Body Guard - Herc & Ashlee

Herc looked up automatically as the doors of the main gym swung open and shut, and he saw the familiar figure of Ashlee walking in. He gave her a nod of greeting, as per usual. It was nice having some younger regulars, keeping the students engaged and working on their fitness, of course, like Ashlee, the dance students made up a good part of that. 

But there was no nod back. She seemed to have a laser like focus, wherever she was going. He turned back to the person he was showing how to properly use the lateral press machine, and gave them a few more pointers. 

When he finished, he took a lap of the gym. Over on the treadmills, Ashlee was running. Hard. Much harder than usual, he blinked. An already fading memory of walking beside her through fancy formal gardens sparked in his brain, where her brain was occupied by something else entirely. “Hey-” he came over, giving her a smile and a wave as he edged around the machine so he could speak to her while she ran. “How’s it going? You doing alright over here?”

Ashlee is an Octoling with a sketchy life, who lives with her younger sister.

She loves motorcycles and working on them, so it's no surprise that she's a motorcycle mechanic. She takes jobs on the side to work on other peoples bikes, be it repairs, creations, tune-ups, etc. 

She also has a bit of a sweet tooth for suckers, with cherry being her favorite flavor.

Her "Blue-Ringed Octopus" look is merely just for show/intimidation. Plus she just really likes the style.

Her and her family were part of the Octarian army. Her parents were not the best at all, what with the frequent emotional abuse, gaslighting and the like. Her and her sister kept having to deal with both the army and homelife difficulties. That is until she ran away, which then left her younger sister to deal with the issues solo. She hated the fact that she left her there on her own, but she couldn't stand it there anymore. Thankfully, a few years later, she managed to get her out of there and back to her house on the surface.

She is also part of a biker gang. It happened not too long after she first escaped to the surface. She stood her ground real well against a gang that was attacking her, and they eventually offered to let her join. Seeing that she didn't really have anywhere else to go, she accepted, on the terms that they don't let her younger sister ever get involved. Now they're practically a second family to her, all while her younger sister is unaware of this.

After the events of Return of the Mammalians, her sister's best friend (and her lil' buddy) live with her at her home.
