note. i know there are a lot of drabbles out there based on the official art but i wanted to write something for him so yeah... tagging @neuvistar

What was supposed to be a peaceful and undisturbed sleep resulted in Aventurine rudely woken up by the familiar sound of his phone ringing. Normally, he wouldn’t mind since it means he has business to tend to; allowing him to get his mind off some… negative thoughts. But today was different.

Today was his rare off day and he wishes nothing more than to spend the day with his beloved partner: you. Groaning, he blindly reached for his phone, only to be successful after grabbing the air a couple of times. 

He yawns before accepting the call, holding the device near his left ear. “Hello?” 

Aventurine internally winced at how hoarse his voice sounds, due to the lack of water for the past few hours. The speaker started speaking but none of their words entered his mind. The gambler wasn’t in the mood to entertain them and it was by pure instinct with how his eyes moved over to where you were laying. The sight of you fast asleep soundly, without a care in the world and with a serene expression on your face was enough to put him at ease. 

Never in his life had he foreseen himself falling in love with someone. Aventurine is a risky man, always going all in or nothing but when it comes to you, he is willing to take some safety precautions. He doesn’t know how to function without you by his side. The man reached out his left hand, fingers grazing the outline of your face and rested his palm on your cheek. He sniggered when you furrowed your eyebrows, murmuring something under your breath. 

Aventurine couldn’t resist the urge to move a few stray strands of your hair away from your face, gingerly tucking them behind your ear. The way he treats you was as if you were a piece of fragile glass that could shatter into pieces at any given moment. He vows to always protect you and he will keep to his words, even if it means putting his life on the line. For you, he was nothing more than a fool in love. 

“..llo? Sir, are you still there?” 

The voice on the other end snapped him back to reality. Aventurine sighed before replying, having only understood half of whatever they said. “Fine, let’s schedule the interview for today then.”

They exchanged a few more words before he finally hung up. According to what his brain remembered, the interview is scheduled to begin in the afternoon. That means he has more time to spend with you, much to his delight. Aventurine closed the remaining distance between the two of you, pulling you closer and buried his face in the crook of your neck. 

“...How long are you planning to do this, darling?” He murmured, his breath kissing your neck with every word he spoke. 

“Ugh, how did you know I was already awake?” You grumbled, annoyed at how you were caught red-handed. 

“Let’s just say I have my ways. Now, we should get more rest since it’s still early,” he chuckled, pressing a chaste kiss on your neck and savouring the way you shivered slightly at his action. 

“Huh, but don’t you have an inter-”

“That can wait. For now, I want to spend my time with you.”

do you like becoming tumblr famous or is it scary

So far, it's pretty good. I get an astonishing number of asks, and I feel bad that I cannot answer or address them all, but other than that, practically everyone has been lovely so far.

I have a bit of an odd relationship with fame. For much of my childhood, I idolised people who were famous, and dreamt of one day being famous, too. As I grew up, I met or interacted with more and more famous people, and later even got to know some very well. When you see it up close, it is often not desirable at all. It is in fact a huge strain on these people. And that's something I think we often forget; these are just people. Just apes wearing silly scraps of fabric and worrying about their families and their health, just like everyone else.

And so, I have no real interest in being famous, tumblr or otherwise. But I do enjoy having a wonderful, large, and continuously growing audience who revel in and enjoy the weird and wonderful creatures that I spend so much of my time thinking about, working on, and pursuing. I hope that it continues to grow! As I say, you have all been really lovely so far, and I could not find a better community on any other platform—of that I am sure! 🐸

note. hello... guess who's finally writing something again haha... this was written in one sitting and i couldn't really think of anymore ideas so sorry if this is short.

Boyfriend! Aventurine whose love language is acts of service. This man has more money than he could count and what better way to spend it on when you stepped into his life? Be prepared to be showered by his luxurious and expensive gifts on a daily basis. Nothing you said will enter his head, for he always shrugs off your protests with a laugh followed by some smooth and heart-fluttering words that made you melt. He insists on spoiling you as according to him, that is a better use for money rather than letting it waste.

Boyfriend! Aventurine who is proud to show off your relationship to the public. He pays everyone else no mind, proudly resting a gloved hand on your hips as he holds you near him while you two walk around. It felt like he was showing you off; like you were a rare species and that was the point. He wants to let the whole world know how fortunate he is to have someone incredible and astounding like you. 

Boyfriend! Aventurine who loves teasing you in public. His teasing comes in the form of sneaky and chaste kisses, either on your lips or cheeks. He loves how your face turns red and how easily flustered you could be. Sometimes you try to catch him off-guard and depending on the occasion, it may or may not work. However, being the only one to witness your usual arrogant and loud lover reduced to embarrassed silence made your heart skip a beat, for the sight was too adorable for you to handle. 

Boyfriend! Aventurine who gets jealous easily and refuses to voice out his thoughts. He might pretend to play it off, turning a blind eye to the dilemma stirring in his heart but his facade could never fool you. You need to take the time to reassure him with hugs and whispered words of comfort, telling him how he is the only one for you, how no one else compares to him and how much he deserves this moment and you. The gambler may always come off as charismatic and egoist to the public but when it comes to you, the shell was casted aside and reveals a rather sensitive and insecure poor boy.
