General Info
What is UraIchi Week?
It’s a week-long fanworks event to promote the Urahara Kisuke x Kurosaki Ichigo ship. There’s no sign-up, it’s just for fun, and everybody can participate. Completed works and wips are both acceptable, and any type of fanwork (fanfic, fanart, gifsets, etc.) is welcome. NSFW and/or potentially trigger-y content is allowed, although please remember to tag your works properly.
The ship itself can be written romantically or platonically so long as it stars these two characters together in some way. Poly ships are also fine so long as Ichigo and Kisuke are still the focus of the fanwork. And crossovers and fusions are also allowed even if it isn’t one of the given prompts for the event. Basically, anything goes, and the only criteria is that it has to be UraIchi-centric.
Posting:
For those of you with Tumblr, you can tag your stuff with #UraIchi Week 2023 in the first five tags of your post. I’ll be tracking that tag so I’ll see it and reblog it to this blog. (If it’s been a few days since you posted and I still haven’t reblogged it, something probably went wrong, Tumblr’s not always reliable, so just shoot me an ask about it and I’ll reblog it.)
For those of you with AO3, I will create a collection a day or two before the event starts, and you’ll be able to add your work to the collection when you post. (I’ll toss up a notice for everyone once the collection is up.)
And of course we have our Discord server (link is on the sidebar) so if you want to come and talk about what you’re working on or you just want to chat, feel free to join us there!
At this point, the UraIchi Server has definitely gotten a lot bigger than just UraIchi, but we do still have channels dedicated to UraIchi events.
~ Themes
The votes are in and tallied so here are the results that everyone’s been waiting for! It’s your choice whether or not you want to make a fanwork that includes all the themes of that day, or a fanwork for each theme, or a fanwork for just one. You can make something for each day of the week or just one or two days. And if your fanwork doesn’t fit any of the themes, there’s a Creator’s Choice option on the last day so feel free to bring your own ideas to this event. All prompts can be interpreted any way you want as well, it’s entirely up to you, any extra bits I’ve added is just to help get those inspiration bunnies hopping.
An extra note about the sentence prompts: feel free to change the tenses and pronouns as it suits you. If you’re inspired by a sentence prompt, then of course you should include it in your fic (as opposed to the quote prompts which are just inspiration in a general-theme-of-your-work sort of way), but if you need to change the tense from present to past, or if you’re doing a genderbend fic and need to change the pronoun, that’s perfectly fine.
And now here are the prompts:
June 26th, 2023 - Day 1: the passage of time is a game-changer, for better or for worse

We haven't done one of these for a while, so...
A reminder that there's a whole heap of Clintasha goodness in the 'masterlist' tab on the community dreamwidth, with masterlists from past events going back to 2012, plus 'fic' and 'rec' tags for your perusal.
On AO3 we have a bunch of collections for comm events and there's a community: be_compromised tag if you're having trouble filtering for Clintasha as a main pairing or Clint and Nat as the main focus on a fic.
The comm discord has rec and fanart channels, as well as channels for writing help. (This has replaced dreamwidth for most of our discussion / friending / general chat.)
And here on tumblr you can search our blog for 'clintasha', 'clint barton', 'natasha romanoff', 'fanfic', 'fan art', 'gif set', and 'moodboard' if you're looking for anything in particular. We try to reblog as much as we can, but if you'd like to submit anything or think we're missing things relevant to our interests (Clint and/or Natasha, avengers as a team, archery, ASL, comics, MCU...) we'd love to hear about it!
We also do events, most notably a summer prompatathon (coming soon for 2023) and a secret santa exchange, but we've also done remixes, a fix-it fest (looking at you, Endgame), and challenges.
Our corner of fandom is always open to lurking, browsing, creating, cheerleading, and friending <3

Send an ask to this blog or DM one of the mods to request an invite. We talk all things Rexsoka and Star Wars. And you don’t have to be a writer or artist to join in on the fun! If you love Rexsoka, we want you here! 🧡💙
Mods: @whamgram / @ahsokathegray / @darthgoosegoose
Why join the server? You can:
Vote on and suggest monthly prompts
Have a safe space to gush about Rexsoka with other shippers
Take part in special events
Participate in discussion about Star Wars shows, movies, and future projects
Workshop fanfic/fanart ideas with other creators
If that sounds like something you’d want to take part in, then please see our full list of rules for the Rexsoka Monthly Discord server below!
