Where does the riddler even get that outfit with all the question marks on it? Did he have the whole outfit custom made? Did he just have it customized to have the embellishments? Did he do it himself? Is his CANE custom made? Inquiring minds DEMAND TO know.

"Custom-Made" Riddler Party Ask

Jokes on you, I know who this is from, and I'm going to make you listen to me talk about all of them and their outfits. Also pardon there will be a fair amount of photos.

Gonna include Gotham, 60s, Telltale on a reblog.

General

Hi I have no pictures for general but I wanted to say my personal interpretation absolutely has his shit custom made. There's a real good amount of it that he has made by Jervis (Mad Hatter) because Edward knows his friend genuinely does good work. Plus if no one is going to judge his weird requests...

Capullo/Zero Year

I actually took a picture of the issue 21 script in the back of my Zero Year comic. This explains multiple things about him outside of story such as: "He admits to wearing green because in nature, it attracts the female eye." That's it buddy that's the kicker.

His whole look, the costume... it's all a peacock showing its feathers. It's why his suit is one of the brighter greens of all the riddlers (also note matching his eyes. I would say that's intentional.)

He absolutely had this shit custom made. It's way too matching to his eyes, he even says himself it was expensive- The cane is up for debate but I don't remember him using it for any devices, so I'd say custom made by someone else as well.

BTAS

Okay so for a fact I know he made this cane himself because it has buttons he presses that activates devices in the show. Was it a cane he made completely from scratch or did he hollow out one he found? Unsure. At minimum he made heavy modifications.

I think you could argue either way that he either genuinely found a lot of his outfit himself OR had it made. One thing that was custom if nothing else is that tie. Make sure it matched the gloves and mask.

Arkham Games

So it depends. The Riddler goes through a very gradual clothing and design change throughout the games. We go from very well kept to grease monkey within the three games. We never physically see Riddler in Arkaham Asylum so we only have the picture to go off of. (Not counting origins because he's literally in plains clothes.)

In the first game, Arkham Asylum, everything is glitz and pretty high fashion- I think it's safe to say this is the high point of his criminal career so he can afford some really nice custom digs. More of a headcanon, but I'd like to say he asks Jervis (Mad Hatter) to do some of his tailoring. The cane here I'd say is also custom.

The middle, Akrham City, is where we start seeing the shift between high end to grease. Still a really nice suit and shit is definitely custom. He starts using the bulkier metal question mark cane here and I'm gonna say he made that himself. The question mark tie clip is definitely reminiscent to the first. This look also made an appearance in the comics:

You can see that the outfit is fairly normal work clothing besides his green goggles. At this point he is at the full point of his obsessions and being straight up unkempt. He is hand painting everything himself. As far as we know, expensive custom-made outfits are a thing of the past.

Batman 2022

This is all from the army surplus store. Online sales. Estate sales. Wherever he could find and put the right outfit together. He's going to war with the world.

His outfit is the darkest which... makes sense because he's the one hiding in the dark. Taking advantage of it. Painting his symbol to make the outfit truly his.

Batman: Unburied humanizes all it's characthers soo well (except for Flass and Strange but even them I think their simplistic protrait is a result of them being representations of systemic issues instead of people), it's gorgeus.

In the end you understand and feel so deep for these characthers and their little moments that you just hope for the best for everyone. You can't stop yourself.

Not only that but after reading @starsoflyra notes on my original post I finaly can put into words one of the aspects that were more magical for me: the way the podcasts dismiss the idea that the problem is individual and not systemic.

When B.U present it's villans, specially Riddler, Poison Ivvy and the Harverster, the podcast show them as terrible people, but also as humans, who feel and bleed and suffered and are passible of change. It makes clear that while they are responsable for what they did the only thing really stopping them for becaming better people is the system that raised them, it's Arkaham's lack of suport and the blind eye we turn for atrocites behind white picked fences. They can change, but they need help and society doesn't help criminals, it doesn't even help the mentaly ill on general, imagine criminals.

But it can. B.U shows a horrible reality and them ofters hope in the little things: It's Bruce putting Pamela's body in the tree even though it could be a lie because she deserves to at least die in peace, it's Bruce promising King Tut that he won't let the doctors in Arkham mistreat him again, it's Barbara telling Ed he deserves more than being beaten up his whole life. In showing that there are still people who care, who are figthing and trying to make a substancial diference even of these people themselfs are failable it presents hope. Hope that as long as there is figth we have a chance of endind this cycles.

