5- Great fluff piece

I answered this one already but there can never be too much fluff so here's another one: @keldabe-kriff's Breathtaking Sunrise. Actually, all of Lyr's Small Joys because they're exactly what's on the tin - flufflets that are just about finding the magic in the little things. This one is a particularly sweet moment between Joel & Ellie that I think about often.

Starman by @imtryingmybeskar. Its a really cool take on an intergalactic soulmate AU with Ezra, and it's beautifully descriptive. AND THERE'S A DOG.

The way that @writeforfandoms expanded on and interpreted the personalities of the Kingsman characters with the dragons in Tangled Up. I love those creatures. Especially Tequila. He's just a big friendly pit bull who doesn't know he's enormous.

👋🏻 hello! Spookily enough, I answered both of these here earlier, however it's given me to think of some other things I want to write.

👻Is there a new genre you'd like to write?

In keeping with the crime theme, maybe mystery? It'd be cool to do something that has a slow burn of playing out plot wise that isn't a relationship? I don't know if there'd be much of an audience for that here - but would be cool to explore. Also anything without angst, would be nice to find somewhere between there and the cheese of my seasonal Hallmark trips to Maplewood.

🛏 Is there a new trope you'd like to write this year?

I think I'd like to explore quite few new ones this year - I think it'd be a push out of my comfort zone of pre-exsisting relationships. Maybe I need to go find a checklist of tropes and slowly work my way through them this year... actually, I think I might go do that now!

7- what animal do you look forward to seeing when you visit an aquarium?

A WHALE!!!! 😭 I love whales! I want to hug one, and to hear them sing and click, and to see them SPLASH!!!!

I know, if I ever see one, it wouldn't be in an aquarium (thankfully for the whales!!!) so, to answer the question proper, I'd say octopuses and seahorses!!!! 💖 I saw orcas and dolphins in a aquapark when I was a kid.

11- anything from your childhood you’ve held on to?

A few good memories, as many traumas valuable lessons and experiences...? But if not that, I kept my whole collection of My Little Pony toys. I even found a very cool youtube channel that teaches you how to fix them and make them look new again. I consider giving them the make over but... I'm also afraid to fail and cause them more damage so, I'm still weighting that thought for now.

19- the veggie you dislike the most?

BEETROOT 🤢 I love my spinach with or without cream, I eat my broccoli, I dream of roasted cauliflower, eggplant is on my top tier, carrots are a treat, fennel is life, leak is the best and I cut green chips from cucumbers to enjoy willingly as a SNACK!!! But Beetroot?! NO. WAY.

Also, I know that as a French person, people might expect me to like ratatouille but... I hate that shit?! Like, wtf is this?! You had perfectly good veggies and you chose violence in the kitchen, to do this to them?! What's wrong with you?!!!!

Tell me about your day + give me an unpopular opinion!

Hey Rach!! thanks for popping in

My day was alright (kinda mundane if i'm honest). Took a nap after feeding the pups, did some grocery shopping for lunch, and the heat in the afternoon hours has been bearable. been talking to some friends and catching up (i'm trying to relearn how to be an actual person and interact with others, it's slow going but it's going). I currently have 2 google docs open and am jumping between the two. am also binge watching the last season of drop dead diva (again). also been discussing tattoo ideas with my brother and sister, so that's always fun.

as for an unpopular opinion......i'm not too sure if this fits but it's a hill i'll probbs die on. The Solo movie wasn't worth the hype. neither were the sequel trilogies. the only "recent" movie that in my opinion matched the energy of the original star wars trilogy is rogue one. hell the prequels did a much better job of tying in the the origin story of the skywalkers than the sequels could ever hope to imagine/achive with their "plot twist". (also, the star wars movies titles are wrong but thats a discussion for another day)

2023 & Me

Been thinking a lot these past few days about everything that's happened with me in 2023. Hard to believe it's coming to end--time seriously does fly 😮

There's been some heavy losses this year. Several family members passed away to illnesses and old age, including my grandfather who I had a strained relationship with to say the least. I also had a shocking family drama bomb dropped on me earlier this month that has had a huge ripple effect I'm still navigating, but fingers crossed things will find a way of working out for the best.

