The music is the number one most important part of goth subculture and you don't have to dress goth to be goth... but it sure is fun to do so! Goth fashion holds its roots in thrifting, upcycling and sustainable fashion (buying 'goth' clothes from shein, dollskill and killstar is a big no no).

Anyone can style their gothic outfits however they like but here are some examples of different styles:

Getting into the goth subculture

ok just to clarify, nobody asked for this but i’m making it anyway

here are some great influences for the goth music subcultures

i’ve been hyperfixated on pretty much every one except metal and grunge at one point or another so i think i’m pretty qualified to make this statement.

also some of these artists are problematic so please do your research before you promote them! also i don’t support any of their actions, they just have good music that’s very influential to the scene.

anyways…let’s get started

- siouxsie and the banshees are a really great band to start out and they’re one of the most popular goth bands. they have about 12 albums and 2 compilations. they had many members at different times but notable members are siouxsie sioux (lead vocals), jon klein (guitar), steven severin (bass + keyboards), budgie (drums), and martin mccarrick (keyboard + strings)

- another great goth band is bauhaus, they are one of the pioneers of gothic rock and are often credited with making the first goth song. they have five studio albums. members include daniel ash (guitars + saxophone + lead vocals + backing vocals), peter murphy (lead vocals + backing vocals + guitar + keyboards + melodica + congas), kevin haskins (drums + keyboards + piano + backing vocals), and david j (bass + keyboards + percussion + lead vocals + backing vocals).

- another great band to start off with is the cramps (i recommend their album psychedelic jungle). many people think of the cramps as more psychobilly or punk-ish but they are also considered gothabilly and have gothic elements. they have at least 8 (i’m not sure) studio albums, 2 EPs, 2 live albums, and 4 compilations. members include, Lux interior (lead vocals + harmonica + percussion), Poison Ivy (lead guitar + rhythm guitar + bass), Slim Chance (bass), and Nick Knox (drums + percussion)

in order for a band to be goth they must play either gothic rock, post-punk, ethereal wave, cold wave, dark wave, death rock, visual kei, gothic pop, gothic metal, gothic symphonic metal or another gothic subgenre.

edit: just a note. you do not need to dress goth to be goth. goth fashion is optional. if you choose to dress goth but don’t listen to goth music you are just alt. the only way to be goth is to agree with the beliefs behind it and listen to the music (you can also listen to other genres in addition to goth).

some beliefs of the gothic/alt community are:

- there is beauty in darkness, pain/sadness, and the macabre

- rejection of conservatism

- rejection of conformity

- anti-war

- anti-racist

- anti-fascist

- anti-authoritarian

- pro-LGBTQ

- pro-choice

- anti-capitalism

- and other leftist or anarchistic beliefs

also…

if you agree with the beliefs but nothing else you are just a leftist/anarchist

if you listen to the music or dress goth but don’t agree with the beliefs you’re not alt and/or you are considered a “poser”. right-wingers cannot be alt because they contradict eachother.

Cait: Cait watched in horror as the raider she shot flew upwards instead of falling on his back. Then he collapsed boneless in the road, his limbs at impossible angles. It was as if he hadn't weighed anything at all. Cait frowned and shook her head as if it would knock the image away. "I never saw any of this shit when I was on chems," she scowled.

Codsworth: Codsworth couldn't believe his three metal eyes. There were two settlers shopping at the same stall in Diamond City. Both women wore the same buttoned-down shirt with tattered jeans. Their dark hair was styled in matching ponytails. And they moved with identical motions; hands on their hips, heads scanning left-to-right across the wares, then folding their arms and simultaneously asking for a discount. "Um, sir/mum?" Codsworth nudged Sole to look at the identical settlers. "I can't imagine they're twins. Do you think...?" He didn't want to accuse anyone of being a synth, but their similarities were too close for comfort.

Curie: Curie had been staring at the brahmin with its heads stuck in a rock all afternoon. She had measured the animal. Drew its blood. Took its temperature. Finally, Curie relented and pulled Sole from an important meeting with the Minutemen. "I do apologize, Sole, but this could not wait. Look..." They both watched as the brahmin continued to walk forward, moving nowhere, half its body seemingly trapped not between anything, but inside the rock itself. "Do we call someone? I genuinely do not know what to do."

Danse: "Institute bastards!" Danse's profanity instantly roused the soldiers stationed at camp to their feet, but Sole made it to the front of the fold first. They watched as Danse fired at a charging gen 2 synth, and it was obvious why the paladin worried. Instead of a usual blank face, there was a chair protruding where the synth's head should be. Danse dispatched the synth quickly, then called Sole over to examine its body. "Look at this abomination," he spat. "What will those cretins think of next in the name of science?"

Deacon: Deacon was already afraid of heights. It was a miracle Sole convinced him to climb to the roof of the abandoned building already. But when he watched two raiders walk into each other and... stay inside themselves... each facing a different direction but walking toward the building, he wiped the sweat from his brow and spoke to Sole in a voice five octaves higher than usual. "Uh, hey partner? We gotta go. Now, if possible."