And more important by ofering this hope, this small acts of kindness and this belief that the criminals they figth are humans and deserve to be treatead as people and to have a real shot in rehabilitation it shows makes them really heroic. Flawed people who are still symbols of hope. And it creates that sense - one that I didn't feel in most mainstream superhero media since I was a young kid - that Bruce actually can heal Gotham. That while it will always be crime, he will still be able to make the city an actual good place to live in. And I never knew I missed the wonder of actually beliving in the superhero until I had it back.

there's the acidic burn in air , the promise of snow as temperatures dip for gotham city. the batman looks over at the other , the ground littered with those who had been collateral in their defense. heart beating fast the adrenaline that he had so badly needed for such a deed. ❛ hey , ... wasn't sure you could keep up ❜ the threading of humor for such a night. they had been outnumbered assassin's at every turn , and the batman can feel his grip upon his own mask slip slightly. there's always the sting of injuries that have not quite healed , the rush of such injuries temporarily have him extend a hand , and his gloved fingers curl around a fire escape that hangs.

the want to not appear weak , the need to ensure for HIMSELF that he was okay to carry on. ❛ though i can always count on you ❜ grey eyes look over at the other , his frame adjusting ever so as his back straightens and shadows elongate frame. grey eyes rimmed in charcoal black there's something that lingers beneath gaze ; vulnerability ? the awareness that the other had indeed seen him weakened.

❛ they're gonna wake up soon ❜ the batman then allows gloved fingertips to leave fire escape as he bends down , with great effort. and his fingers reach for the masks that cover those who are unconscious , ❛ i won't be able to make a proper ID but , we'll get somewhere ... ❜ his head falling gently to the right as the faces one of the assassin's remind him so much of faces that he's seen smiling into the camera of an archived photo. a photo that had been found within the journals of jeremiah arkaham ... the past , it's always there staring back at him. the batman is quick to remember self , and he shares his observations with the other.

❛ whoever sent them our way knew exactly what they were doing .... i doubt they have any real identification - no fingerprints no true marks of DNA ❜

the batman looks up at the other , ❛ this kind of technology has been whispered about , but i've yet to see it ... just when gotham couldn't get worse , i have a hunch you know more about this then i do , am i right ? ❜

Reacting to Batman vs TMNT

Part 3:

-huh, look at that, I miscalculated:

Hufflepuff is on the lead with 55 points, Slytherin follows with 35, then gryffindor with 30 and ravenclaw with 20.

Come on, Donnie you can do better!

-so. Mikey pulls out an awesome chart.

Un like the others, who have a more human face design, and who's expressions are more highlited. Maybe he got the genes from that part of the tree (so to say) fascinating.

Agora a história da Arlequina é divertida e meio nojenta, com direito a excrementos e vômitos 🤢 (meu cafe da manhã deu uma revirada no estômago enquanto escrevo isso 🤢). Mas é sensacional como algumas histórias dela são escrachadas e fazem brincadeiras "de moleques". Qto mais leio sobre a Arlequina mais gosto dela! If Riddler had became the mayor of Arkham City after Joker's death alongside Two-Face as his lieutenant/second-in-command, how different would things for him and Two-Face be if he was responsible for a brand new city fill of criminals? And what happens if Harley Quinn and Scarecrow wanted to take over and started making plans on how to do it? Note: This scenario will happen in Arkham 'Verse.

[dies laughing because this is my first ask and it’s ridiculously hard to answer]

Honestly, beyond how they may or may not interact with the Joker, I don’t really know that much about Riddler, Two Face, and Scarecrow in any universe or canon; they never really captured my interest (no offence to their fans!).

That being said, as far as I know, Riddler is obsessed with proving his intelligence and making an idiot out of Batman (before killing him) while Harvey/Two Face is interested in cleaning up Gotham City and stealing back mob money, respectively (within the confines of the Arkham’verse). Therefore, I honestly don’t see them working together for too many reasons (although I know they work together with other people to try and kill Batman).

However, for the sake of argument, if they were to work together as mayor and second in Arkham City… I don’t think it would go over too well?

Not 100% sure on this, but I think they’d have too many conflicts of interest. Killing Batman would be about the only thing they agree on. Riddler isn’t interested in cleaning up Gotham (again: all he’s into is his inferiority complex and the Batman) and neither Two Face nor Harvey are interested in proving anyone’s intelligence (they’re both men that rely on a COIN FLIP for literally every decision in their life now; they’re interested in FATE, not choice).

There’s also the problem of Riddler’s interest in Batman’s true identity.

In the Arkham’verse, Riddler has this answer narrowed down to two: Bruce Wayne and Harvey Dent. Due to his perpetual need to prove his own superiority and intelligence, I think the riddle of Who is Batman? would be seen by Riddler as his greatest challenge and the answer to said riddle as his Magnum Opus. Because of this, I think any one-on-one interaction with Two Face or Harvey would only be in the interest of figuring out who is who.

This wouldn’t really make for a good power couple, in my opinion.

However, since you’re really asking what it would be like for them to rule Arkham City together… I think it would only be for the purpose of killing the Bat. Again: this is basically the only thing they both agree on. If they have the whole of Arkahm City behind them, they’d probably pose a pretty substantial threat to Batman and be fairly hard to beat.

