ELVIS' DEBUT ON TV — 📺 [CBS] The Dorsey Brothers 'Stage Show'
Tumblr media
Elvis with Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey at CBS Studio 50, New York, March 17, 1956 [that would be Elvis' 5th appearance on their TV show, out of 6 total.].
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
By December 1955 Elvis had still not made an appearance on national television. His manager Colonel Tom Parker negotiated a deal through Steve Yates with CBS's "Stage Show" for four appearances on the show in January 1956 at $1,250 each and an option for two more at $1,500 each.
On the January 28, 1956, Elvis was broadcast for the nation for the very first time, performing "Shake, Rattle and Roll", "Flip, Flop and Fly" and "I Got a Woman".

[ABOVE: the January 28th 1956 FULL PERFORMANCE]
On Elvis' first appearance on American television, Bill Randle, one of the most influential disc jockeys of the time, was the man who actually presented Elvis Presley to the nation. He said:
"We'd like at this time to introduce to you a young fellow, who like many performers, Johnnie Ray among them, come up out of nowhere to be overnight very big stars. This young fellow we met for the first time while making a movie short*. We think tonight that he's going to make television history for you. We'd like you to meet him now - Elvis Presley. And here he is!" — Bill Randle, Disc Jockey, the man presenting Elvis Presley to America for the first time. January 28, 1956.
After this, things would never be the same, specially the society. Such a good beginning for a year, that special day in a January month! ♥
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
🎞️THE SHORT-FILM THAT NEVER SAW THE LIGHT OF DAY (for the general public... at least until now...)
The movie short Bill Randle referred to during his introduction to Elvis was "The Pied Piper Of Cleveland - A Day In The Life Of A Famous Disc Jockey" a short film made by Universal pictures about Bill Randle himself. Filmed on October 20th, 1955, at a concert in Brooklyn High School, Cleveland, it featured the stars Bill Haley & The Comets, The Four Lads, Pat Boone, plus the addition of a little-known Elvis Presley.
The original forty-eight-minute film was supposed to be cut down to a twenty-minute "short" for national distribution, but never made it that far. We're in 2024... 69 years went by since this shortcut was produced but the movie remains unreleased.
There is some dispute over whether or not this film actually exists, although it's said it was shown publicly, albeit only once in Cleveland, and excerpts were also aired on a Cleveland television station in 1956. Marshall Lytle, bass player for Bill Haley's Comets, corroborates the existence of the film in his memoir, "Still Rockin' Around the Clock", but he makes the unsubstantiated claim that Colonel Tom Parker, Presley's manager, bought the film and destroyed the existing copies. According to historians, tho, DJ Bill Randle, before his death in 2004, sold the rights to the film to PolyGram (it has been reported that Universal Studios has the negatives of the film in its vaults).
Much uncertainty about this short film, but can you imagine this film being release in Elvis' birthday centenary celebration? We watched, and listened, on Elvis' 89th birthday a few days earlier this year, to them playing during his birthday celebration at Graceland the original "That's All Right" record as it was cut at Sun Records studio in 1954, so who knows? There's always rare things surfacing here and there, so... we better keep our hopes this Bill Randle's 1955 movie, with some new 'baby Elvis' footage, will be release any day now [such as we know there's 'Elvis On Tour' and 'Elvis: That's the Way It Is' never seen before footage coming our way, as confirmed by the "Elvis" 2022 biopic's film director, Baz Luhrmann — finally! We hope it will be released soon].
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
But enough daydreaming... Back to Elvis' 1st television appearances.
After the premiere on America's television on January 28th, 1956, Elvis would do five more appearances on 'The Dorsey Brothers Stage Show" for the next eight weeks. Those would take place on February 4, February 11, February 18, March 17 and March 24th, 1956.

* This is the usual arrangement for the "Heartbreak Hotel" song. On February 11th, 1956, Elvis performed this same song onstage of 'The Dorsey Brothers Show' but it sounded something more… dramatic (I guess it matched the lyrics after all, but I love the usual arrangement better yet).

And the last one... the 6th appearance on 'Dorsey Brothers Stage Show':
March 24th, 1956 | "Money Honey" and "Heartbreak Hotel" | [FULL PERFORMANCE]

We can see how on those first TV shows Elvis still looks quite shy. Although he moves the usual lot, he doesn't flirt with his audience as much as he would on the upcoming TV appearances (and throughout his life, actually). It's funny how he grew comfortable with being in front of the cameras so fast tho. As his photographer Wiliam Speer said, "I guess you must really like being photographed."

EDIT: THE BLUE MOON BOYS
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I hate it when I forget to mention such important, trivial, facts — and this shouldn't be footnote info and I feel guilty it is now but I forgot mentioning — The Blue Moon Boys. I love them so much! I watch those footage looking at them as much as I look at Elvis.
Like, I love Bill Black's energy onstage! I love him hollering, vibing to their sound, as loud as Elvis (on occasion). I love how he seem to love chewing gum (Bill is chewing gum in some of those footage), because it makes me look at the Blue Moon Boys and Elvis as a unit, real close friend who look alike, just how it should be. We know although EP for obvious reasons can't chew gum while singing, he loooooved gum and kept this - should I say "habit?" - throughout his life. It's sounding silly what I'm saying, I know, but I think this Elvis habit in fact date from back when he was rocking onstage with Bill, Scotty and DJ Fontana and it makes my heart warm how close and similar they seem to be, as friends, real friends. Bill is actually said to be the one cheering the crowds onstage when they first begun performing, when Elvis was still learning how to be the great leading man he became. When EP was still learning how to act onstage, how to manipulate the audience, creating the mad passionate reactions he learned to create whenever he wanted, Bill was the one heating things up, joking with the audience, cheering, hollering. Bill is amazing! His energy is intoxicating, and we can see it clearly on those first TV appearances performances. ♥
--
I also love how hot Scotty Moore looks! I kinda laughed thinking 'Oh my goodness' ... So this thing about rock and roll bands always having hot vocalists and hot guitar players as a rule, it looks like it all started from the 50s with EP and Scotty! (really, at least the singer and guitar player in most rock bands are hot AF, am I lying? *lol*). I have a thing for Scotty... When he smiles at times on those footage, I'm like: 🤤🥹🥴🫠 And I also love how he's elegant but at the same time menacing looking holding and playing his guitar like the guitar hero he was. Really, if you haven't yet, do yourself a favor and read Scotty's book "THAT'S ALL RIGHT, ELVIS: The Untold Story of Elvis' First Guitarist and Manager, Scotty Moore", by Scotty as told to James Dickerson (1997). Scotty's life story is fascinating and as interesting as Elvis'. ♥
--
And last, but never least, I love how together, calm and concentrated DJ Fontana looks. Ok, unfortunately being the drummer has it's disadvantages. We can't see DJ Fontana as much as we see the other boys onstage, but I listen to the songs until the very last minute and it's amazing how the music always has the closing, the important and dramatic ending, done by DJ's talented hands. I love that guy. ♥
Elvis Presley and The Blue Moon Boys were the best rock and rollers! I love their energy together. As much as I adore 70s Elvis onstage, the TCB Band, the Sweets Inspirations and all, if I only had one performance of Elvis' I could attend, just one to choose, I would go for - undoubtedly - the 50s ones, when those guys, The Blue Moon Boys and Elvis, were playing together.
That's Rock and Roll royalty. ✨👑 ♥
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There you go. All the videos together so you can watch of them easily. ♥

that person is one of two sisters who are neo shippers and are well known and hated among the intl twt ppls. they can even be spotted leaving comments on yt. they are obsessed with mentioning the lack of friendship whenever they don’t do anything together especially if with some other man. twt have said that you and them are the same and I just laughed.
and the arguing on twt is insane like he, literally as you said was doing a musical and he was also doing his own comeback but they say jelpi left it too long that’s what they didn’t include the others. no just let’s put more pressure on him shall we.
omg they left the others out lollll hakyeons priorities are in dramas and movies, redacted was literally enlisted. hongbin no matter how much they say haha let me be editions, is not coming back he’s happy being a twitch gamer. They’re constantly screaming about ot6 and ot5 all the time also them screaming about the lack of promotion from jelpi for the concert because some ppl didn’t know about it.. now them all arguing among themselves over this suspected draft dodging. It’s all ridiculous.
its crazy that neo shippers are so annoying even starlights, delusional weirdos they are, hate them. wait ME AND THIS WEIRDO ARE THE SAME???? FAVEEEE 😭😭😭im obsessed w twt fan bullshit. i say it would be hilarious if 90line were never seen in the same room again just to see shippers suffer but im the one crying over their 'friendship'. while also being hated for being a solo stan that doesn't like anyone else. WHICH IS ITTTT
but this discourse is fucking weird...theyre so obsessed with ot6 to the point of serious delusion. to ME, and to a lot of ppl, its kinda obvs hakyeons focused on acting likeeee he wasnt even rumored to be there when they were MEETING abt the concert lol. and im sure if he wanted to be there he could've negotiated a better date like no one (besides worried kfans) are bringing up leo doing 2 concert dates then immediately going back to west side story. that was fucking insane and im still trying to figure out what hakyeon was busy with lol. like im not gonna get on a high horse and be like u need to pull crazy leo workaholic stunts bc NO. no one should have a schedule like that but also...what the fuck is he doing? is the dress rehearsal for an awards show a month long commitment i truly do not know 😭😭😭and no one i peeped at has given a concrete answer on what he was so busy with
and its weird bc they're trying to absolve vixx of their decisions and blame it all on jelpi. nd jelpi IS very sus and they DO make a lot of bad decisions but in di end of the day if a vixx boy wants to be at a vixx event he gonna make a way to be there. its been 12 years their priorities have changed not everyone's first priority will be to their group 🤷🏾‍♀️that doesnt make them bad ppl imo at most its just kinda annoying that hakyeon just won't put in his resignation fr like put these girls out of their misery alreadydakdkmakm
cuz ultimately why the FAWK should they give up careers and opportunities? its unfair to EVERYONE like just bc [redacted] put off enlisting like the idiot he is should leo, hyuk, nd jaehwan be stuck in the basement doing nothing? and vice versa should hakyeon be forced to not pursue what he wants bc the rest want to be singers 4 life? should they all be jobless bc of fucking hongbin? be frrrrrrr these bitches are like toddlers istg let these men grow and be happy
😭 like your vixx boy not living up to YOUR expectations is a you problem. also how the hell did they not know abt that concert that was ALL over realvixx like??????? LOL????????
p.s. am i the only one annoyed by this idea that idol relationships are only 'valid' if they make themselves available for viewing to the public? like i don't immediately think vixx r beefing just bc they aren't seen with each other. i'll joke that hakyeon don't wanna dance but i'd never say he hates them cuzzzz i mean there's a whole world beyond what's shown on insta or twitter!!!! they could be texting all di time who knows! this entitlement to evidence of idol bonds pisses me off!!!

interview: Anthony Head
Okay, Buffy fans - how many of you can name the American telefantasy series that Anthony Head starred in before he was Giles? It was a short-lived thing called VR.5, starring Lori Singer, and it was the subject of this phone interview on 4th October 1995 (by which time it had already been cancelled). A short version of this ran in SFX but the full version has never been published. (NB. At this time Buffy the Vampire Slayer was just a 1992 movie starring Kristy Swanson so there’s no mention of it here. Sorry.)
Was it planned in advance that you would come in on episode four of VR.5, or was it something that was decided during production?
"No, I think it was basically that, after the pilot, they realised that the professor character was great up to a point. It helped establish (a) that she's vulnerable, (b) that what she's doing is very dangerous. But there was very little antagonism between them, and once they had established that they were both coming from the same place, there needed to be another character introduced who would stir things up a bit. It was planned after the pilot. The pilot set up these basic characters and from there on in, it transpired that you need to go somewhere else. For the theories to have a stronger line and for the committee to be more imposing.”
Did you have to audition for this?
“Oh yes."
What did they tell you about the role?
"Very little. There were keeping it extremely hush-hush. Then on my second reading - my first call-back - they started to explain roughly what it was about. The general description of the characters was that he is 'more Armani than Brooks Brothers' and he's a bit like a Svengali figure. You can't work out whether he's taking care of her or usurping her."
Have they told you stuff about the character that they haven't revealed to the audience?
"Oh, yes. Well, it gradually becomes revealed as the series progresses. You find out why he is such a strange, guarded chap and what dark secrets are locked in his past. They did say at the interview that initially he gives very little away, and it's exasperating because of that. Eventually you do start to discover that he does have dark secrets. We find out what makes him tick. It's a very interesting part. It's not your ordinary run-of-the-mill series, and it's not your ordinary run-of-the-mill part. In terms of American episodic TV it was very different from anything else I'd ever seen or been up for."
Was the series doing quite well when it was dropped?
"It was doing extremely well. It was very controversial, it was extremely well critically received. There are still discussions about its future - it's by no means dead - and in fact I'm going out there next week for negotiations. It's something that has developed an enormous cult audience. So much so that people have gone to Canada to get pirate copies of the shows that didn't get shown on Fox."
How many episodes did they make altogether?
"Altogether we made 13, which will all be shown on Sky, but they only showed ten on Fox because it was a mid-season replacement. We had extremely good viewing figures but they were up and down, they were all over the place. It wasn't obvious; one week we'd be up there, the next week we'd be down. So the overall viewing figures were not stunning, but the general response was brilliant. You had TV critics in the New York Times praising it hugely. It was all very good. But I wasn't expecting it to be received like any other American TV programme. It requires more work than they are normally used to. The audience has got to work quite hard to suss out who's doing what to whom."
Did you do any of the sequences in VR?
"Couple of times, yes."
Was that an unusual filming experience?
"Yes. One of the things they were very specific about was that they wanted to do most of the effects on camera, rather than relying on a lot of post-production. So for instance there's a court scene that we did that was shot in the hotel where Bobby Kennedy was shot. We did it in this enormous lounge, a bizarre courtroom setting. All the uprights supporting the balustrade were perspex pillars, so when you shine light through it, it's the most beautiful, extraordinary effect."
What's Lori Singer like to work with?
"She's very, very good indeed. The thing that I think she's exceptional at - and that I don't think your run-of-the-mill Hollywood actress would have been able to cope with - was the transition that she goes through from her 'normal life' persona, which is a bit geeky, very shy, very reticent, to this stunning charismatic beauty that she becomes in virtual reality. This is why she enjoys going into virtual reality, she can't keep away from it because she suddenly becomes incandescent. She's very good. It's nice to be able to talk through dialogue and work out things that aren't working and be able to bounce ideas around. She's very up there for ideas and things. It was very interesting, very good."
Whilst it's a very interesting show, the basic premise of VR.5 is complete hokum. What was the feeling towards the scientific aspects of the show on the production?
"Hokum inasmuch as you can't take someone into a virtual reality set-up on the telephone, you mean?"
Yes, that's this big leap of believability, that's not really what virtual reality is. It's a nice idea, but there's a lot of technobabble in the series.
"I think there were certain rules that they set up within the boundaries of what they'd elected to generate. There was always a key that she would touch to get out. The virtual reality set-up to which she would go would always be something set up by herself on the keyboard. it wasn't just something that she leapt into and out of like a time machine. At the same time, it's not that far removed from possibility. If you think what people would have thought about virtual reality ten years ago, in terms of commercial uses, and people are now using virtual reality to walk into buildings that are just on a piece of paper. So (a) I don't think it's going to be long before virtual reality using all five senses is attainable, but (b) I also don't think it's that far removed from the possibility that you will be able to access people's subconscious thoughts. It's all feasible, that's as far as it goes. No, it's not available in the shops, but it's not that far removed from possibility. It has to be an extrapolation, it has to be what happens next, because we've got this far and we all know about that. You can't really make TV programmes about that because we're already there. What we do want to make programmes about are the uses of VR and how it shapes our lives from the next generation on. I think in terms of those extrapolations, it's quite an interesting hypothesis."
Does it bother you that you are still 'Anthony Head, that bloke from the coffee ads'?
"No. Not remotely, it's been very good to me. Why should I deny it? I don't get people ribbing me and giving me a hard time about it. I get people smiling and saying hello. It was a good thing to have done. It had a good vibe about it, it was well shot, it was intelligently written, as much as you can in an advert. Humorous, witty, romantic, it was just like doing quite a good little mini-series every six months for forty seconds."
How many did you do?
"We did twelve here, and I think we're on number twelve there, and we've just shot two more."
So the American ones are shot separately?
"Oh yes. The story has gone on, and has changed. They've taken a different line. But whatever you do that achieves some sort of fame or notoriety, you are then going to be known for that. Trevor Eve - Sharon's husband - is still known for Shoestring, and he's done a lot of extremely interesting things since then. He will always be 'Oh yeah! Shoestring!' but that's not a big deal. The bottom line is that Gold Blend is something I'm proud of. It had an effect on doing TV and film here for a while, but then it opened up a market in America so I was able to go over there. It also made me box-office over here for theatre, so I was able to do lots of theatre that I might not otherwise have done. Life deals its cards, and it's the way you deal with them, or the way you learn from them, that makes it interesting or exceedingly boring."
You were Frank N Furter in The Rocky Horror Show. That's tremendous fun, isn't it?
"Wonderful, wonderful. I did it four or five years ago at the Piccadilly, and I had such a good time. They've asked me a few times if I'd do it again, but it always meant touring. This time they said, 'Do you want to do six weeks in the West End and I said, 'Yes!' Because he's wonderfully wicked and very dark, and a great little spirit to play. He's fab, just fab. Where else do you get that much vibe off the audience?"
Were you aware of the amount of audience participation?
"When I first did it? Well, they told me about it, but you're never quite prepared for it. The first Friday night that you do is like: 'Jesus!' But then when you get it right, you get incredible power off them. Not so much at the Duke of York, but at the Piccadilly, which is a fifteen hundred seater. To be able to stop somebody dead with just a look, because you couldn't always put them down verbally, otherwise the play would never get on. But you could just flash somebody a look in the back of the circle and they'd shut up. It was great. Great power. My own little virtual reality set-up."
Do you prefer doing stage work or TV work?
"It isn't a question of preferences. They're so different, and there are so many different excitements in both of them, that you can't compare. I've been very lucky to flip about between one and the other, and musicals as well. They're another thing again, not like doing a straight play. When I've wanted to sing somebody's said, 'Would you like to do Rocky Horror for six weeks?' It's like: 'Whoa! Yeah!' Then I think, 'I've done some theatre, I want to do a bit of film,' and suddenly something crops up. The more you put into life, the more you learn from life."
You were in an episode of Highlander: The Series. What did you play in that?
"I was about 38 or so at the time; I had to play it older than myself because I had a 24-year-old son in it. I played an American ambassador whose son has raped a local girl, whose father just happens to be an immortal. And so the guy lays siege to my chateau, and old Highlander turns up and helps me out. It was a good little episode, one of those at the end of the series when they have to stay in one set because of they've used their budget up. So you've got to have a reason to stay in one place, and so it happened to be a chateau surrounded by fog. It was a very good episode actually."
Did the guy kill you at the end?
"That was the only sad thing. I got shot with a semi-automatic weapon with bullet-holes across my chest. They cut to me croaking on the settee, and people saying 'We must get him to hospital...' In real life, you shoot someone with a semi-automatic weapon across the chest and they don't make it to the settee. Unfortunately this is what we teach our children happens. I don't know; I'm very confused about the argument about TV violence. I think it does have an effect on children. Depends how much you let them watch I guess."
What's this new thing you've made for the BBC, The Ghostbusters of East Finchley?
"It's a series starring Jan Francis, Bill Paterson, Ray Winstone, Joe Melia, it's got a whole list of people in it. It's written by Tony Grant, and it's about 'ghosts' who are people who don't really exist in order to avoid paying taxes. Bill Paterson plays a tax inspector. I'm part of the sub-plot. Ray Winstone has some odd deals going on the side, and I play this sort of East End wide-boy who sells cars to Ray Winstone in Spain. I come back to pick up some cars and waltz into their life. It's beautifully written, very funny.”

