I had the dumb idea to do a found footage type piece for the time travel stuff from S6. Absolutely obsessed with how it turned out. “Attacked by Herobrine (NOT CLICKBAIT)” is the energy of this image. I made an unblurred one and a super blurred one and I will drop those under the cut.

Scarian is like strangers to enemies to friends to neighbors to partners to enemies to friends to ENEMIES to friends to neighbors to tragic partners to enemies to neighbors to friends to enemies to allies to soulmates to cordial enemies to partners. And they also kiss. Simple!

Do you think Grian’s base could be connected to the time machine, since it’s going through multiple eras?
Especially since we’ve seen the return of the build off?

Hermitcraft - Basic History of Teams!
Alright. Buckle in.
Only a few days from now, and Hermitcraft 10 will begin! If you're new, I hope this helps!
Hermitcraft has existed for over ELEVEN YEARS now! While very few have been here for every single season, with the exception of our lovely Tumblr Resident, and official Tumblr Sexy Man Joe Hills, and our derp Xisumavoid.
You are under NO obligation to watch every season. There are probably few, if any, active users in this community who have. It's just not possible to watch it all. You don't need to watch the previous seasons to enjoy our community space! While there are a lot of back-references, for MOST people, it doesn't extend to lore and actions any older than season 6.
Most of the Hermits are associated with specific other members, despite ALL OF THEM taking turns collaborating, interacting, and sometimes building whole new dynamics and factions in the process. Some of the team-ups that you'll see referred to in fandom-spaces and the occasional one-off mention from our creators, include:
(Season 5) NHO, New Hermit Order - Docm77, Ethoslab, Bdoubleo100, and VintageBeef. Living in a jungle while having "fights" with others. Attempts to tax those who enter their jungle, had traps around it, and criticized the then-popular AFK Fishing Farms. Bdoubleo100, or Bdubs, especially enjoyed stealing from these. (Season 5-6) Convex, or ConCorp - GoodTimesWithScar and Cubfan135. One group I am the least familiar with unfortunately. They built a brand around the Vexes, with their business having pretty extreme low-morals that includes pollution and war profiteering.
(Season 6) ArciTects - Very close to be naming "BuildStone", it was proposed by and founded by Grian to Mumbo, later giving an invite to Iskall85. The purpose of this alliance was for builders to help redstoners, and redstoner to help builders. It accumulated in the ATTEMPT of founding the "greatest shop in the history of Hermitcraft", Sahara. It was, hilariously, a very large failure. Grian miraculously managed to entirely ruin the system with a single baked potato. No, I don't know how.
(Season 6) G-Team & Team STAR (Superior Tactical Alliance for Retaliation) - The Hermitcraft Civil War, consisted of a long list of minor conflicts in which various members of Hermitcraft blamed other people for pranks they committed, eventually spiraling into the confusion that was The Civil War! G-Team: Grian, TangoTek, Iskall85, Joe Hills, ZombieCleo, StressMonster101, and iJevin. Team STAR: Docm77, WelsKnight, FalseSymmetry, ImpulseSV Xisuma, RenDog
Mumbo Jumbo acted as a mole in Team Star, for the G-Team. He created this commercial for Team STAR. Team STAR made a very iconic diss track, which was soon remixed. It is a...Very iconic piece of Hermitcraft fandom. The result was Joe Hill's Response, in his short video also remixed by the same creator. Albeit missing the additions of the totally real voices of the other G-Team members
(Season 6) Area 77 & The Hippies - (I didn't finish Hippies POV and i didn't watch anything of Doc or Scar's POV of this unfortunately) Area 77 was founded by (unsurprisingly) Docm77, and GoodTimesWithScar, where they were doing experiments and studying abonomalies. SOmehow, this lead into Grian, once again, turning against them and forming The Hippies with the help of Ren, with Impulse soon joining. The conflict primarily consisted of them griefing Area 77 with flowers.
(Season 7) Boomers Demolition - Early game business formed by TangoTek, Bdoubleo100, and ImpulseSV which consistedo f almost exclusively non-duped TnT demolition, and was very fun!!
(Season 7) The Mycellium Resistance/HEP (Hermitcraft Environmental Protection) Hermicraft 7 saw Grian introduce the Hermitcraft Mayoral Election, created with the idea of putting Mumbo in as a puppet-government. If I had a nickel for every time Grian tried to start a puppet government (at this point) I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird it happened twice. Grian and Mumbo lost. In it's place was GoodTimesWIthScar. As Mayor, they had further control over the shopping district. Scar's promise was to replace the shopping district's Mycellium with grass. Despite very happily admitting that grass looked better, Grian, in a moment of nostalgia, decided to replace some Mycellium. Scar proceeded by putting caution tape around the area. This spiraled into The Turf War
Mycellium Resistance: Grian (Mother Spore), ImpulseSV, RenDog, XBCrafted, iJevin, Ethoslab, StressMonster101, Docm77, and Mumbo Jumbo HEP/Mayor Scar: Scar, Bdoubleo100, Keralis, Xisumavoid, TangoTek, Cubfan135, FalseSymmetry, Mumbo Jumbo, who joined due to them having the better vault. Etho had intended on being a double-agent, selling information to Scar. His information, however, was useless on purpose and decided to pledge full loyalty to The Resistance.
(Season 8) Boatem Hole - Grian, Mumbo Jumbo, GoodTimesWithScar, ImpulseSV and PearlescentMoon more or less stumbled and tripped into forming a group after innocently stacking boats and crafting tables and crystals on a pole, dubbed Boatem Poll. They then proceeded to create a hole down to bedrock, and eventually into the void, called the Boatem Hole. It was a large plains biome which was turned into varying mountain terraforming and the like from all of them and was connected in some small ways.
(Season 8) The Big Eyed Crew - Bdoubleo100, Keralis, and TangoTek. Tango did not, in fact, have big eyes and instead wore sunglasses to compensate. They had a town and shopping area and was occasionally dragged into pranks by the Boatem Crew.
(Season 8) Octogon/Goatem - Docm77 and RenDog! Main rivals with Boatem (thus the Goatem - pole of goats) had a mega business, game-breaking creations, and jaw-dropping spidery teal-and-deepslate creations. Weird Science!
(Season 9) Soup Crew - ImpulseSV, PearlescentMoon, GeminiTay. Made the CRAZIEST combo-base where all their different themes blended into a cohesive build
(Season 9) Buttercups - Grian, MumboJumbo, and GoodTimesWithScar. What's up, Buttercup? They formed after an incient where Scar and Grian blew up a massive, complex tunnel bomber in Doc's base. They could not understand how to repair it, and left a few diamond blocks before conflict started. They dragged Mumbo in, and had a robot fight with...
(Season 9) The Perimeter - Docm77 and RenDog. Doc's base, known as The Perimeter, teamed with Ren to attack the Buttercups using walking redstone creations to do a robot fight. Due to an issue with one of the server's plugins, they all re-logged, breaking one of the bots and ending with Buttercup's bot to do more harm to itself than the Perimeter's, but ultimately the destruction did prevent Doc and Ren from getting any further. Ren and Doc then launched flying TnT dupers, which looked like butterflies, towards all of the Buttercups' bases and camp. They stopped them both, with one butterfly destroying The Perimeter's own bot even further.
I am so sure that I'm missing some, but I am losing my mind with all this trying to remember them all!! I hope this could give people an idea of who they might enjoy watching!