Tumblr media
RULES
1) Must be 18+. This server is for adults only. Any member who is discovered to be underage will be removed and referred to other spaces that support Rexsoka and allow minors.
2) Be respectful towards others. It’s okay to disagree and debate on topics, but keep conversations friendly and civil. Please refrain from bashing or doxxing specific people who are not in this server, including antis. Venting is okay, grabbing pitchforks isn’t.
3) This is a non-discriminatory space. Hateful speech about race, sexuality, gender identity, ethnic background, or disabilities will not be tolerated.
4) NSFW chat is accepted in all channels. Please spoiler tag super explicit content, such as graphic descriptions of sexual acts, xeno, etc. Super explicit discussion about Rexsoka should be done in #thirsty-chat.
5) NSFW images/gifs must be spoiler tagged. NSFW content includes nudity, sexual content, violence, etc. Basically anything that you wouldn’t want your boss getting a glimpse of over your shoulder. Please make sure to also spoiler tag the url for images linked from outside sources such as Twitter or Tumblr; this will hide the thumbnail as well.
6) Spoilers must be spoiler tagged. See “Spoiler Guidelines” below for more information.
7) Triggering content must be spoiler tagged. See “Triggers Guidelines” below for more information.
8) Use appropriate tags in your fics. In addition to trigger warnings, please tag tropes that may not be of interest to all readers. This includes topics like cheating, dub-con, pregnancy, OCs as major characters, crossovers with other fandoms, etc.
9) No clonecest. Clonecest refers to any romantic ship between two clones. This includes sharing fics, fanart, or any other content. We welcome people who ship clonecest, but we do not support its discussion in this space.
10) No Master/Padawan ships. This includes Anisoka, Obikin, Quiobi, etc. Due to the power imbalance, grooming aspect, and underage content that is commonly associated with these ships, we do not support their discussion in our server.
11) No Rex or Ahsoka ships that aren’t Rexsoka. This includes Luxsoka, Barrisoka, Kaesoka, Rexwalker, Rexobi, Codex, OC/reader/"you" ships, etc. We understand there are lots of multishippers out there, but we want this space to be exclusively Rexsoka.
12) Rex and/or Ahsoka having past/present relationships before they get together in fics is acceptable. So long as this content is not explicit and Rexsoka is still the focus/endgame. Please tag this appropriately and give a content warning when sharing your fic in the server.
13) No underage Rexsoka, unless it’s platonic. This means no content where Rex is an adult and he is sexually attracted to Ahsoka when she is a minor. Unless their ages are adjusted, no explicit romantic content before season 7. Pre-relationship fluff and Ahsoka having a baby crush are acceptable.
14) Do not share/repost content created by server members without their explicit permission. There may be instances where fics, art, headcanons, and general chatter is only intended to be shared in this private space.
15) Be respectful of the mods’ decisions and do not attempt to “mini mod”. If you see something that you think violates a server rule or have concerns about how a situation was handled, please DM one of the mods. In our efforts to keep channels clean and on topic, mods will delete any messages related to the incident after it is resolved.
16) The mods have the right to remove a member who is not in compliance with these rules. If a member is continuously violating rules, harassing other members, or otherwise impeding the enjoyment of the server for other members, the mods will determine a corrective action to be taken.
*Spoiler Guidelines and Trigger Guidelines (along with the above rules) can all be found in the server under #rules-and-guidelines.

Heey I really like your Stolitz and Helluva Boss Takes! They are very insightful and interesting to read. Your circus theory is adorable :)
I’m wondering, why do you think this fandom in particular is… so rabidly against media literacy. I too am an old trooper from the Destiel days and I remember the days when internet fans would beg for more complex characters that have grey morality. Also when people would BEG for gay representation like this. I’m so confused man. The “vivziepop critical” hashtag just makes me depressed. So many people seem obsessed to criticize this show and I don’t get it. I haven’t seen this much hate since Twilight. Also did the mistake of checking twitter… Also, why do people act like one person did everything when animation is a highly collaborative medium and there are 100+ creator names at the end of each episode? I’m so confused because I’ve enjoyed the show so much and went online to find fanart and fanfics and found… insane levels of hate and projection?? Why does everyone and their dog want to cancel this woman for making an animated TV show with millenial style sensibilities? Why are they saying the writing is horrible and atrocious when I personally think it’s better than Family Guy, Big Mouth, American Dad and many other adult animation show’s writings? I’m so curious because I’m from Eastern Europe and it feels like something particular about american culture doesn’t click to me in all of this…
Thank you so much Nonnie! If nothing else I might illustrate Blitzo’s little circus with everyone in their roles. I’m working on a Stolitz piece I am VERY excited about but maybe after that.
