Pairing/Shippy list!
I found this on @dorianslover tumblr and wanted to do same myself!
Here's the rules: 1. List your top seven ships 2. Put all of them in order of your love for them; 7 to 1, 1 being your favorite. 3. Name their fandom. 4. Supply photos for said people. So basically it's very difficult for me to sort my ships from my least liked to favourite, so in my case it's just list of my fav ships.
7. Angbang (Sauron x Melkor, The Silmarillion) Art by Phobs
Tumblr media
6. Adoribull (Dorian Pavus x The Iron Bull, Dragon Age: Inquisition)
Tumblr media
5. Symbrock / Veddie (Eddie x Venom, Venom series)
Tumblr media
4. Spacedogs (Nigel Ibanescu x Adam Raki, The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman and Adam crossover)
Tumblr media
3. Shassie (Shawn Spencer x Carlton Lassiter, Psych)
Tumblr media
2. Arishawke (Garrett Hawke x Arishok, Dragon Age II)
Tumblr media
1. Hannigram (Hannibal Lecter x Will Graham, Hannibal NBC)
Tumblr media
Worth mentioning also: - Thorki (Thor x Loki, MCU) - Johnlock (Sherlock Holmes x John Watson, Sherlock BBC) - Nandermo (Nandor x Guillermo, What we do in the shadows) - Legolas x Gimli (The Lord of the Rings) - Drarry (Draco Malfoy x Harry Potter, Harry Potter series) - Snarry (Severus Snape x Harry Potter, Harry Potter series) - Tomarry/Voldarry (Tom Riddle/Voldemort x Harry Potter, Harry Potter series) - Science bros (Tony Stark x Bruce Banner, MCU) - Stucky (Steve Rogers x Bucky Barnes, MCU) - Cherik (Charles Xavier x Erik Lehnsherr, X-men series) - Thorinduil (Thorin x Thranduil, The Hobbit series)

Nobody Expects the Dragon Age Smutquisition 2022 exchange works!
Unmasked at last! (Well, I was unmasked on Monday with creator reveals so I’m about 6 days late, LOL, but I’ve only just found time and energy to make this post) 😄   I created 3 works for the Smutquisition Exchange this year as hollyand on AO3, including a surprise artwork (above! My 50th AO3 work) 😂
PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL WORKS ARE RATED E FOR EXPLICIT.
Here are the links to my @dasmutquisition works, but please note I’ll also post each of them in separate posts, in case anyone prefers to reblog just their ship without all the other content 😄
Garrett and Anders Do It In The Hanged Man (Artwork) (M!Hawke/Anders)
Did I draw this as a surprise for @storybookhawke, @pinkfadespirit, @un-shit-yourself @laniardraws, @dismalzelenka AND also gift it to myself to throw any possible suspicion off me?!? Yes. Yes I did 😂  Thanks to all of you for being such good sports about fic-writer-me trolling all of you (nicely!) with an unexpected artwork! ❤️  Full version on AO3 (linked above), although you can’t see any visible bits, so I might post the full version on Tumblr anyway...

An Unlikely Coupling (M!Hawke/Arishok, 1,446 words)
The reason Varric left out the actual duel Hawke had with the Arishok in The Tale of the Champion? Well, because no-one would believe it.
Utter crackfic with rough anal, humour, a desperate and embarrassed Arishok, a completely shameless and unembarrassed Male Hawke, and a Varric Tethras who is just so, so done with the antics of his friend. The Arishok may never recover from this.
Written for @the-dreadful-canine on AO3!
Tumblr media
she’s the sweetest taste of sin (F!Hawke/Isabela, 800 words)
Title taken from a lyric from Ne-Yo’s song “Closer”. Isabela is a giver -- going down on Marian Hawke in the candlelight and giving her lover the most tender pleasure ever.
Written for @/sleepyuki on AO3!

I’d like to hear more Hawkeishok feels…
I've been reading a lot of arishawke fics lately (or at least a lot compared to how many there are lmao) and it's really got me thinking about the implications. Most of the fics are noncon/dubcon or one-night stands, but there's a few complete ones where the Arishok becomes Tal-Vashoth and even fewer where Hawke becomes a Viddathari.
I actually really enjoy fics where he becomes Tal-Vashoth, but it's just such a difficult concept to tackle without making him massively out of character (or diving right into some islamophobic territory). But when it IS well written, you can really get into him being torn between duty and love, his culture and community and people vs the person he wants in a way that his culture doesn't allow, and the consequences of giving all that up to stay in a hostile land just to be with someone else.
The Arishok is a title held by the highest ranking military commander in the Qun. That's something that requires not just dedication and strength, but also absolute certainty in his place in the Qun. The Arishok leaving the Qun would be a HUGE deal and would require something that completely shakes the foundations of everything he knows, makes him rethink his place in the Qun and his dedication to his role. The idea of him falling in love with Hawke, the Basalit-an who keeps challenging him, being the thing that makes him take that leap? God, I'm OBSESSED with it.
The other scenario is Hawke becoming Viddathari, converting to the Qun and following the Qunari to Par Vollen. I don't actually have much to say about this, because I don't know much about the Qun! I've read one fic that actually really gets into it (on the DA kinkmeme), where Hawke doesn't just convert to be closer to the Arishok but because she genuinely found comfort in the Qun and wanted to be part of it. I think this is a really interesting concept to explore, Hawke finding comfort and strength in the strict roles and self-assuredness of the Qun, something that I think would really resonate with the experiences of a lot of real converts to a variety of religions.
What would happen after that though? Would Hawke and the Arishok end whatever relationship they had? Would they try to find places for each other in their lives within the rules of the Qun? Would Hawke struggle with how much relationships differ in the Qun? Would they still feel drawn to each other no matter how much they're both dedicated to the Qun? When they finally reach Par Vollen, how would they handle it if Hawke is assigned to a different role instead of being a warrior under the Arishok's command?
And then there's the scenario I've been thinking about. The Arishok cannot and will not leave the Qun, no matter how drawn he is to Hawke, and Hawke would gladly join the Qun if he asked. Except that they're a mage. And there's a lot of variations in Hawkes, but I can't imagine any who would allow themself to be made a Saarebas. And if the Arishok truly loves them, could he even bring himself to ask them to make that choice? Could he justify wanting them to be collared and silenced? Would a Saarebas Hawke even be the warrior he loves anymore?
My own Hawke, for this specific AU and ship, would never let herself be chained or controlled like that. Even being sent to the Circle is a fate worse than death to her, and she's made it very clear to all her companions and to Carver that if she's ever made Tranquil, she wants them to kill her immediately. Becoming a Saarebas would destroy her and no matter how much she loves the Arishok, she won't resign herself to that fate.
So, they're in a stasis. The Arishok won't leave the Qun and she can't join him and they're both too in love to stop seeing each other, even with the guillotine hanging over their heads, knowing that their relationship is on a timer. It's such a miserable situation for them both.

