Getting a cat

Summary: You and Arthur want a child but are incapable. So you and Arthur talk about getting a cat.

A/N: So this is personal but I wanted to post it because I am really proud of it. (And I love the idea) Hope you like it. I was originally going to make a short fic but it turned to an really short HC so... Hope you like.

-You have always wanted a cat. for as long as you could know since you were little. but you could never get one because your father was allergic.

 -Then there was the fact that you want a kid. Your own little child. a little monster that you can watch grow and learn that you could take care of. you've always wanted your own child.

 -Then you met Arthur. the two of you had just gotten married. and together you made the decision that you want a child together.

 -This was a big step for you, I mean you will be the one carrying the child for 9 months then you'll have to breastfeed it and yada, yada, yada.

 -You know you wanted a child, but now that you're married you know that you won't want you anymore.

 -You want more than anything to be able to have a growing family with Arthur.

 -You can't help but think of what a perfect dad he would be. 

 -One night the two of you were lying in bed talking about this child that you wanted.

-¨ Sweetheart, after we have the child and you go back to work we wouldn't have to get a nanny or bring the kids to daycare I could take care of him. I'd love to. I always wanted to be a dad.  I bathe him, feed him, burp him and take naps with him.  it'll be so much fun.¨

-Hearing that made you so happy

 -He wanted to be a dad

 -So the two of you tried

 -It didn't work the first time, the pregnancy test came back as a negative

 -So you tried again, and once again negative

 -Arthur said that you should go to the hospital and see what they think about it.

 -You were scared

 -When you were a teenager you were told by the other doctor that do you have any problems with your reproductive system, which could possibly be in the future make it hard for you to have kids.

 -That's all you could think about on the car ride to the hospital.

 -You went in and they tested you

 -That night you were told that you are incapable of holding a child. and that if you were to try and get pregnant that the child would not survive.

 -This hurt you, what you wanted for the longest time, and now you learn that you won't be able to have your own child.

 -But hearing the news doesn't make you I started to meet Arthur. he told you how much he wanted to be a dad. he still wants to be a dad. he was so excited about it. you feel so bad.

-On the car ride home start to think of alternatives. maybe you could put the dog.

 -No, Arthur isn't much of a dog person.

 -What about a bird?  No, they're too annoying

 -Then it hits you. A cat, you wanted a cat since you were a little kid but your dad was allergic so you could never get one.

 -You decide to wait to tell Arthur for a few days.

 -Eventually, a few days pass, so you decide to bring up the cat idea

-¨ Honey, you know I think I have an idea so that you can still be a dad like you wanted to and I could still be a mother¨

 -He smiles, his beautiful smile ¨ okay, sure what's your idea sweetheart?¨

-¨ We could get a cat¨  you propose

-¨ Really?  but aren't they like everywhere. I don't like that idea.  Sorry dollface.¨

-¨ Oh come on hun,  they're really easy to take care of,  their self taught, you don't always have to give them attention, which can be really good because you and I both have things that we do.  and they're quiet, they like to snuggle.  please oh please Arthur-¨

 -He interrupts you saying 

-¨Ookay okay,  we can get a cat¨  he's smiling. a gigantic smile.  it's adorable and you can tell he's happy.

-You go to the adoption Clinic and tell them that you want a cat.

 -They bring you to one of the back rooms and open the door and say ¨ all of our cats are in here, you could just find one that you like him to come to get one of us when you are done¨

 -There are so many cats there's Babies, old cats,  calicos, orange cats, you look at them all

 -They're all so beautiful

 -You end up getting distracted and lose sight of Arthur 

-Oh no! you think.  Arthur always gets distracted now you got to find him

 -You look around and eventually find him talking to a cat behind some glass.

 -You look up at the sign on the corner of the glass,

-¨Cats to be put asleep¨

 -That's a harsh way of putting it, 

 -He looks up at you,  smiling, You Love his smile,

-¨ I want this one if that's okay¨ he stutters, ¨ I mean I know it's not really my choice but I just wanted to say that I like this one¨

 -You look at him,  and how happy he is. he really loves that cat.  then you look at the sign and frown.

-¨ Okay honey,  I'll go get someone.¨

-You walk up to the cashier and tell them that you really found the cat that you love

 -They said okay and you walk back into the room and show them the cat that you  and Arthur chose