This is going to be a bit tedious because this has a lot of tentacles involved with it. In regards to POTC, this is all speculation and rumors for now.
(Before getting fully into this, I want to start by saying this so that you know this is not a big waste of time. But we do have reason to believe that a lot of these rumors is to be true due to confirmed spoilers for The Little Mermaid and Peter Pan. And to back this up, Rob Marshall has a track record like J.J. Abrams. So the answer is, yes this will be a shit show like TROS. When the first teaser for TLM released 6 months ago, it wasn't to long after that, parts of the movie on Twitter and YouTube came out. Parts that was not even shown at D23. Before the official and last trailer came out during the Oscars the other night, two channels on YouTube that is still up, you can go look, leaked part of the trailer out a month early. That's when people knew the leaked images from the movie and concept artwork was real that was released in discords and other private groups early December. We don't understand how these YouTube channels are not getting banned but it was the same case when the leaks came out months ahead of TROS. So don't be fooled, we believe they have the whole movie and not just the trailers.)
With that being said, read with caution that this does contain some spoilers! This is what being said according to someone that is credible that has close ties to Rob Marshall's studio whom is the director of the Live-Action TLM. This said person is saying with the cancellation of the POTC reboot, Disney was left to figure out what to do moving forward but also combating the backlash they received. Disney or rather the Mouse went in panic mode because it's coming up to 20 years on June 28th of this year when POTC first made it's debut with The Curse of the Black Pearl. This person who has ties to Rob's studio is saying what is being said and where they are at right now is that there are talks about Johnny Depp returning as Jack Sparrow. Disney is ready to negotiate a new contract with him but Johnny has neither agreed or declined yet. And what this all has to do with The Little Mermaid? Oh buckle up sweetheart. This is going to screw up the timelines and possibly the whole POTC series unless as theories suggest Jack is cursed or time travelling like some kind of Kingdom Hearts + Once Upon A Time fever dream. Keep in mind that POTC is set in the 1700s. The Little Mermaid is set in the 1830s. Unless there was a time period change for TLM. What the leaked images are showing and what the leaks are saying for The Little Mermaid (2023) is that they took a darker turn from the original story and The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning (2008) movie. We get a brief origin story about King Triton in the beginning which could also setup a Live-Action Hercules lmfao (Lawd help us). Ariel's mother is kidnapped and killed by some familiar looking mf's dressed in red and black coats. Now you have to imagine the controversy this is going to stir up considering that Ariel's mother is black. These soldiers are wearing familiar British uniforms seen in the POTC series. It's said that the audience will only see the shadow of Ariel's mother being stabbed. The soldiers intentions was to kill the whole family but the mother sacrificed herself so they could get away. Triton tries to save her from being captured and trying to save his daughters at the same time. He drops his trident during the struggle. When his eldest daughter is free, he swims down to the ocean floor to retrieve his trident and he was going to go back to the surface but the ship is blown to pieces killing all the men onboard. King Triton and his daughters swim back to Atlantica. (This is what fuels his hate toward humans and why he see's them all as enemies.) The scene pans out and you see a ship in the distance and although it's not mentioned, it's obviously the Black Pearl in almost like a ghost ship form. The image of the ship was leaked and it definitely does look like the Black Pearl. They said we see the ship again at the end of the credits. It's sailing in the midst of fog with nobody on it. It pans in on Jack's compass and map of Never Land. And again, just like The Little Mermaid, this messes with the timelines because Peter Pan is set in the early 1900s unless Never Land is open to different time ports. It's said that only Jack Sparrow's name is mentioned in Peter Pan (2023). And the place that Captain Hook takes Tiger Lily too is said to be the same island from the first POTC - Isla de Muerta which plays on the theories that Jack is cursed but he still could be time jumping somehow but also Jack could had been to Never Land previously before the events of Peter Pan took place.
I have a bad feeling they are going to end up making a Live-Action Kingdom Hearts.

Such phrases as ‘good film’, ‘films of merit’, and ‘quality film’ are used repeatedly to refer to the films themselves, whilst the generic audience member is referred to as ‘the intelligent layman’”

QUOTE FROM ALAN K STOUT, written in the olinda programme: ”The problem of the cinema is that it is both “big business” and at the same time one of the most powerful influences on character and outlook the world has known. But those who run the commercial cinema are not interested in education, in affecting people’s outlook, and in changing their habits of thinking and feeling and acting … [rather, the] box office is the criterion by which films are judged, and the only influence movie moguls want films to have is to preserve a social and political order in which the industry can flourish.”
Olinda was considered by its organisers to be a surprising success. Originally estimating that the attendance at the Festival would be no more than eighty, they invested the entire funds of the FVFS (a total of £15) in hiring one “rambling old wooden guest house”.[15] However, in the end, Olinda attracted more than eight-hundred film enthusiast

The Aims of Melbourne film festival:
a. To integrate films into programmes of significance, and each programme will be discussed by a relevant authority; b. To hold discussions on controversial subjects … making the Festival a sounding board for public opinion as represented by a diverse panel of experts; c. To enable people to enjoy and appreciate films which they otherwise could not see, but [sic] it will show educationalists and others how to go about making and using visual aids to the best advantage.

the thing tho, about neutral jing, is that u cant control people around u. the idea is to wait for ur opponent to come to u. so when applied to the idea of chae yoon and tae gu, she did everything she could, she stepped where she knew she needed to step when she needed to step. but tae gu still made the decision to step further, to escalate the situation, to aggravate it; he evaded her help, and there was nothing chae yoon could have done to get him to come to her bc he had already decided. she had already done everything she could have done on the path she'd taken leading up to that moment. there was nothing more she could do but to stay true to what she'd promised him and hyun ju. i– [clenches fist]

Would you consider Sailor Moon a feminist cartoon? If it is, how I can notice it?
Sailor Moon is absolutely a feminist series. I would go so far as to say it's one of the defining feminist anime/manga series and has overtly feminist messages and themes.
Some examples off the top of my head are:
***A great emphasis is placed on female relationships/friendships. Usagi's romance with Mamoru, while important, is never really portrayed as something that is more important than her friendships with the other girls. All too often in media female characters are shown competing with/being catty to each other (if they're even given other female characters to interact with at all), so it's wonderful to see a series where such emphasis is placed on the strong bonds between girls.
***Things that are traditionally feminine are not portrayed as weak. Rather, they're portrayed as strong. Sailor Moon's attacks involve pink, hearts, sparkles, etc, all things that are seen as "girly" and "lame" by our society, but in Sailor Moon they're devastating attacks. The Sailor Senshi in general are beautiful girls who embrace their femininity while fighting, and they're all the stronger for it.
***Going off of that last point, traditionally feminine traits are also not portrayed as weak. Things like empathy, cooperation, compassion, vulnerability, a readiness to negotiate and compromise, emotional expressiveness, etc are all traits that are associated with femininity and are on full display with the main characters. Especially Usagi. Usagi's empathy, love, compassion, and willingness to forgive literally saves the world on multiple occasions and is portrayed as her true strength.
***This is more prominent in the manga, but there's definitely the idea that sexuality doesn't equal purity. Usagi is heavily implied to be sexually active with Mamoru throughout the manga, and yet still is portrayed as as one of the purest beings in the universe. Because her purity is tied to her heart, not her virginity. This directly goes against patriarchal messages of purity.
***Sailor Moon also does a lot from a queer feminist perspective. Haruka and Michiru (Sailor Uranus and Neptune) are portrayed as two fabulous lesbians in a loving relationship. And of course, they later raise the reborn Hotaru along with Setsuna. Portraying such a non-traditional family- one with 3 moms, 2 of them lesbians and in a relationship- was revolutionary and we still don't see a lot of that today. Moreover, Haruka is genderqueer/genderfluid in the manga and the Starlights have some gender stuff going on as well.
***Sailor Moon goes out of its way to show that women can fill any occupation/lifestyle. Michiru is a violinist. Ami wants to be a doctor like her mother. Haruka is a racer. Setsuna is studying physics. Mako wants to open up a bakery/floral shop. Usagi wants to be a wife and mother. And Himeko Nayotake (introduced in the S Movie/Lover of Princess Kaguya side story) is a freaking astronaut. All of these jobs are varied, some male-dominated and some traditionally feminine, and all of them want to be achieved or have been achieved by a woman in the series.
***The very foundation of Sailor Moon itself are legendary female warriors who protect all sentient life against the forces that want to destroy them. For the first 4 story arcs, it's just the main 10 Solar System Senshi, but then in Stars we learn that this has universal implications. Each planet with intelligent life has a Sailor Senshi assigned to guard it, and they're all women. Women are literally the heroes of the universe. That's pretty feminist to me.
Anyone can feel free to add to this if they want to! There's tons I'm leaving out but this should be enough to prove that Sailor Moon should be considered feminist.