As far as your question. Whooboy is that a question I have both given a lot of thought to and found no real satisfactory answers, but I have some ideas.
I think it’s a mix of things and I think a huge part of it is the medium and the accessibility of the creators combined with the show reaching a huge internet audience other fandoms don’t really normally touch.
The audience numbers for both of the Spindlehorse/Vivziepop properties are ENORMOUS. On the main channel alone an episode will reach 20+ million views. This doesn’t include other channels that take the same episodes and put them on their channels and reach several million as well. The Nielsen numbers average around the 18-20 per episode but Nielsen ratings are a flawed metric especially with internet based media. We’ve seen some of the Amazon numbers as well and they are insane.
We also live in a time where people are under an extreme amount of scrutiny all hours of the day, the likes of which we really don’t have a comparison for in human history and we have a independent creator who was largely available to that fandom for a long period of time. A lot of media properties are corporate, are sanitized and managed by large PR firms. I think VivziePop said some things before she had fully grown and developed as a person that people latched onto as a core belief system, something the internet is really good at. There also isn’t a lot of grace given to people who change their views after taking in other viewpoints and information. If you say something it will live on in infamy and I think some of the hate stems from that.
I went into it a little in this post here that I just don’t think people are aware of the creative process that goes into making such a thing. An indie creator has to be way more transparent than a corporate entity to get the funding they need and that transparency builds expectations with people who can’t grasp that plots and characters change as the story actually develops. They are very used to prepackaged, sanitized and complete productions and this messy and chaotic realtime creative process is very foreign to them.
Critical thinking skills are also a precious resource in humanity in general, and when you’re dealing with a fandom this large you have more people who lack those skills than normal. These two shows do not spoon feed their audience, a lot of things are in the details and hidden under character complexities and I genuinely believe that they aren’t used to not being told flat out “this is what is happening. This is how the characters feel about it.” By the media they consume. We’re also dealing with two different shows with similar visual elements and comparisons are made between the two while ignoring the actual shows themselves. A great example is the chains in Hazbin for Angel and Husk being compared to the chain in the drug hallucinations in D.H.O.R.K.S. They are not remotely the same, or for the same reason but because they are visually similar, being from the same team people really thought they were on to something while ignoring the actual content and dialogue of the scene itself. Meme culture used for wrong imo.
Having characters that do “problematic” things, say “problematic” things and behave in realistic and nuanced ways is hard for people to separate from the creators or the fans. Any whiff of perceived “toxicity” is jumped on like rabid dogs. They believe it’s a reflection of what the creator and fans actually WANT in real life. It’s purity culture run amuck and it’s a HUGE issue. Like actual fascism in action and it’s extremely concerning to me but what can I do but continue to engage critically with what I like and provide analysis while enjoying it?
There is also this sense of competition in fandoms. My ship is less problematic than yours. My blorbo is a better person. Etc. It’s the silliest shit.
There is also a huge wait time between episodes. In a binge watching culture, or a serialized tv culture where seasons are completed and then released all at once or on a regular schedule with maybe a week or two between it is hard for the audience to retain what they saw previously and connect it. They also build up expectations and have months to sit with them only to be disappointed when it doesn’t play out how they wanted. The Sherlock fandom was notorious for this. The years long gap between seasons let things fester and rot and now we have a show like HB that will go months between episodes and take years to tell a story.
Being completely honest almost all the criticism I’ve seen is not rooted in actual problems with the show but people saying “if they had done X and X and X it would have be a better show” but because the show didn’t deliver what they specifically wanted it’s “not good”. Or they don’t realize it is delivering that, just at a very slow pace.
I think it can best be summed up by a lot of the internet are what me and my partner call “baby brained”. I don’t mean to be dismissive of real criticisms but I haven’t seen any that hold water yet that aren’t rooted in the things I’ve mentioned above. If I’m presented some I’ll engage with them logically and will use the text to determine their validity.
I have more thoughts on this but this is already pretty long so I’ll save it for specific posts on this subject. But like I always say, just block them and do things that make you happy with the things you love. You don’t owe them your time or your attention and the creators don’t owe them anything either.

I have an idea. Please tell me what you think in the replies 💘
(I will repost this throughout the day so that people in different time zones will see it)
I know I made that post about how I never talk in discord servers (lmao 🙃), but please bear with me a moment.
