WIBTA for profiting off of a genocide if im also taking action against it?
yes, this is about palestine. i'm an american nonblack poc (not palestinian) and im pro palestine. i have a knack for jewelry and crafts and stuff so i made some pins and necklaces and patches of the flags/colors etc for myself to show my support for palestine. i had dropped jewelry making a while ago and getting back into it is fun and i want to support palestine so i want to keep making them.
however, this takes time and money, and when i make the stuff...well it just doesnt make sense for me to wear five different necklaces of a similar style even if the pattern is different. i don't have any friends to give them to and my family members are either zionists or "staying neutral". i considered giving them away but idk how to do that efficiently and without it being weird? and also i dont really want to give my hard work and supplies to random people.
would i be an asshole for selling my stuff? i would keep the prices fair, probably like a dollar per item for supplies costs and then like 8 or 9 dollars per hour i spend on them (usually half an hour/an hour per item). so like 5-10 dollars. im a broke college student so this would help me out, but im not starving or anything. mostly i just want fair compensation for my work.
i have bought from palestinian shops, donated to urnwa, put up posters, discussed the issue with people irl, contacted representatives, etc. ive done pretty much everything im able to do in support of the cause. i was thinking about donating a portion of the sales to various palestinian orgs or something?
tldr: is it ok for me to make items in support of palestine and make money off it if i use the money for both personal use and to donate back to palestine?
What are these acronyms?

Notes on Rebuilding Fandom
(a condensed write-up of my notes from a Pemmi-Con NASFiC panel)
The greying of fandom. Falling attendance. Conventions closing or going on "temporary" hiatus post-pandemic. This discussion tries to examine the issues and come up with some solutions. Should we even try and consider just bowing out gracefully?
I think the major irony of this session was where it was held. The 2023 Pemmi-Con North American Science Fiction Convention was, people tell me, quite poorly run. The panel discussion included many specific actions that other cons commonly do, which Pemmi-Con did not do.
(The question of whether it was this con specifically, or whether this con-running crew is competent to run any con, is a conversation that I'll leave to correspondents more embedded in the Canadian SFF fandom scene. I'm relatively new to the organized SFF fandom, and I'm lacking context.)
So let's talk about the state of the Speculative Fiction Fandom:
Fans today are more often interested in specific fandoms, not general-content or genre fandom
Fanzines are dying out; there's a history of bad-apple editors and editors who retire
Yet there are many conventions which are topical to Speculative Fiction, or topical to Fandom-writ-large, which are growing rapidly and drawing record crowds.
The question opening the panel was, "how can we get kids-these-days to be the sort of fans we were?" which I added 🤔😅🙃 to, and so did many members of the audience and panel.
The response question was, "how can we adapt organized fandom to meet kids-these-days where they are?" Many expressed the sentiment that fandom changes over time, so the organized fandom must change to adapt.
Also raised was the question of demographics. Yes, Fandom is greying. It will continue greying, one year per year, until we defeat death and become immortal. To keep the average age low, recruitment is necessary. But how do you recruit younguns to get interested in the Traditional Speculative Fiction Fandom events?
A number of strategies were identified in the panel:
Rebuild mutual support: It used to be the case that con-organizing organizations were many. Now they are few. With this dwindling in number has come a dwindling of mutual-support opportunities. It used to be the case that different orgs would help each other run events. This is a dwindling case. Someone has to offer first; let your org do it.
Make in-person events attractive: Before the Internet, it was harder to be a Fan. Without an established in-person fannish presence, you were a loner. Fandom conventions were the sole way to sate your urge for fannish socialization. Nowadays, Fandom is like any other niche social group: It's really easy to find compatriots from the comfort of your home, and you don't have to travel to have a meeting of the minds. Look at the successful in-person events to determine what draws people: novelty, merch sales and swaps, in-person competitions, event exclusives, photoshoots.
Outreach: You're running a generic con? Great! Find all the specific cons and specific fandom groups and ask them to panel and attend. If you're running a scifi con and haven't invited the local chapters of the 501st, the Rebel Legion, the 405th, the Royal Manticoran Navy, the 1701st, Mandalorian Mercs, cause-players, any local university clubs, and any local anime or furry conventions, then you're doing organizing wrong.
