What is TPP? I have never heard the acronym before.
-Artemis
Folds hands in front of myself like a businessman about to give a sales pitch. Well, you see.
TPP stands for The Penumbra Podcast, which is an audio drama/fiction podcast created by Harley Takagi Kaner and Kevin Vibert. If you have spent any amount of time ever following my blog on tumblr dot com, you may recognize the name. However, if you don’t, a more familiar name may be found in the two main storylines of the podcast, which are the Juno Steel storyline and the Second Citadel storyline. …If you don’t recognize the name “Juno Steel”, I imagine you are some sort of robot or clone who has managed to dodge 4 years of insanity-induced posting on this very blog. Juno Steel is the main character of the Juno Steel storyline, and when you are first introduced to his character, he is introduced as a private investigator, following the hallmarks of a stereotypical noir detective protagonist, however he lives on Mars in the future in a sci-fi setting. He is my favorite character of all time in any piece of media, and I am deeply, deeply obsessed with him. He—

outside preening and train displays for breeding season do peafowl show affection and bond with each other in any ways unique to them? do they ever engage in play or other activities?
They actually don't do a lot of preening each other, most of it is preening themselves in the same location. They inspect each others faces, and parasite pick (or sometimes pick loose feathers), but they don't do allopreening like parrots or some other birds do.
They don't have a lot of bonding activities, beyond just... hanging out. They loaf together, they walk around together, they talk to each other. Hens, even when they don't have babies, will sometimes pick up a "treat" and do the "good treat!!!!" call while holding it near the ground, until one of the other hens comes to get it.
The coolest thing they do for bonding is what I call playing chase. They have a stance where their chest comes down, butt comes up (but not "display" up, just raised), and their wings fold out slightly. It looks remarkably like a dog slapping their paws down into "play with me" stance, and it's much the same message- "Let's play!" They will hop/flutter in this stance, and then go bouncing and hopping around, and anyone nearby may join in chasing them or being chased. This tends to happen more when they're young, before sexual maturity, but the older hens do it when they have a close friend or two. I still see Eris and Artemis and Stella and Aris and Arcana, and OCCASIONALLY Stan doing it, just not as often/readily as the babies will do it (they do it almost every morning when I let them out of the coops and they are overcome with excitement about it).
I got a quick free-range game of it on film once!
Tumblr media
That's Corona up front... she never plays. She's the most Serious bird I own. But you can see how they are bouncing and have their wings out and loose, and their brother comes RACING over to join them, and they both bounce up really high and dramatically when they see him, but they aren't flying away, they're circling around to him.
And here's the difference in another gif- when Stella's sister (right side, brown lady) comes running over, Stella thinks she's instigating play, so she starts bouncing and running to her brother, but he doesn't want to play right now, so he doesn't engage.
Tumblr media
here's baby artemis engaged in chase with me, coming to chase me lol
Tumblr media
I have a few videos somewhere of my hand-raised babies playing chase with me. I want to get more videos of the outdoors ones playing, but it's so random and I don't have time to get my camera out, so it's like... if they do it while I already have my camera out and running in video. But it's my favorite thing they do, they look so silly.
They also will pick up and drop/throw around shed feathers, but I'm not sure if that's "play" behavior so much as "food testing" behavior. But, Beep had a bunch of cat toys, some of which she probably COULD have eaten (like her bluejay), but she would just pick them up and shake them/throw them, which is much the same as they do with feathers or small sticks.
youtube
Again, I don't know that I would classify it as play, and it may not be unique to them, but it is an interesting activity.
Last one I can think of off the top of my head is climbing things. They love jumping up and around on things. Games of chase that can include Being High Up are the best games. Corona, as serious as she is, still gets very happy to jump up and down on stuff. I think if I installed a fowl swing in her enclosure, she'd use it.
I'm sure there are others neat behaviors, but those are the first few I thought of.

Apollo and Artemis are twin sibilings who are very different from each other. While Apollo had many lovers, Artemis preferred to live secluded in the forest with only her huntresses for company. Although close, the twins prefer to live their lives separately and this has always worked for both of them. Until they meet you. The gods don't often share their belongings, but the twins seem inclined to divide you between them. How lucky are you to have the attention of Artemis and Apollo, aren't you?
