After reading the 'Karma x Gakshuu reader' I'm genuinely curious what if the roles were reversed? Amano Gakshuu x Akabane Reader?

Hm, I think I'll answer this ask in a sort of headcanony way, if you don't mind...

Reader pronouns used: they/them

I think a lot of what was key to the original story was the whole 'opposites attract' trope as well as the 'enemies to lovers' theme, and I don't see that changing here.

However, due to Gakushuu being the focus love interest here, I would personally set the whole story in his natural habitat: the Main Campus.

Reader would be a student from E-class, and they would rise up the ranks to join A-class. I don't think most E-class students would want to leave willingly, but I doubt Reader's parents would force them to go, since they didn't seem to care when Karma dropped down.

Therefore, I would have the Principal himself pressure Reader into going to A-class... possibly because they're a great asset to the system due to their high intelligence and talent, and so he wouldn't want to let go of such an asset.

Additionally, I think it would be also a good idea if the Principal wanted to make Reader go to A-class so he can control them. Why? Because reader is stirring up a rebellion. They're talking to their D-class friends who haven't cut Reader off after their drop, and Reader is trying to convince them to drop to E-class, and rebel against the system.

And the Principal can't have that, can he?

So Principal sends Reader to A class, but Reader hasn't had their rebellious spirit quashed yet. They're in class, sure, but they're questioning the teachers, debating with their classmates, encouraging them towards new ways of thinking that don't involve the system, trying to spark a change in the top instead of the bottom, which is not very good for the Principal either.

This is where Gakushuu comes in.

Principal Asano makes it Gakushuu's task to keep Reader under tabs, and to neutralise any trouble they make. Gakushuu does this by making Reader part of the student council, and then promptly drowning in work.

Asshole move much, Gakushuu?

Reader is now hanging out with Gakushuu a lot more, and they get talking as a result. Reader is not happy with him, and there's plenty of passive-aggressiveness, but not nearly as much hostility as there was between Asano!Reader and Karma in the og fic.

Because Reader actually is a bit more compassionate here, and they see Gakushuu as a victim of the system, same as the other kids in Kunugigaoka.

They have plenty of debates and the such, and slowly but surely, Reader begins to change Gakushuu's mind. Emphasis on the slowly, btw. Gakushuu was raised on this philosophy, he's not going to change that easily.

But eventually, he eases up. And things become a lot more fun. Gakushuu gets a little lax on making sure Reader is too busy to start a rebellion, and they get some free time.

During the free time, they both go to Reader's favourite arcade, and despite Gakushuu never having played a single arcade game in his life he is somehow ridiculously good at them? Which pisses off Reader.

Which means they get into a gaming contest.

They spend longer and longer spending time with each other, going to arcades, markets, or just hanging about in general. And it's fun.

Gakushuu begins to think of you as being a little less annoying. Maybe even kind of a friend.

Maybe even something more, but even he doesn't realise that.

It's all fine and dandy and cool and hip and– wait, what do you mean the Principal wants to speak to Gakushuu?

Things are not fine. The Principal has found out about Reader and Gakushuu's trips, and he is NOT happy. And he begins reprimanding Gakushuu.

Oh, but what's this? Gakushuu's arguing back! He's arguing against this whole twisted philosophy of his father's, he's rebelling, he's–

Aaaand the Principal brainwashes Reader. Fuck.

It's fucking terrifying. Reader is not themselves at all, and Gakushuu hates it, hates it hates it. No matter how he shakes you or screams at you, you just keep repeated the Principal's propaganda, a puppet of the system.

He's on the verge of breaking, just like his father wants, but then, he thinks: what would Reader do?

He pretends to submit. For now. The Principal is satisfied, but he keeps you brainwashed. For insurance, he says.

Well, it doesn't matter, because Gakushuu will set you free.

And that he does, when he starts a revolution.

The Principal should have seen it coming; Gakushuu's an amazing orator, but somehow he didn't, and now there's hundereds upon hundreds of students protesting, ripping up exam papers, burning textbooks.

You, in your mind-haze, look upon the chaos, and something stirs in you.

And like that, you're back. Vive la révolution! you shout, before spiking the teacher's coffee machine with extra-hot chilli pepper powder + laxatives. Karma taught you well.

And when all is said and done, and you finally see Gakushuu again at the end of the day, he give you a Big Damn Kiss. Roll credits.