Tumblr media
I'd like to make a discord server for GO artists/aspiring artists (and people who like GO fanart) specifically for the purpose of posting WIPs and asking for feedback, or for people to post ideas/requests for art, and then any artists can pick and choose from the list of requests if they so choose.
It's also good for people who appreciate fanart and like to have a behind the scenes look at people's creative process! Personally, I love watching people's creative processes as they develop. It's very encouraging to see it start as a messy sketch ball and turn into something clean and beautiful.
I'd also like to include a channel where people can post any good drawing tutorials they've found, and people can discuss things that they struggle with drawing in hopes that someone knows how to help. (For example, I hate drawing shoes.)
There will also, of course, be an entire category for memes, funny stuff and meta discussions.
Edit: I have also included fanfic writers, and I apologize for forgetting about you all! I love fanfic writers, and I support you guys! I'd love to see what you bring to the server as well! You may benefit from the prompt channel if you are struggling with a creative block or need some fresh ideas.
TL;DR: I'm thinking about starting a discord server dedicated not just to GO fanart/writing but to drawing/art/writing in general, and have it be for anyone interested, from beginner to expert.
Tumblr media
What do you think? If you would be interested in joining, let me know in the replies on this post or send me a DM. If enough people express interest, I will get it started, and then I will send an invite to everyone interested.
I STARTED IT! please message me for an invite.
Have a lovely day, wherever you are 🩷

Discovered that my invite link expired :,) so here’s the new (hopefully) permanent link!
In The Blue Corps we have:
Channels for discussing fanfics, channels for recommend fanfics, channels for general headcanons and fanfic ideas that have not yet been created.
Channels for not only fanart and media, but personal art as well! Kept separated because your art deserves its own channel because it’s so good, as well as a channel for moodboards!!
Channels for your playlists and music recommendations! And music bots and streaming channels to sit and vibe with your friends!
Gaymer channels and gaymer streaming channels to also sit and vibe with your friends!
Multiple roles, such as color roles for your favorite hashira’s and twelve demons, a daily question role, a which brother do you stan more role, a role for your pronouns which includes neo’s, any/all, and it’s/it!
Channels to request emotes or categories and also a channel to request a ticket to privately talk to me and the other mods if you have any concerns.
And of course a channel for when I post a new fanfic if that is something that interests you, it’s full of cool people and wacky but really good ideas and au’s!! And I think you’ll like it!!
Edit 12/3/23! We now have a role playing channel for demon slayer role plays!

hello fellow vulture! i’ve been picking around the dsmp fandom for the last year or so, back when the forest wasn’t quite dead but no longer thriving, slowly dying. eldritch horror is an amazing way to describe it now. your writing in that post is absolutely beautiful. but anyways, i’ve grabbed so many potatoes and muffins in the dsmp lmao. i’m kinda leaving it now but i still know the anatomy of its collection very well.
i was just wondering if you have any favorite moments or works in the dsmp that you’ve found so far?
also i can recommend you some fanfics if you’d like? just give me a general direction of what you enjoy, i’d love to point out some goodies
:> Great to meet another vulture; I'm glad you liked what I wrote! Come, share some last bites of roadkill with me I have recently been going quietly insane over yuker's fanart (scrounged up in old reblogs courtesy of @dsmp-archive) and Just a Regular Channel's animations on youtube. As far as moments within the dmsp go, I'm such a sucker for the drama of the Hog Hunt, or the ways that the disc war "finale" and the prison reveal have used architecture and redstone mechanics, rather than pvp or griefing mechanics, to inspire dread. But I'm also just delighted that these are balanced with non-canon nonsense, such as Tommy and Tubbo silently murdering George during Lil Nas X's tour. It's all such a unique amalgam of art, comedy, and storytelling styles, jammed into something like coherence using the mold of the game's mechanics. And then released from that mold to rediverge and take on even stranger forms within the fanworks.
I'd love to collect some fanfic recommendations! I've found that a unique difficulty in my feeding habits is differentiating between works that are well-ranked because they arose at the height of the source media's popularity, and those that are well-ranked because they are the cream of the crop. I'd happily take any suggestions for works that reinterpret game mechanics to strengthen their narrative, or just some good old fashioned angst.

First research results!
I have managed to turn analysing the survey to be part of a uni project I have due next month so I finally found time to analyse the basics! I will link to a less colourful and "boring" table view of all of these results in a later post, as I still need to write the code for that part and it's late. For now there is image description on there!
This analysis is based on n=100 people.
