Dhokra art is one of the world’s oldest art forms. The metal-casting craft has been practiced by tribal families throughout India for 4,500 years. But following an economic reform in 2016 and the rising cost of raw materials, the future of this craft may be in jeopardy.

As a child, I’d stroll along the beach, the ocean breeze tangling my hair, while my small hands collected the treasures that the tide left behind. Seashells, each with their own story, became my cherished companions, their intricate designs etching a love for beauty deep within my soul.

As the years unfurled like the waves upon the beach, my affinity for art blossomed.