Gakushuu doubts his father would appreciate him coming home after all that, so you let him stay at your place.

Karma is a bit hesitant about letting Gakushuu stay, but you tell him he started the Kunugigaoka Revolution and Karma agrees pretty quickly.

"If you get up to any hanky-pankying, keep it quite, alright?" he says. "I don't want to lost my beauty sleep."

You roundhouse-kick him for that.

Ah, but even at the happy end, there is still one problem.

There's only one bed. Whatever will you and Gakushuu do?

waking up with acne was the WORST. the most dreadful thing that’s ever happened to you.

okay, maybe not but it’s still terrible.

you had school today, it was only tuesday so you’d have to sit the entire week with a big gross zit on your face.

you searched frantically for something, anything to cover the stupid thing up. you were ever so conveniently out of the cute heart and star shaped acne stickers that could at least pass off as an accessory and no make up could cover this up.

finally you found a face mask, and while it wasn’t the most flattering thing right now, it would have to work.

you put it on, rushing out the door since you know the walk up the mountain would be dreadful.

once you finally got to the top, catching your breathe, kayano called out to you as she started to speed walk up to you.

“hey! you’ve never looked so tired while walking up here, whats-… what are you wearing.”

she looked at you with a blank expression, staring at the black doctors mask that covered your face.

“what do you mean?” you asked, playing it cool. or dumb.

“you’re joking right?? you’re way too pretty to be wearing that thing, take it off!”

she reached out to your face, you promptly backing up. nagisa and karma were strolling in only a couple steps behind kayano, both also taking note of the mask on your face. karma could care less, nagisa was just confused.

“why are you even wearing that thing??” “no reason!”

“what are you hiding under there!!”

kayano asked, and suddenly karma was interested.

“oh so you got something to hide? c’mon, take the mask off.”

he smirked, a rather scary expression as he reached out to you and again, you backed away.

“what the- stop that, you look like a predator!”

“like,, an animal?” nagisa asked, sincerely hoping you did not just say karma looked like a pedophile.

“no.” “sigh.”

nagisa just shook his head at your comments, plus the usual bickering between you and karma since he was an ass and you liked to give him the occasional taste of his own medicine.

you went through the day with minimal teasing, ready to go home and spend almost all night getting rid of this pimple. as soon as the bell rang, you sprang up, you would’ve been out the door if it wasn’t for korosensei grabbing you with one of his tentacles, holding you back while he finished his statement. you pulled out the anti korosensei knife, going to hit him but he shook you around, knocking the knife out of your hand.

“patience is a virtue, children! it seems that’s something we’ll have to work on, ms.[last name].”

you rolled your eyes, korosensei putting you down once everyone began to actually leave.

you hurried down the mountain, eager to get home when nagisa stopped you, holding onto your shoulder to bring your steps to a halt. it freaked you out a bit how he was able to get there without you even hearing him.

“slow down! are you okay? you wore that mask all day.”

he asked, frowning in concern. you sighed, crossing your arms under your chest.

“i have a pimple that’s it, i just really wanna get home and take care of it.”

you spoke, nagisa nodding in understanding.

“here… you just leave it alone when you get home and i’ll be there in a bit! i’ve got something for you, don’t worry.”

he smiled at you and it was his turn to rush off, leaving you a bit confused.

you finally got home, changing and showering as quickly as you could but oddly enough listening to nagisa when he told you to leave it alone. after a bit, there was a soft knock at your front door. you answered of course after confirming through the peephole that it was nagisa and he bowed before entering. he had changed out of his school uniform but it looked as if he hadn’t done much other than that. he had a small bag with him but it looked pretty full.

“i hope you didn’t wait too long, i did tell you i’d bring something though. here, give me a sec!”

he took his shoes off, looking around a bit before taking your hand and dragging you to your bathroom and to the mirror.

he placed the bag on the counter, reaching into it to pull out the craziest variety of skin care products, along with what looked like a list.

“here we gooo… this is a kind of… instruction manual. it just tells you how to layer your products and stuff.”

“oh wow… how do you know all this?”

“uh, my mom mainly. but uhm, why do you think my skins so clear all the time? i know most guys don’t do this, but me and isogai have gotten karma and maehara in on it so far! don’t tell anyone, but it’s really the secret to how isogai gets all those compliments.”

nagisa continued to speak as you watched in astonishment, seeing him take out container after container along with a serum or two.