BTS Documentaries and Ethics
The purpose of music documentaries is usually to put a spotlight on a particular artist, band or major event, with an aim to cast a light into the behind the scenes. It can be intimate, offering fans a glimpse into the thoughts of their favorite artists. It can be expository, which is the main category of music documentaries, like No Direction Home, Gaga: Five Foot Two, Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck, or it can take other shapes in order to tell a story differently than what is the norm, like Scorsese's Rolling Thunder Revue, a mockumentary that used footage from Renaldo and Clara, a film shot by Bob Dylan in the 70s while on tour, slightly altering some facts which would be caught on only by hardcore fans. Another example, which is a favorite of mine, would be 20.000 Days on Earth, which was a musical-documentary which portrayed a fictional day in the life of Nick Cave.
Turning to BTS now, their documentaries are expository, focusing on their tours, beginning with 2017. Burn the Stage is frankly quite relevant as compared to others as it was also the first one released. It's relevance is in showing the band on tour and also how they work. Not only that, it revealed on camera something which is absolutely normal, that is disagreement and honestly, it made it all more real. Not only that, it worked in terms of a documentary structure, that glimpse of conflict. Besides that, it showed some hardships and hard truths about the effect of such a tour and what a hectic work schedule can do to an individual. It's interesting to note that in the BTS case the purpose of a music documentary it's not the usual one. Fans don't really need to wait for it in order to find out more about the band, since BTS has had an online presence ever since the beginning, exposing part of their work life as much as they could. Either way, Burn the Stage had all the elements of a classic on the road documentary that managed to offer information that was not usually revealed up until then. I will not delve too much into the rest of the releases, as they're not at the same standard and over the years, not only it became a bit repetitive, it did not offer a ''realness'' like in the first one, a lot of footage was recycled, as it was used for other DVDs.
What my focus is on today is the question of ethics in documentary practices and I will talk about what was shown in Burn the Stage, specifically the parts of Jungkook getting sick,  as this is an issue that was talked about a lot with many divisive opinions. My point stands for all similar instances in the BTS documentaries.
Tumblr media
Documentary ethics is a very vast topic of discussion and a very complicated one, to say the least. A filmmaker has to think about what is considered to be necessary to get a story, how close can they get, is it ok to film some things, what impact it has on its subject, is it too intrusive? Or who benefits from it all? A filmmaker may say it benefits the subject or a certain community, depending on the topic, but it also benefits the filmmaker, as they can make money out of it, get some prestige if the documentary is part of film festivals, receives awards or it's shown on a major tv network. Or simply, money out of sold DVDs. There can be differences between what a filmmaker thinks and deems to be right, his subject and his audience. The first two can negotiate the lines of what is acceptable and come to an agreement and in some cases, a filmmaker spends years documenting, showing the subject what they have, what is their direction, getting their approval, while still maintaining artistic autonomy. It cannot be said the same thing when it comes to the audience, as there can be differences between what they think it's (un)ethical and the filmmaker's own position. I recommend this article that tackles this subject and the interesting part was the one that answered the question if the subject is to be treated differently, depending if they are average people of famous people:
“We say this to everyone at the beginning, we say you’re going to see this film before it’s done. You can see it when it can still be changed. We’re going to try to convince you that we need you in this movie; that it’s important for the story that it’s good for society in general to tell this story, and why your part of it is so important. At the end of the day, if I can’t convince you we’ll take you out of the movie.”
Quinn then went on to explain that the rules that apply to an average person, might not apply to someone who is already famous.
“If they’re already famous, they already have agency in the world,” Quinn said. “We want to get the facts right of course, and if it’s really something that bothers you or that you’re not happy with, you’re going to be listened to. But at the end of the day it has to be my decision.”
This doesn't mean there is a complete disregard towards someone just because they are famous, but the lines are drawn a bit differently when someone is a public figure and has consented to being filmed and appear in a documentary.
Now, how do all these ethical questions work on that particular part in Burn the Stage? When it comes to a documentary, in the best case scenario, the subjects consent to being filmed, they sign a contract. If there's something that should definitely not be seen, that part does not end up in the final cut or simply, not being filmed. As an audience, we have the outsider's point of view, which means we cannot possibly know what kind of discussions or agreements have taken place. The logical option is to understand that in that particular moment when Jungkook was sick, he more likely had not even payed attention to the camera as being intrusive. Not just because of the state he was in, but also because the camera is always there, ever since the beginning. If, after the entire situation, he would want that footage to not be included, he could have had the option to say so, but since that was not the case, we can assume that he consented to it. Of course we could come up with a bunch of scenarios, but that is too much speculation about information that we are simply not privy to so there's no point in going into that direction.
As I mentioned above, the way in which an audience perceives something shown in the documentary could be different than what was the filmmaker's intent, or in this case, also Big Hit. Before I proceed I would like to mention that when it comes to such situations we have to ask ourselves: is it gratuitous or it's there to reflect a reality? The purpose of the documentary was to show life on tour. It means that in such a work environment and given their profession, accidents can happen, people can get sick. It's not uncommon. And if the point is to show reality, then it makes sense that the decision was to film and include that particular situation. But why is there such a strong reaction to it? Is it because of the emotional connection fans have with the person being filmed? This is one answer and it's to be expected (I'm not judging it). Would this reaction be the same if the documentary was about a random average person? We should ask ourselves that, especially when we question intent because it's only fair that the audience as well can be aware of their own bias or preconceived notions.

When I type everything out as a single run-on sentence I want you to imagine me cornering you off-guard in a crowded room, my empty brown cow eyes staring straight at you and reflecting you--nopony home here, she checked out and hopped away forever ago on the toxic chemical trains and clacking cattle cars years ago--and just, for no reason, I’m here and you’re there pocketed in the corner of a crowded room, and I’m channeling my alternate history past-self who was a preacher that got kicked out of the church for delivering sermons about the impossibility of sin and just ran off to Point Sur with my harem of distractions since I could never stop blessing my congregation saying “Go forth and know that you cannot sin, in the beautiful eyes of God and in my beautiful eyes there can be no wrong or evil” which backfired on me when they started setting fires and it all went to Hell, but I’ve won out over them because the world honored my wishes when I sighed “I should like to start again,” and so I’m here with you and you’re hear with me and I’m saying some insane shit like: “Looking back on Emily’s early works it is easy to see where her later reactionary turn comes from, because, from the start, Alfred Alfer was a story about the fear of castration, I mean, the first video was literally about Alfred getting neutered and escaping into a violent fantasy where he is loved and praised for his violence and the ‘punchline’ establishes the general theme of ‘reality by despair,’ which is to say that Alfred’s clearly dissociative episode is ‘verified’ by his destruction and it is this self-destruction that establishes ‘reality,’ like ‘pinch me i might be dreaming,’ but the pinch is violent and unfair self-destruction as hope is still ripped away, but hope remains, because it is a hope to die rather than be changed by the world, and this theme remains throughout her most famous work (the Alfred’s Playhouse trilogy which cements in canon the jokes of her previous Rise of Alfred cartoon) where Alfred is possessed by the spirits of Stalin and Hitler--a false equivalency made by the authoritarians that have passed for liberals for years--in Rise of Alfred, one would be remiss not to mention the phallic imagery in both the title and the video itself, Alfred is cut loose upon the world by the absence of a Near God or little other by the orders of a Distant God or big Other (in this video played by a droning and irrelevant corporate figure that can offer nothing more than a wall without lead paint that one can lick), and this is the essence of reactionary thought, the idea of a big Other who is totally incompetent yet all powerful and somehow worth respecting and suffering for (King Henry II saying ‘will no one rid me of this troublesome priest’ or the departed Daiymo of the 47 Ronin), the reactionary sees the big Other as a master who can only set the dogs off the chain, the police chief who needs to get out of the way so McBain or Dirty Harry or Paul Kersey (especially in Death Wish III) can do what needs to be done and purge away all the filth and make the world right again (no different than Rambo--even the first movie, which for all of it’s goods part still is  reactionary propaganda bullshit pushing the fascist lies about a ‘fifth column’ that was rude to poor little meow meow war criminals--or modern day fantasies about nuking all of MENA until it glows green (fantasies delivered to raucous applause at Republican presidential conventions); the reactionary is perpetually trapped in this fantasy of destroying the world and escaping into the void of space, freed of the ground where the riff-raff are so they don’t have to negotiate life with their neighbors, and this is true, yes, even of people who spout bullshit about Fully Automated Luxury Communism who only want the right to consume as much as possible free of guilt--a condition they think is inflicting upon them by the big Other--as the Champagne of Shame Socialists of the 60s), and the righting of the world for the reactionary is just that, that the world must be Righted and the reactionary must be loved for all of their violence and because of their violence, for the reactionary finds themselves ever needing new excuses as they open new fronts in their fake, phony Culture War, and that is all they need (excuses), which is why Emily is so obsessed with justifying her edgy shit based on some Trauma (which is handy excuse to do Anything, even Things that Cannot Be Excused like war or self-harm or wanting to be seen), and so here you should already be able to hear so much madness, so many plaintive cries, all aligning around the same point (the trannies in the ‘wrong’ bathroom, the refugees in the ‘wrong’ country, the people in the ‘wrong’ neighborhood, the Jewish Question, etc), and, anyway, so in Rise of Alfred, Emily’s OC directly addresses the audience and tells them that they must love him/her--the castrated bitch desperate to be let off the leash--and in Alfred’s Playhouse she/he simultaneously affirms and denies the nature of a trauma that justifies everything (one is constantly reminded of The Act of Killing where one of the mass murderers imagines how, depending on the editing of the final film, he could be either a woobie or a war criminal) as the Trauma is simultaneously a joke--’sodomized with a popsicle!’--and the alleged real event that motivates her self-mutilation as we’re expected to believe Emily is processing something, but what is she is processing, hmmmm, isn’t that the true spice,” I rail and rave against your poor ear drums as my empty, dead cow’s eyes capture your entire body and reflect it back at you and the ice cubes in my drink pop and shatter and dissolve and as my fist clenches tighter and tighter around the glass containing them and I continue: she’s processing a fear of castration, which is shown clearly in Alfred’s Playhouse where Alfred’s “sodomy” is demonstrated by the sight of his crotch covered in blood (a scene that will be repeated in The Alfred Alfer Movie) but “what is castration,” one might ask, and one can respond “it is the removal of power by the Father,” and this is how we wrap back around to our root in the nature of Emily the Reactionary who believes herself to be deprived of the power she holds by The Bolshevik Jew that has inserted itself between her and the Father and this is the cause of the big Other’s ineffectiveness, and this is also the core of the reactionary as a whole, the reactionary doesn’t want a daddy to control them, but a Master to set them off the chain because they hate the Father who has castrated them, this is the nature of the mumbling corporate manager in Rise of Alfred, but it is also the nature of Alfred herself--and now you may ask if Emily is trans and the answer is I literally couldn’t fucking care less about any question left forever unanswered on God’s Green Earth and you shouldn’t care either--but Alfred the Castrated is also the Father/Mother of Alfred the Dictator, the murderous inner-self that is immune to consequences of the onrushing future (The Alfred Alfer Movie) but not immune to the justifications of the imagined past (Alfred’s Playhouse trilogy), and therefore free to inflict whatever violence that Emily the Reactionary desires, and it is in pursuit of this freedom that the reactionaries set off in the name of New Sincerity (two things to be noted here: (1) the Death of Irony was proclaimed at the birth of the 21st century police state and the new Forever War with all of its genocidal objectives, that is to say, 9/11, and (2) the broken necked coward who complained of American Psycho that it’s author provided no easy outs for easy survival was the one who offed himself while Bateman’s father still lives) and the Talking Cure (i miss who we used to be), and at this you should see me slugging back the whole lukewarm glass in between two syllables and continuing on without pause (as if this dog still has legs on which to receive them in any case), “Emily, like Alex Jones, is so desperate for an excuse because neither of them can accept that they have to be the one that pulls the trigger, like all liars they don’t understand that they have to define reality by action, the answer to what one might do is found in the difference between the types of irony, one type is constantly desperate for excuses (such as the broken necked coward found one day) for violence, and the other irony, the true spice, is the irony that releases from excuses into violence and energy, one must seek not to know or endure but to inflict, knowing that this inflicting was always inevitable, no searching for justifications, instead the answer is to realize that there was never a chain there connecting you to the Master or the present to the past, and the Father/Mother never had the power of castration (the past, after all, is a foreign country bombed and blasted to ruins already and better forgotten), and you can just be fucked up and terrible and do whatever amuses you right now without needing an excuse, and to the extent that anyone should, one should, because that is what fascism needs, fascism needs the need for an excuse and that is the irony of fascism--where the falling angel (the superego) meets the rising ape (the id) in an ego of ultimate violence which seeks only release from both of its creations in an instinctually and totally misunderstood caricature of dialectics--which opposes its opposite irony (the irony without fascism which is the id’s violence against purpose and reason rising free of anything else to obstruct it), and if you let go of that, if you just, ya know, if you just, you just have to cut loose and go and no one can stop you until it is too late, because there’s no Jew sitting over your shoulder to justify everything in terms of opposition or support, not even The Nazarene is real, but do you understand that you’ve always been free to just go? You’re free to go. You’ve been free to go all this time. You never needed permission for this or anything else. You’ve been free to go all this time. You’re free to go. A whole day off. Just mind the mo(u)rning and get on with it.”

MC adopts a puppy and Yoosung is jealous of the puppy
It’s been way too long since I’ve shown Yoosung any love, so I’d love to write this for you! Anyhow, I hope you have an amazing day and enjoy!
———————————————————————————————————–
You’d stumbled upon the puppy on your way from work.
You nearly swerved off the road at the sight of a tawny, long-haired pup stranded in the middle of the street. You’d jumped out without a second thought and for all the honking horns and yelling drivers that’d stuck their heads out of their windows, you didn’t regret it.
The puppy was a spaniel mix, long, droopy ears and fur full of curls with paws a little too big for his body. He was a mess, and dirt mottled his coat where the ribs just barely protruded against your fingers.
And yet despite all he’d so clearly been through, his eyes were still so full of warmth. It’s tail – consisting only of a short nub – even began to wag at the sight of you. He had been through so much and clearly had so much more love to give in spite of it all.
You’d snuck him back in your car and brought him home, all the while the little puppy attempting to scamper across the front seats before settling in your lap. When you’d brought him inside he’d stumbled across the wooden flooring, gawking about like it was the grandest sight he’d ever seen.
This wide-eyed, excited gaze quickly vanished when you gave him a bath. Like most puppies, he wasn’t a fan, whining and making unsuccessful attempts to climb out. He was only happy once again when you lifted him up, dripping with water and curls already beginning to twirl once again.
Yoosung had come home when you’d wrapped up the puppy in a towel. He’d nearly passed by you in the bathroom when he’d jerked back at the sight of the small dog cradled in your arms. He adjusted his glasses confusedly, peering so forward he ended up tripping over the bath mats. He slid forward against the wooden floor, funnily over, ending up just overlooking the pup.
“Oh!” His eyes lit up. He tapped against the puppy’s snout playfully, laughing at one of his oversized paws attempting to return the gesture. “And who’s this?”
“I hope you don’t mind! I-I just found him and couldn’t leave him there in the street…”
“That’s how you found him? The poor thing!” Yoosung gasped. “How could anyone just toss you away~?”
A part of your heart always melted at the sight of Yoosung fawning over animals. Most days during work he’d send you pictures of all the pets being brought in – from cats, dogs, rabbits, and even birds. Each and every time Yoosung would barely be able to text in how overwhelmed he was by how each and every animal was insurmountably adorable. You often wondered how he managed to get through all his appointments.
“I was thinking we could keep him, at least until we come up with any other plan?” You tapped your feet against the tile floor in anticipation. “Please?”
Yoosung didn’t stand a chance.
Soon enough, the stray you’d taken in was given the name ‘Cinnamon’. And quickly, you and Cinnamon became inseparable. He followed you wherever you went, little legs awkwardly chasing after you and trying to climb into your lap at every opportunity.
In fact, every time you were with Yoosung, Cinnamon found a way to sneak himself between the two of you.
The first time was during that very first evening. You were sitting together on the sofa, a movie playing that you two inevitably chattered all throughout. Even if you’d try to pay attention during films, Yoosung would always whisper questions into your ear, causing you two to spiral into snickering and utterly off track.
The two of you were distracted once again, Yoosung remembering a joke he’d heard earlier in the day and suddenly eager to tell you. He leaned against you on your two cushions of the sofa that caused you both to only sink further – Yoosung practically laying on top of you by the end of it. The more he tried to tell you the joke in that hushed, giggly voice the more it made you laugh.
When Cinnamon noticed, well he wanted to know what was so amusing. He began pawing at the side of the couch anxiously, tail wagging and even his far-too-long ears perking up.
Of course, you sat up – causing Yoosung to too, rise. You lifted up Cinnamon and he covered you in kisses, and admittedly, took the whole of your attention. By the end of the movie, he’d fallen asleep in your lap where one could hear the faintest snoring.
Yoosung had compromised by resting his head against your shoulder, occasionally pressing kisses to your neck. Every time you could see frustration bubbling up inside of him, Cinnamon yawned or stretched his paws just so against Yoosung’s leg and your husband settled back down.
The next time was simply minutes later that night when the two of you made your way to bed, Cinnamon still cradled in your arms. Yoosung’s hand hung gingerly at the end of your shirt, keeping you close. It was a habit he gained after losing you so often in crowds, and in his sleepiest moments.
You’d both collapsed against the bed the second you were able. Sheets were loosely pulled back only to ‘plop’ on top but you could’ve cared less as long as long as your head still hit the pillow.
Cinnamon started in your arms, but that was until he started to climb. You couldn’t stop laughing as this tiny puppy began trying to climb over your neck and shoulders. How could anyone?
Well, Yoosung didn’t find it quite as funny. However, this might’ve been for the simple fact that when CInnamon did manage to make it over your shoulders, he landed on Yoosung, trying to pull you close.
Yoosung snorted as paws and hair were suddenly smothering his face. It was pure luck that Yoosung managed to grapple the puppy in his hands before jerking back in alarm. You twisted around to see Yoosung pressing his nose to Cinnamon’s, cheeks puffing out and nose wrinkled.
“You are so lucky you’re cute.”
Cinnamon barked in response, and Yoosung couldn’t hide the smile it brought.
“Let me cuddle MC…!” Yoosung groaned, squeezing one of Cinnamon’s pads. “You got them this evening!”
You heard a fussy growl.
“This is not up for negotiation!”
Yoosung planted Cinnamon at the foot of the bed, but the puppy would wrestle with Yoosung’s feet beneath the sheets all night in outrage.
In the morning, Cinnamon had squeezed himself between the two of you, and once again declared himself the victor of the fight.
This situation carried on again and again for the following days. Yoosung, constantly battling between his obvious love for you and the utter adorableness of the puppy, and Cinnamon, who was blissfully unaware.
It’d occurred when You and Yoosung were cooking dinner. He’d been making an effort to teach you, and soon it’d become a weekly tradition to try something new. Tonight was Japchae, and while Yoosung managed the beef you were handling the noodle simmering in the boiling pot.
Yoosung, knowing the recipe well enough to do it with his eyes closed, often found himself distracted. This distraction was sneaking kisses. Each time you nearly spilled the pot in surprise, but you supposed you didn’t entirely mind the affection.
With so much going on above him, Cinnamon, naturally, became curious. He tapped at your pant leg until you took notice. You lifted him up, holding Cinnamon close to your chest and allowing him to look over the whole kitchen counter. His eyes widened like dinner plates at the smells, especially that of the beef marinade. Soon enough, his jaw was hanging in delight and his tail was wagging rapidly.
“What’s he doing?” Yoosung asked, now slicing carrots into short, thin strips. “What if he sheds onto the noodles?”
You hid part of your face behind Cinnamon, tipping the pup from side to side playfully. “That’s why he’s staying close to me!”
Yoosung huffed. “He’s going to ruin the dish! He’ll slobber in the water!”
“No, he won’t! Cinnamon is very well-behaved!” You raised your voice to be higher, mimicking what you thought Cinnamon’s voice would’ve been. Perhaps you were lucky Cinnamon had no idea that was what you were doing, because you felt rather silly. “‘Yes I am, Mr. Yoosung! I’ll be good’!”
“Yeah, you will! You’ll be good at taking up all of their attention!” He tapped Cinnamon’s snout, frowning.
At that moment it clicked, and you grinned. You took a few steps closer to Yoosung, pushing forward Cinnamon’s leg to smush against Yoosung’s cheek.
“‘Are you jealous of me, Mr. Yoosung~?”
Your husband’s cheeks began to burn a bright red. “I-I am not jealous of a dog!”
You lowered Cinnamon back to your chest, doing your absolute best to swallow your laughter. “Oh my gosh, you’re jealous of the dog.”
“I am not!” Yoosung’s voice got higher and higher with embarrassment.
“Did you think I would leave you for Cinnamon? He’d become the sole focus of my life and leave my dear husband in the dust?”
Yoosung made a humiliating groan. “It sounds so silly when you say it like that!”
You snickered and set Cinnamon on the ground before kissing Yoosung, the man leaning so forward into you, you both almost tumbled over the counter. When you parted, your foreheads still pressed against one another and flecks of his golden curls brushing against your cheeks.
“It might’ve been a little silly.”
You were actually broken apart by Cinnamon, winding between your legs and barking, eager to be brought back up. It was a request that couldn’t be denied, and Yoosung hoisted him up, the puppy licking his fingers and yipping excitedly.
Yoosung could never resist an animal for long. And at that moment, Cinnamon went from a guest to a part of your family.