It was Apollo who met you first. You met during the festivities that honored him and he found himself drawn to you, leaning against a wall, silent and disinterestedly observing everyone around him. The god found himself looking at you intently and his gaze made you uncomfortable and you left your spot to leave. Something about that man's gaze made you nervous and you wanted to forget about it. Apollo, however, never forgot you.
When Artemis met you, you were already with Apollo. The god pursued you and basically made you his. The goddess of the hunt didn't think much of you at first, thinking that you would just be one of Apollo's lovers and that you would soon be out of his life. Which is obviously not what happened. As Artemis spent more time with you, the more she found herself enjoying your company and developed an obsession with you of her own. She found herself drawn to you like she had never been drawn to anyone and she wanted you. The fact that you belong to Apollo is not a problem for her.
Apollo didn't react well when he noticed his sister's interest in you. He was irritated, furious and full of jealousy. Why on earth was Artemis interested in you romantically? Of course, you were stunning but this... This was unacceptable, you belonged to Apollo and he wasn't willing to give you up. It didn't take long for him to get into a fight with his sister over you. You were his and he wouldn't let anyone take you from him.
The twin gods actually physically fought over you, pointing their bows and arrows at each other, they were ready to kill each other. They just didn't because you intervened. You tore them apart and tried to appease the angry gods who were looking at you with madness in their eyes. You took a deep breath and tried to work it out by talking to the them. Although he was reluctant, Apollo eventually agreed to share you with Artemis, even if he still didn't like the idea. But it could be worse, he supposed, better he shared his soulmate with his sister than some god he hated. Meanwhile, Artemis was delighted that she now had you, it wasn't just for her, but that could be fixed sometime, for the time being she was content to hold in her arms.
Your relationship was, to say the least, interesting. Both gods loved dragging you with them everywhere. Apollo was the most needy of your attention and the most demanding, he liked it when you lay on his lap and just watched him while he read poetry or sang hymns to you. He loves to run his fingers through all your soft hair, smell your perfume and spend hours kissing your soft lips. He wants as much physical contact as possible, to have your body pressed against his at all times. The hugs always took a long time to end and he could spend hours whispering promises of love to you. His love language is a lot of physical contact and gifts. Apollo is always giving you something, clothes, jewelry, books, whatever you want. He wants to be your favorite.
Artemis is the quietest in your relationship, she has always been more rational than her brother and fears making you uncomfortable with all of this. She used to lead a reclusive life in her forests, and while she greatly enjoyed the company of her hunters, she came to enjoy your company even more. Artemis loves to take you on her hunts, just the two of you alone, the two of you silently admiring the forest around you. She wants to teach you how to hunt, even if it's not something you're a fan of, she is the goddess of the hunt and would be more than happy to teach you. Artemis enjoys your company and often just watches you, looking at you in awe. Your time with her is precious and she is not that demanding of your attention. The goddess likes to pamper you more simply, with simpler gifts, but if you want expensive things, she will be happy to give you, but Artemis likes to present you with things she likes and thinks you will like. Her love language is coy glances that get bolder with touch.
There is no doubt that they are very jealous of each other, because they do, but Artemis hides it better than Apollo. When the three of you are together, the twins appear to be calm, but any discerning person will notice Artemis's clenched hands and Apollo's glare. The two will be throwing furious glares at each other, but will be silenced with a glare from you. They no longer fight, at least not in your presence, but the sibilings will band together when there is a threat to you. Maybe some other god (Zeus) is too interested in you and they can't have that. In the blink of an eye, Apollo will be glued to your hip and Artemis will be shooting hateful glares at anyone who looks at you the wrong way. They might fight, but you belonged to them and they will protect you fiercely.
Eventually the three of you will find an acceptable rhythm. Artemis and Apollo will stop trying to mentally kill each other and their attention and love will be on you at all times. The hugs and touches become a double dose, as Artemis hugs you possessively Apollo will be claiming your lips. You will always be in their midst, being the buffer for this relationship, the only person able to control the temper of the two gods.
Being in a relationship with them isn't the worst fate anyone could imagine. Apollo can be incredibly possessive and overwhelming, but he will learn to share you with his sister. Artemis is the more easy going of the twins, she is not as intense or possessive as her brother, but she is extremely resourceful and has a dangerous temper when provoked. You will learn to love it, to love them. The touches, the kisses, the hugs... It will all be part of a great future that the three of you will share. Trapped for eternity between Apollo and Artemis. This is your future. But don't worry, they'll do their best to make you happy with them, after all, you don't really have a choice.