Hancock: The mayor wasn't sure if that car was floating because of the jet he hit an hour earlier or new Institute technology, but he didn't think it was his place to find out. Hancock simply turned away and walked silently back to Goodneighbor. Let some poor Brotherhood bastard find it first.

MacCready: MacCready shrieked and nearly climbed up Sole at the sight of the car pinwheeling towards them. It was as if the vehicle was weightless, and it clipped through the road itself. Sole pulled on the merc's arm and blindly rushed them both to the safety of an overpass, which the car moved through without noticing them. "What the... I just... I've never seen..." MacCready was speechless, all the breath having left his lungs from his scream moments ago.

Preston: "I know what I'm looking at, Sole. It's the why I still haven't figured out." Preston crossed his arms and stared at the water purifier with a jukebox sticking halfway through it. The pump was still active. And the stereo was playing the Ink Spots. He just couldn't understand how both were possible. "Is it a prank?" Preston asked, mainly to himself. "A very high-tech, creepy prank?"

Piper: "Blue! Blue, get in here!" Sole nearly knocked down the door reaching Piper, but quickly realized she wasn't in danger. In fact, the reporter was positively beaming as she gestured to a table full of purified water. "Look what happens!" Piper placed a water bottle in her satchel, and when she pulled it out, another one came with it. "They're somehow duplicating. Do I have a magic bag, or was the first water bottle special?" She hesitated. "Actually, if you answer that too fast I'll think you're a synth."

Nick: Nick felt like he was going insane. He had swallowed his pride to show Sole, but even they thought it was some elaborate hoax. "I'm telling you, kid. Every time I walk through the door my outfit changes. And when do you ever see me part with my signature coat?" Nick left the room and returned in a plain drifter outfit. He exited again and came back wearing a red sequined dress more befitting of Magnolia than a synth detective. "This is Deacon. I can't explain it. I don't even want to try. But point me to the church, because I'm about to give that spy the what-for."

X6-88: X6 had been in the Institute infirmary all day. Sole stood anxiously by his side, reading his charts and advocating for him to doctors. It was no use. He had holstered his gun, but somehow his arm stayed suspended in the air; hand formed as if still squeezing the trigger. "They may need to replace my defective arm," he stated flatly, trying not to react to the raw emotion in Sole's eyes. "You can't expect me to defend you looking like a gunless cowboy, now can you? People might start approaching me thinking I'm a Minuteman." Sole laughed at that.

Were there any lawsuits over the "sampling" of copyrighted music on the Fallout 1 & 2 soundtracks? Were royalties paid for the samples? I love Mark Morgan's work, but it is rather blatant. Great blog btw!

Hey, thanks for the question and thanks for the compliment! :D

In February 2008, Mark Morgan was asked the following question during an interview on website, Game-OST:

“Timothy Cain said that he likes dark gloomy music and is a big fan of Aphex Twin. Some Fallout compositions are quite similar to work by Aphex Twin - were you influenced by Timothy's tastes?”

Mark Morgan replied with this:

“When Interplay was thinking of using me for the game, they sent over some music that they liked and wanted me to do something similar as a demo. The CD they sent me had no titles or artists’ names, just a few pieces of unidentified music. I gave Interplay what they wanted and I think they must have used some of my demo in the final game. At the time, I wasn’t familiar with the work of Aphex Twin. To me, it was just my interpretation of what Interplay asked for.”

On October 10, 2022, Tim Cain said this in an interview with website, DualShockers:

“I had so much of this music that I gave the list of my music to Mark Morgan and said I wanted the game to sound like this." Included in the list were Brian Eno's Discreet Music, Ambient Works 1 and 2 by Aphex Twin, and a CD called Ambient 4: Isolationism.”

From the information provided above, Mark Morgan was not familiar with Aphex Twin at the time, and he was providing Interplay with what they asked for. We're not aware of any lawsuits regarding the use of any samples, however.

Additionally, in an interview on January 28, 2015 with website The Audio Spotlight, Mark Morgan provided a list of gear that he used during his time on Fallout and Fallout 2:

“At the time I was using a NED Synclavier as my workstation controlling a few midi synths and modules like a Nord 2, Virus, PPG 2.3, Jupiter 6 and a rackmount synth called a Morpheus by EMU. The Morpheus, like a lot of the rackmount modules in the ‘90s, had this little screen with tons of pages to figure out which made programming painful, but once I figured out the programming architecture it yielded some interesting clangy metal sounds and some strange ambiences, which became a big part of the palette and sound of Fallout.”

Thinking about Rios being Dad to Soji and Elnor, and possibly Dahj from that one au with @talvenhenki we bounced around the other day due to an edit post, and I want to cry because he'd be so hesitant at first but then he'd realise Soji and especially Elnor trust him without hesitation, and that would kinda drive him to try even harder to be good at it, such as:

Calling Elnor "hijo" and Soji "hija" (which is already canon!).