The sun is setting like a dream, you can’t say you’ve ever seen it shine so beautiful. The sky looks like a peach painting that shyly fades into a heavenly deep-blue. It’s a perfect evening, the air smells of the flowers growing on the porch and it delights your senses. He’s chasing you barefooted across the grassy yard, like two children playing tag at the peak of spring. Out of breath, he finally catches you and you fall back into the checkered blanket, too tired to run off again.
After seeing you enjoy the balcony so much, he introduced you to his lavish backyard. Aside from the large stone patio and pool attached to it, the yard expands at least an acre and it’s well-groomed. Early in the evening, you moved to spend some time on the patio, a pencil, and paper in hand. Taehyung had some work to do so you had a few hours to yourself, you used that time to think and write. After a few hours, you could no longer resist the urge to take a dip in the crystal clear oasis.
With a t-shirt and underwear, you eased into the cool water and breathed a sigh of relief. For what could have been an hour or two, you weren’t counting, you swam on your back, staring up at the clear sky, wondering if you’ll ever feel peace like this again. When your eyes shut, your thoughts seem to align, and for the first time since you’ve been here, you felt like you were where you were supposed to be. As much as you cherish your life alone, your independence, and innate desire to prove that you can make it on your own—it seems Taehyung is worth giving that up.
That would have sounded crazy weeks ago, but it’s how you feel. That night that you confessed that you wanted to be with him, you meant it. You don’t know when it happened, maybe when you kissed him and he picked you up when you woke up to him fast asleep with a pillow in his arms. Or maybe it was when he suggested you help him bake since he knew you wrote so much about food in your articles, you’re not sure. But somehow, sometime after learning his name, you think you fell in love.
When you were with Jin, you had similar feelings to this. You knew you were in love when you had the urge to smile even when you were hurting just to make him smile. That feeling of unexplained self-sacrifice, something as small as a smile, you’d force it out if you knew it would help him. With Taehyung, it seems like he will do anything to make you smile sometimes, even when you know he’s keeping stressful things from you. Is that love? You think so.
You sigh, still feeling a bit wet from your swim a while ago but you’ve dried mostly. He fussed at you for not showering straight away but you said the sun would dry you well enough until your shower tonight. It’s dusk now, and your out in the grass, laying happily on the blanket with him. A few minutes ago you found out that he had pretty lights adorning the patio. He said he’s had them for a while but hadn’t turned them on until today. It casts a warm light out into the grass, you tell him he should turn it on more often.
”You should shower before you catch a cold,” He stresses for the second time. You find his worry endearing but negotiate five more minutes, and he caves. It’s been a while since you’ve been outside like this. He knows this, that’s why he’s laying shoulder to shoulder with you as you gaze up at the night sky. “Sorry I had so much work I had to do today, hope you weren’t too bored out here,”
”It’s fine, I was writing anyway...”
”You were writing?” He turns on his side, curiosity piqued. You nod, hands searching for the pencil and pad you had on the blanket.
”Mhm, I used to write poetry when I was in high school. I wasn’t very good and some of it is kind of cringe now that I look back at it, but I enjoyed it. I haven’t written in so long, I thought I’d give it a shot,” You grab the notepad and look up at it, eyes skimming over the gray hue from all the erasing. You catch him trying to peek over and you hold it to your test.
“Don’t look, it’s not good,”
He pouts, hand moving to intertwine with yours with puppy-dog eyes.
“Come on, you’ve never shared your personal writings with me before,” He pouts, leaning closer to you in hopes that you might succumb to the allure of his gaze. “Pleeease?”
”Fine,” You sigh, “but you have to read it yourself,” You lift the notepad in surrender, handing it to him.
He sits up and the feeling of anxiousness comes to a halt when you realize one important fact; it’s Taehyung. Not a supervisor critiquing your rough draft or a teacher judging your ability to recite your understanding of the class’s latest assignment. It’s him.
I’ve been given a universe, all for me. My very own stars in your eyes, I can stare at you forever. The remnants of your every gaze births a galaxy and I draw up the constellations by the reminisce of the pattern of your touch on my skin. I, too, have given my universe to you. Though I’m innocent to the stars in my eyes, the constellations I paint on your skin, all for you. No event is there more beautiful than the moment our eyes meet, our nebulae collide. A merging occurs, giving life to new stars that are our own, creating a galaxy that holds a shape that can only be defined by fate. In that sweet moment, we create an intertwined constellation, a design filled with millions of our old and new stars, shining brighter than ever,
“In your universe, my universe...” He reads the last lines softly. Setting the pad down with an expression that you can’t quite read, he just looks at you and you start to feel nervous.
“I just,” You bite at your lip and look up at the night sky that’s beginning to show the stars, “I had this idea about space, it’s a little different but it took me hours to come up with...I’m rusty.”
He props himself up and leans over you, gazes searching for yours with a tender close-lipped smile. He holds his hand to his heart, “That was so beautiful.”
You cringe, pushing his chest so he can roll back on his back. “Oh stop, now I wish I wouldn’t have shown you,” It’s hard to tell if he’s praising you or teasing, it seems like it’s one in the same sometimes.
“I’m being serious, I can feel the emotions you’re conveying in your words, I really get it…” He looks a bit surprised that you’d think he was teasing you about this, he leans back over you.
“You mean it?” You look into his eyes, wondering how anyone could be capable of making you feel so special like you’re the only person in the world. Without a word, he presses a firm kiss to your lips and you sigh, he means it.
He gets you to go inside and shower before it’s too dark outside, you both shower and the warmth calms you. Dressed in a matching pair of gray and green pajamas that he recently purchased, long-sleeves but breathable. For the first time, you two lay in bed and watch movies together. You had debated over watching either Whisper of The Heart or My Neighbor Totoro, you settled on My Neighbor Totoro.
You’re comfortably propped on your pillow and curled slightly on your side. Taehyung is laying on his side as well, one leg was thrown over you and one hand holding yours. He’s like a big teddy bear, soft and comforting in every way. He’s so warm, his fingers are so long and he engulfs your hand, his leg is pinning you down but you find it comforting.
He’s laying on the pillow beside yours, eyes lingering more on you than the movie, but he glances at it every so often. Ever since that moment on the blanket in the yard with you, your poem had been on his mind in the best way. The thought of you writing that with him in mind, it makes his heart flutter.
“Baby, I can’t stop thinking about your poem,” He grabs your attention from the enthralling scene on the TV, “I know you think I’m messing with you but I’m not, it’s touching,” He admits with a little laugh, “what is it about?”
“It was my expression of platonic love and physical love, the love I’ve experienced in my life, what I think is love, our love...” You shyly say that last part, gripping his hand a little tighter.
He hums, thumb rubbing your knuckles gently. ”Our love? I knew it,” He smiles, a sweet smile on his face as he scoots closer to you if that was possible. “I had my suspicions that it was about us,” He cups your jaw, leaning over you.
“The part where it says, when our nebulae collide, giving life to new stars, creating a constellation that can only be defined by fate,” His mouth gapes a bit, tongue moving absentmindedly, the usual look when he’s thinking.
“That part, that part is my favorite I think,” He gently kisses your forehead and you let out a little laugh that makes him smile in adoration, “it sounds like us,”
“It’s about us, but it’s about you more than anything,” You mumble, moving your hand up to tussle his hair softly, “you’re a bit more poetic than I am, I think.”
The movie is nice white noise to his low breathing, the sound of his mouth meeting your skin. His lips graze under your ear and his hand goes to the underside of your other ear, messing with your senses. He abruptly moves, causing your hand to fall from his hair as he moves to make space for his thigh between your thighs.
“When we lay together like this,” He smirks to himself, leaning his face just centimeters over yours, “enjoying each other's company and smiling, I feel so lucky,” He kisses down your jaw to your neck, praising you—you blush.
You’ve come to love this.
The barriers you once had have crumbled down a long time ago. Taehyung has shown you what love is, what it feels like. He keeps you safe, he wants to protect you at all costs and that means keeping you here.
“Wait,” You whine, the butterflies in your stomach were swarming happily, you push him away.  “l- let me see your face,” Taking the hand that was once in his, you lift his face to meet yours. “I love your face, you have the best face.”
“Oh, you think so?” He let’s a little abashed laugh, “Thank you.” With a tender smile, he gives you a nice long look, nothing but adoration in those big round eyes.
“It’s true,” You grin, still in awe that he doesn’t understand his own beauty. It’s sweet looking at you, seeing your dreamy eyes, those pouty lips, makes him want to eat you. But he settles for breaking the eye-contact and kissing you. Mouth wide open, giving way to his oral fixation. You’ve had very few relationships, but from what you can compare him to, Taehyung knocks the competition out of the water in terms of affection. How he manages to cloud your senses till you’re raw with love amazes you. The rush from it is something you’ve never experienced before.
You’re pushed and pulled, but there’s no hostile battle, no attempt to coax the other into a preferred position, everything sets naturally, as it should. It’s how it’s meant to be, everything fits just right, and he aches to stay this way. He pulls away from the kiss, leaving you breathless and a bit confused. You lean up to try to get him back, but he moves his head away, cooing when you let out a disappointed mewl. “What’s wrong? Did I do something wrong?...”
“Oh no, sweetheart, you could never,” He thumbs at your cheek, “I just want to talk for a second.”
“Oh,” You purse your lips in thought, “okay, about what?”
“I’ve never had a reason to be anything for anyone before, until you, isn’t that crazy? I’ve never been this close to anyone like I am to you. I look at you and it makes me realize how lucky I am. I get to see your beautiful face,” He pecks your cheek, causing our face to flush, “how your beautiful mind works,” He pushes your hair back, staring at you sparkling eyes, “your body that just fits me so well, like a glove,” He drags a hand down your clothed abdomen and to your hip, resting his hand there with a gentle press with his  fingers, “you’re perfect...”
“I’m not perfect,” You swallow, turning your head, which apparently meant to him that you wanted some more attention because he kisses at your skin again, “Tae,” You gasp, tears pricking at your eyes for a quarter of a second, you’re just excited, “don’t paint me out to have no flaws, the last person who did that was terribly disappointed,”
“You mean Jin,” He scoffs when you nod. This is not the ideal time to talk about your Ex, but leave it to you two to turn every conversation in a weird direction, “That doesn’t seem like reason enough to leave anyone,” His brows furrow deeply, obviously offended.
“It was a mutual disappointment, we wanted too much from each other. I wasn’t willing to give anymore, and he just didn’t see the point anymore, it was for the best but I don’t think it was easy for either of us.”
“Well,” He breathes against you, “I don’t know the guy but I know you, and that tells me one thing, it was his loss,” You squint, breath stalling when he leaves a particularly lazy kiss to your lips before pulling away with a smack, “he had to be out of his mind to want to leave you, to leave this...”
“Or to stay,” You clear your throat, “it could have gone both ways,”
“Well, you don’t have to worry about me, I don’t want to leave you, I want you with me always,” He lets himself drop on his side behind you, hand on your side, voice just a whisper, “I gotta have you, I love you that much, I need you that much...”
“Tae,” You try to sit up but he moves to get behind you, spooning you like a pillow to his chest while taking your hand. You look back so you can see his face and he moves over you so you don’t have to stretch too much, “I’ve been meaning to ask you something...”
“What is it?” He nuzzles his face against yours almost like a cat would, he’s a complete softy, ugh, it’s so cute. “Ask me anything,”
“What’s the one thing you want out of life?... I mean, if you didn’t have your job or you had the chance to make one wish come true, what would it be, what do you really want?”
Grinning ear-to-ear, he boops your nose with his finger, “You.”
“I’m flattered, but besides me,” You gaze down at his hand, “I’m being serious, there has to be something out there that you want...”
“There is,” His eyes drift to your twiddling fingers, “Years ago I built up the courage to look for my birth mother, found out she lives in a different country, she’s married and has two little boys...My half brothers. I used to think about what it would be like to meet them, how they’d like me,” The thought of Taehyung having a relationship with them warms your heart, “it’s a scary thought, but I want to see them one day.”
“Aw, you have little brothers...That’s really sweet, I hope that happens for you one day, I really do...Is there anything else?”
“I’ve always wanted a family, it’s something I used to dream about a lot, but now I have you,” He props his head upon his hand, his other hand still in yours, “we’re like a tiny family, the two of us.”
“Yeah, we are, it’s nice,” When you and Taehyung have pillow-talks like this, he becomes so pure and honest, it makes your heart melt. Just thinking of what he’s gone through in his life, and who he’s become over the time you’ve been together, it might sound cliche but he’s a miracle.
“There’s another thing,” He rubs his thumb against your hand, “I want a baby one day in the future, maybe after I’m married, or just whenever the time is right.”
“Really? I could see that, I know you really love kids and babies.”
“I’d love a kid of my own, maybe a few,” He can’t contain his little grin at the thought, “that would be so nice...”
To be a dad. That’s definitely a wish Taehyung would have, and you hope with all your heart that he gets that one day. You just lean further back into his chest, breathing in tandem with him.
“Love you,” You mutter, squeezing his hand tighter, praying that the walls that once kept you apart would never return. You’ve realized that there are some connections so strong, so meant to be, that no matter the circumstance, those two individuals will meet.

