ok so the case

a new club recently opened in town

and it’s currently the most popular one bc the owner is a very famous millionaire and has his famous guests over all of the time

however

there has been a couple of reports asking the officials to check for some suspicious activities going on inside

the reports seemed valid considering how details from different sources matched with each other

but the police can’t just barge in and do a thorough check

bc the one who owns the club is kind of a big deal

dressed up in the prettiest fanciest celebrity-like fits u own

it didn’t take the two of u long before u gathered up information

all u had to do now is catch them in the act and get rock solid evidence

it was supposed to be a simple fishy drug trade in a very fancy club’s private bathroom

from one of the stalls u got clear view of everything happening

but u weren’t paying attention

one second u were done sending the pictures to hyunjin

the next second u heard jisung yell ur name and suddenly someone’s on the ground ( ｡ _ ｡ )

turns out that someone barged in, attempting to shoot u but jisung got to him first

but they both didn’t miss

jisung took a bullet to his shoulder instead of u

from then on

ur body autopiloted and everything else was a blur

u helped him apply pressure on the wound as u requested help

guilt swallowed u whole when u saw him wince a little bc he thought u weren’t looking :((

the ambulance came and chan and hyunjin followed not long after

u just let them move jisung onto the stretcher and followed silently, not letting go of his hand

:(( jisung thinks seeing u like this hurts more than his wound does

as much as he’d try, chan wouldn’t be able to dissuade you from consuming lactose

by the tenth time he found you eating ice cream on the couch with a blissful expression painted across your face

he gave up

pure and simple

he just makes sure to stay out of your way once you were done

although, after a while chan starts buying lactase enzyme for you

and, if you’re having something like cereal, simply adding it to the milk cartons you bought

bc, for some reason, you refuse to buy almond or soy milk

chan experiences a fairly constant, low level of exasperation with you

never enough to influence your relationship

but he’s definitely perfected the internal eye roll

one day, chan decided that when he did the shopping or took you shopping

he’d try to get as many things lactose-free as he could

sometimes, this means you almost get into tussles in the market

but at least he’s doing it out of the goodness of his heart

and then again, those tussles usually mean that you get

at home (while begging for actual lactose-bearing items)

but chan thinks snuggles are just as good as ice cream

although ashe is really innocent and pure i think he’s easily one of the most romantic in blue lions and would really go above and beyond always for the person he loves.

i know a lot of people probably see ashe as someone being too reluctant and nervous to actually ever make a move first but i think if he really liked someone, he’d be extremely obvious about it, blushing like crazy, a stuttering mess, etc and after enough pep talks from sylvain he’d finally make a move to ask u out on a date and it would be an absolute wreck.

would literally put together something so fckin cheesy n corny but in the most adorably ashe way that it makes you want to punch him from being so precious

like a cute picnic or something by a lake and he’d make cute little cakes with some help from annette and it would just be so pure.

he’d rehearse how he’s going to confess in his head like a million times but when the moment actually comes it ends up just being a jumbled up mess filled with “ums” and he’d try to stick to the script him and sylvain came up with and get out a “y-you’re r-really… u-uh… p-pretty..” but then he’d fuck it all up by saying something weird n dorky like “a-and you s-smell really nice… w-wait that’s weird i’m sorry-” and you’d just hold back ur laughter, ur heart swelling with so so much affection for him.

ofc he’d ask for permission to kiss you, cheeks crimson and his eyes looking up at yours like tht one starry eyed emoji. you’d give him a vocal response, since he rly needs that reassurance. no stutters just “of course ashe” and he’d smile so so big and then just swoop down totally uncoordinated.

would probs miss your lips and have to readjust.

kissing ashe for the first time would be … messy. he’s not experienced at all, and doesn’t know what to do with his hands and he’d honestly be a dead fish for a good few moments. but as you ease him more into the kiss, he’d loosen up a bit, tilt his head and just stop overthinking. his lips would be really warm and would taste so sweet from the cake and he’d smile so hard into the kiss that your teeth end up bumping into each other and you’d pull away laughing

ashe kisses are the best honestly the butterflies fireworks the whole shebang yknow.

-Oh my watermelon kids

-they are finally in America!!!

-First stop: Trash City!

-oops sorry NYC, sorry, they just sound the same when I say them out loud so I get them confused sometimes :)

-(I’m kidding New Yorkers don’t kill me please)

-okay, okay, getting off topic.

-so they’re in New York

-they’re just kind of wandering and they end up running into the Elmos.

-Mari was almost pulled into a hug with one and Felix had to drag her out of the way, saving her from the creep

-they then immediately booked it to a restaurant, hoping that would give them a bit of a reprieve.

-Hard Rock Cafe was the one they picked, Nino’s choice, obviously.

-Marinette gushed over the mini milkshakes for like ten minutes.

-someone ended up recognizing them. They took a picture, posted it on twitter and now BOOM

-every single one of their fans and customers know exactly where they are.

-but ANYWAY

-they’re in nyc, why not go to a broadway show?

-Six. They go to see Six. Don’t @ me, I like six and I thought Marinette and Nino would both enjoy it

-Mari is LIVING for their outfits.

-Nino is also loving every minute.

-They’re in the front and Nino is basically grinning the whole show but during Heart of Stone you can see him tear up a bit.

-Felix actually enjoys it. He shoves all the thoughts of historical inaccuracies out of his head and mostly just listens to Mari ramble about the outfits.

-Adrien vibes with Seymour honestly. And Parr. And basically all the queens.

-Nathalie likes the show too, mostly because it’s a nice break for her and the songs are pretty catchy too

-for Mega Six, Mari is filming and all the queens look directly into her camera

-they also take it and dance on stage with her phone, filming everything

-Mari is about to faint. Doesn’t matter that she’s technically famous, she is DEAD

-they don’t see her face when they take and give back the phone so when she comes backstage afterwards with the gang, at first they just recognize her hair and see her as the girl who was filming the Mega Six

-then they see her face and the costume designer is trying so hard not to squeal, oblivious to the fact that she’s doing the exact same thing.

-Mari is absolutely gushing to them about how great the show was

-She tells Parr that her song was what kept her going in school, since she’s listened to the Broadway and West End soundtracks about a billion times. (Pretend like the broadway one is already out time is a construct with rich people)

-side note, they post the pictures and video and suddenly A BUNCH of Six fans are now following Mari and now Mari is designing outfits inspired by the queens because AH THE COSTUMES ARE GORGEOUS I COULD TALK ABOUT THEM FOR DAYS I LOVE THEM SO MUCH

-fun fact, they are all wearing a “If Found, Please Return to Nathalie” shirt

-Felix is adorable and bought Mari some hair pins with watermelons because Watermelon Kids

-yes Nathalie has a shirt that says “I’m Nathalie”

-they actually did lose Adrien and these two girls were able to return him to Nathalie and they all took a pic with them and followed the two on Twitter

-they don’t know what else to do in New York, so they just make their way down to...

-New Jersey!

-Seaside Boardwalk!!

-they mostly stick to the arcades, Mari sticking to casino pier, and them getting fries and lemonade as a snack.

-they spend the night at the boardwalk, going on a few rides like Moby Dick, and Pirate’s Cove.

-they spend the night at a house of a friend of Tom Dupain’s and the next day, they go to the Ocean County mall because it was close to the house.