I had some severe mental health depression episodes throughout the year, made me reevaluate priorities and also doubt pretty much every choice I've ever made in life, but I do truly believe I'm entering 2024 in a positive mindset so that's something to be happy about :) I'mma try this crazy concept called self-love and not think the worst about me, myself, and I.

My writing took a hit this year. Word count wise, kudos wise, engagement wise--but I also made progress on several wips and even finished a few which is a big accomplishment for a snail writer like me 😊 I want to enter 2024 not feeling guilty for being self-indulgent or trying new kinds of writing styles. I also want to shake off the belief a low note count equals it was a bad fic/waste of time -- I don't believe that for anyone else, yet my brain always uses it as a weapon of insecurity against myself and enough is enough brain 😠 no more I say!

On a more positive note, I was fortunate enough to attend several conventions this year and improve my cosplay skills (2024 Ahsoka is gonna be my best look yet I just know it 😁). I got to meet total sweethearts Jon Bernthal and Charlie Cox, Steve Burns my childhood hero, the dear Jodi Benson, the gorgeous Rosario Dawson and beautiful Ming-Na Wen, and of course I can't ever forget Andrew Garfield 😱💗 And most importantly of all I did each these cons with my sister and made some lifelong memories! (Also bought a heckin lot of stickers. A heckin lot 🥰)

And then of course the crown jewel of 2023 1000% hands down was attending the United States Formula 1 Grand Prix. Good lord y'all it was one of the best weekends of my entire life! If you had asked me a couple years ago if I'd care about a sport--any sport--I'd have laughed in your face but there's just something so addictive and captivating about the world of F1 and its cast of characters. And having the luck of getting Alex Albon and Daniel Ricciardo's autographs on my dumb lil frog bucket hat was just *muffled screaming* I literally was a shaking mess lemme tell ya--just ask @beecastle and @undercoverpena who were there with me on my phone every step of the way 💜 thanks for putting up with my addiction y'all! Much much love to you both!!

AND THE FRIGGIN FACT SOMEONE GOT A PHOTO OF ME AND DANNY TOGETHER 🥺😭😭 NEVER BE OVER IT NOPE

Tidal Force - my mermaids on mandalore AU that only came together in the very last days of Mermay. I just woke up one day and there it was, without a single plan ahead of time. I had a lot of fun with it, and I left it open ended so that I could come back to it if I wanted to… maybe I will in the new year! 🧜‍♀️

There were so many good ones this year, but I think my front runner right now is actually one that’s still ongoing. I have been terrible at reblogging it (but you can bet that’s going to change once I get through the rest of my holiday reblogs!) but if you’re not reading Liminality by @something-tofightfor yet, you NEED to start. Week in Review: Nov. 26 | The Week Esquire Broke My Brain...Again

This week was one to give thanks for so many things - my family, my friends, my little corner of Tumblr … and the team at Esquire (we’ll get to that). I also realized this week I reached another milestone on here and while I don’t like to harp on the numbers, it really continues to floor me that anyone reads anything of mine. So I want to say thank you. I’ll spare you another sappy rambling post, but it has meant a lot to me to be here. 

With that being said, I wanted to do something fun to say thank you, but I can’t think of anything! What do others do? I’m looking around at a few ask games, but if you have one you really like, send it my way! The Pedro boys celebrated Thanksgiving with @morallyinept and things of course were chaotic but hilarious. This post from @pedrostories was so helpful as someone who consumes fanfic and attempts to write it as well!

In case you missed it, a fun writing challenge popped up that I think is pretty cool! Do I know what I’m writing yet? No. But an idea will come to me I’m sure.

Feral corner:

You know … every week I think, you know, this will be the week where I’m going to be chill and not a thirsty ass mess - ha sorry, I couldn’t finish that without laughing. I can’t help it, blame Pedro (but don’t blame him, we need to thank this man).