Do you have headcanons about Dionysus’ relationships with his siblings?
I do!
Since Dionysus used to be part human, he is the shortest of the second-generation Olympians. Everyone instinctively wants to babify him.
Dionysus has a bearded man form to prove to everyone that he is a big man. Doesn't stop the others from patting him on the head and asks him if he wants some snacks :333
Dionysus has a lot of origin stories, so I decided everyone raised him at one point.
Hermes cared for Dionysus sometimes after his birth from Zeus and was his babysitter and first friend. They have had each other's back ever since. Dionysus loves his Hermes-senpai.
Apollo sheltered Dionysus because he didn't want his younger brother to face the same turbulent childhood as he had. Artemis is also close to him due to their love for the wild lifestyle outside social norms.
Apollo also entrusted Dionysus with his Delphian temple when he left for Hyperborea. No doubt he would invite Artemis over to draw dicks on the walls take care of Apollo's shrine with him.
When Hera's search for him got more aggressive, Dionysus came to live with Demeter and Persephone. Persephone occasionally brought him to the Underworld to hide.
Dionysus and Persephone have a "You're not my mom" - "I fucking raised you" relationship.
Legends said Persephone asked Dionysus to watch over her grape garden one day. Dionysus somehow caused the grapes to ferment, and now we have wine.
I like to think the fruit bats were Persephone's favorite animal. Dionysus blessed her pet with immense alcohol tolerance as a gift (it's true biology!)
Hephaestus and Dionysus were good bros. Dionysus was the only one who could convince Heph to release Hera from her throne, so they must be close enough.
Dionysus still sleeps with Hephaestus' wife Aphrodite so yes it is awkward.
Ares is Dionysus' half-brother and grandpa (Dio's mom is the daughter of Cadmus and Harmonia, who is the daughter of Ares and Aphrodite). Family meeting is a bit funny but they are gods so it doesn't matter.
Sometimes Dionysus will point and Persephone and call her "Mom", then turn to point at Ares to call him "Grandpa". The other gods are hysterical and Ares is not amused.
There's a version where Aristaeus (a son of Apollo) took care of Dionysus with a couple of nymphs. If we go by that version, Apollo will also get the "Grandpa" tag.
Athena isn't as close to Dionysus as the others, but they do bond over the fact that they were born from their father (Athena from Zeus' head and Dionysus from Zeus' thigh)

What are your headcanons for Athena’s relationship and dynamic with her godly siblings?
I’m gonna preface this with Athena has a looooot of siblings due to Zeus being, y’know, Zeus, so I’m only going to talk about the Olympians. Don’t worry that’s still six Gods, relationships and dynamics and for some of them, I’ve got a lot to say.
AND I AM SO HYPE TO TALK ABOUT THIS I WAS KICKING MY FEET GETTING THIS ASK SO THANK YOU ANON!!
So who will I be going over in this. They are:
- Artemis
- Apollo
- Dionysus
- Hermes
- Hephaestus
- Ares
Artemis🏹:
They definitely get on well, both being trained in fighting, stamina and strategy, both being virgin goddesses. Their main issues are that Athena is very much so city and Artemis is very much so not city, but not so much so for either that it causes some drama. They’re dynamic can be described as very chill, they get along well together and are friends.
Apollo☀️:
Similar to his sister Apollo gets along well enough with Athena, but they do have a bit more drama than Artemis and Athena. The Trojan war mainly is a point of some bad feeling between the two but they’re polite enough that they can get along well enough together. In terms of dynamic it’s basically like two siblings that moved far away from each other and when they meet up on Christmas they’re just like “So, how’s college?” “I have three kids and a diploma.” “Oh yeah.” Not besties but they can get on well enough.
Dionysus🍷:
Now I do have a few interesting points here. One, Dionysus’ wife Ariadne was abandoned by Theseus, the hero of Athens, so it’s likely a point of some contention between the two. Though I don’t think they’re enemies, Athena is very stressed Dionysus is just never stressed he probably helps her out, I saw somewhere the idea that Athena goes to Dionysus’ bar to relax and I think that’s pretty cool, if anyone knows who that came from please tell me and I’ll edit this post to credit them! Dynamic, youngest and oldest. Chill and super stressed.