-Adrien complained a bit about going to “the least cool mall in the state” but stopped when he found a five below at the plaza.

-five below is his weakness.

-mall, fun, yada yada yada

-bath and body works is inside? Mari’s in heaven.

-Friendly’s for lunch! Ice cream all around my friends!

-that afternoon they go to laser tag and completely dominated.

-Twins on one team, Watermelon Kids on the other.

-for some reason (the reason is called because I said so) they decide to go down to another boardwalk further south.

-on the way they go to lobster house for lunch (lobster house is amazing I don’t even really like it for the food it’s just the VIBES. they are. immaculate.)

-they go to Wildwood and ohhh

-Nino and Adrien are living it up on the rides

-rollercoaster, log flume, submarine ride slash game thingy!

-they’re doing it all

-and Felix and Mari are being so cute and domestic winning each other things at the games

-and then the arcade, where Felix is hopeless at Skeeball and ends up slipping and Mari helps him up while trying not to laugh

-can I just say that I think Mari is probably really good at claw machines?

-she has some weird sort of luck when she’s playing and she’ll always end up winning a prize

-they spend the night at a cute little hotel and the next day they go mini golfing

-now this is where Felix for some reason shines

-Mari keeps losing her golf ball and having to go search for it

-Adrien and Nino are both mediocre at it.

-Adrien got a hole in one and he and Nino screamed and Nino picked him up and spun him around

-they also got ice cream at said mini golf place

-Khor’s is just...*chefs kiss*. They all got the orange and vanilla swirl because I said so and it’s a Khor’s classic

-Felix picks an Italian place for dinner that night. It’s called Little Italy and it’s pretty good.

-and, that’s a wrap for New Jersey! Next...

-alllll the way down to.... North Carolina!

-they spend only a day in North Carolina, but they do go to these caves.

-and also, this place with food that’s mainly made of... alligator?

-basically, it’s a rest day.

-Mari gets SUPER inspired and buys fabric to make a jacket inspired by the caves and honestly it’s gorgeous because she used not only the tan of the rocks, but the beautiful blues of the water.

-NATHALIE BREAK

-she’s so tired but she’s having so much fun with her boys!!!

-she actually feels pretty well rested a few days into the trip.

-Nathalie can’t help but fuss over the kids

-and coo at their cuteness when they do cute things

-She and Mari always share a room

-and the three boys share a room

-Nathalie helps Mari do complicated braids because she’s super good at those and Mari can only do a basic braid.

-next!

-South Carolina!

-specifically Charleston.

-ghost tout ghost tour ghost tour

-“and this is the building where a dude saw the ship that held all his crops sink. He then proceeded to-“

-it gets graphic in that moment and Marinette is having fun but also isn’t a fan of thinking of... uh, head not being on body???

-pirates!!! They go into this cave thingy and see piratey stuff, which is entertaining for everyone because it’s creepy in the cave, which Mari enjoys, PIRATES, which Adrino enjoys, and history for the grumpy Felix

-it’s quiet and everyone’s happy, which Nathalie is living for.

-they mostly just walk around looking at pretty things the next day

-rainbow row rainbow row

-Mari is so inspired that she buys a cheap sketchbook from target just so she can get all these ideas down

-she desperately wants to sew but she has to wait since they don’t have access to a sewing machine.

-so, they eat at a sandwich shop before hitting the road.

-they make a quick stop in Georgia, laugh at a sign that lists the marvel movies made in Georgia, then leave.

-(sorry Georgia. I’m sure you’re a very nice state but I’ve had limited interaction with the state besides passing through and sometimes stopping to eat lunch.)

-this is the thing they’re very excited for!!!

-Florida!

-specifically, Orlando

-that’s right, DISNEY WORLD.

-they are spending a whole week here.

-that’s right, 7 days of fun.

-day 1, animal kingdom because they get there in the afternoon and there isn’t as much they want to see in animal kingdom. They have loads of fun though and are planning on dropping by another day for the first half of the day.

-next day is Magic Kingdom

-they go on so many rides.

-small world is Adrien’s favorite ride, don’t @ me.

-Casey’s Corner is where they get lunch because Mari loves the aesthetic.

-MINNIE EARS ALL AROUND

-Marinette has a different one for every outfit

-Aristocats ears!!!

-she can’t explain why she loves it, she just DOES.

-for their last day (yeah this is out of order but who cares) they park hop, ending in magic kingdom and staying for the fireworks. Our favorite designer wears these lovely light up ears

-when they went to animal kingdom on the first day you KNOW Mari had some cute ears

-shh don’t tell the boys and Nathalie but Felix actually asked Mari to be his girlfriend when they were in Hollywood studios

-they walked off together, and sat on a bench somewhere sharing a snack

-our extra boy asked if she could be his girlfriend with matching beauty and the beast rings

-Mari said yes and she smiled soooo much.

-it’s kind of hard to explain everything so let’s just talk about the interesting stuff!!

-Marinette VIBES with the princesses oh my god

-TIANA INSPIRED OUTFIT PLEASE

-Disney is V fun but... sorry boys, it’s time for Marinette to get some sewing done! (Also I’m kind of bored of writing Disney this took several weeks bc I would write like a sentence a day lol)

-CALIFORNIA TIME

-they do go for one day in Disneyland but most of it’s spent going to get some inspiration for Mari.

-fabric stores fabric stores.

-that girl is sketching and coming up with ideas like her life DEPENDS ON IT

-inspiration explosion

-also some normal Knick knack shopping, so Mari gets some time away from staring down at her tablet and sketchbook.

-resting and just going to try all different sorts of normal, causal restaurants

-living the life

-also, Felix and Mari go on their first date. I say first date Very Loosely because it’s actually them sitting in Mari’s hotel room eating pizza and watching a movie and though they both consider it a date, they want to have a cute, cliche first date when they back home.

-Speaking of home...

-They are about to fly back to Paris when they get a message from Jess, one of the girls who found Adrien in NY.

-It was a message from her asking if she could check her latest tweet.

-it was a recording of Jess playing guitar, the song (an instrumental version of Miraculous but slightly modified) being wonderfully sweet. Aeon, the other girl, was also in the video, humming along to Jess. At the end, Jess dedicated the video the them and they both gushed about how nice they were in person and that both of them had waited until they had the arrangement ready before they posted it on social media.

-it thawed even Felix’s icy heart.

-and as they flew back to Paris, Nathalie couldn’t help but think of what a perfectly wonderful trip it had been. Minus... the accidents.

-But there’s no need to talk about that here.

-They reach Paris safe and sound, and Marinette takes a long, long nap right before she goes into creative mode and sews all the outfits she had sketched. Advantages of being rich, you know? You don’t have to worry about fabric price.

-While Mari was sewing, everyone else was also slowing down.

-And gearing up to go back to school

-*dramatic music*

-What will happen next? Even I have no idea!

It’s almost like.... I exist??? Haha, but seriously, sorry for sort of going MIA??? I finally finished this, mostly by getting lazy towards the end. Yes, before you say it, I don’t hate NYC. It’s cool there, I just love making fun of it and the fact the special cam eout a few days ago is just pure irony. All of those links should work, so you can actually buy the Disney things I’m talking about! If they aren’t, please tell me so I can fix them. Next up is the Nathalie mentioned “Accidents”. That should take way less time because I’m going to go with the tried and true method of “Make stuff up and hope it makes sense”. I say should because you never know with me, I’m a mess ❤️❤️❤️

a/n: i’ve never written something like this, this was an interesting request! thank you for requesting and i hope you like it! also some of these got a lil short bc i really couldn’t think of any ideas, i’m sorryyy

note: apologies for how long it is😭 i’m on mobile and i don’t know how to add “read more” so if anyone could tell me that would be great!

