"Some people think luxury is the opposite of poverty. It is not. It is the opposite of vulgarity." ~ Coco Chanel
"Lady Luxe" by Amanda Johnstone, 2022
Arty-Fact: "I love to draw the audience in with a strong female image while taking something away. Many of my pieces have eyes covered or hidden to create mystery and let you see the art as a whole rather than a face or photograph." ~ Amanda Johnstone

Mainstream sci-fi loves to insist on having drab looking machines as tools of war and oppression almost as a self fulfilling prophecy.
But what if, hear me out, we started considering a future with more humane AI and healthier relations to different modes of intelligence (ie. the entire non-human being population of Earth)? 🤔

you know i have no stakes on this. i'm a casual viewer at best. if i don't like this i just don't pay. but learning that patreon is still up, that they didn't get any notice in advance of any these changes, and they don't even get free access to the "normal" content, but only 40% off (with normal viewers getting 30% off, so basically just 10% discount), like if someone has the right to complain right now is the patreons who have actually been paying for their content this entire time

Get Your Art Fix!
“Your smile is the ultimate golden dream, all the poems in the world are waking up from.” ~ Sanober Khan
"She's Golden" by Amanda Johnstone, 2021
Arty-Fact: "It all starts with an image. I am constantly photographing everyday life, flowers, sunsets, things on my morning walk, seashells, pieces of paper, paint splashes, etc. Then they are filed into albums, backdrops, models, flowers, paints, etc., until I'm ready to use them.
"A lot of work goes into photoshopping the individual pieces, and then I start with a base image and begin the layering process pulling things in and out, making some layers opaque in areas, etc. 60% happens on the computer, and 40% of it is me doing collage and painting and playing with things like glitter and gold leaf.
"Sometimes a piece of art can come together quickly while other pieces sit in an incomplete folder. I keep going back and forth playing with it, and some get scrapped." ~ Amanda Johnstone

I’ve been working on this art piece on and off since early November and I’m very very happy to finally be finished ✨💫 the hair was a nightmare and in fact I almost abandoned it but I made it through…..I experimented a lot with using pencil brushes for texture and tbh I think that really helped it
