If Thor was new to Earth you could understand his lack of privacy as something like Asgardian culture shock. However... Thor has been acquainted with Earth for years now. You'd think he'd learn to give you, his significant other, privacy.
The Asgardian's affection started as comforting and even cute! When you started getting to know each other he was in a pretty rough place while trying to protect his people and home. You ended up helping him through his break up and grief due to many events in his past.
When he eventually asked to date you, how could you not accept? Dating someone like Thor sounded like a dream. It was like a dream...
For the most part.
Thor is nothing but caring towards you, you can still say that even now. The issue is his inability to be away from you. For someone as intimidating and strong as Thor, it's strange to see him so upset over you leaving his side.
When you're together Thor loves the feeling of you in his arms. You find yourself always encased in his hold one way or another. Laying down, sitting, or standing... Thor has himself draped over you.
Thor peppers you in kisses and praises. He holds you like you're as precious as any jewel, maybe even more. Thor is dedicated and loving... completely devote to his Midgardian love.
"My heart belongs to you, I'll adore anything you do to it." Thor murmurs to you when you're alone, saying it like a promise. In his mind you'll always be together, he never wants to lose you.
You find it flattering, it's a cute display he does to show affection. You just thought Asgardians were poetic and affectionate with their love. Even if that is true about their culture...
You wish Thor would stop claiming what he's doing as "dedication" rather than "obsession".
Thor's affection only ever increased. It grew to the point Thor never left your side. People originally thought of it as cute that Thor adored you so much. Now it bordered on strange.
His affection was usually soft and caring. It's just there was too much of it. That and when others were around, you noticed his grip tighten.
Encouraging him to at least stand beside you instead of hold you all the time is met with opposition. There's minor fights but nothing too bad. You try to tolerate his behavior and excuse it with his past. He's lost loved ones... surely he's just a bit shaken still?
You thought you could tolerate it... but when Thor asked for your hand in marriage, holding onto your hand while on his knees, you feel trapped.
"My Dear..." He starts, a grin on his face. "We should get married! It's been long enough, hasn't it?"
"Thor..." You say hesitantly, watching as he kisses the back of your hand. "Don't you think it's too soon?"
"What makes you say that?" Thor asks, concern lacing his voice. You have trouble swallowing.
"It feels too soon for me. I love you, I just feel we should take things slow. It's only been-"
"Almost two years, dear. It's almost been two years. Why must you make me wait even longer for you?" Thor sighs, standing up and pulling you into his chest. "I've pledged my loyalty to you and our love... can you not do the same?"
"I'm just a bit scared-"
"There's nothing to be scared of. I'm here to love and lay my life down for you."
"Why are you forcing me?"
Thor thinks for a moment, pulling away to look at you.
"I'm forcing you?"
"Can't we wait a little longer? To see if things work out?"
"Things will work out. I know they will."
"Then we can wait!"
"I don't WANT to wait, dear! I want you to be mine until the end. Who knows when I will have the ability to ask you again...."
"... then I want to call things off."
That phrase creates a deafening silence. Thor's face is that of shock, trying to discern if you meant what you said. Meanwhile... you just look like a cornered animal.
"... you can't."
"Thor, you may have been royalty in Asgard, but this is Earth. I have the right to refuse marriage. It wouldn't be happy between us if we forced it!"
"I can't lose you, dear. This is why I wanted to marry in the first place. We can't throw away what we have now!"
"Please, Thor... I need a break." You say, turning around.
Only for Thor to grab your waist.
"I promise it will be to your liking. A combination of Asgard and Midgard tradition. I'll give you the prettiest ring. You'll be lovely...."
"Thor. Let me go."
"... and if I say no? What will you do then?"
You realize you can't do anything. Thor is much stronger than you. Him holding you like this is effectively a vice grip.
"Thor... please, I love you. We just need a little break."
"If you love me..." Thor whispers, turning your face so he can kiss the corner of your lips. "Then we'll marry."
"If I say no?" You whimper, Thor looking at your eyes briefly. His gaze is dark, pools of yearning within them getting darker.
"We'll work things out...."
---
The cold metal of the ring felt uncomfortable on your finger. The outfit you wore was overly pretty and much to your spouse's taste. It was a wedding... and you were unhappy.
Thor, your soon-to-be husband on the other hand was ecstatic. Part of you wishes you stood your ground, yet how long could you keep that up? Thor is an Asgardian, he could overpower you in seconds.
The entire time up to the wedding and during it, a sensation of feeling trapped weighed heavily in your gut. When you looked at Thor and his behavior... you felt chills. He truly had more power over you than you would've liked.
You were powerless to stop what he had planned.
"My dearest, you look wonderful...." Thor praises you in your outfit. "I understand if you're still nervous... but I promise it will be the same as before."
That's what you were scared of. He was clingy before, now he's going to be even worse in your eyes. You only sigh and nod in response. Thor gives you a smile.
"There's no need to be scared, I'll always be here for you. I love you, my dearest."
He holds you close, a kiss pressed to your lips. You knew he meant this all as comforting, which normally, would be lovely to you.
Yet you never wanted this and the trapped feeling never went away.
There was a need to be scared and Thor, the one you used to love, was the reason behind it.

Chapter 4
Summary : Disastrous Dinner with your parents leads to a small quarrel between you two.
Warning: Smoking, mention of recreational drug use, insecurities, a bit of angst, not so great parenting , 4.5 k words
Tumblr media
After your mom left you immediately took a shower to cool down a little bit, it was 10 am and you had plenty of time to prepare for the evening.
He went to the bathroom after you and when he came out you could feel him staring at you but he wasn't saying anything.
"What?" You looked at him so he averted his gaze and pretended to read his book. "Gotta call my boss, i don't think I can go to work today"
You mumbled as you dialed the manager's number and put it on speaker phone because you wanted to paint your toenails.
"Hiii Mark it's y/n" you said cheerfully and you heard him grumbling in response. Just great
"I just ..uhh wanted to tell you that I won't be able to make it today, sooo"
"Whyyyyy?"
"Uhhh it's a family emergency"
"You can't just take a leave out of nowhere, you have to inform way beforehand, " he said, clearly sounding upset. Did he understand the meaning of emergency? Doofus
"Yeah I would have but it's umm I don't think you heard me right. I said that my family's car was hit by a bulldozer and some of them were still in it. And now they're in an emergency ward so I have to go see them..see you tomorrow byee" you tapped on your head in frustration as you hung up "Argggghh I hate this day already"
Also, why did you have to keep the phone on the speaker?
"So your mother seem ..a bit ahhh –" you found him to struggling to form a complete sentence which wasn't like him at all.
"Overbearing?"
"That. Yes. That"
"She is like that, but she means well"
His brows furrowed as you said that. He was finding it a tad harder to believe.
"Okay, we need to make a man, asap" you said to him as you tightly closed the bottle of the nail paint after you were done using it. He laughed in response because he thought you were joking.
"Darling, I promise it can not be Asap. I mean it would take months for him to grow in your womb before he's birthed and–" he stopped talking as you gave him the look that he had learned to understand as a sign for Stop right now. You sighed as you stood up and went down on your knees in front of him, you placed your hands on his thighs and the position made him gulp.
"I want you to be my boyfriend" his eyes flickered as you said that.
"Ohhhhh?"
"Just for the evening" you clarified it immediately. God you hoped he didn't think of you as some midgardian desperate creep.
"Oh"
"Will you do it for me please?"
"I uhhh–"
"Pleaseee please do it .. please I'm begging you Loki please I'll do anything you'd ask please " you joined your palms together and begged him to just help you out. You didn't really have to beg he thought, you saved his arse, he would walk right into the sun if you'd ask him to.
"I just..never have been a boyfriend before "
"You said you had relationships "
"What is the correlation here?"
"Huh?" He sighed as you failed to understand him.
"I just don't want to ruin this evening which I am sensing- is already a very stressful affair for you" he mumbled as he placed his elbows down on his thighs to rest his chin in the palms of his hand.
"You won't ruin it, oh no please. I'd love to have a friend while we eat dinner..a friend who actually likes me..you know" your eyes teared up so he cupped your cheeks and leaned forward to press a soft kiss on your forehead. That gesture made you feel so warm but you wished you had more time to relish in this feeling.
"I am very fond of you my darling" he mumbled softly. The words made the butterflies go crazy in your stomach. Okay so you were attracted to him which you had already figured by the intense feeling you kept having where you wanted to fuck him all the time, there was the bubbling scorching heat between you two and you also wanted to cuddle him all the time now, all of these things combined together looked bad when you considered how he was literally unattainable. A fucking prince, he was a god that you couldn't even dream of having. He probably wouldn't even look twice at you if you were in a crowded room full of all the beautiful women in the world, women that he probably deserved to have.
Everyone kept telling you that you had higher standards for yourself but then he must have them too right? You weren't it unfortunately.
"Is that a yes?"
"Yess" you stood up and jumped around a little in excitement.
"Oh wait butt oh no.. they can't see you..my mom will recognise you, she's obsessed with you..but in a very bad way"
"She is?"
"Yeah she hates you "
"I figured that..umm do not worry about that. I'll take care of this" he pointed towards his face so you went down on your knees again. You had to stop doing this in front of him because one of these times he'd forget to enchant his cock to not get hard in a jiffy.
"But .. I don't want anyone else there, I want you, I mean. I like this face..it's such a loki looking face that I like" he chuckled as you said that. Sometimes your words hardly made any sense and that's exactly why he adored them so much.
"How about I change my hair and the color of my eyes, maybe get a bit of facial hair, the face stays" you tilted your head as he said that.
"That could work besides there's no way she'd think that you're him with all those modifications you know..oh that's a great idea. Well I'm going to cook now..by the way can I paint your toenails afterwards? You have such pretty toes" you got up from the floor again so he looked down at his feet.
"Noooo" he yelled, making you giggle but now another thing was starting to bother you.
"Wait a second!! You don't have clothes, I need to get you earth people clothes"
"Yes I was troubled by that thought" He did have a suit he had stolen from a midgardian shop when he visited Thor a few years prior after he was banished but for some reason the idea of putting it on again disgusted him. And he couldn't have worn his famous Terrorist from Asgard terrorising Stuttgart overcoat either for obvious reasons.
"Oh no I have to go get it for you then ..it's 11 already and I have to make dinner, and dessert also and oh my god it's so dirty around here, what I'm gonna doooo??" he walked towards as you started to freak out again.
"Now let us pause for a moment here. Take a deep breath for me, can you?" He told you as he grabbed your shoulders to calm you down.
"Okayy..okay..i'm just freaking out" you took a deep breath in order to not pass out right this moment.
"You go purchase the attire for me and I will tidy up the space until then. That is alright?" He asked you so you hugged him tightly, his arms instantly wrapped around your waist as if it was the most natural state in the world, breathing in the scent of your hair he sighed deeply.
He really needed to get a grip. A woman like you deserved a man so noble and not a hideous looking frost giant like him whose moral compass has broken a long time ago. You have waited so long for the man of your dreams and he could never be it for you.
"I'll be back soon"
It took you two hours to find something decent for him to wear, you even had to buy a pair of shoes for him, you saw a bunch of cute t-shirts so you bought that as well. You heard the shower running when you came back from the mall, you couldn't even recognise your apartment. It looked beautiful. First of all it was clean, ofcourse. But he had done something with the lighting as well, it seemed fancier, like a classy restaurant, and it smelled really good too. He had also filled the space with a much needed furniture you didn't have.
There was an elegant looking table right in front of the kitchenette. Bonus point? It also had chairs, you had chairs in your apartment.
The bed was covered in a beautiful satin sheet. Asgardian sheet. He also had that sofa all cleaned up, it looked brand new.
You put the shopping bags down on the sofa as your eyes circled around again. When he entered the room you immediately ran towards him to hug him, momentarily forgetting that he was naked from the waist up and dripping wet.
"This is.. gorgeous..you're like a sorcerer" you mumbled as you pulled away from him and took a few steps back, he was freezing cold. He smiled as he walked closer and wiped the droplets of water from your cheeks, the ones you had gotten by hugging onto his naked wet chest so tightly.
"I'm a sorcerer " he giggled and it made your heart grow ten times larger.
"Thank you Loki, you have no idea what you have done for me" your eyes teared up and so did his, but then again you didn't have time to enjoy this moment, they would be here in like three hours, you also had to get ready.
He tried to help you in the kitchen as much as he could but he wasn't really helping plus the heat bothered him a lot so you made him sit down on the sofa, he had done enough already and you were very grateful for that.
After cooking and assembling the cutleries on the table which again was the courtesy of your alien friend, you put on a dress and finished your makeup. You looked good for a change, the black dress complimented your dark soul. It always did.
You looked at him as he got himself dressed too, you didn't want to go overboard with his attire, there was a dark green jacket because you remembered that to be his favorite color, a plain black t shirt underneath with a tight fitted trouser. For some reason you knew he wasn't the denim jeans type of alien god.
His tush looked extremely good in those pants but that's not what shocked you, it was the change in his appearance. He kept his face but his hair was no longer raven, it was light brown and shorter, you could finally see the back of his neck and it was as smooth as the rest of his skin, his eyes were hazel brown, light freckles adorned his nose and cheeks. The finishing touch was the golden tan on his skin and that I haven't shaved in a week stubble. Even though he had the same face he didn't look like himself. He actually reminded you of that guy from that one King Kong movie you couldn't remember the name of.
"This okay? Or do I resemble my oaf brother a little too much" He asked you so you smiled.
"You look very handsome mister" And hot, and sexy, delicious.
A nervous laughter escaped his throat at the compliment.
"And you my lady, you look–-" before he could finish his words you heard the buzzer going off so you hurriedly stepped towards the door and got them in. You felt anxious and awkward like always, having dinner with four people where you didn't really like the three of them was not your idea of fun. As you opened the door you saw your mom and her husband David first so you hugged her and your step father gave you a side hug.
"Welcome to my humble abode" you chuckled as they stepped in, then you met his daughters from hell, his perfect little princesses, the elder one was named Chelsea, she was a year younger than you and married. Ofcourse because she was just perfect like that. You weren't expecting her to bring her husband Shawn though.
"Wow i didn't know husbands were coming" you mumbled as you hugged her and your mom glared at you.
The younger sister Courtney gave you cheek kisses. Pretentious bitch. She was just 25 but obviously more accomplished and much more successful in her career according to your mother.
As they all stepped inside you noticed them looking around, they had never been here before.
"Wow, this is so tiny and adorable, you know when daddy said you were renting a studio apartment i thought it'd be bigger" Courtney said and you resisted the urge to poke her eyes out.
"It's actually bigger than most studio apartments, I'm actually not supposed to have that whole window area, default in their infrastructure, goodie goodie for me" you felt everyone's eyes on you so you stopped talking immediately, turned around and walked towards Loki, you grabbed his arm and decided to introduce him to everyone, most of them looked shocked but atleast your mother was smiling from ear to ear.
"This is uhh.." oh god you didn't think of a name. Ofcourse you didn't. You see Perfect Chelsea over there would have thought of a name.
"Mark, this is Mark Johnson..he's an auditor for the ..uhhh Marks and Spencers" they smiled at him as you introduced him. No, that name didn't sound fake at all. Nope.
"Hello Mrs. Umm –" he looked at your mother. Wow you two really should have discussed this part a little more. Like for real.
"Used to be something else now she's Mrs Jackson" you told him so he gave your mom a hug. She looked at you as she hugged him and mumbled a wow behind his back which made you want to die from embarrassment.
You didn't want to waste much time so you all sat down for dinner. The problem was he only made six chairs, and there were 7 of you. Gee, No thanks husband Shawn.
"You sit down okay?" You made Loki sit down so he grabbed your arm and scooted a little to the side, one of his buttocks was hanging in the air but he didn't care, he didn't want you to feel left out at your own family dinner.
As you sat down next to him, well almost onto him, everyone cooed. It's not as if you weren't getting used to being squished against him.
"So i noticed the accent, are you a London boy Mr. Mark" you wanted to hurl at the way Courtney was looking at him.
"Uhh yes, England" You took a sip of the wine you had in front of you, for the god of lies, he wasn't really good at living up to that status.
"So you're here on business? How did you two meet?" Your mom asked you so this time you answered instead.
"Ohh he's a member at the gym I work for" you smiled.
"Why do I feel like I have seen you somewhere?" Your mom squinted her eyes and it made you nervous.
"Ohh he looks like that guy from that movie.. I don't remember..the one with the big burly ape" you agreed as Shawn said that. Well thanks Shawn
"Ohhhh yeah..yeah you're right"
"So auditing? You like that job, son?" David asked him. Oh!! he's not your son David. No no considering his age, David was the son, his father was the son, his grandfather was the son. Why couldn't you just stop having thoughts for once?
"No. I don't know what that is actually" he chuckled and then you heard them all laughing in unison. You did too before you glared at him,
"Wow, good looking and funny. By the way, raise your glasses everyone.. I have an announcement" Courtney grabbed her glass of wine and took a deep breath before she proceeded to speak.
"I got the job in London..ahhhh" she squealed as she celebrated herself and everyone then squealed for her, she worked for an embassy or something, you never cared to find out. Your mother did remind you now and again as how it could have been you if you'd have been a little sincere about your life.
"Ohh honey congratulations, that's amazing, I'm sooo proud of you" your mom said to her so you smiled in disbelief.
"Okay okay..i have a news too. We have a news" Chelsea said as she smiled from ear to ear and looked at her husband "So I'm not drinking wine because I'm abstaining, I lied sorry.. hint hint" She pointed towards her belly and the whole world gasped for her.
"Call Odin and ask him if he heard the gasps" you mumbled in his ear and he bit on his cheek to stop himself from smiling. She was pregnant ofcourse. They all hugged her and congratulated the lovely couple, so did you, you had no other choice.
"Both of our daughters make me so happy sweetie" David's eyes teared up as he held your mother's hand.
"I am so proud of them"
After the happiness died down a little, Courtney looked at you.
"So y/n you're a trainer at the gym right..don't they like pay very less?"
"It actually depends on my competence and how many clients I can get in a month," you said to her. No you didn't miss the snark, you just wanted to ignore it.
"Oh.. so less huh"
God you hated her.
"Shoot i am out" David said as he opened the box of his cigarettes.
"Oh honey" your mom comforted him and then she glared at you as Courtney made another comment.
"Y/n smokes, just ask her for one dad"
"It was just that one time.."
You tried to defend yourself but your mom cut you off as she shook her head in disappointment.
"Look if you have it, just be a good hostess and give one to him" she said to you so you were about to get up but Loki stopped you.
"I'll get it darling. I found it while cleaning" he said to you so you smiled, as he walked towards the closet you wondered what he meant, what did he find? As he returned he passed the lighter to David along with that fucking joint you couldn't find yesterday.
"Uhhh this is not..is this weed?"
You stood up and snatched it from his hand. Loki felt mortified now, maybe he should have asked first if your stepfather wanted to smoke weed or something else. He really should have thought a little harder about it.
"It's not mine, it's a friend's" you mumbled so your mom looked at you.
"Oh sweetie, are you in the wrong company again?" She questioned and you immediately denied. You felt overwhelmed now, you just wanted to go cry in your bathroom.
"I apologise darling, i had no clue what he wanted" he whispered in your ear so you sighed. He just wanted to help.
"It's fine..it's okay " you told him, you didn't want him to feel bad about this even though you felt completely mortified now.
"So what are your plans for marriage?" The wine came out of your nose as your mom questioned Loki.
"Mommm" you glared at her and gestured to cut it out but ofcourse she ignored the cue.
"I'm just asking, you two make a cute couple..what do you guys think?" She looked around the table for approval.
"Ohhh yess hook him in y/n before you lose this one too" Courtney cackled like a witch. Loki felt awful, these people reminded him of those bilgesnipes, all ready to pounce and attack you for no reason. He felt something grazing over his shin so he looked under the table and saw a bunch of toes rubbing against him. It belonged to one of your sisters.
"She's touching me" he whispered in your ear so you looked under the table and she stopped immediately.
"Marriage is such a beautiful thing, it just makes me sad that y/n is going to be in her thirties now and she's still..so lonely" Chelsea gave you a sad look making you scoff in response.