Hermes🪽:
(Don’t question the blue I don’t know how the fuck you get other colours.) Joined by their fellow connection for diplomacy they likely get along well. Hermes is described as a diplomat in the Odyssey when going to Calypso’s island to tell her Zeus orders her to release Odysseus. Athena for obvious reasons will get along well with someone who often acts as a diplomat and messenger, and their shared helping out of Odysseus definitely helps. But… as an underdog Hermes is often characterised as a prankster of sorts. And pranksters love rule followers, which Athena is. She’s likely the subject of many of his pranks, much to her displeasure, but she’s patient and can often put up with him. Though she will sometimes snap.
In terms of dynamic its low energy and high energy siblings. Pretty simple.
Now… the big two.
Hephaestus🔥:
(Again ignore the colour pls, I’m saving red for Ares.) Well… Hephaestus… yeah… I don’t think they’re friends. Obviously. Hephaestus’ attempt to assault Athena is quite frankly disgusting. Not only is she clearly not into him or wanting that but there’s no way to think she is when she’s a virgin goddess. I can’t make any jokes here, it’s not funny. Maybe after a few millennia she’d potentially partially forgive him, she’d go to his forge when necessary herself instead of sending someone else, but the idea of them being close friends ever again is not something I think possible.
Dynamic? Siblings that cut contact. I’ll leave it at that.
Ares🗡️:
Alright! Last one! Let’s do it!
Their relationship is in my opinion very interesting. They are naturally enemies in many ways, god of violent warfare and goddess of strategic warfare. They are opposed. But I think that there’s a lot more to it.
Athena is Zeus’ favourite. She’s the perfect child, the golden child. Ares is Zeus’ least favourite child, for not much reason either. Athena didn’t choose to be the favourite and Ares doesn’t deserve to be treated the way he is, and this all cumulates into a divide between the two, a wedge in a relationship that didn’t even get a chance to form. They have their moments, one helping the other rarely. They hold resentment to each other, but still are siblings.
I’d call their dynamic the golden child and the shadow. Athena is a beloved war goddess and Ares will always be in her shadow, and I hate that. He deserves better, they both deserved to be siblings.
With that I have now gone over the relationships and dynamics of Athena and each of her siblings on Olympus! Remember these are my personal opinions! You do not have to agree with me, that’s perfectly fine. Thank you for the ask and I’m sorry if it’s taken a while to get back to you!

So we talk about the linked universe boys a lot but we never see anything on the princesses. Like... where's the headcanons on them?
I wanna see Lullaby sneaking off as Shiek to hunt monsters with Time when court life becomes too much and complaining to Malon about the stupidity of the other nobles and how they fuck things over for everyone else but she can't just smack them over the head or overrule their policies because then she'd become a "tyranny" if she did that.
I wanna see Fable being an absolute menace to her Knights as payback for how they treat her brother but nobody believes then because she's a perfect angel for everyone else and she and Holda working together to study magic and learning to defend themselves so that Legend doesn't have to save them for what seems like the 100th time.
Sun using her memories as Hylia to be a cryptic little shit just for the funsies and kicking everyone's ass in spars because she's a knight too and a damn good one at that!
Flora and Purah are researching buddies and absolutely asking like a billion questions about everyone's timeliness and Symin having to drag the both of them by the scruff of their shirts out of the lab or back from the wilderness
Dusk having holidays in Ordon and Kakariko for similar reasons and practicing her archery, not quite going rogue but working alongside the Resistance to pick up her own soldier's slack.
Artemis just kicking ass and taking names as she continuously works to weed out the corruption that was brought to light by Cia's invasion.
Aurora and Dawn being sisters and helping each others trauma while trying to rebuild the kingdom's history and army so Hyrule doesn't have to work so hard.
Tetra being the badass pirate queen she is and also being a terrible influence on Aryll as a surrogate big sister so she can gleefully hold the fact over Wind's head, who is upset because HE wanted to be the one to teach Aryll how to swear!
I love all of these so much, especially the girls I'm familiar with. The idea of Lullaby sneaking out and fighting alongside Time while also chilling at the ranch and having girl time with Malon is amazing. I always adore seeing Sun get to, well, shine and show that she too is a knight - and that she fought in a war as Hylia! No one remembers Hylia fought in a war to save everyone before she ever asked for help from a hero!