Question 1: Where do you mainly read fanfiction?
Tumblr media
Unsurprisingly most of us spend a lot of time on AO3, but I think we should pay respect to the three lonely souls who use ff.net, wattpad or tumblr respectively. But how much time are we spending reading on average? Well...
Question 2: How much time do you spent reading fanfiction in a week?
Tumblr media
I don't know if I should be concerned that nearly 1/4 of us is spending over 15 hours per week, meaning at least 2 hours a day, reading, but then again I strongly belong into the orange category as well.
Question 3: What fandom(s) do you regularily consume fanfiction from?
I have cut to the top ten of fandoms mentioned, because the list of mentioned fandoms is too long to nicely display in any form. It isn't all that legible already.
Tumblr media
Quick switch to bar chart, because the pie chart got too crowded and because this is a multiple choice question so the percentages wouldn't match up. Our top 3 consist of Merlin at 19%, Marvel at 37% and Harry Potter at 71%. This is the point where I really questioned the data for the first time. I don't know if these percentages are representable for fandom as a whole or if this is a case of a "selffulfilling prophecy". Meaning the channels over which I distributed the questionnaire reached only a specific group of people, namely the Harry Potter and Merlin folks, as I have the most contact to those fandoms, accidentally biasing the data.
Question 4: What ship-category do you read most often?
Tumblr media
Funfact: for the first ... 50? 65? entries, F/M wasn't represented at all. We love our gays I guess. Different funfact: there IS the option to choose F/F in the questionnaire. It just wasn't used. Even now there is one (1) lonely soul who picked that option out of 126. (The form is still open so on there I can see more answers than I used in the analysis)
Question 5: What type of fan-content do you create?
Tumblr media
This one was a surprise. I didn't think that there were this many people actively creating content, but then again, this might due to the people reached by this questionnaire, so possible bias again. (Top 3: Fanfiction 77%, Fanart 35%, Podfic 9%)
That's it for the fan-related part of the research, let's go on with the neurodiversity and demographic part. Especially for these coming results keep the possibility of a bias in the data in mind.
Question 6: What form of neurodiversity/mental health struggle does apply to you?
Tumblr media
This one was the reason this research even exists, and while I haven't yet looked up what percentages of the general society have any of the neurodiversities, I believe that this is rather high, proving my subjective observation: A LOT of the people reading fanfic are neurodiverse in some way. Over half of the participants answered that they have some form of anxiety and/or depression, with some people even leaving me comments how fanfiction is their safe-space, helped them grow and accept themself. This one I will be focussing more on in the future analysis.
Question 7: What is your gender identity?
Tumblr media
This as well surprised me to a degree. Even without comparing I know that this is FAR off of the official gender demographics of the general society. Especially the amount of enbies is surprising but nonetheless welcome.
Question 8: Do you consider yourself as part of the LGBTQIA+ community?
(No picture due to the 10 pic limit on posts) Results:
Yes: 90%
No: 6%
Prefer not to say: 4%
Now, again. A LOT of us are queer as fuck. This is most definitely not the norm in general society and even with a potential bias is significant enough to say that the majority of fanfic-readers are part of the LGBTQIA+ community.
Question 9: If you consider yourself as part of the LGBTQIA+ community, what "part" of the community?
Tumblr media
The answers here refer to the orientation differing from hetero or the gender identity differing from cis. Keep in mind that this question was voluntary and therefore not everyone did answer this. Actual percentage might be higher. (I don't know the number of people that answered that question right now but will go into more detail at a later date)
Question 10: How old are you?
Tumblr media
Again a voluntary question. But on average the community seems to be in their mid or late twenties, although there are also a bunch of adults over 30 enjoying fanfiction. This graph especially reminded me to not assume anything about people within the community. The other person could be someone in still in school, dealing with their first crush or big exams. It could just as well be someone working full time or someone with kids, someone with grandkids even. Fanfic is and always should be open for people of all ages.
Question 11: Where do you live?
Tumblr media
Sadly I haven't been able to reach people in africa or antarctica but oh well. The form is still online, should anyone from there want to add their input into this statistic! ;)
Overall results:
People reading fanfic are a lot more queer, neurodiverse and in general divers than one might expect. I for one was surprised to see how willing people where to answer a stupid online survey that wasn't supposed to lead anywhere.
Thank you to everyone who answered and especially to those that left me nice comments in the form <3

BATFAM WEEK 2023 FAQ
Here are some questions y'all might have about the event and our answers. If anything is unclear, feel free to DM us or submit an ask!