“How’s the investigation going? Jin told me you reached out the other day,”
The busy lawyer sets his freshly ordered coffee in his cup holder as he drives off to his highly-decorated firm.
“I did, the case is more complicated than I initially thought,” Yoongi poured the subpar coffee in the Styrofoam cup, it’s 6am and he’s trying not to be grumpy, “if I’m right about my suspicions, it’s a fucked-up situation.”
“What’re you thinking?”
Yoongi looks around, seeing that the only person around was the woman at the desk. “The girl, along with the other individuals at that conference, was targeted. I got the names of the parties at the conference, they’re politicians of course but the details of the meeting were never released. I have a theory,”
He lowers his voice, looking around one more time before sipping his coffee, “I think someone at that conference had the other journalist killed. I went over each autopsy file and those people died from unusual things, but not unusual enough to suspect at first glance. Most of them died from too much of a medication that they were already taking, things like that. But this girl was abducted and I don’t know why,”
Jungkook makes a thoughtful noise. “What’s different about her that not like the others?”
“She went missing a little over a month after the others were found dead. It looks like a mistake to me,” He paces, “I don’t know if I’m being too outlandish, but I have a feeling she’s alive, we just need to find her,”
Jungkook responds with how he feels about it but Yoongi has to cut him short when Eunwoo walks into the station.
“You’re here early, Min,” Eunwoo smiles, beckoning Yoongi to follow him to his office, “I have some good news and some bad news, which do you want first?” Eunwoo leads Yoongi into his office and sets his briefcase down so he can pull what he needs out.
“Surprise me.”
“No luck on finding any leads for you on the Hwan group,” He takes a seat, opening one of the Manila folders, “they’ve been under the radar for years, I hope you can find something on them.
“And the good news?”
“It took a lot to pin him, but we’re bringing in Senator Leu for questioning.”
“Good, I think they know something that they’ve been trying to keep under the rug.”
“Yeah, I agree.”
Yoongi gets up, hand tight on the flimsy cup, “If you could give me a call before the questioning so I can come by, I’d appreciate it. I’m going to do a little digging into this Hwan Group, see if I can get some info that’ll help,”
Yoongi leaves the building with a to-do list but little does he know, detective Na Jaemin, knocking on on Eunwoo’s door.
“Come in,”
“Hi,” Jaemin slips into the room, an unusual grin on his face, “how are you?”
“Um,” Eunwoo looks around, confused as to why he’s approaching him like this but he shrugs, “good, is everything okay, detective?”
“Everything's fine,” Lies, “I just had a question about that PI, Min Yoongi,”
“Shoot,” Eunwoo awaits his question.
“Why is he so adamant about keeping this case open? I mean, I’m a detective on the case and I think we should start searching for the body,” His tone sounds innocent but he’s trying to sneakily plant this idea in Eunwoo’s mind, “we could be wasting precious time, the family deserves closure and we’re just dragging it on.”
“Detective Na,” Eunwoo stops looking through the folder, “given the other related cases, we have reason to believe she might be alive. Not every abductee is killed, even if that tends to be the case.”
Jeamin swallows, trying to think of how to save himself, “I know, I’m not saying that we should be pessimistic but realistic, rather.”
“I get what you’re saying, but on what prescient you’re saying it, I don’t know. I, and many of the others in this case, have reviewed the evidence and compared it to the other cases, it doesn’t add up. After the questioning today, we’ll talk, until then, your efforts need to go towards finding her alive and well,” Eunwoo walks past Jaemin and the detective gets the memo to get out of the office.
“Absolutely, sir,” With a feigned grin, he watches Cha Eunwoo go off to do his job while he fights the urge to scream.
It’s way too close now. They’re so intent on finding you. The Hwan Group has never been found out, it hasn’t happened in the history of the group's existence. Minho’s not gonna like this.

“Girl, your deadline is in three days, why don’t you head home? You have time to finish it tomorrow.”
Suzy looks over your shoulder, eyeing your computer and the thousand words you were trying to edit. You’ve been at the desk since 8 this morning, it’s almost 6 o’clock at night and it’s kicking your butt. The flow isn’t coming to you anymore, your mind is too  “This is terrible, I suck at this crime stuff...” You face plant on your desk, “Like, this is sad.”
“Boss thinks you’ll do a great job,” She leans against your desk, her keys jingling in her hands, “plus, Angela is on maternity leave, you were the easiest replacement.”
“I just, I’m not in a good mindset right now,” You shut your laptop, eyes lowering to our desk, “I’m having problems with my love life, it’s, uh, – not doing so well. I’m sorry, I think I just need to sleep it off,” You take your laptop and tuck it in your tote bag, eager to get away so you don’t cry in front of her, “or drink it off, whichever I get to first.”
“Y/n,” She places a hand on your shoulder, “do you want to talk about it?” That’s the one thing about Suzy, she’s more than a nice supervisor, she’s a friend. But you can’t imagine putting your relationship issues on her, she’s got a fiance to go home to, you don’t want to send your problem with her.
“No, no, I’m okay, you- You know how it is,” You feign a smile, hoping she’ll be convinced enough to let it go, “it’s just your usual boyfriend-girlfriend stuff,”
“Okay,” You mentally sigh in relief because she looks convinced, “well I’m here if you ever need to talk, see you tomorrow!”
The drive home was good, it helped clear your mind, it’s what you needed. When you walked into your empty apartment, you resented its vacancy. What you told Suzy was a half-truth, it’s more than boyfriend-girlfriend stuff, you’re dealing with the sudden absence of a boyfriend. For lack of a better term, you got dumped. But you saw it coming, you two weren’t seeing eye-to-eye, it would have been a disservice to you both if you kept dragging it on. Yesterday, you and Jin met at your favorite Italian restaurant and he said what he had to say.
“We can’t keep doing this,”
“I know.”
You remember moving your fork through your salad, trying not to look him in the eye.
“I still care about you, okay? We should still be friends,” He was letting you down easy, it needed to happen like this.
“Of- of course, I agree...” You looked up at him, forcing a small smile. That’s how that went. The waiter had pity on you and kept coming back to refill your salad when Jin left, he had an early shift at the clinic the next morning.
The pasta didn’t taste the same anymore and your salad became very sad to your taste-buds.
Now it’s just you and your trustworthy friends, Mr. Couch and Mrs. TV. An old movie flickers on the screen and you can’t follow it, maybe that’s just the wine talking.

He told himself he wouldn’t do it, he swore he’d never do it. But he found himself on the internet searching her name, his mother's name. And after hours of looking, he found her. From what he could tell, she was still living, but her last name had changed. Not only that, but she had two little boys with her in a picture on one of her social media. She doesn’t live in the country anymore, she’s off in some foreign country, living a life quite contrary to the one she was living when she had him. To see her smile, to see her living a life without him, completely unaware of the man he is now – it hurts.
He shuts the laptop and stares at the TV in front of him, watching the old movie with blank eyes. On nights like this, he realizes how lonely he is. He lays on the couch, feeling as if he was cheated of an alternative life. He could have been the smiling boy in that photo, he would’ve been a good son, right? She could have smiled the same way if it were him next to her, with his half little brother.
At times like this, he finds himself wondering what his name would sound like on her tongue, she did name him after all. But his name is the only thing she left him with. Kim Taehyung.
Tumblr media
This is bad, this is all bad.
The PI made contact with one of their middlemen last night. It’s likely that the payment and agreement form was leaked. Minho was pissed, if he ever finds the guy he’ll kill him. As far as the case goes, the feds aren’t backing away from the case either, not at all.
During his morning jog around the stately mansions neighboring his own, the thoughts that come to his mind are more than unpleasant. He’s never doubted Taehyung before, but he’s getting pushed into a corner here. The thought that Taehyung might not have gotten rid of you plagues his thoughts. However, Taehyung is the best, he’s never screwed up a job before. However, the only way he can get the truth is if he calls Taehyung. He has to tell him to release the whereabouts of the body so they can cover it up.
Taehyung glances at his phone from the shower, it’s Minho. His heart drops into the pit of his stomach. For a moment, he thinks about ignoring it, but that would only delay the inevitable. Wrapping a towel around his waist, he stumbles out of the shower to grab the phone.
“Hello?” Taehyung answers calmly.
“Kim,” Minho chirps, “how are you?”
“I’m fine,” Taehyung furrows his brows in suspicion, “you?”
“To be honest with you,” He breathes and out, “not good. I don’t know if you know, but that case is blowing up. The damn PI is on to us and he’s egging the guy over the case on. The contract was leaked. They’re bringing people into questioning- This doesn’t look good for either of us,”
“What does that have to do with me?”
“It was your job, Taehyung – it has everything do with you.”
“But what do you want me to do? I can’t stop the investigation, I did the job, what happens after I get my pay is no longer in my hands.”
“Do you not remember what you did? She was the only target you took, you didn’t leave the body to make it look like an overdose or a typical homicide, you kidnapped her. I don’t care what you’ve done with her, that’s your business, but reveal the body, then we’ll arrange a cover-up and this will all be over,”
“I can’t do that.” He replies simply.
“Why not?”
“I just can’t.”
“Give it up, Kim! Is she at the bottom of a lake? Did you burn her to ashes? Bury her? Look, I’ve been patient, but if I don’t get the location of the body, your job is on the line, and the reputation of the organization,”
Taehyung doesn’t say a word.
“Is she dead, Taehyung?”
Continuous silence pangs over the phone.
“If you wanted to start this whole rogue thing, you could’ve waited until your contract expires next year-”
“That’s not what it is.”
“Then what is it? Is she dead or alive? Answer the question.
Taehyung looks up at the mirror, for the first time feeling like things are truly crumbling around him. “I did the job.”
“Okay, y ‘know what? Fine. I tried to do this the easy way, but you leave me no choice. Reveal the body in the next 24 hours, or I’m sending a team to make you reveal it. I’m sorry it has to come to this, Taehyung. There are more important things in life than some girl-”
Taehyung hangs up the phone, slamming it on the bathroom counter, nearly cracking the screen. Some girl – just the way you’re being referred to makes him upset, you’re not just some girl. Had you two met in a different life, in a different way, things would be so much easier. But this is how you two met, he took you and somehow, he was shown incredible mercy. You fell into his arms and he into yours, it was just love, simple as that.
The patio is lined with Taehyung’s art and yours, the most recent ones. Some canvases are messy, art-pieces born of pure-play. Others are more deliberate, like the one you’re painting now. It’s a flower, the jasmine flower in the pot in front of you. It’s been a few hours and even though it doesn’t look that great, you’re trying.
The door creeks but you don’t hear it, you’re too focused and it makes him smile. Only when he wraps his arms around your waist do you acknowledge his presence. He rests his head on your shoulder, “That looks beautiful,” You smile, too caught up in what you’re doing to verbally respond.
"Hey, can we talk for a second?” He gently grabs your wrist to stop your continuous stroking.
“Sure,” You turn around, already anxious. Your eyes waver, hand dropping the paintbrush into the jar.
“We might have to leave for a little while," He steps away, hand massaging the back of his neck.
“The investigation is getting bigger, the police aren’t messing around anymore, they're looking for you. My boss called me, he wants me to give you up because he suspects that you’re still alive. The man who hired me to have you killed got busted, he’s probably being questioned as we speak. If I don’t reveal you in the next 24 hours, they’re going for come for me...For you.”
“Oh...”
That’s the only response that comes to mind.
“So-...So what does that mean for us?”
He takes a seat in one of the couches, elbows propped on his knees, head resting into his hands. He stays like that for at least 30 seconds before lifting his face to see your expression.
“I’m sorry,” He drags his hands down his face, “I don’t know exactly, I’m just trying to figure it out but this PI, he’s not letting up. And Minho, he’s not going to sacrifice his business covering for me all because I fell in love.”
You've been living in a pool of ignorant bliss.
Your family is probably a mess worried about you, especially your mother, your poor mother. You may be in perfect health, but she doesn’t know that. When she watches the news, she hears stories of girls being kidnapped and murdered, unspeakable things done to them. Thank God that’s not your situation, but she doesn’t know that.
Your job, you miss your job more than you realize. Writing day and night, learning new things, meeting new people, you actually miss it. But you’re torn. Taehyung is one of the best things that’s ever happened to you. If it’s possible, you’ve become so relaxed, so at peace with your life. Stress used to be a daily feeling for you, but you don’t feel it here, with him. He looks at you like an angel, like a celestial being sent to save his soul—you don’t deserve that. Throwing all caution to the wind, he spared your life. He kept you safe and hidden from those who wanted you dead. He may not believe it, but he’s a good person, he’s your angel.
“Taehyung,” You take a seat next to him, placing your hand on his thigh so he’ll look at you, “if I wanted to, would you let me leave?”
No, no, no. His heart sinks, eyes building with tears that he quickly wipes away.
“If Minho wasn’t looking for you, and it didn’t put your life at risk...” He trails off.
”It would be hard, but if- If that’s what you wanted, I would...I would let you go.” His nose burns red and he quickly loses the ability to keep the tears from rolling.
“Shit, I- I’m sorry, I’m just- I’m not trying to be so emotional...I just, I put you in a bad situation, and I know you miss your old life,” He turns from you, hiding his face so he can wipe the stray tears, “I’m so sorry I took that away...”
You embrace him, bringing his head to rest on your chest, a few tears rolling down your cheeks when he laments into your shirt. Heaving, breathing hitched, it hurts your heart to see him like this, you feel his pain.
Taehyung struggles with abandonment, loss. He’s shared his past, his childhood, if you can even call it that. The lack of paternal love, isolation and depression, it all shaped him in a way that he can’t shake. It’s apart of him, he didn’t think anyone would ever be able to deal with all of that so he’s pushed it down all this time. But then you came along, and you looked at him with kind eyes, like he wasn’t bad. And he tried to stop it, he tried to ignore it, but he couldn’t anymore, he was in love. He fell so deeply in love so fast, it was scary. He was obsessive at first, he had to be for the job. But even after the job, he kept wanting to know about you, he became enthralled with your existence, it was inevitable, it was fate.
“I want to go home,” He makes grabby hands to your waist as if you’d slip away if he didn’t. “Tae,” He responds with a small sob, “please, look at me.”
Reluctantly, with a blushed nose and gritted teeth, he looks up at you. The once large man, the man who engulfs you in both size and presence has diminished to someone so small.
“My home is wherever you are,” You smile, tears already streaming down your cheeks, “when I’m with you, I’m home...I’m where I’m supposed to be.”
“Y/n, you have to understand,” He sniffles, breathing deeply, thumb rubbing a tear from your supple cheek, “If you go with me, I don’t know if we’ll ever come back here, we’ll have to make a new life for ourselves, somewhere far from what we know. I’ve already taken so much from you...Are you sure this is what you want?”
“This is what I want, for us to be together. So it doesn’t matter where I am,” You cup his jaw with teary eyes, “as long as I’m with you.”