All of this is delightful. <3 When I have more brain cells to spare I will make some fun ideas of my own.
This ask does remind me that I need to make a post about the Zelda personalities, though, so thank you for that too!

The idea that Meg’s view of Artemis would just be “the sister who takes apollo for granted” is so sad to me goddamn, because like it’s from an outsider’s POV, get it? Also Artemis thinking that Apollo prefers Meg (and Athena but this ain’t about her) company over hers is sad too like GODDAMN you could tell?
But ahem. so do you have any head canons on Artemis and Meg’s dynamic in regards to Apollo?
(I LOVE ARTEMIS but i love sibling angst more especially when one sibling was unknowingly shitty to the other sibling who is going through shit :( i’m sorry Artemis but you gotta take one for the team so that i could cry over the angst potential in peace)
SIBLINGS!
time to cook >:)
First of all, I do think that Artemis and Meg could/would get along. They share similar traits and Apollo even mistook Meg for Artemis in The Hidden Oracle at first.
However, I do think there would be...clucks tongue how should I say it? Tension? Yes, tension.
Why?
Well, we all know Meg would clock the whole Zeus=Nero thing and the common consensus in the ToA fandom is that Artemis is unaware to an extent of the abuse Apollo has gone through - I say to an extent because there's no way it's strictly under wraps, especially with how long it's been going on for.
Nevertheless, Artemis is unaware of it and even (accidently) contributes to the whole 'reenforcing of abuse' with the nagging/lecturing she gives Apollo (see: BoO scene).
And Meg, while she does criticize Apollo, she wouldn't be a fan of that. And she Would Not hold her tongue, leading to a very interesting dynamic/potential conversation between her and Artemis.
Meg's all like "you're literally siding with a fucking tyrant over your own brother?!" and Artemis is like "I'm doing what I can to protect him!" Meg snorts and is like "Some 'protecting' you've done lately!"
I can see this argument having nearly the same end results as my fic Lamentation of a Sister does.
With Artemis realizing she's done a Major fuckup and Meg's like 0_0 because she's had to deal with one (1) dramatic, self-pitying god and now there's another.
In a nutshell, Meg:

LU Zelink marriages head canons, go!
Alright, let’s see...
Time and Twilight are excluded here because Time has Malon, and Twilight is heavily implied to be interested in Ilia (plus the whole Midna mess) so he’s not here either.
...And before anybody gets on my case, Legend and Fable aren’t siblings here! Them being siblings is just a headcanon! They’re not related here!
We good? Good.
Anyways, this got long so I’m putting it under the cut.
For Sky and Sun... I think Skyloft has a lot of traditions and things, so their wedding would have a lot of that. Everybody on Skyloft attends I’m sure, plus the handful of friends Sky and Sun made on the surface, the kikwi’s and mole guys (who’s names I’m not remembering at the moment) and all. They probably have the wedding somewhere in Faron, as the first wedding on the Surface Grooseland and it’s a very happy affair :)
Once Four is old enough to get married, I think his and Dot’s wedding is a lot like Sky’s: lots of tradition, but not too big of an event, lots of family and friends (and people they have to invite because it’s technically a royal wedding 🙄). The minish probably help in all sorts of little ways, with any food and little details on Dot’s dress. Her and Four probably aren’t nearly serious enough during the ceremony, and a couple of people are scandalized. They don’t care a bit.
Wind has a while to go before he’s old enough to really get married, but I think him and Tetra make it a pretty small deal. Tetra suggested eloping but she was mostly kidding. Mostly. They probably have the ceremony on the ship, but dock it at Outset so they can have the party afterwards there without running out of room. It takes them a while to find someone to officiate (you can’t officiate your own wedding, Tetra) Makar and Medli do the music, and Tingle probably invites himself.
Legend, after he accepts that Marin is gone and lets himself love again (...it probably takes a while), would probably prefer a pretty small wedding. Fable is all for it (I’m sure she’d hate a fuss), so they have a quiet wedding in the apple orchard by Legend’s house. Ravio somehow ends up making money off of it, and probably gives Legend one of his own items as a wedding gift.
Hyrule, no matter which Zelda it is that he’s in love with (I certainly don’t have any clue XD) does not want a big wedding. Of course, he somehow ends up with one anyways because he’s marrying a princess and especially if you add in the whole “destined to be king” thing he possibly has it’s probably a wedding and a coronation, so it’s a Big Deal. Poor Hyrule is an absolute mess of nerves.
