Not to be angsty on main but what about a Rogue One au where Teresa is Thomas' older sister and a WCKD scientist who was forced to help create a super weapon, the Flare. She somehow hid the plans how to destroy it in one of their war prisoner Minho's neck tattoo.

The Rebels (Right Arm) find out about a possible way to destroy the Flare and those plans and they free Thomas, orphaned and WCKD prisoner, to get more information about Teresa etc.

They send their best agent Newt and the scientist's brother Thomas out to retrieve information from Teresa. Newt and Thomas instantly distrust each other but eventually work well together and they find out about Minho and Teresa's involuntary role in everything. They decide to save Minho and Teresa, but when their plan fails and Teresa dies, Newt and Thomas go rogue and risk everything to get Minho out from WCKD's headquarter. They successfully save him but then everything goes wrong.

(um yes basically all I want to do is write the will they won't they rebel captain enemies to friends to lovers if it weren't too late dynamic between Newt and Thomas and let the angst and pining peak in that elevator scene)

I just binged both seasons of Surviving Summer and I don’t think Poppy and Marlon should’ve got together. I feel like their relationship just came out of nowhere. Personally, I would’ve loved to see Poppy and Griff together. I feel like it would’ve been a perfect enemies to lovers relationship. It was set up so well too.

I just watched Netflix’s new show ‘Surviving Summer’ and let me tell you, this shit is good like, as good as Julie & the Phantoms. It also has a fuck ton of surfing -makes sense, it takes place in Australia- which i absolutely love. It also shows (phenomenally well) how difficult living with PTSD & anxiety is alongside the effect of growing up without a parental figure around changes how you interact. Overall I’d rate it a 9.8/10 Go check it out!

A/n: I’m not dead sorry this is kinda short I stayed up all night but hope you enjoy because if Summer won’t have him I will gladly take him.

<Before dating if you can’t surf> -you guys defiantly met when him and his sisters moved to shore haven before Wren and Ari started dating -you were probably friends with Bodhi and Poppy -you guys would hang out at the beach and you would help them train. -they would always try and teach you to surf but you always refused because your balance is atrocious. -you definitely first met him at the beach. -you were watching Bodhi and Poppy surf when he approached you. -the interaction probably went like this:

“So I’m guessing you’re not a surfer?” You looked to your left to see a guy with pink hair standing over you. “No definitely not” you responded shaking your head. “And just when I thought I found the girl for me” he joked you let out a slight laugh smiling up at him. “Well if you ever change your mind come find me. I’m Baxter” he said holding out his hand you took it “I’m YN” you replayed as he pressed your knuckles to his lips and winking before running off.

-Bodhi and Poppy saw this from the water and wanted details -A few months later at tryouts when you were cheering on your friends you saw Baxter again. -Later at the bbq at the Gibsons. -he kind of cornered you when you were coming back from the bathroom -And he asked you on a date which you accepted

<Dating if you can’t surf> -Would take you on super cute picnic dates at the beach. -On multiple of these dates he’s definitely tried to teach you how to surf - was only successful on one but it did not last long. -Because he decided to take you further out which ended up being way deeper then you could touch the sand -So once you finally stood up on his spare board a wave knocked you over. -and because your not the strongest swimmer especially since in that moment you were panicking -he had to save you which he didn’t really mind. -Because it made him look strong -So after that the dates would be things that you like to do. -Being at all his comps helping hype him up. -Also being there for him when his sisters leave. -And when he finds out the truth. -Comforting him when he’s stressed -I feel like the way you would cuddle is either him between your legs his head on your stomach and you playing with his hair. -or you lying next to him your head on his chest and his arms wrapped around you keeping you close. -Being a bit jealous of how he act’s around Summer -And him reassuring you. -Wren scaring you and being thankful that your not on the surf team.

<Before dating when you’re a surfer> -I feel like the interaction when you first meet would be practical the same -except when you first meet it’s after your try outs heat. -You both ended up on the team

<Dating but you’re a surfer> -He would totally make you a board like the one he made summer. -Almost all your dates would be surf dates. -Wakes you up at like 5am to go surfing -finds it cute at how sleepy you are so for a few minutes after surfing you and him would cuddle on the beach in the sun. -If his sister makes him sabotage your board before you go out he would try and convince you not to surf. -It doesn’t work though. -let’s say the waves are brutal and after you get knocked off you keep getting pressed down by waves. -He is the first at your side when you get brought in. -Tells his sister to leave you alone because you could’ve died today. -Whenever you get knocked down he is the first to help you back up. -Helping each other train. -Being scared of Wren and him comforting you. -Not leaving you alone with Wren To make you more comfortable. -Let’s say if you were able to convince him to surf the final heat or at least just watch you -and then you surfed with Wren instead of summer and Wren pushed you. -He is not impressed and making sure you’re ok once you get out of the water.

Surviving Summer

hey y’all, it’s been a minute since i’ve done one of these. let’s get into it…😏

So i genuinely like this show. Just finished watching the second season, in fact.

I feel like it’s the good amount of cheesy and adorable and mind numbing without being too formulaic and basic like some of these Netflix originals tend to be. Now it can be annoying and cringy sometimes, don’t get me wrong. But it’s got some pretty good actors and actresses with enough heartfelt moments and playful scenes to make one feel content. She’s not a top ten, but she never tries to be, you know??