"But I'm happy.. and I don't really care alright?"
"Well you should care honey, when you're sixty and alone with no-one to take care of you you'll regret this attitude" your eyes teared up as your mother chimed in. You saw your step sisters smiling and passing glances to each other.
"Didn't you marry twice?" Loki asked your mother so you glared at him and asked him to cut it out.
"Excuse me?" Your mom had the typical look of disapproval now. You could just tell she didn't really like him any longer.
"You married her father and it must not have worked very well since you are married to this gentleman here now?" He asked her again so you facepalmed.
"But that's life, that happens, sometimes things don't work out between two people, there are several different reasons why people get divorced" she raised her voice a little and you could feel everything getting out of your hand now.
"Well pardon my interference but perhaps she doesn't want that to happen to her as well, maybe she wants to spend her life with someone who would be there for every reason and not only for a season" your mom gave him a death glare as he said that and so did you. The tension in the room kept on piling up.
He could tell you were upset with him for opening his big mouth today.
After the dinner and dessert ended, you were hoping for them to just leave, you had no energy to take more insults.
"Sooo we are going to be here for two days, let's go somewhere tomorrow" your mom hugged you as she spoke so you hummed in agreement "And lose this one, he's not the type of man who is going to marry you" she said to you as she pulled away.
"Yeah? Why do you think that?" You chuckled but it was because of the frustration you were feeling in the moment.
"Look at him honey. Don't be such a fool, men like him don't settle for women like us, he's just having his fun I can tell" you nodded as she said that. Once they all left you shut the main door with a force and then you turned around to glare at him.
"Y/n i –"
"You could have just kept your mouth shut you know"
"I didn't intend to disrespect her, she just--"
"What were you trying to do then huh? Do you know how hard that divorce was on her? On me?" Your eyes welled up as you questioned him. That comment your mom made was the last nail in the coffin and unfortunately she wasn't here to bear the brunt of it so you took it out on him.
"I am sorry, please don't be upset darling" he mumbled softly but you were too angry to care right now.
"I'm not your darling, giving him the roll of weed wasn't enough for you huh? God I wish you weren't here today, it's all my fault" his eyes filled with tears as you said that. A part of you knew you were misdirecting your anger and frustration on him but you still couldn't stop, you wished you would have though because the look on his face bothered you a lot, you never wanted to see him look so sad and that too because of you.
You scurried towards the bathroom and then the tears couldn't stop coming, your step sisters were younger and better than you and they were living their best lives while nothing turned your life around no matter how much you worked for it, they were accomplishing everything they had dreamt of while several of your dreams had already been shattered, you had successfully wasted half of your life so far and accomplished nothing. Your mother probably wished for a daughter like them and that's why she found love in David again.
When you came out, he looked at you with a worried look on his face, he still had the same clothes on but he was back to looking like himself. Did you really just tell him that you wished he wasn't here after everything he had done for you today? God, you felt like a selfish asshole. No wonder you didn't have anyone in life that you could actually count on.
"Do you want me to disappear?" He asked you and you suddenly felt so anxious.
"No. I'm sorry..I'm so sorry Loki" as you started to sob he walked towards you and hugged you as tightly as he could, that was it for you in that moment, you broke down and cried until you couldn't cry any more.
"I'm sorry I didn't mean it, please don't go, i ..you're the only true friend I have..the best one i have ever had, and you were so good to me today, so sweet and I'm so sorry lo" you pulled away to look at him so he cupped your cheeks and kissed your forehead.
"I'm sorry I ruined the feast with my callousness" you smiled as he said that. He wasn't being callous, he just wanted to defend you. What a sweet sweet man.
"Well it's not as if it was going any better before..so I'm not really sorry about it" he kissed your forehead again and you just wanted to kiss him, it took everything to not clash your lips against his in that moment.
"You don't deserve to be treated in such a manner, you went through such pain today to make this enjoyable for them and you don't deserve anyone hurting you like that, none of the things they said hold true whatsoever" he said to you softly.
"You don't either Loki, I'm sorry it was me who hurt you today but I never want to be such a jerk to you again" he smiled at the statement.
"I understand, I have had my fair share of outbursts to comprehend that it didn't come from a place of malice but mere frustration and it wasn't intended for me" he mumbled and it made you smile. God he really was a dreamboat.
"Thank you Loki for everything you did today. You have no idea how much I appreciate you being here for me right now, i really do"
You hugged him again and took a deep breath, his hugs and sweet words really made you feel better than before. He was your friend, you loved having him as your friend. You looked up at him and the look in his eyes made you aware of the close proximity so you stepped away a little, he placed his hands inside the pocket of his pants to avoid the awkwardness but he had something in there so he took it out.
"What is it?"
"Something one of your sisters shoved into the pocket when we greeted each other" he said as he passed the slip to you. It was her phone number. What a bitch.
"Burn it down"
"Yes madam" you smiled as he said that.
"Umm..I'll go sleep, I'm tired" you mumbled as turned around and stepped towards the closet to take your pyjamas out.
"Uhh..What can I do to make you feel better?" he asked you, so you sighed.
"Nothing i– " Well actually "There's something you can do" you gave him a mischievous smile and he sighed as he understood what you wanted from him.
That's how he ended up on the sofa with you sitting on the floor with his feet resting on your thighs while you painted his toenails the same colour as yours.
"So pretty" you giggled as you finished the one leg and it warmed his heart. It was unbearable for him to see that hurt look on your face throughout the evening, knowing that there were people in the world who hurt you like that made his heart clench, he just wanted you to not feel that way like ever. He wanted to keep you protected.
"Maybe tomorrow we can do your makeup" you said nonchalantly making him tilt his head in response.
"How about no?" He responded and you feigned a look of disappointment.
At night he slept in that bed of yours, his sad brows were faster than your resistance today. You couldn't sleep though. You kept wondering if he'd come cuddle you but it has been an hour and he seemed asleep now. Wow this really bothered you, him not cuddling you by force like he had done in the last two days really really bothered you.
You sat up and got off from his princely bed then you took a few steps towards yours, you thought about what you were going to do for a moment. When he cuddled you, it was circumstancial, he had a nightmare the first night and then his body ached the other, you had no choice in that matter, you could have always pretended that you didn't love his cuddles but getting in the bed now would affirm that you indeed enjoyed sleeping with him like that and wanted it as much as he did.
Fuck it your cursed in your head before crawling into the bed. He was asleep but he did feel your body next to him, maybe he'd think that he was dreaming. Goddss he smelled divine.
He was lying on his side facing towards you so you sneaked your hand in the space between his neck and the pillow, he felt the invasion and instead of opening his eyes and calling you out for it he scooted closer to you instead and pressed his head down on your chest like he had done before. One of his arms went under your waist to pull you even closer while the other wrapped around you.
He embraced you as intimately as he could without it turning too sexual, this was the most intimate you had ever been with a man. Sure you had sex but even then you had several inches of distance between your bodies somehow. You hooked your legs around his waist in the usual position.
"Thank you" you mumbled softly in his ears and he hummed in response. You were thankful for him, you had known him for mere few weeks but you had never felt so strongly understood by someone.
"I'm overjoyed that you came. I just figured you needed your personal space tonight, perhaps I was mistaken " you smiled as he mumbled against your chest.
"Perhaps"
You knew it won't take you long enough to fall asleep now, you wondered if this was appropriate or not but you no longer cared for it. You also knew that you were only digging a deeper hole for yourself. Getting addicted to the feeling of cuddling him like this will only hurt you later when he won't be here with you. Your mother wasn't wrong, men like him didn't choose women like you for life but then you knew that already, didn't you?
Nothing so good could ever last forever, nothing so sweet and gentle could ever be wholly yours. Maybe you can press the stop button on this tomorrow but tonight you just wanted to indulge a little. Tonight you just wanted to live a little. Something that you haven't done for as long as you could remember.

peter parker x avenger!reader who can speak to flowers and plants, EXCEPT peter parker is oblivious to the way flowers just seem to grow at his feet and how daisies just lean towards him every time he smiles at r, and when r starts giving everyone in the compound flowers from their hand with a shimmering smile, peter can’t help but wonder why he hasn’t been given one yet, and why his heart seems to hurt when r spends a little bit too much time in thor’s arms.

ughhh this was such a cute, fluffy req and i ended up turning it into a mess of angst and insecurities and isabella madrigal but thank u 🏄🏻‍♀️ for sending this in! maybe i'll make some happier follow ups?

peter parker x plant powered! reader
summary: you feel useless; you grow flowers while the other avengers fight battles. peter sees so much more in you, but it seems like you only have eyes for thor.
w/c: 3.0k
notes: gn! reader, angst w/ a happy ending, insecurities (feeling inadequate/reduced to looks/underestimated, etc.), jealous!peter, bestie!thor, flower symbolism that i spent a long time researching and i'm hoping it's accurate

being a superpowered avenger with a crush on another superpowered avenger while living in a multimillion-dollar compound that had its own walk-in ice cream fridge was pretty damn awesome. the only thing that could ruin the experience is if your aforementioned superpowers were absolutely useless and thus subject to constant (yet creative) mockery.
(hint: your aforementioned superpower was, in fact, stupid and ridiculed.)
“i feel stupid and ridiculed,” you huffed dejectedly. you and thor were sitting in front of a beautiful picnic spread complete with cucumber finger sandwiches and flasks of asgardian liquor.
“it is alright, midgardian. my brother, loki, is also stupid and ridiculed, but he is a god.” thor paused. “well, you are not a god, but you are—what is it that you little ones say these days? ah, you are W.”
you chuckled sadly, digging your toes into the soft tufts of grass that had sprouted when you’d laid down your picnic blanket. you were grateful for your gift, you really were, but compared to earth’s most powerful, dangerous, and influential people (and also aliens and gods), you were more like a glorified family pet.
“you contribute greatly to the avenging family,” thor reassured, placing one large hand on your shoulder with unintentionally strong force. you felt your body tilt under his strength. you sighed; you must’ve voiced your thoughts out loud.
“if by contribute, you mean reviving sam’s succulents every two months and supplying tony with emergency flower bouquets when he’s upset pepper, then yeah, i guess.”
“do not distress! you are also capable of growing poisonous mushrooms! my brother, loki, enjoys them. they are cute but deadly, like him. and you are sometimes an exterminator! the venus flytrap you gifted me remains in my asgardian throne room. it is very effective. i have not seen a single fly since.”
“that’s because there are no flies in asgard, thor.”
thor patted you on the back twice, forcing you to bend forward with each heavy-handed tap. you looked up at him, watching the man with long, golden hair and piercing eyes look down on you sympathetically. despite him being literally all-powerful and worthy of wielding a crazy magical thunder hammer, you had formed an unexpected bond with thor.
“you know, there was a time in my life when i was unsure of if i was worthy of mjolnir. i only played video games and drank asgardian hard lemonade. however, just because you may not see your worth at the moment does not mean it is not there. i was still as worthy and devilishly handsome. i just needed to shower.” thor looked up at the sky wistfully.
you smiled fondly, recalling the old pictures of thor with a beer belly and untamed beard. even when the team had poked fun at his ragged appearance, thor knew it was superficial and not a determinant of his character. the jokes were not a determinant of your worth or importance.
“thank you, thor.” your eyes crinkled and you blinked back your emotions, never having felt so understood. you looked shyly at your toes, admiring how the grass swayed and danced to the beat of your heart. “i never expected to relate to you so much.”
thor laughed heartily, slinging an arm around your shoulder and for the third time, crushing you with his inhuman strength. he pulled you close to his side, and for a moment, you let yourself enjoy the comforting pressure that grounded you.
unbeknownst to the two of you, a sneaky and jealous spider had come searching for you with a certain question in mind. peter knew how much you enjoyed spending days rooted in nature and connecting with your element, so after searching the compound, he figured you’d be in your favorite spot.
but when he reached the rolling bluff at the edge of the compound property, his heart sank at the sight of you and thor cuddled up on a romantic outdoor lunch. and when you pointed to something and giggled, followed by thor pressing a sweet kiss to your head, peter’s heart fully shattered. he left wordlessly, dropping the stop ‘n shop bouquet. it was pointless; you could grow your own flowers anyway.
“orange chrysanthemums,” you nodded towards the small patch you’d summoned, “for you. they symbolize friendship and clarity of mind. thank you, thor, for being here for me and allowing me to see my worth.”
thor gasped with childish delight. “the young spiderling bestowed upon me incredible knowledge the other day!” with deft fingers, thor plucked the flowers by their stems and wove them into a haphazard flower crown. “the five-minute crafts ‘tube film is truly revolutionary.”
“you’re a genius!” you squealed, jumping to your feet and giving thor a hug which ended up being you squishing his head into your torso. “how come i’ve never thought to make flower crowns before?”
the rest of the day was spent closer to the main compound grounds, lounging in the sun with thor as you flipped through a farmer’s almanac for flower meanings and growing them. thor proved to be a talented flower crown crafter, weaving intricate patterns and structures with flower steams and leafy vines. a couple of your teammates stopped to say hello, but nobody was particularly interested in your mindless, trivial afternoon activity. they had more pressing meetings and missions, after all.
“so,” tony said, walking around the counter to set down a luscious chocolate cake that he’d custom ordered on the dining table. “i know we just got back from a mission and two of our agents are in like, critical condition, but that’s booooring. let’s think halloween costumes,” tony announced, rubbing his hands together excitedly. “i was thinking the madrigal family; like, i’m obviously the house, since you’re all living on my compound and in my tower, etcetera… pepper can be pepa—duh—also because she’s always stressed… ooo, we could loop strange in and have him be bruno; plus, nobody likes him anyway so it fits…”
you and thor entered the dining room giggling maniacally, holding your completed flower crowns behind your back. thor was on his tippy toes, pretending to sneak around silently, as you tried (and failed) to stifle your chortles. when you came into view of the entire team sitting around the table with tony rambling about animated movies, the two of you silenced.
tony pointed at you excitedly. “perfect timing! you can be isabella, the one that’s really boring and makes all the eldest daughters cry because they relate to trying too hard but never being enough.” tony grinned proudly. “oh, and you both do the whole flowers thing, so that works.”
the air froze momentarily as you furrowed your brows, laughing breathily in disbelief. the table of avengers—tony, bruce, wanda, natasha, and steve—didn’t even notice. peter, lounging nearby, was the only one who seemed to have noticed your reaction.
“but has anyone watched she-ra?” wanda interjected. “i could totally see perfuma. she’s like this princess that… talks to plants or something.”
bruce raised a finger as if he’d just had a eureka moment. “snow white! doesn’t she grow flowers?”
natasha slapped her forehead. “she picks flowers to distract her from the executioner sent by the evil queen, duh.”
as natasha and bruce bickered about the magical limits of the snow white universe and wanda and steve argued over the coolest character in she-ra, peter just sat there, disengaged in conversation, watching as thor bent down to whisper something in your ear. you nodded, moving away from him, and peter jumped from his seat at the opportunity to catch you alone.
you caught peter’s eye and he smiled nervously at you, wondering if you intended to approach him first. instead, you ungracefully scrubbed at your eyes with your arm, presumably to wipe away tears, and then ran off, the sound of your footsteps bouncing off the empty hallway.
peter shuffled uncomfortably. the person he liked took one look at him, started crying, and then literally ran away from him. way to go, romeo.
“what happened to flower power?” tony stopped his brainstorming at the sound of a sob followed by the meek closing of a door. “are they like, okay?”
“they didn’t even stay for cake,” steve worried. “and it’s chocolate.”
peter cracked his knuckles, a habit he’d picked up whenever he was anxious. he opened his mouth to speak but was interrupted by another barrage of theories.
“maybe they were weeding the lawn and got tired?”
“nah, we have a robotic gardner for that-”
“did sam land in one of the flowerbeds again?”
“sam’s not even here right now-”
“stung by a bee?”
“foot run over by a tractor?”
“found a corpse in the fertilizer-”
“ENOUGH!” thor boomed, his usual joviality turned into fuming eyes and deep, angry breaths. “you midgardians are pathetically shallow-minded and incompetent. was it not evident that your hapless conversation was—how do you midgardians say it—creating uncomfortable energy in the studio?”
the table of avengers looked at thor, confused.
thor moved his hands from behind his back and displayed them. on his arms hung the flower crowns you and thor had spent all afternoon creating. thor carefully laid them on the table, smoothing out any wrinkles in the petals and fluffing the leaves.
“in asgard, we revere nature and its gifts. flowers, plants, trees: they are sacred. we could not breathe, nor eat, nor survive or exist without greenery—without powers like theirs. you foolish midgardians… have you not considered the unlimited power that your superfriend wields? the power of life, creation, and growth. to manipulate the natural land, which is what holds up this very building and the entirety of human creation.” thor sighed, shaking his head like he was scolding a classroom of silly kindergarteners.
thor pointed to the flower crowns, distributing them to the person they were meant for.
“for tony: dark, blood orange tiger lilies and golden yellow jasmines to represent wealth, pride, and elegance”
“for bruce: a circlet of green to celebrate the part of him that he tries to hide. green hellebore and envy zinnia, symbolizing peace, serenity, and endurance.
“for wanda: a crown of purple, made of verbena, crocus, and clematis. to attract butterflies and honor her youthfulness, creativity, and limitless capability.
“for natasha: white and yellow, because she deserves softness; chamomile for her patience in adversity, black-eyed susans for her sense of justice, and edelweiss, for her courage and devotion.”
there was only one more crown on the table, but two avengers left. red, white, and blue flowers—it was clearly meant for steve.
“they put their heart into these, and for steve especially. bluebell, for his humility. white gladiolus, for his integrity and strength. finally, red nasturtium, which they spent hours searching for, to represent his victory and patriotism.”
thor watched as each avenger admired their respective crown before noticing peter, hands empty, standing in the corner looking despondent. thor bit back a knowing smile, approached the frowning boy, and beckoned him closer. peter grimaced as he caught sight of thor’s subtle amusement, scoffing bitterly. was the god here to rub it in further; that he’d won over the object of peter’s affection who he’d been pining over for months?
“they are in their room,” thor whispered loudly. “they will probably want to see you, small and short arachnid child.”
peter elected not to ignore thor’s passive-aggressive insults and nodded determinedly, making his way to your door with his mind racing. thor had said you’d wanted to see him, yet you’d barely acknowledged him and hadn’t bothered making him a crown. he’d be fine with sticks hot glued together, if it meant you’d thought of him. which, he supposed, you hadn’t.
he didn’t get the chance to knock before your door swung open and you waved him inside. “sorry i got all dramatic back there,” you sniffed. “i didn’t mean to ruin the moment.”
“what? you didn’t- no, what everyone was saying was just… wrong. cruel. you’re- well, you’re incredible.” peter cracked his knuckles, the bones popping loudly and drawing your attention. he shook his hands out and looked at you bashfully. “sorry. nervous habit.”
“don’t be nervous,” you smiled sadly. “i’m harmless. literally.”
“y’know, thor showed us those crowns you made. i thought they were really cool, really beautiful.” peter hesitated. “beautiful like you. a-and i don’t want to push anything, ‘cause i know you’re upset and stuff, but i just… thought you should know.”
you clicked your tongue against the roof of your mouth and let out a dark chuckle. “yeah, they are quite pretty. thanks for saying that. i get it a lot, but it’s nice to hear it from- from you.”
“i hope you know that beauty isn’t all there is to you. you’re thoughtful—thor explained all the meanings behind the flowers and you even matched the colors up for everyone… you’re crazy smart—you read a farmer’s almanac and i don’t know anyone as good as biology as you; i suck at bio. and you’re really, really strong.”
you looked up at peter, bewildered.
peter’s face fell when he saw your expression of confusion. how could you not see your own power and endurance? timidly, he stepped forward until his chest was a foot from yours and brought his hand up to straighten your tightened eyebrows.
“don’t look at me like that. don’t look at me like you can’t comprehend your own capability.” peter’s thumb traced down your face—starting at your eyebrows, down to your eyes, where he wiped the remnants of your tears, gently circling over the curves of your cheeks, down to your jawline and trailing to your chin, where he took it between two fingers and tilted your face upwards so he could admire you properly.
