Pidge and Hunk feel like the sort to know that romantically they'd never be into each other but they're platonic soulmates of a kind

coming from someone who is an aspec lesbian :)

It’s pride month, so I’m finally posting this! small disclaimer that none of this is canon and I am not insisting it is. you can have whatever character interpretations you desire

Ruby Rose (rwby) - canonically hasn’t shown attraction to anyone, definitely ace. I do however, think she may experience romantic attraction

Katniss Everdeen - definitely demisexual, I related so hard to her general disinterest in the love triangle situation. Perhaps demiromantic as well? I just know this girl is on the aro/ace spectrum

Eren Jaeger - tbh I think he’s baffled by the concept and was intentionally ignoring Mikasa’s affections to avoid that confusion. No sexual attraction, but not aromantic. I like to headcanon Eren as biromantic because I feel that he had feelings for both Mikasa and Armin, but that’s up to interpretation

Marella Redek - I just really relate to her keeping track of all the “attractive” boys to head off suspicion. Comphet or whatever. Asexual and biromantic is what I’m going with for her

Claudia (tdp) - I’m just projecting again, apparently she did actually like Callum? I forgot my original reasoning. Anyways, aspec and bi, or whatever orientation you please

Kate Harker - I know they kissed, I do not care. She hasn’t ever shown sexual or romantic attraction towards anyone. It just feels right to me.

August Flynn - again, I know they kissed. I just don’t think there was any sexual or romantic attraction there, just stress and finally breaking down barriers. Is is problematic to headcanon a non-human as aro/ace? Probably, but I don’t care. he is relatable.

Pidge (vld) - she’s the green character, so obviously that means she’s aro. I never got into the fandom, so let me know if there are any interesting gender headcanons for Pidge!

Merida - a literal aroace (arrow ace)! Related so hard to her disgust at the idea of marriage. I love lesbian headcanons for her too

Spensa Nightshade - demisexual! she’s purple, do I need more proof? The way her crushes are written in Skyward just feel different from descriptions I’ve read in other books. Like, they’re only romantic.

Also, shout out to Lilith Clawthorne and Yelena Belova for being canonically aroace characters! I’m very happy that we’re starting to get some rep :)

go ahead and respond with your own ace character headcanons or alternate headcanons for these characters, I think it’s cool to see other peoples analyses!

a frustrating part of the tumblr search function, is that I could type in 'merthur' and posts tagged 'anti merthur' will show up because the post contains the word 'merthur.' same with anti aroace stuff in the aroace tags

I just realized that Pidge and Allura are the two that are closest in age on the Castle ship at the beginning of the show and that changes the way I view the entire dynamic of Team Voltron

#Pidge is 15/16 at the beginning of the show #and Allura is described consistently as a teenager but it’s not entirely clear what ‘teenager’ means for Alteans #and whether or not Allura can be described as a teenager in human age or Altean age #I’m also unsure if there’s an existing conversion from human age to Altean age and vice versa #anyway in terms of like shipping the only person I’m comfortable shipping Pidge with is Allura #and even then there’s really no chemistry between them #I like Romelle x Allura much better #and I adore the idea of Pidge being an aroace genderqueer character #vld posting #voltron legendary defender #vld pidge #vld allura

I feel like Pidge only knows to joke about certain crushes if they follow really obvious signs or like tropes. I absolutely think she'd bully Lance about Allura and then later have no fucking clue about him having feelings for Keith because he's a lot more subtle about it and is like "what?! No I bet Hunk so much money that he was just shipping for the sake of it! No! Lance why would you do this to me?!"

I also think this interpretation of Pidge was initially out to the team as a lesbian and would joke she'd get a girlfriend before Lance did, only to begin discovering that she's maybe more on the aroace side of things and would be a little pissed off that this would mean Lance probably would get a girlfriend before her