So, we’ve all seen the recent Esquire photos right?! The thots were thotting and I am still processing. Will you probably see me reblog this countless times over the next few weeks? Probably. Am I going to shoehorn this photoshoot into the Working Title universe?! Definitely.

Can we just acknowledge the duality of this man? How he just walk around being such a ray of sunshine and so adorable but then turn into an absolute menace? 

Things I watched:

I spent most of the week away, but I did manage to start and finish Tulsa King, which I think is a pretty big feat. Garrett has a small role in it, but 🫠 I am here for it. I did manage to pay attention to the rest of the plot, shocking I know, and I really enjoyed this story.

Personal Stuff

Spent time traveling this week so I had a lot of car time and then family time. I went to Buc-ee’s, which is always a highlight of our road trips. If you haven’t been or know what it is, picture a gas station/convenience store/general store and then multiply that by 100. Is it a bit overwhelming and overstimulating? Yes. But I guess I’m a glutton for punishment because I have to go to one every time I pass by.

The holidays caused a bit of a blip in my health journey. I’m trying to reframe my thinking about it. My initial reaction would have been to write “ugh I was so bad this week and ate so many bad foods” but instead I’m just going to acknowledge that it was a holiday and indulged a bit. But a couple of days isn’t going to completely derail the last four weeks. This time of the year can be really tough when it comes to my relationship with food, but I’m trying to give myself some grace.

Fic updates:

I got a really fun ask about how the Triple Frontier boys would celebrate Thanksgiving. It was fun to think about the guys and yes, eventually we will get to Thanksgiving in Delta Landscaping.

I’ve gotten a couple of comments and messages about Working Title and Delta Landscaping and I promise I’m working on both (I think about them both at least once daily). I have a couple of PTO days in the next couple of weeks and I’m planning on dedicating some time to both so hopefully, I can get ahead and publish a bit more frequently.

Just wanted to tell you i dreamed about you and your art last night.

Somehow you got commissioned by Pedro’s team to do a bunch of renderings of older photos of him throughout his career in your style + do a final “original” piece of him based on an in person interview that someone else was doing (you’d be starting a painting while he was talking to the interviewer and continuing throughout the day while he was doing a new photoshoot or something) … and i was the one that got to interview him for it while you worked.

Pedro was very impressed by your work and he got distracted more than once by what you were doing and had to stop and ask a million questions.

2023: new year, same delusions i guess 😅😅😅

All this time I was clutching this ask to my heart, twirling my curls and giggling like a schoolgirl. This is so damn perfect. I think we'll make an amazing interview team.

I also adore the extra additional fact you later pointed out and how well you know me - that I'll get slightly annoyed with him if he'll be jumping his seat too often and won't let me paint🤣 this is amazing. Ilysm!

January: "what was the first fic you posted this year?"

It was chapter 42 of Journey Into Night where we learn more about what was happening in the Mesa 👀 But in a 'complete story form', it was 'The Corellian Run' (part 1 and part2) of Lost and Found! This one had been veeeery complicated to pull off because it is PACKED with a lot but it was also one of the funniest to write, and I was so excited to finally share it with you all!!! 😊

March: "do you listen to music whilst writing?"

I do! Quite a lot actually. I have all kinds of playlists to accompany me while I write; for a character (obviously!), for a story, a part in it, a location, an event in particular, for a whole chapter and sometimes for very specific scene in said chapter… 😵‍💫

But I also listen to a lot of music unrelated to what I write, just because they are relaxing and entertaining! 😁

Ancient: "the first fic you ever posted online?"

Oh wow, good question. I think the very first fic I posted online was a collab with a friend, a kind of very huninged crossover where we were just having fun without even really trying to tell a story… 😆 It was on Fanfiction.net and to be honest, I'm not even sure our account still exists!!

I could have shared it here otherwise but… it wouldn't change the fact that it was in French, with very childish French humor. Nobody wants that, right?