Advertise: This one is multifaceted, and had a lot of comments in response to Pemmi-Con. Notable points: Publish your schedule early enough that people can buy tickets and book a hotel room because they know there's a panel they want to attend. Publish your schedule early enough that your panelists know they're going to be paneling. Do badge swaps, table swaps, and pamphlet swaps with other cons, so that you can advertise at each other's con. Do this especially at cons local to your city, and at Big Cons. Continually expand your comms infrastructure until every attendee has a reasonable chance of seeing every important update.
Multimedia: If you're going to have hybrid panels, make sure that the remote panelists have good audio before the session starts. Provide slide deck editing services, to make sure that text can be read from the back of the room. Position your projectors so that the display is large enough and not canted.
Experiment with format: Not everyone wants to go to spend a weekend in panels getting lectured by grey-haired white people, or sing the same filk songs again. Mix it up. Pemmi-Con had a legitimately interesting innovation: a pinball tournament. One of the most-popular John Scalzi events at Chicon 8 was the dance he DJ'd. Anime con photoshoots are hugely attended. Board game conventions are similarly popular. Host an AMV contest. Run a room that's just a TV clip show. Have a library room, like the Carolina Manga Library. In addition to Masquerade, run a cosplay critique panel, and run it on multiple days so that people can bring different costumes to it. Do the fukcing Ribbon Game.
Look to the future: A lot of Traditional SFF Fandom is about the past. But some of the most-highly-attended panels at Anime and Games cons are about the future: things which are in the pipeline for next season or next year. Already-funded Kickstarters. Already-signed series. Do that at your Traditional SFF panels.
Train the next generation: Recruit volunteers, and when they tell you they have a better way to do things, don't turn them down immediately. If there's a reason, explain the reason. If their idea is good, adopt it. They're trying to make things better. If you drive out the next generation of con-runners, there won't be a next generation of cons.

Your mom is a tech ninja
Tumblr media
What makes someone “good at technology?” In part, it’s an understanding of the underlying technical principles and industry conventions — what a “power on” icon looks like, say. I have a lot of that. But there’s another component, one that’s often invisible to people like me: the extent to which your technology was designed to suit your needs.
I have a lot of that, too. I’m a 50 year old, middle-class, tech-industry adjacent professional man with an honorary PhD in computer science. Not only do tech designers think like and about me when they create new products — they often ask me what I think I need.
Several times per year, I’ll get on a call with product managers and researchers at both big and small tech companies to discuss some planned product. I am good at tech, but tech is also good at me. It doesn’t just meet me halfway — it bends over backwards to meet my needs.
Some years ago, I joined the advisory board for Simply Secure, a nonprofit that helps tech designers build strong security tools that are intended to be usable by non-technical people.
https://simplysecure.org/
In my first call with the org’s founder, Meredith Whittaker, I suggested a slogan for the products we helped with: “So easy, even your boss can use them.” You see, I’ve been an IT manager, and in that rule, I’ve had to institute security policies, like minimum standards for passwords, mandatory VPN usage, and other important (but often cumbersome) measures.
In these circumstances, I always did my best to explain to my co-workers that these measures were not me being high-handed or sadistic, loading them up with pointless busywork. I tried really hard — with pretty good success — to convey the rationale behind these measures and the risk I was trying to mitigate.
This isn’t just a matter of being respectful to the people I was working to protect, it was also key to that protection — when people don’t accept security measures, they circumvent them. As this amazing ethnography of security-bypassing medical professionals puts it, “You Want My Password or a Dead Patient?”
https://www.cs.dartmouth.edu/~sws/pubs/ksbk15-draft.pdf
It’s really important to get rank-and-file workers to understand why you’re asking them to endure the inconvenience of a security measure, but it’s far more important to get your boss to understand this. After all, even if your co-workers don’t buy in, you have some authority to mandate their cooperation, whereas your boss gets to override you.
Everyone who’s worked in security has had experience with this: you get a call from the CEO like, “Look, Poindexter, I don’t give a monkey’s asshole about the VPN or whatever. I need to download a presentation to raise the capital to pay your salary, and as soon as the kid in the lobby of this Comfort Inn is done Reddit shitposting on the shared lobby iMac, I need to download that file to this USB stick I found in the parking lot of an Arby’s and transfer it to my laptop. Make it happen!”
This is why I suggested “So easy your boss can use it,” as a replacement for the odious “So easy your mom can use it.” Bosses have the social clout to force the universe to rearrange itself to your comfort.
