Arthur gives Alex a rose but he gets rejected and cries

(I don't think you meant for it to be angsty but my hand slipped)

"Te amo! That's how you say it, right? Te amo!" Arthur yells, a single rose he stole from a garden in his hands. Of all the places to do a confession, the darkness of an alleyway isn't an ideal one. It does work well for confessions made quite literally at the last minute. Unfortunately, the target of his affections looks less than pleased at being dragged into an alley.

"Uh, thanks for learning literally two words but you do know it's been like, years since we've last talked?" Alex frowns, a hand on his hip reminding Arthur of how close he was from being shanked. He's lucky Alex recognized him and didn't decide to stab him.

"I know," Arthur admits, "but that's why I'm saying it now. I never really told you how much you meant to me and I regret that so fucking much. You… you're my whole world, Alex, and I've been thinking about some of the shit you used to say and I wanna take you up on it if you're still offering."

"I've said a lotta shit in the past, what are you thinking of?"

The rose is still in his hands. "I wanna run away with you." he whispers, and his own voice manages to shock him. He's never felt this desperate in his life. "We'll go anywhere you want, just… Somewhere far. Nowhere's really safe but we could go somewhere coastal if you still like the beach?"

Alex stares at him, a million emotions swirling around those beautiful eyes of his. "Arthur, you're working with Dino. You've already hurt Ash so much and what? You expect me to abandon him after everything you put both of us through?" There's a hint of suppressed anger in his voice, and his fists are clenched together like he's doing everything to not swing at him. "Doesn't matter if I still like you, I can't forgive you for some of the shit you've done."

"But you still like me! You said so yourself!"

Alex throws his hoodie over his face, obscuring it from view as he stuffs his hands into his pockets. "Next time you try to grab me like that I'll stab you for real." he threatens, slipping past Arthur and walking back towards the busy street. He quickly blends into the crowd, leaving Arthur in the alley.

The rose falls to the ground, dirt and grime quickly staining its red petals as Arthur wipes his face. Fuck, he can't be crying now, but more tears fall everytime he tries to wipe them away. Screw it, he doesn't need Alex! He doesn't… fuck he's messed up.