“the rest of the team might make jokes, but they’re being close-minded. they talked about isabella, right? well, she grew these stems that encircled the entire house; so strong that they could carry both her and mirabel and it was like they were flying, y’know? a-and perfuma was like, a warrior princess that could choke people out with her vines and whipped them unconscious and could stab people with thorns—i’m kidding, it’s a kid’s animated series. but you get the point. there are possibilities, and just because you can create beautiful, delicate masterpieces doesn’t mean you’re shallow and fragile.”
as peter rambled, you had to bite your lip to stop the beam that was fighting to escape. you wanted him to talk forever, and you were scared that if you looked like you felt better, he’d stop with his words. admittedly, you loved the praise. but you loved the sound of peter’s voice and his loving caress and the way he seemed to believe in you—maybe even more so than yourself.
“peter,” you whispered hoarsely, letting yourself smile. “thank you, peter.”
peter swallowed thickly, having not thought ahead to what would happen after he spilled his guts out about his admiration of you. “uh, you’re welcome?” his voice cracked embarrassingly.
you gave no reaction. instead, your eyes seemed to soften. “i’m sorry i didn’t make a crown for you. i didn’t mean for it to seem like- like i didn’t care.”
peter’s eyes flickered across your face, looking for any sign of a lie. he didn’t want you to reassure you out of pity or because you felt obligated to after he’d complimented you. he cracked his knuckles, feeling the confidence he’d exuded a minute ago begin to die.
you grabbed his hands and forced his fingers to unclench from his palms, your own fingers running over his skin. your fingers were calloused from the time you spent outdoors, tending to your variety of plants, and it only heightened his belief that you were more than just pretty, that you were just as durable and strong.
“i didn’t know what flowers to use,” you said lowly, unable to meet his eye. “‘cause red roses are cliché; well, roses in general, and tulips and lilies have been overused, and baby’s breath seemed kind of bridesmaid-y, and- and carnations remind me of mother’s day, and you’re not my mother, so i just-”
“hey, it’s okay,” peter reassured. “i won’t lie, i was worried at first. i thought you just completely forgot about me, which is ouch. but it means a lot that you cared… so much.”
you squeezed his hands tighter. peter felt something tickle the fleshy inside of his palms and looked down curiously. slowly, your hands moved away from his and he watched in amazement as little buds began sprouting from your hands and falling as they made their way into full bloom.
daisies and their stray petals littered the floor beneath him, and peter tried his best not to move in fear of crushing one of the flowers. you looked equally surprised, but quickly caught your bearings, and when peter looked back up at you, you were holding a little bouquet of misshapen, droopy daises with a shy smile.
“so you don’t crack your knuckles,” you explained. “and because they represent new beginnings and, um, true love.”
peter’s face contorted as he took the flowers from you, fingers brushing over yours. you examined peter’s expression intensely, heartbeat skipping as you followed the way his face seemed to twist and morph into something similar to disgust.
but when peter held the daisies up to his nose and made a big show of smelling them, bringing them down from his face to reveal a huge, bright grin, you allowed yourself to indulge in one of your own.
“i take it you like it?” you muttered, shuffling closer as petals shifted beneath your shoes.
peter nodded, wrapping the arm that held his flowers around your back to pull you even closer. it was like you could feel the warmth emanating off him. he was like sun.
“i like it a lot. not as much as i like you, though.”
“i gave you a gift, didn’t i?” you breathed, eyes bright with anticipation. “do i get anything in return?”
peter hummed. “well, what would you like?”
you rolled your eyes at his game. “surprise me.”
neither of you was surprised when your lips met, initially brushing against each other like hesitant spring sprouts, before exploding into colorful, passionate blooms.

Okay okay okay I just seen your requests are open and that is flippin sweet, so don't think I am WEIRDDDD or nothing but I always like asking my favorite writers to do my favorite trope!
which is an overly worried Loki taking care of his ill mortal. Like the more ridiculously worried, the happier I am like I just want this man to fret over me for some reason.
And I love how different writers spin it sooooo please spin for me?!
@lokiprompts thank you so much for sending this!! I'm so excited to finally work on this one! I was so upset when it vanished cause you got shadowbanned 🥺🥺
I really really hope you like it!! 💚💚

Loki, I'm Fine
Pairing: Loki x female reader
Warning: being sick (not covid), angst maybe? fluff and Loki worrying
Summary: You and Loki finally get a chance to go on your first vacation as a couple and you couldn't be more excited. A few days before the trip, you start to fell under the weather and of course he notices. You insist repeatedly that you are fine and decide to go ahead with the vacation. As soon as you leave, it becomes very obvious that you are anything but fine and Loki does everything he can to help you feel better.
A/N: the title is a bit of a joke between me and my friends since apparently I don't know what "fine" actually means lol
_______________________________________
"Just three more days," you whisper to yourself as you shut down your computer and get up from your desk, a little too quickly. You've had a headache since you woke up but it would fade for periods of time, returning immediately if you turned your head or stood up. Closing your eyes, you put your hands on your desk and you can feel yourself swaying slightly although you are trying to remain still. You stay like that for a few moments, breathing deeply while your headache slowly passes.
A single knock and the sound of your office door opening cause you to open your eyes quickly and look up. Your headache returns full force and you can't help but groan softly.
"Hello love-" Loki greets you when he enters your office but his smile vanishes and he closes the door behind him. "Are you alright?" he asks, his expression turning to concern.
"I'm fine," you tell him, trying to convince him with a smile.
"Mmhmm," he hums, "You're going to need to try harder if you want me to believe that, Y/N." He walks over to you and puts his hand over yours which you realize is still gripping the desk.
"Its just a headache, Midgardians get them all the time you know," you explain, not looking at him.
Loki takes your hand off the desk and holds it, rubbing the back of your hand with his thumb. He touches your cheek lightly with his other hand and you look up at him but the angle makes you slightly dizzy. You close your eyes involuntarily and you feel Loki move closer to you, "Are you sure? I have a meeting with Stark and Rogers in a few minutes but I can cancel it if you need me."
You smile and say, "Nice try, Mischief but you can't use me as an excuse. I know you hate those meetings."
He laughs a little and shakes his head, "Go up to the apartment and rest, I'll bring you dinner when we've finished." His tone is soft but you know there is no use arguing with him. You agree and he kisses your forehead. "I shouldn't be longer than an hour. I love you," he says.
"I love you too," you respond and he leaves your office.
_______________________________________
You sit up, pulled from your restless sleep once again by a coughing fit. You cover your mouth tightly and try to quiet yourself, hoping not to wake Loki.
A moment later you feel his hand on your back, slowly moving up and down. "Y/N?" he asks, sounding half asleep but worried. He turns on his lamp and then with a small green flash, produces a glass of water which he hands to you.
"Thank you," you whisper as you take a few sips. Your coughing stops but your throat feels scratchy and you groan in pain as you swallow.
"Darling, are you sick?" Loki asks and you shake your head. He continues to gently rub your back and tries to get you to look at him.
"I'm fine, it's my allergies," you shrug and continue drinking your water.
"Y/N, you're not fine. You've been coughing all night and I know your headache hasn't gone away," he responds, tucking a piece of hair behind your ear. You look over at him and you can see how concerned he is. "If you're sick we should stay home tomorrow," he suggests.
You look down, playing nervously with the now empty glass. "I don't want to cancel it," you tell him quietly. "Loki, I know how hard it was for you to get the time off and it's our one year anniversary. I don't want to ruin our first vacation. It's just a cough."
"Y/N, look at me," he says softly and you do. He takes the glass from you and it vanishes in a green flash then he takes your hand in his. "You know I've been looking forward to our vacation to Niagara Falls as much as you have darling but tell me, honestly, do you feel well enough to go? I won't be upset if we need to move the trip, I just want to make sure you are alright."
"I'll be fine, I promise," you tell, making sure you smile and he nods.
"Ok love," he says. He kisses you softly and you curl up against his chest. You spend most of the night awake, trying to keep from coughing.
_______________________________________
"Y/N," Loki says softly, "Wake up darling." He touches your shoulder, shaking you lightly and you open your eyes slowly. You sit up in your seat and look around, realizing Loki had parked the car.
"Where are we?" you ask confused then you suddenly lean forward and start coughing. Loki rubs your back gently until you finish and hands you a bottle of water. You don't remember falling asleep, rubbing your eyes you look up at the hotel.
"You slept almost the whole way, I didn't want to wake you since I know you didn't sleep last night," he says, you can hear concern in his voice.
You open your door and as soon as you step out of the car your headache begins to pulse again. You wince and close your eyes tightly, holding your hand to your forehead as you lean on the car.
"Y/N?" Loki asks as he comes around to your side of the car. "Is your headache back or are you dizzy?" You look down, not wanting to tell him both. He puts his arm around your waist to steady you. "Come with me," he says quietly as he guides you towards the main doors of the hotel.
You stand in the hall with one arm wrapped around yourself, your other hand covering your mouth as you start coughing again. Loki unlocks the door and turns on the light as he walks into the room. You follow him and your heart sinks when you look around.
The room is perfect, dark rose petals are spread out on the soft white sheets of the large bed. A bottle of your favorite wine sits on the side table with a bowl of chocolate covered fruit. Lit candles line another table with a bouquet of green and white flowers in a glass vase. You sigh and look at the ground, knowing how much effort Loki had put into this romantic getaway.
"I'm sorry darling, I forgot I asked them to do this when I booked the room," Loki says as waves the petals off the bed and extinguishes the candles with a green flash. "Come, relax. I'll get our luggage from the car," he pulls back the covers and pats the bed lightly.
You walk over, keeping your head down and sit on the edge with your arms weaker around yourself. He sits next to you and you shift away slightly, you feel guilty for letting him down. "Loki, I'm sorry I ruined our trip. Everything looks amazing and now it's all wasted," you say softly, trying to hold back both tears and another coughing fit.
He moves closer to you and puts his arms around you, pulling you towards him. He kisses the top of your head as you rest your head against his chest. He doesn't say anything for a moment then he touches your cheek so you look up at him.
"Y/N," he says, his voice sounding more concerned then earlier, "You feel warmer than usual, do you have a fever?" His hand moves from your cheek to your forehead but you start coughing again. When you finish and catch your breath, he stands and says, "I'll be right back darling."
You nod but you can barely keep your tears back any longer, you feel awful physically and emotionally. You're head is pounding and you cough briefly before putting your face in your hands. The door opens and clicks closed and you begin to cry softly, then you hear Loki walking back towards you. He kneels on the ground in front of you and takes your hands away from your face, holding them in one of his hands.
"Y/N," he cups your cheek gently with his other hand. "Please, listen to me. I'm not upset about our vacation and I don't want you to be either. The only thing I'm worried about now is you. I want to make sure you feel better," he says and you nod again but you still feel terrible. "Try to rest love, I'll be back shortly" he says as he stands up, your eyes follow him. "I love you," Loki tells you then he leans down and kisses you.
"I love you too," you answer quietly. When he closes the door you curl up on the bed, gripping one of the pillows tightly.
_______________________________________
After your coughing fit subsidies you look around the room. The luggage is setup neatly in one corner, there is a bottle of water and a box of tissues on the nightstand next to you. The curtains are drawn so the room is dark but you don't see Loki anywhere. You check your phone, it's been almost two hours since you checked into the hotel.
Sitting up, you drink the water Loki left you and blow your nose until you can almost breathe again. A few minutes later you hear the door unlock and Loki walks in. He closes the door and smiles when he sees you are awake.
"Hi love, you sleep alright?" he asks.
"I think so," you answer. "What is all this?" you ask as you get up from the bed and walk over to him.
He places two plastic bags on the table and begins to unpack the items. "I wasn't quite sure what type of illness you have so..." he says as he opens the second bag. "I called Strange and he said you might need a few things," he explains.
"Wait... you called Stephen?" you can't hide your surprise.
He chuckles and nods, "I actually had to call Thor and talk to him first since I didn't have Strange's number." He touches your cheek lightly then kisses you, "See how much you mean to me?"
You put your arms around his waist and he lets go of the items he is unpacking to hug you tightly. "Thank you," you say.
He runs his fingers through your hair and you look up at him, "Come, let's get you well again."
He finishes unpacking everything and you take a look at what he bought. There are several types of cough drops, cough medicine, soft tissues, Tylenol, boxes of tea, medication for cold, flu and sinus issues, vapor rub and chocolate.
You pick up the chocolate questioningly, he smiles and shrugs, "Stark said it seems to make Pepper feel better so I figured it was worth a shot."
You laugh a little and try not to cough. "You called to Tony too?" you ask him in disbelief.
He takes the chocolate back and shakes his head, hiding a smile. "Apparently my brother told the whole team you were ill. Stark called me while I was at the drug store with a few suggestions but I thought it best to stick with Strange's list."
"Except for the chocolate?" you raise your eyebrow.
"Well you haven't eaten anything all day," he replies matter of factly.
You start say something back but you are interrupted by a coughing fit, harder than the previous ones and his smile disappears immediately. When you finally finish, he asks what you need. "We should start with this," you point to the thermometer and he opens the package for you. Sitting together on the edge of the bed, you both wait for it to give you a reading. A few seconds later it beeps and you sigh, "One hundred."
"That is high isn't it?" he asks and you nod then start coughing again. He gets up and looks around the table, picking up a box of pills and a bottle of cough medicine. He brings them over and puts his arm around you while you read the labels.
"Are they the right ones?" he asks hopefully.
"Yes, you did really good Loki," you tell him and he smiles proudly. "Thank you," you say quietly as you take the pills.
"You don't need to keep thanking me darling, I want to take care of you," he tells you, running his fingers through your hair slowly. "Do you need anything else?"
You think for a second then ask him, "Can we cuddle?"
"Of course," he answers with a smile, "Come here love." The two of you lay back on the bed, his arms wrapped around you as he holds you close to his body.
At first you reach for the thin blanket but you soon kick it off, coughing as you do so. You suddenly feel too warm and you groan quietly as you roll onto your side away from Loki. He moves with you, putting one arm around your waist and the other around your shoulders. His legs tangle with yours and he keeps your back flush to his chest.
"Is this helping love?" he asks as he begins to let go of his illusion and takes on his Jotun form. His blue skin feels cool as he stays wrapped around you and you close your eyes, sighing in relief.
"You're perfect Loki," you whisper and he holds you tighter.
"I love you Y/N," he says as he kisses behind your ear and down your neck lightly. His lips feel cool on your exposed skin.
"I love you too," you reply quietly, feeling yourself becoming closer to falling asleep.
_______________________________________
You sit up coughing an hour later and Loki gently rubs your back until you catch your breath. He touches your cheek and forehead, shaking his head as he gets out of the bed. He picks up the thermometer and offers it to you when he sits back down.
He looks disappointed when it beeps and reveals your fever has gone down but is still not normal. He sits next to you again and puts his cooling hand on your knee.
"I think you should eat darling, you haven't had anything since breakfast," he tells you, you can see the worry in his dark red eyes. You agree and move to get out of the bed. "Stay here, I'll get whatever you would like," he offers, his illusion reappearing when he stands up.
"Soup?" you ask, your voice coming out hoarse from coughing.
He nods, kisses your forehead lightly and says, "Soup coming up, I won't be long. I love you."
You start to tell him you love him but your throat is sore and dry, as soon as you begin to talk you cough again. He hands you the bottle of water you are reaching for, "I know love. Here, just rest."
_______________________________________
"Y/N, are you alright?" Loki asks when he opens the door to the room. "Are you feeling sick again?"
You shake your head and finish zipping closed the last piece of luggage. "I'm fine," you tell him, but you don't look at him.
"I don't understand why Midgardians do that," he says, mostly to himself. "I don't want you to tell me you're fine when I know you are not, darling," he tells you, walking over to where you are now standing. "Y/N, I know you're upset about the trip-" he starts but you interrupt him.
"Of course I'm upset about it... I ruined everything by being sick. We didn't get to see anything or do anything you planned," you tell him. "We couldn't even celebrate our anniversary cause I still had a fever."
Your temperature had finally returned to normal two days after you arrived but your cough lasted another three days. Yesterday you finally started to feel like yourself again but you were still too tired to go out. That night was the first time you had slept through the night since you had first started to feel sick.
"You only had a week off and you wasted it taking care of me," you say, as you walk past him to sit on the bed.
"Wasted it?" he asks almost in shock when he sits next to you. "Y/N," he takes your hand in his. "How could you think that was a waste of my time?"
You shrug, thinking back to all the things Loki had done for you over the last week. "I don't know I guess..." you pause. "I've never been with anyone who looked after me like you did. I mean... you stayed up with me every night when my coughing kept me awake. You went out to get me soup and food at all hours. You made sure I always had water and those soft tissues I like. You kept track of when I took my meds so I never missed a dose." He smiles as you talk, holding your hand in his. "I know you called Stephen a few times when my fever kept coming back," you add and he looks down.
_______________________________________
You squeeze his hand lightly and try to get him to look at you again. "I was worried," he says in a low voice.
You move closer to him, "It was just a bit of the flu Loki."
He nods, "I know... but you've never been sick before. I didn't know what to do and I wanted to make sure I was doing everything I could to help."
"You did everything perfectly, more then I could have asked for Loki," you tell him. "I'm really lucky to have you."
"I'm the lucky one. I love you Y/N," he says.
You put your hand on the back of his neck and pull him towards you to kiss him. When you pull back you smile at him, "I love you too."
"You ready to go home?" he asks and you nod.

Hey!! 💚
Ok... so...
I'm thinking you've been with Loki and Bucky for a little while but Loki is starting to get a bit worried cause he sees you wearing Bucky's hoodies a lot lately. You tell him he's being silly and he just doesn't have any comfy clothes for you to borrow but he isn't sure. Maybe Bucky notices Loki is still upset and he helps him find some Midgardian clothes. Then you start borrowing Loki's shirts to sleep in and wear around the Tower with Bucky's hoodies or something like that (ending however you think it works best, I trust you 😁)

@vbecker10! I love it!, you always have amazing request💚  The original ending i had didn’t get saved, so i had to rewrite a whole new one 😣  I hope you enjoy the fic though!

Midgardian Clothing
Summary: Bucky had taken notice of Loki's gloomy mood when you wore his clothes so he came up with a plan to fix it.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Bucky was the first one to notice that something was off with Loki. It could’ve been due to his enhanced senses or simply due to the fact that Loki seemed to have a very gloomy expression anytime he saw you wearing one of Bucky's hoodies or Henley’s.
You didn’t seem to notice the effect you were having on him by wearing Bucky's clothing. In all honesty  it was something you did naturally, before you had started your relationship with Loki and Bucky. You'd wear or borrow Bucky's hoodies from time to time, but since starting a relationship you practically lived in them.
Loki himself didn’t really possess or own any midgardian clothing, that was mostly due to the fact since he's been on midgard all he's only ever worn were suits along Asgardian clothing. You had simply just thought that he didn't like midgard clothing, you couldn't really blame him though because clothes here sucked with sizes and prices. So you did not think anything of it.
To Loki however, he was genuinely hurt and worried. You see, within the start of your relationship Loki had always been secretly insecure and scared. He knew he didn't deserve your love nor did he deserve Bucky’s love. Seeing you now suddenly starting to wear more of  Bucky’s clothing and hardly any of his own made him sadded. He let his thoughts take over and made a conclusion that maybe you loved Bucky more than you loved him.  He tried to voice his corner one night but Loki was never one to voice his words correctly when it came to his feelings.
 Your response was  “your silly love, That doesn't mean i love bucky more. It’s just he has more comfortable clothing, besides I know you don't’ really like midgardian clothes and that is completely okay' ' you had given him  a sweet kiss and he returned it trying to take your words in. Yet when he  saw  you a couple days later in bucky’s henley as the two of you napped. It saddened him even more.
Tumblr media
That’s when Bucky finally had to say something, so the night that you had a mission he took the opportunity to make Loki feel more loved than he already had. So after what felt  like hours of sex ( which probaly was considering there stamina) they both layed there breathless trying to recover from there bliss.