Moms, not so much.
Tech designers are notoriously indifferent to the needs of moms — and other marginalized users — when they plan their products. The emblem of this was the Honeywell Kitchen Computer, a $10,600 recipe-organzing database system the size of a kitchen counter, offered for sale in the 1969 Nieman-Marcus Christmas catalog:
https://www.wired.com/2012/11/kitchen-computer/
The men who designed this computer didn’t ask their wives — whose nightly dinner-cooking duties they set out to automate — whether they needed a $10,000, 100lb recipe organizer that you queried by punched paper tape. Not one unit sold.
Everything your mom does with a computer is twice as hard as the things that I do with a computer. Even if your mom gets more consideration from product designers today than she did in 1969, I’m getting more consideration. When I use a computer, I’m playing the game of life on the lowest difficulty setting:
https://whatever.scalzi.com/2022/05/18/straight-white-male-the-lowest-difficulty-setting-ten-years-on/
But as easy as things are for me, they’re even easier for your boss, who doesn’t just play on the lowest setting — your boss gets to play in God Mode. They get highest-level access to company systems and they get to ignore the security policies their underlings must obey.
Hence IFL Science’s study of CEO passwords for Nordpass, which found that the median CEO uses a password that is “startlingly dumb,” in the phraseology of the headline for PC Gamer’s article on the study, by Katie Wickens:
https://www.pcgamer.com/the-passwords-most-used-by-ceos-are-startlingly-dumb/
The study analyzed 290 million data-breaches and clustered the leaked passwords by job title, finding that the most popular passwords for the highest-ranking employees were typical of the worst password choices: “123456,” “picture1,” “password,” and names like “Tiffany,” as well as mythological animals like “Dragon.”
These passwords aren’t worse than the median breached password, but they should be better. With great power comes great responsibility, after all. C-Suite Impersonations are extremely dangerous to companies — forged emails from top execs have led to millions of losses at a swoop, when the impersonator orders an underling to transfer millions to pay a bogus invoice.
https://www.batesgroup.com/publications/joic-02-2017-0001.pdf
It’s a safe bet that the IT managers who work for these execs know about the risk of C-Suite account takeovers, and it’s a sure bet that the execs who chose these bad passwords had heard advice about choosing strong passwords. But unlike your mom, your boss gets to overrule IT policies.
Passwords suck and they’re hard to do well. You (and your mom, and your boss) should be using a password manager and using a different, strong, randomly generated password for every service.
https://www.eff.org/dice
You should also turn on two-factor authentication for every service, using either a hardware token or a standalone 2FA app (not SMS!):
https://ssd.eff.org/en/module/how-enable-two-factor-authentication
Meanwhile, let’s normalize saying, “So easy my boss can use it” and banish “so easy my mom can use it” to the scrapheap of history.

Hello
Assault rifle is only for military, because it is select fire meaning it is either semiautomatic, burst, or full automatic.
All rifles are semiautomatic. The school shooter used a semiautomatic rifle, not an assault rifle. There are many manufacturers in the USA and the world who make and sell semiautomatic rifles. USA also imports rifles from European manufacturers.
Also, pistols account for more than 50% of all gun crime. Rifles are 3%, shotguns are 1%, and the rest is "other" which means a firearm was not found or could not be determined etc.
54% of firearm related deaths are suicide.
You should also know that the states with the highest firearm deaths are also majority black, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Missouri. Black people commit more than 50% of firearm crime in the USA, with pistols. It's gang crime, related to poverty, and just simple stupidity (dummies commit crimes lol)
Mass shootings, where 1 person goes and targets a group of people, are uncommon - FBI says there were only 38 in 2020. However, gun-grabbing news sites like Every town or whatever says there are hundreds of mass shootings every year. They don't publish any demographics, such as race, age, and gender, because it is ALWAYS gang related violence. Trans ginger people are not under attack lol, kids are not under attack. Black people are not under attack.
Dummies do school shootings because they are truly mentally unwell and desire attention and to make people mad. Like what do you think the trans gendered person's goal was with the school shooting? Do you think she felt marginalized by the world? Probably, because she is unhappy with herself. Very radicalized view of self and the world. She victimized herself so hard that she believed the only way to get her point across was to kill people.
