HAPPY 3 YEARS TO THIS BLOG!! 🎉💕🫶

i’m so happy i’ve been a part of this little community for as long as i have. everyone is super nice and inspiring and unbelievably talented, and im so glad to be posting content with people like y’all.

it’s absurd to think i’ve been doing this for 3 years and that i almost have 800 people here seeing it, but the love and support i’ve received over these years has been incredible. given that this is such a small community and i’ve either spoken with most of you or have at the very least interacted with your content, i feel confident in saying that every single person here is incredible in their own right and truly are the reason i stay here. you guys are genuinely the best, even if i forget to answer your asks or sometimes leave you on read for a while (i do that with everyone i’m so sorry) i mean it when i say that i do consider a good portion of you my friends. even if it’s been a while since we messaged or talked, you’re all awesome. and if i don’t know you personally, please feel free to message me! i love making friends, especially in a community like this that has time and time again proven to have some of the genuinely nicest people on the internet <3

i love writing and drawing and i’m not leaving here for a long while yet. the asks i’ve received saying that i inspired people to write, draw, or post are some of the nicest things i’ve ever received, and i truly mean it from the bottom of my heart when i say that those have changed my life. the self confidence and love for my craft that i’ve gained from being here is immeasurable, and that’s thanks to all of you, whether you’ve been here for years or are new to this blog.

Korrasami Secret Santa 2023!! ;DD!!

Hi, Korrasami fam!! We're back!! ;D!!

We're doing Korrasami Secret Santa for 2023!! (Sike, I did not copy this part from Korrasami Secret Secret 2022, but the rest I will LOOL). 6 years and kicking, babey, let's go ;DD!!

The rules are the same:

Korrasami creators will be able to gift one another with Secret Santa gifts. Whether it be fics, art, videos, animations…the fun’s all there! (It doesn’t have to be holiday-themed! It can be whatever you want :)

The Process:

This Secret Santa exchange will be done through drawnames.com, which is a Secret Santa Name Generator. You’ll need your email for this, and you can message me it directly on Tumblr (I’ll gather everyone’s names up, and put them into the generator when it’s time to draw names.)

The due date to sign up is 11:59 PM Nov 30, 2023 PDT (I’d like everyone to have ample time to do their Secret Santa gifts). :)

Most likely, you’ll need to make an account on drawnames.com (you don’t need to, but it’s recommended. When you get to writing your Wish List on there, under ‘Hobbies and Interests’, make two different lists: One for ‘Fic Requests’, the other for ‘Art Requests’. If a writer draws your name, you’ll have a suggestion for what you want them to write. If an artist draws your name, they’ll have an idea of what to create! (Also, originally, this project only had fanfic and fanart- but if anyone can contribute any other talents, that’d be swell!)

Example: Fic Request- I want Korra and Asami cuddling at home with a fireplace!

Art Request: I want Korrasami going otter-penguin sledding!

The fic and art requests can be the same, or they can be different. Please limit it to one, or if you can’t choose, then two options. You can also note things that you don’t want (i.e. No smut or NSFW work!). You can be as specific as you wish.

Also, everyone else! We recognize that there may be people in the fandom who don’t create content, but still want to contribute! @lamftw came up with these great ideas four years ago, if you’d still like to participate in the Secret Santa. You can:

Create Korrasami memes! The more memes, the better :)

Share your favorite Korrasami headcanons! We’d love to hear them.

Share your favorite artwork/fanfic!

Share your favorite moment from LoK or share how much Korrasami means to you.

Tumblr cannot replace Twitter, or Reddit, or Instagram, or Pinterest, or vice versa. I’m not saying it can. All these sites have their own functionalities and subcultures and mores. I miss Twitter. I’ve been missing Twitter since 2015, when the tone of the whole site started going to shit.

If you are moving to any platform, it is very appreciated to just hang out for a while and observe how people do things. You can go against the culture, but you’ll be consciously choosing to do things differently.

I’ve never watched one single second of Supernatural in my entire life. It doesn’t matter if you don’t like Supernatural. We get our news from the Destiel meme. That’s just how it is.

