Anyways it's always great fun finding highlights for each month… but I also realised while choosing just how much I drew in March, August, and October?! What art chemicals were going through my brain those months??
But yeah since I only made a tumblr blog this year here's last years art summary for comparison:

“Do you know where we’re going?” He asks and she almost lets out what sounds like a laugh. But she holds it back. Hiding it like her face is hidden from him.
“No, no one knows where they’re going in here,” she says and he blinks, stopping. She takes a couple steps before she notices he’s stalled and stops herself. When she turns to him, she’s far too calm for his liking.
“Then shouldn’t we go back while we still know which way back is?” He asks, gesturing behind him with the hand that holds the flame and she shakes her head, instead taking steps toward him and grabbing his free arm.
“It’ll be fine,” she says, this little twinkle in her eye that he’s almost about to fall for and forget all his worries. Before he comes to his senses, though. They don’t have enough food to survive being lost in a cave. “Don’t you trust me?”
“With my life,” he replies easily, holding her gaze, “but I don’t trust this cave.”
And she says, “then trust me, I want to show you something.”
Summery:  After the war Zuko asks Katara to help him find his mother and she agrees. While in the Earth Kingdom, Katara decides to take him on a site seeing trip. And then they talk a lot. I was tagged by @waitmyturtles (thank you <3) to do the spotify random list. I don't use Spotify - so I shall put my current personal playlist on shuffle and list the first 10 songs that play. I have music on here from yesterday and from 15 years ago, so this is going to be fun! :D
BigBang - Fantastic Baby
youtube
I heard this song my first year in China. I had never heard K-Pop before hahaha. I've had a soft spot for this song since then, as it was the first non-chinese song I'd heard in public in nearly a year.
2. Paloma Faith - Upside Down
youtube
I went to an open-mic night at a bar in China between two of the covid lockdowns in 2021 and an acquaintance of mine sang this song. I love the genre and the lyrics.
3. Proxie - Silent Mode
youtube
Look, the music from My School President hooked me, I watched the concert, and then found so many amazing Thai artists from there. Proxie is one of them.
4. Demon Hunter - Carry Me Down
youtube
This song has been in my playlists for so long, I don't remember when or how I found it lol
5. Gemini and Fourth - You're Blushing
youtube
I like both of their voices and this song is light and summery. But let's be honest - I have every MSP OST and adjacent song in this playlist.
6. Elvis Presley x JXL - A Little Less Conversation
youtube
Throwback to high school. From an AMV playlist curated by my group of friends who turned out to all be queer - not surprising from a group of art and D&D nerds!
7. Ava Max - Kings and Queens
youtube
I tend to search for FMV's for all my obsessions (old habit from highschool days) and this song was used for a multi fandom edit. It went straight into my girl power song category :p
8. Pet Shop Boys - It's a Sin
youtube
For some reason, considering how into classic rock and older music my whole family is, this song didn't cross my radar until it was on a Bad Buddy playlist here on Tumblr. How could I not love it?
9. IVE - Love Dive
youtube
Another multi fandom song edit. That edit used a male cover of this song, but as I have no idea who the artist is (sorry!) I'm linking the original IVE version here.
10. 5 Seconds of Summer - Teeth
youtube
The art teacher at the kindergarten I taught at loved this song. Every time we had to stay late to do prep work, we'd blast it at full volume. I think it has also been used as a fan edit favourite for almost every single romantic pairing ever.
It's missing some of my top favourite artists and songs, as well as some that are currently on repeat, but not a bad random selection of my musical taste. It's been fun! I've been taking notes of songs to check out from everyone else's lists, so tag me in if you do do this. If you've been tagged before, ignore this, and if you want to do it and haven't been tagged, take this as your invitation! @sorry-bonebag, @petrichoraline, @chalkrevelations, @toastedpoptartsarelife, @user-patpran

Artist Summery!
2020, 2021 And now 2022!!
I'm really happy to see how my art has become more appealing and how I've grown as an artist despite not having a teacher or someone behind me tutoring or anything, just by pure self experimentation and progress.
This year I believe it wasn't the best year for my art to shine as per the fact I haven't had the time to put into them as much as I would've like to, yet it's nothing I was able to control due to academics.
Overall still sorta enjoy the outcome of this year's resume.

