I am. Unreasonably pleased by the coincidence that the cover/image so far of Beau for her comic is positioned exactly the way I described her to the person I commissioned what would become my pfp three and a half years ago. I stated the top-down angle, the smirk, the little bit of blood, and I said, "she's taken a hit and she's ready for more."

(the artist was artofhau here on Tumblr and I had the credit up for two years on my header, and then I thought to check their profile and it had been scrubbed and replaced with new promotions... So I took the hint. If that's still them - and I think it is? - they're very good.)

#It was my first commission so I didn't really know about references? #I know it's a combo you might see in several Mangas with cocky male leads #But I couldn't find just the right one #That promo image is damn near EXACTLY what I had in mind #Though of course with her C2 hair and such #It was advertised as a 'sketch' for like 20 bucks #I gave her at least 45

SO! For my birthday, the lovely @luck-and-larceny (maybe I should tag her OOC too? @crimson-thorns) commissioned artwork of my character from her game from the insanely talented @artofhau. I am just... blown the fuck away by how ridiculously good this is.

If anyone's curious, Prospero's a hexblade warlock. He stumbled upon something he shouldn't have and was taught useful, powerful magical secrets that spurred him to great heights and terrible lows. When he finally had enough, he threw the weapon away. And it came back. And he threw it away. And it came back. Turns out that magic swords are great... until they're in love with you. Just... goddamn. I keep staring at this. It's note-for-note perfect. His expression, the way he's limned in light, the sword... Just, damn. My favorite detail? How he's both wielding the sword and pushing it away at the same time.

Silence fell like a weighted blanket upon them, though the clamour of clashing steel and violent struggle still echoed in their ears. The bodies of their felled foes lay scattered around them, cooling slowly as death’s embrace enveloped them.

Hilven slumped to the ground, panting softly as the fire in her side reminded her that she yet lived, but not unscathed.

The floorboards groaned beneath Aladar’s heavy footfalls as he dropped to a knee beside her. She scented his intent as soon as he reached for the last intact skirt at her thigh. Hilven seized his wrist before he could rend the fabric. “Don’t,” she snarled, quickly releasing him. “Fetch the chocobos. We’re leaving.”
