Good morning Tumblr! I have some new art for you this fine Saturday!
This piece started as a study, trying to learn more about painting metal and armour. It escalated and soon it was obvious that it would become more than just a quick study.
Inspired by some of my favourite designs such as Warhammer and the Nilfgaardians in The Witcher video game series as well as historical armour from Germany and Italy during the the 15th-16th century.

God Speed by Edmund Blair Leighton
God Speed, which appeared at the RA in 1900, shows a young woman binding an embroidered sleeve on the arm of her knight as he departs, horsed, fully armed, and bearing a lance decorated with a pennant, for the tournament. Other knights have already passed beneath the portcullis and are entering the field of battle. The picture was the first of several painted by Blair Leighton in the 1900s in which a knight and his lady are seen in incidents illustrative of the code of chivalry; The Accolade followed in 1901, and The Dedication in 1908. The arms and armour which feature in all these pictures were no doubt in the artist's own collection, which is known to have included many examples.

For my first post Id like to give some details about Russia's most advance Tank in service: the T-90M Proryv-3
Now I know what you thinking-"isn't the T-14 Armata Russia's most advance tank?". Well it would be if it was actually in service, and while they can technically push it through at any given moment, its still very much undergoing testing(watch as they throw it into Ukraine next year and make this whole statement irrelevant).
New features it boasts:
Improved Protection thanks to the addition of the new Relikt ERA(Explosive Reactive Armor) blocks, and overall better coverage of the ERA blocks on the turret and the side of the Hull, and even some additional ERA blocks covering the front mud guards above the tracks. Overall the protection vs Kinetic rounds from the front will be around 750mm to 950mm(estimate) and 1200 Chemical. Important to note that the base composite armor on this tank is still the exact same as on the T-90A, and the internal layout is more or less, identical too with a few exceptions such as a new bustle ammo storage on the back of the turret designed to carry additional ammo that cant fit into the Autoloader. this Ammo storage cannot be accessed internally however so the crew must get out of the tank and remove ammo form the box to put them back inside the autoloader. There is also additional aluminum plating around the autoloader Ammo storage and Kevlar cloth placed around the interior of the Crew compartment both to stop spalling. While the Shtora Jammers were removed, the Turret is still fitted with several Laser Warning receivers to warn the crew when the tank is being marked by a laser, and will automatically turn the turret in the direction and deploy smoke.
Improved Fire Control System(AKA the ability to find, identify, and shoot stuff). The T-90M should be in possession of 3rd Generation thermal sights for the Gunner and unlike many Russian tanks, a 360 degree panoramic 3rd generation thermal imager for the tank Commander. This allows the Commander to scan for and identify targets even at night and then either have the gunner shoot or take control of the turret himself if he needs too. This represents a big step up for Russia as many of their tanks feature only small optics with no thermals for their commanders to view through. Attached to the commanders optic is also a remote controlled Machine gun, which in Russian service has always been the Kord Heavy machine gun(same found on most Russian T series tanks).
Slightly Improved Mobility despite the increase in weight. Previously the original T-90A weighed in at about 46 tones, and possessed a 1000 HP engine, giving it a power to weight ratio of about 21.5, while the new T-90M has a 1'130 HP engine, same as on the Modernized T-72B3, giving it a power to weight ratio of 23.5
Variants: Currently there's just one version of the T-90M in service with Russia, However there is the T-90MS, which is the export version of the T-90M. The T-90MS is almost identical to the Russian version, however in pictures it is often sporting a 7.7mm machine gun for the commanders station instead of the Kord found on Russian tanks, is usually dressed in a desert camo, and also seems to lack the ERA above the tracks on the front for whatever reason.
Overview: In simple terms the T-90M is more or less a large upgrade based on the original T-90A(which some might say is just an upgraded T-72B 1989) and in terms of how it stack to the rest of its Russian contemporaries that are also in service, its easy to say this is currently the best Tank in service with the Russian Federation, given its overall package. Does this tank fix the glaring Issues found on all Soviet and Russian tanks? Absolutely not, the autoloader ammo rack underneath the turret is still the biggest threat to crew safety if struck, The reverse gear is still a terrible -3MpH in reverse, and it still lacks decent gun depression, meaning that when it fights on a slope, it will often have to drive over an incline to be able to get its gun on target. Overall Id say the T-90M is a solid tank, but still suffers form its soviet flaws.

Today's Pixel Dailies Prompt was Armoured, so I naturally gravitated to making an Armoured Moo from Klonoa since I've been streaming the Phantasy Reverie Series over on my Twitch channel.
While I obviously could have made either of the main bodies smaller to accommodate the ears more, I just wanted to focus a little more on the main bodies on both the 8x8 and the 16x16. The colour palette I chose for the 16x16 sprite didn't quite have the colours I needed to feel like I could render it well. Either that or I'm trash at working in colour. Yeah, I'm probably just trash at working in colour. Anyways, here, have some teeny Moos. :>
