London Burglary Gang Sentenced to Jail After Multiple Distraction Burglaries

Four burglars including members from West Drayton, Iver, and Billingshurst, were jailed for 22 distraction burglaries in London. They stole £39,695 worth of jewellery, including engagement rings and family heirlooms in various locations across London. The bulk of the losses came from a single offence in west London, where £23,720 of jewellery made up of gold and jewelled rings, bangles and earrings were stolen. They also stole £13,340 in cash. After a joint investigation by officers from north and west London and the Metropolitan Police's Flying Squad, the group was intercepted in a pub in Cricklewood, Barnet, after they abandoned their last "mission" vehicle, which had been forensically cleansed. All four men were charged with conspiracy to commit burglary and pleaded guilty at Harrow Crown Court. They were subsequently sentenced on Tuesday, 4 April. In each incident, the suspects would knock on the door of an elderly occupier and introduce themselves, engaging in conversation before entering the house to look for plumbing issues. They would then ask the householder to remove items from under the sink, serving as a distraction while two members of the group would enter the premises and search for cash, jewellery, watches and gold. Day 1 without a job

I am a 23 year old (soon to be 24 year old) brown skinned person who feels just a little bit lost right now. I live in London with my parents and today is my first day in a long while, without a job.

For the last three years I have been certain that I want to be a journalist. I think I have been relatively successful so far? But with the world under lockdown, the news simply feels too overwhelming right now: Covid-19 continues to decimate populations, there isn’t enough testing and a vaccine isn't coming anytime soon. And so I find myself ignoring the news completely.

So with all my newfound free time, I want to write for myself. But publicly? I am a journalist by training after all.

I am going to try and write in this blog everyday for the remainder of the lockdown. I will limit myself to 250 words to make it easy as possible for myself.

I will not tell my friends about the existence of this blog until I have kept it up for at least two weeks. This way they'll actually have something to read if they ever click on it!

This blog will hopefully be a small insight into the life of a young brown Londoner trying to figure out his future. I will write about my friends, family and whatever else pops into my head

Asian families aka brown families...have so much traits in common that every brown kid can relate to this. Brown dad’s having this weird obsession with news papers and news channels Brown Mums metting out all their frustration on their kids which has to always be about her in laws ( specifically dad) Grandparents and water (which is indeed our responsibility) Girls are supposed to learn cooking And boys are supposed to earn Only doctor and engineer being considered as occupations of value and rest my friend are just the black sheep.