Yeah, when I posted about welcoming people from Reddit and Twitter, I was thinking in very naive and (help me, I can’t think of the word. Not provincial. “Relating to only that which is right in front of your face”) ways about redditors I had seen arrive from Tumblr-friendly subreddits, and Twitter users I personally interact with (because who else would see me tweeting about it). Dear God, no, I don’t want most of Reddit or Twitter coming over here. My apologies for saying otherwise.

Just before Reddit imploded, I had seen people here worrying that Tumblr really was dying and was so much quieter than it used to be, so an influx of the kind of people who would want to come to Tumblr seemed like a good thing.

When I said Tumblr has been less stressful for me, I completely forgot about the time I ended up with thousands of people yelling “kill yourself” about movie theater trash on a poll I made on a whim, for a solid week. Y’all, why do you keep doing that to each other, come on.

Still less stressful than Twitter, where potentially the whole planet (hyperbole) (maybe) could see anything you fucked up about if your fuckup went viral. Also, [gestures at everything]

I feel bad that I left Tumblr (as in, I made only a few reblogs a year) for a long while, but in my defense, it wasn’t because of the porn ban, and I wasn’t on Twitter much either. I had spinal surgery and covid and just Could Not for a few years. But I did, I admit, see that Muskrat was officially taking control of Twitter last year, and I jumped back on both sites in a panic to make sure I stayed in touch with people. So I did kind of leave and come back. I’d kept up with most of the memes, at least.

I feel like I earn my keep by reblogging a lot. Reblogging stuff, especially artists who post here, goes a long way.

Hey y’all! So, long story short: things feel through with my teaching job in Japan and I decided to come back home to the U.S. to continue my teaching career at the school I’ve previously worked at. They’re great people and have a supportive staff there and they have welcomed me back! The only issue is that I literally don’t have enough money to pay off some bills that I currently have. I have a lot of debt to pay off since I unfortunately did not have enough money to stay in Japan or anywhere else.

Anyways, I’m doing some emergency commissions so I can pay off two really important bills that need to be dealt with by the end of this week! My goal is to try to make at least $80 just to cover the bills until I am able to start working again (I’m supposed to start in the next two weeks but I’m not sure which day exactly yet). I’m opening up my commissions once again and I would like some help with my current situation.

I will be offering flat-colored pfp/icon commissions for $10!! There are some limits: I’ll only have time to draw one character at a time so if you want me to draw more than one character in your drawing, it will cost an extra $5.

Here are some examples of my work:

Depending on what you’d like me to do, I can easily go between a more cartoon-y style or a more ‘realistic’ style! Below are my basic rules and such:

What I will draw:

- Original characters

- Popular characters from books/tv shows/movies

- Animals/pets

- Monsters/cryptids/mythological creatures

- Backgrounds/settings/liminal spaces

- Robots

- Spooky themes (nothing with too much gore or explicit violence)

What I will NOT draw:

- NSFW art (I have nothing against it, I just don’t have an interest in drawing it)

- Complicated architecture (look at my art style…LOOK AT IT lol)

- No bigotry of any kind

- Realistically rendered art (again, look at my art style homie lol)

- No themes containing abuse or assault (especially, in regards to children)

- No HEAVY gore or violence

To this person, this is your one and only warning:

You have reposted my art, my mutuals art, my friends art and even my siblings art. What you are doing is harmful to me and to my friends. This is disgusting and disheartening ESPECIALLY seeing my art used in such a way that makes me EXTREMELY uncomfortable and I am sick and tired of seeing this.

Think I’m being harsh? my art has been stolen and reposted and used without my permissions dozens of times and I am getting sick and tired of it. I want to be patient and kind but that’s kind of difficult when i see others not only harming me but also my friends livelihoods and incomes by stealing their art like this. And it is disgusting to see you use a minor’s art the way you did. To you it’s nothing more than a few minutes of posting and a couple of likes. To the artist you take it form it means the difference between a meal and going to bed hungry.

