Note: The synopsis will probably make more sense if you've read the first part (or you can read it after this, I won't judge you). Also, I know that alternative universe and alternative timeline are two entirely different things, but I don't know what's the difference. So I just put both, you get the point hehe :3

Perched atop of the largest tree in Gandharva Ville, is a little fox-eared girl adorned in flowers complete with floral binoculars as well. Her name is Zahra. She was surveying the grey skies above Pardis Dhyai, which means it was bound to rain there. Knowing that, there's only one thing came to her mind.

'Papa...'

As she continued to look through her binoculars, Zahra's large and pointy ears twitched a few times. Not because they're itchy, but because she was not alone.

"There you are, my little flower. What are you doing up here? Get down."

It was you, her mother. Hearing you call her, Zahra immediately got down to a much safer place. You kneeled down in front of the little girl, holding both of her hands in yours.

"What are you up to now? Hmm?"

Your question earned a silence from Zahra, as she looked back at the direction she surveyed earlier. Zahra may be the type of child who often gets into trouble, but she will never keep secrets. And she felt safe enough to share it with you.

"...I'm worried that Papa hasn't applied his plant-based waterproofing oil to his tail before leaving for Pardis Dhyai. And looking at the color of the sky above it, it looks like it's going to rain heavily," Zahra confessed.

You let out a sigh of contentment as you went to pat your daughter's head.

"That's very considerate of you, Zahra. But your father will be fine. He doesn't want us worrying about him all the time, does he? So I know he can take care of himself."

"...Yeah, you're right. Maybe I was worrying about nothing. Thanks, Mom," Zahra said.

You smiled at her before standing back up. Pulling out your floral pocket watch, it showed a bit past lunch time.

"A little past lunchtime... You haven't had lunch yet, have you, sweetheart? What do you want to eat?"

"Uhh... Ooh! Mushroom Hodgepodge!"

"Even your tastes resemble your father's, huh? Alright, let's get Ashpazi to cook it for you."

(Meanwhile, at Pardis Dhyai)

The Traveler had just finished talking with the manifestation of the Balladeer, indicated by showcasing his newfound power by causing lightning around Pardis Dhyai. Paimon who remembered that Tighnari and Dehya were still outside, immediately asked the Traveler to go check on them.

"That means anyone outside is in danger! Let's go, Tighnari and Dehya still must be fighting!" Paimon urged.

They ran outside and saw that the Fatui soldiers were not there, meaning they must have retreated.

"Oh, have the Fatui retreated?" Paimon wondered.

"Tighnari and Dehya are over there!"

The Traveler and Paimon rushed over to them, and something seemed amiss.

"Hey! What happened to you!?"

"He's hurt," Dehya said.

Tighnari quickly denied Dehya's words, but regretted it soon after. "I'm fine... Ugh!"

"Don't move. I've seen Eremites get struck by lightning before. You need to rest."

"Struck by lightning!?" Paimon exclaimed.

Dehya recall what happened when the both of them were not there. How the weather suddenly became abnormal, how lightning started attacking everyone, almost as if it were alive. Just very bizarre things, to the point of forcing the Fatui soldiers to retreat.

The Traveler apologizes for Tighnari's wound, reasoning that it was probably them who might have triggered the thunder and lightning.

"Huh... It's alright, I'm sure you also never expected this to happen. Don't blame yourself," Tighnari said.

Even though he is wounded, Tighnari still worries about others rather than himself. "My wound aside, you look like... you've seen something unpleasant. Is Haypasia alright?" he asked.

"She's okay for now, but I want to tell you something."

"Ugh...!"

"Hey! Didn't I tell you not to move?"

"Just in case... Ugh! Let's... go to Haypasia's place, and talk about things there."

They headed inside and continued their conversation. The Traveler recounted everything from "meeting" the Doctor at Port Ormos to their encounter with the Balladeer while checking up on Haypasia.

Hearing the explanation from the Traveler, Paimon, Tighnari and Dehya each had their own reaction. Paimon was surprised by what the Balladeer was thinking, Tighnari ridiculed the Akademiya's god creation plan, while Dehya had a more “positive�� reaction.

Nonetheless, with the Doctor out of the picture, Dehya took this as their plan being successful.

"Yay, that's a big accomplishment!" Paimon cheered.

"Ugh! I'm... also happy for you," Tighnari said.

Dehya thanked Tighnari and told him to rest, along with the Traveler.

"Yeah, yeah... alright," he responded.

"Okay, that wraps things up for us here at Pardis Dhyai. Traveler, it's about time we rendezvous with the others at the Grand Bazaar. Let's continue to keep a low profile. You can head there once you're ready."

"Ugh... What... What time is it?"

By the time Tighnari woke up, it was already dark outside. That meant he must have had enough rest, so maybe this was the right time for him to get up.

"Agh! Perhaps... that wasn't such a good idea."

Tighnari sat back down and leaned against the wall behind him. He thought to himself, what should he do now? His body was aching from the long period of inactivity, but at the same time moving wasn't a good idea. So... what now?

Being so deep in thought, Tighnari forgot to pay attention to the "wall" he was leaning on, as it suddenly started to move.

"Hm? What the– Oh, Karkata. Sorry, I didn't realize that I was actually leaning on you."

"Kulilu?"

The mechanical crab Tighnari saved was named Karkata, created by a Sumerian researcher by the name of Abattouy. It seems surprised that Tighnari moved and thought it was the one who woke him up.

"Kuli..."

"Why are you apologizing? I'm the one who leaned on you and made you cautious so you don't wake me up, I should be the one apologizing."

It turned out that after some time spent with the mechanical crab, Tighnari began to understand what Karkata wanted to say. Certainly a lot easier to communicate with each other.

"Look, I'll just move over he—"

Tighnari quickly regrets his decision to move. Instantly, his entire body ached as he clutched on to his side. Karkata was confused about what to do seeing him in pain. It moved around, thinking of ways to help Tighnari but it hesitated.

Karkata suddenly remembered the cherry blossom bracelet you gave, which was laced at one of its joints.

(Flashback)

Tighnari took you to Pardis Dhyai to meet Karkata, and it was the first time you meet the mechanical crab. When you first approached Karkata, it was confused and somewhat cautious of you. It's understandable when you're meeting a complete stranger. But seeing Tighnari was the one who took you there, Karkata quickly warmed up to you.

