He listens to the radio while he does (I mean he is the radio demon-)

Has offered to let you try venison (raw) and demon (also raw)

You both give each other song recommendations (I like to think he enjoys most genres of music)

Dancing in the evenings as sunset peeks through the windows

He taught you a lot of dances (If you know how to dance, you taught him some as well)

Will sing to the songs he knows while you dance together

If you ask he might sing you to sleep

Has asked before if he could take a bite of your flesh (Again, he is a cannibal. But he respects you)

You take walks together

You try to find decent cafès or hole-in-the-wall restaurants to go to, this is usually difficult and most of the time you end up taking him to somewhere in cannibal town

He loves when you discuss music with him

You bash on Susan together

Alastor hates when you mention the “box faced man” that “seems to have a homoerotic crush on him” (your words, not his)

He gets all quiet and won’t look you in the eye when he is mad

He tries to distance himself and you take that as a sign to give him space to cool down

If he is just annoyed he will roll his eyes

But for you though, he doesn't seem to take the hint when you get annoyed or mad

This may cause you to give him the silent treatment (He understands at that point)

It’s a little unhealthy

You’ll learn to communicate better (he just might be a little.. difficult at times)

Like a true gentleman he will give your hand a kiss as a greeting

You both give each other forehead kisses

I like to think that he will just hold your hands randomly and play with your fingers

It’s cute

If you make him flustered he will lay his ears against his head

If you want to and play your cards right, he might let you cuddle together

The Witch Came Back

When I was young, I had gotten cursed by a witch. 20 years have passed since then. The curse was actually a gift that I didn't quite realize at the time. I've gotten used to in, and really, I love it. No one will ever want to date or sleep with me.

Then, the witch showed back up in my life. "Don't you want to get rid of this curse? There is a way."

"No thanks. I quite like this curse. I don't ever want to get rid of it."

At the time, I hadn't realized what a blessing it was, but now I knew better.

"Huh? But, this was meant to be a trial. So that you could earn true love."

"Unless that true love is platonic, I don't want it."

"You were supposed to break this curse, or at least try, several years ago!" Her brows furrowed.

"Well, I don't want or need to. I am comfortable with this life. I don't want people to start finding me attractive. Plus, this has helped me get some great friendships that I know won't become anything more!"

"B-but... This isn't how it was meant to go at all."

"Yeaaah, I get that a lot. Most of my family expected me to be married by now, or have kids of my own. Although, I do want to adopt, I don't want to get married."

The witch sighed. "I suppose I cursed the wrong kid. This was supposed to turn into an epic love story for my own entertainment. I'll just have to try again."

"Good luck with that!"

a little secrety secret from me: i think one of my biggest reasons for being able to develop individual characters so thoroughly is bc im aroace. like today i was just reminded that people actually spend time being upset that they dont have a significant other, or spend time thinking about their crush. like,, these are things i dont remember real people do, much less fictional characters. i focus on the individual characters more because, in my eyes, they're entirely separate from their s/o. dont get me wrong, this can become a struggle in writing (like i forget that they would think about their s/o when they're not with them yk), but as for character development, it's so,, easy? like i dont have issues trying to separate them from one another or making them have a personality beyond their s/o, bc, realistically, all they are to me are individual characters. like yes they are my "pairing" but that's all in fanfic technicality yk. i dont sit around and think about them as a pairing because its something i want, its because its something that they as characters already have. like their romantic relationships include limited to no projection from me, whereas their characters have projection galore, so that's what i actually enjoy focusing on

asexuality is not an inconvenience. it isn't a burden to change your conversation topics to avoid making a sex repulsed asexual feel uncomfortable or unsafe. it isn't about you if an asexual romantic or life partner does not want to have sex. it's none of your business if an asexual person has frequent sex, or makes money off of their body or sexuality. it's not an attempt to manipulate you when an asexual/aceflux person has fluctuating levels of sex favorability, neutrality and/or repulsion.

someone else's asexuality isn't about you, it is not inherently overstepping your boundaries. forcing the asexual person to cope or deal with things that make them uncomfortable or go against the way they want to live their lives is overstepping their boundaries, and people need to accept this.

