Inspired by your el dorado ask, which made me laugh out loud:
Which ASOIAF ship would you attach to Century Fox’s Anastasia? If you haven’t seen it, any other animated children movie set in ASOIAF-verse is just as welcome.
I have seen anastasia but... er let's say that I have ideological issues with that movie's take on the russian revolution so I have... issues... recasting it in general (like no judging I GET it the main ship is a+ but the last time I watched it I cringed every two seconds don't mind me) so I'll give you alternatives not counting b&tb-related stuff because everyone has done that grrm first and foremost xD
idek if or when i'll get around to it but i've been wanting to do treasure planet with theon as jim and davos as long john silver for years so take it as you want anyway I went to fish that recast it also had wex as morph, jon as the robot, ygritte as amelia and robb as doppler with davos getting crackshipped with alannys and idek how I'd have split it so that robb worked in there but anyway the idea was there
also always wanted to do hunchback of notre dame with a twist as in frollo!c. keeps postaerys!jaime locked up in the tower with only tyrion and maybe sometimes bronn keeping him company until he falls in love with esmeralda!brienne while ditching poor phoebus bc in that context it wouldn't make sense but if I can manage it with quasimodo!tyrion and least-likely-esmeralda-ever!bronn i'mma consider it
ssooooo i have two possible versions of hercules one bc I had once recast it and one because I have it on the commission list so you get both (commissioned one is happening at some point hopefully soon the other one we'll see but), commissioned: jb with hercules!brienne and meg!jaime, hades!tywin/cersei split probably, phil!tyrion and everything else is being currently elaborated, the one I had thought of ages ago: hercules!robb, meg!theon, hades!tywin, sandor/bronn as pain and panic, phil!jaime and brienne at the same time
god someone once suggested me the best bronn/tyrion little mermaid au ever but I have it in the references and I don't remember the casting but anyway ANON WHOEVER YOU WERE I SALUTE YOU ONE DAY WE'LL GET THERE
I'm halfway sure I had once recast frozen just because I could tho it's hardly my favorite disney flick ever but I'm 99% sure i went against my usual castings and it was... robb!elsa, theon!anna, kristoff!jon and ramsay as whoeverthefuck was the name of the evil prince? probably if I don't recall wrong
aaand like I also had recast tangled but it was stevebucky and it was whacked and idk if it works for anyone in asoiaf as much as it's like in my top five animated movies ever because fuck me it was exactly my dynamic *cries* anyway that's what i have on short notice but if you want my crack at any other movie possibly not counting extremely recent stuff bc I'm p. sure the last disney movie i've seen in cinemas was coco I'm more than happy to give it a go xD

(animated) anastasia in my asoiaf au graphic series
Sansa and Arya Stark were living in the capital with their father, Lord Ned Stark, when the monarchy was overthrown. In one terrible night, the Baratheon’s castle was reduced to near rubble, the royals slain and most of the other noble families with them. But the bodies of the two Stark girls were never found — and even more than a decade later, there were whispers that the girls had managed to get away.
Only, that wasn’t exactly the case. Sansa knew there had been a boy who helped them out of the keep as it crumbled around them, a boy who’d seized her and her sister by the hand and led them to a secret passageway. They’d made it out, made it to the train station where they’d found Lord Petyr Baelish, one of the other nobles seeking refuge. He’d been on the last train as they ran after it, and he’d seized Sansa’s hand and pulled her onboard, but when she reached back for Arya, her little sister’s hand had slipped, she’d fallen, and Lord Baelish had held Sansa too tightly for her to do anything more than reach desperately into empty air.
They said two Stark girls had managed to get away. Sansa knew chances were high that really it was only one, but over the years she hadn’t given up hope. After a decade of letting Lord Baelish hide her in Paris as his bastard daughter, Alayne Stone, she reemerged into society as Sansa Stark once more, offering a reward to anyone who helps her find her missing sister. By the time known con-man Jon Snow brings a mysterious girl named Cat to her door, however, she doesn’t think she can handle the disappointment of meeting one more pretender. And yet there’s something about this “Arya” that just might feel familiar. And there’s something about that ever-persistent Jon Snow that she can’t quite shake, either.
ft. arya as anya/anastasia (kinda), sansa as the dowager empress (sorta), jon as dimitri (mostly), littlefinger as rasputin (in a way), also littlefinger as sophie (in its own way), jeyne pool as a pretender “arya” who has since been accepted back into the fold, ramsay bolton in jail for making jeyne pretend to be arya, davos seaworth as vlad (that feels right), nymeria as pooka

Hi! Can i send a prompt? So Arya/Gendry Anastasia AU? (I've seen a post on your blog with them, so)
Hi! Thanx for the prompt :)
https://devertigozation.tumblr.com/post/168431369313/cahtelyntully-when-arya-sees-the-offer-of-a - I think that’s the post, innit?
“Princesses don’t marry the smiths.”
Arya is the most frustrating person, Gendry despairs. He can appreciate her feisty temper, but, for Gods’ sake, there is a con that relies on her being princess-y. And, well, she isn’t. But, unlike his previous finds, she is the right age, she’s got near the right looks - hair’s too short, and the build’s too tough, but, hopefully, the Lord (or is he a King?) of the North will think of all that as of the side effects of living away from the palace, with the peasants.