"So, Karkata was created by your junior researcher named Abattouy?" you asked as you pet the mechanical crab.

Tighnari who was leaning against a tree answered, "Yes, he was the one expelled from the Akademiya for researching mechanical life forms. When Karkata took me and the Traveler to their 'new home', we only found his already cold body."

You grimaced at the image in your head. "I wouldn't know how to react if I were it too. Poor Karkata, it must have been through a lot..."

Suddenly, you took out a bracelet and tied it to one of Karkata's joints.

"Karkata, if you ever feel that you're troubled, always remember this bracelet. Come meet me at Gandharva Ville. Oh wait, do you even know the way there? Don't worry, next time ask Tighnari to show you the way."

(Flashback ends)

"Kalu! Kalu!"

"Agh... What is it, Karkata?"

The mechanical crab immediately showed the bracelet, and Tighnari slowly caught on.

"Isn't that the bracelet that Y/n gave you? What, do you want me to take you to her?"

"Kolu!"

Tighnari sighed. "As much as I want to, I can't. I can't move and who will look after Haypasia even if I could? Actually, now if I think about it, how can I even get there?"

(Back at Gandharva Ville)

"Aha! I won!"

"Aww, I lost... I must say, you're getting better at this, Zahra."

Sitting on the floor of Collei's hut, they were playing a game of Genius Invocation TCG with you as the audience. Collei won the previous match, this time it was Zahra's turn to win.

"Hehe, I like it when I win. Let's play again!" Zahra exclaimed.

"If you two keep going at it, eventually I will understand how to play this game. I can't focus on my work if all I think about is tactics and strategy to win. Plus, it's getting late and way past your bedtime."

"Aww, just one more match please~"

"At first I also still wanted to play because we tied. But now that I think about it, I'm getting pretty sleepy..." Collei spoke up.

"See, even your contender is unable to keep up. You can continue this tomorrow. Now, put your cards back into the box."

Zahra started tidying up her cards while you help Collei put her cards back into her Casket of Tomes. After she finished, Zahra's ears started twitching again, causing the fox girl to turn her head.

"Uncle Amir's dogs are barking again. Shouldn't they know how to behave by now?" Zahra said as she exits Collei's hut.

You and Collei watched Zahra leave before looking at each other and laughed.

"Be sure to wear a blanket when you sleep. It feels like it's going to be cold tonight."

"Mm-hm, I will. Goodnight, Y/n."

You kissed Collei goodnight before exiting her hut. You then found Zahra with her hands on her hips, examining the broken bridge.

"Someone really should do something about this bridge... Ooh! I have an idea."

Zahra then used the Dendro Vision on her to lift the two ends of the bridge and connect it with flowering vines.

"Eeepp! Doesn't that look pretty? Especially if you add small lanterns to the bridge," she said, satisfied with her work.

"As for the lanterns, I'll talk about it to your father or other Forest Watchers. And you should probably give back my Dendro Vision, Zahra. You wouldn't know when I'll need it."

"We're just dealing with some unruly dogs. There's no need to use your Vision, Mom."

Zahra was wrong. It wasn't just some unruly dogs. Amir's dogs were barking at the cowering Karkata who has brought Tighnari back to Gandharva Ville.

"Ugh...! Amir, can you tell your dogs to back down? They're scaring Karkata..."

"I'm trying...! Hey guys, calm down. The mechanical crab is friendly. It's one of us...! Come on, Sag. You're my best student, you should know better."

After seemingly succeeded in calming the dogs down, you arrived at the scene. The person you were waiting for his return was indeed back, but not in the condition you expected him to be.

"Tighnari?"

As Amir helped Tighnari down from Karkata, he let out a grunt, which made you rush to his side.

"What happened to you?"

"Stuff happened. It escalated to me having to clash with the Fatui and... Please don't panic when I say this... *sigh* ...I got struck by lightning," he answered.

"You got struck by lightning?!" You and Amir said at the same time.

Even though Tighnari told you not to panic, you couldn't help but do the exact opposite of what he just said. I mean, how could you not panic? The love of your life literally fought off soldiers from the most powerful military force in all of Teyvat, and then he got struck by lightning? How could you not?!

"In that case, I should carry you back to your hut. Here, get on my back," Amir said as he crouched down.

"That's not necessary, Amir. I can walk on my own."

Amir who was getting tired of his resisting colleague argued, "Please don't be so stubborn, Tighnari. What if you injure yourself more on the way there?"

"Here. Use this instead."

Zahra who had been silent all this time, suddenly brought a stretcher made from your Dendro Vision's powers. She probably made it when you and Amir were panicking over Tighnari.

"Good thinking, Zahra! Alright, hand it to me," Amir said.

Tighnari sighed as he turned to his daughter, "You really shouldn't have, Zahra... I already told you... I'm... fine..."

"Tighnari!"

Tighnari's words trailed off as he slowly fell backwards. Luckily you were right beside him and were able to quickly caught him.

"Okay, maybe now the stretcher is needed. Nasrin, can you help us out over here? We need the extra help."

(In the early morning)

"Tighnari? Are you awake?"

Cyno the General Mahamatra invited himself to enter the Forest Watcher's hut. When he saw Tighnari and you had fallen asleep, holding his hand on the side of the bed, he wanted to take back his stupid question. But he was too late, because someone already answered him.

"Nope, obviously not. But I am, so, there's that."

"What are you doing up so early?"

It was Zahra, the Little Forest Ranger in Training. She was eating something as she sat down on her foldable mattress on the floor.

"I couldn't sleep after what happened last night, and probably because of the adrenaline that caused me not to realize that I'm hungry. I didn't want to wake anyone up so I cooked up a bowl of mushroom rice for myself," she said.

"Then it must have been serious. Can you tell me what happened?" Cyno asked.

"I can, but not here. Again, I didn't want to wake anyone up and they both really needed their sleep. Let's go outside."

"Wait, before that, do you have a spare blanket that you're not using?"

'The General Mahamatra is cold?' is what Zahra first thought of when Cyno asked that question. Not wanting to question him, Zahra went to get a blanket that was stored in the lower cabinet of a shelving unit.

