Look, I actually made it for 2022 too somehow! It's been 1 year of being on insta and it's tolerable as a social platform lol. I've been pretty productive, definitely more than I did in the last 6+ years. I even forgot I was doing Benthiary art prompts in the early months! These were works that I'm especially proud of this year... 💖🌻🌿
In terms of my mental health, well! It's a rollercoaster as usual. I'm not sure whether I'm dealing with life good enough but I'm just here. I poured a lot of it into some of my works here, so that's cathartic in a way 💌
I posted this on the last day of me being at Australia. Finally remembering to post it here too ✨

Cala Maria’s yassification
“Wedding Day”- March 2022
“That Pose”-August 2022
Can we explain how these two drawings were drawn in the same six months by the same person? Easy, they are both from different art eras. “Wedding Day” was drawn in the Pre-CalArts Rejection era (10 January, 2022 - 19 March, 2022). “That Pose” was drawn during the Yassification era (5 August, 2022 - present day)
Why am I posting this? Because today is the 6-month anniversary of getting my CalArts rejection letter. Instead of dwelling on it, I have decided to celebrate the small improvements I’ve made in the last six months. Yes, I was very depressed when I was rejected from CalArts, but I was definitely a turning point in my art. I began to resent my own art for a while, however, as I was improving, I’ve learned the importance of keeping my old art. My old art shows my flaws in the past and how I’ve improved since then.
I’m currently in a different in-state university, fyi. I am making friends and enjoying my time, however, I am kind of unhappy with what I am studying. To fulfill the void of not studying film/animation, I am working on an animated short film set to release in 2023.