Plumeria Han and Butterfly Jun
I don't have a lot of figs by this artist, so I enjoy the ones I have! They're a bit smaller and thinner than most of mine, so they have a more delicate air about them.
This set is actually even more delicate because it's made out of resin. I like resin figs because of the fine detail that the material makes possible, but they give me all kinds of heart palpitations because of their fragility.
Tumblr media
Luckily, they arrived perfectly! You can tell they are resin because of the plastic cutout foam shipping box - this is standard due to the extra level of protection needed. The shipping box also came with this incredibly cute artwork on the outside!
The inspiration for these figs comes from this much-loved series of pictures of Zhehan with plumeria flowers.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Junjun wore his butterfly shirt during filming on the Chinese Restaurant show (June 2021).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Very handsome, and very summery! Perfect for a beachy vacation indeed.
Tumblr media
Here these figs are, being adorable with the box. I really should put them in my Instagram diorama box with a bunch of sand and shells. Look forward to that, my delightful figthusiast friends!
Tumblr media
You can tell I really struggled to take a pic of them head on. I kept wanting Junjun to take Zhehan's pic!
Tumblr media
This is a particularly cute side view. You can really see the blush on Zhehan's cheeks and his legs.
Tumblr media
I rarely see two brown-haired figs in a Junzhe set together, so this is a nice sun-kissed beachy look. You can really see the height difference here.
Tumblr media
Poor Zhehan looks like he got some sun on the back of his legs!
Tumblr media
Here's a close up of the adorable art.
Tumblr media
And the the other side of the box, showcasing more of these two cuties. Both artistic renderings are the same height here, which is definitely not the case when they became figs!
Material: Resin
Fig Count: 132
Diorama Count: 7
Snowglobe Count: 1
Rating: Look at the camera, bao!

Getting Barrelled
by SarcastCity
After taking a moment to decipher the writing on the bottom of the frame, Caitlyn learned that all the picture was of the winner of the annual surfing competition held in Zaun. The picture was gorgeous. The surfer was perched on his board, expression determined as his fingers stretched out to the side to drag through the wall of a perfect barrel.
Caitlyn felt that same tug she had felt since she was young whenever she saw the ocean, and turned toward the owner of the bike shop,
“I was wondering…do you have any recommendations for good spots to surf?”
OR
It's the Surfing AU! (and my contribution to the City of Progress Discord server summer collection, "A Taste of Summer")
Marine biologist Caitlyn comes to Zaun to research a pod of dolphins, and she meets Vi.
They surf together and just generally have an incredibly fun, summery, gay time.