Loki looked up and could see soothing was lingering on his lover's mind. He shifted to sit up before he asked what was wrong. Bucky looked into his eyes and he could see that fear setting in. He didn’t know how to voice his concern properly either. He thought he’d just cut straight to the point.
“ Are you jealous when Y/n wears my clothes?” This confession completely caught Loki off guard because he thought he was hiding his feelings and concerns well. Apparently he wasn’t since Bucky caught on to him. He wanted to deny his accusation and not say anything . It was only a matter of time before you caught on to his lie as well.
Loki Inhaled a deep breath before he had to face the truth. He looked back at Bucky and his expression only held a loving one, the one that made him fall in love with man.
“ I’m going to be honest with you. '' Loki moved to grab Bucky's hand into his own. “ I don’t feel  jealous, I feel rather saddened whenever I see her wearing your clothing. It makes me feel as though she loves you more and I'm simply nothing in this relationship”  he looked into Bucky's eyes waiting for him to be mad or to say that he was being ridiculous and that all this was nonsense.
 Instead Bucky gave his hand a soft sneeze. “ If I would've known you felt like this sooner, I would've done something. Please know that she doesn’t love me more than she loves you.  We both love you Loki, we love you so much.”  He reached his free hand to cup Loki's face.
 “ We both know that our earth clothing isn't exactly  to your liking,'' Loki laughed at his words.
“ Midgard my love, not earth midgard” he corrects him. Bucky just shook his head at his grammar error.
“ Well midgard” he teased “ how about i help you? I could show you a few clothing stores if you'd like?” Loki smiled at his suggestion. SInce he had arrived he hadn’t given the clothing here a chance so he agreed to Bucky's offer. “ I’d liked that very much” he smiled before pulling Bucky down on top of him to kiss him.
The next couple days while you were away bucky took Loki to  some clothing stores he had shopped at. Needless to say, although they didn’t buy too much, Loki was satisfied with his purchase. He bought a couple of hoodies along with some shirts and other clothing items.
His favorite purchase was the sweatpants, he didn’t know midgard could have comfortable clothing and bucky made a comment in the store about his ass looking heavenly in them which made him want to buy them even more.
When the time came and Loki had surprised you, you were beyond thrilled. Yes they were just clothes but they were HIS clothes, now you could wear them whenever you missed him. The night you first wore his clothes to sleep in, Loki felt this happiness in his chest. It was one thing to see you in bucky’s clothing but to see you wearing his clothes made him beyond happy.
Tumblr media
It was a new rotation, you'd wear both of their clothing and they love it but you wanted to do something special for Loki because you still felt somewhat guilty for making him sad. You had chatted with Bucky and he helped  you set up a plan. Although you loved having his new clothing you wanted to wear his Asgardian clothing as a surprise.
So tonight that’s what you did, you had simply worn a new green lingerie set you bought topped with just loki's green cape for his armor.  You waited in the bed for Loki’s arrival and soon enough he came.
“ My Love, where are you? It’s too dark in here” he moved to turn the light’s on and once he did his breath hitched in his chest at the sight of you. You laid there looking beautiful as ever. What made him love the sight even more was you were wearing his cape which he found string until you started to talk.
“ My God, My Love, My Mischief, '' you said seductively as you crawled  to the end of the bed. “ I thought since you went out of your way to have me in your clothing i’d give you a surprise”  you slowly started to undo the cape.
 “ I see you too are getting started without me” he jumped at the voice of bucky but he felt his pants get tight as you began to strip, while bucky was dressed in nothing but Loki’s Helmet and a pair of green boxers. Between you and Bucky you’d both be the death of him.
With that, we see the world through Loki's eyes . . . .
Another step towards the shirking Midgardian.
The right side of my face relinquishes the sting for a long steady burn. Oh, I don’t blame her for the slap, not really, she’s shown a penchant for explosive bouts of emotion, but the unexpected pain makes the uncivilized part of my mind react murderously.
"I'm sorry," she says, hands out in apology. "I'm sorry for hitting you."
I actively reel in the desire to kill her. I am provoking her for more than one reason, I remind myself. I need her mad. “I am willing to admit, transfiguring into the sorcerer was perhaps a bit harsh-”
She stops backing away unexpectedly, and I almost collide with her.
Her shoulders draw back, face contorting with anger. “A bit harsh? A bit harsh!? Are men not taught manners in Asgard? God, why are you such a fucking tool?”
AO3
"You know nothing of my background, I think all Asgardians are tools in one way or another.” I match her energy, each one of us refusing to back down, glaring at each other. Good. “I apologize if I upset you, but it certainly wasn’t personal. All in the spirit of fun.”
“That wasn’t personal? If you upset me?”
"That is what I said."
She is genuinely flabbergasted. "God, you're such a-! What did I ever do to you?"
"What do you mean? I'm here! Against my will! Fixing your mess." I gesture around us. This I genuinely believe. This is not my mess.
She's waving her hands in the air in front of her. "Woah, woah, what? You're still half responsible bud! I need you to be like so for real right now, this is your mess." Right fingers tap on her left palm in beat with her words.
“If I caused you harm it was indirect, I'll admit that much culpability, but I have been practicing magic for longer than your bloodline has existed. There's never been a problem before.” It's true.
“Indirect?” She's almost nose to nose with me on the sloped ground.
"Yes, indirect. If you hadn't been enchanted, then my involvement wouldn't have resulted in this. The enchanter - that is where fault lies."
"Okay? You can't just go into people's heads like that!" She's infuriated. I can feel it, feel all her emotions, hear it in all her thoughts. So... so close.
"Huh. Why can't I? Tell me, I implore you." I know how to sound audibly arrogant. I know the affect that has on someone already frustrated.
"You don't really plan to listen, Loki. We met, and granted I was a little rude, but who just meets someone and then stages a whole shitty diversion just to break into their head? How entitled do you have to be to do that to a person?"
Mind magic is a complicated thing. While I'm in her head I'm bonded to her. When entering a truly fragile mind, it's necessary to bond the guest consciousness to the host, it makes it easier to read the connections and to heal broken bonds. It tricks her mind into thinking I am one and the same. My magic will linger on her for days afterwards, stopping her mind from rejecting the supplementing power.
Such a long time has it been since I have attempted to heal a mind... I have been quite unprepared, forgotten what it is to feel as another feels, hear what another thinks without escape.
It means I feel the throbbing of her pain. I don't like it.
"Do you really think that that's okay?”
I am forced to steel myself. There is a higher purpose to this. Her pain as long as I feel it is my pain, and it makes me want to bite like a wounded dog. I channel that feeling, as I have done so for a millennia - from lashing teeth to a single precise blade. "Sunna, I have met hundreds of thousands of peoples, in different realms and different places. Your kind are born and grow old in the blink of an eye to me. You are nothing to me. I care little for the vapid sensibilities of the common man, just as you cannot weep and wail over every insect killed in your presence because you will never be able to carry on. I am a god and you are a girl. Do you blame a gust of wind for blowing down a castle made of sand? No. No amount of tact could make such a truth easily digestible, and you simply will not be able to induce guilt in me for it."
"Fuck you."
Again, I don’t blame her for the punch. It is the risk you take with provocation. Her fist never makes contact with my face though, I am still quicker than she is, wrapping my fingers around the assailing wrist and holding it firmly in my hand. Unsuccessful attempts to wrench out of my grip were made, and it's harder to restrain her than it technically should be. Perfect. Sunna’s anger is making her stronger.
“So you just mess with people- what- because you can?”
“More or less."
She is preparing another strike.
"Time ever marcheth forth and when you live as long as I do you find entertainment wherever you can.”
I grab her other wrist as well, halting the right hook.
Genuine surprise weaves through the timbre of my voice, “your swings have good form. I refuse to believe that Strange taught you how to fight. That buffoon couldn’t throw a half-decent punch to save his life. Stop it, you’re going to strain a muscle."
She swears at me again.
Something in the air shifts, enough to pull my attention to our surroundings, only for a second but long enough that she pulls me off balance, forcing me to take a step forward. She uses the momentum to grind her heel down on the top of my foot. In real life, this wouldn't have hurt, wouldn’t have caused me to yelp in pain as I did. Every other form I take, I take with me the durability of an Asgardian.
“No matter what I do, what questions I ask, you spin into conspiracy theory, like trying to poison me against Stephen, I know what you're doing-"
"Acknowledging reality is not poisoning."
"You are actually crazy! Like I knew you dressed well, but the way you accessorize the tin foil hat - that's crazy. You wanna talk about bugs? Talk about animals? You’re like a fucking animal skulking around, lying and chipping away at my sanity piece-by-piece. You didn’t put this spell on me, fine, you didn’t intend to cause me harm? Fine! But you fucked up that spell, you fucked up my head, and everything would have been fine if you didn’t feel entitled to other people’s brains and business, so forgive me if I couldn’t give two shits if you did it directly or indirectly. You owe me a solution!”
There's a pregnant pause while she waits for me to say something, my foot tender and throbbing. “You think I dress well?”
Another shift in pressure. The memory around us fades away.
The night sky around gives way to masonry, mortar appearing before bricks, sprouting out of the ground like some bamboo made of only right-angles, the bricks grow in, strange rectangular fruit. The roof was the final thing to form, snapping on and blocking the newly risen sun.
Encased in the walls of the top of a stone clock tower, she shows Memory-Strange some magic she had learnt as a child, waving a hand through the bell that signaled the changing of the hour. A purple glow has washed over her features. It seemed to catch in the sorcerer’s eye.
“This is my mind,” the real her contended.  “You do not get to act this way in here, this is my head.”
The walls of the tower crack and the ground jolts, shards of another scene loitering behind the set. She is almost there, unwittingly close to a breakthrough.
The automatic door to the local gelato shop slid open with a beep, complete with a welcome mat outside, with the words ‘ice to meet you!’ emblazoned in pink. The inside of the shop was almost empty, but she sat with Wong in one of the shop’s pastel tables, eating their gelato and talking.
“I don’t care what you do out there in the rest of the world but you don’t get to come here and laugh at my memories and torture me because you got bored. Get it together! I have no memories, Loki! My brain is so broken! My body could give out on me any second, everything hurts and my magic is gone. I’m scared, so you need to step up! I need you to step up. You owe me.” Color blooms high across her cheeks.
The gelato shop shudders, splintering away, thrusting us into an intoxicated New York city night.
The lights were too bright, so much so that they hurt her eyes. She could hear every sound around us, every hum of a motor vehicle, the rustle of trash being kicked on the sidewalk, and people speaking to each other in various tones all of which were so intrusive that they thudded against her skull but still she couldn’t make out a single word of conversation.
Ah, here we are. The underlayer.
Her pain transports me. Once when I was small, Odin took me out into the forest to hunt. I did not take to physical endeavors in the same way that my brother did and I was acutely aware of how this made me lesser than Thor. Still I was young, and was always chasing the ghost of approval that Odin gave occasionally - not enough to sustain me, but often enough that I was haunted with the need to make him proud of me. Desperate for more.
I did not rejoice in the killing of animals. More often than not it would do little more than to wash me with nausea, but that day we had laid a trap for a bear, a clamp with so much force that it would be able to restrain the beast long enough for Odin to kill it. We sat in wait until the sun set and rose and set and rose again, the time being of little burden to us.
We sat until a reindeer, antlers freshly shed, wandered near. He called for his kind, but there came no reply.
“He is lost,” Odin said.
So profoundly alone, just as I was.
Odin knew of the magic mother was teaching me, and had forced me to render us invisible to the forest, he had said he didn’t want me to be a distraction when the bear came. Through the lens of an adult as I now am, I can see that it was more important for him to model to me what he thought a great warrior should be, to stroke his own ego, because surely the reason I was such a disappointment is because I had not seen him kill personally. But this was no bear. This was a reindeer, lost and alone, and stepping awfully too close to the trap. For a moment I forgot about the spell and I moved to stop him, to chase him away.
“Halt,” it was a simple command from my father, and it was all that it took to freeze me in place.
The deer was going to step in the trap. “Please, father,” I could not drag my eyes from the beast, “we came to conquer a bear, not this. This is not worth our time,” my voice sounded more practical than I felt.
“Watch.”
The deer made only one misstep, and the teeth of the clamp reared up. This trap was made to subdue a creature much bigger and stronger than a reindeer, so the first sound to echo through the forest was the snapping of delicate bone. The second sound, a scream of agony.
I could not move. I was not allowed to. Odin insisted that I watch. If it were a bear caught, he would have charged in and killed the beast (not without show), but death would have been swifter than the slowly encroaching starvation and blood loss. The trapped animal moaned and cried out. Time passed, how much I did not know, but even now, a millennia later I can see the animals panic and terror shift into anger as though it were before my own eyes once again. Asgardian animals are often more conscious than their Midgardian counterparts and I swore I could see the moment that it decided to gnaw off it’s own limb, now broken in several more places from its wild thrashing. Blood pooled around it. After hours of suffering, it tore through its own sinew and muscle, the gore lashed between its teeth.
It was free... but only managed one shaking step before it collapsed. It had lost too much blood, exhausted and in shock. Even with the lengths it had gone to to free itself, it would die soon anyway. Finally, Odin sent in his wolves to end the deer’s life, and my eyes shut tight, so I could spare myself a fraction of the horror that I had been forced to see.
“Open your eyes and watch, boy.” Odin’s words echoed through my mind, and I am brought back to the scene in front of me, bright lights and loud noises, Sunna standing in front of me, the only respite from the calamity.
“Fine. I agree. I’ve behaved out of line, I apologize.”
She did a double-take, trying to figure out if I was being sincere. It was an expression I had seen on many faces over the years. "Why?" She asks.
I do not answer her.
We had broken through to the underlayer of her subconscious, to the memories she could not access by natural means, and it is represented by the New York cityscape stretching out in front of us.
I swept a hand out gesturing down the never-ending block. “When we first entered your mind, we could only access the memories closest to the surface, the ones we knew you to possess, solidified in your mind, untouched by the spell or by the actions of... unaware third parties. We now find ourselves in the deeper layer of the mind, so to speak. This layer is only accessible through a deep emotional outburst.”
"I guarantee that if you have let me know, I could have had a sufficient mental breakdown without all of that. So I'm still mad at you."
"It has to genuine, raw," I insist.
She rolls her eyes, and the expression is quite attractive on her.
“You're so cruel.” It wasn’t an accusation, more of a statement, without mirth.
She is not the first and would not be the last to tell me this.
“I would say it was unbecoming of a prince, but your reputation is built on cruelty. The old stories, the Battle of New York, the way you treat Stephen. Cruel. An apology doesn't hide it.”
“Did you hope to wound me with that comment?”
She swallows. “Yes.” It's honest.
Each memory we watch is framed with a kind of ease after that.
Nothing flows as it should in here. It is starting to become alarming.
Her mind should respond to her intuitively, but it does not. There are no full memories, only fragments left and distorted.
I can feel her frustration lap at me, threatening to boil over any minute.
For the second time I channel the häxeri, witchcraft. A gift from my dearest mother. The darkness flows as I hum. Let me find the threads of her core. Show me the damage. Show me the bonds broken that I may heal them.
Around us, pieces of her bedroom flow into place like smoke. It is a memory of me, the memory of me.
We watch as she snatches the laptop from my hands.
Suddenly I see her perspective of me, tinged with frustration and fear, as I loom over her. She is a reindeer nearing a trap.
Memory-Loki is forced into the armchair, but her powers are unrefined, and she's using anger as her motivator. A burst of green light knocks her to the floor, and in response she aims a surprisingly well placed kick at my legs, which knocks me down hard next to her. She'd hit her head on the ground, and the memory fabric itself became hazy.
One of my own memories flashes behind my eyes, of Thor killing his goats. A predator. An impending doom approaching a trapped animal.
She jolts as I remove my palm from her forehead. Nothing had appeared out of the ordinary. Sunna stormed out of the Sanctum, her phone shoved hastily in her pocket before getting as far away from me as fast as she could.
The real Sunna stands in front of me, and she regarded the scene in front of us blankly. “I used to remember this, like really clearly,” she chewed on the skin of her bottom lip, “so vividly in the hours after it happened. Out there, I mean. But it disappeared like a slow leak. The details are fuzzier. I still remember, but it feels like all of the memories I've got are so fuzzy now.”
I feel sick.
"So how is what you do different from what Gorron does?" she repeats the question.
The first time she asked escaped my attention. I turn my gaze towards her, hyper-aware of her presence here with me. Every mind is different but this mind is so peculiar. "Gorron looks at your physical brain," I clear my throat. "He can watch a memory via osmosis by pressing on the brain tissue, but nothing so deep as this. I am inside your mind right now."
There is something she is feeling that I can’t identify. "How does it compare to the last time you were in my mind?"
"It doesn't."
"Well, how do we fix it?"
“I don’t know yet,” I answer. It's honest. She didn't believe me I could see it in her face. She feels as though I am holding out on her.
"How do you decide which questions to answer and which ones to cryptically avoid?"
"I flip a coin in my head."
The scenery changes around us. The walls of the Sanctum morphed into a place I have never been.
She was writing furiously on a clipboard, taking very detailed notes of the exhibit in front of her. The dark violet of the museum uniform blazer compliments her well.
It took several long moments for her to notice Strange from where he watched her, his face a mix of emotions. Finally, and with much convincing, he approached, stilling a few feet away. “Excuse me…”
She turns, immediately erupting in a smile. “Hi! Did you need some help?”
It took him a few too many seconds to reply. “Uh, yeah. I- I was wondering if you could tell me where the entomology wing is?” He was nervous.
"Of course!" She rattled off some directions, but when the confused look on Strange's face doesn't clear she endeavored to just show him herself.
We followed them to the entomology unit, watching their very first interaction.
"Big fan of bugs are you?" Sunna strikes up a conversation effortlessly.
"Uh, I suppose. Are you?" He looks at her so intensely.
They arrive at their destination.
"No, afraid not. I can't stand them to be honest, but the exhibit is really cool, there's a lot of really passionate people working that one!"
Strange thanks her, but as she walks away he calls out to her, "actually, this is embarrassing, but I totally, uh, spaced out. I meant- the Babylonian exhibition?"
"Oh, well, that's alright, I'm actually heading that way." She gestures for him to follow. "What brings you there?"
"The art, I guess. Big fan."
"That's cool! I don't think it gets the recognition it deserves."
"Oh yeah, me neither. I don't know anything about it. Maybe you could start me off?"
The pair talked for hours, completely absorbed in each other's company, touring the museum. Their humors seemed to mesh, and they have a surprising amount in common, fiercely academic, competitive, intelligent. Not once did anyone come check on her, to find out why she wasn't doing her job. Nor did her coworkers so much as glance in her direction. Finally, Strange managed to detach himself from her side long enough to leave.
"What woman talks to a stranger for hours at work without attempting to end the conversation?" I ask, turning to face the real her. "What woman isn't uncomfortable with this level of attention? Presumably you have things to do, you can’t just spend all your time talking with patrons, especially not just one."
She didn't reply, too busy staring at herself.
If there wasn't a soft rise and fall of Sunna’s chest, one might have wondered if she had been instantly petrified. The light behind her eyes had vanished completely. She did not move, had not moved after Strange left, but the other people of the memory continue on about their business, walking through the Cultures of the World exhibit, ignoring her. It was as if she wasn’t there.
We both stare for a few moments, until the background noise of the museum fades and silence grows louder and louder.
"What’s going on? Why aren’t I moving?”
“I don’t know.”
The lights of the museum blink off one by one. The doors are locked and still she does not move.
As though caught on a breath of wind the memory is gone.
“What the hell was that?”
“Do you remember anything like that?” I ask.
“Well I remember meeting Stephen,” she puzzled, “but I specifically remember finishing work, because the whole time I was super distracted by the idea of visiting the Sanctum. The Bleeker Street occultist is kind of a local legend and I had a professional curiosity in Stephen's collection of antiques- anyway, my boss called me out for not putting an artefact back into storage properly.” She ran her hands through her hair. “Like I remember, I never forgot. It was really embarrassing. Could that memory that we just watched be wrong?”