Chan:

chan wouldn’t really have a reaction? like nothing would change due to you being a vegan. but it did become a problem when you went out to eat or went to parties because most places around weren’t vegan. chan decided to take matters into his own hands and make sure, in advance, the place you were going to was vegan.

“hey felix, do you know if the restaurant we’re going to is vegan? i just want to make sure because...” his voice trailed off as he got up to do a few things in his room. you smiled at what you had heard, he cared enough to make sure you could have a good time at the party too.

he obviously couldn’t always do that and you knew that but seeing him so focused on finding a vegan place nearby made your heart burst. you heard him say his goodbyes and let out a loud sigh. you thought “maybe he didn’t find one”, so you walked into his room and waddled up to give him a back hug. he let out a yelp before turning to see you.

“god, you scared me!” he chuckled before placing a kiss on your forehead. you smiled before saying,

“you’re the best, i love you.” he was a little shocked at the sudden confession but happy nonetheless.

“well i love you more, angel”

Minho:

min would probably think nothing of it but if it was okay with you of course, he would sometimes tease you with things you used to love but now didn’t eat. like one morning, the boy was up making pancakes for himself as you both usually had separate breakfasts. you walked into the kitchen to see him eating some of the slightly messed up pancakes and he caught you looking.

he smirked before asking, “do you want some?” you let out a small chuckle before waving your hand in dismissal.

“no thanks, love” you replied. he hummed before drizzling maple syrup on his alright looking pancakes. you then whined as you thought about how much you missed pancakes. then you realised... you could make them yourself!

you decided to find a vegan recipe and get on with it. minho looked at you in confusion before following you to the fridge.

“what are you doing?” he asked, maple syrup still in his hand.

“making my own, much better, pancakes” you replied back, giving him a small smile. he smiled back before whispering in your ear,

“can i help you?”

Changbin:

bin would be slightly confused as to why you would voluntarily stop eating meat and whatnot but still would be supportive. he would pout slightly and feel a little bad when you said you couldn’t join the boys since they were going to a meat place that had absolutely no vegan options.

“it’s fine love, go and eat” you reassured him. he still seemed unconvinced but nodded before kissing you goodbye.

“please make sure you eat something before i come back!” he shouted before the door shut.

you smiled to yourself, getting up to make yourself a meal.

Hyunjin:

after walking around, you both decided it was time to eat. walking into a nearby restaurant, you both sat down and began looking at the menu. you scanned through the menu and were delighted to find a few vegan options. you went with (insert vegan options bc i’m clueless) and hyunjin went with a classic burger and fries.

hyunjin’s food arrived first and you couldn’t help but stare at it when the waiter placed it on the table. hyunjin looked at his food with joy before digging in. you had a small pout on your face while you scrolled through your phone. you then felt a finger poking you and when you looked up hyun was holding half of his burger, pushing it towards you. you looked at him with confusion, was he expecting you to eat that??

he looked back, with the same confusion, until it hit him. he nearly dropped his burger on the table before he covered his mouth in shock.

“babe, i went blank and completely forgot you can’t eat that, i’m so sorry!” he was rambling, apologising after every sentence or so. you had to stop him before you went mad, so you kissed his cheek.

“hyun, it’s alright you forgot, now carry on eating dumbass,” you giggled at his now red cheeks as he continued to eat again.

“did i say i’m sorry?”

“hyunjin!”

Jisung:

jisung would be really interested? like he’d ask you loads of questions like why’d you become one or what food do you miss eating the most, innocent questions like that. he would also try his best to find vegan recipes he could make since he did eat a lot of animal products. jisung sometimes felt a little bad for eating it in front of you, but you reassured him that it was fine.

“babe, should i make burgers?” he asked you. you shook your head, “nah it’s fine, i’ll order something”

“but i have a vegan substitute?” he walked over to you, showing you the packaging.

“see i made sure, i wanna have a meal with you again... like we usually do.” he whispered and you saw the sincerity on his face. he really wanted to have a meal with you, it had been a while and you can’t say you didn’t miss it too.

“alright show me what you got, chef jisung” you said as you jokingly bowed in front of him.

“babe, i don’t remember anyone having to bow down to a chef-”

“oh whatever, let’s make food!” you said happily running back to the kitchen. he smiled as he watched you, before following after.

Felix:

lix is very sweet and supportive about it, he would be very interested so he decided to try veganism for a week.

it went well... partly. he got through half of the week fine, the both of you finding vegan substitutes for nearly all of your favorite snacks. but felix completely forgot when the boys bought food after practice. he was starving so he dug in straight away, basically finishing his bowl in 5 minutes.

“lix, are you on some diet with y/n?” minho asked, stuffing his face with food.

felix’s eyes widen as he placed his bowl on the practice floor.

“no! i completely forgot!” he said, covering his face as the other boys laughed.

“it’ll be fine, i’m sure y/n won’t kill you,” jisung giggled as the other boys agreed. this slightly put felix at ease although he still felt a little bad for it. he decided to stop eating as he was full anyways and get back home after waving goodbye to the boys.

“bye felix, pray y/n doesn’t kill you!” says changbin as the other boys continue laughing at his worried but smiling expression.

as he got home and opened the door, he instantly smelt food. he walked to the kitchen where you were, stirring a pot while cutting up some vegetables.

“hey lix,” you said not turning around. he walked towards you before wrapping his arms around your waist.

“hey, what are you making?” he questioned, trying his hardest not to make it obvious. you smiled, feeling his breath against your neck and felix instantly knew you realised.

“well, since you’ve already eaten, this is for me.” you said, finishing your cutting.

felix pouted, “i didn’t mean to eat the meat! i was really hungry and decided to eat and completely forgot that- hey!” he was rambling o you decided to shove a few pieces of carrot in his mouth to shut him up.

“lix, it’s completely fine it’s not like you’re actually a vegan.” you giggled at his shocked expression before he tried to speak forgetting there were still carrots wedged in his mouth. he nearly chocked, quickly chewing and swallowing before trying to speak again.

“so... you’re not mad?” he questioned as you shook your head and he let out a deep breath he was holding for God knows how long. you turned to him, kissing his pink lips.

“i could never be mad at you, angel”

Seungmin:

seungmin knew you were vegan long before you told him as he just shrugged when you decided to finally tell him.

“i already knew y/n. it was a bit obvious, i haven’t see you stuff your face with all the junk in weeks!”

“hey, i do not stuff my face with junk!” you pouted as he just laughed. okay, maybe you did but thay was besides the point. you chose to tell him today because his family invited you both for a dinner later that day.

after you both arrived you sat opposite his sister, seungmin sitting right next to you. once everyone was there, people began looking through the menus and ordering. you found what you wanted and so did seungmin.

a while had passed and your food was finally being sent out. the waitress placed your food and you thanked her before she left. you looked into the silver tin that came with it and there was meat? you looked at seungmin who saw the tin and took it.