Teaching them to play football. Soji may or may not know some of the basics already, but Elnor definitely doesn't. It's all new for him and he's so excited, keeps kicking a ball around all the time and asking Rios if he's doing it right.

Bringing Soji her favourite snacks from the replicator, then hearing she developed a liking for real tomatoes while on Nepenthe and making sure La Sirena is always stocked with those.

Teaching them Spanish (especially swear words. Raffi and Picard are Not amused, but Seven totally approves).

Asking Elnor to teach him basic swordfighting skills as a bonding activity.

Play-wrestling with both of them. More often than not he ends up on the floor under them. (Raffi teases him about this, but honestly, what's a regular human guy to do against a Synth and a Qowat Milat? And Raffi can't prove that he'd let them win anyway!)

In the Dahj lives AU, he helps make a very traumatised and distrustful Dahj feel more at home onboard La Sirena. He's one of the first, if not the first, crewmembers that Dahj starts to trust.

He's also the only one (bar Elnor) who can easily tell the twins apart!

Post-Movie Movie Night!

Ft. Disaster Twins. and Rango.

(This was my first fic, so there may be some mistakes.)

Leo woke up.

Covered in his own sweat, with tears pricking threateningly at his eyes, he jolted upright. He took in deep, gasping breaths as he tried to calm himself. It’s not real, he’s gone, they’re gone- he told himself, unable to believe his own words.

The crackle of a frantic voice coming through his arm piece, the aching pain surging through his veins, and one last snarky comment.

“..Hero moves are totally your style, big bro.”

He took in deep breaths, in, out, in-

The crack of his spine against the stone. The snarling, villainous voice of the kraang above him as he lie in the empty, torturous void. He was afraid. Afraid of death, afraid of never seeing his family again and yet- somehow, he knew he had to save them.He tried to endure every hit from the horrible monster- the kraang- which had lost its family too.

He had to get out.

Leo stood from his cot in the medbay. He was not supposed to be leaving yet, -orders from the old man himself- but he couldn’t stay here. Not alone- it reminded him too much of that day. That Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. He thought to himself, a bit of a smile flashing on his face as he tried to make light of the situation. Slowly, he regained his footing and stumbled as gracefully as his sore legs allowed out into the main lair.

It was almost empty in the main room, the old tv in the living area cold from being out of use. He gazed around, looking for a sign of anyone to talk to. He didn’t see anything, but just barely, out of his good tympana, he could hear odd synth beats emerging from his brother's lab. Donnie, of course! that turtle never sleeps. He trudged to his twin brother's car, not bothering to knock as he entered.

Hearing a noise from the entrance, Donnie whipped around, already lecturing before he even saw who it was. “Y’know, it’s a lot better for both of us if you knock! I like my privacy and-“ Donnie stopped in his tracks seeing the worn-out figure in the entryway.

“Leo? What-“ his face softened before being stern again. “You should be-“ “-in bed, I know, I know.” The slider interrupted. “You’re gonna act like you didn’t miss my little visits?” He leaned on the doorway, as if it were just his usual ‘bad boy’ stance and not because he was in pain from moving anywhere at all.

Donnie sighed. “At least sit down.”

Leo happily obliged, finding the purple gaming chair that sat by the large monitor in the room. “So, whatcha’ working on?” He asked, rolling the chair closer to where his twin was perched, sitting cross-cross in his lab chair, hunched over what looked to Leo like a hunk of metal.

“Just.. a piece of damaged tech I found. I'm trying to repair it.”

“For what?”

“Whatever it was used for.”

“What was it used for?”

“I don’t know.”

“How do you repair something you don’t know the purpose of?”

“‘Nardo, please get off my chair.”

Leo obliged, scooting away in the rolling chair. Donnie turned around, removing his goggles and relaxing to talk to his brother. “Did you want something? I’m kind of busy here.”

Leo sat in silence. He just needed company, someone to distract him from whatever awful visions would cloud his mind as soon as he was alone again. As he looked down, tapping the chair with his fingers, Donnie could tell something was off. Probably those damned nightmares again.. he sighed quietly. No harm in withholding his project, it wasn’t time-sensitive or anything, but this was.

“Nardo? Do you need to talk about something?”

He shook his head, still not looking up to answer the question.

“Do you.. wanna hang out here?”

Leo looked up, catching on his words for a moment. Strangely enough, he had never found it this hard to talk.

“..Yea.”

Silence for another moment before he continued.

“Got any good movies?”

“You know I do, little brother!”

Donnie stood, headed towards his rack of dvds. Leo followed close behind, rolling in the gaming chair backwards, leaning back to talk to Donnie.

“Little Brother? We’re practically the same age! We might as well be twins!”

“‘Practically’ is not accurate. And plus, we’re not even the same kind of turtle! How could we be twins, hm?”

“We were mutated on the same day!”

“We were all mutated on the same day, Nardo. Are you and dad twins?”

“Eugh, no— but we’re connected- somehow! We have twin telepathy, and you know it!”