“I’m not talking until I have my attorney.”
The politician sits comfortably in the chair, hands crossed tightly, and posture perfect. After about fifteen minutes, his attorney comes in, pant-suit just as expensive as his suit and aura looking as if she had already gotten her client out of this.
“Lana Garza,” She shakes Eunwoo’s hand and takes a seat, “let’s get this over with, shall we?”
“Alright,” Eunwoo sits at the table alongside another detective, “the conference you held a few months ago, what were you there talking about?”
“Urban housing development, social and civil issues in the community.”
“And are you aware of the 5 journalists found dead just a week after the conference?”
“I heard it on the news, yes.”
“Mr. Leu,” Eunwoo stands up, walking across the one-way mirror that Min Yoongi and a few other detectives are behind, “has it ever occurred to you that the conference got little to no press coverage, that’s unusual for a man of your status.”
“My client has no control over the amount of media coverage he gets on an event, that’s a question you should ask the owner of the venue.” She interjects, causing Yoongi to furrow his brows at her defense, she’s gonna fight tooth and nail for that man, he can already tell. It doesn’t matter though, they have evidence against him. That’s the man that wanted you dead,
“Detective, if you don’t have any better questions for him, I think we’ll be leaving.”
“Okay, I’ll be a little more straight-forward. Did you have any involvement with the death of these five people and the disappearance of this woman,” He opens a folder and they see the picture.
Leu glances down at the photo. There’s a shift in his eyes.
“The woman, her name is Y/F/N, she’s a writer at The Autumn Times. For about a month, she was working on an article about you. On the day of publication, she went missing and the article was nowhere to be found.”
The lawyer glances at the photo. “Are you implying my client had something to do with the disappearance of this woman?”
“Did he?” He glances at Leu. “Did you?”
“Why on earth would I do something like that? If you think I’d even dream of doing something like that, you’re sadly mistaken.”
Suddenly, Yoongi barges in, walk right up to the man in question. “Cut the bullshit, we know you weren’t happy about the article, you didn’t want it to get out that you’re a damn fraud. For whatever sick reason, you thought having innocent people murdered would somehow keep you clean.” He takes out a thin folder, holding it up to his face. “This is the copy of the contract and payment to The Hwan Group with your signature on it.”
Leu exchanges look with the attorney.
“Mr. Cha, can you give Mr. Leu and me a moment?”
Yoongi and Eunwoo leave the room, giving her time to probably compile some type of plead deal.
“We have him right where we want him, couldn’t have done this without you,” Eunwoo stands with crossed arms
“Don’t thank me yet, I’m not sure who did the abduction, they keep those details encrypted. The jobs not done until we find her alive.” Yoongi bites his lip, muttering to himself,
Please be alive...

“Tae, Stop! There won’t be any left if you keep eating it al!”
It’s been a day since Taehyung got that call from Minho, you’re running out of time. But he’s been trying to keep your mind off of it, he made a cake and asked you to decorate it.
You swat at his hand but he gets the strawberry and cream in his mouth anyway. There’s a large mixing bowl of whipped cream frosting for the strawberry cream cake.
“Yes Ma’am, I’m sorry,” He laughs, fleeing the kitchen so you don’t get him with the spoon again, “it’s just so good.” You shake your head, trying to count the strawberries for the second time, hoping you have enough.
“Remember the friend I told you about, who couldn’t come that weekend,” He goes back to his computer on the kitchen island just a few feet away from you, “Yeosang,” You nod.
“Well, he’s back in town and wants to come over.”
You swallow, wondering what that has to do with you, “Okay,”
“I told him about you, he’s a trusted friend and he’d never do anything to hurt me. I think he could help us, wipe us off the grid and get us to a safe place. I invited him to talk about it today, he should be here soon.”
You give up on counting the strawberries and stare at him. “Why are you just now telling me this?”
“I didn’t want you to have anxiety about meeting him,” His tone softens because he knows you’re upset, “I know this entire situation is stressful.”
“Well, I feel even more stressed now!” You cross your arms, the change in your mood catching him off guard. “Why would you do that!? You know I haven’t been in contact with anyone besides you in months, how can I trust that he’s not gonna turn me in or- I don’t know, anything could happen.”
“Hey, I didn’t know it would bother you this much, I’m sorry,” He walks over to you, reaching for your arms but you make your way to the sink to wash your hands, “I wasn’t trying to upset you, you know that wasn’t my intention at all,” He tries to pull ou in to kiss your forehead but you slip away,
“You should have asked me anyway.”
“Y/n, this is hard for both of us, I know you’re scared, I am too. But trust me, Yeosang is a good guy-”
“Forget it, invite over whoever you want, it’s your house,” Cutting his sentence short, you walk to the other side of the island, taking off your apron, “I’ll finish this later, go back to whatever you were doing.”
If a trail of fire could follow you on your way upstairs, the stairs would be set ablaze. The 48-hour count down if nearing the 24-hour mark, it’s getting closer and closer, he’s scared for you and himself. You left the cake half-finished so he calmly gathered the ingredients and put them in the fridge for when you might come back for it. When he hears the sound of the tub faucet he realizes you’re going to take a bubble bath, he forgets about seeing you for the next two hours.
He’s learned to let you have your time, you’re owed at least that. Even though you two are together now and you love each other dearly, he’s been feeling guilty. That’s why if you have a little outburst or mood swings from stress, he dismisses it without judgment—you’re just scared.
*
Ding dong. Yeosang is finally here. From his lonely spot on the couch, he thinks about asking you to come down for a moment, but he decides against it, you’ll come down when you’re ready. With a small smile, he goes to the front door.
“Hyung!” Yeosang throws his arms around a smiling Taehyung. “Sorry I’m late, lost track of time at my folk's place,” Taehyung closes the door and when Yeosang enters the house further, he sees the bowl of fruit on the center table and helps himself.
“You’re good, I’m just glad you could make it,” Taehyung takes a seat on his previous spot on the couch and his friends sits in the recliner beside his, “you don’t know how much help this is for me.”
He smiles, popping a green grape in his mouth. “Anything for my brother, I always told you if you wanted to leave the group, I could help you, I’m surprised you’re deciding so soon,” He gives him a knowing look, “she must really be something, huh?”
“Yeah...At first, I wanted to save her because I just- I couldn’t kill her, and over time she started to trust me,” He sighs, thinking of the bond you two have now and how much he treasures it, “we just fell in love.”
“I knew it!” He giggles, crossing one of his legs under him. “I knew you’d be the first to settle down, you’re such a softy,”
“I know,” Tae leans back, “she’s just- She’s everything to me, she means a lot to me.”
*
You’ve been soaking in the tub for about an hour now, your face is warm and your body is relaxed. The friend he invited is over and you can hear them talking, but you can’t really make out exactly what they’re saying. Some part of you wishes you didn’t react that way with him, you know he’s doing what’s best for you two. After a few minutes, you build up the courage to drain the bathwater and get dressed in a comfy pair of pajamas.
You can do this, go downstairs, he’s doing this for you two. Letting your hair fall on your shoulders, hands tucked in your sleeves to make sweater-paws. Opening the bathroom door, you peek out and you hear a movie on and a low conversation. She’s just a little shy—you hear Taehyung mumble, and you smile at the fact that he’s not trying to force you to come out. With a brave face, you make your way to the staircase and hold the stairwell all the way down.
“There’s a nice little house there, the farm culture is great, you’d like it-” Yeosang pauses right when you reach the last step on the staircase. With anxious eyes, you stand at the end of the stairway, that’s when Taehyung finally looks back to see why he stopped.
“Hi there, you must be Y/n,” Yeosang beams a friendly smile.
Taehyung stands up, hand extended for you to take. Your silences pangs in the room and Taehyung speaks up, “This is Yeosang, the friend I told you about.”
“Hi...” You walk over and take Taehyung’s hand, feeling more secure now that you’re sitting next to him.
”Taehyung told me everything,” He sits on the edge of the recliner, “this must be scary for you, huh?”
You nod, “A little...” Tae gives your hand a comforting squeeze.
“You guys will be alright, there’s a new life waiting for you beyond the next 24 hours.”
“How can you be so sure?...”
”Don’t worry, it’s his job to get people to other countries, wipe them off the grid and give them different lives. You can trust him because I trust him,” You glance up at Taehyung, finding it hard to form a response, to truly believe what he’s saying. He plants a kiss on your forehead with a sight, “Everything will be okay, I promise.”
Yeosang went home that night and you laid on the couch with Taehyung, trying not to cry. Tonight will probably be the last night you spend on this comfy couch. Tonight will be the beginning of a new life and despite how in love you are, there’s no guarantee that this won’t go sideways. Tonight, the moon is full and bright, you can see it clearly through the patio window. The stars around it are also just as beautiful, and it makes you feel peace. The same moon and the same constellations shine for you, they’re always there, adding life to the deep-blue sky. When you look up and see the still beauty of the night and its moon and stars, you breathe in contentment. As long as the moon glows and the stars kiss the dark of night, it’ll be okay – you’ll be okay.