“let me eat that for you,” he began, eating half of it in one go. you smiled at him but smacked him on the thigh. he looked at you in confusion.

“you told me i stuff my face with junk but look at you! you look like a squirrel!” you laughed as he blushed before he nudged you.

“hey, if you must know this meat is not junk.” he said, trying to be serious but began laughing once he saw your smiling face.

“thanks for this, i love you.” he quickly said, stuffing the rest of the meat in his soft looking cheeks. you giggled before kissing his full cheeks.

“i love you too, kim seungmin.”

Jeongin:

jeongin would try his best to be respectful so sometimes he wouldn’t eat meat or anything animal related (?) in front of you, just incase you were uncomfortable. you found out at a regular café you two always went to when you saw him looking through the menu.

“yennie, when did you need to look through the menu? you always get the cake and coffee?” you questioned looking up from your phone.

“i decided i’m not going to eat anything that’s not vegan in front of you.” he said with a smile on his face.

you quirked a brow, before speaking again. “when was it a problem, love? you can eat whatever you want in front of me, you know that.”

“i just... thought it would maybe make you uncomfortable... i don’t know,” he trailed off, looking back at his menu in embarrassment.

“baby, it’s okay i promise i don’t feel uncomfortable when you eat all that in front of me, okay?” you said, placing your hand on his.

he looked up from his menu and gave you his signature smile. you smiled back before you both decided to finally order.

Cookies, Love, and Burnt Cookies.

!! Contains some swearing !!

SKZ members decide to make cookies one day. The real question is, will it end up in disaster or utter chaos? Maybe both? Fic featuring OT8 members of Stray Kids! <3

“Have you gotten out all the ingredients yet Hyunjin...?!” Minho asked, pulling out a mixing bowl.

“Almost. I just can’t find the eggs! I swear I saw them yesterday.” Hyunjin replied, sticking his arm in the fridge as he moved items around to find the carton of eggs.

“Look harde- OW!” Minho yelled, accidently whacking his hand against the counter as he turned to face him.

“HAH! That’s for yelling at me.”

Minho rolled his eyes.

“We haven’t even started baking yet! And both of you are already at it.” Felix sighed.

“That’s his fault. He’s taking too long to find the eggs.”

“They’re not even in the fridge! You can’t yell at me if there’s no eggs to find!”

“Jokes on you, I have them with me~” Minho smirked.

“YOU WHAT”

“I was just teasing Jinnie~ Now get over here, I think we have everything?”

“I think we do.” Felix glanced over everything just to be sure as Hyunjin made his way over grumbling.

“You look a lil grouchy. Is it because I woke you up instead of Jeongin since he had to go out?”

“You tickled me awakeee…” He whined. “Are we just making regular sugar cookies?”

“Yep! I thought maybe we could decorate them too! I bought some frosting for us.” Felix chirped, pulling out store-bought frosting from a shopping bag. “Here they are~” he said, smiling.

“I’ll set them down for you.” Minho said, taking the containers of frosting. “Should we start making them now, Felix?”

“Oh yes- Hyunjin could you pass me the flour?”

-- time skip bc cookies take time --

“Alright! Dough is done, Minho could you please find the cookie cutters? It’s in the storage room.”

While Minho was searching for it, Hyunjin divided the dough into three sections so each of the boys could do whatever they wanted with their share of the dough. He began playing around with his, tossing it like pizza dough.

“Hyunjin-”

“Yeah?”

“Be careful you don’t drop that on the floor. I dunno the last time we cleaned it.” Felix cautioned.

“Me? Drop it? Never…” Hyunjin laughed, tossing it above his head and catching it to prove his point. “See?”

Felix stared at him for a moment and then shrugged. “Okay then. Just be careful mate.”

“You got it bro--” Hyunjin’s dough fell on the floor with a smack.

He glanced at Felix quickly, who thankfully had his back turned. The boy darted to pick it up and dust it off quickly, blowing on it to get off any germs from the floor that could’ve collected, dumping it on the table just as Felix turned back around.

“You good? I thought I heard a thump.”

“O-Oh- that was....probably Minho. All’s good.”

“Really? Huh. I’ll go check on him.” He said, leaving the kitchen.

Once Felix was out of sight, Hyunjin stared at his dough with a disgusted look on his face.

“...What am I going to do with you..” He thought aloud, his nose scrunching as his finger poked it.

“A thump? Wasn’t me.”

“Oh really? That’s weird.”

His eyes widened at the sound of his approaching friends, arms flailing everywhere as he panicked. The doorknob was turning…

“We’re back!” Felix hummed, moving towards his spot from before.

Hyunjin sat at the table, looking 100% calm as if nothing happened. “Find the cookie cutters, hyung?”

“It took some looking, but yeah, I did.”

“Perfect. Here’s your half of dough, by the way!”

“Thanks...”

“You’re Welcome.” Hyunjin smiled, facing him. His tone seemed a little too sweet.

He had traded his germy dough with Minho’s clean one-

I repeat: He traded his fallen dough with Minho’s clean dough last minute so he wouldn’t have it.

Minho raised an eyebrow suspiciously at him, and Hyunjin could feel cold sweat forming before Minho turned his attention back on the cookie cutters.

“Wait...WE HAVE CAT COOKIE CUTTERS? I’m using them. They’re mine.”

“Are you going to make Soonie, Doongi, and Dori cookies?” Felix questioned.

“Of course I am!” He grabbed his dough and cut out 3 cat shaped cookies.

Hyunjin just stared at them.

“Hyunjin! Hurry up so we can bake them already!” Minho patted his head and gave it a light flick.

“Right- pass me a cookie cutter please?”

After cutting the dough into shapes, the boys placed them on a baking sheet and put them into the oven.

“How long?”

“Er...Given the amount of cookies we have, I’d say fifteen minutes.”

“Oh good. I’m hungry…” Hyunjin sighed.

“Oooooh you’re making cookies?” A familiar voice sounded from the kitchen entrance. “Is there enough for me, hyungs?” Jisung ambled forwards to take a look at the oven.

“Yes. You can have Minho’s cookies.”

“Of course I will. As a matter of fact, I’ll have some of your cookies too, won’t I, Hyunjin. After all, who could resist my heart stopping handsomeness?”

“Handsomeness? Where?” Minho squinted and looked around the room.

“HA-” The clapping of hands and laughter were heard from Hyunjin.

“Hyung…!” Jisung groaned, only to be enveloped by a pair of arms.

“You can have my cookies!” Felix laughed, squeezing Jisung into a tight hug. “Don’t listen to em! You’re handsome as hell.”

“Aw...thanks Lix.” Jisung hugged him back before turning his head.

“SEE! At least FELIX loves me!”

“Oh yeah?! Well-Well- MINHO LOV-”

Minho stared at Hyunjin with a teasing disgusted look on his face.

To which Hyunjin mirrored by looking him up and down and making a fake gagging sound.

“...Never mind. BUT I BET FELIX LOVES ME MORE!”

“NOOO!” Jisung tightened his grip on Felix and began to sway left and right.

“Lix loves me!”

“Ack! I love all of youuu~” Felix hummed, loving the hug he was getting.

“What’s going on?” Changbin asked, coming in to set a used glass in the sink.

“They’re fighting over who I love more, I guess.”

“Wow, even Minho?”