Hi hello hi. As an AroAce individual in a QPR who has no desire for a romantic or sexual relationship, I think shipping Alastor in QPRs is so so fun and people should do it more. I also think it works for a good amount if not all of the ships I've seen him in.

Alastor and Rosie: Hell yeah. They're already great friends and every interaction we've seen between them has been pure and adorable. Rosie Gently guiding Alastor through his identity because he isn't exactly up with the slang. Them going out for tea and human flesh Sunday afternoons. Them giving each other forehead kisses and holding hands platonically.

Alastor and Angle dust: Mhmm. Angle not really wanting Sex or romance after all he's been through. Angle respecting Alastor's identity and not pushing for anything more than friendship. Alastor not really liking Angle at first because of their differences, But tolerating him regardles. Alastor explaining to Angle that Romantic relationships don't have to involve Sex (I'm an Asexual Angle truther.) Angle offering Alastor a hug that Alastor reluctantly accepts. Them cuddling at night with a pinky Promise of nothing more.

Alastor and Vox: Go ahead. A fic about Alastor trying to Navigate exactly how he feels about Vox, Because when he died the term AroAce didn't exist, so he thinks it's romantic attraction, Maybe they kiss and Alastor is like "Ha! No!" Maybe that's why they had their falling out? Who knows.

Alastor and Lucifer: So So SO much Yes. (This is my personal favorite) The two of them hating each other, but putting up for each other for Charlie's sake. Slowly growing to actually tolerate and maybe even like being around the other. Exchanging snarky remarks in a more playful way. Alastor finding Lucifer sitting in a pile of ducks and despair and offering his hand to help him up and take him to the hotel. Never letting go of his hand. Fuck Enemies to Friends to Lovers I want an Enemies to Friends to Qpr arc goddamnit.

I do think it's okay to ship Alastor even outside of QPR's, BUT. If you do, don't just ignore Alastor's identity. AroAce people get far less representation than the rest of the LGBTQ+ community. I can think of one other canon Character off the top of my head. So it's not okay to erase the little rep we do get. In the end I think it's important to listen to what AroAce people have to say on the matter, it is our representation after all.

if you see a male character kiss a male character, you assume they are gay.

if you see a female character kiss a female character, you assume they are a lesbian.

if you hear a character say they don't feel like their gender, you assume they are trans.

so why do a-spec characters have to jump through so many loops?

a character saying they've never had a crush or don't want a relationship or that they don't understand romantic love is so often ignored or used as fodder for other queer or autistic headcanons (reinforcing stereotypes that aroace people are secretly gay or always autistic)

why is it that our stories are always "up to interpretation"? why do we have to wait for the words aromantic or asexual to be said to be taken seriously? why is it that even when characters say they don't want relationships, fans will scream and cry about sex/romance favourable aspecs and qprs?

when it comes to gay and trans characters, even the likes of bisexual lighting is often treated as though it canonises their sexuality. for aroace characters, even the most explicit coding possible is swept under the rug in favour of other "interpretations"

i'm so tired of fighting for representation just to have it ignored and minimised by fans. let characters be aroace. please.

#obviously there are a ton of circumstances where the qpr and sex/romance favourable is completely fine #but when characters explicity say they dont have sex or dont want relationships it feels so hollow #fandom is fandom and there is nothing i can do to stop you shipping or writing smut or headcanoning or whatever #but please just think it through. the characters aren't real but there are so many geniunely harmful ideas doing stuff like this reinforces #rhi rambles #aroace #aromantic #asexual #a-spec #a spec #aspec #aro #ace #aspec representation #asexual representation #aromantic representation #lgbtq+ #queer

I wish some aces would stop excluding other aces with complex sexual experiences. like I get why but you have to realize that being ace does not mean they don't enjoy sexual experiences and it's weird when you complain about allo people and boil it down to "people who have sexual experiences" and also shame people for their sex life and kinks as if your own community doesnt INCLUDE those people. because there are other aces out there who still masturbate, who feel sexually attracted to their own body, who barely experiences sexual attraction but still enjoys sex, who like consuming sexual media, who like sfw kink. being ace is so so much more complex than just "disliking sex". and also aromantic exclusionism in the same genre of posts is something i see a lot. especially aro allos. I hate hate hate seeing a community that SHOULD be inclusive boil down sexuality and exclude people.