Still, thankfully, she agrees to participate in his scheme. Gendry doesn’t feel too guilty about it - she’ll live like a princess if all goes according to the plan. And he doesn’t feel too bad for tricking that Lord/King of broken North, he isn’t her real family anyway.
So they board the train, Arya seems mad at him for some reason. Yet again, Gendry thinks. It’s like everything he says annoys her. But Gendry can’t help understanding her a bit, even though he doesn’t show it. Ever since he’s found her he’s been telling her to mind her manners and behave properly and has been teaching her the etiquette. So. Gendry would hate himself, too, in her place. He understands her annoyance, he hates monarchy and everything about it with more passion than anyone.
There’s also probably the case of her new name which sends shivers down her body every time he says it. Girl’s real name is Cat, but they both know that she needs to get used to the sound of another name. No one is looking for Cat of the Canals.
“So, what are you trying to get out of it, anyway?” - Gendry asks when they settle in the train cab. Arya seems to have a mind of her own, and, if Gendry’s being honest, he doesn’t think she is a girl who’d be that tempted by the princess’ kind of life to participate in the scheme. Though, money is usually the right answer to any question as to why poor folks do the things they do.
“Maybe I just want to leave the Canals,” - she snarks back. Gendry sighs. - “What’s with that to you? You only want money out of it.”
Something rubs wrong Gendry about it.
“And how’s that different from what you want?” - he is genuinely not like that usually. He can hold his temper, but she presses on all his buttons.
“It’s you who speaks about revolution all the time, not me. But you still are too coward to do anything but to obey every lord’s whims.”
Gendry wants to answer, but he sees how tense she is.
“Are you alright, Cat?” - this might be the last time she’ll hear her true name.
She bares her teeth, and doesn’t reply, and keeps stubbornly looking through the window.
Gendry looks at her, comprehension filling him in - is she afraid? Though that is absurd. She is tougher than nails.
And yet, the tales of North last couple of years are all about horrors of Winterfell. Ever since Ned Stark died (murdered, stubbornly insists unfortgetful North), every single story of the castle is about murders and betrayal.
No one will touch Arya Stark, Gendry wants to tell her, but she probably knows it. Cat of the Canals, though, might have a reason to be nervous. But Gendry is absolutely sure that no one will suspect a thing.
She isn’t afraid, Gendry thinks. But she is nervous. ***“You look ridiculous,” - he says and immediately gets punched for stating the fact. Arya in a dress is somehow less princess-y than she is in her regular clothing.
Sometimes Gendry will note that the way she holds her head up high, the line of her spine, the surprisingly gracious way she moves with - all that is something that could pass for uptight royal’s mannerisms. Though, of course, she has picked up her manners from fighting.
Her hair is brushed, and looks even worse than her usual bird’s nest. Gendry sighs, thinking.
He remembers the girl. Vaguely. There were two girls, but he knew only one of them.Would it be better to let Cat be as she is?
How well would the current Lord really know the seed of the Stark? He is only a bastard, after all. In Gendry’s knowledge, bastards were raised far and away from high-borns, even if their fathers were Lords.
But then, Arya seems determined, even though that ruins the look of the dress like nothing else - girls in those dresses need to look spineless and eager to please. That isn’t Cat at all.
No one will think her a princess, but the breath of upcoming failure doesn’t seem to faze Gendry. A part of him says, maybe that is for the better.
Let another girl be a princess.
But Arya already motions for him to join her in the car.***The Bastard, though right now he is the Lord of the North, extends his arms for him and Arya to come closer. The whisper of the court reaches Gendry, but he can’t quite make out what they are saying - “Is it really her?” or “It is really her.”
No one called them a fraud, yet.
“Do you recognize your home, dearest Arya of House Stark?” - says Ramsay Bolton.
And Arya comes closer to her future husband, raises the hand in which something gleams under the lights, the lights that highlight her features just right for Gendry to see, and recognize at long last his lost friend, slashes Ramsay’s throat, and says, “Yes, I do.”
The court hushes in one intake of the breath. Arya Stark turns around and for the first time since Ned Stark’s death, the true Stark speaks under the roof of their castle: “My name is Arya Stark of Winterfell. And I’m home.”***“I’m here, my lady,” - Gendry stands straight.
“Don’t be all like that with me now,” - she bares her teeth. No wonder Gendry couldn’t recognize her at once. She is even more wolf, and not at all a princess.
“Pardon me, my lady,” - he says and she punches him. He laughs. Oh yes, it is really her.
But she turns away from him, and Gendry sees that she is still mad at him.
“What kind of man looks for a girl to marry Ramsay Bolton?” - she asks him, while turned away.
“I didn’t know,” - the reply leaves him immediately, even though he cringes inwardly about his pathetic need to make himself look good in her eyes.
But he didn’t. How could he? Every day in that castle brings out the new stories of Ramsay’s cruelties. Gendry thought… No one touches princesses. But Winterfell is a testament to the opposite.
Arya looks at him, with something like a desire to believe him.