When is the event running? March 26th-April 1st
How do I participate? There is no formal sign up for this event, but it helps to follow us to keep track of updates. Each day of the week will have three prompts. You can create content that fits 1 or more of the prompts and post it on Tumblr or AO3 so that we can reblog it or add it to the 2023 Batfam Week Collection.
Do I have to do every prompt? No, you don't need to do every prompt for each day, you don't even need to participate every single day. Create content as you see fit and don't worry about meeting any sort of quota.
Is NSFW content allowed? Yes, but it will only be reblogged if tagged properly and there's nothing explict in the description. However, NSFW content will not be allowed in the optional Discord server.
Discord server? Do I have to join that? No, it's just a fun place for Batfam fans to hang out and share the content they create. We have specific channels dedicated to the event, as well as general ones. Additionally, you can join the server even if you don't plan on participating and just want to view the works posted for the event and talk with other fans.
Is Batcest allowed? No. Any ship between Alfred, Bruce, Kate, Dick, Cass, Jason, Tim, Duke, and Damian will not be reblogged or allowed in the server. Ships with characters outside of the Wayne family, like Stephanie, Luke, and Barbara are totally fine.
What type of content is permitted? Any! Fanfics, fanart, playlists, edits, headcanons, etc. are all allowed. Create to your heart's content, just make sure whatever you submit for that day is at least somewhat related to one of the prompts.
How do the mods know to reblog my work? You need to tag us @batfamilyweek or use #batfamilyweek2023 for us to see your posts. Additionally, you can add your works into our AO3 collection, BATFAMWEEK2023.

Last Call for ACBB Artist Sign-Ups!
Tumblr media
ATTN MERLIN FANARTISTS!
There is ONE WEEK left to sign up for this year's After Camlann Big Bang!
But what the heck is After Camlann Big Bang? Well...
Are you interested in collaborating with a Merlin fanfic writer?
Would you like to make some fanart based off a 25,000-word fanfic?
Do you want to join a fun and supportive community of Merlin writers and artists?
Then the After Camlann Big Bang might just be for you!
It's a fandom festival that pairs awesome writers with amazing artists in order to create epic fanworks inspired by our favorite BBC Merlin show! Writers must create a fanfic of at least 25,000 words or more. Artists must create at least one (1) finished piece.
Mark Your Calendars!
Writer summaries will go up for review on May 29th, and artist claiming will happen on Saturday, June 4th.
--
What kind of "art" is allowed for ACBB? Generally traditional art, graphic art, photo-manipulations, videos, fanmixes, and podfics! But if the story inspires you to express yourself in a less common format (i.e. cake shop AU fanfiction and you’d like to make cakes that are visible in the story and take pictures of those), you are welcome to discuss what you’d like to create with your writer and the mods!

veeeery slowly making the discord server and trying to finish making it today cause school starts tmr ;; i’m trying to keep the amount of roles and channels to a minimum for easier management but also cause i think it’ll be a pretty small server (<50)
which is okay btw!! just something i gotta take into consideration cause too many channels kinda spread the members of the server pretty sparsely ;;
here are some ideas that are def gonna be in the server >:o
miko updates role + channel >:D (lil updates on my irl schedule and how much i’ve written during the day, also so i don’t clog up the blog :oo)
oshi roles (and separate channels for each member (?))
writer, reader, artist roles
colors roles (pretty limited cause i’m a lil lazy ••;;)
roles for x reader blogs on tumblr (just so y’all know who they are and they can also choose to update y’all if they wish to :> )
writing/fanfic events (ex: we’re all given a prompt to write about and a due date, i’ll have a channel detailing all of it and probably a google doc/tumblr post with all the links of ppl’s submissions !!)
general, other vtubers, fanfic rec + discussion, fanart channel
general, music, and gaming vc + channels
fanfic reading/writing vc + channel (?)
a roleplay (?) channel (it’ll probably only be seen if you have the role and probably won’t be too serious so everyone can have fun :> )
things i’m iffy about
announcements for when luxiem streams (PERSONALLY,,, I LOVE LUXIEM BUT I DONT SEE TOO MUCH OF A POINT IN THIS, only cause i assume everyone’s checking their schedules on the yt community posts and twitter already, and i also usually don’t watch most streams live so i think i’d update y’all on streams a lil too late ;;;)
beta reader role (i don’t write that much (word count wise) i don’t think ? or well, not enough to need beta readers :o, IDK i’ve never had one or been one so who knows ••;; though i wouldn’t mind posting small snippets as what i’m writing if ppl ask :oo)

Different anon! And this may seem like I'm asking this just to do a 'whataboutism' which I don't intend to! It's just genuinely something that this discussion makes me think about because people seem to rarely bring this up. The gender neutral aspect of this channel is a major part of it, but the characters (especially listeners as Erik no longer uses terms like 'blushing' and iirc mentioned not using things like sunburn for this reason) are also supposed to be race neutral. That's a major part of the channel as well. This doesn't seem to come up as much in this fandom because I feel like it's mostly white so us always being portrayed as the default race for media without visuals, a lot of us don't think about it.