The Bat would still win, of course.

This is mostly because, even with all of Arkahm City behind them, their tactics and methods for dealing with the Bat probably wouldn’t have changed all that much. It would literally be: gather the inmates (again) and throw ‘em at the Bat!

First one to keep his leather-clad ace down for the count gets a free pass on a riddle/coin toss!

All jokes aside, though: them teaming up seems pretty boring to me… (sorry).

For the Harley and Scarecrow team up… I’m not 100% on that, either.

I could see Harley wanting to take over Arkham City for the simple purpose of having lackies to help her take on the Bat (mostly because she’d probably blame him for Joker’s death [even though I’m pretty sure they said she stole the cure from Joker after retrieving it from Freeze…]), but I’m pretty sure Scarecrow would only want those same lackies for experimentation purposes. This means they’ll have a conflict of interest because the lackies would be totally useless to Harley if they’re all freaking out and catatonic from Scarecrow’s fear gas.

That being said, they’d probably end up fighting during the negotiations.

And Harley would either get gassed as Scarecrow runs away or go down with one hit like she did with the Bat in Arkaham City (seriously, that was just annoying; I like to think that if they allowed Harley to actually be HARLEY [that is: an intelligent psychologist that’s also a strong gymnast], she’d beat Scarecrow’s butt, instead.).

All of THAT being said… Considering the fact that they’re all villains or criminals because they rebel against authorities, I don’t really think Arkham City would make sense with a mayor; a leading force, sure, but a mayor?

No.

I just can’t see it.

Just like I can’t really see these partnerships (again, sorry).

Personal Medical Log: Recording Number 41

Date is: 3rd of the February 1967.

Time: is 9: 45 pm

Location: Arkaham Asylum

Asylum, what a strange word to use for a place such as this. Asylum, where those of faith will seek sanctuary to be safe from the damned and sinful. But this place is for the sinful and the damned, the sick that came here are not here for salvation but for to be stashed away from the normal. The small minds the normal have, no ambition, no precedence for brilliances but they are more than willing to lockdown anything they deem unordinary. They divide people, all kinds of people for so many reasons, from their skin to a woman speaking her mind. They all end up here, now don’t get me wrong I’m not saying all the people here are righteous and misplaced, far from it. I am simply saying that I deem people, all people as individuals, as there are commonalities in groups of people, but no result is ever the same.

The truly sick can never hide what they are, at least not from one who knows the signs, and believe me I know the signs. Fear, fear is what drives them, I understand fear, it is an old friend and a guiding light in dark times and for the longest time I only analysed fear.

What is fear?

The hippocampus is closely aligned with the amygdala, the hippocampus and the prefrontal cortex, this help’s the brain interpret perceived and even unperceived threats. They are implicated in higher-level in the processing of internal and external contexts, this helps a person know whether a supposed threat is real. For the laymen fear is an unpleasant emotion caused by the threat of danger, pain, or harm. Fear is many things, it is your lifeline when everything else is unclear, it can also be what leads you to your death. It holds the key to the evolutionary processes that has allowed us to be the dominant species on this planet, without fear there is no life. Life I hold in my hands.

Today my patient is one Mr Noah Kuttler.

Patient number: C-483

Mr Kuttler has a nasty habit of shredding nasty rumours around the cell blocks and having some wild spasms that cause many to disembark from his company. Now he is on my table today to go through some more therapy. Prior to today I have been using Insulin Coma Therapy, although this has been effective for his body, his mind has not yet felt the full force of fear, so I am making the switch to Metrazol Therapy. This will allow Mr Kuttler to have more conciseness in his sessions and retain information of his time here, I will also be adding a contaminant of my own design, it will enhance the activity in the amygdala this will allow for a better look at the effects of long-term fear exposure.

Time: 10: 16 pm

The world is getting more filled with fear every day, after Kennedy was shot the whole country had a wave of fear wash over it. So naturally, ‘we’ started a war in a country we have no business being in, its Korea all over again. Everyone started losing their minds as fear took over, everyone is after ‘us’ the Russians, the Vitamise, the ‘China men’, it’s all the same. People trying to take control of their fear by pushing it onto something that can be ‘fixed’, someone they can kill and then all the fear will go way. I know better than most that that is a rare and elusive result.

Other’s think they can run from the fear. Trying hard to get into orbit, ‘The Great Space Race’, the papers call it, I fail to see what is so great in stretching far past our reach before ‘we’ are ready. The dark fear of space though terrifying, is not one I consider viable in any of my work, arrogant as that may be. I am a self-admitted hubristic man, but I am not one to be derailed from my work due to outlandish possibilities. I will move my work forward at the pace it is able to do, I will let it tell me where I need to do. I may be reaching for the stars, but I have no interest in being among them.