"If your mind is missing a part of a memory, it may distort it. Fill in the gaps, so to speak. Minds naturally do that all the time. It's possible that as sick as you are, it is unable to fill in those gaps and this is what it looks like.
She's uneasy. I'm uneasy.
We continue our way down the block. New York is an ugly, smelly place, and this has translated well into her memory. Still, even to the untrained eye this was, at best, a copy of the city, even excluding the piercing nature of the lights and the chaos of noise. Things hid in the shadows here, intrusive thoughts, feelings that she could not accept - though I drew attention to neither.
Another memory forms, growing from the roots up. A vast field of yellow wheat stretching out as far as the eye can see. Buzzing of insects and the humming of machinery somewhere far off. A cerulean sky spread like drop of ink in water.
“I- I don’t remember this.” Sunna corrected, “It's not in my living memory. Could this be a memory that I lost?”
I speak the word for 'yes' in her language, but I do not know.
The Memory of Sunna is next to us. She was not perturbed by the plants, nor the hot sun on her skin. In the distance appeared a woman, walking through lines of wheat to get to her.
We observe in silence for the five or so minutes it takes the woman to arrive.
She had long curly, light hair that seemed to poof up as though it defied gravity. Her skin was dark and almost tinged blue, as though it was reflecting the cloudless sky. But it was her eyes that drew us in bright with false joy. When she opens her mouth to speak, her voice matches the woman that had visited Sunna in her dream, who had come to warn her and teach her.
Sunna and I exchange a glance.
“You don’t know me, but I know you,” the woman called.
“Who are you?” Memory-Sunna asks.
“A friendly observer,” her laugh was delicate. “But I would like to offer you some advice.”
“Which is?”
“Run. Get away and never look back, don’t come back.”
“Come back where?”
“Home.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
The cloud-woman smiled, but it was only a mask over heartache. “And you won’t remember this when you wake. I can only hope that Strange will be able to extract this dream.”
“If I won’t remember, tell me your name.”
“Kuema.”
The field vanishes, giving way to the city again.
"Or I don't remember it because it was a dream and no one remembers their dreams."
"Some do." I can't help it, but I don't tell her, because Strange can ruin his life on his own. "We have a name that carries a lot of power. It must be her magic that brings your dreams to you. Sister signatures. She must get her power from the same place yours comes from."
“Is she behind all of this?”
“Perhaps, perhaps she is another pawn, much like yourself,” I ran my fingers through the tall stalks of wheat. “On the bright side, this will all be a great story for your memoirs."
She gives me a look and I feel the accompanying feeling, but I can't decipher it.
Another memory begins to form around us.
An apartment. It was small, and had too many coats of paint, but still the light switches have a spot where the grease from hands had rubbed through the unsightly beige. The apartment itself was quite messy. Clothes and takeout containers were spread across the room, the kitchen had a sink of dirty dishes and the open door leading to the bedroom framed an unmade bed and a cold cup of coffee left on the bedside table.
The most curious thing of all was that the apartment is empty. No matter the memory, Memory-Sunna had always been there. This mind is unstructured. It's unsettling.
"This is my old place," Sunna remarked. "I lived here until I moved to the Sanctum. Is there any sign of a signature?"
A wave of my hand and the room is engulfed in purple. The surprise caused her to take a step back, bumping into my chest.
She looked up at me, eyes wide and apologizes.
"It's nothing," I reply but neither of us move. I get the impression that she is too frightened to, like she can feel something I can't.
"I don't think this is real," she said. Confusion.
For a beat everything is silent.
Without warning, the apartment disappears like sand down a storm drain. Again we are plunged back into the city, but all of the fragments that had been hiding in the shadows were emitting a piercing screech. Our hands clamped over our respective ears, but it was no improvement.
"Make it stop-" but Sunna is cut off.
A monster, the color of ash burst through a building, coming straight towards us. I used the seconds before impact to shove her out of the way, but the four legged beast clipped my shoulder and sent me staggering. The creature smashed through the front window of an office and skids across the marble floor.
We run in the opposite direction.
"What the hell is that thing?" She yells over her shoulder.
"Whatever it is, it's in a bad mood." I rub my shoulder. Ouch.
There's an alleyway ahead, I push her down it, following closely behind.
The sound of breaking glass echoes behind us as the monster makes its way back outside.
"Can't you do something about it?" A squeak escaped her when the creature made its way down the too-small alley, powering through the brick like it was snow.
"It's your mind! I have limited powers here," I snap.
"Well, use your limited powers to kill it!"
"I could give it a try and just hope that you don't die when I do that."
We burst from the alley and into a forest, the smell of moss surrounding us.
The monster did not follow.
She doubles over, her hands on her knees while she catches her breath. "You said that none of this is real, so that thing can't hurt us. Right? Please tell me that's right?"
"Would you like to test you theory?" My shoulder aches. "It's real and it isn't. I'm not just trying to be enigmatic. We can definitely get hurt here."
"So if that thing dies, I might die. And if we die in here, we might die out there."
I nod sharply.
In the distance birds begin to cry. Trees are being uprooted. Something huge crushes through the flora.
Again we run, but the beast is on our tail too quickly. It roars are visceral and loud.
A tree falls, the shadow on us growing larger and larger.
I send a wave of seidr at it, throwing it backwards and onto the animal with a disturbing crunch.
Beside me, Sunna yelps in pain. I feel it. She can feel the monsters pain, so I really can't kill it.
The trees began to thin, turning into wisps of smoke.
Fire overtakes the environment.
Tumblr media
Fire rages on, and so must our protagonist . . . .
Loki+plus sized reader with saggy breasts who's self conscious, maybe fluffy smut? pretty please?
This grew longer than a mere drabble. OOPS.
Tumblr media
It had come as a surprise when Loki, THE LOKI, had expressed his interest in you.
You were a simple desk job worker at one of Stark Industries' latest innovation centres, and if not for Tony Stark's penchant for involving Loki with new projects, you wouldn't even have been introduced to him.
Somehow, Loki had made it a habit to hang out in your little office while he waited for Stark whenever he visited. He had, for some reason, also made it a habit of arriving early, even though Stark was known to be late for meetings (not his fault though, the man was extremely busy).
You hadn't minded his presence there, in fact, you thought you were lucky that he chose to stay and not wander off. The realization that you could hold the interest of this remarkable and beautiful man had been a bit of an ego boost.
You two had many intriguing discussions while he waited for Stark, and he often confessed that you had broadened his horizons pertaining to anything uniquely Midgardian.
You had also developed a hopeless crush on him in the process. Which... you had expected not to go anywhere. You simply weren't in his league, not by a long shot. Even though you had kind of accepted your plus sized body, you knew that the world hadn't. Why would Loki be any different?
But all of that changed the day Loki showed up at your desk with bouquet of flowers (your favourites) and chocolates, a nervous smile playing on his beautiful face.
You had been struck with shock... and you wondered if it was an elaborate prank. He was the god of mischief, after all.
But it hadn't been a prank...
Because here you were, several dates later, in the foyer of his penthouse, with his lips lingering on yours. Your belly was full of butterflies and your head was spinning. He had treated you to dinner and then brought you over to his place, and that could mean only one thing...
He wanted to take the next step with you.
The mere thought of it made you tremble with nerves.
"Mmmm... did I tell you that you smell absolutely delicious?" he asked, peppering kisses across your cheek as he pulled you into the living room. "Enough to eat. I've been looking forward to this evening for weeks."
Damn... that confession rendered you weak in the knees.
"Loki, you really mean that?"
"Of course. Why wouldn't I?"
You hesitated, and that's when he pulled away and gave you a look of concern.
Tumblr media
"My intent is honourable, if that's what you're thinking."
"I... I know. It's not you." You looked down, feeling terrible now. "I have issues."
"More than I?" he joked, running his hands up and down your arms. Your very thick arms...
When you didn't respond, he put a finger under your chin and tipped your face up to make you look into his gorgeous green eyes.
"What is the matter, sweet one? Did I say or do something to upset you?"
You shook your head. "I'm just... afraid."
"Of what?"
"Of intimacy."
The look of concern quickly turned into a frown. "Make me understand, please."
"Well, I honestly don't know why you're dating me. How are you even attracted to me?"
"You're asking this after weeks of our continued courtship?"
That caused the dam to burst. You couldn't keep it in.
"I'm just, I still don't understand why you chose me. All my life I've been told, directly or indirectly, that I'm dumpy and fat. Now that I'm past a certain age, I'm not even youthful. My body is simply not attractive or even pleasing to look at, especially not for someone like you."
He sighed, cupping your face. "Is that not up to me to decide? Besides, do you think that your form--which is lovely, by the way--is the only criteria one should have for courting you?"
"I've been single most of my life. What does that tell you?" you asked, your eyes growing wet as your feelings spilled over.
"That perhaps the Midgardians are a hopeless lot. Excluding you, of course."
You tried to laugh it off, even though it was hollow. "No one likes saggy boobs, Loki! Or flab."
"Once again, who are these people you're talking about? And why do you think that a naturally shaped human body is something undesirable?" he asked, pulling you closer. "For me, your company is a boon, intimacy included. We can spend hours together and not run out of things to talk about, we can simply exist in silence and not feel awkward. You've never treated me differently, nor have you been ignorant of my idiosyncrasies or even my violent past. You've accepted me fully, right? So why won't you let me love you in the same vein?"
He was holding you tight now, as though he was afraid that you'd run away from him. There was a very honest fear in his eyes, and it was enough to break you out of your own funk.
"You really mean it?"
"I'm willing to prove it to you, for as long you'll have me."
"Careful, I might decide to keep you forever," you joked, tears spilling from your eyes as you smiled. His words had been so sweet and honest, you couldn't help it.
"You think I'm averse to that?"
He gave you an earnest kiss then, asking you, silently, to let go of your inhibitions. His hands caressed you, eager and reverent all at the same time.
When he took you to his bedroom, he spent a good time kissing each bit of skin he exposed as he removed your clothes one by one. You felt terribly shy and self-conscious, but you didn't stop him this time.
He had asked you to let him show you how much he cared for you... so you were trying to give that to him, despite your discomfort with your own body.
But as he seduced you slowly with his lingering touches and kisses full of desire, your discomfort shifted... growing into arousal.
His lips spread the fire of want all over you, and you couldn't help but moan when he placed you on the bed and began to nuzzle your breasts.
No one had paid them attention like this before. No one had cared. You had always tried to hide them away in baggy clothes and full coverage bras. Years and gravity hadn't done you any favours either...
And now, Loki had exposed them. No, he had exposed them to his attentions. You had expected some sort of negative reaction from him upon seeing them, but he had only shown enthusiasm.
"Loki..." you cried out, arching your back as his lips worked on your nipples, making you feel a million sensations of pleasure all at once.
"Yes?" He lifted his head and gave you a cheeky smirk. "Is my girl sensitive here?"
You opened your mouth to say something, but nothing came out. He was making it difficult to even think straight, let alone talk. His thumb was circling over your nipple, teasing you with the feather-light touch as he watched you lust-laden eyes.
"I'm guessing that you are," he said, maintaining eye contact with you as he took your nipple in his mouth again, grazing it with his teeth as he sucked.
Your whole body shook with desire, and you couldn't look away from him, locked in his hypnotic gaze.
In that moment, you felt cherished... you felt like the most beautiful creature in the world.
And when his hand reached between your legs, you opened up to him without resistance, wanting more of his addictive touch. His fingers slipped in and wove magic inside you--the magic of orgasmic pleasure.
You didn't even realize how and when you reached your peak, so lost were you to these sensations. He simply pulled that lustful bliss from you like a musician pulled a melody from his instrument.
"Beautiful," he murmured as you caught your breath, still reeling from your orgasm. "As beautiful as I had imagined you to be. Everyday I spent with you in that little work chamber of yours, my desire for you grew tenfold. You cannot imagine just how many times I thought about taking you right on your desk, love."
Tumblr media
"Oh god, stop..." You hid your face with your hands, feeling like it would catch fire if he continued. "How can you... speak? I'm so... I can't."
He chuckled and shifted, covering your body fully with his. "You're so adorable. I want to devour you."
When he pulled your hands away from your face, you found him looking at you with both hunger and affection. It made you shiver in anticipation.
That shiver turned into a full blown tremble when he pushed forward, parting your chubby thighs with his muscled ones. Your were the opposite of him, but somehow, his hard, toned form fit perfectly against your soft, curvy form.
Your hands gripped his biceps as he thrust inside you, stretching you almost to your limit. His movements pulled gasps of surprise and moans of pleasure from you alike, but he was attentive enough not to hurt you.
Slowly, as you accepted him fully inside you, you began to move with him, your hands reaching up to his shoulders to pull him closer. You were fully into it now... no bothersome thoughts, just the pursuit of being one with him in lustful abandon.
"Loki, Loki..." you moaned his name repeatedly as he gave you deep, hard thrusts, nuzzling your breasts again. "I'm... close."
"Mmmm... me too," he hummed against the swell of your bosom, the sound vibrating right into your core. "With me, love, come with me."
You fell apart just as he began to throb inside you, further intensifying your climax. You didn't know for how long you stayed like that, clutching him like your life depended on it, simply drowning in the waves upon waves of pleasure...
Your breathing didn't come down to normal for several minutes, and when it did, Loki simply began to move inside you again. Much to your surprise, he didn't seem to have a refractory period.
When you looked at him with confused, questioning eyes, he gave you a salacious smile.
"I did say that I'll prove my desire for you," he said, his voice growing rough as he gave you a deep thrust. "I have all night for that, haven't I?"
His (2/2)
PAIRING: Loki Laufeyson x OFC (Eve Dayton)
RATING: PG
TW: Possessive Loki, Clingy Loki, Unrequited love, Jealous Loki
WORD COUNT: 1,222
SUMMARY: Loki didn’t want to bring Eve to the tower for one reason; he didn’t want the others trying to tear them apart. He finally caves knowing that Eve hates her dorm room. What Loki didn’t expect was someone else on the team falling for his girl.
Part One
Tumblr media
Loki was furious. He thought bringing Eve to the tower would be bad because the team would try to split them up, but someone falling in love with her? Unfathomable.
Loki went back to his room where Eve was taking a nap. Since she wasn’t feeling great he insisted that she eat something and go back to sleep.
When he entered the room he smiled to himself as he saw her curled up on his large bed, in his black, satin sheets, hugging his pillow while wearing his shirt.
It was about 20 minutes later when she finally woke up. She smiled at her boyfriend and motioned for him to come closer. He happily obliged.
When he got close enough she wrapped her arms around his torso and laid her head against his chest, sighing in contentment. Loki ran his hand through he hair and smiled to himself.
"How are you feeling, darling?" He quietly asked.
"I feel a little better. My stomach is still upset though." She mumbled against his chest.
He hummed in response. "Do you want to get up? Perhaps take a shower and we can go out to the kitchen and I can make you some soup. I read that midgardian's eat soup when they are feeling down."
Eve nodded but didn't move. "I love you." She whispered, hugging him a little tighter.
Loki let out a breath he didn't realize he was holding. "I love you too, my angel." He softly replied.
After some time, he helped her up since she was feeling a bit weak and got her in the shower before finding her some comfortable clothes (a pair of her favorite velvet shorts and one of his {few} t-shirts). He sat on the bed, thinking about what he had overheard.
On one hand, Barnes hasn't made a move. Hell, he's barely talked to her. But he was watching her; watching them. He was thinking about her and longing for her.
Loki knew in the back of his mind that Eve wasn't going to leave him. She genuinely does love him, and the trust she has put in him and the way she cares for him is the proof. But he couldn't help but to feel as if one day she'll actually realize what he's done and be repulsed by him.
He knows he shouldn't do anything, but he needs to make sure Barnes knows that she's his, and it's not up for debate. That's when his famous mischievous smile adorned his face. He knew exactly what to do.
***
When Eve stepped out of the bathroom in just her towel, Loki stood up and gave her a hug.
"Loki," she giggled. "I'm gonna get you all wet."
Loki laughed. "Sometimes I think you purposely say things in hopes of earning a sexual response."
This made her laugh more. She hugged him back though. With a wave of his hands he had her dressed in the clothes he earlier picked out.
"I'll never get bored of your magic." She hummed as she looked up at him. Loki gave her a warm smile and leaned down to give her a kiss.
"Did the shower help at all?" He asked, hoping her stomach uneasiness has faded.
She shrugged. "It did while I was in it, but now it's back. I think I need to eat."
Loki nodded. "To the kitchen we go." He said, picking her up bridal style.
"Loki! I can walk you know." She laughed.
He shrugged. "Perhaps I just enjoy my love needing me."
Eve smiled. "I always need you Loki. More than you'll ever realize." She said softly before kissing his cheek.
"I can say the same, my love." He smiled.
Once they reached the kitchen, he set her down on the counter and grabbed a can of chicken noodle soup. While he could have used his magic to prepare something, according to Eve whenever he did so the food tasted weird.
Since Eve was a regular mortal, Loki had become quite familiar with the typical electronics and appliances on Earth, so he had no problem pouring the soup into a pot and turning to stove on; he is a god after all.
"I forgot to ask, did you ask your teacher about your essay?" He asked as he stirred the soup.
"I did, and oh my god, Loki." She sighed. "You don't know how painful that was." She added dramatically.
He laughed. "Do tell."
As she recounted her encounter with her English professor, Steve, Sam, Bucky, Wanda, and Peter entered the kitchen since they finished training.
"And then she was rambling about how her husband had an affair with their neighbor and her kids knew. She said that literature is her therapy and, don't get me wrong, that's great, but I just wanted to know if I used a word correctly." She explained exasperatedly.
"Who was this?" Sam chimed in, leaning against the other counter.
"Oh hi guys." She smiled. "It was my English professor." A few seconds later she started coughing.
"It sounds like you might be coming down with a cold, love." Loki frowned, placing his hand on her forehead.
She sighed at the coolness of his palm. "I hope not. I have a lot to do."
After she ate the soup and drank 2 glasses of water -per Loki's request- the pair went to the common room where the others were and took their usual spot on the love seat.
Loki was now hyper aware of the fact that Bucky was basically staring at Eve like a lovesick puppy.
Loki gritted his teeth and pulled Eve onto his lap, so her back was against the arm of the seat.
"What was that for?" She asked quietly, running her hand through his hair.
He smirked, knowing that Bucky had enhanced hearing and could hear everything they were saying. "I just enjoy having you close."
She let out a small chuckle. "We were close before."
"Perhaps I just want everyone here to know you're mine."
Loki swore he heard a gasp from Bucky, but he didn't even spare him a look.
Eve smiled. "I think everyone knows I'm yours."
Loki smirked again. "I don't think everyone knows, but I have no issue in showing them."
Eve laughed. "Well I can confirm I am all yours. Wouldn't want it any other way."
Loki's smirk faded into a soft frown. "So you wouldn't leave me for someone else? Someone who is a good guy?"
Eve furrowed her eyebrows. "Loki, I'm not gonna leave you. I don't care who it is, you're the only one I have eyes for. And you are a good guy. You've done questionable things, but you've had your reasons. I love you and that includes your past. Just like you love me with my past."
Loki sighed and leaned his forehead against hers. "What did I do to deserve you?"
Eve laughed. "You saved me from those jerks at school."
Loki let out a soft chuckle and leaned in to give her a soft kiss. When they turned their attention to the tv, Loki took a glance at Bucky and saw his fists clenched. He let a satisfied smirk adorn his face and pulled Eve tighter against his chest.
"I love you." She whispered.
Loki smiled. "I love you too."
Day 3 of my drabble harassment 😂😂 ...
Tumblr media
I've woken up, and I'm really not well 😣 and it made me wonder ... what it would be like with Loki, or maybe even Ransom, trying to take care of you and make you feel better. You just know it wont go smoothly, because of who they are 😂🤦‍♀️
TY💋
I chose Loki because I haven't written for him yet and this seemed like a good chance to do that. It took a teensy bit of a turn from your request, but I hope this makes your day just a bit better. I adore you, babes. Thank you for harassing me with plot bunnies. ❤❤
Pairing: Loki x Reader
Warnings: foul moods, a bit of lashing out, Loki fluff (yes that’s a warning)
Word Count: 1.2k (i seem to fail at grasping the concept of a drabble)
“Good morning, my darling. Are you ready to go?”