I cannot imagine what POC must feel like when they scroll through fandom posts and 75% of every listener drawn is white (even the one character with a canonical skin tone Gavin--who may or may not be perceived to be a POC based on what the rest of his appearance coalesced as--is often drawn/fandom cast as pale despite literally calling himself tan in his first appearance). In connection to this, there's also the fact that in this fandom in fanfiction, the vast majority of writers stick to using 'they/them' and keeping the gender neutral part, but often their descriptors do not stick to the characters being race neutral too and people get no heads up for most until they read the fic itself. And while people should be able to draw and write what they want, there's no tagging to keep POC from having to see the 100th white Lovely or tagging/notice to keep them from having to read about blue eyed, blonde haired Angel. And (even though I'm white) that seems to be an incredibly uncomfortable part of this fandom too. I can absolutely imagine pushback to this actually being asked of people (because fandom is mostly white), but to you, should people have to tag (in fanart and fanfic) their white listeners?
I understand completely what you mean by this, anon, and here's my honest opinion about it.
I, as someone that has diverse listeners with different skin tones and race ethnicities, think that it really depends. Because when I ask people to tag their gendered listeners content, is because I know people can get triggered by their gender, or, in the case of non-binary listeners, by how they look.
I know for a fact that when I say "how they look" is about their body, and not their race or appearance in general. (If they're masc/fem-coded)
What you say actually really important, and i see this a lot in fanfiction that is supposed to be gender neutral. I've seen a lot of fanfics where a listeners is always portrayed with green eyes, and I'm sure it's because that's part of the author's oc.
In my opinion, any content that describes the listener's in some way (hair color, eye color, body type, gender, pronouns) is not considered gender neutral anymore, and that's what I call oc content. If someone makes "gender neutral" content with a listener's appearance, that should be tagged as an oc, because I'm not having the opportunity to read your story with my own interpretations, which I can do thanks to the neutrality of the fic.
While what you say is true, everyone has their own visions for each boy and their listeners. I dont know to which extent a listener oc's appearance should be tagged, because I mainly focus on their gender, since is what I've seen and heard is what can trigger someone.
With this, I may be coming off as ignorant, but i can't have a more extent opinion because I truly didn't thought about this until now. I'm not saying you're wrong, and much less saying I'm right.

The Alfinn Den Discord Server 🚀🎩
Hey besties! So I've seen a few people asking around about possible Blakeshaw-centric communities and discord servers lately...
(This is a bit of a long post, so buckle in!)
Lucky for you, I'm an admin for one! We're called The Alfinn Den and are a tight knit community of around 30 members as of this post! Keep reading for more info!!
We're happy to welcome new members at this time!
As of right now though, we ask that everyone wishing to join us fill out this Google Form !
It has some basic questions about yourself and what fandoms and ships you might like as well as a few more specific ones concerning what presence (are you an artist, writer, general consumer, or other) you have in the community!
There are also a few dead dove & proship related questions as well!
Don't worry though, we have designated channels for both 18+ and dead dove 18+ topics! (So if you don't wish to see or interact with it, you don't have to!)
You MUST be 18+ to join, however. Even if you just want to chat with us and have fun in our other general channels!!
We have a bunch of channels & many kind and welcoming members! We talk about everything from fanart, to fanfic, to headcanons and AUs! The server itself is owned by the author of Grieve in Stereo on Ao3 and we have a wonderful mod team!
A few of us are regularly on voice chat together either playing different video games (mostly Fortnite and Stardew Valley) or even hosting movie nights! We love to just hang out together and have fun!
I hope to see you there besties!
Feel free to dm me if you have any questions or concerns about the membership process or the server itself! I'm more than happy to help!!