“Truly, Arya, I… I would’ve never… Not you or anyone, I swear,” - he makes his plea, if she so wishes. There is nothing but the truth in his words.
He also realizes that this is why she hadn’t told him who she really is - she thought he is a man who is looking to sell a girl to Ramsay.
“Yes, I know, you big goon, you didn’t even recognize me at all, have you?” - she says, rolling her eyes, letting the tension go.
He laughs, happy she believes him.
“I’ll be leaving you then,” - he says, swallowing the ‘my lady’ that begs to be said. She’s got a lot to do - firstly, find her siblings.
It turns out she really is a princess, and Gendry knows that princesses don’t need the smiths or the con artists by them.
“Do you know what Hot Pie told me?” - Arya stops him as he turns to take his leave. Gendry inwardly curses. Hot Pie talks too much, but he was the one behind Arya’s absolutely terrible make-over. Gendry shouldn’t have left them alone.
“That you were looking for the lost princess for many years. Long before Ramsay offered the money.”
And he’s lost the hope somewhere along those years. The girl must’ve died, he decided, or he would’ve found her. And something inside him died as well.
That’s why they let him inside Winterfell so easily - everyone knew that if there was anyone to find Arya Stark, it would be Gendry. That’s why everyone trusted his word on who the girl he brought along is.
Gendry makes a decision. Arya had her heroic moment, he can admit the truth at the very least.
“Princesses don’t care for smiths. But sometimes they notice the heroes who save them,” - he says, looking at Arya. She is grey-eyed, boyish, her hair a nest, and Gendry has fallen in love with her twice.
“You didn’t save me, don’t flatter yourself,” - she says, baring her teeth.
“Yes, I noticed,” - Gendry says back, irked. - “Not many chances of smith’s apprentice being of any use to a princess, is there?“
“It’s a good thing that after I find my siblings, I plan to abdicate the throne then,” - she replies back. - “Now who would have a use for smith’s apprentice?”
“I’m a con man,” - Gendry says, but he is a bit struck with what Arya’s said, and the implications of it - for North… and himself.
Arya rolls her eyes at his words, and says, “I think a partner is something both a smith and a con man might have a need for.”
“A partner,’ - Gendry says dumbly, but his mind works, even if slowly - ‘I think I’m being proposed to, now,’ is what it births.
“I’m not going to be a wife, Gendry,” - Arya says, exasperated with him.
But he laughs, feeling no usual rise of the temper with her, and moves without shame to hug and lift her. He thinks, he might never feel annoyed with her again. Until she kicks him in the knee.

A Rumor in Westeros (Anastasia AU)
Gendry | Winterfell
Deep within a pathetic excuse for a forge, with drafty walls, little lighting besides the struggling embers of a fire, and the frozen earth beneath him acting as the floor, a smith tried to work. Hammer met anvil again and again, a thousand times over, as it warped a slab of metal into a semblance of shape.
Winter was coming, it was almost here, and although the forge was probably the warmest place in all of Winterfell, even it couldn't ward off the chill. Another gust of wind pierced the forge’s crumbling walls with a sharpness the smith had never been able to give his blades, and made the fire, which had barely just recovered from the last gale, flicker and dim.
Cursing, the smith grabbed a pair of tongs and threw some more coal onto the fire and then snatched up a pair of bellows to breath in some life. The fire crackled and hissed, growing taller and brighter and stronger. At least until the next roar of wind came through.
He’d just picked up his hammer and shifted the piece of metal on the anvil, figuring out where he should strike it next, when the wooden door to the forge burst open, revealing a man on the other side. “Gendry,” he greeted, his tone short and clipped from the cold. His ears, unprotected by his short hair and lack of hat, burned a red brighter than the fire, and his salt and pepper beard was tangled in a web of miniature icicles.
“Davos,” Gendry nodded, then began to shiver from the chill. “Close the bloody door, yeah? It's colder than a Wildling's corpse out there.”
Davos blinked, then shook himself out of his thoughts. The movement dislodged some icicles free of his beard, sending them flying down to the ground. Hastily, he closed the door. “What's that you're working on? A piece of armor?” He asked, his tone almost hopeful.
Gendry scoffed, looking at the warped piece of metal on his anvil. “Armor? From this reused piece of shit?” He shook his head, “No metal was meant to be reused and reshaped this many times. If it were anywhere else it'd be in the rubbish.” He sighed, wondering if it wouldn't end up there regardless of his efforts, “I'm trying to shape it into a pot,” he admitted. “I just need it to bend . . . a bit more.”
Looking up at Davos, he asked, “How was town? You sell anything?”
For the past few years, ever since Davos had found Gendry in Flea Bottom and brought him up North to escape the Queen for the second time in his life, the two had been scraping by by selling products from Gendry's forge. Gendry would make the products--reforged cups, pots, kettles, the occasional horseshoe--and Davos would do his best to sell them. Easier said than done, though, when no one had any money.
“Oh, aye, I got a few copper pennies here or there. I was able to get rid of a pair of horseshoes, actually. Got a nice silver stag for them.”
That was impressive. Davos must've come across a Knight or maybe a Lord from a lesser house. Silver was hard to come by, especially with the taxes being as high as they were. The reminder made the smith wince.
