Baldr's whole deal in this universe is a strange one. While yes, he is infected with the same Virus as all the other zombies, he's not actually fully a zombie. He's somewhere in between.

See, Baldr has the special sort of immunity to/mutation of the Virus. Some way or other he's not effected the same by it as the average person. The short of it is that Baldr keeps his sentience and his appearance changes much slower than others would, but he is still able to spread the virus.

I imagine that the events would go something like how they did in game, with Hoder being killed in a fight that Baldr inadvertently started, maybe she's trying to save him from a horde of zombies? Anyway, Baldr blames himself for her death because lo and behold, he had actually gotten infected during an earlier encounter that Hoder was not aware of, and in his eyes he obviously would've been at no risk of being infected because he already was, so Hoder gave her life up for nothing.

Baldr wanders around Scala for a good amount of time all alone stewing in his guilt and regrets and because of that he kind of ends up in a not-so-good mental space. He's painfully aware that he's got some kind of mutation of the virus because it's been like, at least a couple days and he's shown no signs of changing, and he doesn't know what to do.

At some point he meets up with the rest of the gang and hangs with them for some time, not telling them about the whole zombie thing. Overtime he begins to sort of... deteriorate? like his mental and physical health just become more and more unstable. Mutation or not, he's still effected by the Virus.

I also find it important to note that he is not the only person in this story who has this immunity/mutation. Do with that what you will.

I never really thought about Luxu in this au, so I'm just gonna go with no, Bragi's just Like That naturally asdfgh. he acts so nonchalant about everything most of the time because he's a big fan of horror movies, so he's practically got this whole apocalypse thing in the bag.