I so rarely deviate so strongly from canon BUT my Dragon Age 2 personal playthrough is this:
There are Hawke twins, but it's not Bethany and Carver. Varric lied to protect the truth. Bethany and Charity were identical twins, and they were both responsible for the reputation of "Hawke" in acts 1 and 2. Bethany is a mage, and Charity was a rogue. Bethany was quiet and smart, Charity was reckless and bold. Much of the planning was Bethany, who kept hidden as much as possible, and much of the doing was Charity. Then, at the end of act 2, Charity handed over Isabela to the Arishok and fled the city with him. It was not the great triumph Varric spoke of, it was a massacre and Charity left them all in it.
Bethany took up the mantle of Charity at that point, and has been living as her sister ever since. Charity is still with the Arishok who is Tal Vashoth and lives in disgrace. Carver is a warden and he, Bethany, her partner Merrill, Varric, and of course Isabela are the only ones who know the truth.

What’s your favourite piece of dialogue you wrote this year? Please!
of dialogue? probably this exchange between reina hawke and the arishok:
He set a hand on my shoulder, giving it a gentle squeeze as he said, “You have done much for yours, and I admire that. But when will it  be too much? When will you be asked to sacrifice that which you know in your soul you cannot? How long will you walk this line, Hawke?”
As I turned to regard him, his earnest expression tugged sharply at something in my chest, a want and a desire flaring even though I knew not how to handle it. My hands trembled ever so slightly as I reached up to cup his face as I answered him, “I don’t know, truly. Will you be there to catch me if I fall?”
Humming in the affirmative, he took one of my hands in his, gently kissing my palm as he promised, “Always, Kadan. Always.”

I had a dream last night of a DLC that took place after DA2 while Hawke and the gang are escaping Kirkwall. The plot is to basically get as far away from Kirkwall as possible while dodging Templars, Demons, and Darkspawn.
HOWEVER
There's also a new mechanic that's introduced, wherein when you pause the game a Stress Meter starts to fill. The premise was basically that, if Hawke stops to rest for too long, the stress of the escape will break the companion with the lowest amount of loyalty to Hawke. When a companion snaps, they turn on Hawke and try to kill or turn them over the the Templars. Unless you have one companion you never maxed friendship or rivalry with, you're never told who snaps when the Meter fills. If Hawke survives the first betrayal, another companion can snap if the Meter fills up again. This would continue until Hawke ran away far enough, Hawke runs out of companions, or one of the companions wins.
So in my dream I'm playing this DLC with my Miriam Hawke. I had paused the game to look up what the Stress Meter was, and upon finally finding out i jump back in the game to push forward. I GUESS it was paused long enough for the Meter to fill and a companion to snap. And the companion with the lowest loyalty to Miriam was Aveline.
In game in my dream, Aveline convinces Miriam to duck into an old fort with her, trying to find a passage that could take them through the mountains undetected. The passage they find spans a great big cavern, dangerously high up off the cavern floor and high up over the stalagmites it's covered with. There are metal guardrails on the side of the path, but theyre rotting and missing in spots. This is where Aveline attacks Hawke.
They fight, and Hawke tries to defuse the situation, but Aveline is so tired of running that nothing works. Eventually they lock blades, daggers against swords, facing each other, and with a great push Hawke is able to throw Aveline off. Aveline goes over one side of the path missing guardrails and falls. Hawke falls against guardrails on the other side, but they give way under the impact.
Hawke catches herself on the broken guardrail, but it can't bear her weight. It creaks, and there's a sharp, echoing ping when another part of it breaks off. She screams, hoping someone will come and help her, but she came into this fort alone with Aveline.
Right as the guardrail gives way and Hawke starts to fall, the ARISHOK, whom in my Hawke’s canon is romanced and made Tal-Vashoth, grabs her and pulls her to safety.
They hold each other for a moment, taking the time to recover before returning to the rest of the gang.
I think Aveline survives the fall, but needless to say it was a VERY intense dream.