“We're not going to make it through Winter are we?” Gendry sighed, his blue eyes trained onto his work. Gripping and regripping his hammer nervously, he glanced up at Davos, then back down again. “Not going on like this we're not.”
“Aye,” Davos nodded solemnly, his hands clasped together in front of him. “And half the North will be joining us in our graves by the sight of it.” Eyes darting left and right, searching for any eavesdroppers or spies--though the thought of anyone risking their balls to frostbite just to spy on them made Gendry snort--Davos stepped closer. “Right, well that's what I came to talk to you about. Our survival.”
His voice was quiet and his words crisp as he spoke quickly and with importance, “I had an idea. Now,” he said sternly, his brows furrowing and almost becoming one. “I know you won't like it, but I've had it, so just give me a moment, all right?”
Frowning, Gendry nodded. Feeling as if this conversation was about to take a turn, he placed his hammer on the ground and crossed his arms over his chest. Now that he stopped moving, stopped his work, the cold was beginning to seep into his skin. He grimaced, shifted in an attempt to ward the chill away, and hoped Davos would be quick.
“I've heard a rumour,” he said, almost awkwardly as he wrung his hands. “In town. A rumor about the Princess Arya. Now, no, no,” he held up a hand, stopping Gendry’s objections before they could start. Sighing, Gendry closed his mouth, signalling for the older man to continue.
“We both have.” He said, his accent becoming thicker with ever word. Usually Davos’ voice  reminded Gendry of the sea, of the sailors he'd known growing up in Flea Bottom. Usually the sound of it helped put the younger man at ease. This time, though, it just added to his dread.  “Heard, I mean, that she survived.”
Gendry's face darkened. Yes, he knew the rumor well. Mayhaps better than anyone. That although the Starks did not survive, one of the siblings may still be alive. Some idiot, probably a fancy poet, had gotten it into their thick skull that since the details of Arya’s disappearance were unclear, she must still be alive somewhere.
Once, not too long ago, Gendry had believed the rumors too. He'd justified it, even. He'd known more than most had, anyway. He knew that she survived King’s Landing. So, he thought, why couldn't she survive the Red Wedding?
It was a fool’s dream, though. He'd come to realize that, with time. None of the Starks survived.
Lord Stark had been the first to die, but little did anyone know at the time that he wouldn't be the last. Not long after him, just a few moons, the traitor Theon Greyjoy killed and burned the youngest boys, Bran and Rickon, and hung their bodies from the castle’s gate for all of Winterfell to see.
Next was King Robb, the savior of the North, the Young Wolf. Not even he could survive whatever curse had been placed on his family. He and his mother, the Lady Catelyn, had been brutally slain under the protection of guest right by House Frey. Their deaths had changed the country drastically. If a king couldn't feel safe in the home of their own Bannerman, what chance did the common folk have? After the Red Wedding, neighbor turned against neighbor, and the North was left defenseless.
Then the poor Lady Sansa, crushed on the rocks of Blackwater Bay. Some say the fall was an accident, some say that the late King Joffrey pushed her, and some say that, after hearing about the death of her brother and mother, she became broken hearted and jumped. The Stranger didn't care about the whys or hows, though, and neither did Gendry. Dead was dead, after all.
As for Arya, most thought she had perished at King’s Landing, not long after her Lord father, though how no one could say. All they knew was that she was in the Red Keep with her sister, Sansa, and assumed she came to the same tragic end as the rest of her family. But Gendry and a handful of people knew differently. Arya had made it out of the lion’s den, had been on her way to Castle Black to reunite with her bastard brother, Jon Snow, and had been so close to freedom. Then she met Gendry and everything turned to ruin.
Chest tightening at the thought of their meeting, Gendry had to physically shake off the guilt that had once again come so close to consuming him. Focusing back on Davos, he tried to hear what the man was saying.
“It's a lot of money, Gendry,” he was saying, “enough for both of us to live happily, if not modestly, for the rest of our days. I was thinking we'd do that somewhere a bit warmer, perhaps Lys, but--”
“Sorry, what?” Gendry interrupted, not following. “What money?”
Pursing his lips and breathing slowly out his nostrils, Davos glared at Gendry and began again, slower this time. “Prince Jon.  Arya's cousin. You remember him, yes?
Gendry did, though not many people would call them cousins. To many Northerners, Jon Snow was still Ned Stark’s bastard son. To the Southrons, he was just another usurper, vying for the throne. To Gendry though, he'd always be Arya's favorite brother.
“He’s in Mereen now, with his aunt, Queen Daenerys. He believes Arya's still alive, Gendry, and he's offering a reward to the person who can bring her back.” Davos’ brown eyes searched Gendry's, looking for any signs of anger, disbelief, maybe even grief. Gendry looked back, unsure of what emotion the older man would indeed find.
“So I thought,” Davos continued hesitantly, “that since the two of us are in an opportunistic position, that we might . . .”
“Might what?” Gendry shrugged, the action bordering on aggressive. Running a hand along his jaw, he grimaced. The small hairs there scratched at the skin of his hand even though he'd just shaved that morning, which wasn't good--he couldn't afford a beard right now--but could be dealt with later.
