Headcanon:

After Tartarus, Piper would constantly check on Percy and Annabeth. Especially as Piper looked up to Annabeth so much, it almost broke her to see Annabeth having panic attacks. But it wasn’t until she caught Percy staring at a wall silently crying that she understood the severity of their trauma.

After that, Piper was using charmspeak on a regular basis to calm them down. Especially at nights. She would help them fall asleep and essentially persuade their bodies out of survival mode so they wouldn’t jolt at every little sound. If one of them was panicking or dissociating, she would talk them back into reality. Sometimes her voice wasn’t powerful enough to do that, but she had to try.

After one particularly difficult panic attack from Annabeth, Percy and Piper had managed to get her to finally calm down and rest a bit. By the time she was asleep, Percy was almost in tears thanking Piper for helping them with a rib crushing hug. He admitted how he loved Annabeth so much, but he felt useless in helping her. So Piper ended up shushing him to sleep as well, and finally got up to let the two sleep.

Yeah, so basically Piper becomes the twos personal therapist, but she wouldn’t change it for the world. She was happy to finally use her voice for something good.

In an alternate universe, Octavian is captured by the 7 before he can get off the Argo II and he’s tied up on the floor for the whole quest. OR he gets character development and become helpful.

But the funnier option is obviously the first one. He’s thrown in the stables with Nike. When Leo works on something in there he just starts yelling and yapping. They throw down a stuffed animal for enrichment. He’s also getting thrown around when there’s a rough patch in the ocean.

I want to see this in a fanfic and I can probably TRY to write it, but alas, my writing skills are abysmal.

my thoughts on caleo even though no one asked for them!!!

Personally, I don't like caleo, it felt forced, as if Leo was the only single one so Rick just paired him off with this immortal titaness so he wouldn't be alone. Honestly, Calypso's kinda a jerk, and Leo is too good for her. Nemesis told him that he'd always be the 7th wheel, so I like the headcannon that Leo's aromantic (idk the correct terms for everything, but I think that's correct), and he's the 7th wheel not because he's "unlovable" (all his friends love him) but because he simply does not want to date! And maybe he thinks he does want to date for a bit, but eventually he realises he's perfectly content with just his friends.

Also, it would have been wayyy more impactful if Leo had helped Calypso get away for Ogygia simply out of the kindness of his heart, and to hold the gods accountable for not following through on their promise to Percy. Maybe at first he thought he liked her, just to continue on Leo's whole "falling in love with unobtainable people" thing, but i dont think Calypso would ever return this crush, and Leo would just get over it. When Leo first arrived, Calypso took one look at him and was lowkey disgusted, like here was this scrawny guy washed up on here island, when before she's had strong, very heroic types such as oddyeseus, so I don't think she'd like Leo because he's simply not her type.

However I do like the idea of Calypso getting a soft spot for Leo, and them developing a sort of sibling-like relationship, or a friendship similar to early Percabeth - but with less of an undertone of romance and tragedy.

Also, if we're not going with the aro Leo hc, I way prefer valgrace or valzhang (they have so much more chemistry and backstory let's be real they're both sm better)

i just KNOW mfs on the argo ii were SICK of percy and annabeth. after months of not seeing one another, they could not keep their hands off the other. if annabeth was in the middle of a conversation w someone and percy entered the room, almost immediately his arm was around her waist. they sat next to each other at every meal and held hands over the table and played footsies under it. leo has been victim to percy mistaking his leg for annabeths and rubbing up his shin more than once. if you were looking for one of them, you were looking for both of them. walking up to the deck of the ship to see them making out against the railing. i just know they were Tired.

Anyone else really wish we'd gotten more of Percy in New Rome before the Argo II arrives?

I would have loved to see him actually have to be the Praetor for awhile. Sure, in many ways he actually isn't the right choice to be a Roman leader; but that's just all the more reason it would be interesting to see him have to do it longer term!
