Why do we waste so much time with sorrow and pity for ourselves? It is true now that we are [mature], but not so long ago we were helpless messes of soft flesh and unformed bone squeezing through bursting motherholes, trailing dung and exhausted blood. We could not ask then why it was necessary for us also to grow.