But yeah, look up firearm related deaths from kff . Org, fbi . Gov, Rand . Org, and Pew . Org. Look at demographics, states, ages, etc... Mass shootings aren't statistically a reason for firearm related deaths.
I am sorry if I don't vomit all the FBI and CDC facets into each document where I discuss or theorize the probabilities of mass shootings or smaller scale shootings, such as domestic violence and disputes. Much like the people who unprompted conduct a mass shooting event, I don't pursue a degree in gun. I just analyze the publications of the criminology through the mentioned FBI, and I believe CDC has some tie-ins to these ratios, since they refer to them as well as epidemics - given that mental health falls under the events.
I acknowledge there's a lot to unpack and pack up and unpack all over again. And we can even bake this, or set it aside to ferment for a bit, the point being in America we're supposed to be working on these issues in spite of our failures.
But that is another aspect of the narrative we should look at. Working with gun merchants and enthusiasts regarding weapon sales, understanding better the caliber of weapons sought for these events, and smaller events - is someone has the desire to conduct a smaller scale crime with a weapon, understand the psychology and motives behind it - same as with deranged people who seek the bloat of 5-minute fame with an assault rifle caliber for high death, and inducing terror. In both cases these people are violent, their crimes are violent, but the psychology and objectives for both are different. In most cases, the one targeting the grocery store or the elementary school does so with the acknowledgment they will die.
"Mass shootings, where 1 person goes and targets a group of people, are uncommon - FBI says there were only 38 in 2020."
And studying the website linked to you analysis, approximately 513 (4-deaths per event). The main factor that severs the relation between suicide to gun, gun related violence or gang violence, and then that of the mass shooting event, is that the latter is typically unprompted by the recipient.
Gang violence should not be happening, but those involved are not oblivious to the violence and dangers. Yet again, people who should not have guns have either taken them from a possessor of a weapon, or bought one through a vendor of weapons.
Suicide is a tragedy, and it demands more work on mental health here in the Nation, but a suicide is typically privatized to ones immediate family and rarely involves others.
Mass shooting events - those that factor at least 3 people slain, persist as a tragedy since it involves one person inciting terror onto others. Victims of the shooter are not sought specifically, there is no objective to the event aside from target and kill whatever moves - in this case, children. Or a club full of LGBTQ+. Or a demographic of colored people at the store buying groceries.
The shooter isn't slaying people because it's personal, it's business. It's a process of culling. It's the act of imprinting a message or invisible injury onto the ones who have to receive news that their loved one isn't coming home.
And 513 involved in a violent, terror attack is a lot. People argue, "Oh, the numbers are so low, it won't happen to you or me."
As if the lives loss are just typical collateral, which is a big deal. People are desensitized by numbers, 513 is just a number, it's profits, it's how many guns we sold this month, that's the amount of recalls our store had for inventory.
Mass shootings happen to people who left their house with a grocery list. Or they left their house with a lunchbox, with a note inside that said "Love you sweety". That number has someone's grandma, who was picking out potatoes in the produce aisle. It was someone ordering a drink, and hanging with friends at the end of a long work week. The number was once a picture on the wall. It was once someone trying to pick out a backpack and pencils, for their kids first day of school.
republicans don't care that the numbers were once people, who were out on a mundane errand to buy sugar. It's becoming acceptable collateral - and profitable for the NRA - for people who have no prior association with the murder, to be slain while they are out in their community, just living.
And we can sit here and look at the graphs and the lines, argue about which gun is better in what scenario, or the preferred weapon of a mass shooter, or the caliber, or technicalities among the mountains of guns we piled into a document on some website - none of that progresses towards mitigation. None of that narrates, "We're working on it." The human factor is a confounding wrench in the machine, but rather than take it out and try to patch the damage, we've written 500 schematics on how the machine was not the most profitable in the assembly line.
We're discussing all the ways around a word salad, then don't take the step towards addressing issues. And republicans always blame everything under the sun - religion, fences, vaccines, mental health, a vulnerable youth - then dispense a truck load of more weapons into the capita of the population.
Every time there's a mass shooting, a gunphilic buys a rifle. At this point guns are not manufactured, they're bred.
And the multitude of times the Democrats cave and want to play by the republican prescribed method of prevention - funding for fences, commissioning armed guards for school - the republicans can't vote to budget. They rather ban books and dumb down the learning curriculum, and then make the kids run military style drills. And then the "Thoughts and Prayers" when kids don't make it home.