“Of course not. It’s dumb because Felix loves me more than both of you combined!”

“That’s stupid, because he loves me more than all THREE of you combined!” Changbin smirked.

“Tch. Sureee…”

Felix giggled at them.

“How do we settle this?” Jisung asked, playfully trying to kiss Felix’s cheek.

“Er...Arm wrestling?” Binnie suggested.

“Arm wrestling…?!” Hyunjin repeated.

“Yeah…”

“Why arm wrestling? To compete for his love?”

“That’s all I could come up with! Do you have anything better?”

Hyunjin bit his lip.

“That’s what I thought, Ratpunzel.”

“Hey, don’t call me that!”

“Alright, who wants to compete first?” Minho asked aloud.

“ME. MEMEME!” Jisung shouted, still latched around Felix.

“Alright. Jisung against Changbin.”

“I-” He swung his arms nervously. “Against Changbin? Uh- can I go against Jinnie instead-”

“Are you underestimating me?!”

“You’ll go against Changbin.” Minho smirked.

“Alright, lemme just-” Jisung dropped to the floor and started doing push ups.

“C’mon! I don’t got all day.”

“Bro chill! I’m trying to not break an arm over here, jesus!”

“You’re just a scared quokka.”

“NO!” Jisung pouted. “You’re about to cooked bacon meat once I beat you, pig.”

“IT’S PIG RABBIT.”

“Okay, alien pig.” Jisung teased, taking a seat at the table with Changbin.

Changbin put his arm in position, glaring at the man across from him with a smirk. “Let’s just see how this plays out, loser.”

Jisung flexed his arms to show off his beefy muscles, returning the smirk. “I’d be surprised if this pig could beat this.” He landed a kiss on his flexed arm and met his hand with Changbin’s.

“Pabbit versus Quokka.” Minho announced, standing beside them. “Shall we see who comes out as the victor and the loser? On three.” He placed a hand on their holding hands. “Three. Two....One!” He shouted, releasing his grasp.

“WAH!” Jisung squeaked, using his full on strength against Changbin, and getting...close to nowhere.

“Hehe!” Binnie giggled. “I can do this all day!”

Jisung grunted as he started using another hand to help himself out.

Changbin yawned.

“This....isn’t...fair!” Jisung whined. “Felix...I LOVE YOU, BABY-” He yelled, using every last inch of force he had, managing to turn Binnie’s arm to the opposing side farther.

“Hah. Hope you had fun~” Changbin slammed Jisungs arm against the table.

“AUGH!” The man fell off his chair onto the floor dramatically. “Avenge me…” He whispered, before faking dead.

“Pfft. You wish.” Minho laughed. “Alright Hyunjinnie, its you and me~”

“Save me.” Hyunjin sighed, taking Changbin’s spot as Minho took Jisung’s.

Both hands met, and this time Changbin counted down. “3...2...1!”

“ARGHHHH!!” Hyunjin yelled, using all his strength.

“You...sound like you’re...giving birth!” Minho snickered, also using his might.

“Maybe he is!!” Jisung called from the floor.

“SHUT...UP!”

“Im hurt, baby!”

“I’M NOT IN THE CURRENT POSITION TO CARE RIGHT NOW!”

Minho slowly started leaning into Hyunjin, who responded by scrunching his face. “Don’t distract me.” He whined.

Minho puckered his lips.

Hyunjin batted his eyelashes.

Minho leaned in.

“HELL NAW-” Hyunjin faltered as he reeled back, to which Minho used it as an opportunity to win.

“Oh sh-” The long haired man’s arm was an inch from hitting the table. He turned his head towards the blonde watching it all. “Felix...saranghae.” He flipped his hair and let himself lose, slumping against the table.

“Me versus you, are you going to surrender?” Minho said towards Changbin who stood behind him.

“No, but are you?”

“Never. Hyunjin move!”

Hyunjin still lay there fake dead.

“Felix, could you please take out the air fryer?”

Hyunjin jumped out of the chair.

“Pabbit, please take a seat.”

“You realize you’re pretty much half of me, right?”

“What do you mean?”

“I’m pig plus rabbit. …And you’re...rabbit.”

“Okay, and?”

“Everything you bully me about is directed towards yourself as well~”

Minho put on a poker face as he positioned his arm. “Then I’ll focus on the pig part of you.”

“PIG PART?!”

“On three.”

The younger sighed, matching his position.

“Two. One.”

Changbin was doing relatively well, and looked up to see his competitor’s face.

Minho’s face was point blank and staring at him intensely, seemingly without blinking.

“GAH- Hyung, you’re scary…”

“Are you going to cry wee wee wee all the way home?”

“I’m going to cry wee wee wee at my victory.”

-Bang.-

“Ouch.” The elder rubbed his arm. “Okay, Okay you win.”

“YES! EHEH.” Changbin rose up and ran towards the blonde, both giggling as Binnie gave him a tight hug. “I LOVE YOU MORE THAN ALL OF THEM!!”

“I can’t believe you guys held a whole arm wrestling competition.” Felix smiled. “I LOVE YOU BROS!”

Jisung got up and made a heart shape symbol with his arms. “BABY I LOVE YOU TOO.”

“I LIKE YOU GUYS A LOT.” Minho shouted.

“I LOVE YOU ALL.” Hyunjin screamed, joining in.

“I LOVE ALL OF YOUUU” Changbin yelled.

“WHAT ARE YOU KIDS SCREAMING FOR, WE’RE GONNA GET KICKED OUT!” Chan yelled, looking like he awoke from a nap with his messy hair all fluffed up. Father mode on.

He was followed by a sleepy Seungmin, sniffing the air. “Are you guys making something? It smells really burnt in here.”

Everyone in the baking group froze…and turned to the oven…

To which smoke was escaping out from.

“HOLY SHIT-” Jisung screamed.

Minho ran to the oven. “MY SOONIE, DOONGI, DORI COOKIES!”

“WAIT, TURN IT OFF FIRST”

Gray smoke billowed out of the appliance, the cookies burnt to crisp along with some small fires lit on it.

Hyunjin screamed, just as the fire alarms of the entire house turned on, blaring loudly.

Chan ran towards Minho, and began waving his arms to let the smoke fly away, but accidently smacked the second oldest’s face, causing him to drop half the cookies on the floor.

“MATE WATCH OUT-” Felix shouted, warning Chan who was able to dodge in time.

Changbin picked up a fallen cookie. “I don’t think they’re edible anymore.”

“Well, no SHIT, Sherlock.” Seungmin said, watching everything go down and eating some of the store bought frosting Felix bought.

“Don't EAT that!” Hyunjin yelled, smacking Binnie’s hand.

“I WASN’T- Wait is this one of Minho’s cookies? It’s cat shaped.”

Hyunjin stared at it. “It is...lucky his burned. I dropped the dough on the floor and gave it to him. I was waiting for him to eat it.”

“You did what!” Changbin said in shock.

“TOOK THE WORDS RIGHT OUT OF MY MOUTH.” Minho called back. “HYUNJIN!”

“UH- I ACCIDENTLY MIXED OUR DOUGHS UP...WHOOPS…”

“I’M GOING TO MAKE YOU EAT THESE BURNED COOKIES ON THE FLOOR.”

“NO!” Hyunjin backed away, bumping to Seungmin who dropped the can of icing and spilled it on him.