I say there is another way that other indirectly do not deal with their fears, it is through blind unadulterated hatred. Take the riots a few years back, I don’t even think the riots have anything to do with law’s being pasted, mind you I am not suggesting that this is not the case for other places, but Gotham has always had a flare for the dissident and basically will take just about any and all excuses to have some kind of revolt. It is one of the many reasons I moved here, any place that quick to anger must have deep rooted fear in its walls and peeking out of every crack of its concrete.

But too every action is an equal reaction, in this case the wave of these fears is being challenged but what was been dubbed ‘The Summer of love’. The young have always been one’s of misplaced optimism, unaware of the real pain that awaits then when they finally wrap the minds around the true nature of life’s privations.

Or perhaps I am being optimistic, after all my life has always fallen on the penury side of things. Those of opulence temperaments and overindulgences, may never face the consequences of the vexatious parts of life. But that is not the only remedy that is trying to emerge in these troubled times. A man, a single man, has decide to try and wheeled the fear of Gotham as a weapon. Such a thing is of course, a vain attempt to give order to a city full of heretics. I am no exception for I heard the demon’s horn and came here of my own volition. But fear is not a weapon, it is a state of being, a contract of consequence, so fear on its own is a foolhardy weapon, for it can become regressive if over stimulated, one does not fear what they know is coming, even if that thing is initially horrifying. So, fear can be finite if you do not know how to truly harness it.

But I am starting to ramble.

Update:

Time: 10: 32 pm

I will be making two injections into Mr Kuttler. One of which will be 2mg’s of Metrazol and the other will be 3mg’s the aforementioned homemade compound. This will allow for stimulation and cognitive awareness of the fear that is big experienced. However, I am finding it hard to see, as my worktable is only lit by a three lantern’s mounted in front of me. It doesn’t allow for a lot of visibility but the shadow’s that the lantern’s cast are allowing me to do my work undisturbed by prying eyes and narrow minds.

The two injections have been administered; I am now waiting for a reaction. It should take about 1 minute and 45 seconds, then the seizures will set in, then the other compound will create hallucinations, this will continue for about 20 or so minutes, I will be monitoring his brain function and heart fluctuations, during this time. So far, my success rate has been rather lacklustre, but what can one expect since I have had to down grade in my facilities. Working like a dirty raccoon in the dark, I am doctor for god sake, with theses lanterns on the walls like this you would think I was some kind of plagued dwelt, cursed to not see the above world for the simple crime of being delusory. Well, in any case my work has continued, despite some’s best efforts.

Time: 11: 05 pm

Patient number: C-483

Name: Mr Noah Kuttler.

The procedure has been completed, and patient is alive and resting.

Note: The procedure of Metrazol Therapy, though violent has a minimal mortality rate in roughly about 10% or so, at any given trial lasting about 2 to 5 weeks. However, combined with my…Fear Toxin as it were, it has increased the overall risk to fatal outcome from 10% to about 30% to 40%. Though this has held back some prolonged testing, the overall outcomes have been somewhat successful.

I have had some less then desired results in the past and have had to take, unfortunate measures, I have had to schedule 4 lobotomy’s in the past few years and though it allows me to continue my work, the loss of a test subject is regrettable, as finding a replacement can be rather taxing. Though this basement with its lantern’s light, leaking pipes, cracked concrete with the smell of death, sulphur and swamp water, and a chill that is somehow muggy, may no be the best option or environment for my testing but I will take what I can get.

As for Mr Kuttler he is holding steady and will recover in a few hours of rest. I must say despite my setback’s I have been making the most of things. Now, I must wait until Mr Kuttler can be moved back to his cell.

Time: 1: 13 am

It would seem, that hiding in the shadow’s that these lanterns cast was only a temporary solution. I had hoped that a little more time would past before this location was found.

Bang. Thud. Bang

‘Open up, Crane…’

But I suppose that even a stopped clock is right twice a day and by the same token, every now and then, Arkham security actually can do its job with competence.

Bang.

‘We know you’re in there…’

That being said, I had timed my leave with Dr Julius cigarette run, he does like to share, so he runs out fastest, but it seems I have not done enough to cover for my whereabouts.

Bang. Thud.

‘Don’t make this harder than it needs to be...’

I currently have every few options. I can fight them, but after that there is no way for me to get out of here, I could kill them all, but I fear at these hours I no longer have the strength to do so. My only viable option is to destroy my work and continue at a later date, though it pains me to do.

Thud. Bang.

‘Get on the floor and come back to your cell quietly and we won’t use force…’

I will hide the recordings and hope that will be enough for me to continue. However, I will play with the security a little to make it more convincing.

Bang. Bang. Thud.

‘Crane…final warning, open the door…’

Thud. Thud. Crash

‘On the ground, Crane. Hands behind your head.’

Oh, shit.

‘Get on the ground, now…’