To anyone else who has reposted art in the past or are considering doing so now, DO NOT. It is harmful and cruel and while you’re laughing about the edits you use my art in, I, the creator, and sitting here sick to my stomach and considering never posting again because of your behaviour. I’ve got to wonder if you care about the people you consume content for at all? because from where I’m sitting you look selfish, inconsiderate and cruel.

Hi, I'm the anon who asked if you were okay with all of this chaos. I have many things to say!

First off, your many thank yous made me very very (two verys) happy. So thank YOU.

Second, you absolutely deserve all of the attention you're getting. You're seriously an incredible artist, and I love the fact that a lot of your art is on paper. I especially love how Donnie looks in your style (which is funny, because I remember you saying that you DIDN'T like it). Ahem. Getting off track a bit there. Anyways. You're an incredible artist, and all of the attention is well earned, AND it's okay to feel overwhelmed. I hope you know that we don't expect you to answer everything right away. You're popular, and lots of people are asking you to do things. You can choose to not do something, and you SHOULD. Do what inspires you, and we'll love it!

Third, and hopefully finally. I play with character AIs a lot, just to kind of see how characters would react to certain things. I AM an author, and I can imagine these things myself, but I like seeing it from external sources more. It almost seems more believable. When a human comes up with it, it just feels more raw and expressive. Or something. I have no clue what I'm saying; hopefully it's not too muddled. Then, when someone DRAWS it. It's a thousand times better. I just love it so much!

I guess what I'm trying to say is that I love how we can give you prompts and questions, and you'll go somewhere amazing with it. I loved the thing with Leo, Donnie, and the coffee. My thanks goes out to you and the asker. It's a huge gift to us when you respond. Literally, it's like a present, I love it.

So, just to clarify because I'm paranoid and words don't really work sometimes, are you okay with super random prompt-asks? Like earlier I saw a post where so-and-so asked so-and-so what the turtles night-time routines would be. Stuff like that?

I naturally try not to think too much while I draw, I just feel my emotions, really. I dunno…maybe that’s a lame excuse gah..- but, as it stands, for now, I’m ~okay~ with answering the occasional prompt ask, but I won’t be making a post about it or anything. I’m just a little um..paranoid..?..after the whole spontaneous sticker war thing heh…

sometimes i think y’all are stanning a fictional character with matty’s face attached bc why are we clutching pearls over matty being at ye’s listening party when he was proclaiming him his hero not 4 months ago at msg? you dont have to like it all but the fake outrage is exhausting like you all know who he is, being controversial is not something thats ever gonna fade from him

There are so many things to address with this ask. “Fake outrage”. Okay. So. To put this plainly to you Matty did say that Kanye was his musical hero. Thats fine. Im not saying that’s wrong. He can listen to Kanye’s music all he wants for I care. Kanye west in the past has been a legendary musician. Truly a genius at times. My issue is matty going to a listening party which is supporting him, physically in person. Now I can say I don’t like this just in general but that’s not even my big issue. ( I could go on a longer rant here about separating the art from the artist. To me that’s always entailed appreciating the old work for what it was but not supporting the new content from the person. I would rather him not go to things associated with Kanye but he is grown and makes his own choices. I am allowed to think they are stupid and wrong though.) It’s the way that he was so deeply upset about the Sun writing an article about him being a n*zi, which was from a clip taken out of context, and then going and doing something once again that can paint him in the exact same way. “Being controversial is not something that’s ever going to fade from him” anon. Walk with me here for a sec. Why is Kanye west the hill you are dying on. He is a vile, disguising piece of scum. The type of “controversial” acts that I support Matty doing are stuff like Malaysia, not going to an event for Kanye fucking west. This whole situation has led me to realize how little people truly care about how HORRIBLE Kanye west is. ( I’m more so talking about Twitter and not tumblr). All that I said was that I was disappointed in Matty. Last time I was actually genuinely disappointed in him was last year with the podcast. I do not Stan him like he’s a fictional character? Like what do you even mean by that.