“NOO! I LOVE THIS SHIRT.”

“You should’ve watched where you were going!” Jisung laughed.

“Well! Watch what you say!” Picking up the blue frosting can, he scooped some into his hand and swiped it on Jisung’s face, Hyunjin snickered. “Bluesung is making a comeback.”

Jisung licked his frosting covered lips. “Bluesung is also sweeter than before. Give my sweet lips a kiss!” He ran towards Hyunjin, who ran away. “WHY ARE YOU LIKE THIS?!”

“I JUST WANT A KISS!”

Hyunjin screamed as the chase continued.

“Guys! The cookies are still burning-”

“CHAN! YOUR PANTS ARE ON FIRE!” Minho yelled, nodding at the knee of his pants.

“THEY’RE WHAT-” Chan began smacking his pants, desperately trying to unlight them.

“HYUNG, TAKE OFF YOUR PANTS.” Minho shouted.

“WAIT, WAIT, WAIT, YOU WANT ME TO WHAT?”

“TAKE THEM OFF!” Minho and Felix chorused as the flame got bigger.

“FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE, TAKE THEM OFF OR GET BURNED ALIVE, CHAN-”

Bang Chan fumbled with the buttoning of his pants, to which Minho ended up quickly yanking them off him instead as Felix pulled him back.

“I GOT THIS!” Changbin yelled, grabbing a water bottle and splashing its contents towards them.

It splashed Felix in the face instead, the blonde boy releasing Chan and falling backwards into the trash can in surprise.

“UH I’LL GET SOMETHING ELSE.” Binnie turned around and grabbed what Seungmin held, thinking he was trying to help.

“WAIT-”

Pink frosting now coated Minho and Chan.

“Bro your aim sucks.” Seungmin said, watching a chunk of frosting slip off Minho’s nose. “I’ve got to take a picture of this…” He snickered.

Minho clicked his tongue. “Come here puppy, want a treat?” Grabbing another frosting can with a green tint, he started throwing the sticky contents at the younger.

“Uh. A LITTLE HELP?” Felix yelped, the trash can having fallen on the floor and taking Felix with it.

“We got you! You’ll be out soon, I promise-” Chan comforted, both him and Changbin trying to yank Felix out.

There was a twisting of the dorm room’s knob.

“...Guys, I’m-” The maknae started, before hearing the still blasting fire alarms. Dropping his bag, he ran to the kitchen entrance to see-

Hyunjin trying to shove blue frosting covered Jisung away from him as he was trapped in a corner, Minho pelting Seungmin with green frosting and Seungmin tossing sprinkles, Felix stuck in their trash can, with Changbin tugging on it, and a PANTLESS leader pulling Felix’s arms. On the floor was Chan’s pants with a small flame lighting it, surrounded by coal looking cookies and a smoking oven.

Jeongin took a step back, before running out the apartment and slamming the door shut. After a minute, he slowly opened the door and went back to where he last stood, taking in the same scene once more.

“These hyungs…”

Summary: Every warrior needs a sword and shield to defend themselves against enemies. However, two nerds take up weapons in a vastly different fight.

Life between the sheets does not always have to be characterized by Sensuality because there is more to be found among the pillows and blankets. It is amiable comfort, dozing off together to the sunrays streaming in through the light bedroom curtains or listening to music while sharing earbuds to kill the boredom of quarantine by means of occupying oneself with whatever is at hand. After all, it is yet unknown for how long the global population is forbidden to leave their homes safe for retrieving necessities at the supermarket or drugstore.

A blessing in disguise, however, is being able to spend the period of restriction with a bunch of lively lads which includes the lover of little more than a year. The moment it became known countries were hauling in their own residents a foolhardy decision was made to remain in South-Korea and leave the life in the place of origin behind for a while. The choice did not sit well with Chan at first, not too subtly asking to reconsider it though soon finding a secret delight in finally being able to wake up every day in the same bed.

No thousands of kilometres distance.

No time to be taken away by management and time zone differences.

The pandemic has at least given us this.

A taste of life as a real couple.

Just before IKEA closed as well, the lovable human kangaroo insisted on going there for the last shopping spree so personal taste could be added to the bedroom that would be shared. The well-meant idea was rejected at first, saying it was not needed and that the interior was fine as it was. However, once bleached locks have set their mind to something, it is barely possible to change the focus of determination and thus the private shared space has been decorated with a few candles alongside a new bookcase to house whichever books were already taken from home as well as a few pieces of art and a collection of postcards that have been pinned on a metal grate.

Our perfect little nest.

A haven of comfort for songs and nerdy thoughts.

‘Hey, babygirl.’ The mattress dips as the human koala joins the small kingdom in the sheets of sweatpants and loose tops that are somehow still deemed charming. Even the surface beneath the minimal layer of makeup is apparently preferred by the strong arm wrapping around the waist as platinum locks rest on the head and watch the screen held between hands. ‘What’re you playing?’

‘Pokémon Sword. It’s really good thus far and- Oh my god, it’s so cute!’ In an instance, the screen is lifted to show the six adorable balls clad in armor, a new creature which is called a Falinks. ‘Look at these little buddies!’

A wide smile breaks out on plush lips, wavy locks shaking in closed-eyed amusement before looking up again with the wonder of a new discovery. ‘So that’s why you’ve been kicking the air or screaming something is cute. I didn’t know you were a Pokémon fan?’

‘I have been since I was little, but it’s not something I tell others about.’ The true meaning of the grin no longer passes under the radar, igniting an ember of shame for harbouring a geeky side when it comes to the Japanese creatures. ‘Yes, I know, I am a mega nerd. Bite me.’

The jaw clenched in timidity relaxes when slender fingers tickle the sides as a big nose presses into the side of the neck to nuzzle it. Nevertheless, the all-knowing grin from before remains plastered onto plush lips. ‘I suppose you’re also interested in training Ghost and Psychic types as well?’

‘I’m an open book, aren’t I?’

‘Just a little bit.’ The teasing is made up for with a chaste peck on the nose followed by one on the forehead. Just the way it is preferred and done whenever apologizing for something or to simply gain a smile. Withal, now, judging by the twinkle in mischievous eyes, it is definitely to say sorry in advance for what is to come. ‘Can you guess what my type is?’

‘Me?’

The witty response evokes the bubbly boyish laughter that has been loved ever since the first time it was heard. ‘You’re not wrong.’

‘Okay, okay, let me think.’ The scanning for clues on the face results in nothing except a brighter devilish glimmer in a loving look. Henceforth, the answer will have to based on personality and all the little things that have been discovered since being in a relationship and now prematurely living together. ‘Electric? Although, no, wait. Fire. Something tells me you at least have a Growlith or had but it has transformed into Arcanine. Then again, judging by that splendid performance of the theme song in your VLive, I’d also wager you have a Pikachu. However, you’re very sporty so maybe you specialize in Fighting types?’

‘You’re on the right track. The answer is somewhere in there.’ Instead of one mocking eyebrow, two rise in a failed attempt to exaggerate coyness while looking cool. ‘Or is it?’

‘Very helpful, Chris.’ Sarcastically disregarding the useless remark and lopsided smirk, the former ramble is composed into a somewhat solid answer. Anywhere close to the truth is better than nothing. ‘You’re a Fire trainer who is also interested in Fighting types.’