They had had this conversation millions of times before, but Leo would never relent. They were twins, he could feel it, and he didn’t care if that wasn’t scientifically accurate.

Donnie simply sorted through his huge movie collection, not giving Leo the satisfaction of winning.

“So, what’ll it be? Jupiter Jim, The Lou jitsu collection, Rango, Jurassic park—“

“Rango. Rango sounds good.”

Donnie chuckled quietly to himself, before picking up the old movie.

Leo smirked, unsure why his brother was laughing. “What? What’s wrong with rango? I know you love that movie.”

“Yea, it’s just- seems familiar now, doesn’t it?”

“What do you mean?”

“Just- nothing. Let’s just enjoy the movie for now, okay?”

Leo shrugged, wincing a bit at the motion. He’d almost completely forgotten how careful he had to be with his injuries. He’d thought caring for his brothers was hard, but he was used to it. Being the patient was much, much worse. And more boring. He stood carefully, walking over to the bed with cautious movements. He eventually flopped down on the purple mattress with a huff, annoyed at how fragile he felt. Luckily, Donnie hadn’t seen his struggle, too busy getting the tv and DVD player ready.

“Okay, let me go get the candy, I know you always like Reese’s Pieces best-“

“No!” It came out more panicked than leo had intended. “I mean- could you just- stay?”

Donnie stared at his brother in confusion for a moment. “Um. Yea, sure, no problem.” He sat down on his own side of the bed, the wall behind them covered in pillows to make it more comfortable to lean on. Donnie hit the play button on his remote, and leaned back to watch one of their favorite movies. That iconic opening song played, and the narrator's band quieted down.

“We are gathered here today to immortalize in song the life and untimely death of a great legend..”

Leo had fallen asleep before Rattlesnake Jake even made his appearance, and Donnie yawned, about to get up and go back to work. He just needed another monster and he'd be fine- until he felt a weight on his shoulder and realized that’s where Leo had rested his head to sleep. Damn it, Nardo. You’re too good at this. He sunk back into the pillow pile, not disturbing his brother. Begrudgingly, he got comfortable. Might as well be as productive as possible, right? Sleep can be productive…

It was barely any time at all before the two were both snoring.

“…And while he is certain to die, perhaps from a household accident- which account for 65% of all unnatural deaths- the townspeople will honor his memory! ..Even as they lose their dignity.”

Random question, but what music genres do you like?

(Also, do you have any headcanons about the HTTYD gangs' music tastes?)

this is a GREAT question I'm over the moon you asked :DD

I love all genres of music really (yes even country). My favourites would probably be folk rock/pop, alt rock/pop, post rock, i love R&B and reggae (i grew up on basically only reggae). Art pop/rock are good ones too. if there's one thing I'm proud of, it's my music collection 😎 oh also I listen to film soundtracks too!

As for the gang...hmmmm that is a toughie but

Hiccup I'd say listens to chill acoustic music (but not like depressing music...most of the time) i feel like he's the type of guy who listens to music, uses it to relax or concentrate so maybe not so many hardcore songs. or something you'd hear in an indie movie soundtrack so i think indie, alternative, folk/folk pop, post rock and some new wave

I can imagine the twins listening to fun songs (bit on the nose lol) so maybe punk rock, synth pop, electro-pop something like that i think and maybe some 90s hip hop like Run DMC, surf music too (which i just found out is apparently a genre haha) maybe dance or funk too (ik its a lot but hey)

Fishlegs I feel like would listen to obviously relaxing songs as well (i love 1950s-1960s songs so I'm gonna be bias and say he likes them too) so maybe 50s and 60s pop cause i think that would go well with his garden harhar. Ballads too (idk if thats a genre) and jazz/soul/classical

Astrid also might be on the nose but rock music or any branch of it like metal/punk rock/hard rock/alt rock/brit-rock maybe some funk as well and some pop punk but secretly listens to sad indie songs 🤭

Snotlout i think would listen to similar music as Astrid but also secretly sings Katy Perry when he thinks no ones looking with also rap and hip hop

What AIs would best suit Mario and Luigi

Greetings, anon. I am glad you asked, as being open to possibilities is perhaps the most important trait that a scientist must possess. While dogma looks to provide a certain stabilty, curiosity is what is more likely to lead to expansion. With that in mind, I thank you for your question, and now I am going to jump into it immediately.

I am assuming the AI sample you are referring to is the one assigned to the top group: Omega (rage), Eta (fear) , Iota (happiness) , Delta (logic) , Gamma (deceit) , Theta (trust) , Epsilon (memory) , and Sigma (ambition) - in order of leaderboard position. These are EIGHT (8) possible matches for each character.

We could also consider the eventuality of assigning Eta and Iota as a pair like we did for Agent Carolina, but given that neither Mario nor Luigi need a suit of armour to use their powers and enhancements this could be wasteful. Besides, Agent Carolina's situation was a…Particular one, without going into detail.

Let us set the bases for this experiment, first and foremost.