i think my ideal desertduo dynamic for the next life series would be one where theyre like full on rivals and enemies on opposing sides (think season 7 turf war or season 6 hippies vs area 77) but in their hours of need they still end up going back to each other despite it all
like throughout the bulk of it they attack and trap each other and maybe even take a life or two but when push comes to shove they still fall back on each other. similar to how in last life grian consistently went back to scar for things like lives or enchants but they would be on equal footing. something something no matter how far away they run they will never leave that desert

Some silly HermitCraft age regression headcanons I like!
Remember, these are entirely my opinion, you don’t have to agree! I might not even use them in my writing! It’s just for fun! :DD
- Keralis and Xisuma both have a very strong parental instinct! Though Keralis has the ability to tell when anybody is even slightly regressed. (He won’t tell a soul how he knows.)
- Ren has a very hard time not regressing when he sees another regressed person. It’s almost on sight.
- Ren chews through most chews he’s given and often feels very bad about it. Though his friends are very understanding and help him eventually feel better about it.
- Impulse and Etho are both caregivers and regressors!
- Grian is a complete cuddle bug while little. He has to be touching someone at all times, hand holding, hugs, cuddles, the whole shebang. He tries to deny it afterwards, chalking it up to avian instincts, but deep down he knows it’s true.
- Scar tries to have a stuffie with him at all times, he sees them like they’re alive and treats them as such.
- Bdubs can nap absolutely anywhere and everywhere. You could go to any hermit and they could give you a whole list of the strangest places they’ve found him sleeping. (Could be seen as age regression or not!)
- During the hippies days in s6, Impulse, Grian, and Ren would have little playdates, they’d play all kinds of board game or hide and seek. Sometimes Scar, False, and Doc would come over too! Or they’d all go to area 77, and have big movie nights!
- I have a feeling Decked Out 2 is a very overwhelming game, so Tango had a calm down/sensory room put in place in case anyone needed it! (Could also be seen for age regression or not!)