In Memoriam of "Shin Evangelion: Curse"
*The following article contains a full spoiler for "Evangelion 3.0+1.0".*
I sat together with a person who was not in birth when EOE was released, and after watching the film we talked a bit and thought about the people who passed away without ever seeing this. I understand that fans from the old series and those who came from the new series may have very different perceptions of Shin-Eva. So I'd like to first correct a few things I said in my first impressions.
It may be somewhere between an honorable movie and a mediocre movie in general, but as Evangelion, it's garbage.
After about halfway through the two hours and thirty-five minutes, I started to look at my watch again and again. The double ending, which is both a personal novel and a product, was a fleeting fantasy, and the two songs "One Last Kiss" and "beautiful world (da capo ver.)" were not used effectively in relation to the story, only being played in the staff roll.
When I saw the first 10 minutes of the movie that was released last year, I thought that perhaps Paris was chosen as the setting for the story of "humanity fighting together in the face of destruction" or "the expansion of the Eva world (not G Gundam, but G Eva!)", but that was not the case at all. He just wanted to depict the battle using the Eiffel Tower as a FATALITY, I realized that he hadn't made a single millimeter of progress since when he asked Hayao Miyazaki if I could film only this action scene of Her Highness Kushana in the re-animation of Nausicaa, he was scolded, "That's why you're no good!"
At the beginning of the film, they try to carefully describe the things behind the scenes that were not told in Eva Q.  The third Ayanami like the TV version is the main character, and they go on and on about living in the countryside, copying "My Neighbor Totoro". The large family of our parent's home that we go back to during the summer vacation is presented as an image of happiness in life and a decent human being. It is also connected to Gendou's narrative during the Human Instrumentality Project but isn't it too Showa-era and too simple a solution? I am interested in how the young fans who are children of nuclear families who left their large families in the countryside and moved to the city saw the too sudden depiction of "life in the countryside". It was almost a gag to see Ayanami walking around in a plug suit which is a sexual orientation that has manifested itself after Space Battleship Yamato, in the images of pre and post-war farming villages depicted by recent NHK morning dramas. The director, influenced by his wife, must have been immersed in the LOHAS and vegan lifestyle as a fashion statement, which is only possible because he is an urbanite with too much stuff and too much money. As for this theme, it has already been presented in the watermelon field scene in the second film, and it is merely a re-presentation of the same theme in a diluted form.
I've pointed out before that Eva Q is "a crack in reality because of the loss of reality to rely on. "It's rude not to eat what you're served!", Shinji was scolded by Touji's father, who looked like a subversion of Hayao Miyazaki's work (Gedo Senki!). I have a simple question, how can the interior of a house become so old and wretched after only 14 years? How can a community of people of all ages be formed in just 14 years? There was a line that implied that Touji had killed someone for the village, and it is possible that the director had extremely beautified the "Showa era" as a sanctuary where people who are hurt and regret their committing murder during the war as a soldier live nearby, and when he opened the last drawer after using up all the materials, he found the image of the original landscape of his childhood.
Misato and Kaji's child, which is only described for a few minutes, is also abrupt, and I don't feel that it is more than a plot device for the purpose of staging the reconciliation with Shinji later on. Some people seem to be moved by the fact that "behind Misato's cold attitude towards Shinji in Q, there was such a conflict in her mind," but it's the opposite. All the answers are just excuses after wasting nine years of work. Even if the wounds healed and treated with a gentle "I'm sorry," after being beaten severely by a raging DV husband, the fact of the beating would not disappear, and the wife would feel nothing but fear at the sudden change in her husband. To a situation that he had set to minus 100, he spent 2 hours and 35 minutes gradually pouring water drawn from other places and past works to bring it back to zero...I've never seen such a horrible match pump. Well, now that I'm writing this, I'm thinking that I've seen this before.
The relationship between Eva Q and Shin Eva is very similar to the relationship between "The Last Jedi" and "The rise of Skywalker" in Star Wars. In a self-absorbed rampage of conjecture that did not listen to the opinions of others, the historical stage of the series that had been built up was turned into a mess, and then the destroyed story was carefully built up again from the ground using unnecessary length, and only the shape of the story was created to end it without being disgraceful, and every scene that tries to make things more exciting is a copy of past work. As for Star Wars, since 8 and 9 were directed by different directors, I was able to settle my feelings of resentment towards Ryan and gratitude towards Abrams, respectively, but as for Evangelion, the director looks like a child who has been proud to clean up his own mess and have his female cronies praise and pat him on the head. Moreover, what kind of sympathy do you expect when you are told to "I'll make amends" for the mere act of wiping your ass after defecating, in a cool, Showa-era chivalrous tone?
In this film, as a recovery from Q and a summary of new Eva, there are elements throughout the story that critics can easily relate to the old Eva. “Oh, I can talk about this in connection with that!” This is what gives them a good impression and it has nothing to do with how the old fans perceive it. The director seems to have a dedicated person in charge of communicating and negotiating with the outside, but now he wants the critics to communicate with the fans about Shin-Eva. As long as he doesn't speak for himself, he can correct their interpretations later based on the "misunderstandings" of the people in between himself and his fans. This is a very Japanese-style system of surmising feelings, a system of authority that is formed when only a limited number of cronies are informed of the true intentions of the president. If I talk about it in too much detail, right-winged Yakuza will show up very soon, so to make it short, it is an indigenous control structure unique to Japan that originated from the "Mikado behind the bamboo blind". This time the director was very conscious of that, and I was able to see that Eva, who was a challenger, has become an authority that does not tolerate any criticism.
And what fan from the past could enjoy watching the endless battle scenes after Shinji returns to Wunder in the middle of the film? One after another, the sister ships of Wunder appear--there's almost no difference in appearance, but Ritsuko is able to guess their names the moment they appear. Right after the line "I'm pretty sure there's a fourth ship," the fourth ship comes crashing upon them from underneath, with no intention other than to make us laugh, right? As well as the repeated tenseless bombardment fight with no description of damage no matter how many artillery shells are hit, and it's quite painful being poured Asuka and Mari's Me-Strong Battles which are already enough by the time of Q, continuously down my throat like a goose with a funnel in its mouth. There's no way to synchronize my feelings with the screen, and it just creates an atmosphere as if the story is going on with the unattractive super-robot action that I pointed out in Q. It's no use pointing out, but the repair and supply problems of Wille side in a world where the industry has been destroyed were shown in the farming village part, though it was inadequate. But those of NERV side, an organization of only a man and an old man, was completely thrown away.
The last part of the story about the Human Instrumentality Project is like a fanzine where Gendou, Asuka, Kaworu, and Rei are lined up in a row and complemented in turn and then dismissed, whereas EOE was a total complement through Shinji. The director has tried to upgrade his framework by borrowing them from EOE and has failed miserably. Someone who has created works by putting his emotion and flair into a copy has dabbled in copying his own work. As a result, he had to confront his own sensibilities from when he was young and had to compare the old and the new by his old audience. Frankly speaking, only the techniques have been traced, the sound and the screen have become gorgeous, but the emotion and the sense have deteriorated. The face of the giant Ayanami that was replaced with a live-action one -- probably based on the face acting of Shinji's voice actor, and the "untested ordeal" of her tweet means this -- appears in the background like a gold folding screen in the high sand at a Japanese wedding reception. You're getting tired of all this, and you're not making it seriously, are you? The battle between Eva Unit01 and Eva Unit13 in Tokyo-III, which I expressed my anxiety about before the film's release, is a scene where the company's CG team can't produce what the director expects and he is so frustrated that he has the same mindset as in the final two episodes of the TV version, "I'd rather get a minus than a red", and after that, it became like a gag scene, including Eva fights in Misato's apartment and Shinji's school classroom, as if he was staged them in desperation. The side-shooting screenshot of the little Wunder charging at the head of the giant Ayanami is a picture of ”Cho Aniki (Japanese STG)” itself, and it's also meant to be funny, right? It's a series of loose, sloppy, and tenseless scenes that can't be compared to EOE.
What the hell have the CG team been doing for the past nine years, getting paid with no progress and making Eva look like an outdated piece of crap? Didn't anyone have the chivalrous spirit of the Showa era like "Don't embarrass our boss!"? Don't be so relieved when you get the green light! The director has just given up on you! There were a few scenes where the person at the top of the editing and collage, who has been making the coolest pictures, was not given as much good material as he used to be and seemed to make desperate staging in a way that he would never have given the green light in the past. It's been more than 10 years since Xapa was established, but I guess they don't have enough talent to meet the director's vision. Perhaps because of this, the conclusion of the film is exactly the same as the old one, that the director has no choice but to use his personal feelings to finish Eva, but the film ends up being a self-imitation of "Sincerely Yours". It is sad to see a person who "surpasses the original by putting his heart and soul into the copy" start to copy his own past works on the big screen of the theater, because he has become a big name in the animation world after reaching the age of 60, and there are no others left to be copied. However, right after "Komm, süsser Tod" started playing in the old movie, the scene where the titles of each episode and the reverse side of Cels were played in succession was projected on the wall of the studio using a projector -- the title of the new movie was added.  It made me mad and thought, "Don't touch my EOE with the dirty hands of the merchant.  I'll kill you."
The last things that the man who "transfers his own life onto films" presented in his costly self-published private novel were a naked confession of his own mental history up to the point where he met his wife, which he temporarily entrusted to Gendou, and the words "I think I loved you" and "I loved you" exchanged between himself and the former lover who could not be together and themselves who had separate spouses, just a reckoning of the muddled love affair that existed behind the scenes of EOE. I half-jokingly said that the distance between the director and Asuka's voice actor was important for the end of Eva, but it turned out to be true in a different way. During the recording session, Asuka's voice actor was told by the director, "I'm glad Miyamura is Asuka," which sent chills down my spine as it conveyed the horror of a creator who doesn't hide everything about his life and relationships and uses them to create his works.
In the scene where Shinji says "I liked you too" to the adult Asuka, who is wearing a tight latex suit and drawn in a more realistic character design (making us aware of the cosplay by Asuka's voice actor), while she is lying on the EOE beach, I thought "You guys should do this in a coffee shop or something between recording sessions! Don't make us watch middle-aged man and woman having unpleasant conversations on the big screen of the theater!", I almost screamed out. I think that's the scary part, the director's one-sided love for Asuka's voice actor is falsified by having the character say that she liked him, as if it was a mutual love. The director's statement at the beginning of the pamphlet says that he started working on the sequel right after Evangelion 2.0 without hesitation, using the worldview of "Q". I'm not trying to quote the line "You can change the reality you don't like by getting on Eva.", but it's not as if he's trying to cover up the fact, but he really believes that using his strong imagery, and it made me feel a bit chilly that there was no one around to correct his misconceptions.
At the end of Human Instrumentality Project, I wondered if the fact that a senior member of the movie industry had praised the shooting of EOE by flipping Cels over as a "tremendous deconstruction" was still fresh in his mind. This time, too, it was postponed after postponement, and even though the makings have been done in time, he showed the other side of the production with line drawings and roughs. The reason it was so innovative was that it was the first time anyone had tried it then, and now, 25 years later, it's just a rut. It's disgusting that everyone is praising the master's strange drawing habit and saying, "Oh yeah, that's it, that's it." As I've said before, it's like "defecating in a sixty-nine," which was successful because the first partner happened to be a scatologist. The expression of EOE was sharp and ”Rock’n’‐roll”, but Shin-Eva's "fun of anime images" has gone into the realm of traditional art, like slow "Gagaku".
The director hadn't decided who Mari Makinami was for a long time -- he was so indifferent to her that he threw the actor's acting plan to a sub-director -- but with Shin-Eva, he's changed her into an equal to Moyoco Anno, his wife. In other words, the flashy battle in the middle of the film, which is unimportant to many viewers, is revealed to have been a very pleasant pretend play for the director, in which he has his former love and his current wife fight on his favorite robots. Once again, we are shown the director's so-what-attitude, which has not progressed even a millimeter since "I'm an asshole," and which he can complete his work only by masturbation. So it's no wonder that they couldn't depict the extremely simple catharsis of Shinji's great success with Eva Unit01, which is what most of the old fans want. Because a robot with a pathetic old man on board can't get an erection due to impotence, let alone masturbation! Oops, excuse me, sir.
And as I said before, it's time to realize that the English language has become so popular in Japan that it's become lame. You use Infinity, Another, Additional, Advanced, Commodity, and Imaginary, just because it sounds cool to you, right? Everyone criticized the naming "Final Impact", but I never thought I'd see the time when I'd faint from the lack of taste and coolness in Evangelion, such as Another Impact, Additional Impact.
And the ending, with the wedding report in a live-action aerial shot of the director's hometown, newbie fans are screaming that it is like, "They're doing a very positive version of the old "Return to Reality!". But I felt it was too empty and cynical because it was intended to be read that way by the director. It depicts only the elation of marriage, and the pain of getting along with a partner and his or her family with different values is cut off (well, maybe Q was expressing the hardship of married life......). But isn't the emotional weight of a marriage report much higher when you meet your partner's parents? The fact that he ended the movie by showing his own hometown instead of his wife's hometown leaves me with the impression that he's definitively an egotistical geek through and through. "You may have graduated from a good university and are making good money in the city, but if you're not married and don't have children, aren't you somehow humanly flawed?" After 25 years, Evangelion, which was such a forward-thinking Sci-Fi, is now completely in sync with the earthly ethics of Showa-era's farmers and farm horses. "I got married and it saved my life. I don't know about you, but why don't you try?" You can think what you want, but if you want to convey it as a message of salvation, you have to express it in the content of your work, not in your own talk.
I've been married for 20 years, I have two children, both of whom are about to reach the age of adulthood, I've paid off the mortgage on my home, and I'm finally at the end of raising my children, but all of that is just an outer shell of a social skin that has nothing to do with my true nature or where my soul is! There's no connection between what kind of life an individual lives in the real world and the Sci-Fi sense of wonder, in fact, there shouldn't be any connection! If you're a science fiction fan, take a page from the great Arthur C. Clarke! I was a nerd with a negative value of 100, but when I got married, I gradually poured the "common-sense values" of the Showa era into myself, and now I'm a true man with no negative value? Don't write such pathetic fiction proudly! Listen, what you presented to the audience at the end was the same thing that someone would say to you, "You seedless stallion!" It's the same kind of unethical and vulgar message that you shouldn't be giving! The old Eva became a classic of Japanimation, and no one was able to properly scold you, or you keep away those who tried, and the result of this is directly reflected in the ending of Shin Eva! You've reached your 60th birthday and you only have such poor social common sense, damn it!
I'm sorry, I was so excited that I lost my control a little bit, just a little bit. I think the director is relying a little too much on his wife, who is ultimately a stranger on, to be his laison d'etre (lol). If they were to break up in the future, it would certainly be the soil for the next Eva, the content and development of which is completely predictable, but that is no longer my concern. I wonder if his wife doesn't like the fact that he's mentally dependent on her like this, and that it's being shown on screens all over the country. If it were me, I'd be furious, but since she's a creator, I guess she understands how he feels. Ignoring the other person's feelings and continuing to force what he believes to be love on her, thinking that it will make her happy, seems to me that there has been no progress at all since the way he treated his girlfriend 25 years ago. The person I want to hear from the most right now is not the self-proclaimed Eva fans who are looking at each other from the side and giving positive feedback in celebration of the final episode, but his wife. If the director had a child, he would not have been able to distinguish between his own ego and that of the child, and would have doted on his child, making a documentary film about his or her growth, but would most likely have turned into a controlling and poisonous parent in his or her adolescence. And he animated his feelings for his child who was rebelling against him, without the child's permission, considering it as a one-sided redemption for the child, and the child who was exposed to the whole country about their home life would have distanced from his father more and more.
In the end, Evangelion did not become a product like Gundam, but rather a robot animation that was the director's weird personal novel. The repeated use of the word "job" in the film has stuck in my mind, but in order for the studio to survive, it had to make Evangelion a product in this new series, and I'm sure that was the initial motivation behind the production of these new films. Your real "job" was to make Evangelion the same as Gundam, to protect the people who came to you because they loved Evangelion. Years from now, I can see a future where Xapa will be like Ghibli, behead the staff and continue as a copyright management company. The director, who didn't want to be embarrassed as a creator by a new challenge adopted the safe way -- I can't believe that I have to use the word "safe" for Evangelion -- to end the new series that relied on EOE only for himself, not for the future of the people who came to admire him. That's what Shin Evangelion is all about.
The good part? The fact that he didn't bring Shin Ultraman trailer at the end of the film makes me think he has grown up a bit. If you're declaring "Farewell, All Evangelions" with the intention of hurting, disappointing, and disinterested old fans like me, then your malice is unfathomable, and that's quite a feat. Brilliantly, your intentions have permanently killed a part of me that used to be an Eva fan.
As horrifying as it is to imagine, it must have crossed the director's mind to reschedule the film and set a new release date for March 11. The only reason he didn't do so is not that he has grown up to be a sensible adult, but rather because the idea of linking Evangelion 3.0 with the Great East Japan Earthquake was a fact that is too painful for him to make it public.
Ten years ago today, many lives were lost and Evangelion was destroyed.
This fact will never disappear, no matter how much the director denies and covers up with the "true" history. If there is any mission left for me as a fan, it is to continue to pass on this fact to future generations as a storyteller. It is a huge loss for Japanese fiction that the end of the great Evangelion has become a self-recovery work of the great failure of the reboot affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake, and that the potential of the great Evangelion has been consumed by the self-defense of someone who cannot admit his own mistakes, and I sincerely regret it. Shin Evangelion will be forever cursed by the dead, who yearn to see the sequel of Evangelion 2.0, and the living, who yearn to see the sequel of Evangelion 2.0.
This curse will be completed when it spreads, arrives, and is burned by the powers that be as a false history. I pray that my thoughts will reach him!

A SHOUT OUT TO MY FAVE ANIME GUYS - PART 1 (Because they also deserve it, you know....)
Tumblr media
SPIKE SPIEGEL (Cowboy Bebop)
His Deal: Main protagonist of Cowboy Bebop. Bounty hunter born on Mars. A skilled martial artist that practices Jeet Kune Do. Well acquainted with guns. Owns a mono racer Swordfish.
His Criminal Past: Before teaming up with Jet Black aboard the Bebop, he was part of the Red Dragon Criminal Syndicate. But after being tangled up with his former colleague Vicious (and fell in love with Julia), he decided to leave the life of crime. Unfortunately, his past kept on creeping back to him during the course of the series.
Tumblr media
RYUUJI TAKASU (Toradora!)
His Deal: Looks mean but he's actually a good guy. Can make a good house husband since he does all the work in their household. Takes good care of Taiga Aisaka, his eventual love interest.
The Tiger and the Dragon: Taiga and Ryuuji crossed paths on their second year of high school when the latter accidentally bumped into her. Thing got even more interesting when one night Taiga "attacked" Ryuuji in his home to retrieve the love letter intended for Ryuuji's friend Yusaku Kitamura. What's more, Taiga discovers that Ryuuji has a crush on her friend Minori Kushieda. The two then decided to help each other out with their respective crushes. And then chaos ensues... 😅
Tumblr media
ALPHONSE ELRIC (Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood)
His Deal: Younger brother of Edward Elric. After performing human transmutation with his brother to revive their mother, he lost his physical body in the process. His soul is retrieved by Ed, though it is now enclosed in a suit of armor.
Polar Opposites: While his more famous elder brother is a bit stubborn, Al is kinder, more patient. Amidst battling his own insecurities, Al cares deeply to the people closest to him, even risking his own life in the process. Cases in point: Al protecting Xing princess May Chang and his ultimate sacrifice to save his brother Ed, both happened during the Promised Day arc of FMAB.
Tumblr media
ASHITAKA (Princess Mononoke)
His Deal: Former Emishi prince. Have to leave his village to find the cure for the curse bestowed upon him by a demon he faced (in a shape of a wild boar). A skilled archer and sword fighter.
Caught in the Middle: While traveling far and wide in search for the cure, he was caught in the crossfire between to warring factions - the people of Irontown led by Lady Eboshi (one of the most complex antagonist in the Ghibli canon) and the forest creatures, spearheaded by San.
Tumblr media
MAKI SEIJI (Bloom Into You)
His Deal: The Student Council's resident aromantic (though he admires people in love and even gives love advice). The one who first to discover what's going on with Touko Nanami and fellow freshman Yuu Koito.
Yuu's Lifeline: Maki has been a key figure in guiding through Yuu's journey especially regarding her relationship with Touko. His shining moment came in Episode 39 of the manga, during their day-off at the batting range. While Yuu admitted that she does not care about romance anymore, Maki made her realize that: 1) they are not the same (aromantic) as Yuu claimed to be; 2) she's been in love with Touko all this time (as Maki repeatedly telling her beforehand); and she's just running away for the fear of getting hurt. That moment became a turning point for Yuu, as it sets its stage for the fateful Episode 40.
Tumblr media
TOMOMI MASAOKA (Psycho-Pass)
His Deal: Former Detective of the Public Safety Bureau then was demoted to Enforcer after his frustration on the Sibyl System. He was assigned at Division 1, working with the likes of Shinya Kogami and Nobuchika Ginoza. He also has a prosthetic left arm.
Daddy Issues: As he appears to be the father-figure of Division 1, he's actually the biological father of Inspector Ginoza. Although their relationship can be a little strained at times, they do care about each other, esp. when Ginoza seeks advice to her father. Tragedy struck when Masaoka fell into the hands of Shogo Makashima, in an attempt to save his son's life.
Tumblr media
SHUN KAZAMA (From Up on Poppy Hill)
His Deal: Student at Konan Academy. A regular contributor to "The Latin Quarter Weekly", the school's newsletter. Have a bit complicated family backstory (I won't spoil it here for those who have not seen the movie!).
Jackass Moment: In one of the attempts in voicing out their disgust on the impending demolition of the Latin Quarter, the clubs made a bit of a scene during the school's lunch break. Shun - an active supporter to the cause - jumped from the Quarter's rooftop, hit a tree, then fell on a pool full of water. Umi Matsuzaki - the heroine of the movie - lended a hand to help Shun out.
Tumblr media
DUTCH (Black Lagoon)
His Deal: Former US marine that fought in the Vietnam War then went into hiding and become a mercenary. He is the leader of the Lagoon Trading Company.
A Lover Not A Fighter: Dutch is more into negotiating to clients in a peaceful manner and giving orders to the rest of the crew. But he can be one dangerous fellow if the need arises (he's an ex-Marine after all!). But 'til then, he leaves all the dirty work to their resident trigger- happy colleague, Revy.
Tumblr media
NAGISA "NAGI" AMANO (Weathering With You)
His Deal: Hina Amano's younger brother. And he's pretty much a scene stealer in the movie.
Ladies' Man: At a very young age (elementary school age?!?), Nagi has been pretty smooth with girls. This came in handy, when he seeked the help of her girl friends to escape on the foster care facility, and also save Hodaka as well.
Tumblr media
JET BLACK (Cowboy Bebop)
His Deal: The captain of the Bebop. He can be one hell of a tough guy but he knows how to do house chores as well. On occasion, we may see him either cooking or tending his bonsai trees.
The Black Dog: In a series that deals about the past, Jet's backstory is no exception. Before living a life as a bounty hunter, he is a detective of the Inter Solar System Police (ISSP). But during his years as a cop, his girlfriend Alisa left him (as shown in a flashback on Session 10: Ganymede Elegy) and was betrayed by his former colleague Fad during a case against Udai Taxim (another flashback, this time on Session 16: Black Dog Serenade) that cost his left arm (hence why it is in prosthetic) and ended his career in law enforcement.