PRELIMINARY DATA

Mario:

Shows a positive and optimistic demeanour, often cheerful and playful.

Very attached to the value of fairness, shows kindness and courage, but sometimes can be overbearing, especially towards his younger twin brother Luigi.

Can be headstrong and cocky.

Is more impulsive than his brother and more prone to enter dangerous situations alone.

Good sportsmanship, compliments his opponents most of the time, although he has been observed reacting negatively in a few occasions. (ie wiping a tear in Mario Kart 64)

Timid and emotional, can be prone to over worrying and cowering. Despite this, he is described as 'Mario's fearless brother'. Mostly due to his ability to overcome his fears. Namely he has overcome his phasmophobia.

Is frequently overlooked and feels the weigh of it, sometimes showing signs of being tired of being 'the eternal understudy', feelings of unworthiness.

Displays childish behaviour during taunts and physical attacks.

Has been shown embelleshing stories about his adventures depicting himself as a more heroic, more corageous figure.

Clean and well groomed, he presents in a few occasion as a refined person, likely in order to make a good impression on others to obtain external validation, given that he is particularly sensitive to criticism.

Very vocal against animal cruelty.

Luigi thinks his brother his better than him and shows support and adoration rather than envy.

He is extremely cautious.

Has displayed clumsiness in that instance where he accidentally locked himself out of the air balloon.

Superhuman strength.

Superhuman durability and stamina.

Speed.

Can manipulate both fire and lightning.

Super Luigi form (through consumption of a Super Mushroom).

Can create a field of negative energy. This field can: put opponents to sleep, cause them to move in slow motion, and deal damage. It is fueled by his sadness for being in Mario's shadow, and it is activated through an exotic dance number.

CONSIDERATIONS

The key difference between these two characters, specifics aside, seems to be a lack of restraint in Mario as opposed to an excess of it in Luigi. An AI implant can easily influence these traits for the better or worse, but this leads us to the core question: what is the result we are after? What hypothesis are we aiming to verify in this setting?

Due to the fact that anon has not provided this key information, I am going to start speculating by considering multiple scenarios.

MARIO AND LUIGI WORKING TOGETHER, THE AI ENHANCE THE PERFORMANCE OF BOTH CHARACTERS

Delta's rationality is bound to keep Mario's poor impulse control in check, while Iota would boost Luigi's self esteem and all around happiness. While that would impair the usage of his Negative Energy field, he could rely on his other attacks and use them more efficiently, which would make up for this issue.

MARIO AND LUIGI WORKING TOGETHER, THE AI ENHANCE MARIO'S PERFORMANCE AND WORSEN LUIGI'S

Let's say Mario is assigned with Delta again, but Luigi is assigned with Theta this time. Theta represents trust and despite its enthusiasm, it has to be kept under careful observation as its behavioural patterns can be childish at times. For this reason, Luigi might be overly cautious about preserving Theta's emotional well being, to a perhaps exaggerated extent which will have him hold back as always while Mario is in a more stabilized position.

MARIO AND LUIGI WORKING TOGETHER, THE AI ENHANCE LUIGI'S PERFORMANCE AND WORSEN MARIO'S

Luigi, due to having self concept issues, might experience short term benefits from being able to deceive the enemy and give a desired impression through illusion of trickery. That being said, if we were to assign Gamma to it, we would have to take into account that Mario would have to be able to keep track of those schemes, which he will most definitely not do if Mario is paired with Omega which will intensify his aggression and poor impulse control.

MARIO AND LUIGI WORKING TOGETHER, THE AI WORSEN THE PERFORMANCE OF BOTH CHARACTERS

The answer to this one is very easy. Eta, which is associated with fear, will be assigned to Luigi. Theta, which is associated with trust, will be assigned to Mario instead, effectively boosting the quality of his big brother instinct. This will create an imbalance in terms of responsibility, forcing Mario to take care of Theta and also of his brother and his newly enhanced fear. Due to the fact that they love each other, the brothers will be easily locked in a codependent dynamic. This type of dynamic is one that, by nature, doesn't involve much open discussion, as both parts want to perpetuate the problem, and more importantly it will play on the fact that Mario has more of a harder shell in comparison to his brother and is less expressive in terms of fear as he is the stronger and braver of the two. If Mario were to get angry, Luigi would grow more fearful and he would try harder to overcompensate. This will lead to mistakes on both sides.

MARIO AND LUIGI BEING ENEMIES, THE AI ENHANCE THE PERFORMANCE OF BOTH CHARACTERS

If anon's aim was to pit Mario and Luigi against each other, it would be wise to give Sigma to Luigi. It would highly likely intensify the Negative Energy field as it is fueled by the sadness that Luigi feels for being in Mario's shadow, and of course a representation of ambition will ensure that there will be a constant supply Luigi's suffering on the matter. For Mario to be a worthy opponent, Gamma is a good choice. Now that the brothers are against each other, which they never have been, the dynamic spawns several unknowns which can be easily exploited through Gamma's cunning nature.