First Chinese Flying Drone Taxis From EHang Already Available on Taobao - Technology Org
According to Reuters, Chinese drone manufacturer EHang Holdings has starter the sale of its EH216-S model flying taxi on Taobao, priced at 2.39 million yuan ($332,060).
EH216-S during a test flight. Image credit: EHang
The company received safety approval certification from China’s aviation authority in October last year. This development then marked a significant milestone in its journey towards commercial deployment.
EHang Holdings, headquartered in Guangzhou, previously obtained “type certificate” from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) for its 216-S model.
The EH216-S is equipped with 16 rotors and has the capacity to accommodate two passengers, boasting speeds of up to 130 kilometers per hour and a maximum range of 30 kilometers.
Why flying taxis are based on drone tech?
Flying taxis are indeed based on drone technology.
Firstly, they utilize vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) capabilities, enabling them to operate in urban areas without the need for traditional runways.
Additionally, flying taxis often incorporate electric propulsion systems, offering reduced noise levels, lower emissions, and increased efficiency compared to conventional engines.
Also, drone technology integrates advanced autonomous flight control systems, including GPS navigation and obstacle avoidance sensors, allowing flying taxis to operate autonomously or semi-autonomously. This enhances safety and reduces the reliance on human piloting skills.
Furthermore, drones are typically compact and lightweight, making them well-suited for navigating tight spaces and congested airspace in urban environments.
The scalability and cost-effectiveness of drone technology also make it an attractive choice for flying taxis. It allows for the development of taxis in various sizes and configurations to accommodate different passenger capacities and mission requirements.
The use of drone technology lowers operating costs compared to traditional aircraft, which makes flying taxis a more economically viable transportation solution.

Get Woke, Gain Earned Media Coverage
Get woke go broke, rhymes. It is, however, a stupid criticism nearly every time I've heard it applied to a company's advertising. The exceptions are when the criticism of wokeness is a criticism of the messaging and placement. Or when a company is truly ideologically motivated, but the latter is rare.
In almost every example of ad people call "woke," the business has no company-wide ideology. People at companies have ideologies and may push a firm toward their morality. But Disney or Procter & Gamble are too large and complex as organizations, having too many moving parts to be truly ideological.
When a publicly traded company, with a board of directors and many layers of executives, does something, it's generally smoothed into whatever the decision-makers believe benefits them. Their incentives are aligned with the company making money to pay out shareholder dividends. Charitably this is an imperfect system, but it also means any perceived ideology, woke or otherwise, is a hollow commitment.
Target
Pride Month is June. For the last few years that means each June, Target will greet everyone with a display for cardboard rainbows holding forth gay apparel, fa la la la, la la, la la.
Target has LGBTQ+ employees and allies up and down the org chart. But the pride displays are because the items sell at a profit. It's a sign of cultural acceptance that the LGBTQ+ market segments are so far out of the closet they can be openly catered to by a company that wants money.
The hand full of people flipping out on social media over the rainbow vomit wokeness are, generally speaking, free advertising. Were Target a single location store in rural Texas it may not work. But Target is a top 10 retailer by size, and at scale, the lunatic's freaking out help the bottom line.
Bud Light
Bud Light hired Dylan Mulvaney for a promotion. Mulvaney is trans, and while famous, not Beyoncé famous. Also, Mulvaney is not the kind of person normally associated with Bud Light, causing some uproar. The buzz has probably been incredible for Bud Light directly, but certainly for AB InBev.
Bud Light is a joke among many; It's the water of beers. It's cat piss in a glass. It's also the top-selling beer in the US for 2022, 2021, 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016, and I stopped looking. Bud Light can handle people posting social media videos of them shooting the blue cans.
All the social media attention is giving a mid-tier influencer's brand partnership, Beyoncé levels of awareness. The rants and media coverage will make some thirsty for beer. Some may even want to support bud light. Others won't buy a Bud Light or a Budweiser; they know better get woke go broke after all!
But the people, now thirsty for beer, may pick up some similarly priced beer from Michelob Ultra, Stella Artois, Busch Beer, Natural Light, Landshark, Shock Top, Hoegaarden, or one of the other brands owned by AB InBev. AB InBev doesn't hold all the beer, but they own a lot. Carlsberg Group, Molson Coors, and Heineken will benefit from the Bud Light outrage.