Local Hero
Local Hero is a movie centered around the growth of character. We the audience follow our main character (Mac) as he represents a large oil company focused on buying a small town in Scotland to transition it to a new oil refinery. Mac is seen as a fairly unlikable character at first, shown to have few in person people skills and preferably doing all business over a phone. He is reluctantly forced to go to this town in Scotland to take care of the transition in person which immediately throws him from his element. Through the movie we see how his character changes and grows as well as a look at how all the other characters around him represent the many aspects of character development. Local Hero at its core is a dry humorous study of the growth of character and a look into the simplicities of life outside of the comfort of what is though to be known. To put it simply, Local Hero dives into what we as people think we need or want out of life. Mac's main counterpart in the movie is the town accountant who is doing his best to string him along negotiations for the town and get as much money as possible. A lot of moments of dry humor with the constant "fish out of water" scenario as well as the corporate CEO Mr. Happer trying to find his true calling. Happer as a character seems very insignificant at first but the more you observe his disinterest in being the leader of a company that he simply inherited, the sooner you realize that he and Mac both show how we as characters discover and find new parts of ourselves to different ways of life. There are multiple characters that show this change and growth in different lights and fascets but it's better for me to let you watch and observe rather than to go into intricate detail on every one.
The acting is fair, it goes well with the dry humor and dead pan comedy the film is going for. Only a few scenes here and there shy from this but it is nothing to observe. The shots in the movie are good, they have a fair amount of establishing shots on location in the small town in Scotland. In fact very little of the movie was shot on sets and the detail of shooting in real locations is nice and noticeable.
Local Hero finds itself at home with a small town feel focusing on common humor surrounding simple observations and understandings. This is where the characters change, develope, and grow. It is very entertaining to observe the different ways the characters make their own observations around them to look back into themselves. Local hero shows itself to be a movie for people looking for a casual watch to get away from regular life. Local Hero is a great watch with some idle moments which break up the pace of the movie occasionally, but the humor and characters lift it above the common crowd. I give Local Hero a 3.9 out of 5 stars
P.S. mark Knopfler helped do the score for Local Hero which has a very pleasant mix of celtic, rock, and jazz music which leaves the ending on a very good note leading into the credits.

“My power is not to destroy. My power is to mend this world. With its creator. With Akane Shinjo.”
- Gridman, SSSS.Gridman (Ep. 12)
This Toonami Trending Rundown is a double-feature for the nights of March 27-28, 2021 and April 3-4, 2021. During this fortnight, we commemorated the final two episodes of SSSS.Gridman.
For the night of March 27-28, Toonami trended in the United States alongside Food Wars, Fire Force, SSSS.Gridman, and Naruto Shippuden. Character trends were also spotted with both Gabi and Falco from Attack on Titan, and Erina from Food Wars. Meanwhile for the night of April 3-4, Toonami trended in the United States alongside Food Wars (including another character trend of Erina), Fire Force, and SSSS.Gridman. #Toonami also trended on Tumblr. The full list, including statistics and tweet counts from the Twitter app and Amr Rahmy’s Fan Screening analytics app, can be seen below.

This likely won’t be the end for Gridman on Toonami, as Studio Trigger is already working on a sequel (albeit with a completely new cast) called SSSS.Dynazenon. The new series premiered on April 2, and is available for simulcast on FunimationNow. Whether Dynazenon will join Toonami as well is a question for the future, but watch this space for future developments.
Another sequel fans will be anticipating for the near future is the second season of MegaloBox, titled MegaloBox 2: Nomad. For those who want to check out the simulcast, it’s available for viewing on FunimationNow. We’ve yet to hear anything regarding production of the dub at this time. The first season premiered on Toonami on December 9, 2018, eight months after its Japanese premiere on April 6. If precedent is any indication, we could see season 2 air on Toonami at a similar timeframe, assuming everything goes well in negotiating. Of course, if you do want to see MegaloBox return to the block, as with SSSS.Dynazenon or any future show, send your show requests to Toonami’s Facebook page or by directly messaging Jason DeMarco on Twitter (@Clarknova1).
After four years and over 170 episodes, the Black Clover anime will be going on a hiatus to allow series creator Yūki Tabata to create more storyline in the manga. For the record, Toonami aired Episode 143 last week, meaning we have 27 episodes left to go in the season. On the 2021 17th issue of Weekly Shonen Jump released during AnimeJapan 2021 week, it was revealed that a Black Clover movie is in the works. Further details are to be revealed in a later date.

Following the Japanese broadcast and simulcast of Attack on Titan Episode 75 (Ep. 16 of Season 4), it has been announced that a second cour of Attack on Titan Final Season is in production. The season will resume with Episode 76 this winter. Toonami premiered the dub of Episode 70 this past Saturday (April 3), so we’ll have 4 more episodes before we reach the mid-season point.
Late at night following end of the April 3-4, 2021 broadcast of Toonami in the East Coast, Warner Bros. and Shueisha were hosting a JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure online event, titled the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure the Animation Special Event ~JOESTAR the Inherited Soul~ in Japan. There, JoJo fans received the news that there will be an anime adaptation of Part 6,titled Stone Ocean. Jolyne Kujo, the protagonist of this arc, will be voiced by Ai Fairouz.
Aniplex and Bang Zoom! has released a new trailer for tonight’s premiere of The Promised Neverland season 2 and revealed some of the newest voice actors. Of note, the English Voice Direction and Adaptation is by Alex von David, taking over for Chris Cason.

Finally, Toonami and Funimation have officially revealed that My Hero Academia will rejoin the lineup for Season 5 beginning on May 8 at 12:30 a.m. Eastern/Pacific. MHA will replace Attack on Titan on the lineup once the latter show goes on its mid-season break. In the meantime, Toonami will be broadcasting an encore run of Season 4 beginning on May 8 at 4:00 a.m.
Tune in tonight for the season 2 premiere of The Promised Neverland, among other great moments. Until next week, stay safe, be sure to visit blacklivesmatters.carrd.co and anti-asianviolenceresources.carrd.co to see what you can do to help the fight against racial inequality, and continue to do your part to stop the spread of COVID-19 and protect others by following your local health advisories. pairing: stiles stilinski x oc a/n: wow, did I actually stick to my promise of updating more often? I guess so. hope you enjoyed this chapter and please tell me what you thought! warnings: mentions of a psychiatric hospital, violence, and angst.  wordcount: 1756

I exchanged a sad look with my dad as he pulled the car up in front of Eichen House, neither of us knowing what to say. So instead we opened the doors and stepped out onto the sidewalk.
I stared up at the building. It was scary as shit. Like something straight out of a horror movie. Normally it would be the last place I wanted to go to. But I knew this was for the best for everyone else.
I felt dad's stare on the back of my neck. This was probably the last thing he wanted to do as well, but at least he respected my choice.
I brought my gaze away from the building when I heard rapid footsteps approaching, followed by the sound of a motorbike. The motorbike pulled up first. A sigh escaped my lips as I saw who it was. This was exactly what I was trying to avoid.
As Scott pulled off his helmet, Valerie appeared beside him, the sound of her footsteps coming to a stop. She braced her hands on her knees and wheezed, trying to regain her breath. Had she really ran all the way here for me?
Scott quickly got off his bike, Valerie following behind him, though still a bit out of breath. Scott looked between me and my dad quickly before asking, "Why didn't you tell me?"
"Because we wanted to avoid something like this," said dad seriously.
"It's only 72 hours," I said.
Valerie turned to me, her facial expression both incredulous and angry. "This is the same place where Barrow came from," she cried. "The guy who had a tumor full of flies and tried to kill me!"
I looked down at the ground. I just couldn't bear looking at her face any longer. It killed me. Cause all I could do was think of what I'd done while possessed, how I'd hurt her, and how good it felt to do so.
"You don't know everything yet," said Scott, his desperate eyes locked on my dad.
"I know enough. Nogitsunes, kitsunes, oni, or whatever they're called."
"No, that's actually all surprisingly correct," I said.
"Scott, I saw an MRI that looked exactly like my wife's... And it terrifies me. I'm headed down to L.A tomorrow to talk to a specialist."
Valerie snorted. "Wow, you found a specialist of evil, Japanese fox-spirits who has the ability to fake diseases?" she said, crossing her arms. "The fact that it looked exactly like your wife's proves that it was just a trick. You don't have to be a medical expert to figure out that that's impossible! This is just another trick to mess with your heads, and leaving for L.A and checking your son into a psychiatric hospital isn't going to solve any of that!" Valerie's voice raised with every word, though she managed to compose herself enough to not start screaming. I could see the angry flare behind her eyes. I needed to redirect that anger towards me. I'm the one who deserved it.
"He's not putting me in here," I said. "I am. This was my decision." Valerie turned to me, the anger in her eyes being replaced by shock and, if I wasn't mistaken – hurt.
"Stiles," said Scott gently, "we can't help you if you're in there." I didn't know which was worse, Valerie's hurt or Scott's sadness.
"And I can't hurt you."
Scott seemed caught off guard, but he immediately recomposed himself, the desperation in his eyes growing as he continued. "Deaton's got some ideas, Argent's calling people... We're gonna find something. And if we can't-"
"If you can't... If you can't, then you have to do something for me, okay? Make sure I never get out."
---
Valerie
Just as Kira was about to knock, Scott appeared on the other side of the door. His eyes widened in surprise when he saw us through the window of the back-door.
"What are you guys doing here?" he asked after opening the door.
"We wanna help," I said as I walked into the house. Kira following after me.
"Not sure that's such a good idea," said Scott as he closed the door after us.
"Because of my mother?" Kira whispered, keeping her gaze on the floor.
Scott shook his head. "No. I know that's not your fault."
"Yeah, but it still feels like it is." Kira glanced at me before looking back at Scott. "And if we can help, shouldn't we?"
"People who help us usually end up getting hurt. Badly," said Scott. If he hoped that would scare us off he was dead wrong.
"Yeah, but we've been practicing," I said.
Scott furrowed his brows. "Practicing what?"
"We've been picking this up really fast," said Kira, pulling the case off of her shoulder.
I nodded. "Like crazy fast."
Kira pulled the katana out of the case, almost impaling Scott in the process. Luckily, Scott's supernatural reflexes allowed him to lean back in time.
"You sure about that?" he asked.
“Sorry. Watch.” Kira turned to me and I pulled out my sword as well. We started swinging our swords at each other. Blocking, ducking, the whole deal. We let out instincts take over and fight for us. We were totally on the same page, in perfect sync. There was a mutual trust between us that surprised me the first time I noticed it when we were practicing earlier. We were both 100% confident that the other wouldn’t hurt us. Even describing what we were doing as fighting didn’t feel right. It resembled more a dance than a fight.
Maybe Kira could really be a true friend. I hadn’t dared to think that this would happen so soon after Erica’s death. And yet – it did.
We finished our dance by striking dramatic poses like we were in a fucking anime or something. We turned towards Scott, who’s expression could only be described as awe.
"Okay. You're coming."
---
Kira and I sat hunched together next to Scott and Allison in between two police cruisers. Scott had explained the plan to us several times, to make sure we didn't forget it. Now I'm pretty sure I could recite it in my sleep.
Inside the delivery-van was a silver finger that contained a scroll with information on how to exorcise a nogitsune. When the coast was clear, Kira and I were supposed to put a tracker on the van. Ethan and Aiden would then meet the van in the middle of the road, pretending that their bikes were broken, and while they distracted them, we were supposed to break into the van and steal the scroll without being noticed.
Easy enough.
Allison turned to face Kira and I. "You're up," she said.
Kira and I exchanged looks before sneaking out from between the cars and running towards the van. We attached the tracker, and just as we were about to run back, we heard the back-door tp the station open. We exchanged panicked looks before quickly crawling to hide behind the other side of the truck.
We heard the deputy open the passenger-door, before walking around to the back of the truck. If he only turned around, he would see us.
But then, the backdoors to the van opened, and a big guy with a shaved head jumped out and dunked the deputy's head against the metal-door, effectively knocking him out.
This could not be good.
We watched as Scott and Allison approached the man as he rummaged through the contents of the van, Allison's crossbow raised. Kira nudged me, and I could read in her eyes that she had a plan. She gestured her head up towards the van's roof, and I understood what she was saying. I nodded and Kira walked towards the back so she could climb up easier, and I stood up, edging towards the corner of the van, ready to jump out.
"We need that finger," said Scott, alerting Bad Guy Number Two to their presence. As he turned towards them, I could see the silver finger we needed in his hand.
Bad Guy Number Two grinned. "Why should I give it to you?"
"There's a briefcase in there with $150,000 in it," said Allison.
"The scroll inside this prosthetic finger is worth three million," Bad Guy Number Two argued, making a decent point. I just kept my eyes on Kira on top of the van's roof, waiting for her to make her move so that I could follow.
Scott tried putting on his best alpha-face. "Give me the finger," he said. Bad Guy Number Two raised an eyebrow. "You know what I mean."
With that, Kira jumped off of the roof and onto the guy's back. I flew out from behind the van, jumping at him from the side. But he just threw Kira off of him and immediately grabbed me by the shoulders and threw me in the same direction.
"I guess negotiations are over."
Everything happened so fast. I hadn't even stood up again when Allison had shot the guy. As soon as he had removed the arrow, Kira and I jumped at him. But he just grabbed us by the throats and lifted us up.
I was desperately clawing at his hand, trying to get him to let me go, but he was much stronger than me. He squeezed my throat hard. Until I could barely breathe and I started seeing black spots. Then just before it was too late, he threw Kira and I against the wall again.
I could barely move, and it was even harder to keep my eyes open, but I managed to stay conscious enough to get the gist of what was going on.
Ethan and Aiden had shown up and were now kicking Bad Guy Number Two's ass. They were just about to land the finishing blow when Lydia, who had come to Allison's aid, yelled at them to stop.
"You want him to come after us?" asked Aiden.
"Scott," Ethan continued. "We've seen guys like this. Trust us. He's dangerous."
"So are we," countered Scott. I certainly didn't feel that way right now, seeing as I hadn't been any help at all in this stupid fight. At least I had fully healed now. Kira as well. We stood up hand in hand, looking to Scott. "And he looks smart enough to remember that."
Scott reached down and picked out the finger from Bad Guy Number Two's pocket.
"We're here to save a life. Not end one."