“Just find an Arya lookalike, teach her what to say?” His fingers twitched with the need to hit something, “Then what? Dress her up as a lady and take her to Mereen?”
“You knew her better than anyone,” Davos argued, “save for her family, and they're all gone.”
“And so is she!” Gendry bellowed, his temper flaring like his fire did earlier. His face had turned a blotchy red and the cold no longer seemed to touch him. Pacing back and forth in the small forge in an attempt to exercise away his rage, Gendry continued. “Arya's dead, Davos! And maybe Jon Snow doesn't know that yet, or hasn't accepted it yet, but she is, and he will.
“He was her favorite brother, he'll be able to spot a fake miles away, and I for one do not want to be caught in a lie by someone whose aunt can control dragons!”
“Gendry, lad, calm down,” Davos waited for Gendry's pacing to stop, for him to take in some deep breaths and cool his blood. “I know the idea doesn't sit well with you,” he took a step closer and placed both hands on the taller man's shoulders. “I don't much like it myself, but it's all we've got right now.”
Looking over his shoulder for a moment, once again keeping an eye out for any enemies, Davos sighed, “You're right, we won't make it through a Winter this far North, but we can't go south, either. I was Hand to a king that never sat on the throne, and you,” he stopped to take a breath, his dark eyes, “well, with every passing day you look more and more like the dead King Robert, especially with that beard you keep trying to keep off your face.”
He paused, then, “Someone's bound to notice, and since Winterfell is currently decorated with colors from House Bolton, well,” he grimaced, “let's just say I'd rather face a dragon than that bastard Ramsay.”
Gendry had to admit, he had a point. At least the dragon would be quick about it. Ramsay was known for dragging things out, making his victims suffer. The stories he'd heard had been enough to give him nightmares for days.
Shaking his head, Gendry took a different approach, “And how, exactly, would we get to Mereen?”
Taking a step back and crossing his arms over his chest, Davos raised a brow, “I've been able to smuggle some money away these past few years,” he chuckled. “Enough to get three people across the Narrow Sea to Mereen, and then stay a few nights at a simple inn.”
“And then what?” Gendry asked, his brows raising up to meet his hairline. “We walk up to the palace, or wherever it is royalty lives in Mereen and just, what? Ask to meet with their prince?” He shook his head, “Why would they even meet with us?”
“You forget, lad, that I knew Jon,” Davos said, his beard hiding his frown. “Back when he was Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch.” He nodded his head confidently, “I can get us an audience.”
Eyes softening, the older man said softly, “We can't stay here anymore, Gendry. We need to start over. We need to take a chance.”
Gendry sighed, a slow acceptance rushing through his veins and loosening the tension in his neck and shoulders. Davos was right, he knew that, they couldn't stay in Westeros any longer. It was just asking for tragedy, and hadn't they both lived through enough of that?
“All right,” he nodded, rubbing a hand down his face. “All right. Well,” he said, trying not to think of how all this could go wrong. “Who else could pull it off but me and you?”
“You and me,” Davos corrected automatically, making Gendry duck his head and smile.
Cat | Braavos
Cat felt the weight of her new purse hit against the meat of her thigh as she took step after step. Part of her was tempted to pat it, like patting herself on the back, but refrained. Such an action would do nothing but bring attention to it, and after having just won it, the young woman didn't wish to part with the coins in it so quickly. Ensuring that no one would challenge her to a duel and steal her prize, Cat pulled her long coat to cover her sword and new purse.
She'd won the purse off a young, green horned fool of a boy from Salty Town. He'd most likely had never been in a real duel in his entire life before today, and it hadn't even been a challenge for Cat to disarm him and win her prize. Kids like him were always visiting the city this time of year, looking for adventure and excitement, and they always went home a few pounds lighter than they came.
Running her thumb up the length of her sword's handle, she she wondered how best to spend her winnings. Perhaps she'd buy a pomegranate, or a Myrish orange, if she could find someone who sold them. Or perhaps she'd visit some of the girls at the Happy Port. She hadn't visited them in a while, maybe she'd buy some oysters for them all to share.
There was a lot of silver there, though, she thought as the purse bounced against the fabric covering her leg again. More than she'd seen in a long while. More than enough to . . .
She stopped and shook her head, she knew where that line of thought led. To the Bay, to a ship, to her home . . . In truth it led nowhere. Cat didn't even know where home was.
North, her thoughts stubbornly answered. Her home was in the North. Westeros.
She gritted her teeth, and then what? She asked herself. Then what would she do? The purse of silver wouldn't last forever, and she couldn't even remember the last time she'd been in her native country, or why she left. There might not be anyone to return to anymore, either.
Her grip on her sword tightened, her slim fingers turning bone white beneath her skin. Looking down at the sword--at the only link to her past--Cat’s chest swelled with an unnamed emotion. She'd had the sword for as long as she could remember, before that, in fact. It had been the only thing she could truly call her own after she'd left the House of Black and White.
The sword was small, meant for a child, really, but Cat’s hands were small, too, and the Braavosi preferred to use lighter blades in duels, ones that only needed to be held in one hand, so no one ever questioned her about it.