As for the show itself? Surviving Summer is the perfect name for it, because Summer the character? a HOT mess. I cannot stress this enough, the frontal lobes on that one are not fully formed. It’s especially apparent in season 1. Even so, i love her 🥰. I cant help it ok? She has the confidence that i dreamed of having in high school, and now tbh.

I won’t go to deep into every character, but let me just say this: they will ALL annoy you at some point. It’s so obvious that they’re teenagers, cuz they childish. But they all care about each other most of the time, and surfing. It’s a great summer watch! go for it, don’t be shy

7.5/10. Surface level fun with shenanigans galore and annoying teenagers.

Y’all the second season was gooood. I liked it better than the first tbh. Summer, like i said before was much more serious and focused, but it didn’t change her personality at all, which i loved.

I liked how they got more into Bodhi’s conflicts with surfing and the racism in the industry on her end. If anything, i wish they had time to do even more with it. Because everything else they did with her character this season was just bleh. A half hearted conflict between poppy blown WAY out of proportion and a half assed queer relationship that was cute but barely touched on because hottake Netflix hates their wlws and their black main characters 🤭(oop who said that)

Poppy and marlon were cuteeeee. sidenote, who else forgot that bodhi and marlon had a thing, cuz i sho did 👀. they have such good chemistry and it just warmed my heart. SPEAKING of good chemistry…

immediately side eyeing anyone who says that summer and ari should be together, because i’m not sure you and i watch the same show. another steaming take, but I never bought into summer and ari. they are too sibling for me. i was taken ABACK when they kissed in season one. I genuinely did not see it coming. they play off each other nicely, but in a romantic way? NOPE, i don’t buy it.

but from the first scene with baxter and summer, i knew. it was intense. the casual touches, the instant bind they formed, the way bax looks at her 🤭…

you cannot compete where you don’t compare, Ari is not the one 🤷🏾‍♀️

oh, y’all join me in a big FVCK you to Elo and Wren. they both suck actual ass and i hate them both.

it’s the way that they treat everyone like shit equally. even their own brother? like what the fvck is wrong with them?

like especially wren. being jealous and overly competitive is one thing. but they way she handled the bodhi situation, plus the way she outed her old teammate? literally bordering on racist and homophobic like wtffff. maybe a lil psychotic too, cuz why is she literally a threat to summer’s life? don’t take it out on her cuz your boyfriend is an indecisive disaster. at least they didn’t give wren a redemption, i would have been so pissed off like fvck her.

ok this is getting long. tldr, Season 2 was entertaining and fun. poppy and marlon were cute, summer was awesome, ari does not need a girlfriend, justice for baxter, and wren and elo will not be seeing the pearly gates.

Not sure I can continue watching the second season of Surviving Summer. Seriously. I HATED the Grace character in Dance Academy and now they’ve basically brought her back in the form of Wren. You can so tell it’s the same creators. A blonde girl who out of jealously does the most horrible things, destroys friendships and gets away with it?? Whyyy

Episode 4 was going so well, with them showing all the racist and sexist bullshit Bodhi has to deal with, before they turned Wren into full on psychopath. So unnecessary. And all this over freaking ARI!!! Who I adore, ok, but come on.

I watched that show Surviving Summer on Netflix and I’m so mad!!

Summer says “her happiness shouldn’t mean other people suffer” or whatever. Wtf is that??!?! No one has EVER put Summer first. She spends the entire show making mistakes but FIXING them, bringing people together, putting everyone else first. Then she says something harsh to Bodhi and Poppy and they don’t forgive her when she apologizes??

And then her mom says some scapegoat shit and basically admits that she’s a crap mom and somehow it’s all Summer’s fault?

Then Ari’s parents end up thinking Summer was a bad influence after all? It’s like they didn’t spend weeks with her. I thought that Abbie had a chance to be a good role model with Summer and then she throws it away? Like I know Ari fixed it but that they could think I that in the first place means they never knew Summer at all.

And she says she needs to fix her mistakes at home as if she’s not 15 with a mother who basically ignores her.

This show had such potential but it all boiled down to everyone thinking that Summer was a worse person than she ever actually was. What the fuck was that?

this episode is making me mad. why would you have bodhi, the black girl, SETTLE FOR LESS BECAUSE OF A RACIST? like that shit makes no sense why would you have the people of color side with the other white girl who poppy said literally has a problem with summer? that doesn’t make any sense and the fact that they just say there and let summer get sent home for something she didn’t do is really disheartening. it’s not representative in any way, that shit is weird. like you shoulda have bodhi say SOMETHIFN ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER because it happened to her !!!! bodhi could’ve opened her mouth and said soemthin when that lady asked but no, she didn’t. god n i was really thinkin that they would be real friends to summer, I know bodhi is a bit naive when it comes to fake people but summer’s you’re FUCKING FRIEND.

you really side with the random white girl because what? because she’s ari’s girlfriend and basically a bitch? that company does not deserve bodhi at all, especially that victoria team because those girls are such bitches. THAT FAMILY is FUCKIN BAD ugh i can’t.