She then gave the blanket to Cyno, who then draped it over your shoulders. Zahra couldn't help but “aww-ed” a little.

"There. Come on, let's go," Cyno said.

With her blanket tied around her neck and her bowl of mushroom rice in hand, Zahra and Cyno exited the hut and looked for a place to sit.

"Now that we're outside, can you tell me what happened?"

Zahra then recounted the incident last night.

"I had just finished playing Genius Invocation TCG with Collei when I heard Uncle Amir's dog barking. So me and Mom went to che—"

"Did you win or did you lose?"

"Huh?"

Cyno's interruption did surprise Zahra, but she laughed it off. "We actually tied. So we'll continue it tomorro– Wait... technically it's today huh..."

"Hm. And although I can't be there to witness it, I'll be rooting for the both of you. I don't care who wins or loses, I will be happy either way."

"Aww, thanks. Now, can I continue the story?"

(A flashback that's written from Zahra's POV)

I watched as Nasrin and Uncle Amir carried Papa off to the hut, with Mom following behind. I then approached the mechanical crab that had been silent from earlier.

"I believe your name is Karkata, isn't it? I just wanted to say on behalf of my mom and also from myself, thank you for bringing my Papa back safely. She didn't mean to forget to thank you, probably because of her panic. And don't worry, Papa is in good hands. I've made sure of it."

"Kolu!"

"Hehe. Now go hang out somewhere away from the dogs. I'll go check on things over there."

By the time I got inside, they've already taken off Papa's hoodie. I still remember how shocked I was to see the scar on his upper body. It spread out like tree roots, with an electrifying purple tint.

I can't lie that I'm scared and worried, but I'm trying to keep my cool. On the other hand, mom is really freaking out. She paced around the room, checking Papa over multiple times, getting ingredients for the ointment, even messing up her workplace in the process.

At that moment, I just knew I had to do something.

"Zahra, give me back my Dendro Vision. I need it to–"

I grabbed onto Mom's hands and held it, looking at her with a stern look. I could tell from her face that she was a little surprised by my actions.

"I can take over from here. You can go out and take a breather."

I knew Mom would refuse and try to argue, so I quickly silenced her.

"It's okay, you've done well. You deserve a break."

She simply sighed and left the hut.

(Flashback and Zahra's POV ends)

"So what happened afterwards?" Cyno asked.

"Well, I did my thing and let Mom back in. I found her hugging her knees just outside the hut on the floor. She immediately rushed to Papa's side the moment I told her she was allowed back in. It also couldn't be help that the commotion woke Collei up..."

"Hm. I see..."

Cyno then went silent and was deep in thought. Zahra was silent too and was just about to spoon a spoonful of mushroom rice into her mouth, when she realized that her bowl was empty.

'Aww, I'm out of mushroom rice...' she thought.

Suddenly, the General Mahamatra stood up and pat Zahra on the head.

"Whaa– Hey!"

"I have to go now. Today is going to be a big day for the people of Sumeru, and I have to make sure the preparation is thorough. Get enough rest so you can win that Genius Invocation TCG match!" Cyno said.

"Oh, okay. Geez, excited much... Uhh, good luck, Uncle Cyno!"

(A couple of days later)

You heard the sound of birds chirping, that meant your consciousness was starting to return. When you woke up and looked at the hut's entrance covered by the large leaf curtains, you noticed how bright it is outside. It couldn't be that it's still early, right? So you got up, tidy up your bed and headed out.

"Good morning, Y/n! I see that you decided to sleep in today. So I made some Pita Pockets for breakfast. Would you like one?"

As you rubbed your eyes, you processed the voice that greeted you. And after a while, you realized it was Collei.

"Collei? What are you doing out of bed? You could've gotten yourself injured. What if you fall over?"

"No, it's okay. Don't worry! I feel much more energized than the previous day," she replied.

Hearing her reply, you then sighed. "I appreciate your effort in convincing me, Collei. But I'm afraid I–"

"No, this is for real! It feels like as if my Eleazar disappeared without a trace..."

"...What?"

Unintentionally, you pulled Collei's hand a little too hard to confirm what she said. When you realized you're being too rough, you murmured a quiet 'sorry' before continuing. You detached her sleeves to see the dark, hardened scales on her wrists had disappeared completely.

(Somewhere nearby)

Tighnari and Zahra were alerted by the sound of crying, sounding like it was coming from nearby. The Forest Watcher asked her to investigate the sound with him. The little fox-eared girl quickly stuffed her half-eaten Pita Pocket into her mouth, before putting down her plate and taking her other Pita Pocket with her.

"Y/n, what happened?"

The moment they reached the location, Zahra and Tighnari were stunned. They saw you crying as you crouched down and Collei who was confused about how to comfort you.

While Zahra took a bite of her Pita Pocket as a way of reducing her shock, Tighnari let out a sigh of contentment.

"I guess you found out about Collei's recovery if you're crying like that, Y/n. I too was shocked when she said that the scales on her body had disappeared. At first I thought that it was impossible since Eleazar had no known cure, but I gave up figuring out how. I think, for now, it's best if we be grateful for this unexpected miracle."

"I can assure you that these are tears of happiness, Tighnari," you said as you hugged the Trainee Forest Ranger.

The Forest Watcher came closer and pulled the both of you into a hug. Zahra who was still chewing the rest of her Pita Pocket, quickly swallowed it and joined in.

"Hey, I'm being left out! Group hug!"

[Author's Note]: Oh noo, poor Hat Guy 😅 I'm sorry this took so long, but I managed to finish it as my internship program is coming to an end. I only have about 10 days of break before returning back to school 😭

Hopefully I could finish that other request that's nowhere near done before I start my senior year of high school. Wish me luck :')

OKAY SO I WROTE A FANFIC !! ITS 2 828 WORDS AND IT TOOK 9 MONTHS TO WRITE (if you include the 8 months where i completely forgot it exsisted) !! AND I ALSO WROTE LIKE 1 400 WORDS THE LAST WEEK !!

actual fic below!!!! (i hope i got everything in it) (also can you tell that the first part was written around december? n before totk was released)

Aether was flying around in the Ashavan Realm looking for Rukkhashava mushrooms for Collei and the Wanderer. He had already bought some from Aramani in Vanara and 5 more from Ashpazi in Ghandara village, and while he was there he also got some from Farbod.