Warriors and Artemis almost elope. They very much consider just booking it from the castle for a week or two to get married then come back, so they can skip the whole fuss and political nonsense that comes with a royal wedding, but Impa keeps giving them glares so she’d probably stop them. So they put up with the whole spectacle of everything, then very much enjoy a quiet honeymoon.
Wild... I’m a little hesitant to say much about since I haven’t played totk yet (no spoilers!!!) and am not quite sure how things have changed between him and Flora (if at all). But either way, I think they probably try to have a nice quiet wedding, then have a bigger party afterwards. Probably a little like Rhondson and Hudson’s wedding, it’s just a small affair. Then a big party and everything afterwards where they invite everyone they can, everybody Wild’s met and helped over the years.

I have heard that Apollo and Artemis being twins was a relatively later development, so have you come across any versions where they are not twins? Another question I have, is Artemis being the eldest twin have evidence?
In the older versions, it's very likely that Artemis and Apollo were born separately , either at different times or different places, or both. But in a lot of later sources, they are stated to be twins. And yes, there are accounts where Artemis was born first and helped Leto give birth to Apollo. But I will also talk about why I think Artemis might be the younger sibling in Callimachus' works.
So these are the authors who make it very clear that Apollo and Artemis are twins: Pindar, (Pseudo) Apollodorus, Strabo, (Pseudo) Hyginus, Ovid, Servius, Antoninus, Nonnus. Servius and Apollodorus also say that Artemis was born first. Except for Pindar, the others are from a relatively later time period. Half of them are Roman authors.
Let's take a look at some of the older sources:
According to Hesoid, the 7th day of the month is sacred because that's the day on which Leto gave birth to Apollo, but he does not mention the birth of Artemis or that day being dedicated to her.
The Homeric hymn to Delian Apollo, which describes in great detail the troubles Leto went through to birth Apollo, never mentions anything about Artemis' birth. Eiliethyia is the one who helps Leto during childbirth, so we can assume Artemis was not in the picture at all. In another Homeric hymn to Apollo, it's explicitly stated that they both were born in different places:
"Rejoice, blessed Leto, for you bare glorious children, the lord Apollo and Artemis who delights in arrows; her in Ortygia, and him in rocky Delos, as you rested against the great mass of the Cynthian hill hard by a palm-tree by the streams of Inopus" (trans. Evelyn-White)
Now some later authors do mention that both are names of the same place. Ortygia was renamed Delos after the birth of Apollo. There are also sources that clearly state Artemis was born on Delos. But in this hymn at least it seems clear to me that they are presented as different places and the twins (?) were born separately.
Theognis also, mentions only Apollo being born on Delos.
Coming to another hymn that gives a detailed narration of Apollo's birth - the Hymn to Delos by Callimachus. Callimachus' works are dated later than Pindar's, but he also goes with Leto giving birth only to Apollo on Delos. Again Artemis is not mentioned anywhere in the very long hymn. Adding to that, in the hymn to Artemis, he says that Artemis was born without causing any pain to Leto, which is why Fates ordained her to ease women's birth pangs. So if Artemis was indeed born along with Apollo, I don't see why that detail would be omitted from the hymn to Delos.
Now here onwards starts my "hear me out" thoughts: In the Callimachus' hymn to Artemis, Apollo seems to already have enough renown. She asks Zeus to grant her some gifts, and one of them is that she must have as many titles as Apollo does:
"when sitting on her father’s knees – still a little maid – she spake these words to her sire: “Give me to keep my maidenhood, Father, forever: and give me to be of many names, that Phoebus may not vie with me." (trans. Mair)
When she is three years old, Leto takes her to the Cyclopes to get her bow and arrows:
"Therefore right boldly didst thou address them then: “Cyclopes, for me too fashion ye a Cydonian bow and arrows and a hollow casket for my shafts; for I also am a child of Leto, even as Apollo." (trans. Mair)
This implies that the Cyclopes had already given a set of bow and arrows to Apollo, and Artemis is asking them to do the same for her. ALSO adding to that, in Callimachus' hymn to Apollo, he says that 4 year old Apollo built an altar made out of horns of the goats that Artemis hunted. So if Artemis started hunting at 3, and Apollo built that altar at 4 - maybe they're like a year apart.