It had a name. Cat knew it had one, long ago. She wished she could remember it, she knew it was a good one, but its name continued to elude her, just as the rest of her past did.
Every now and again she'd remember something. Nothing tangible, just small flashes that were too obscure to gain anything from them--a warm hug, a hand ruffling her hair, the taste of lemon cake on her tongue--breezed in and out of her mind, and made her ache for the life she once had.
The memories, her past, would return to her. Someday. Cat knew this to be true, knew it with every fiber of her being. It might be tomorrow, it might be a year from now, it might be more, but one day Cat would know the name of her sword, sure as she knew her own, and, more importantly, who had given it to her.
She wondered sometimes, especially at night, after having awoke from sleep, whether or not she had a family. She must have, at some point. But no, she thought, family wasn't quite right. Pack. She had a pack.
The lone wolf dies, but the pack survives. The words surprised her, stopping her in her tracks. Where had they come from?Although the words felt foreign and unused, they also felt right, like they belonged to her.
Still, Cat had never thought about packs or wolves before. Braavos had no wolves, and the people here never spoke of them, so she wouldn't have heard the phrase from a stranger or a friend. In fact, no where on the Eastern continent were there wolves. But in Westeros . . .
Cat blinked and realized she'd been  standing in the same spot for far too long. Taking a look at her surroundings, her mouth dropped open as she realized where she was: Chequy Port. Her feet had led her almost all the way up to a ship without her noticing. Closing her mouth and shaking her head, Cat could take a hint.
It was time for her to take the first forward in finding out who she was, and the first step towards her future. Releasing a shaky breath, she squared her shoulders and walked up to the Harbormaster.
Swallowing down a spike of fear and pushing down on the rush of excitement buzzing in her hands, Cat voice was steeled with conviction as she announced, “I’m looking for a ship to Westeros.”
A/N: Um...yes, all the Stark's are dead except for Arya (it's like there's a curse or something)
Updates will not be too regular unfortunately. I'm already 3000 words into the next chapter, but then it has to go through edits and my friend who helps me edit these things is in a very different time zone so that can slow it down some.
I'm going to be taking things from ASOIAF, GOT, Anastasia (1997) and Anastasia the musical. So it'll be a hodgepodge but hopefully a good one.
If you liked this chapter please let me know by leaving reblogging! See you all next time!

Myrcella for the more detailed character meme! Send me a character and I’ll answer…
Tumblr media
Poor babe.
003 | Give me a character & I will tell you:
How I feel about this character: I love her sass and fearlessness, especially around Joffrey. “We’re children. We’re supposed to be childish” is maybe my favorite line from ASOIAF. Even Sandor laughed at that!
Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: I guess Robb is just my au!slut, since I thought her little crush on him was cute when he escorted her to the tables at Winterfell.
My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: Cersei. I wish the books and the show had given us some scenes of just the two of them.
My unpopular opinion about this character: I mean...I don’t really have that many opinions about her, popular or unpopular! Hate to say it, but we don’t get enough of her for me to form any strong wants.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: Sure wish she could have not gotten wounded (was that in Dance with Dragons? The books all blur in my memory now). I also wish she didn’t have Maggy’s Prophecy hanging over her head.
Favorite friendship for this character: Tommen. They’re good buds.
My crossover ship: Uhhhhhhhh....urrrrr....Dmitri from Anastasia?? He could help her escape like he did for Anya, and then years later they meet again? I don’t know!
Send me a….

The night pirates attack the island of Tarth, its lord is forced to leave with his two childern: he leaves the youger with her Septa and asks the woman to bring his child to saefty; little does he know that this will be the last time he sees his daughter.
When she turns twenty, Brie decides she wants to look for her original family, if someone survived the huge train accident she was involved in as a child in the Stormlands, like her. Brie adores the family that adopted her, and Catelyn understands her need for answers and wishes her good luck as she watches her leave.
Jaime and Tyrion are broke, they spent all the money they had in the trust fund their mother left for them in order to get away from their father, and now they barely make it from one year to the other: soon they will be forced to beg for money like panhandlers or crawl back to Tywin, and Jaime would rather die freezing in the cold North. One day, ad he warms himself inside a shop, he overhears two gentlmen talking about the former lord of Tarth: he is still looking for his lost daughter, and he is willing to pay her weight in sapphire to whoever may bring her home.

Shitty marriage contracts started Robert’s Rebellion, so what if everyone got a better deal?
Rhaegar Targaryen overthrew the Mad King in a short and slightly less bloody rebellion, and made Lyanna Stark his Queen. Viserys was made Prince of Dragonnstone, and Rhaella splits her time between the island and the capital, carrying Daenerys with her. Stannis Baratheon took his rightful seat at Storm’s End, the young Renly was sent to Highgarden as a ward, and Robert? Well, once a hoe, always a hoe. In Dorne, Cersei Lannister finally found her chance at happiness, she married Oberyn Martell, and Jaime went with her, giving up his chance to be Lord of Casterly Rock. With Joanna alive and well, Tywin had little hatred for his youngest child, and Tyrion became his heir. In the North, with Brandon dying in the rebellion, Eddard Stark became Lord of Winterfell and married Catelyn Tully.