‘Almost. I’m a Dragon trainer who always starts out as a Fire trainer. I am, however, also interested in Fighting types too. I do have an Arcanine and Pikachu is an exception to the rule because it’s Pikachu. Every trainer should have one.’

‘I have one too, but it doesn’t have a name since it’s a female and I only name my male Pokémon.’

Focus shifts back to the screen, Chan reading the names of the amiable creatures that form the company on the journey to becoming the best. It started as a fun idea and the names matched fairly well. ‘So I’ve noticed. Are you associating everyone in the industry with a Pokémon?’

But nothing ever runs smoothly.

‘I’m trying, but it’s bloody hard at times. I made Jackson a Pidove. Don’t laugh! I don’t know why I did it, but his name was the first to pop up when I caught it. Baekhyun is an Applin. Wait, he’s transformed already so now he’s a Flapple. Han is a Greedent because, let’s be honest, he’s a squirrel. Changbin, well, Bin is a Corviknight. I gave his full name to a Rufflet. Minho is a Sneasel, Felix a Thievul and I have yet to decide on the rest of the boys.’

‘Which one would be me?’ Judging by the suggestive tone of curious eyes and barely noticeable pout, there is the clear hope of a comparison with an awesome creature. The tightened grip on the hips betrays it too, blatantly so. Almost forcing the unknown comparison to one’s personal preference.

‘Without a doubt, you are Zacian, the giant warrior wolf with a sword in its mouth.’ A deep sigh cannot be helped at the thought of the game’s challenge which does absolutely not allow for failure. ‘The legendary Pokémon of the Galar region. Dammit, Channie! Why do you have to be so elusive and exclusive?’

‘Because I’m an amazing catch.’ The cheek is turned by slender fingers, compelling lips to join in a playful giggly kiss which is broken up by a smug remark. ‘And warriors are not so easily bound to a master. You told me even Beowulf reluctantly helped a king, only to settle his father’s debt.

‘Although,’ the train of thought is easily altered by hooking a digit under the silver necklace that was given as a birthday present, pulling the tease in yet holding off from melting into another kiss by backing away to continue the battle of wits and enjoy the small adorable whine of disagreement, ‘with the right trainer, I suppose I could make a deal.’

‘I plan on winning all gym badges and make myself worthy of the wolf.’

‘You will still have to win in that final fight. Until then, think you can take me on?’ Brows furrow in a suddenly hard-fought battle for concentrated control. Funnily contradicting oneself, the domestic koala shifts positions to hover over the coy soul who was able to tame the beast beneath the roof, faces inches apart and the Switch tucked in the small space between bodies.

Which becomes noticeably narrower when transforming Innocence into Sensuality by creating the image of what might be given after testing out the waters of victory and win in a Pokémon battle. ‘I have more than enough times in this bed.’

To make up for the victory and erase any negative unspoken feelings.

Though the soft growling suggests impatience, unwilling to be kept on a leash any longer. ‘Don’t change the subject. You’re fighting unfairly.’

‘Am I?’ The device is put aside on the bedside table, ankles hooking behind the waist to coax a hard shape into the warmth between the thighs as hands rest on broad shoulders. A much-appreciated action evidently, breath taken away by the friction between two concealed forms of wanting and nails digging into the skin beneath the comfy black printed fleece vest.

And the chest now making escape entirely impossible, hearts racing in harmony. ‘Yes. You’re distracting me.’

‘Says the person who’s distracting me from gaining those badges.’ Enough coherency lingers to remain cheeky. Bashful enough to lean in and utter a final double-sided statement of defiance. ‘I bet I can easily best you.’

But two can play that game, apparently.

‘I think you’re wrong, babygirl. Or do I need to remind you of how good I am?’

‘Grab your Switch and bring it on.’ The challenge is accepted with a scoff which clearly started having different expectations in regards to the order of events. Fortunately, a sweet quick peck cures most of the shallow grumpiness as Chris is dismissed from the sheets. ‘And give me all you’ve got.’

‘Oh, I will. I always do.’

As became apparent in the few battles between teams.

The wolfish actions that followed unspoken hard feelings unhappy with the outcomes of the fights.

And a broken headboard in the morning.

13. Did your detective save A or Sanja? Why do you think they do so? And how are they feeling about the aftermath? (Sanja dying, A getting hurt, both being fine in the end)

Mallory saved Sanja. It was a harder choice than she expected it to be, given that Sanja was their mission and she would technically count as a non-combatant, so her protection would be priority even without the maa-alused treaty in the picture(my girl is nothing if not a protector). But Mallory started flashing back to Murphy jamming a dagger in Adam’s ribs the second she saw him in trouble, so she did actually hesitate the barest fraction of a second(we are not going to talk about the “You need to let go” parallels between here and after the Murphy fight in book one. my heart). That fight and him being so hurt are what finally started her denial of her feelings crumbling into absolute dust... (also gave her big-time PTSD flashbacks, so that was really fun)

14. If your detective did save Sanja, how do they feel about the famous “Tu Omnia”? If they saved A, how are they feeling about them saying that they are glad that they thought of them first? (But, of course, they say they mustn’t feel this way)

...And then hurt, drugged-up Adam admits he’s glad he didn’t have to choose between her and Sanja(implying he’s not sure he would have Made The Right Call) and her heart just about stopped for a minute, before we even get to the Tu Omnia. Which. Oh man. OH MAN. Mallory walked out of that room with her hands shaking and had to lean against the closed door for a minute to get her emotions under control or there were about three different directions of breakdown she might’ve gone. As someone who mutters under her breath in Hebrew a lot when she doesn’t want other people to know what she’s saying, she has a pretty good guess why Adam went to Latin for that (not-so)little confession (too bad for him she knows Latin :3), which is why she doesn’t ever bring it up. (Well, that and me loving the idea of Adam not knowing she understood him until he sees her Latin tattoo and Panicking)

15. What is your detective’s relationship with Rebecca like? If they saw the conversation that she has with A before the end of Book 2, what would they think?

Mallory and Rebecca had a pretty good relationship. They’re not as close as AJ or Janine are to their Rebeccas, but they’re definitely on good terms. I guess it’s more... professional? for Mallory and Rebecca until the beginning of Book 2, when Rebecca says she doesn’t regret the consequences for giving Unit Bravo the DMB to help rescue Mallory. Mallory knows how much her mother loves her job, so that she was willing to risk it for her is when they start moving toward being actual mother-daughter close.

If she’d overheard that conversation.... well, first of all, it would make her smile to hear Rebecca’s proud of her. The rest of it would leave a hollow ache in her chest that she not sure if it’s due to Adam’s denying Rebecca has anything to worry about or how much he struggled with it after Rebecca’s clarification she was asking as a mother.

13. Did your detective save N or Sanja? Why do you think they do so? And how are they feeling about the aftermath? (Sanja dying, N getting hurt, both being fine in the end) Do they regret their decision?

She saved Sanja. Sanja was the one they were there to save, and Nate told her not to worry about him. Didn’t make it easy, by any stretch, and she panicked just a tad when she saw how badly he was hurt as a result. But she didn’t regret it, and she knew Nate wouldn’t either, even before he said as much.

14. What do you think drew your detective to N? And when exactly was the moment, where it was “yes, I like them” (If they’ve admitted that to themselves, of course) And if not, what’s stopping them at this point?