Loki burst into your room with his usual flourish. A prince never needs to knock, he simply enters. You were already used to him just barging into your room. Honestly you were just glad he’s started using the door instead of just materializing wherever and whenever he wanted after you fell on your ass in the bathroom that one time he decided it was a good idea to surprise his girlfriend when you had shampoo in your eyes.
“Go away,” you grumbled from beneath your covers, pulling them in closer.
He raised an eyebrow at you and sat on the edge of your bed, gingerly peeling the blanket away from your face. You were scowling at him. Deeply angry and practically huffing that he recoiled in shock. Bravely he cupped your cheek with his hand though keeping himself poised to jump away should you choose to bite him.
You looked like you would bite him.
“Have I upset you, pet?” he asked carefully. You weren’t normally this way and he had no clue why you were suddenly in such distress. Your eyes looked tired beneath the anger and your skin didn’t have it’s usual glow. More than that you didn’t have that smile on your face that made him fall in love with you in the first place. A smile that he promised he would always make sure was on your face.
“Everything upsets me right now.”
You ripped the blanket from him and pulled it over your head, fortifying yourself again under the soft material. Loki raised his hand to pull it back down, but he stopped as he heard you whining about your discontent. Sighing heavily, he left you alone.
The minute you heard your door shut, you felt the regret and the guilt consume you. It was wrong that you took out your foul mood on Loki. You were being difficult and he didn’t understand. Your mood worsened and you wanted to call him back, but the shame at your earlier behavior held you back.
You didn’t realize that you had fallen asleep until the sound of someone entering your room roused you. You peaked out of your hiding spot with bleary eyes to find Loki carrying multiple boxes and bags, taking out item after item and laying them near you. Pretty soon most of the bed and your night stand were covered with a variety of items.
“What is all this, Loki?”
He smiled at you indulgently as he sat on the free space next to you, sitting up against the headboard with a tub of ice cream and a spoon in his hand. He brushed your unruly hair away from your face and stared at you as if you were still the most beautiful creature he’s seen in all the realms despite your current state.
“Well, pet, I know not what ails you and I won’t force you to tell me until you're ready,” he said as he playfully pinched your cheek. “Until then I will have to guess what will lift your turbulent Midgardian spirits so I have consulted the only reliable entity in this godforsaken Compound.”
“Wanda?” you guessed.
“FRIDAY.”
You couldn’t help it. You laughed. Snorted and laughed was more like it. It was just so ridiculous yet very accurate that the AI was in fact the only one you could rely on to get a straight answer around here. You shook your head as his smile grew, pleased that he seemed to already be making headway. You were always the one making him happy when he felt less. It felt rewarding for him to be returning the favor now.
“I have an array of items with hopes that at least one of them will appease you. We shall begin with ice cream,” he said, presenting the pint in his hand to you.
“Did Friday tell you my favorite flavor too?” you said as you moved to sit up. You turned the container and confirmed that it was in fact your favorite flavor and from your favorite brand too.
“You wound me, darling,” he scoffed, stealing the spoon from you and feeding you the first bite before taking another for himself. “I know your favorite flavor because it’s the only one you order at every opportunity.”
He pointed to the bottle of medication on the table. “I recall the brand of pain medication you prefer because I’ve had to take you to the infirmary plenty of times after a mission. You said it was the only one that didn’t make you feel like and I quote ‘injected with horse tranquilizer and made to run a marathon naked.’ I can’t say I understand how that would feel but I assumed it would be bad.”
You practically choked on the ice cream as you laughed. You couldn’t believe that he remembered all that. He next pointed at the colorful boxes on the bed.
“Pastries and sweets from your favorite bakery,” he said proudly. “And before you ask, yes I did ask them to remove the toppings you don’t like. I noticed that you pick them out whenever you get them.”
He gestured to the books next. “I got some of your favorite books. I understand you may be too ill to read them yourself but I would be happy to read them out loud to you if you wish.”
“Loki,” you said, lip trembling at the incredibly touching gesture when you had been so harsh with him this morning.
He pulled you closer to him, slotting you perfectly at his side and raising your face for your eyes to meet. He stared down at you with such adoration and you knew that even as the apology was on the tip of your lips, for him there was nothing to forgive.
“I know these things about you because I pay attention,” he kissed the tip of your nose. “I know you, my darling.”
He dipped his head low then, catching your lips with his in a kiss that was equal parts comfort and desire. He loved you. All of you. In every state you were in. Just the same way you did. Today’s dark shadow was pushed aside, forgotten and deemed insignificant.
As usual with you both, your kisses turned heated with your tongues dancing and teeth nibbling playfully. Your hands roamed across bodies you were all too familiar with and soon he was laying on top of you, grinning at each other.
“Was this all that you needed to cheer you up, my love?” he chuckled. You bit your lip and nodded shyly up at him. “Well it is fortunate that I prepared for that as well.”
His hand reached somewhere out of your sight and your eyes widened as you heard a faint buzzing sound. Your mouth gaped at him, unable to find the words even if you had a fairly accurate idea on what it was. His smile to you was devilish as the buzzing got louder in your ears, the object being brought closer to you.
“I have my quarrels with the man but even I have to admit that Stark’s tech can be quite helpful and thorough.”
How Far Is Too Far? (Loki x Protective!Reader)
Tumblr media
Summary: After moving into the Avengers compound, reader had adjusted to the joking tones of their fellow members. When Loki moves into the building, the teasing from Tony strikes a nerve with the reader.
Word Count: 2059 Words
After living in the Avengers compound since the New York attack, you've watched your teammates insult each other jokingly. Steve would throw jabs at Natasha and Bucky during workouts, Sam would join in and get dragged into a big, playful tussle. Even though you sat on the sidelines with Wanda, you still enjoyed watching them pick on each other. You could easily say you have adjusted to each team members tone to identify when they were messing around.
When Thor brought his mischievous brother to live amongst you all, the humor laced tones diminished into bitterness whenever he was present. Tony seemed to be the only one who would acknowledge his presence with crude words while the others gave each other knowing looks. You lost track of how many insults that man could throw at Loki throughout the day. You were beginning to think that was all Tony could do to keep himself entertained. While you weren't entirely sure, whenever a harsh jab got spouted in the god's direction, a flicker of hurt crossed his eyes before they returned to their cold appearance. This, of course, worried you since Loki was apart of the team now and deserved the same respect everyone else got. Everyone had warmed up to the idea of him being there after he had proved himself worthy in combat, but Tony was still on the fence.
After returning from a mission, you'd stumbled upon Tony in his workshop talking to himself as he tweaked his suit. If no one else was going to confront Tony about his snide comments, you were. You had seen a completely different side to Loki today when retrieving information. It was almost like he started to trust you guys and they trusted him. Taking a deep breath, you slowly pushed up the workshop door and waited for Tony to acknowledge your presence. When he finally looked up, he gave you a pleased smile before returning to working on his suit.
"Hey kid, how'd the mission go?" Tony grunted as he reached deep into the suit to grab a tool he'd dropped.
"It went very well. I think Loki's actually starting to trust us." Responding with a hopeful voice, you turned to look for a seat just in case this conversation got lengthy. Tony's face appeared above the suit, eyebrows furrowed at your statement.
"Listen, Y/N. Don't go relying on Mr. Freeze. He trusts no one, but himself." He pointed his wrench at you as if he was scolding you with his finger before turning to find the tool he really needed. A tense silence brushed over you at his words, the only sound being Tony's tools clanging together kept your focus. Briskly standing up, you pushed in your seat. If he was to play that card, let him. I'm not going to stand for it.
"Tony, you seem to be the only asshole here that believes that. I don't understand why you can't just accept that Loki is here to change, not create conflict." You looked at the man across from you, who was clearly taken aback. The silence motivated you to go on.
"The amount of times that man as saved your ass, Stark. You owe him a bit of courtesy as he holds a position on this damn team. How far is too far?" Feeling anger bubbling throughout your body, you reached out and shoved your palm against the counter next to you, taking deep breaths. Out of the corner of your eye, you saw Tony nodding in agreement, going to open his mouth to respond when someone cut him off.
"And I don't need a pitiful excuse of a Midgardian to stick up for me. Maybe you should keep your nose out of other people's businesses." Loki's cold, irritated voice rang out from behind the both of you. Tony only looked at you ask you turned around to face the God of Mischief. You felt the anger dissipate as your fiery determination left your eyes. Loki's cold demeanor seemed to of softened as he realized that he had hurt you. Regretting his words, he tried to muster up the courage to reach out to you, but you backed away from him. Diverting your eyes, you straightened up your posture and nodded in response to his words.
"That's fine by me." You gritted your teeth as you rushed out there, bumping into the god's shoulder as you rushed out of there as quickly as possible. You didn't mean to of upset Loki by any means, you were just tired of Tony walking all over him like he was a rug that no one liked. Once out into the corridor, tears seemed to brim your eyes as you briskly walked to your room, picking up pace every second you could. When you reached the floor you ironically shared with Loki, you almost collapsed in the living room. Any other time, those words would've never fazed you. Hell, they would've make you smirk in response to his cruel statement. But this time? This time it was different. It didn't take you long to realize you had developed feelings for the god, but you were afraid to reveal them. What if he judged you for falling for him? Gathering your emotions, you stumble up the stairs to your room. The quicker you could get up to your room, the less of a risk of Loki coming up and seeing you.
"God, why does this hurt so much?" Your strained voice cracked as your back hit your door, sliding quickly down it. Quite sobs racked your body as the tears just kept pouring down your face and your body curled up into an upright fatal position. Your self-loathing thoughts swam around your head faster than you could get the chance to process them as you rocked yourself. The thoughts soon laced themselves together, making you fall into a mindless fog. You tried to stop sobbing, trying to regain control over your breathing as tears slowly made their way down your flushed cheeks. Your ragged breaths seem to drown out the sudden knock at your door. After a couple minutes, the door suddenly swung outward, reminding you that you still had to convince Clint to come fix your door. Your body fell back onto the floor against someone's shoes. Realizing you didn't lock your door, you looked up into the soft, concerned eyes of the guy you were just trying to defend. Sniffling, your hands shot up and pressed against your tear streaked cheeks, quickly wiping your face so tears weren't present. After a couple seconds, you scrambled to your feet, quickly walking into your room to avoid any violent confrontation with him.
Blowing your nose, you heard your door close. Thank the Gods, I'm alone now. You thought as you sighed raggedly before turning around into the firm chest of Loki. The sudden impact didn't make him budge, but it made you try to back away to give him space. Instead he gently grabbed you and pulled you back in, wrapping his arms tightly around your frame. You tensed at the sudden contact, frozen in place. Loki's hands started rubbing circles on your midsection, hoping it would ease you into the hug. Minutes passed before you finally relented and tightly wrapped your arms around his torso as if your life depended on it. The movement caused a low chuckle to emit from the man holding you, the sound's rumble against you caused you to shiver. Comfortable silence fell upon you two as you both embraced each other.
"So," Loki's now soft and sincere sounding broke the silence. "Why are you in here crying?" He asked, but you knew he already had a good idea of why you were in here crying. He just needed clarification. Do I really want to give him that? You questioned yourself as you swallowed the lump in your throat.
"None of your business, Frosty" you muttered, adding the nickname to try to lighten the mood as you shoved your face into his chest. A disappointed sigh escaped his lips as he pried you away from his body, far enough for him to try to look you in the eye. Except you just looked away from him, not wanting to make him uncomfortable. He watched your eyes flicker to different objects lying in your room as you tried to find something to focus on.
"Y/N" He spoke, expecting you to respond with a glance.
"Love?"
"Darling?"
"Sweetheart?" He stopped, trying to think of a nickname that would bring you to look at him.
"Angel?" Loki tried to lace the name with as much love and care as he could, move his head to try to meet your eyes. Even though the room was dark, he was able to subtly see your flushed cheeks grow red at the nickname as your eyes slowly met his. Giving a small, victorious smile, he decided to go on.
"It's my business if you're crying because of me." He stated, making it clear that it wasn't up for debate. You nervously took your bottom lip into your mouth, chewing on it as you thought about what you wanted to say to him. His eyes pierced right through you, expecting an answer. Sighing, you threw yourself  down onto your bed, shoving your face into your hands, rubbing them down it before resting your chin on your palms.
"I just...got tired of seeing Tony insult you like that. I've watched your expression long enough to know that his words hurt you, and I thought I could get through to him. I didn't mean to overstep my boundaries." You paused as he sat down beside you, scooting over so your knees were touching.
"Loki, I care about you. Hell, I'd do anything to prevent any pain that comes to you. I lo-I like you too much. I'm sorry." You looked up at his face that held no expression, hoping he didn't catch your slip. When he didn't respond for a couple minutes, you diverted your eyes to the ground. You examined a piece of paper you must've dropped. Sighing, you dropped your hands and went to to grab the paper off the ground. An icy hand reached up and grabbed your wrist, causing you to quickly look back to Loki. Meeting his eyes, a ghost of a smile played on his lips as mischief filled his eyes. Narrowing your eyes, you went to pull away as he pulled you towards him, adjusting so he was laying backwards. He pulled you on top of him, smiling up at you.
"I.. appreciate that you love me enough to stand up for me. It's really touching." You felt your cheeks heat up again at his words, frowning at the fact he caught your slip. He noticed the frown and moved a piece of hair behind your ear. You looked him directly in the eye, breath hitching as the gesture got very intimate for you.
"And I would do the same for you. Not because I'm your teammate, but because I can't lose you. For Norns sake, not you. I've lost so many people I care for. I love and care you too much. I can't even put what I feel for you into words, Angel." Loki sighed, closing his eyes as he tried to put together more words for you. He opened his eyes just to watch you, but you quickly brought his lips to yours, hoping the emotions you felt towards him transferred via the kiss. They must've as you felt him smile widely into the kiss, moving his hands to the back of your neck to pull you closer. After several minutes, you had to pull back for air, watching Loki's eyes flutter open. He smiled at you, running his hands through your hair.
"So, I guess the feelings mutual, huh?" You joked, grinning at Loki. Growling, he rolled you over and pinned you, leaning in to capture you into another kiss.
"I guess that also means you're mine" Loki stated as he pulled away from the kiss, voice laced with lust and possession. You laughed at the sudden possessiveness. Loki growled and quickly fucked his head against your throat, nipping your neck gently with his teeth. Breathing in sharply, you entangled your hands in his dark, silky hair.
"I guess so~"
This one is a little bit Marvel Loki, and a little bit Norse mythology Loki 🖤
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
“There. Are you happy now?" I set the cup of coffee on my altar and huffed. I knew I would get no response, but still rolled my eyes and finished getting ready for bed. My patron deity, the Norse God of Mischief, had been rather quiet the past few days. I wasn’t sure why he was upset, but I also wasn’t holding my breath that a god would talk to me about his problems.
As I flicked off the table lamp, my room became even darker than what I was used to. Before my eyes could adjust, I felt weight at the foot of the bed and someone crawling towards me. Having seen way too many horror movies, I immediately started kicking and punching. I went to scream, but a hand flew up over my mouth as another went to my throat.
“I'm happy now that I have your attention.” My eyes went wide as I stopped flailing and was met with emerald orbs. “Please don't attack me again. I'd rather not get blood on my new attire so soon.” He removed his hands and lowered himself to lay on top of me, his head on my chest near my heart.
It took a few moments for me to realize who he was.
“Loki!” I exclaimed quietly, not wanting to wake my roommate across the hall. He mumbled as he wrapped his arms around me, oblivious to my confusion. “Why are you here??”
He shifted to look up at me. “You gave me an offering, did you not?"
“I did.”
“And you asked me a question. That I gave you an answer to.” Our eyes locked and I tried to decipher what emotions were behind his.
“Yes,” I laid one hand on his back and the other in his hair. “But why did you come to me? People all over the world worship you.”
He dropped his head again and exhaled, relaxing. “You treat me as a friend. Yes, I am a god, but you’re one of the very few who genuinely ask about my well-being.” He tenderly nuzzled in to me and my face flushed.
“Because you are my friend. Or, at least, I consider you to be.” I gently began to rub his back and felt him tense slightly. “I’m sorry.” I jerked my hands away from him, afraid I’d upset him.
“No, please continue.” As I put my hands back, I noticed he was still strained. But after a few moments of contact, he began to breathe easier. My head was still swimming with questions, but I was more concerned about my god’s comfort.
“Do you need anything to drink? Or eat?” He grunted softly and shook his head enough for me to tell his answer was ‘no.’
“The coffee was enough, thank you. I know you have questions. You may ask whatever you’d like.” His breath against my skin made me shiver slightly and I hoped he hadn’t noticed.
“I just want to make sure you’re okay.” Internally, I smacked myself in the head. He was also the god of lies, of course he’d know a blatant one.
He chuckled softly. “Yes, I’m well aware you’re lying. But I will not pry if you do not wish to tell me.” He inhaled slowly. “I have too much respect for you to do that.”
I raised an eyebrow at the last statement. “I’d still like to know the real reason why you came to me. I refuse to believe it’s just because I consider you my friend.” There was silence for a few moments before he slowly sat up, hands on either side of my head. I let my hands trail down his arms to his wrists, still not convinced this wasn’t a hallucination that would attack me.
“You are different. You’re not like any other Midgardian I’ve ever encountered.” He furrowed his brow as he stared intently in to my eyes, causing my gaze to waiver. “You are supposed to come to your gods when you need help, or to give thanks. You regularly do that- as well as ask if there is anything we need.” There was a moment of hesitation. “And you always pay special attention to me. Why is that?”
I had five patron deities- all of whom knew they were not the only one. Though Loki was correct. I did always take special care of him. I stared back up at him and was surprised to find him eyeing me curiously.
“I know what you’ve been through.” I chose my words carefully. “I’ve followed the Avengers since day one and my cousin dated your brother.” He scowled at the mention of Thor. “I’m not saying I know exactly what it’s like.” I spoke quickly, afraid I messed up. “But I’ve heard the stories and-”
His lips crashed in to mine and I gasped softly, wide-eyed. After a few moments, he started to pull away, but I threw my arms around his neck and pulled him back in. I could feel him smile against my lips as his arms went around my body again. It was a much softer kiss than I would expect from the god of mischief, but I didn’t complain. He held me tightly, though, protectively. Once we separated, he rested his forehead against mine with his eyes closed.
“You have never once been afraid of me. Never once asked for something without offering an equal exchange.” He whispered as if speaking too loud would break me. “After everything that’s happened, you’ve always treated me…like a person.”
“Of course I have, Loki.” I rubbed his back gently and this time, he didn’t tense up. “You are a god, but you’re still a living being.”
“Perhaps,” he hesitated again. “Perhaps I could be more than just your friend?” He opened his eyes and they were shining with infatuation. I smiled lovingly and kissed his nose.
“If the gods are alright with one of their own dating a mortal.” I couldn’t help but giggle at the grin that overtook his cheeks.
“Oh, darling. Humans fall in love with gods everyday. But for a god to fall in love with a human? You will be worshipped for eternity.”
Summary: It's hard to find the one, but even when you do find him it's always going to be a daily struggle to make it work. Can you even make it work after he broke your heart? The answer to that is complicated, but it all started when you found each other again in the Stark tower- and that's where our story begins.
It's been a while since you felt this way.
Even back then, it was rare that you woke up before him, but you always relished it. You could feel all of him, the comforting weight of him almost lulled you back to sleep. With his chest pressed against your back, and arm curled around you, it felt as if he was enveloping all of you. You didn't mind that. It was weird how easily you fell back into old patterns, but how could you not? The only time you ever felt this good was with him, you never knew this kind of thing exists before him, and you never saw it again after him. But here it was again.
You couldn't bring yourself to care that it won't last, not with the way he felt next to you.
Certainly not with the small feather like kisses you now felt being pressed against your neck, spreading goose bumps in their wake.
"What's on your mind, love?" you loved hearing his voice in the morning.
"Do you think it'll all be worth it?"
"We will find out with time." He made you believe that, he knew the effect he had on you.
He felt colder against you than you remembered, he was different.
"They won't like this, you know."
