I loved Ice's scene in TGM; it was incredibly moving and they handled Val's speaking issues really well. I just wish he'd been in more of the movie.

Same! I thought Ice was great and super in character, and he was absolutely the emotional linchpin of the entire film. I would have loved just to see more of his and Mav's texts, even.

“Hey, honey! Did you try to squeeze these a bit first? Or did you try to eat them?” When it came to fruit, the trickster could not be fooled easily. He could tell a fresh berry from a gently used one, and he knew when they were better for wine than for dessert. The one Ari seemed to be offering him though looked like she might have held onto it just a bit too tightly.

Oh, there was another one! And another! “Whoa, so many of them! Where did you get all of those berries, huh, Ari? Did someone give them to you?”

Welp...this happened.

Unfortunately, I was let go from my job today. Long story short, it was due to a mismatch in skills; my boss acknowledged I did my best and put my best effort forward every day, but ultimately I just didn’t have some of the skills they were looking for (some which weren’t even in the job description, but I digress).

Obviously, this puts a bit of a damper on my financial situation.

While I intend to apply for unemployment (in my state, you can still apply if you were let go if it wasn’t for serious misconduct like stealing), that’s still going to take at least a few weeks to kick in and I don’t know how much I’ll even get. I do have some savings, but I’d still like to make what I have last as long as possible.

If anyone could help give me anything to survive for a little while, even just 20 dollars, that’d be terrific. If you can’t give, please reblog this post so it gets some notice at least. Thank you in advance for your help.

(One morning, a literal stork flies down to the newly rebuilt Casita, carrying a bundle containing Baby Ariana in its beak. It drops the bundle outside the house before flying away.) (For Mirabel!)

Mirabel was walking through the foyer of the new, much more amazing Casíta, having just finished getting on the ingredients her mom needed to make her batch of food for the town today. However, her tiles at her feet suddenly shifted, rolling her towards the front door of the house.

She looked down, then back up at the door curiously. “What is it, Casíta? Did we receive a delivery already?”

And when the door opened, it most certainly was a delivery…just not the kind she was expecting. An adorable little baby, wrapped in white cloth, was laying completely vulnerable outside the house.

Quickly, she leaned down and grabbed the little one and brought it inside. Mirabel was gentle with them, like how she cared for Antonio when he was that small. “Hello there…” she smiled to the baby, inside feeling very nervous about this.

Amelia sighed happily, having just finished watching another movie that she had always wanted to see. And even if it hadn’t been, it left her in a good mood. The popcorn container besides her was empty, and the iced tea on the other side was almost in the same situation. She was about to take a sip to finish it off when the music on her TV ended and she heard a peculiar noise.

A baby crying. And it sounded way too close to her doorstep.

Cautiously, she opened her apartment door, only to discover exactly what she had feared. A little baby girl, crying at her door. She was absolutely not the candidate to do this, but…what else was she going to do?

Leaning down nervously, she inspected the little one. “H-Hey, little girl,” she said, gently as she could manage. “What’s wrong?”

Maggie sensed a presence outside of her apartment and went to investigate. Upon seeing the baby left in a basket Maggie's heart melted. It was freezing outside and she brought the basket inside quickly. She wouldn't let anything happen to this precious child. Her own childhood had been stolen from her and she would make damn sure this baby lived and was loved to the fullest.

Also, just a small nitpick, but I hate how women in movies are generally pressured to "find a good man" above all else. Like if they'd prefer to be dedicated to their career (like Becky in Morning Glory, for example), that's a "flaw" that needs to be fixed. It's really frustrating.

I thought it was done well in Morning Glory. Being too dedicated to one's career, at the cost of actually living life, can be a problem for anyone. Morning Glory shows us that this is a problem for both Becky, a woman, and Mike, a man, and it shows them both finding some kind of acceptable balance - it's more about them learning to have fun and let people in, than about romance. In fact, it feels more about the friendship between Becky and Mike than it is about Becky's romance with Adam or Mike's rekindling with Colleen.

There are absolutely movies in which this is a problem! Flatliners, which I saw a couple nights ago, has shades of this that put me off. It's absolutely a widespread problem in the mainstream. I think Morning Glory did a great job of dealing with it respectfully, without making it about gender.

Now that they had a stepdaughter to include in their life, the couple had to plan out everything in advance. Their holidays, their weekends, their plans. While they had been happy to both go out with friends on the same day if they had some free time from work, now one had to stay home with Ari if the other wanted to go out.

Except, when they decided to go on the usual holiday by the sea, they could just take her with them and have her enjoy the sunny days and the water, and the sand - and meet new kiddos out on the beach while she made sandcastles.

“I brought you some toys, Ari! Wanna go make some sand animals?” Rigmor had picked up a cute set of sand molds with sea animals and forest animals, as well as a shovel and a pail to put the sand in. “Or we can make a little castle together!”

Before they got out from under the big parasol Kieran had put up, they unrolled a beach towel and Rigmor got out the sunscreen. “But first let mommy put this on you... it smells nice and the sun won't hurt your skin.” Because Ari was smaller than her parents it didn't take long for Rigmor to rub the cream all over her body.

Kieran secured a cute blue hat with some animal shapes sewn on it on Ari's head. “And a hat so the sun doesn't make your head ache... and you're good to go, honey!” Of course he'd follow right after Ari while Rigmor put away their clothes and the sunscreen bottle so Ari wouldn't just run off to somewhere. The fun could now begin...
