I don’t think it’s widely realized that everyone in the world thinks they’re good, and you don’t know if you’re actually good and idealistic until you check how you look to other people.

That’s totally true and this is a genuine source of danger, ironically. I used to believe all this stuff, too. I was a true believer in this kind of evangelical exceptionalism, the triumphalism of America as the 'shining city on a hill' in foreign policy, even though I could see that our domestic politics were a little messed up. And, in fact, for the foreign policy mandarins in DC, having external threats and being able to externalize America’s problems onto another is psychologically the salve and the psychic wage that prevents us from having to deal with our own problems.

And so, China is a godsend to the foreign policy establishment because it means that they don’t have to take a hard look at the American surveillance state, the de facto policing of Black communities, or the deep economic precarity of the majority of the population. They don’t have to face the threat of the far-right militias, or the way that politics is post-democratic in many senses, with the oligarchic political economy that we run — there’s no time for any of that. And also, there’s no time for the climate crisis either because we got to smite the big bad."

How does trans dimensional travel impact fighting.?

One of the revelations during the ufo hearing was the idea that ufos and yaps travel by trans dimensional ‘hopping.’

We can call this teleportation as that is the term Edgar Mitchell used when I spoke with him. He said he had seen things materialize out of thin air and it was real even though we don’t know how it happens. He said if we could figure this out it would revolutionize transportation.

The same week as the ufo hearing Beyond Skinwalker Ranch went to Navajo nation and learned about skinwalkers. Which are apparently ordinary people who join a cult to learn how to move fast. The initiation into the cult is to kill a family member. The rangers talking on camera said, it’s as if the ski walkers teleport. They open portals and emerge on the other side of a valley.

So, let’s assume that this faster than light travel is done extra dimensionally (read Flatland to understand this). And that individuals have the ability to move extra dimensionally. How does this impact 1 on 1 combat?

It would be interesting for a Sci Fi writer to think about and integrate. Also, cages and security would require extra dimensional building. Because just as a flat lander could not contain a human finger in 2d space using a square as the human can use the 3rd dimension to escape by simply lifting up, so too could anyone accessing extra dimensions 4-11 dimensions, use those extra dimensions to just lift out and leave.

The impact this could have as a writing prompt is cool to think about.

Also, if this is true ( and at the moment it’s a big IF, but not that big actually) it would mean harnessing the technology to make extra dimensional travel a reality would be the next arms race. AI is nothing compared to what this revolution in travel would mean. Think about it. What happens if terrorists can travel extra dimensionally and we can’t secure anything as it would require us building 11 dimension cages?