15. What is your detective’s relationship with Rebecca like? If they saw the conversation that she has with N before the end of Book 2, what would they think?

AJ has a really great relationship with Rebecca. They talk whenever they get the chance and she always looks forward to the occasions Rebecca manages to visit. If she’d seen the conversation between Nate and Rebecca at the end of book 2, she first reaction would’ve been indignation that Rebecca could even think Nate would ever hurt her(come on, that’s ridiculous. Right?), followed by near melting into a puddle at his response.

Janine

13. Did your detective save F or Sanja? Why do you think they do so? And how are they feeling about the aftermath? (Sanja dying, F getting hurt, both being fine in the end) Do they regret their decision?

Sanja, but oh my god, it was so much harder for her than anyone else.Even if saving Sanja was the reason they were there, she had to force herself to do it instead of saving Felix. And then he got hurt so bad and Janine was an absolute wreck until the doctor assured them he’d be okay. Absolutely cuddled and was Big Spoon bc her protective instincts were in overdrive.She doesn’t regret saving Sanja, but she does regret that Felix got hurt, even if he is a vampire with healing abilities and was fine by morning.

14. What do you think drew your detective to F? And when exactly was the moment, where it was “yes, I like them” (If they’ve admitted that to themselves, of course) And if not, what’s stopping them at this point?

Definitely how joyful he is, and how heart-on-sleeve, no holds barred, infectiously open he is about it. He’s fun to spend time with, makes her smile(and trip over her words, which is no mean feat), and never holds back from complimenting people he cares about(She gets a lot of that, but there’s also the super casual, “Oh yeah, Nate knows, like all the languages” type ones, where even if he’s teasing in the process, he’s still complimenting someone from UB). She knew she liked him by the whole vampire reveal in book 1, was about 60% sure she was in love by the unicorn necklace, 80% by time they actually started dating, and is 98% sure she’s in love by the end of book 2.

15. What is your detective’s relationship with Rebecca like? If they saw the conversation that she has with F before the end of Book 2, what would they think?

Very close(all my girls love their mama. If I had to rank it though, it’s AJ->Janine->Mallory->Kasey), mostly through effort on Janine’s part thanks to how busy Rebecca is. She’ll call and leave a message if Rebecca can’t talk, just “Hey, Mum, wanted to say hi [insert something about her day] and let you know I love you.” type things.That conversation? Ohgod. You want her reaction before or after she melted into a Detective-shaped puddle at “When we kiss she doesn’t break. She smiles.”? XD That was... that was adorable and she’d be walking around grinning the entire rest of the night, not even remembering anything else she overheard.

Kasey

Sanja, again. (look I love her. And the vamps all have healing, it’s fine. Bonus: juicy, juicy ANGST) Mason said not to worry about him, and Sanja was clearly in big trouble, being restrained and all. Even if Mason wasn’t exactly in a good position, at least he could fight back. Sanja couldn’t. Afterward there’s this weird twisty feeling almost like guilt that she hides under sarcasm and giving him shit(teasing him by kissing just the corner of his mouth)

She’s on okay terms with Rebecca. They’re not super close, but they get along and she’ll hug her when she sees her.

If she’d overheard that conversation, her first thought would probably have been along the lines of “Damn straight I’m not sorry” bc she’d be thinking just in reference to the flirting/sex and she’s enjoyed both of those things immensely. Then she’d maybe think about Rebecca’s tone and wonder for juuuust a second if there was a deeper meaning before brushing it off.

“why are crushes so difficult?”

this was kim seungmin’s dilemma.

he flops down on his best friend’s bed, glaring at the romance movie posters plastered on the walls.

“what’s so difficult about them, minnie? they’re fun! you get butterflies and blushy and you start trying to write poetry...all that fun stuff?” his best friend, hwang hyunjin, didn’t even look up from his notes to speak.

hyunjin was the sappiest, most love-filled person seungmin knew. he loved romance movies and dating and being in love.

seungmin, on the other hand, had never had a crush before. sure, he’s been attracted to people, but no …. poetic thoughts.

“p-poetry?”

“yeah. do you….oh my god.” hyunjin stood from his desk chair, “do you write poetry about y/n?”

“n-no!”

“KIM SEUNGMIN.” and he pounced. he landed right next to seungmin on the bed, hands coming out to smack at the younger boy as he squealed.

“show it to me, show it to me!!!! i’m your best friend, minnie!”

then you entered the cafeteria and your friends’ eyes immediately went ZOOM on your interlocked hands

“W-W-W-WHAT IS THIS?” jeongin, the poor baby, spluttered

“are you out of the loop? they’re in love!” jisung was practically shooting heart eyes at the two of you

“no one tells me anything.” jeongin pouted

“are we Not In Love, jisung.”

“jinnie u know i love you but this is FRESH and it’s FUN let me ogle.”

felix just smiled at you two, patting the space next to him, “i always knew this was gonna happen.”

“what are you losers talking about?” seungmin asked.

“yeah, nothing happened. seungmin and i are just friends.”

“he hasn’t asked me out yet.” you shrugged, pulling your lunch box out of your backpack.

seungmin gasped, dropping your hand to cover his heart, “do i have to?”

“i deserve it, you animal. i’ve only been waiting since middle school.”

MIDDLE SCHOOL???

well, this was a shock.

“MIDDLE SCHOOL???”

“yeah? you kicked that dude in the shin for me. it was nice. no one’s ever done that for me before.”

“t-the shins? you started liking him over a shin kick, y/n?” felix deadpanned.

“i was like 13 can you shut the fuck up? i don’t just like him because he kicked a guy in the shins for me.”

“oh? why else do you like him?”

“we’re not having this conversation right now, jeongin.”

“oh hell yes we are.”

“Okay! i like him because he’s...just a good guy. like he’s smart and he’s funny and he’s….really cute and he would probably kick jisung in the shin if i asked him to.”

“hey what no- OW SEUNGMIN!” jisung whined, pulling his leg up on the seat

“jisung no.”

you grinned, looking over at seungmin.

he was already looking, and you could practically See the heart eyes he was sending you.

did it make you super flustered? yeah. did you mind? not really.

“so,” you leaned in closer, speaking quiet enough so that your friends couldn’t hear over whatever they were yelling about this time, “you gonna ask me out or not?”

“i’ll walk you home?”

“i’ll be waiting.”

the rest of the day went by Painfully slow

but after your last class, there he was !!!!

and he was walking you home !!!

and he held your hand !!!!

“let me get something from my house real quick.” seungmin lived closer to the school than you did, so you always passed by his house.

you waited on the porch while he ran outside

he came back in a minute, flushed and holding a folded piece of paper.

“here.” he shoved the paper in your hand, taking your free hand in his and dragging you along.

“MINNIE let me read this!!!!” you whined.

he sighed, stopping on the sidewalk to let you read it clearly.

you had to reread a few lines because they were just so pretty.

you didn’t expect something like this from seungmin, he was usually so direct and not so flowery.

but it was beautiful.

“why are you crying WHAT’S WRONG IS IT BAD-”

“SEUNGMIN HHHHHHH” you launched yourself at him, wrapping your arms tightly around his waist.

and he held you just back as tightly.

“so uh. do you wanna like….go out with me or something?”

“yes, you big dummy. i would love to.”