MARIO AND LUIGI BEING ENEMIES, THE AI ENHANCE MARIO'S PERFORMANCE AND WORSEN LUIGI'S

See for the scenario with the same conclusion and different premise, Delta and Theta would accentuate their already preexisting characteristics, further widening the gap in how they exploit their own potential.

MARIO AND LUIGI BEING ENEMIES, THE AI ENHANCE LUIGI'S PERFORMANCE AND WORSEN MARIO'S

This is what in the psychoanalysis field is commonly referred to as as a juicy scenario. The key point to focus on is, like in the Luigi gets Sigma scenario, making sure that Luigi's sadness about being overshadowed by his brother never ends. For this reason, we shall assign him with Omega, which is associated with rage. Anger and rage often function as cover up emotions, usually covering up for disgust (also known as 'the moral emotion') and pain, meaning they are often considered easier and more convenient to feel as opposed to the ones that are underlying. Hence this newfound aggression and strengthened Negative Energy Field are highly to win against a Mario who not only would naturally be surprised, concerned, and scared by this side of his brother that he had seen before, but is also paired with Eta that enhances this fear.

MARIO AND LUIGI BEING ENEMIES, THE AI WORSEN THE PERFORMANCE OF BOTH CHARACTERS

Epsilon is a fragment which needs further study and examination and, in my humble opinion, should not be assigned to anyone as it is…Malfunctioning, compared to other fragments. Hence its presence is almost guaranteed to worsen the host's emotional state without being able to compensate in any way in terms of physical ability. Therefore keeping the previous Eta and Mario match and have it confront a newly unstable Luigi who has been assigned with Epsilon seems to be the most suitable scenario for this outcome.

Ok we're back with another fan character- ... wait no, Fan characters!

Meet Roo Nephilim and the Fallen Angels!

We got the band leader in reds (and an actual nephilim, tho no one but the band knows), Roo. We got lead guitarist and back up singer K. We got our enthusiastic drummer, Vee We got our piano, synth, and bird guy, CJ And we got the twin roadies, Dewy and Lewy.

Now, these aren't their actual names. No fan actually knows what their names are.

K and Roo started the band when they were 11, literally like a few months before weird things started to happen with Roo. During those months, they found CJ and Vee, with sad backstories [well they all have sad backstories... except for K-], and decided to adopt them into the band.

They found the twins during their first year of high school. Well... the twins found them, and wanted to help out. They didn't like performing, but they wanted to help behind stage, so they became the Roadies! The twins also were the ones that found the old shack amongst the hills, where they all hang out now and try to deal with the fact that their leader is like half fallen angel, and she doesn't know wtf to do.

I feel like no one would know what fandom they're apart of just on look alone.. but oh well that's what the tags are for-

Are there any particular artists from the past long go or present that you like in terms of what they have to say, saying something new!!!

I just have to mention that I have fallen inlove with Marilyn Monroe recently and I love her poetry 'fragments' I especially love her thoughts she gives in interviews, she had a remarkable intellect.

First of all, I want to apologise for how long it’s taken me to answer this. Summer really took it out of me this year and I haven’t been active on here. I hope that you still see this. I love this ask and I don't find it invasive at all. Thank you for asking!

Some of my favourite artists: Edvard Munch, Vincent van Gogh, Gustave Doré, John Bauer, Edmund Dulac, Odilon Redon, Franz von Stuck, Kay Nielsen, Alfred Kubin, Aubrey Beardsley, John William Waterhouse, Arthur Rackham.

Edmund Dulac’s ‘The Ice- Maiden’ from The Dreamer of Dreams is probably my favourite piece of art. It shows the Ice Maiden with two polar bears and broken hearts in her hand.

As for contemporary art, most of my favourites are photographers. I particularly love post-mortem photography — Victorian and modern. Photographers such as Andres Serrano, Jeffrey Silverthorne, Sally Mann, Joel-Peter Witkin, Walter Schels, Patrik Budenz.

Some favourite music: Goth and post-punk, various 80’s, various synth, Nick Cave, early Tori Amos, The Cure, Nine Inch Nails, PJ Harvey, Aphex Twin, Chelsea Wolfe, Kate Bush, Joy Division, Wardruna, Rammstein, Type O Negative, The Sisters of Mercy, Talking Heads, Cocteau Twins, Tool, The Smiths, Fiona Apple, Björk...

I have so many favourite songs by the above artists and others⁠ — some of them are on my blog here. My favourite piece of music since I was a very young child has been Tchaikovsky's theme from Swan Lake. Another random song that I'll mention is Goodbye Horses by Q Lazzarus. I've been obsessed with it in one way or another since I first heard it as a child in Silence of the Lambs (one of my favourite films).

Have you read Blonde by Joyce Carol Oates? It's a fictionalised take on Marilyn Monroe's life. I’ve never had an interest in Marilyn Monroe but I enjoyed that book. I will look up some of her poetry!