“ Ugh, if I only had Tighnari right now… ” Aether thought. “... If only I had some shrooms so I could get more aquaints…“

Aether looked around, seeing if he saw some more shrooms. He didn't.

“Welp, time to ‘port to Lokopala Jungle.” he sighed as he took up his map.

As Aether clicked on the teleport button he remembered that he hadn't been in his teapot in a while, he made a mental note that after all the shrooms were taken, he would visit his friends there. And maybe he could put Collei and Scaramoose in there so they would get some friendship exp? Or are there too many people in the teapot? Or do any of ‘em have friendship 10? He has to check later.

When Aether jumped down the cliff, releasing his paraglider in the process. In the few seconds he was in the air, he gazed around looking for the shrooms, he didn't find any, again. Maybe he had already picked them all yesterday? He didn't remember.

“Guess I have to farm some bosses...” He thought out loud with a sigh, completely forgetting the teapot plan.

“Maybe I can go to Mondstadt for some TCG?” he said to himself, he had completely forgotten about the TCG after it came out and he got jumpscared by Sucrose.

Aether decided that it was a good idea to go to Mondstadt and talk to the people there. …And play the TCG of course.

He took up his map again and scrolled to Mondstadt and clicked a waypoint there. Within seconds he was there, in the city of the Wind.

As he looked around in the city, he saw Jean sprinting to him.

“Oh, hello Aether,” Jean said, looking a bit nervous. “Perfect timing, we need some help and we were looking for you.

“Sure, what do you need?” Aether said.

“Come to the knights and we will talk there.” she said.

“Well what do we need to talk about?”

“... I do not know how to explain it… also where's Paimon?”

“Eh, she's sleeping and I don't want to wake her up. She's also probably gonna sleep for a few more days anyways”

“Oh.”

Jean and Aether walked to the Knights of Favonius building, they didn't say anything else while they walked there.

When they came there, which only took about a minute, as it was pretty close.

“So what's the problem?” Aether asked when he walked in the building.

“Let's go to my office first.” she said as she started walking there.

When they walked into the office the first thing Aether saw was that he had not raided her office for books, and that there was an unknown boy in the room.

“ Who was he? ” was Aethers first thought when looking at the boy, he had a blue shirt and golden blond hair. At a closer look, the blue shirt the boy was wearing had a white pattern that looked like a sword. When he focused on his face he saw that half his face was a giant scar, and one of his pointy ears, which reminded him of Klees, was completely destroyed. When he focused on his blue eyes, he saw that the boy was staring right back at him.

“This person is an outlander, like you,” Jean said while looking at the boy. “he fell down from the sky on one of the islands in the lake. We don't know how he managed to swim from there to one of the beaches with all those bruises he got from the fall.”

“That's interesting, have you tried talking to him?”

“We have tried to, but he just looks at us with a confused look,” Jean sighed, she was way too tired to be dealing with this, she had taxes and paperwork to get through! “And before you ask, he doesn't talk either, we have tried to make him talk but he, once again, looks confused.”

“Well, what's your name?” Aether turned his attention away from Jean. The boy said nothing in return, but stared at him with a kind of confusion.

“That didn't work…” he said with a sigh. “Time for plan B!”

“You have a plan B?” Jean asked, a bit confused. “What is it?”

“I- uh, haven't gotten to that part yet.”

“Holy Barbatos…” she sighed, pinching the top of her nose, she was really tired of this. “Well what do we do now?”

“We could go out for a walk around Mondstadt and then maybe he'll talk!”

“Last time we did that he whipped out a bomb out of nowhere and almost blew up a wall, and tried to climb to the top of the cathedral.” Jean said with a disappointed look at the boy. “We were lucky that the sisters caught him in time.”

“And he didn't get put in solitary confinement?” he asked.

“Well, he was in solitary confinement for like.. two minutes, before he blew up the wall and escaped.”

“At least in the short while he was there, Klee was happy to have a friend.” Aether said.

“I mean, that's true, but it still doesn't excuse that he blew up a wall .” she said, a bit irritated.

“Well, what are we going to do with him?” Aether said, all while looking at the boy again. “We can't exactly put him in solitary confinement again.”

“That's the problem, we can't let him go. And we shouldn't if he plans to blow up a wall again.”

Aether and Jean looked at eachother, both not knowing what to do with the boy.

“Maybe we can teach him the language and then talk to him?” Aether said, not knowing what else to do.

“We can try, but we don't know what language he speaks.” Jean said. “So we don't know how to translate to his language.”

“Have you tried any other languages than Mond and common?” he said. “He maybe doesn't know them?”

Aether sat next to the boy and tried to make a simple conversation while switching between all of Teyvats languages to try to see if he understood any of them, unfortunately, he only got confused looks when he tried them.

“That didn't work.” Aether said.

“Okay, but what do we do now?” Jean asked. “We have tried everything.”

“I think that probably the best thing to do is to take a walk? Maybe?”

“Well, we can try again.” Jean sighed. “But please take him back here if he causes trouble.”

“Noted!” Aether said, as he took the boys armed and practically dragged him out the door.

When they were out of the Knights of Favonius building he tried to make some small talk, but having someone who didn't talk as a conversation partner made that the talking fastly died down.

As they walked onto the bridge, the boy took his bow out, the bow looked strange and he couldn't quite see what material it was made of, but it had weird glowing orange lights on it, nicked an arrow with a red arrow head and shot it right at Timmies pigeons. When he did that, there was a huge explosion with smoke. When the smoke cleared the pigeons were dead and the only thing that was left was fowl.

“Nice shot dude” Aether said encouragingly, but the boy was still quiet.

“Why is everyone always shooting the pigeons?” Timmy asked angrily, Aether could see slight tears forming up in his eyes. “I'm gonna tell mom all about you!”

“I don't know man, they're very shootable.” Said Aether with a laugh as they walked away. “And your mom cant do anything about me.”

He and Aether wandered out in the wilderness, still not saying a word to each other, the silence was awkward.

They walked for maybe an hour and a half, during this time Aether had tried to make small talk multiple times but every time the boy just looked confused or ignored him. He was starting to get frustrated.