No longer dealing with the strain of their own unhappiness, their biggest concern was making marriage alliances for their own children.
This is a plot heavy DISCORD based group verse, created by Orchid & Brea. It’s open to all characters from any fandom, canon & oc (we love ocs!!!)
If this sounds like your thing, send an app to @burnedkingdom here
Mun name & age: Muse(s) name, age(s) & title(s) if they have one: Faceclaim(s): Short bio(s): Discord:
Please read the rules under the cut before applying! If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to shoot me an IM, if I can’t answer it I’ll find another mod who can! :)
Rules:
We all love IC drama, but OOC drama will not be tolerated, we’re all here to have a good time! Please take up any issues privately or with a mod.
Duplicates FCs are allowed, but must be okayed by the other mun.
You can have multiple muses! But, they’ll each be reviewed individually.
Ages tend to be somewhat aged-up (more like the show), so the younger characters are a little older and more ready to get in the middle of the action. This is also set around 2 years after the start of AGOT.
This is a heavily plotted AU verse, but we welcome all of your interpretations & ideas! A list of the current arranged marriage plots, and where the major characters are located in this new version of Westeros can be found below. Some things can be tweaked, but the current members have worked hard planning what alliances would fall where, so major plot points will need to be discussed with the group! There is a zero-tolerance policy for muns who disregard pre-negotiated group canon.
More info on the premise can be found here.
Of course, there are always characters who choose to disregard their arranged marriages *coughrobbstarkcough* We welcome drama revolving around characters attempting to break betrothals! Just remember, there are political consequences for those actions, Lords & Ladies are # petty little bitches.
Due to the nature of Game of Thrones & ASOIAF, this AU will contain heavy themes. Please be aware of those things, but also let the group know if you have any triggers.
Also everyone just yelled at me so I have to add: Jon’s name is Jaehaerys. Justice for the OG Aegon.
some questions we’ve answered about the gv (from the first time around) can be found here

overboard in my asoiaf au graphic series
When Sansa Tully sailed into Elk Cove with her husband Joffrey Baratheon on their yacht, she thought her stay would only last a week, maybe two tops, just enough time to have a custom closet built and installed in the main cabin. But when carpenter Jon Snow uses the wrong kind of wood, it’s just one more thing gone sideways in a world that feels like it’s crumbling around her. In one of her less graceful moments, she has a complete meltdown — and when Jon responds to her yelling and screaming with some shouted words and pointed fingers of his own, crowding her just a little too much and flinging his limbs around just a little too haphazardly, she loses it. Before she knows it, she’s shoved him away from her — and over the railing into the water below.
A fight with her husband sees her taking her own tumble overboard, but when she wakes up after washing ashore, she can’t remember her own name, let alone what happened. Technically, it’s Jon’s little half-sister Arya who has the idea to claim that Sansa is their live-in nanny, hired to cook and clean and make sure that she, Bran, and Rickon are making it to school on time without issue. She figures Sansa owes them for the work she never paid Jon for — and it wouldn’t hurt if she stuck around long enough for Jon to pick up a few extra shifts and cover the cost of the tools Sansa ruined when she threw them in the ocean. After a few days, once the hoity-toity yachter has paid off her debt, her husband will come looking for her and there will be no harm done. Right?
But it soon becomes clear that Joffrey isn’t exactly looking for his “missing” wife, and despite Jon’s protests over the initial idea, he might actually like having Sansa around. Once she settles in to the Snow-Stark household, she’s pretty good at taking care of everyone, and she seems to have taken a particular liking to him. He tries to remind himself (and Arya, Bran, and Rickon) that the arrangement isn’t permanent, but as the weeks pass it’s hard to imagine what life was like before Sansa. He almost lets himself believe that things can really go on like this forever... until her brother Robb starts making the rounds on the talk show circuit to accuse the Baratheon bastard of murdering his wife, airing out the couple’s history of domestic violence and what he believes is Sansa’s disappearance at sea.
Jon knows if he reveals the truth, Sansa will hate him, but he also can’t live with lying to her — or letting Robb Tully, who seems like a nice enough guy, think his sister is dead. Arya, Bran, and Rickon, who’ve come to see Sansa as family, are desperate to stop Jon from ruining the relationships they’ve built, but the decision may be out of all of their hands when Joffrey finally sails back to Elk Cove to retrieve his wife and prove that she never really died.
ft. sansa as joanna/annie, jon as dean, arya/bran/rickon as his ramshackle family, joffrey as grant, and robb as edith

5, 9 & 15 for the writing asks, please?
YAY thank you for the asks! :)
5 - what is the plot bunny you’ve been carrying for the longest? optional bonus question: do you ever wonder why you haven’t written it yet and experience deep existential dread?
okay, well, I don’t know if this counts because the story has been written, edited, and queried, but the longest plot bunny i ever held onto would be one of my OG ideas (which I’m not gonna go into because I haven’t settled on how I feel about sharing those here yet). But basically, first got the idea in 2003/4, poked at it for a bit, totally reworked it for my senior thesis in 2010, and then spent the next 5 years working on it. Finished October 2015. I queried 16 agents, only got one response (a request for the full manuscript, which they ultimately thought needed more work – but they were extremely nice and gave me concrit, which a lot of places don’t even do, they just reject you). Clearly they think it needs more work! So does it count as finished? (In all honesty, I suppose the ending could be tightened up a bit. I’d been working on the idea for almost 12 years at that point, I wanted it to move.)
but FIC wise? which is probably more interesting to people. Well, unfortunately (even after some digging) it seems like the answer is “How to Lose a Spy in 10 Days,” which I already recently discussed on that question meme I answered the other day. I know I had the idea before the Rebelcaptain Rom Com Challenge was announced in June 2017 and I knew it would be perfect for that, so as far as I can remember that’s my oldest rebelcaptain idea that hasn’t yet been written.