Since I post about vocal synth, and most importantly about SynthV, which is The AI vocal synth program, to an audience of people who followed me for strange reasons ranging from "Danganronpa" to "Akudama Drive" passing by "they don't remember" (all of which are valid), I sometimes see either of those two reactions:

Regarding the second one...... here is my default statement......... if you need it...........: she's on Piapro Studio. Unfortunately

In 2019, the company that owns Miku, the Kagamine twins, Kaito, Meiko and Luka decided to move away from VOCALOID (the program) to have their own program instead, being Piapro Studio. They released Miku in 2020. And then nothing else.

"Hatsune Miku NT" is the latest version of Miku and it's generally understood not to be her best? Some people will say she's the worst, and the most optimistic fans will say she can sound good. That's not a very positive description, lol. She is not AI, as I'm pretty sure this voicebank *juuust* pre-dates the AI boom that really changed the vocal synth market. Vocal synth has shown to use AI ethically, and SynthV notably uses it very efficiently. Nowadays, people expect AI voicebanks, so what would be good for Miku would be to get an AI voicebank too. The issues are as follows:

where crypton? They haven't made voicebanks for their other characters yet.

Since they've not done anything in a while, there's no way of knowing that they're exploring AI as an option or that they may work with AI in the future.

With the move to their own program, Miku can no longer be used by VOCALOID, which is why she is not getting an AI VOCALOID6 voicebank. Unless Crypton comes back begging.*

With that move, it's also unlikely that Crypton is interested in partnering with any other company, so Miku CeVio or Miku SynthV don't seem realistic either.

Did you read that tumblr post way too many people reblogged about how "Miku should NEVER be compared to AI, which is bad, because Miku is good"? Yeah I think Miku is so mainstream, and the mainstream so ignorant about AI and why we talk about it being bad, that it would be a risky decision for her voice provider, Saki Fujita, to make an AI voicebank. Imagine the fearmongering. Imagine people thinking Miku became problematic because they're completely ignorant about both vocal synth and AI. That's what I call Hell.

*By the way, VOCALOID6 kinda sucks. It doesn't sound very good and it's more expensive than other modern programs that sound better. Even if Miku got a V6 AI, even though it would be reassuring to see Miku go anywhere at this point, there's a high risk that she would sound disappointing.

As far as I'm aware, the only notably good thing about Hatsune Miku NT is that they finally drew her with a lot of hair again. Honestly, I've listened to some covers that used that voicebank, and yeah, she can sound alright. It's just nothing special, and Piapro Studio has given us nothing. (I forgot to mention. Hatsune Miku NT alone costs ~130€. Programs other than Piapro and VOCALOID offer cheaper prices.)

I don't think it's completely hopeless, though. I'm paying attention. Sometimes when I talk about something it suddenly gets an update so you never know

“Love From The Other Side” - (Magic the Gathering) Two planeswalkers find themselves on opposite sides of the Phyrexian invasion as they both do whatever it takes to make it back to each other and those they love.

“When others told us what to expect in Urborg, no one told us to expect hospitality.”

“From Sparks to Flame” - (Mass Effect) Artemis Shepard never set out to become an Alliance hero, let alone the first human Spectre, but an unfeeling cycle has begun anew on Eden Prime. She has to get her team to not only trust her but also each other which is easier said than done. Part one of a story about how love and bonds (with the guns they find along the way) save the galaxy.

Later, when people asked Shepard how everything started, they were often disappointed with her answer.

“Beauty and the Furnace Beast” - (Magic the Gathering) A fairy tale inspired story about Ayara and Urabrask fall in love during the Phyrexian invasion of Eldraine.

“In all my years, I have never seen the sky this way,” Ayara said, looking at the odd voids in the sky.

“The One With The Lipstick Incident” - (Mass Effect) A gift written for @angstyastro featuring her Shepard, Isani. Thane is thankful for the continued blessings the Gods bestow on his family but that doesn’t mean he isn’t nervous or that things will go smoothly. With Isani Shepard giving birth to twins, things were bound to get a little out of hand.

Thane would never fathom why the Gods chose to favor him as much as they had— even if this most recent blessing seemed to be a trial into itself.

“Things That Were And Never Will Be Again”- (Magic the Gathering) Ajani and Elspeth meet on Dominaria, not knowing they will soon be on opposite sides of the looming conflict about to beset the Multiverse.

Elspeth. She was here on Dominaria and alive.

“Same Song, Different Verse” - (Mass Effect) In a different universe, Council Spectre Garrus Vakarian is investigating Saren when he is shot down over Earth. He is found by Shepard and the two of them have to work together as other turians try to hunt him down as they try to rescue his informant, Tali.

Garrus could just hear his father’s voice berating him as he looked at the view of Vancouver.

“Reunion” - (Fallout 4) Nate didn’t die when he was shot by Kellogg. If only it was that simple. Now a ghoul, he’s come to accept his new life but a chance meeting at the Third Rail Bar changes everything as he comes face to face with who his wife is now.

“There’s your shares boys. Don’t spend it all in Goodneighbor, even you, ghoul.”