“Do you like food?” Aether asked, trying to break the silence.

The boy just looked at him confused, not seeming to understand the question. Aether sighed and opened his inventory and took out a tea-break pancake.

“Food.” He said while pointing at the pancake.

The boy nodded at the pancake and took a bite out of it, and got a small smile after he took it.

“Now when you're done, we can set up a tent and sleep a bit,” Aether said while starting to stand up and stretched. “Oh right, forgot you can't understand me.”

A few minutes after that “conversation”, if you can even call it that, Aether came up with a great idea. He thought that maybe he could draw an object in the sand and then the word! …But maybe he wouldnt understand the intention?

Aether tried to push that thought away, it was going to work! Everything he does works! Even if its as stupid as challenging the shogun without remembering to lvl up his characters, or even putting artifacts on ‘em all together. Everything he does is great! He has saved multiple nations, killed a harbinger ,and fought and won against two others, he has also challenged gods, and won of course. He really was great, so why was he anxious about how this outlander thought of him? He was also an outlander, they should be able to communicate and help each other out!

“Sooooooo, you can't talk?” Aether asked, even if he felt like he had asked this 5 times already, which he probably did. “And you can't understand me either? Nod for yes and shake your head for no.”

“...” the outlander didn't say anything, just looked up at him from eating his pancake.

“Okaaay, I forgot you wouldn't be able to understand that…” He said, feeling incredibly stupid for just confirming the obvious. “Soooooo, food, am I right?”

The boy looked at his pancake, and then pointed at it, slightly confused.

“Yes yes! That's food!” Aether said in excitement, while doing a thumbs up to show that it was indeed food. “Okay so we're getting somewhere! You can understand food, atleast! ”

“...” he looked up at him, face returning to a neutral expression.

“Ahh, it seems like we still have some more stuff to get through before we can fully understand each other…”

“.......” The boy started putting away the plate the pancake was on, then started standing up, all while maintaining eye contact.

“Okay… do you want to do something?” Aether was confused about just what the boy was doing.

He watched as the boy threw some firewood onto the ground, then pulled out his bow and knocked an orange arrow with a flame tip, “ It's probably a fire arrow. ” Aether thought. When the arrow was inevitably fired and hit the wood, when it hit a small cloud of fire was there, for probably less than a second. The wood immediately fell into a triangle shape and started burning. Once it had burned for a few seconds the boy, who Aether realised he needed a better name in his head for, pulled out a few apples and put them on the fire.

“Whatcha doing?” Aether wondered out loud, but of course there was no reply.

He said nothing in return, just held out his hands, as if to say “ wait and you'll see ”. After a few more seconds of the apples were baked, or grilled, Common Teyvat really was confusing. He hurriedly picked them up and held one out to him.

After a few seconds of staring at the apple he took it, only hearing a few mutters from the boy. He thought he could hear something that was similar to the words “baked apple” but not really the same, the sound of the ‘a’ in the apple was off, like if you somehow merged a and e into one letter. It was strange, but maybe it was another language that's similar?

“Okaaay, sooo that's an …. apple?” he said with half an apple in his mouth.

No response.

They just stared at each other, it felt like minutes, but it was probably just a few seconds. A few very awkward seconds.

“......wha?” a pretty hoarse voice came from his mouth, with a heavy country accent, Aether thought that it matched Xinyans accent a bit, but with slight variations on pronunciation.

“OH SHIT HE CAN TALK?!?” Aether exclaimed, not expecting him to talk.

The boy mumbled something under his breath, something about that he shouldn't have said anything and just continued the act.

“So we can actually have a conversation now!” Aether said. “And what's your name? I can't keep calling you ‘boy’ in my head.”

“.... I am actually onehundred- and-seventeen…” he said, voice still hoarse, probably from disuse.

“WHAT,” Aether exclaimed, surprised by that age. “HUMANS DON'T LOOK LIKE THAT WHEN THEY ARE THAT OLD????”

“......what's a human??...” he asked, in pure confusion.

“.. You don't know what a human is?”

“... no? …”

“Well, a human is what people are here.” he said, fumbling on his words because he had no idea he was going to explain humans to someone who apparently was an outlander like him. “except for maybe Klee, Albedo, … Diona too I guess.”

“... I don't know who any of those people are…”

“I heard Klee was the child you were stuck in solitary confinement with,” he said. “until you blew up a wall.”

“... oh, right I forgot I did that…”

“Also if you're not a human, what are you then?”

“... I'm a Hylian?..." He said, slightly confused.

“Well, what's that? I've never heard of it before.” he was really confused as to what a ‘hylian’ was.

“... I'm guessing it's similar to a human? But we’re kinda blessed by the goddess so our ears are long with magic stuff,” he explained. “I'm also guessing that humans aren't blessed by goddesses because their ears are so short…”

“Oh so you have a goddess?”

“... yeah we have one, or it's actually four but Hylia is the main one that actually answers most of the time…” his expression changed a bit, Aether didn't really know if it was a positive or negative change because his expressions were really hard to decode. “like or at least she is supposed to, but she like, only talks to me most of the time, dunno why. She also ignores Zelda!”

“...What a nice goddess you have.”

“... yeah right! Zeldas is like her descendant too so it makes less sense with that!”

“What??”

“... Yeah! Like way over 10 000 years ago, after the kingdom was founded again by ‘divine beings from the sky’ that made some … bond or something with the hylians?”

“Wait wait, who did what and why are you telling me this?”

“... I dunno to be honest, I just need someone to rant to, like a lot of stuff has happened to me and this kingdom.”

“Well, take it from the start.”

“The start start or the start of the kingdom? Also I don't know all of the details because I have amnesia and forgot literally everything, Zelda has been trying to reteach me stuff but history is hard.”

“Let's take this from the start start,” Aether was surprised that this stranger had been willing to open up so easily, like this guy was rambling about everything, to a stranger. He didn't even want to speak five minutes ago! “Wait, you have amnesia?”

“Yea, yea, but that's not important right now,” he waved with his hands as if it didn't matter, his voice also getting more strained with each passing word, Aether was starting to get worried that he would get so hoarse he couldn't talk. “Okay so, it starts with the three golden goddesses who create the world and all that stuff, and they also create the triforce, which consists of three parts, power, courage and wisdom.”