Just to sum everything up. I do not think Matty is a bad person, and I don’t think he’s antisemitic. My main issue is that he has complained about the media painting him a certain way in these past few years and yet he continues to do things that allow him to be painted in a poor light. I love Matty. I’m allowed to be disappointed with the actions by someone I love dearly. There is no fake outrage here. There isn’t even any outrage. I made one post saying I was disappointed, and that’s it. If that bothers you anon then ignore it?? I’m so sorry that my hatred of Kanye rubbed you the wrong way.

Hey uh… I hope you guys won’t mind me randomly dumping this here

Basically— I think you four are really cool people and I’m happy that I unintentionally inspired the mafia au, because it gave me an excuse to get to know y’all, which I’d wanted to do.. for a while. Quite a while, since you all seemed so nice, but I kinda felt like it was overstepping to try and talk to you directly, which is why I never did. I could send the message directly but I uh… yeah this is more confident space wise. Aka Discord will not let me write a Glitchyk-sized writing.

…Fuck this feels awkward.

Moshieee: I’ve said this probably too much, but uh.. I really appreciate you, you inspire me to do more stuff, as I’ve said before, you inspired that one AU I made, and you’re just so sweet in general. You remind me of a really caring older sibling, you’re not just some goof ball, but it’s nice to have serious talks, sometimes. Maybe it’s because I feel like I relate to you, also I think you’re really awesome. You’re the first person I saw on here that was doing traditional art and not online art, and you were so fun and creative that it inspired me to do things.

Bun: Hey! I didn’t know you much at the start, I just saw you around, and I thought you were interesting, especially since you were nice and for some reason followed me after moshieee did??? It’s fun to talk to someone who’s openly goofy, as all of you are, and it’s just nice. I dunno why, I just really like talking to you, maybe because we give off the same chaotic vibes at times. Also maybe bc you make the art of a character you like, I make the edit for it, which makes you wanna make more art, and it’s a cycle/silly

Dia: Online punching bag🫵/silly. You may not think you’re cool, but I think you’re really awesome, and amazing human being, your art is good and I find your story interesting for tadc and you’re just— fucking awesome overall. I’m happy that I have unintentionally inspired stuff with you, because I’m happy that I could give someone a good idea, and that someone be a good artist, so an idea isn’t wasted on my shitty art. I like just dumping random lil prompts on you, and also we vibe, I feel like we’re a bit similar (plus happy birday ✨)

Rabid: Amazing. Fucking awesome human being. Your art is amazing, your personality is chaotic and I feel like mostly matches mine, you literally inspire me every day with your awesome art, characters, storytelling, and I feel so fucking proud when I see you do your art. I didn’t know you personally when I started feeling proud, but I guess it’s because (as I’ve said various times) that it’s so cool seeing someone around my age doing such good art, I have similar feelings for Neptune since their art is awesome, but I dunno them well and so I will not write a paragraph about them (yet/j). I love randomly annoying you, since you seem fine with it (if you’re not please tell me—) and it’s just so cool to be able to see someone around my age, who’s so damn amazing. It inspires me a lot, makes me wanna do stuff. Oh! Also something I almost forgot to add, I saw your corruption AU for tadc and that also just made me so much more interested in you, since I had a sort of ‘corrupted’ AU that I made before I even came on tumblr. Is basically all this stuff added up made me really wanna interact with you!

I’m happy I unintentionally inspired the mafia au, because it gave me a reason to comfortably interact with y’all. In all, all of you are awesome, in art, personality, and story wise, in all different amazing ways. Sometimes I sometimes feel like I can never compare to all of you in art, and I don’t know why you all willingly became acquaintances with me, but it mostly inspires me to try harder. Y’all are awesome… that’s my mini positivity dump for now, had to restrain myself from writing a whole fucking thing on every detail of this subject, since I know I have to eat food and I will not type and eat at the same time.

161 Days since Tears of the Kingdom Released. Thank you for the well wishes on my health. Now go look at todays art reblog. I need y’all to see it so badly and tell me that I’m perfectly understandable for going insane over it. Gosh tumblr has so many cool and amazing artists and I’m just so happy that I get the change to reblog it and get their wonderful art to more eyes so it can be appreciated.
