Of all the lotr horses why does absolutely no one talk about Arod??? LIKE- HES THE GOODEST BOY.

He's the unofficial third wheel when aragorn isn't around, he loves to trot, and legolas calls him his friend in the books!! Like please I love him so much you guys give him some love.

Friendly reminder that the one time Gimli got onto a horse for the first time and hated it so much that he was compared to Sam in a boat, who had multiple paragraphs dedicated to how much he hated boats.

'It may be well enough for this lord of the race of Gondor, as he claims,' he said, 'but who has heard of a horse of the Mark being given to a Dwarf?'

'No one,' said Gimli. 'And do not trouble: no one will ever hear of it. I would sooner walk than sit on the back of any beast so great, free or begrudged.'

'But you must ride now, or you will hinder us,' said Aragorn.

'Come, you shall sit behind me, friend Gimli, said Legolas. Then all will be well, and you need neither borrow a horse nor be troubled by one.'

A great dark-grey horse was brought to Aragorn, and he mounted it. 'Hasufel is his name,' said Éomer. 'May he bear you well and to better fortune than Gárulf, his late master!'

A smaller and lighter horse, but restive and fiery, was brought to Legolas. Arod was his name. But Legolas asked them to take off saddle and rein. 'I need them not,' he said, and leaped lightly up, and to their wonder Arod was tame and willing beneath him, moving here and there with but a spoken word: such was the elvish way with all good beasts. Gimli was lifted up behind his friend. and he clung to him, not much more at ease than Sam Gamgee in a boat.

'Farewell, and may you find what you seek!' cried Éomer. 'Return with what speed you may, and let our swords hereafter shine together!'

'I will come,' said Aragorn.

'And I will come, too,' said Gimli. 'The matter of the Lady Galadriel lies still between us. I have yet to teach you gentle speech. '

'We shall see,' said Éomer. 'So many strange things have chanced that to learn the praise of a fair lady under the loving strokes of a Dwarf's axe will seem no great wonder. Farewell!'

With that they parted. Very swift were the horses of Rohan. When after a little Gimli looked back, the company of Éomer were already small and far away. Aragorn did not look back: he was watching the trail as they sped on their way, bending low with his head beside the neck of Hasufel.

Meteos March day 30: Accessorize!

In certain games of the Meteos franchise, you can put accessories on your characters. In Meteos Online, the human avatar can wear items and clothing. In that same game, Geolytes can be seen dressed up in winter attire in the winter version of their planet, or holding dango in the spring version of their planet as well. In Meteos Wars, the aliens of the planet you play as can wear various objects such as a piece of meat of an alien on their heads. And in the more obscure Meteos for Kakao, the Geolyte an the Forter can be seen wearing accessories (a crown and a bow, respectively) as an alternate variant of their icons.

Laughter filled Gimli's ears then, driving away the last whispers of that strange rustling; the bright and silvery laughter of many elves. He forced himself to look up from the curtain of gold that embraced him, and he saw Ladinion and Merilgais and Duinthonnas standing close and smiling at him; other elvish faces, familiar now for all their beardless smoothness, stood behind them; Thranduil and Eregemgil hovered expressionless at the farthest edge of the gathering, Arod snuffling unnoticed at the crown of berries and leaves that encircled the elvenking's gold head.

"What of the horse?" he croaked, still half-dazed. "What of Arod?"

Legolas set Gimli back upon his feet and drew back enough to look over his shoulder at the horse (now nibbling a berry; did Thranduil indeed not notice, or simply not care?) although he did not yet lift his hands from Gimli's shoulders.

From Coming Home Under The Trees, a story of Legolas and Gimli journeying together to Mirkwood (or Eryn Lasgalen, now) after the War of the Ring which I swear I am still working on see? I'm so sorry that last chapter was not meant to be a cliffhanger I'm so sorry.