But other long-lasting plotbunnies, all from spring/summary 2017, would  include the You’ve Got Mail AU I’m currently working on, a 10 Things I Hate About You … thing (wasn’t gonna be a fic, probably a gifset with a summary beneath it), a post-war fic (my thoughts on what Jyn & Cassian do after the war), and of course the ASoIaF AU, which I attempted for NaNoWriMo in 2017 and then I got sick instead.
EDIT: I just found my original “Idea Brainstorm” doc (which is a running doc, I move ideas off of it and into their own file when I start working on them)! Using version history (thank you google docs), I was able to look at the first things I ever wrote. On February 27, 2017, I started making notes for an Anastasia AU (Ha, classic me) and the How to Lose a Spy in 10 Days AU (I was incredibly excited about the title lol). The 10 Things I Hate About You Idea was added literally the next day. So, there you go.
9 - what’s a series or franchise you secretly or not so secretly think you’d be, like, a REALLY good writers for if they’d stop being cowards and hire you already?
WELL, (a) unfortunately, I would never legitimately think so highly of myself as a good writer for anything actually legit due to low-self-esteem issues, but (b) I do regularly think that I could have improved the writing in the SW sequel trilogy and GOT (the show, specifically). Then again, I honestly think that a lot of people in fandom could be better writers than the producers on those, so? Does it count?
15 - in an ideal world where you’re already super successful and published, would you want to see a tv or movie adaptation of your work? why or why not?
ohhhh man, yes, i daydream regularly about this, of course. The idea I mentioned above I see more in movie format, but I have other original ideas that would fit a tv format better. I think different formats fit different ideas. Movies are good for shorter ideas, TV better for long adaptations. But nowadays I generally enjoy TV format better. There’s more time there for character development and world-building; these days, movies feel too rushed, like they’re trying to jam too much into them. For a movie to be really good, it’s got to be super polished and efficient at doing many things (setting up the premise, character building, world building, plot, etc etc); it’s very difficult.
Part of the “shit to ask people who write” ask meme

To be updated semi regularly. ASOIAF/GOT based plots masterlist.
HOUSE TARGARYEN
aegon/ young griff: something where brannyn tries to be an uncle pretty much. either he meets them at griffin’s roost or the stormlands, or set in the verse where he doesn’t leave the golden company.         rhaenys: something akin to fox’s ‘anastasia’ but without the romantic subplot. instead family bonding subplot.        rhaegar: au where the rebellion lost or didn’t take place & brannyn gets to grow up influenced by his older brother.        rhaegar or aegon: a quest to find the targaryen blade ‘blackfyre’        daenerys: literally all the things. allies, rivals, ALL THE THINGS.        any targy: reincarnation of aegon, visenya, and rheanys. any kind of plot canon or au, just give me flashbacks & all the emotional turmoil.
HOUSE LANNISTER
cersei: they try to forge an alliance. cersei basically using brannyn as a hired muscle & more importantly a possible useful ally against future threat of daenerys. in return, brannyn is granted land & a lordship. both continue on with this agreement, but also wait for opportunities to dispose of the other. they pretty much get caught in a deadly game of trying to kill one another, failing and then carefully continuing with their more cooperative outward appearance.
ALTERNATE UNIVERSES
greek mythology group verse: basically asoiaf/got where some of the characters are gods manipulating the course of events. brannyn specifically as ares (or enylios, but i like the parallels between b & ares)

Free from Ramsay and the Bastard's Boys, Cat, Gendry, and Davos make it to White Harbor and find a ship to take them to Meereen.
“Cat,” Gendry called from behind her, “it's time to board.” His voice was tense and quiet. Cat knew without looking at him that his eyes would be scanning the city streets and buildings before them as well, but for other reasons than herself.
Not taking her eyes off the city, she replied, “Let me have a moment.” Let me say goodbye, she continued in her head, the thought almost desperate. She'd asked for a moment, but she could spend a lifetime saying farewell and it still wouldn't be enough.

HawthorneWhisperer’s Gadge fics
The wonderful @hawthornewhisperer has written a multitude of Gadge drabbles and oneshots since making her debut with Nebraska three years ago. Her longer fics and some of her oneshots can be found on AO3 but most of her short works are only available on her blog. Unfortunately HW’s links page doesn’t work, making it difficult to find the fic you’re looking for. So I’ve compiled them all in one handy place. (If I’ve missed any or the links are wrong, let me know).
If you love HawthorneWhisperer’s writing and would like to read some of her original work, check out her Amazon page.