This 1960s trailblazer of erotic pop art died just as she was finding fame
Throughout Evelyne Axell’s short but radical career, the Belgian artist revered the female body in psychedelic hues rendered in gleaming enamel. Nude women recline in acid green or cerulean blue fields under open skies; in one portrait, bodies and landscape become indistinguishable, with rings of colors forming the volume of a perm and tufts of grass the pubic hair.
She delighted in double meanings. Axell’s most famous artwork, of a woman licking an ice cream cone, could be both a summery advertisement or an explicit pornographic scene. She named another painting, of red heels on a gas pedal, “Axell-ération” — an implied self-portrait, like many of her works.
But the young actor-turned-Pop artist, who was working in the 1960s and early ’70s and had been trained by the famed surrealist artist René Magritte, had her career cut short. In 1972, only a handful of years into painting, she died in a car crash and faded into relative obscurity. Only in the past decade as curators have revisited the pop art movement beyond celebrated male artists — such as Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein and Richard Hamilton — has Axell arisen as one of the many women co-opting mass media to engage with the social structures and politics of the ‘60s.
“If you asked almost anybody to name a woman pop artist, you would probably get a blank stare,” said Catherine Morris, a curator at the Brooklyn Museum, which hosted the touring show “Seductive Subversion: Women Pop Artists, 1958–1968” in 2011. The landmark group show featured Axell and contemporaries including Pauline Boty and Chryssa.
“(If this) period of emergence of women Pop artists had even been a couple of years later, we probably would have been more aware,” Morris continued, pointing to the 1970s as a turning point for women artists in the wake of second-wave feminism. “This whole group of women who covered this decade were dramatically overlooked.”
Since “Seductive Subversion,” which first exhibited at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Axell’s work has been included in a host of significant group shows that take a more expansive, international view of pop art and foreground women. And in 2021, she achieved a significant posthumous milestone, with the Museum of Modern Art in New York adding “Axell-ération” to its collection. But institutional solo exhibitions remain few and far between, with retrospectives hosted by Museum Abteiberg in western Germany and the remote Swiss Alps art center Muzeum Susch 10 years apart. (Perhaps, in part, because of her limited output.)
Now, two of Axell’s playful, erotic artworks— both painted with her signature application of enamel on plexiglass — are poised to make history at Christie’s, in her first major New York sale. “Paysage” a dreamy pastoral nude, is expected to surpass her record of $140,000, set in 2017, with a high estimate of $200,000; “L’Amazone”, a sensual blue-ombre hued portrait, could also come close at $120,000. But such sales for Axell are infrequent, according to Sara Friedlander, Christie’s deputy chairman of post-war and contemporary art.
“She made very little work — she was 37-years-old when she died,” Friedlander said in a phone call. “So, in a way, the market doesn’t have enough to know what to do with her. These (paintings) are very special and very rare.”
An incomplete legacy
The decade following Axell’s death saw the emergence of a number of women artists who unabashedly expressed female sexuality, painting and photographing their own bodies, and subverting erotic or pornographic imagery. Artists such as Joan Semmel and Marilyn Minter believed that feminism should be inclusive of sexual agency, but as Morris explained, they faced criticism for doing so.
Axell might have been part of this crucial wave; curators and scholars are still unpacking her prescient feminist ideas, and the paradisical world she set them in. Instead, she hid her identity, signing her works with only her last name, after facing derision from male art critics, according to the exhibition at Muzeum Susch. Her stylistic approach — a mix of pop art influences and dreamy surrealist settings — is still underrecognized, according to Morris.
“She acts as a historical bridge (between surrealism and pop art),” she said. “And I think that that’s something that’s dramatically unexplored.”
Skilled at challenging expectations around her own beauty, sexuality and sense of self in her work, Axell was also politically engaged, producing portraits of the African American activist Angela Davis and a painting responding to the Kent State campus shootings in 1970.
“Despite all aggressiveness, my universe abounds above all in an unconditional love for life,” Axell said in her only interview in 1970, according to a publication by Muzeum Susch. “My subject is clear: nudity and femininity experiment in the utopia of a bio-botanical freedom; that means a freedom without frustration nor gradual submission, and that tolerates only the limits that it sets itself.”
One of Morris’ favorite works, shown at the Brooklyn Museum, embodies this spirit: an abstracted view of a woman’s torso, the curves of her body like peaks and valleys, her vulva covered in a real tuffet of green fur. Called “Petite fourrure verte” or “Small green fur,” the intimate perspective was based on a photograph Axell’s filmmaker husband, Jean Antoine, had taken of her.
“It’s from 1970, just a couple years before her death,” Morris said. “So for me, it really epitomizes what would have been — what was to come.”

