Taking a photo to show you all is pending until the light is better and I have more opportunities to be covert, but I finished sewing an 18th century (inspired) pocket that I began... at least a year ago this evening while watching a few more episodes of the Pride and Prejudice miniseries.

Since I know P&P back to front and sideways, I don't strictly need to have my eyes on the screen the whole time to know exactly what is going on from the dialogue and music cues, which made it a good candidate for crafting TV. It took me about three and a half episodes to finish from where I had left off last.

I originally bought the kit to make it for my mum for Christmas in, like, I think 2021 or 2022? She didn't get around to sewing it herself and I offered to do it, but it has been very stop and start with multiple months long hiatuses between when I pick it up. My sewing is like... not great and very inconsistent both with the size of my stitches and the straightness of seams, but I am glad that I got it done in time for Mother's Day on Sunday (calm down, it probably won't be Mother's Day in your country). Also, I haven't been doing a lot of handwork of any kind for the past few years, due largely to The Horrors, so it is nice to finish something.

hii!! here’s an illustration i worked on in the summer and have been dyingg to post since then. i made it for a project the william morris society youth forum ran celebrating 150 years of morris’ poem ‘love is enough’ and 50 years of UK pride. it was such a honour to get to work with them and at the society and i hope i get a chance to do it again in the future!! this piece explores the relevance of morris’ poem to a modern day queer audience and utilises wlw/nblw tropes and symbolism to characterise these .. characters. i spoke a little bit more about it in a video that im just about to post <3 i hope u like it cus it’s one of my most favourite things i’ve ever done, and if u do then u can now own a print of it!! all the info is in my bio :))

Stamping made by using Walnut Stain Distress Oxide ink and “Reflections” stamps by Tim Holtz. Finger prints are my own and made using the Walnut stain ink pad also.

A six year old was struggling because her ballerina picture wasn't what she had imagined, she threw the first picture out in tears and started anew. There were mistakes in this version two so it had to be discarded. On the third try she made a picture that she was happy with. That picture was a picture made by a six year old and not Monet but she was happy with it.

I've struggled with being mediocre. I've struggled with being perceived by others as lacking or imagining it.

But for that six year old, who cried because the picture didn't fit the one she had in her head I give you this ballerina