(Most of the sources that I have mentioned can be found here.)
Personally though, I prefer them being born as twins. But the concept of then being born separately is very intriguing to me. I'm gonna end this with vase paintings that support both the ideas, because why not?

So everything emits heat. Heat is just a another form of energy. As long as something is emitting energy, it will emit light. It’s just that that light is unable to be detected by humans without tools.

Artemis anon here! So, me and Dionysus are deciding what to get for Percys Christmas present, you know those big teddy bear ones? well, Percy loves bears and such, so I decided to buy him those big ones, but I don't know, I was also debating if I should get a smaller size?? could you please help?? -Artemis
Hmm, that's tricky! I mean, my personal opinion with plushies is to go big or go home, but Percy is a smol bean. You could always get him a smaller one and see how long he holds onto it! I, personally have a stuffed Winnie the Pooh bear from before I was even a year old! And I'm....well I'm not Phil, but not quite the rest of them SMP either ^^;
I know the Djungelskog from Ikea comes in a few different sizes! He is here>>
I hope that helped a bit! ; w ; Good luck friend!

I know you’ve talked about the peril and joy of bird imprinting before; how did you avoid imprinting with Bug?
I didn't! I knew she was a hen from the start because of her color and the way I arranged pairings this year, and it's mostly just the males you don't want to imprint.
What you don't want with the hens is to have them never have an exposure to other birds or the outdoors so they can't adapt when they're no longer babies. Bug gets daily hang out time with the big birds and the other babies, so she's learning social behaviors from them as well, and we go on walks so she can see outside stuff like The Sky (you'd be surprised how many peachicks raised in brooders or in barns freak OUT when they see the open sky the first time). If you can provide proper enrichment and bird-social time for them, the hens make great imprints/hand raised birds. Artemis was also an imprint, and she is one of my only birds that won't attack new birds, and she is still easy to handle and hang out with.

hcs of artemis and athena liking the same s/o? :D a very random pairing but their my two favorite gods so I thought it would be interesting lol - 🌓 anon
❝ 🏹— lady l: done, anon! It's a very random pair, in this case a very random polyamorous relationship but I really enjoyed writing this, I had fun imagining them fighting over the same darling. I hope you like it and I'm sorry for any mistakes! ❤️
❝tw: obsessive and possessive behavior, jealousy, manipulation, dub-con ('cause it is yandere content), overprotection, mention of murder and polyamorous relationship.

This could only happen if both goddesses had the same reason or at least motives and once the other realized the other's obsession with you it would complicate things a lot. Artemis is not as possessive as Athena but she still doesn't like the idea of sharing her darling with anyone. Athena is very possessive and very unlikely to agree to share you, but it's not impossible. They want you and they will have you, whether that's what you want or not, they don't care.
Artemis would be the first to set eyes on you, she's had her eye on you since she saw you in one of the forests that belonged to her. At first she watched you to make sure you didn't do anything evil to her animals, but her gaze softened when she realized that you didn't have any hidden bad intentions, quite the contrary, she smiled softly when she watched you petting a little deer that approached you. As she stared at you, the goddess's mind filled with disturbing thoughts of keeping you with her. Artemis didn't know what to think or do as her mind filled with such sickening thoughts.
Athena took an interest in you not long after your half-sister did. You found yourself attracting the attention of the goddess of wisdom after being one of her chief priestesses/priests, although you had not sworn to her, during a silly and small festival, you were her priestess/priest, and after saying the right words perfectly, the goddess found herself marveling at this mortal. From that day on, Athena found herself constantly chasing you, which makes you grow paranoid, even if there was never anything after you. The goddess found herself increasingly obsessed with you, she became a constant figure in your life, unbeknownst to you, she began to appear in places you frequent disguised as an ordinary mortal woman. You just couldn't get out of her head no matter what she did.
Once they noticed each other's interest in you, the fights would start. Athena is rational and doesn't usually fight physically, she prefers to destroy her opponents and enemies with words and tricks while Artemis is not afraid to fight physically for something. It would be Artemis who would question the other goddess about you, irritated by her feelings for you, and Athena would only retaliate with short and determined words. They clearly weren't going to compromise nor were they willing to give up on you, so they were both going to settle this the old-fashioned way: they were going to see who won you over first.