The biggest threat to beer right now, is perceived as hard seltzer. If Mulvaney has gotten people talking about beer, AB InBev will make money. And that's the goal, profit.
True Ideology
Few to none of the woke companies people point to are ideologically motivated. They deserve neither praise nor rage for wokeness. Some companies are truly moving due to ideology.
Look at B&H Photo, they aren't a woke example, but you'll understand what I mean. The company is owned and operated by Hasidic or Orthodox Jews who keep Shabbos. So bhphotovideo.com does not process orders from sundown on Friday to sunset on Saturday.
What about Chick-fil-A? Despite an apparent 2019 PR push saying Chick-fil-A loses 14% in revenue from closing on Sunday, the math was stupid. The churchy chicken chain earns more per restaurant than any other fast food joint.
Closed on Sunday drives a volume of sales on Saturday and Monday. The spike (from limited data) for Chick-fil-A's sales is well above the expected baseline set by comparing competing restaurants. Consider shoutouts from the evangelical pulpits Chick-fil-A gets, and closing on Sunday is a marketing strategy, not a moral stance.
Bad Ads
So why do some woke ads fail if every large company, including privately owned Chick-fil-A, is just in it for money? Because some ads are ineffective.
The first time I heard "get woke, go broke," it was over a Gillette ad. The ad's messaging missed any reasonable mark. It spoke neither to the primary buyers of the products nor the primary consumers.
As I've written before, the "look at your man" Old Spice ads were brilliant because they addressed women with a male significant other. At that time, at least, that demographic was the primary buyer of men's toiletries.
The Gillette toxic masculinity ad started by pivoting the established company slogan, asking, "Is this the best a man can get?" Saying "the best a man can get" is a statement about product quality. The other is asking, "can't men be better?"
It reminded me of the Globo Gym ad from the film Dodgeball. "Tired of being overweight and under attractive?" Come out to the gym, you useless waste of human flesh. Generally speaking, shaming people doesn't drive sales.
If the Gillette ad used the same opener about toxic masculinity, switching to a montage of clips of Fred Rogers, Jim Henson, Steve Irwin, and LeVar Burton, ending with "the best a man can get" tagline, the ad would have been more effective. The ad was just bad.
Disclosures: Via agencies and production companies, Mason Pelt worked with Bud Light (Graphics for Bud Light Bands) in 2012 and Gillette (YouTube Channel Management) in 2013-14.

Microsoft Introduced Copilot for Finance, More AI Tools in Plans for Other Industries - Technology Org
New Post has been published on https://thedigitalinsider.com/microsoft-introduced-copilot-for-finance-more-ai-tools-in-plans-for-other-industries-technology-org/
Microsoft Introduced Copilot for Finance, More AI Tools in Plans for Other Industries - Technology Org
Microsoft unveiled an artificial intelligence tool, Microsoft Copilot for Finance, designed specifically for finance departments of different companies.
Copilot for Finance – illustrative image. Credit: Microsoft
This move is part of Microsoft’s broader strategy to develop specialized software catering to various industries, professions, and individual needs.
The new tool aims to assist users in reviewing data sets for potential risks, generating reports from raw data, and handling tasks that they might typically outsource. Microsoft did not disclose pricing details or a specific release date for wider availability.
Microsoft’s Copilot strategy extends to other professions, with similar AI tools already introduced for salespeople and customer-service representatives, typically priced at $20 per user per month in addition to subscription fees for the required software, such as the $30 Copilot for Microsoft 365.
According to Emily He, a corporate vice president at Microsoft, future Copilots may be tailored for marketing and supply-chain functions.
Microsoft is intensifying its competition with Salesforce by expanding its AI offerings to handle sales and service tasks. This move comes in response to Salesforce’s recent announcement of Einstein Copilot, a competing AI assistant focusing on sales and customer service.
Microsoft showcased its AI capabilities during a media briefing in San Francisco, illustrating how the technology could assist customers in tasks like email generation, drawing data from both Microsoft’s CRM systems and those of Salesforce.
Charles Lamanna, a corporate vice president at Microsoft, emphasized that Copilot could potentially reduce sellers’ reliance on CRM systems, as the AI tool could automatically update and retrieve information from these systems on their behalf. While CRM systems will still be in use, Lamanna hinted at potential changes in the business models supporting them.
