What canon divergence is your favorite that you have done because of how personal it is for your portrayal? What canon divergence was the biggest "fuck you" to canon that was just done out of spite?

anonymously ask me something you want to know about me, my portrayal, or what i will/won’t write !!  

on this blog, i think the most canon divergent muse that was the biggest “fuck you” to canon is probably ben guillory, as detailed here. i completely rewrote the lore entirely ( although, i still have to finish writing up the war ) and also the movies / ben’s character completely, staying more true to what we saw in the first book / d1 than anything else. this got very important after d3 considering d3 essentially stripped ben of all agency and characterisation ( pretty much ), but i won’t get started on that :) 

in general, i think one that i like the most, definitely azula, as detailed here. i wrote a series of fanfics touching upon the idea that azula is actually a traitor against ozai a long ass time ago, a little after i started roleplaying on tumblr in 2013, and i never really got a chance to write it write it because… i’m a lazy fecker, so me making the azula muse in that au was very… i guess fulfilling ? even though i didn’t get to write her much alkdjfalskdj.

for sure, though, my making satoshi the kalos league champion and winning against alain was probably my biggest “fuck you” to canon. as i’ve said before, i wouldn’t have minded the loss if it had a) made sense and b) had alain fight against satoshi to spruce up that drama of “i have to fight someone that literally just beat me in order to succeed”. that one is also important to satoshi’s characterisation because winning in the league and then having to deal with the kalos disaster put his ptsd into hyperdrive and also helped him to develop depression.