“In the End” - (Fallout 4) When Shaun decides that his mother should no longer be allowed to be influenced by the surface, he decides to keep her at the Institute with a synth copy of her husband, Nate, to keep her “comfortable”. As time goes on, Nate begins to realize just how cruel that was as the pieces fall into place for the beginning of the end.

He had been made as a replacement for her. It was simply a fact of his existence. Made in the image of her dead husband, Nate. He was a gift to her from their leader, Father, as she transitioned to her new life in the institute.

“More Than a Name”- (Transformers: Prime, Shattered Glass) An old one I am still proud of so I am throwing it here instead of my 9th fic

When a mission goes wrong, Starscream is forced to explore some harsh truths about himself and his views on the Vehicons under his command.

“Sir…I found him! Guys help me out!”

“Love in the Age of Gods” - (Smite) I cant believe this one squeaks in. I wrote it for my future wife.

Arachne and Serqet have been seeing each other for awhile but Arachne doesn't dare hope that it will last. Despite expecting the worst, Arachne isn't ready when she sees the end draw near. Serqet sees the situation in completely different light.

“That was completely unnecessary. We’re fighting but we’re not completely uncivilized.”

Post-Movie Movie Night! Ft. Disaster twins. And Rango.

(This is my first ever fanfic and I’m trying my best)

Leo woke up.

The crackle of a frantic voice coming through his arm piece, the aching pain surging through his veins, and one last snarky comment.

“..Hero moves are totally your style, big bro.”

He took in deep breaths, in, out, in-

He had to get out.

Donnie sighed. “At least sit down.”

“Just.. a piece of damaged tech I found. I'm trying to repair it.”

“For what?”

“Whatever it was used for.”

“What was it used for?”

“I don’t know.”

“How do you repair something you don’t know the purpose of?”

“‘Nardo, please get off my chair.”

Leo obliged, scooting away in the rolling chair. Donnie turned around, removing his goggles and relaxing to talk to his brother. “Did you want something? I’m kind of busy here.”

“Nardo? Do you need to talk about something?”

He shook his head, still not looking up to answer the question.

“Do you.. wanna hang out here?”

Leo looked up, catching on his words for a moment. Strangely enough, he had never found it this hard to talk.

“..Yea.”

Silence for another moment before he continued.

“Got any good movies?”

“You know I do, little brother!”

Donnie stood, headed towards his rack of dvds. Leo followed close behind, rolling in the gaming chair backwards, leaning back to talk to Donnie.

“Little Brother? We’re practically the same age! We might as well be twins!”

“‘Practically’ is not accurate. And plus, we’re not even the same kind of turtle! How could we be twins, hm?”

“We were mutated on the same day!”

“We were all mutated on the same day, Nardo. Are you and dad twins?”

“Eugh, no— but we’re connected- somehow! We have twin telepathy, and you know it!”

They had had this conversation millions of times before, but Leo would never relent. They were twins, he could feel it, and he didn’t care if that wasn’t scientifically accurate.

Donnie simply sorted through his huge movie collection, not answering his brother, but not denying his claim. He had felt when Leo left, it was like a piece of his heart was ripped away, but donnie was still here. But Leo- Leo was still out there, fighting for his life. But now Leo was home. They were all home. And yet- sometimes, when Leo slept, you could tell he was still out there. fighting. As if he’d never truly come home. Donnie swallowed the tightness in the back of his throat as he turned back around to his brother, who was halfway hanging off the gaming chair upside down. Oddly enough, the sight was comforting.

“So, what’ll it be? Jupiter Jim, The Lou jitsu collection, Rango, Jurassic park—“

“Rango. Rango sounds good.”

Donnie chuckled quietly to himself, before picking up the movie.

Leo smirked, unsure why his brother was laughing. “What? What’s wrong with rango? I know you love that movie.”

“Yea, it’s just- seems familiar now, doesn’t it?”

“What do you mean?”

“Just- nothing. Let’s just enjoy the movie for now, okay?”

“Okay, let me go get the candy, I know you always like Reese’s Pieces best-“

“No!” It came out more panicked than leo had intended. “I mean- could you just- stay?”

“We are gathered here today to immortalize in song the life and untimely death of a great legend..”

Leo had fallen asleep before Rattlesnake Jake even made his appearance, and Donnie yawned, about to get up and go back to work. He just needed another monster and he'd be fine- until he felt a weight on his shoulder and realized that’s where Leo had rested his head to sleep. He looked truly peaceful this time. Damn it, Nardo. You’re too good at this. He sunk back into the pillow pile, not daring to disturbing his brother. Begrudgingly, he got comfortable. Might as well be as productive as possible, right? Sleep can be productive…

It was barely any time at all before the two were both snoring. Neither had bothered to turn the movie of as the night ticked by, both staying asleep for the remainder of its run.

“…And while he is certain to die, perhaps from a household accident- which account for 65% of all unnatural deaths- the townspeople will honor his memory! ..Even as they lose their dignity.”