Artemis would try to win you over through tours of her reserves, words of comfort and she would love to teach you how to use a bow and arrow. She would be the most fun type, she wants you to have more fun with her than anyone else. Hunting with you is her favorite activity as it shows how close you are to each other, as you share the same activity and hunting is a sacred act to Artemis and there are few that she allows to hunt alongside her without being one of her hunters. She would love to take you to whatever corners of her woods you desire, the ones that no one but her is allowed to be. She would be bold and confident as ever in her approach to you, she would only become even more so as you reciprocated your feelings for the goddess of the hunt. Artemis would smile triumphantly as she watches you fall asleep in her arms. You are hers and she will always remind you of that.
Athena is an extremely proud goddess and that's why I don't see her giving up or accepting the idea of losing to anyone, even a goddess. She would be the most rational one in the situation, or she tries to be at least, Athena would discover all yours secrets and yours darkest desires in order to get even closer to you. She would smile and say words of encouragement to you whenever you felt physically and mentally drained, soft and gentle touches would be even more common and hugs even more so. She wants you to trust her, she wants you to trust her blindly and never question her about any decision she makes about her relationship. You should only trust her, others are not to be trusted, only I can keep you safe, she will be whispering these words in yours ear. Athena will feel nothing but the purest pride and satisfaction to have you trusting her and depending on her for anything. She loves to read and do any craft activity with you, it's one of the goddess's favorite moments with you. You owe her everything and she just wants you all to herself.
They will only come to an agreement to divide you after they cause too much chaos not only in your life but in the lives of the other gods, since they are always arguing about you. It will be Zeus who will likely have to step in and try to reach an agreement. He is very fond of both daughters, but everyone knows that Athena is his favorite, so I imagine he chooses her to be with you, making Artemis furious about it. The goddess of the hunt will argue that she was the one who saw you first and therefore has the most claim to you, which will cause even more arguments among the gods. They will agree to share you after both of them are threatened by Zeus and Hera, with the promise that if they don't agree you will be the one to suffer the consequences and, worried about their darling, they reluctantly accept this agreement.
The three of you's relationship turns out much better than expected, they ended up understanding each other for you and only focused on what you wanted and the selfish desires of each of the goddesses. They still had grudges against each other but tried their best not to let those feelings show so will not bother you even more with this situation. Each one of them has a specific time with you, during the day you belong only to Athena and during the night to Artemis, respecting the limits of the agreement proposed by Zeus and enjoying the time with you without caring about anything else. Athena spends the day by your side, she loves doing anything that isn't out of her comfort zone with you, reading and painting are her favorites, even more so if she has the opportunity to paint you in full or partial nudity. Artemis spends the night by your side, she likes to teach you how to fight and to take you hunting just the two of you in the silence of the night, she likes to know that you trust her and feel comfortable by her side, she loves to watch the moon with you lying in her arms. It's heaven as far as both goddesses are concerned.
The two goddesses will team up when a threat to you and them appears, they try to deal with it quickly and effectively, but if the threat is greater it can complicate things a bit. Artemis will not tolerate anyone coming between the two of you, or for that matter, the three of you. She will try to be quick to deal with the threat and, if it is something that is really dangerous, she will slaughter them with great pleasure. Athena will be more cruel, throwing them a curse that will end in their death by some hero or another cruel god. They will lean on when they are jealous or if you are in danger, all disputes for your attention and love will be put aside for your safety. Nothing and no one will hurt you as long as you are with them.
They'll learn to share you better over time, and who knows, when all the anger and resentment is let go, the three of you really do become a couple at once. Artemis is bold and determined in her relationship, her temper often getting the better of her many times. Athena is possessive and never forgets an offense done to her. They will eventually learn to share you the right way in time, they must do it for their own sanity and once they do, peace between the three of you will settle. You wouldn't have to worry anymore that they'll end up killing themselves because of you and they'll be even more attached to you than ever. Everything was fine and would be fine. All you have to do is allow yourself to be obsessively loved by the two goddesses and love them back. It's just that, it shouldn't be that complicated, right?

Zeus when Apollo and Artemis are fighting over something: Come now! How about you split it in half? By sharing you can both get equal amounts and everyone is happy!
Zeus when Athena and Ares are fighting over something: Athena can have it.
Ah, the good ol' favoritism.
I know Zeus can do better. There are times he is a good father, but other times he just can't help it.