My Reading this Week
This week was my last week of classes for the fall semester, so I've been busy with prepping for presentations and final exams and final papers. However! I have done some reading, through of mix of reading on sunday and easy reading like manga, short stories and fanfiction
Finished:
Blood Sisters: Vampire Stories by Women edited by Paula Guran
Father Peña's Last Dance by Hannah Strom Martin Sun Falls by Angela Slatter Magdala Amygdala by Lucy A. Snyder The Coldest Girl in Coldtown by Holly Black In the Future When All's Well by Catherynne M. Valente
I am shocked that I managed to finish this before I left for the airport, but my determination to have one less this to pack was strong. My favorite of this set of short stories was Magdala Amygdala, because it was super gross so I sent it to some friends to read too! fun fact: reading this anthology got me hyped to writing my vampire story, so I've been working on that
Started and Finished:
you there? keep me company by misspickman on ao3
(hi moss!) as i wrote in my reading journal, this is for recording READING not recording BOOKS. now, i do not know tim and kon very well, but i am here to support my mutuals' writing whenever possible
Witch Hat Atelier, Vol. 10 by Kamome Shirahama
i adore the art of this series so much, it's so cute and INTRICATE and also the plot is so stressful to ME. I am stressed. I just want these kids to be okay....
the cat who got the whipped cream by bluecloak on ao3
this is a f@tt fanfic that i managed to skip when i was digging through the archive looking for good fic a few weeks back. i came back to it bc i saw cute fanart for it and enjoyed my time! i think the fact that it was labelled a coffee shop au initially scared me off
Sharp Teeth, Sharp Eyes or: The Boy-God and the Wolf by thunder_rolled_a_six on ao3
i gotta love a good fairytale style story about gods, this was cute though I don't have much to say
beautiful, curious, breathing, laughing by Aidan James
my friend sharing this short story he read with us prompted me to say we needed a book club channel in our server. this was good, and you should read this if you like androids that fuck with gender and fuck in general
Started:
Dead Dead Girls by Nekesa Afia
this is a mystery I got recommended a while back, and my second time taking it out of the library to try reading it. i don't like how short the chapters are and this hasn't really clicked with me, but i desperately want to try continuing with it. if i don't really like it by the time i'm a quarter of the way through i'll just drop it
Article, Chapter, and Primary Source Reading for School:
"Racial Health Disparities and COVID-19--Caution and Context" by Dr. Merlin Chowkwanyun and Dr. Adolph Reed, Jr. in The New England Journal of Medicine "Inequality's Deadly Toll" by Amy Maxmen "COVID-19 Can Last for Several Months" by Ed Yong Ottonian Queenship, "Queens and Dynasties in the Ninth and Tenth Centuries" by Simon MacLean "Bolesław I and the Emergence of Poland" (1025AD) as translated by Paul W. Knoll & Frank Schaer "The Election of Hugh Capet" by Richer of Reims (987AD)
(and here's all the readings i did for my final week of classes. i did not skip a single reading, though when given a choice between two i DID pick the shorter one, may or may not go back and read the longer one when i have time but just for my own fun)
everyone please wish me luck on my finals and stuff!

Question 10 for Cosette, 20, 23? (And good luck with the driver's test!!)
10. What's your favourite piece of fanart for Cosette?
Someone else asked this same thing for this same character, so rather than choose, I'll just post different ones.  <3 This one by @pilferingapples is WONDERFUL, I adore it.
20. When did you first join Tumblr? How long was it between that and finding the Les Mis fandom?
I first joined in 2010 or so?  But like, I enjoyed AtLA a normal amount and watched Sherlock with my dad, and when I checked out those tags (Zutara vs Kataang flame wars and SuperWhoLock culture respectively), I was like, "Hmmm.  Let's not."  So I followed, like, HumansOfNewYork and fitblrs and social justice blogs until 2018 when ... inktaire, I think it was?  Kept posting about all of these characters in a musical I had been in the pit for but didn't recognize At All, and by the time I decided I was in the market for a hyperfixation, they had posted a link for WAR, and that was it.
23. Has your favourite character/ship changed over time?
Oh, for sure.  Entering the Les Mis fandom from the fanon end of things after only ever having been exposed to the musical definitely gave me a different understanding of the characters and their relationships than I have now that I've read the book/researched the era and figures/know more about the historical context/have seen a bunch more adaptations.  LM was also my first real experience with fanfic in general, so once the novelty of those tropes and styles wore off, I started actually exploring the story and characters more earnestly, rather than using the fandom to channel my interest in this new and unfamiliar genre, which meant that who and what I was interested in changed as well.