“Why just those three things?”

“Take that up with the goddesses will you.” he let out a laugh. “So I hold the triforce of Courage, Zelda holds the wisdom one and some dude named Ganondorf holds the power one. Apparently Ganondorf is evil and stuff.”

“So you're… like chosen by the goddess?”

“Yeah yeah-” his ramblings was broken by him coughing a few times. How often does this guy talk actually? His voice was already raspy and hoarse from the start, and he faked not being able to understand him. He probably needed to at least know his name before his voice gave out. “And that is the basics of the goddess stuff.”

“Okay I realised I haven't asked for your name yet?” Aether asked as he realised he zoned out during his explanation.

“... "It's Link.”

“Well I am Aether, I'm glad to finally know your name.”

After a while of sitting with him, Wrenn found that he was finally ready to return home.

Having calmed down almost completely, his eyes were a bit red and puffy from how much he had cried. Yet the villagers who had crowded him before now felt like a comfortable presence, like a warm blanket.

Though, before he can turn in for the night...

"Hey, stay for a while. I gotta share these Pita Pockets with someone," says Ashpazi.

"Pita Pockets? With me?"

Ashpazi wanted to share some food with him? Well, Wrenn couldn't find himself complaining. Ashpazi was quite the chef. He had tried his cooking before when he was too busy to make his own, and they had shared meals once in a while. Though he had to wonder if the other grabbed some food to help cheer him up...

The idea made Wrenn chuckle.

"Yeah, you should join us. I like spending time with you. It's nice,” says Amir.

Wrenn sniffled before he rolled his eyes a bit, shaking his head as he sat down with them. Yet there was a soft smile on his face, something that couldn't fall so easily. "You guys really want me around? Even after the scene I just caused?"

"Yeah, sure! It's pretty nice, this thing we've got going on,“ says Tuman. "No matter what, a man's gotta eat, right?"

Tuman then shoved a Pita Pocket into his face, and Wrenn snorted. The spirit was there, even if he wasn't completely right on the necessity of eating--for Wrenn, at least.

Still, Wrenn took one of the Pita Pockets, and started to eat them. The flavors felt familiar and warm, only further reminding him of where his 'home' was.

The other three men spoke plenty for Wrenn, thankfully, having a merry old time with their food and messing around. Their antics even got Wrenn to laugh a little. Though one antic was a little too funny, and it made Wrenn laugh as he was chewing his food--and he started gagging, some of the Pita Pocket going down the wrong pipe.

"Hey! You all right?" Ashpazi called out.

Wrenn held up a hand to him, nodding once. "I'm... I'm fine, just swallowed it wrong."

Amir handed over a canteen. "Here, have some water."

Wrenn took it with a small nod, and chugged about half of it. Though his throat still burned, the water did help quite a bit--and he sighed as he pulled his lips away from it.

"Hey, looks like even dolls can choke, huh?" Tuman started.

Amir winced. "Hey now, that's not..."

"... It's fine," Wrenn started. "But... yeah. I guess it's true."

"Then don't take a bite of food when you're laughing!" Tuman scolded, patting Wrenn a bit roughly on his back. Wrenn winced, but it didn't hurt. "Take better care of yourself!"

"You say that, but it was you who made him laugh while he was eating..." Amir pointed out.

The three men before him started to banter again, with Wrenn simply snickering and finishing his food. He watched them all for a moment, not noticing that Amir's dog (or, was it even his dog? Wrenn wasn't fully sure), Sag, had trotted on over to him. He butted his head into Wrenn's hand, and Wrenn instinctively started to pet him.

Though after a few sniffs from Sag, the dog barked, and jumped up onto Wrenn, making him yelp.

"Sag! Get down, no jumping on people!" Amir scolded.

Sag only whimpered and whined, not heeding his master's command. Instead, he started nuzzling his snout into Wrenn's cheek, and started licking his face.

"H-hey...!" Wrenn protested, half heartedly pushing the dog away. "I don't even have any more food...! Why are you begging from me?!"

"Maybe he's just trying to cheer you up," Ashpazi suggested. "He's a smart dog, knows when people are scared or upset."

Sag whimpered again, giving Wrenn more kisses to his cheek.

"All right, all right! I get it!" Wrenn continued to protest, finally shoving Sag back down onto all four paws. "I'm fine, really."

Sag grunted and barked, circling in front of Wrenn before flopping down at his feet, grunting softly.

"Seems like he's gonna sleep with you tonight," Amir said with a smile. "That's what he does when his mind's made up. Sorry about that."

"... Heh. I don't mind. Guess I'll have to actually sleep tonight then." What a fantastic idea--just the thought of sleeping now was making Wrenn feel exhausted. With his own mind made up, Wrenn stood up. "Thanks for the food. I'll... be going to bed early tonight."

"Sure thing," Ashpazi said with a nod. "Have a good night, Wrenn."

"Don't let the bed bugs bite! They hurt!" Tuman teased.

Amir sighed and shook his head at Tuman, but turned to face Wrenn with a smile. "Sleep well."

With a soft nod of his own, Wrenn started to make his way back to his abode, with Sag grunting and hurrying to stand to trot behind him.

"... You really are gonna stick with me the whole night, huh?" Wrenn mused. "Well, whatever. Come on."

Wrenn opened the leaf-curtain for Sag to walk inside, and Sag did so without hesitation.

Wrenn, however, took a moment longer, deciding to look up at the sky--or at least, what little he could see through the canopy. The soft twinkling of the star, the cool breeze of the night...

Wrenn closed his eyes, cherishing the sight burned into his mind.

Sag's bark brought him back to reality, however, and he rolled his eyes. "Okay, okay! Needy dog..."

Wrenn let the curtain close on his little home, a yawn breaking through as he got settled into his bed.

Sag took no time to make himself comfortable at the foot of the bed, huffing and curling up right at Wrenn's feet. "Don't blame me if I kick you in my sleep, Sag. And don't bite me, puppets don't taste good."

Another grunt, and Sag sighed through his nose. Wrenn didn't know what that meant, but maybe that didn't matter.

Finally, after such a long time, Wrenn's eye lids started to feel heavy. Then slowly, but surely, his eyes closed.