"Since when do you care about what other people think?" he lifted himself onto an elbow to look at you.
You were different too.
"I have a family now. So many things have changed, Loki." His hair was softer now, you smiled as you racked your fingers through his messy hair, it was your fault after all. "You changed too."
A lot has happened after he left you, he was grateful that he decided to leave you, it was the right thing to do even if it hurt you.
"I did, I suppose."
"I mean, after you- you left it was a good few years and then I saw you on TV in the battle of New York, and next thing I know you are here in the tower with me."
"Yes, a lot has happened." He dosed off in thought.
"What?"
"Nothing, darling, we should get up." He met your lips in a short kiss, smiling down at you.
"Fine, let's go." You grabbed the sheets and pulled it against you, searching for your clothes. You pulled yourself up from the bed when you didn't see find your shirt which you changed to last night, at least that was before your second round. "Hey Loki did you see my-"
Turning around he looked at you with a smirk, already dressed in new clothes. You totally forgot about his magic, he always did it.
"Panties? They are right here, but I'm afraid they are quite ruined." You wished you could wipe that smirk off his face.
"I was looking for my shirt, you asshole." He just held up his other hand and you grabbed your shirt, turning to go to your closet.
You missed him so much.
"Then you have to fold it again- no Loki," you giggled when you watched him try to copy your movements on this lazy afternoon you shared with him. "Fold it to the other side, the airplane needs to be identical on both sides so it could fly." Loki glared at you and you tried and failed to stop your giggles. But when you weren't looking at him, he couldn't help but smile at you.
"I don't know why you call this paper thing an airplane, it doesn't look like those machines you showed me pictures of." He looked at your perfectly crafted paper and scoffed when he saw his.
"Because these paper airplanes can fly, look" you waited for him to finish his one before throwing yours. He watched your proud expression when it flew around for a couple of seconds before it fell on the floor and you went to fetch it. "Try to do it with yours."
Loki concentrated with furrowed eyebrows as he copied your movements and watched as his work flew for a second before it crash landed on your couch.
"That was great!"
"That was pathetic!"
"We can try again." You fixed his airplane and gave it to him.
"Or, we can do this my way." He smiled at you mischievously and told you to throw it at three."
"One, two, three!" when you released your plane, your watched in wonder as Loki worked his magic on it. Your two paper airplanes were flying throughout the living room together. You caught him staring at you when you looked back at him. Smiling, you leaned over the table to connect his lips to yours in a short kiss. "Isn't my way much better?"
You wanted to wipe that stupid smirk off of his face, so you brought him in for another kiss as the paper airplanes kept flying around the room.
"You can tell yourself whatever you want Tony, you are not a good cook." you coughed at the smoke that filled up the kitchen. Natasha was fanning herself with a towel.
"Well at least I am trying to cook! I was going to make something nice for our Asgardian guests." You almost laughed at him pointing a pan at Natasha with an apron on, but that comment died on your throat. "Where did you disappear to last night?"
"What?" you stood next to the open window, getting some fresh air.
"One minute you were with me and the next you walked away and disappeared. Wait-" she paused and tilted her head. "Did you go home with someone?"
Sam whistled from the door.
"Y/N go get some!" he raised a hand to high five you but you only glared at him.
"I got tired of the party, so what if I did?"
"That guy from IT who has a crush on you will be very disappointed."
"Who the hell has a crush on me?" with the smoke out you finally got your eggs and toast for breakfast, snatching the one that wasn't burnt.
"Mike? You know that guy who was talking to you last night?"
"What? No way, he was just making conversation and he was talking to you too." You scrunched your nose.
"Are you doubting my spy skills?"
"Yep, but either way it's not my fault if he's upset it's his problem." You shrugged, biting into your food.
"So you actually were with a guy." You looked up mid bite.
"You bitch."
"Language, the captain is here."
"What's going on?"
"Nothing, Steve."
"Y/N met a guy."
"You what now?" he crossed his arms and looked at you. "Who is he?"
"No one, can we just move on? We have a briefing soon with the asgardians you're making so-called food for, so just eat up and shut up."
Natasha only shrugged at Steve's raised eyebrow.
"Brother, where did you go to last night? I found Tony but I couldn't find you after we split up." Thor spoke to his brother as they walked through the corridors of the Avengers Tower.
"I went to the lab, parties are not my thing, neither are your midgardian friends." Thor shook his head.
"They are really nice Loki, especially Y/N." Loki faltered in his step at her mention. It did not go unnoticed by Thor.
"Why are you so insisted on talking about her? I told you already that we are not-"
"Loki, despite everything that happened I still know you, just a little bit." He put a hand on Loki's shoulder, stopping in the middle of the hall. "I just want to tell you to be careful with her. Her friends here, and especially Steve- he will not react to it well."
"So I should just bow down to that?" Loki looked up at Thor, anger flashed in his eyes.
Shrugging Thor's hand off, he went into the room where the avenger's were sitting around a table. In the front stood Tony, waiting for the two asgardians to arrive, while he snacked.
And then Loki saw you, you sat right at the head of the table just across from him, catching his eye and then looking down when you started to feel your face heat up. Wanda smiled slightly beside you.
"Okay, now that we are all here, tell them what you started telling me yesterday. Thanks for not showing up Horny head, Thor couldn't tell me everything without you."
Thor chuckled and held Loki back.
"There were weapons that were stolen from the Asgard royal vaults. We still don't know how they managed to get to Asgard or even get into the vaults in the palace. Loki knows more about what was stolen, go ahead brother."
"Very well, the weapons that were stolen are very ancient and very dangerous. One of them is Laevateinn, my old wand-"
"You had a wand?" Pietro laughed from the corner, you kept your wide eyes on Loki. He told you about it several times and this wasn't good.
"What else was stolen?" you leaned forward now, but Loki had a hard time meeting your gaze as he looked back at Thor as if they had a silent conversation. "Loki?"
Steve turned his head to you, surprised at your tone. He was even more surprised when Loki met your eyes and kept them on you as he obeyed your request.
"It's called the Skofnung."
It has been an hour, and it was safe to say that everyone in the room was on their toes, tense.
"You said you kept an enchantment on it! You said you hid it, how the hell did they get to your wand?" you were standing up, yelling at Loki in frustration.
"I did do that! But after I was away for a long time, the spell around it weakened and my stupid father thought it would be safer to put it in the vaults alongside all the other things!" he countered back.
"Hey Loki, do not talk about our father like that."
"Oh come on Thor, he is stupid don't deny it." You were so frustrated that you didn't even care anymore, you could feel Steve's gaze burning into your skin as he stood beside you.
"And how would you know that?" he asked you then, and before you could think you replied on instinct.
"Because he always treated Loki like a-" you realized your mistake when you saw a shift in his eyes, and the room went quiet as the spies and geniuses caught on.
You hated that between all the anger in his eyes, you saw betrayal there too.
Loki leaned against the wall and watched the scene in front of him unraveling.
"So, it's him? Is that why you weren't telling us anything?" Steve got angrier by the second and you didn't dare look around to see the others' responses. "You two were-"
"Okay, Steve calm down now." You were thankful for Wanda but Steve only shot her down.
"No, I want to hear what she has to say. Did you lie to us about anything else?"
"I didn't lie to you Steve! I was just trying to-"
"No but you did lie to me, you are involved with the psychotic guy who terrorized earth!" he pointed to Loki then, but you knew that if you looked at Loki you'll break down.
"Steve, maybe we should slow down from the accusations." Sam put a hand on his shoulder but he didn't let down.
"Yes, Steve I was with him, and I didn't tell you because I was scared of this exact reaction! This is what I tried to prevent!"
Loki was ready to fight the captain for making you feel this way.
"You can't be with him Y/N! He is not good for you! You don't know all of the things that he did!"
"Captain, if you have any anger let it out on me, not her." Loki spoke up and walked forward in the room.
"Oh I assure you, I will." He sent daggers at Loki before looking back at you, at this point your eyes were teary. "Y/N you will stay away from him."
"Enough!" your eyes flashed at him and the room glowed in purple before it all went quiet. Wanda looked at her friends' dazed eyes and she was about to go to you when Bucky beat her do it.
"Doll, you can't keep him like this forever, he will still fight. We both know that." He and Wanda moved through their friends to get to you as you went to the door.
"Darling what did you do?" he stopped you when you grabbed him to go away.
"I just needed it to stop." You turned to Bucky and Wanda. "They are fine, I just sent them to calm down, it'll wear off once I'm up in my room. Please just calm them down, I can't bear him being mad at me."
They nodded at you. After that you grabbed Loki and left to go up to your room. It was silent.
"You shouldn't have done that." Loki looked down at you with concern.
"He didn't stop. Do you see now why I didn't want them to know?" you crossed your arms, but your demeanor soon fell and he was ready for you when you rested your head on his chest.
"I understand. I didn't realize you were that close."
"They are my family Loki, I may didn't have one when we were together but now I do," you looked up at him. "And I care about them."
Loki locked the door to your room in a green flash when you went inside.
"Come lie with me?"
"It's midday my darling." You only hummed in response and got on the bed. With the begging look you gave him he had to oblige.
Getting in the bed, you laid your head on his chest and he traced invisible patterns on your exposed skin. His other hand playing with your hair, he couldn't help but drift off into his memories.
"Do you want me to go punch him? You know I would." He kept silent and just took your hand until you got on the bed with him. "Or maybe I could go your style and stab him. Lightly."
"I just want to forget about that." You nodded and laid back. You let him lay his head on your chest. You wrapped your arms around him, as if you could protect him from the world. "He is my dad too, I don't understand why he always listens to Thor and not me."
"As I said, I'd gladly punch him for you. I don't care if he is a king."
"Thor's coronation will arrive soon enough. I don't think he'll ever realize that I could be king too." You had to hold back your anger at his so called family, you had to hold it back because now all he needed was a warm place, which he always found with you. He stayed quiet, playing gently with the necklace hanging from your neck, which he gave you all those months ago.
If he could, he'd stay here with you until the end of eternity. He would stay home.
"Rest now, my love, I'll be here when you wake up."
You woke up to Loki. He turned his head to you and gave you a light kiss to the crown of your head.
"How long was I asleep?" you stretched a bit before falling back onto Loki.
He was still here.
"About an hour, do you want me to get you some food?"
"No." you shook your head at him, he was scared of the glint in your eye. "I'll go get it myself."
"Darling, do not ignite this fire for nothing." He knew it was futile, once you set your mind on something there was nothing to do.
"I don't care, they'll deal with it. I need you now. I tried to do it quietly but they just won't listen so I'm just going to do it like you would. A big 'fuck you' to them."
"Maybe consider at least-"
"We both know I am stubborn, so you are going to come with me and we are going to get food." He remembered you being feisty but not to this level, you grabbed his arm and walked out of the door.
It could be over a week from now, but right now you just needed him with you, and they needed to realize that.
"Well then, let's do this properly." Loki smirked when he stopped you, and you matched him when he put his arms around you, and in the next second you were just outside of the kitchen.
The Avengers in the living room stilled at your sudden appearance. Steve was nowhere in sight, neither was Bucky.
"I'm going to get us food, stay here." You gave him a playful peck on the lips and went to the kitchen.
Natasha joined you a moment after.
"What are you doing?" she leaned on the wall when you pulled out some leftover pizza.
"Heating up some pizza, do you want some?"
"You know that's not what I asked," you turned your back to her, walking to the microwave. "Why him? He is not-"
"How would you know if he is not right for me? You don't know me, or him." You turned back to her, furious. You were surprised to see the momentary offended look in her eyes.
"Do you know him? He changed. There are things that you don't know, that we do."
"I know him better than all of you, even better than Thor. I know enough about him to know who he is and who he is not." Scoffing, you got out the slices of pizza.
"It's been a while since you saw him last, and by the looks of it he hurt you pretty badly, a lot has changed for both him and you."
"Do you really think I don't know that?"
"I'm just saying, Y/N, how do you know he won't hurt you again?" you took the plates to the table.
"I don't."
"I'm just looking out for you. So does he."
She didn't have to specify, you had no clue what you were going to do with him.
"You are practically a mini Steve at times, always so stubborn." She left you at that.
Loki was outside of the kitchen, just around the corner in the common room he stood with a sly smirk when some of the Avengers were in edge when he sat.
He decided to use the opportunity to study them, when one caught his eye. The scarlet witch. He hadn't met her before, yet she seemed to have a certain connection to you, she was unaffected by the commotion earlier that day.
She returned his gaze and he was suddenly affected by a weird daze. She was in his mind.
Raising a brow at her, he let her try to find something, he was stronger. He felt something crack in his mind and he could see it clear as day.
Thor and his friends were talking in the bar, drinking as usual, when he felt an urge to go back to your arms, longing to just sit with you and watch one of those silly shows you love so much.
He quickly excused himself and as fast as he could, he evaded all the eyes so he could get to Midgard the fastest.
He stood in the middle of your living room, not wanting to scare you (again). It took him a second to get his bearing when he realized the scene in front of him. Two men in dark outfits were there, when they turned he knew they were no ordinary men. And they were clearly not wanted here.
On instinct and fear he pulled out two daggers and stabbed them both in the necks before they could retaliate. When he was sure they were down, he sent them somewhere far away. His eyes frantically looked around for you. Only then when it was silent he could hear your short breaths and whimpers.
"Y/N? My love?" he went towards the bathroom which was locked, not missing a beat he got inside and saw you crying and scared on the corner, holding a hair straightener as a weapon.
"Loki?" you lowered the weapon and Loki crouched down beside you, taking your shaking body in his arms.
"Oh my love, I'm here. Don't worry, I'm here." He held you close as you let out sobs until you calmed down and your breathing went back to normal.
"I heard voices and I hid here but I didn't have my phone with me, I forgot it. They would've found me and I couldn't call for anyone, Loki." He only hushed down your panicked voice.
"I promise no harm will ever come to you when you have me, I'll always be here." He picked you up and took you to bed, spreading endless kisses all over your face.
You were curled on top of him until you fell asleep safe and sound. Once Loki was sure you were sleeping, he started chanting. He was going to make sure you were protected when he wasn't around. He put up wards around your apartment with the oldest and strongest spell he knew. By the end of it he was tired, but it was all worth it for you. Anything was worth it.
He had never felt such fear.
It was hard to keep his strong demeanor up after the triggered memory. Looking at the witch all he saw was a surprised look, he had clearly underestimated her abilities. It won't happen again.
He heard your footsteps and was eager to get out and away from the witch when the elevator doors opened and there the Captain stood, alongside the Sergeant and the Falcon.
The blue eyes were trained on him. Then they moved to a figure behind him.
The falcon put a hand on his shoulder. Steve let out a chuckle when Loki went up and stood next to you.
"The literal cold blooded killer? Are you sure about your choice here, kid?" his jaw was set, but his eyes showed more.
"He's here to help you. And yes." You took Loki's hand and kept contact with Steve.
You barely heard Bucky mutter under his breath.
"Aren't everyone in this room killers, Captain?" Loki challenged.
"Some of us have an actual reason, not an excuse." He countered.
"Steve, maybe we should let it go for now" Bucky whispered to Steve and the two of you walked back to the kitchen for your ready meal. Said meal being pizza.
"An excuse," you scoffed. "You did something bad yes, but you're not making excuses for it, you don't have an excuse for it you are just redeeming yourself and getting better. You are just setting things right."
You whispered the last part, but it didn't matter because you drifted off into your head, not noticing Loki's quiet demeanor.
That night, Loki lay with you in your bed wide awake as you drifted asleep next to him.
The events of the day stuck to him, the memory lingered in his mind as if it happened just mere hours ago, the strike of fear. He did not think about that day often, but he knew exactly where the witch took it from.
He stood in the middle of your apartment; you still weren't home, so he decided to walk around the place that held so many memories of him and you. The first time you invited him over; your first kiss; the first time he told you about his powers; the first I love you. But to every first time there is also a last.
He hid the numerous cuts he had. You'd probably fuss about how he would need 20 stitches before taking care of him.
It was well into the night now here on Midgard when you walked through the door. A big smile adorned your face when you saw Loki. Putting your bags down, you quickly locked the door and ran up to hug him. He held himself back from the itch to hold you and hug you. You pulled back then, looking at Loki who had a stoic look in his eyes.
"Loki, what's wrong?" the longer he looked at you, the more it started to hurt him. You weakened him.
"I'm going back to Asgard. And I will not come back to Midgard." You stepped away. One hand wrapped around your waist as the other clutched the necklace on your neck. He felt the tears brimming in his eyes at your hurt look. He could hide his tears, he knew you couldn't hide yours, but he had to go through with this.
"What? Loki, what do you mean?"
It was a hard talk. Both of you were hurt but only one showed it.
He had to do this. He had to be the one to walk out and set you free.
You woke up with a gasp, taking in your surroundings you were glad to see Loki was still asleep. Getting up, you decided to get some fresh air and went up to the roof.
The cold breeze hit the bare skin of your arms and suddenly you regretted not having taken a blanket with you. The city looked so calm when you looked at this from this height, so clean and collected. Then again, you knew it was because of the height, everything was uglier up close.
Leaning in on the railway, you looked out and tried to clear your mind.
"Cold?" you turned around surprised to find Steve there, getting up from where he sat.
"Were you there the whole time?" he nodded to you and you didn't complain when he put on you his big sweatshirt. You certainly didn't complain about the warmness it brought you.
You kept staring forward when he leaned on the railway next to you.
"You know I'm more stubborn than you, right?" you scoffed at that.
"No you're not!"
"Ask Bucky, he will tell you."
"Bucky knows I am just as stubborn as you." He shook his head fondly at you, then his face fell a bit when he looked at you.
"What are you doing, kid?" Steve turned to look at you. "He is bad news, you are smarter than that."
"I am smarter than that, I am smarter than to judge someone you don't know. I know Loki better than all of you do!" you turned to him, crossing your arms, still holding the sweatshirt close to you.
"How do you know him that way? You said you haven't seen him in years. Maybe he wasn't a mass murderer back then but he is now." You could tell he was getting angrier trying to get you to understand him. People kept saying that you are Steve's daughter, so you are not one to back down.
"He did bad things yes but he changed, now he is here to help us and fix things!" you stomped your foot in the ground.
"He is here because of the Asgardian weapons, he is not here for you Y/N! wake up, he will only hurt you!"
"He is still here, with me!" you felt the angry tears brimming.
"How can you still love him? That creature that he is!"
"Don't call him that!"
"But he-"
"No! you can't judge me for loving him!"
"It's wrong Y/N, he is not good for you, I won't allow it." He yelled again in his captain voice and you have had enough. Apparently he did too.
"Steve you can't judge me!" he was walking away from you and from the conversation before you yelled at him and he faltered. "You only knew Peggy for a short period of time and yet you still felt so much for her even when you weren't together. And even after you woke up and managed to find her! I knew Loki for way longer than that and I loved him for more, so you can't blame me for still loving him today and going back to him!"
The heat of the moment didn't let you apologize for what you said, but when he walked out of your view only then did you realize what you said and you wished you could take it back.
You didn't want to hurt him like this.
Loki x plus size!reader
Loki x reader, Thor x reader (platonic), Natasha x reader (platonic).
Word count: 2.13k
Warnings: none, really? Angst I guess, mention of weight gain, stretch Mark's, cellulite, insecurity, etc.
A/n: Heyo! The reader in the story is shorter than Loki, and has stretch marks, cellulite, and is plus size. If any of these topics trigger or upset you, then please don't read! Also, I kinda made Loki an ass in this, but i really didn't mean to make him that much of a jerk whoops. Anyway, enjoy it! I'm currently writing part 2 of sticky situation, but I'm finding it a bit tricky, I'm sorry for the delay! Hopefully it should be up soon. - Aphrodite :)
(Gifs not mine! Credit to owner :3)
• Asgard was different to earth.
• Growing up, asgardians are taught to love and appreciate their, and other's, bodies. No matter what colour, shape or size, there was never any discrimination or bullying because of a person's body.
• You and Natasha were close friends, so you spent a lot of time around the avengers, often in the avengers tower.
• When you first met Thor, you knew you'd be best friends. You both grew close very quickly, and treated each other like brother and sister.