Major Wars and Conflicts of Hermitcraft:
BG (Before Grian)
ABBA Trial (Season 2)
Log Wars (Season 4)
AG (After Grian)
Hermitcraft Civil War (Season 6)
H.I.B. Vs. Hippies (Season 6)
Demise (Season 6)
Turf War (Season 7)
Corporate Wars (Season 8)
Soup Group Resistance (Season 9)
and finally…
Grian and Scar Vs. Everyone Else
okay so i do have some patch notes for this one:
the nho vs la resistance (season 5) absolutely needs to be on here; it is more of a direct war/conflict than half the stuff you have listed i think.
i'll allow area 77 because it ended up involving a good number of hermits but that one's on thin ice on account of you not including stuff such as the NHO. demise is also on thin ice - definitely a conflict? but not a war by any stretch so it feels like it doesn't fit with the rest here, it's not really a "storyline conflict" like most of these are, it's a minigame that got way too overgrown. i feel like one or the other of these should be knocked off.
the season eight corporate wars were not really a war, and i don't think should be on this list. it COULD HAVE been a greater conflict but honestly season eight started a trend towards the shopping district becoming more irrelevant that carried into season nine. that was like... normal scale prank-and-retaliation, everyone was too busy with stuff like moon's big to really call that one a war. it DEFINITELY doesn't belong on the list when season five isn't on the list.
baffled you're referring to the king ren arc as the soup group resistance i had to like. stretch to think what you meant there.
and the current chicken nonsense isn't a war, it's a doc bullying competition. maybe it'll become a war. i for one hope it does, if only to see what a zedaph does when he finds himself a part of a storyline he didn't start. but right now it's a doc bullying competition,
also i unfortunately don't know enough about early seasons to add more conflicts but if we're counting stuff on the scale of area 77 and season eight prank silliness, there were DEFINITELY bigger pranks than the season eight prank silliness in early seasons.
overall, while grian DEFINITELY showed up right as hermitcraft started to become "modern hermitcraft", i think people maybe... oversell how much conflict he brought to the server? stuff like the prank war/civil war were hardly his animal, he's just a guy who really likes organizing big events like this. if anything "season six was popular" i think is the biggest driver of events like this on hermitcraft. like, this is a fine list, i just think it exaggerates the after grian era and doesn't have enough of the before grian era! (THE NHO HAVE YOU SEEN WHAT BDUBS WAS SERVING IN HIS VIDEOS THERE. THE DRAMA. THE DRAMA.)

GRIDS if you please? In the heat of Area 77 vs. Hippies, they take the time to check up on each other, because of Grian, Ren, and Docs overlapping Nesting Season? With Semi-Humans Scar and Impulse soothing their feral loves back into their dog/wolf/bird/cryptid/creeper/goat nest.
The GRIDS Group are not seen for a while. It’s almost concerning, for the other Hermits, as this is their first Nesting Season as lovers (romantically, anyways. It’s a new relationship!)
Thankfully, one of them has the sense of mine to eventually message the hermits that they're fine. Even the five of them don't know who sent the message (nor can they figure it out afterwards, it was sent by Impulse's name but they've never seen Impulse type like that!)
As much as they enjoying the playful warring, the break was much needed. A creative reset as they make the most of the Nesting Season together.

when I first began watching docm77, it was late season six. i didn't know what was coming when he marked out a border with yellow and black concrete and quarantined some aliens.
doc built projects in area 77, brand new projects that turned the old minecraft I knew to dust. village and pillage was here, and tango's abandoned iron farm at spawn was obsolete.
the first time horror struck me, that first moment when I looked at my scream and said: something is horribly wrong, is when he started building that first infinity portal.
weeks and weeks went by and that portal warped under his hands. and doc only explained it when the sun set on the season, and the hermits dived through the portal with its edges glittering with diamond.
weeks and weeks went by and he'd end his episode by changing one block on that portal, and he wouldn't tell us how, or why. it was terrifying, it was mastery.
the hippies were saying that horrors were happening in area 77 and they weren't wrong. doc was showing us that they weren't wrong.
it was brilliant storytelling on his part. I'd definitely recommend watching it, if you haven't seen it

Season six hermitcraft hippies??  Season six hermitcraft hippies, apparently.  They’re fun to draw, alright?
Legitimately though, I really enjoyed drawing this, Renbob, Grian and Impulse during the Hippies v. Area 77 arc was such a vibe, and it’s always fun to draw something with natural(ish) lighting and bright colors.  That and flowers.  I really like drawing flowers.  That and I’m a bit partial to this particular arc for some reason, even though it’s from I wanna say almost three years ago now.
In conclusion.  Them.  They’re a vibe.  And please enjoy this drawing.  That said, I hope y’all have a lovely day <3