Though he was finally asleep, tears swelled in his eyes and dripped down his face--but he was smiling. The horrible feelings that he was so used to took a back seat to the love and warmth the villagers gave him that night, and his dreams were sweeter than they had been in a long time.

"Y/N!" You heard Tighnari calling for you from one of the huts above you. Though it was high up, your sharp animal ears picked it up. You looked around for the nearest four leaf sigil and made your way up to him quickly, sensing the urgency in his tone.

"Yes Tighnari?" You asked, meeting him at the entrance of the hut which you realized was Collei's. Tighnari looked anxious and spoke quickly. "Y/N. I've been called to the Akademiya but Collei's Eleazar has started acting up again. Can you watch over her for a day or two until I return?" You nodded, peering inside to see Collei sleeping relatively peacefully.

"Of course, Tighnari. What should I do when she waked up?" You asked, turning back to him. He looked very relieved when you agreed. "She'll probably want to go patrol the forest as soon as she wakes up, but you shouldn't let her. Her body will likely still be weak, so you should limit her to simpler tasks that won't exert much energy." He explained, already beginning to move away. "I'm sorry, but I have to go. This meeting is very important, or so I'm told."

You nodded and watched until he walked away, waving until he was out of sight. You checked on Collei one more time, then went to make some Fragrant Steak— which you knew was her favorite. But as you looked around the village for the necessary ingredients, you realized that you were missing a few ingredients. I guess I have something to do now...

"Master Tighnari? Master Tighnari?" You heard Collei's voice coming from outside. You hurried out to meet her. "Oh, Master Y/N! Do you know where Master Tighnari is? He was—"

"Oh, Tighnari's in Sumeru City right now. He'll be gone for a day or two." You said quickly, then gestured to a nearby bridge. "I made some food for you if you're hungry." You offered. Collei looked disappointed but she nodded and followed you. You sat down with your legs dangling off the edge, which Collei mimicked. You held out a portion of the Fragrant Steak to her and her eyes lit up.

"Thank you, Master Y/N!" She exclaimed, digging in. You laughed. "I'm glad you like it, Collei! I went around asking everyone in the village for ingredients, but I still had to go hunting for some. Ashpazi was even kind enough to let me use his cooking pot." You added, pointing to where the Forest Ranger was standing by his stall.

Collei giggled. "I'm glad; Fragrant Steak is my favorite." To your surprise, she set down her plate, already finished. You offered her the remainder of your food. She looked unsure. "But that's yours." She protested. You shook your head. "Don't worry, I already ate while I was looking around. Besides, you could use it more than me."

With your reassurance, she took the plate and set about eating again. You waited for her to finish eating, watching the birds fly around in the trees above you. When she was done, you took the plates and left them on the desk of your nearby room-hut. Collei waited for you to return, looking anxious. "Now can I go on patrol?" She asked. Admittesly had Tighnari not warned you against it, you likely would've let her.

"No, not until Tighnari returns. I wouldn't want to send you somewhere that he would rather patrol himself. And he may have patrols for you in mind when he comes back, so wouldn't it be better for you to be as well rested as possible for them?" You asked, thinking off the top of your head.

Collei's mood shifted and she nodded in understanding. "Ohhhh, okay. I hadn't thought of that! Well, I do want to go on patrol now, but if Master Tighnari has me patrol somewhere else, I want to do the best as I can!" She stated, placing her hands on her hips.

You couldn't help but laugh at her confidence. "What?" She asked in confusion. "Oh, nothing, don't worry about it. Since neither of us have anything important to do, how about you decide how we spend the rest of the day?" You suggested. Collei frowned. "Hm, I'm not sure. What do you want to do?"

....Eh? "Oh, uh... what about birdwatching?" To be honest, you hadn't really thought of anything to do that day either. But Collei agreed to the idea and seemed okay with it, so that's pretty much what you spent the rest of the day doing.

｡ₓ ू ₒ ु ˚ ू ₒ ु ₓ｡

"Y/N, I'm back!" Tighnari said. He looked a little tired but nothing else, which you deemed was good. "Ah, Tighnari! Welcome back. How did the meeting go?" You asked, waving. He moved to stand next to you with a frown. "Well, a meeting would have been preferable. The Sages wanted to again ask me to come work at the Akademiya and they were very insistent about it."

"You turned it down, I assume." You said. He nodded. "I'm not too sure why they keep insisting, I believe I've made it very clear that I have no intentions of joining the Akademiya. Maybe I should write it out on their foreheads so every time they look in a mirror, they remember that!" He finished his sentence with an indignant flick of his ears and a huffy expression. You nearly laughed out loud.

"You'd have to write it in reverse, otherwise they wouldn't be able to read it." You noted amusedly. Tighnari gave you a sharp stare but then started laughing himself. "I guess I would. But it'd be too much work just for them to erase it from their heads when they see it. Besides, they wouldn't care either way." He sighed. His mood suddenly shifted to anxious. "Oh, how's Collei doing? Her Eleazar didn't get worse, did it?"

"Collei's doing just fine. In fact, she's up preparing to go on patrol. I may have told her that you had a special patrol in mind for her when you got back." You added sheepishly. Tighnari gave you a deadpan look, but then brightened up. "Well, I guess if she's doing better, then she can accompany me on a patrol near Apam Woods."

"Do you want me to go tell her?" You asked. Tighnari shook his head. "No, I'll go tell her. I'd like to see her condition for myself before officially deciding whether or not she's better— not that I don't trust your judgement."

"Oh, don't worry, you're the 'doctor' here." You said. Tighnari laughed and walked off. You watched his tall ears wave from side to side as he walked, biting back a burst of laughter. You turned back to staring at the forest with a sigh. Now what?.....

Done with my first Genshin Impact post!~~~ I'm pretty happy with it <3 I hope I got the personalities and stuff right, I'm like 67% familiar with Tighnari so please correct any mistakes I may have made. I'm pretty much just going to update my masterlist as I go, so Collei will be my first addition to the *(not yet created)* masterlist! :D

What if after the letter that Tighnari wrote reaches Cyno, Cyno comes and gives Tighnari a big ol’ smooch right then and there. After that, they play TCG, and this is so cheesy but it sounds like cyno; Cyno proposes with a ring on a TCG card and is like telling some bad pun lmao

THIS 💯 💯 💯 I am yoinking your TCG idea and incorporating it in the continuation post on cyno's POV (which will be posted soon!). he definitely, definitely asked about it beforehand through his letters, and Tighnari definitely considered his options before saying it's okay for Cyno to do so. we love communication in this household. But after they both agree Cyno DOES NOT HESITATE.