• After about a year, Thor wanted you to go and see Asgard. You were hesitant, knowing that all asgardians were as skinny and beautiful as models, but Thor really wanted you to come and meet his family. Of course, you said yes.
• When you first got there, you met all of Thor's friends and were shown around. It was only on your second day in the palace when you ran into Loki. Thor told you he had a brother, but you had no idea what he looked like or what his name was; when you bumped into him, you were surprisingly quite cool and collected. You forgot about all of your insecurities and worries as you'd been treated extremely well by other asgardians.
• However, that was not the case with Loki; he had never seen somebody as beautiful and Goddess-like as you. He didn't know what to say, and when he doesn't know what to say he results to sarcasm. He didn't mean to seem cold and cruel, but he couldn't help it.
• "I, um, I don't believe we've met. My name is y/n, I'm here with Thor."
• You stuck your hand out to him, which he did shake, but he seemed bored and uninterested. He looked you up and down, and you suddenly became anxious.
• "A midgardian, I see. Well, I'm the brother of your meat head of a friend. The name's Loki."
• You told him you were pleased to meet him, then left to go and get breakfast with Thor. You found him decently attractive; his dark hair, piercing blue eyes, tall stature. You would've been head over heels if he wasn't as disinterested and arrogant as he was when you met him.
• When you left, he mentally scolded himself for not being more polite. He truly was speechless when he saw you. You were short, your body defined with soft curves yet your stomach protruding outwards a bit more than others. Your arms and legs weren't twigs like the other asgardian women, but were larger and patched with cellulite. He found you beautiful, like a Queen in her true form, yet you found your body disgusting, like a pig mixed with a human.
• Throughout the next couple of days, Loki watched you. While you were talking with Thor, reading in the library, at one of the museums; wherever you were, you always looked so calm and tranquil. However, your mind said otherwise. Yes, Loki could read minds, but invading your thoughts made him feel guilty. Instead, he could sense your emotions, and found that your calm shell hid the raging fire in your mind. He was desperate to know more.
• Whenever Loki was in the room, however, you liked to do the same to him. You'd study his features, watch as he sipped from his golden goblet and intricately turn the pages of his book. You rarely heard him speak, and when he did, it was never to you, but his voice was cold and sharp. His responses were always witty and well thought out, and you were dying to know what was going on inside his mind.
• One night, after dinner, Loki thought it would be a good idea to 'accidentally' lock you out of your room. When you were about to enter your room, you realised it was locked, so you went to find help. Loki was the first person who you found.
• "Excuse me, Loki? I'm kinda locked out of my room, you wouldn't know how to help, would you?"
• You had just come from the great banquet, which he had missed. You wore a long, dark green velvet dress with gold accents, which had a long slit running from your right foot up to your thigh. It proudly showed off your legs, arms, and chest, even revealing a little bit of cleavage. You were scared to wear it, but Thor convinced you that you looked amazing in it.
• Loki helped you back to the room, unlocking it for you. He wore his usual green and gold outfit; perhaps there was a running theme in Asgardian clothes.
• You invited him into your room for a drink before bed, which he happily obliged to, and you thought that this cod be your chance to get to know him better. Luckily, he was thinking the same thing about you.
• "So, y/n. What part of midgard are you from?"
• "Umm, I'm from New York. What's life like on Asgard?" You didn't really want to talk much about yourself, you weren't used to having a lot of attention on you.
• Instead of answering you, Loki stared directly into your eyes for a few moments. A cold sensation grew in your mind, and suddenly you felt yourself remembering your worst memories. The image of your friends calling you fat in school flashed before your eyes. The face of your high school boyfriend after he told you that your stomach was disgusting. The memory of crying while stood in front of a floor length mirror, studying the new stretch marks on your thighs. And countless images of a set of weighing scales, the number increasing slightly each time
• Your vision was blurred as these images repeated over and over in your head, and you began crying. You didn't know what was happening, or where you were, but all you felt was pure sadness washing over your body. Suddenly, the visions stopped, and you were sat back on your bed, with Loki next to you. He looked scared, puzzled, and concerned all at the same time. Thor had warned you that Loki had magical abilities, and mind reading seemed like a fitting power to match his personality. You stood up from your bed and wiped tears from your cheeks. You couldn't stop crying, but your tears turned from ones of sadness to ones of anger.
• "What did you do to me!?"
• You tried to shout, but it got caught in a sob. Instead, your voice cracked, and you sounded similar to a screaming cat.
• Loki didn't reply to you, but he merely looked down, not wanting to meet your gaze. His face had guilt written all over it, and you knew that he saw all of your visions too.
• Without a word, you marched to the door and left. As soon as it closed behind you, you ran down the halls of the palace. You didn't care who saw you, but you needed to get to Thor.
• Once you arrived at his quarters, you didn't even bother knocking on the door before walking in. Thor was sat up in bed, reading a book that you could only guess was written in Asgardian. You were a mess; mascara running down you cheeks, red lipstick smudged at the corner of your lips, eyes and cheeks pink and puffy from crying. You explained everything to him, and he understood what you felt. Although he couldn't really comprehend why you hated your body so much, he understood that you needed to get back home.
• After you cleaned yourself up in his bathroom, you both left back for Earth. You were still wearing your green gown when you arrived back in the avengers tower at 2 in the morning. Thor went to his room after making sure you were okay, and you were left alone in the common area. Sitting down on the grey sofa, you let out a loud sob and began crying again. You made sure you weren't being too loud, as you didn't want to wake up the entire tower, but soon enough Natasha found her way to the living room. You had your head in your hands, so only knew of Nat's presence when she put a warm hand on your bare shoulder.
• As soon as you felt her touch you, you stiffened up and stopped crying. Before looking up at her, you sniffed and wiped at your eyes, trying your best to convince her that you weren't crying. You stood up, and looked up at her. Even with Asgardian golden heels, you were still shorter than everyone.
• "Hey, it's alright." She gave you a sympathetic smile before pulling you in for a hug, and as soon as you both had your arms around each other, you couldn't help but start crying again. She stroked your hair as you cried on her shoulder, and your mind went fuzzy with the typical haze of crying. She guided you to her room and managed to calm you down, and helped you get changed into a pair of her pyjamas. Once you laid down on her bed, you were asleep. Nat didn't sleep much anyway, so she was fine staying up and watching over you.
• When you woke up the next morning, you felt like crap.
• Natasha always buys pyjamas 2 sizes up, to get the cozy oversized feeling. Her pyjamas were the perfect size for you, but you became conscious of how they perfectly fitted your legs and stomach, and how much of your body was on display. Your clock read 7:38 am, so you decided to get up and go to the living area.
• When you got there, Nat was cooking in the kitchen, and Thor was sat and the island. You could already hear them talking quietly as you walked into the room, but they stopped once they saw you. The warm scent of pancakes and syrup lingered in your nose as you walked up to them both. You walked to Thor, who gave you a hug, and then you sat down. Nat squeezed your hand once you were fully sat, and placed a plate in front of you. On the plate was a stack of pancakes that rose to the level of your chin, drizzled in maple syrup.
• "I'm going back to Asgard later to talk to Loki. You never have to go back there, and he's never going to lay a hand on you again."
• You gave Thor a tiny nod and rubbed your forehead. It was more than rude for Loki to enter your mind without permission, but you couldn't get him off your mind. At least he felt bad after doing it, and he must have had a good reason to do so. If only you could turn back time to ask him why.
• Once you ate breakfast, you got dressed. You always kept some clothes there, as you spent more time in the tower than your apartment. You wanted something baggy that didn't show off any of your curves, so you opted for an oversized jumper and a pair of mom jeans. A few of the avengers were off on a mission, which left only Nat, Thor, Bruce and Peter. Peter was at his apartment, and Bruce was still in bed, so it gave you some peace and quiet.
• Thor left for Asgard half an hour later, and Nat had gone downstairs to train, leaving you alone. About an hour went by before you heard a strange noise come from the kitchen.
• You got up from your seat in front of the sofa and turned around before you saw Loki, stood in front of you. He wore an all black suit, which made him look twice as good as he did in Asgard. You wondered how he could be here, when Thor had gone to give him a piece of his mind, but you weren't in the mood to talk to him. Instead, you turned around and plopped yourself back on the sofa, and continued to scroll through Netflix.
• "Listen, y/n". He came and sat next to you on the sofa. "I know what I did was wrong. But when I first saw you, I was speechless. You are so beautiful and look like the Gods sculpted you out of clay and I...I just didn't know how to react."
• You shifted in your seat and turned to look at him. You noticed the sincerity in his eyes, and cocked an eyebrow as if to make him continue.
• "And, when I sensed your emotions all I felt was hate. Last night, I let my emotions get the best of me, and I just had to see what fueled all of that negativity. I...I'm sorry."
• You were both confused and happy at the same time. Sure, you were more than pleased that he had apologised, but he thought you were beautiful? How? You couldn't understand what part of you he liked.
• "If you don't completely hate me, I'd be honoured to maybe get you lunch?"
• You smiled, telling him you'd be happy to. God, how were you going to explain this to Thor?
Okay, since I'm a rare pair monster: ThunderIron with Tony visiting Asgard and meeting Thor's parents? And Tony being super excited abt science and stuff? I'd love it if it also included a little heart-to-heart talk with Loki, where the friendship between Loki and Tony helps Thor to find the connection back to his brother... if that's something you're intrested in writing. Thank you!
Okay so this wildly deviated from the prompt but after four attempts of starting, stopping, and throwing away what I’d written, this is what came out and since I don’t write a lot of outsider POV, I’m pretty pleased with it. I hope you are too!
Also on ao3 here
~
It’s an accident that Frigga finds out about her son’s future queen.
Sort of.
It’s no accident that her son’s future queen is on Asgard. Thor’s entire team is on Asgard for two months to learn their warriors’ techniques and he’d warned her and Odin before he came that his future queen would be among them. So when they arrive, she eagerly looks amongst his team in an attempt to determine if there’s one that her son seems closest to.
The problem is that Thor has been careful—or accidental—not to use a pronoun to describe the person he’s seeing and while “queen” is merely a term to describe Thor’s future spouse, be they man, woman, or any of the other thousand genders across the universe, Odin assumes that Thor must have been referring to the red-headed woman he walks beside as they enter the throne room, eagerly telling her about the wonders of Asgard.
“If he were going to choose a Midgardian, couldn’t he have at least chosen their leader?” Odin grumbles, missing the way Thor’s entire team pauses.
Frigga bites back a wince. Her husband has grown complacent in his diplomacy during his centuries as king but she hadn’t thought he would say something like that.
“Odin,” she says softly, trying to warn him off, but he just frowns.
“She isn’t worthy of him,” he hisses and that at least goes unheard by all except Thor and the one in the spangled uniform judging by how they wince. “She’ll die before he is ready.”
“You don’t know that she is his chosen one,” she murmurs back.
Odin gives the others a dismissive look. “Who else would he choose?”
She isn’t really that surprised when Thor doesn’t introduce them to his queen during that first meeting.
She goes to Thor’s room later that night, after the feast, after Natasha and Clint have thoroughly trounced all but Sif and the Warriors Three and Tony has gotten himself set up in the forges, to find him sitting on the edge of the bed, holding a watch.
“It was a gift,” he tells her as she sits beside him. “From Tony. It turns into a robot.”
Frigga has her suspicions then but she doesn’t share them with him. It is Thor’s decision when he wants to tell her who he is courting and she won’t ruin that for him. “I’m sorry about what your father said,” she says quietly.
“He’s hurt,” Thor says simply. “He doesn’t think highly of himself at the best of times and Father’s words hurt him. I don’t believe he’s ever thought he deserves me. What Father said confirmed it in his mind.”
“No one deserves another.”
Thor chuckles sadly. “Try telling him that.”
“I will once you introduce me.” She smiles to tell him that she won’t hold it against him if he decides not to and true to her expectations, Thor shakes his head.
“Soon,” he promises. “But not right now.”
In the coming weeks, she sees her son divide his time amongst his teammates: with Clint on the ranges, with Natasha and Steve on the training grounds, with Bruce in the libraries. But if she wants to find him, she goes to the forge first because he can nearly always be found with Tony. The suspicion grows in her mind into a near-certain fact but she waits still for his confirmation.
And then she stumbles across them.
It’s late at night, nearly a month after her son has returned home, and she intends on asking him if he plans to visit his brother during his stay. Thor isn’t in his room so Frigga goes down to the forges though she isn’t sure why he would be there at such a late hour. Their blacksmiths tell her though that Tony spends most of the night there, sleeping only rarely, and so she expects that there’s a chance Thor is there too.
She hears them as she draws closer, murmured voices only barely audible above the noises of the fires .
“—you don’t like it,” Thor says softly, sadly.
“I do,” Tony reassures him. “Darling, your world is incredible and your use of language to describe concepts… Do you know, just yesterday, I was talking to one of your healers and they used the term ‘soul forge’ to describe what we would call a ‘quantum field generator.’ I couldn’t believe it; it’s amazing.”
“But you’re not happy.”
Tony hesitates and then he admits, “I wanted your father to like me.”
“My father doesn’t like anyone.”
“That doesn’t make me feel better.”
Thor sighs heavily. “Beloved, I wish I could tell you that it will all work out—”
“But you can’t, I know.” Tony doesn’t really sound upset, just disappointed, and Frigga’s heart breaks just a little.
“I’m sure my mother will love you,” Thor offers.
Tony laughs. “Your mother seems like she would love anyone as long as they loved you.”
“And do you?”
She can hear the smile in Tony’s voice when he says, “You know I do.”
“Tell me again anyway.”
There’s the sound of a soft kiss and then Tony says, “I love you.”
“I love you too.” Another kiss. “Are you coming to bed soon?”
“In an hour or so. I want to get this last piece finished. Thank you, by the way, for letting me use the forges. I need something like this in the workshop. Can you imagine what I’d be able to get done?”
“I’d never see you again,” Thor says with a light chuckle. “I’m going back to the palace.”
“Hmm, see you in a bit.”
Frigga doesn’t bother hiding when Thor steps out of the forge. He raises his eyebrows at her, silently asking her for her opinion. She wonders if he’s silent because he doesn’t want Tony to know that she’s there. She smiles reassuringly and nods. Tony had put it best: as long as her son is loved, she’s happy.
And Thor is definitely, decidedly loved.
Among the new Avengers also a former enemy of Earth. Yesterday, the team was sent on a mission for the first time. Loki...", Bucky took the remote control from the table and turned off the TV. He leaned back on the sofa and looked over his shoulder as he saw Carol come into the room.
"House arrest? Carol, you've got to be kidding!", Loki stormed after Carol, who walked into the open kitchen to the refrigerator, upset, "I saved people and now I'm the villain of the situation? Why am I the only one being put under house arrest?"
"Loki, no one sees you as the bad guy. Director Hayward made the decision because he felt it was in the best interest for everyone-"
"For SWORD.", Bucky interrupted as he looked at Carol and supported Loki. Loki walked over to him and sat down in the seat on the sofa next to him.
"Thanks, Bucky.", Loki patted him on the shoulder in a friendly way.
"Anyway, he made the decision to keep you under house arrest until you're no longer the subject of the media."
"What do I care about a few journalists?" he asks, snapping his fingers to turn on the TV on a random program.
"Well there are worse places to be grounded. Besides, the Director is throwing a party for us today to congratulate us on the successful mission, although I won't be there," Bucky turned his head to Carol and looked at her asking. Loki got up from the sofa again and walked over to the kitchen counters and propped himself up against it as he grabbed one of the apples from the bowl.
"What could be so important about missing a party full of annoying people, Miss Danvers?" he asks, raising his eyebrows. Carol rolls her eyes, mirroring Loki's pose.
"I have to go to an intergalactic SWORD base and I'm meeting with a Kree informant there," Carol explains, snatching his apple from the hamd before she walked out of the kitchen.
"That sounds very important to me," Bucky interjects, "Can you bring me some crackers from the kitchen, Loki?"
Loki looked at Bucky in confusion, "Get them yourself."
"Thanks!" exclaimed Bucky as Loki left the room, that made Loki laugh.
"Director Hayward.", Monica directs Tyler's attention to the five Avengers with a wave of her hand, "I'd like to officially introduce them to the Avengers team.", Hayward nods a little for Monica to continue speaking, "Sam Wilson aka the Falcon and Doctor Stephan Strange. ", Sam smiles and shakes Tyler's hand, Stephen does the same as Monica introduces Vision and Wanda, "Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch and Vision."
"Isn't that three missing?" asks Tyler as he looked at the Avengers.
"Captain Marvel is currently on our base in space. I'll just take a moment to look for Loki and Sergeant Barnes.", Monica found the two at the bar getting drunk on Asgardian alcohol from a flask and making fun of the party guests.
"Loki, hey," he says, his gaze fixed on one of the guests, tapping Loki on the shoulder to get his attention, "See that guy back there in the corner with the slightly gray hair?"
"The one the team is standing with?" asks Loki, looking in the same direction.
"That's the guy.", Bucky confirms before taking a big swig of from the flask and handing it back to Loki.
"You want me to turn his drink into snakes?" asks Loki, smiling mischievously.
"You can do something like that?" asks Bucky, startled and excited at the same time.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you," Monica interjects into the conversation, stepping closer to the bar in her blue cocktail dress, "This is Tyler Hayward, the Director of SWORD, who I'd like you to meet."
Monica turned and walked in the direction of Hayward. Loki and Bucky pushed off from the bar and followed her.
"Director Hayward. This is Sergeant James Barnes aka the White Wolf and Loki, the God of Mischief."
"It's a pleasure to meet you both," Tyler said before turning to Loki, "Though we've been hearing quite a bit about you in the news lately."
"Well, that's why you ordered me placed under house arrest," Loki says indifferently without breaking gaze with Hayward.
"It's just for your safety.", a man, with blond hair walked up to Tyler and whispered something in his ear. Hayward nods to the man, confirming something he was told before looking up with a smile, "Well gentlemen, I'm afraid I must take my leave of the party. As a director, you never get any time off."
Hayward left Monica and the team without waiting for a response, the man, with blond hair followed him.
"He's really very cordial," Bucky said jokingly.
"Well if we're all here together right now, I'd like to introduce you to your new assistant," Monica explained and looked around, she waved her hand, "Catherine!"
"Now what might we need an assistant for?" asks Stephan.
"Well a lot of new tech toys, like weapons and jets, your armor could use an upgrade too and of course coffee." explained a young woman with her dark brown hair up in a black cocktail dress. She let her gaze roam over the team. Loki's gaze banished with hers and first thing Loki noticed however were her unusual eye color, they were purple.
"This is Catherine Mikaelson, she is an agent with SWORD," Monica introduces her to the team, Monica turned to Catherine with a smile, "I guess no introduction is needed for the team?"
"You're right about that," Catherine confirms with a nod.
"It seems you are not a Midgardian.", Loki states more than that is a question.
"You're right about that. I'm-", she tries to answer, when suddenly something is thrown into the room.
"GRANADE!" yelled Monica, just before the grenade went off, sending her spinning away. Catherine ran to the unconscious Monica and pulled out her gun. She shot two of the men. A handful of men enter the room. More men break through the glass of the window. Wanda hurls two of the men back, through the window. One of the men shoots at Bucky, blocking the shots with his metal hand. Vision and Stephan fight several men in hand-to-hand combat. Loki and Sam, meanwhile, prevented the men from entering. One of the men pulled a knife and hit Loki unexpectedly, Sam flung him against the wall and knocked him out. The other guests ducked to avoid being shot. A couple of the agents did their best and fight a couple of the men. Sam punches one of the men in the face. He grabs Sam by the arm and twists him. Sam doubles over in pain. Loki throws his dagger at him, Sam catches with his right hand and hits the man. Loki pats Sam on the shoulder as he came breath.
"Damn, what was that?" asks Stephan.
"Well someone wasn't invited to the party," says Bucky as he leans against the wall.
"Loki, you should get that cut checked," remarks Vision. Loki leans against the wall as he became increasingly dizzy and his vision darkened
"Loki?" was the last thing he heard as his body fell unconscious to the floor.