how i would run sm: Red Velvet edition
back to the series with the next logical group, Red Velvet. sm's first group after Exo and my ult girl group, similarly under a cut as per last post
triple debut (2014-2015): so to start, i actually dont mind Happiness as RV's debut and that its ot4. Yeri was really young, so i wouldnt really change those first two eras (Be Natural is my beloved but its a single and a remake so it doesnt count as their first cb in my eyes). what i would change is the schedules and some promo.
firstly, like Exo i think RV would have benefited from some sort of webtoon or lore comic starting at the second debut for ICC bc thats when we start to get hints that something in Cake Land isnt right. i have a lot of thoughts on RV lore/storyline which we will cover in the upcoming kwangya post (after nct and aespa posts bc they are integral to my version of kwangya).
second, Seulgi should have solo debuted in 2015 between Dumb Dumb and the lesbian christmas song (Wish Tree was iconic and we love Lee Jooyoung). shes been RV's ace since pre-debut, everyone knew and loved her and acknowledged her talents, and she was in multiple mvs of her sunbaes (Henry's Fantastic was the best). Seulgi being the first solo RV member feels right in every way, and while it would be very different than what we got for 28 Reasons, i think that might be partially a good thing.
the start of the success era (2016-2017): Russian Roulette was perfect and i have nothing to say about it. The only thing I would have done differently for them in 2016 was pushed for more solo/unit content, like station songs, vlogs, arts and crafts vids? like just stuff where theyre having fun and hanging out with no pressure. the main 2017 change tho is Joy solo debut. sm is so fucking stupid for NOT capitalizing on the attention Joy got from The Liar and His Lover, a show all about how perfect and amazing she is as a singer! like have her prepare and record between Red Flavor and Peek a Boo and have Peek a Boo pushed back a week or two. the concerts were a good idea, but they really should have capitalized on Joy's performance more. im still annoyed she hasnt properly debuted especially bc clips of her singing from TLAHL was what made me look into RV in the first place and why Joy is my girl ult of ults
Bad Boy (2018): id push Bad Boy back a little bc the time between PaB and BB feels too short, especially going by my plan. other than that, no major notes since the eras were pretty good and the concerts were a good idea. maybe a bit more of a rest after RBB bc of the short turn around time between that and the Japan cb + NA tour
ReVe Fest pt.1 (2019): the Ellie Goulding collab was amazing. ReVe Fest day 1 was a mess, and i say that as a Zimzalabim supporter. the styling was horrific and it all needs to go, the mv should have been more circusy and less performance vid imo, and the song is fine but maybe a less chanty chorus? ReVe Fest day 2 was good and idk why people hate Umpah Umpah bc it was cute and summery like it should have been. and then the Finale, Psycho was one of the best eras taken from us too quickly. i mean the only thing to change is to stop wendy from falling bc that killed the whole momentum and their careers for a hot minute.
the hiatus (2020): now to be clear, i am not blaming wendy for her injury or suggesting she should have come back early. its good she rested and healed properly and came back slowly to make sure everything was okay. every idol should do that. that being said, we should have gotten an ot4 album even if it was just a mini. the girls basically did nothing for a whole year waiting for her and it really did hurt them/their momentum. they should have had more solo content through the year alongside the like two group things, then Seulrene debut in june like originally planned, and then and ot4 album in fall or winter.
back on track? (2021): ot5 being at smtown was great and got everyone hyped to see the group after a full year of hiatus and they teased a cb at the performance. and then wendy killed the hype by doing her solo debut 4 months later with a ballady slow song. and she had the audacity to be like "omg i feel so bad for making everyone wait and then doing a solo" like girl wtf?? anyway gripes about her aside. Queendom was cute, but it felt lackluster after the long wait and felt more like a b-side than a title. also the mv/concepts teased all this magic and powers and a whole universe only to give us literally nothing after the first minute. why were they in a post office when the teasers were about the antique shop?? i would have changed the mv a lot to either expand on the magic or fit the teasers better.
ReVe Fest pt.2 (2022): sm cancelled the concert (rightly) bc the girls got covid but then never rescheduled bc there were "no venues open" even tho the same thing happened to dream and they got rescheduled in like two weeks so what the fuck is that about? um anyway they should have done a concert after Feel My Rhythm but also not named it ReVe Fest bc theres no point and they arent connected. ALSO FMR was beautiful and all but what happened to the ballet concept which wasnt in the mv and why did they not expand on the weird half story with Dark Queen Seulgi and the garden etc? also also FMR felt like a b-side too which was disappointing especially after queendom. and im skipping ahead to birthday bc that was actually the biggest let down of the year. the concept/teaser photos had literally nothing to do with the mv or song, the song itself was easily their worst title and did not sound good in any way, the mv styling wasnt great for pretty much everyone, the cake ver selling out before preorders even ended and before they showed us what it was/what was in it was super annoying. birthday is the biggest let down era imo and ESPECIALLY after the beauty of Wildside. Wildside was the only release in 2022 for RV that i actually 100% enjoyed from the style to the mv to the song to the plot in the mv. like it was perfect and exactly what we should have gotten as a Korean title and era. i would have absolutely done something similar for birthday, especially with the grunge outfits/concept
future plans/ideas: Yeri and Irene solo debuts, Seulrene cb, Joy actual debut this time, more solo schedules especially for the actresses, more Yeri vlogs, Seulgi cb with a better song, my highly indulgent KaiJoyYuta trio, an even more indulgent trio of Seulgi/BoA/Yunho, i think thats all i have off the top of my head.
next week nct u and the way nct overall would function before we get into the actual units

Recycled Flip Flop Lion Sculpture By Ocean Sole.
Tumblr media
Flip flops are a staple of summer, enjoyed by people all over the world. But what if there was a way to turn those old flip-flops into something even more special?
The Recycled Flip Flop Lion Sculpture is a unique craft project that turns discarded flip-flops into a beautiful and unique lion sculpture. The lion is constructed from recycled flip-flops, which are cut, sanded, and assembled into the shape of a lion. The lion is then decorated with paint, beads, and other materials to create a unique and eye-catching sculpture. The Recycled Flip Flop Lion Sculpture is a great way to repurpose old flip-flops and reduce waste. The project is easy to do and requires minimal materials, making it a great project for kids and adults alike. Plus, the end result is a beautiful and unique lion sculpture that is sure to be a conversation starter.
Flip-flops are a type of footwear that is traditionally made of rubber or plastic. They are popular in many countries around the world, but in Kenya, they are especially beloved. In recent years, the humble flip-flop has been given a new lease of life as a medium for art. Kenyan artists have been creating beautiful recycled Flip Flop Lion sculptures out of recycled flip-flops, and these sculptures are now being showcased in galleries across the world.