I had a scene in mind for his arrival but he probably up and kisses him multiple times while helping him make breakfast outside and Ashpazi is just like "damn this was so much better when i can at least pretend they're not together smh" because he didn't sign up to do a cynonari QnA with the visitors lmao

He considers showing affection to, and being given affection by, the General Mahamatra, one of the most prominent figures in the Akademiya, and his face scrunches a little. He's not sure he wants that much attention-- Tighnari loves teaching and being somewhat of a role model to the other forest rangers definitely come with some amount of attention. Being the subject of Akademiya gossip, he thinks, is completely different from that.

He considers being publicly intimate with Cyno, the love of his life, and his heart warms. he knows that Cyno loves him and seeing him show that is endearing, both as the recipient of that affection, and also because he wants Cyno to be happy. Cyno doesn't hide his love for TCG, and so, Tighnari sumrises, he shouldn't hide his love for him as well.

So the next time Cyno arrives, he greets him,

"Welcome back, Cyno."

And Cyno does what he does every time he arrives, he takes Tighnari's hands and brought it up for a chaste kiss, and he says, voice soft:

"I'm home."

Because this hut in the depths of the forest has become a second home for the desert-dweller.

And Cyno usually arrives with the moonlight shining his path, they rendezvous in privacy, sharing that moment with just them and noone else. Soft affirmations almost whispered, lost in secrecy.

When he arrived today, he arrives with the late-morning sun, and it fits him, Tighnari thinks. Being under the sun fits Cyno, and Tighnari could hardly think there was anything different. The gasps and murmurs he hears from behind Cyno's figure he decides to ignore for now, and he smiles.

"Come in."

I would like to build collei to level 90 but the map won't let me put more pins and I'm not going to memorize all the mushroom routes. so she's been surviving off of the 5 mushrooms I periodically buy from ashpazi in gandharva ville

unfortunately, I am unaware if there's a scarab dealer in sumeru. cyno, I love you, but you're on your own on this one

the great thing is that I don't need to be at a high level to play this game lmao. I still have heizou running around doing commissions at level 4. he's been doing that for a month now (kokomi is babysitting him)

به ریلزای کره مره سر بزنید و دیدن کنید😍😋 بدون شک لذیذترین و خوش عطرترین غذای ایتالیا و بهتره بگیم شناسنامه دارترین غذای ایتالیا پاستاست که معمولا تهیه ی اون با سسهای مخصوص ، رسپیهای خاص خودش رو داره ، نکته ی اصلی در تهیه پاستا اینکه که معمولا پس از آماده سازی ، به صورت معمول دَم گذاشته نمیشه و دیگه اینکه معمولا در غذاهای ایتالیایی زردچوبه استفاده نمیشه پس لطفا در ترکیب رسپی های ایتالیایی زردچوبه استفاده نکنید ! امروز میخوایم یک پاستا با سس مارینارا باهم درست کنیم🌹 @karehmareh @karehmareh @karehmareh پاستا ۱ بسته گوشت چرخ کرده ۲۵۰ گرم پیاز ۲ عدد سیر ۲ حبه گوجه فرنگی ۴ عدد ریحان تازه ۱ چند پر پنیر پارمزان به مقدار لازم نمک، فلفل سیاه، پودر سیر ( خیلی کم ) ، پاپریکا،و اورگانو یا آویشن به مقدار لازم یکی از پیاز ها رو پوست میگیریم و رنده ریز میزنیم و در تابه با روغن زیتون خیلی کم تفت میدیم و گوشت رو به همراه ادویه ها اضافه میکنیم و خوب سرخ میکنیم به اندازه ی ۱/۳ لیوان آب جوش اضافه میکنیم و میذاریم گوشت کاملا پخته بشه .🌻 برای سس باید یک پیاز دیگه رو نگینی ریز یا رنده می کنیم داخل تابه با یه کم روغن زیتون تفت میدیم بعد سیر رو اضافه میکنیم و یه کم تفت میدیم گوجه فرنگی رو رنده ریز یا پوره می کنیم تا کاملا یکدست و نرم بشه . پوره رو به پیاز و سیر اضافه کرده و روی حرارت ملایم میذاریم تا سس غلیظ بشه حدود ۲۰ دقیقه زمان لازم داریم تا سس غلیظ بشه هنگام پخت یه کم نمک و آویشن یا اورگانو به سس اضافه کنید ریحان تازه رو خرد میکنیم و به مواد سس اضافه کرده و بعد از چند دقیقه سس رو از روی حرارت برمیداریم تا عطر ریحان از بین نره !! و اینکه اورگانو در حرارت زیاد غذا رو تلخ میکنه ... بعد گوشت رو به سس اضافه می کنیم و دوباره روی حرارت ملایم میذاریم تا غلیظ و یکدست بشه . پاستا رو به روش معمولی در آب جوش میذاریم تا جوش بیاد وقتی نرم شد و آبکش کردیم در ظرف سرو میکشیم و روی اون سس اضافه میکنیم و پنیر پارمژان رنده شده میریزیم اگر به روش معمول میخواین پاستا رو سرو کنید برای حدود ۱۵ دقیقه روی حرارت یا داخل فر میذاریم و وقتی داخل ظرف سرو ریختیم روی اون پنیر میریزیم . نوش جان❤️😍😋 #اسپاگتی_ایتالیایی #اسپاگتی #اسپاگتی🍝 #غذاها #غذای_سریع #خوراکی #خوشمزه_ها #پیاز #خوشمزه_جات #خوشمزه😋 #اشپزی_خاص #پاستا #پاستا_پنه #پاستا_آلفردو #غذای_سالم #آشپزی #برگر #آشپزی_خاص #dastpokht #ashpazi #ashpazi_shoma #ashpazi_khanegi #ashpazi_page #غذای_رژیمی #چی_بپزم #چی_بخوریم #غذای_خونگی (at Tehran, Iran) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cis5pwtjMz1/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