“don’t worry, i’ll show you everything this time around.”

he smiled at you, washing his hands and drying them before he touched the products and your face at that. he motioned for you to sit up on the counter, and of course you did. he seemed to be oddly good at this, not that you were complaining. it was nice to have someone who could teach you this stuff and hopefully you wouldn’t have to worry about a pimple for a long time.

Unironically Does that thing where he uses your head as an armrest

If you’re busy with something and he wants your attention he’ll just pick you up and carry you away

Because of your kindness he worries about your safety a lot, especially during assassanation attempts

Whenever you two play video games he always suggests you play the short/dwarf character

If he sees someone else making fun of you he’s all, “hey! Only I get to make fun of her, back off!”

If you have trouble speaking to other people he’ll basically translate for you. Like, you someone could ask you a question, you could look at him, and he’d give your exact answer

Insists you embrace your violent side, even if it’s small it’s still there and he wants to see it

Karma: Aren't you tired of being nice? Don’t you just wanna go apeshit?

Tends to hang out with you a lot during the day, just to make sure no one takes advantage of your kindness

Actually engages in a lot of your hobbies. He says it’s so that he can have more things to tease you about but he really is interested

Purposefully over spices anything he cooks for you (might also accidently add poison out of habit)

Bit more socially aware though

If you happen to be near him during a social event or around important people, he will refrain from teasing you too much

His face lost its faux innocence in favor of the sinister smirk that fit him much more naturally.

“There. Was that really so hard~?”

He cooed, voice teasing and mean all at once.

“All this fuss over me making you laugh yourself hoarse.”

He sighed, feigning exasperation as he made himself comfortable straddling your waist and wiggled his fingers at you.

“Time to make up for lost time thanks to your brattiness. No complaints since you asked for this!”

With that his nails scribbled underneath your shirt to attack your bare torso.

Goes right for your worst spots from then on when he tickles. He doesn’t have time for buildup, unless you’ve been really desperate and taunting him all day.

Then he draws it out just to punish you and make you really beg for it.

Don’t provoke Karma unless you want to have an early funeral; that man will make you cry from laughing so hard and take it as a compliment for being such an accomplished ler.

Nagisa's pigtails def ruffles or vibrates depending on his emotions ex. when Irina looked at him in the episode where Irina was introduced Nagisa got tense/creeped out by her and his pigtails.. horror subgenres that sunny cappuccino would love

in celebration of spooky season and my obsession with horror movies.

✰ MIMURA: The classics. ↠ FAVES: Frankenstein, Freaks, Night of the Living Dead Not exactly a subgenre, but as a filmmaker, Mimura is quite fond of the earlier works of horror. He's particularly interested in the ways in which the genre has developed, from cinematography, tropes, to scare factors. He definitely wrote a 5000-word deep dive essay dissecting that.

✰ FUWA: 80s slashers. ↠ FAVES: Sleepaway Camp, Friday the 13th, The Slumber Party Massacre It's a guilty pleasure. She calls it fast food horror. Fuwa's well accustomed to the tropes of this genre now, and paired with how clever she already is, her predictions of what's going to happen are always right. Her friends don't like watching these with her because she always unintentionally spoils it along the way.

✰ NAKAMURA: Self-aware horror comedy. ↠ FAVES: Scream, Cabin in the Woods Oh she is a super fan of the Scream franchise. I'm talking dedicated follower, owns every movie and probably has a merch collection somewhere. These types of movies just scratches her brain in all the best ways. You will definitely catch her writing paragraphs upon paragraphs explaining her theories too.

✰ CHIBA: Monster movies and supernatural. ↠ FAVES: Fear Street trilogy, It, The Thing If there's one thing Chiba loves in horror movies, it's the explanations of a complex lore of unexplainable beings. These movies tap into the otherworldly and usually have coming-of-age themes mingled within, which is right up his alley.

✰ SUGAYA: Found footage. ↠ FAVES: The Blair Witch Project, Lake Mungo, Noroi: The Curse There is just something so raw about found footage movies, and it is this very aspect that makes Sugaya so fond of them. He views it as a form of art that is very flexible. It can portray just about anyone and anything and still feel real. He considers that the magic of it all.

✰ HAYAMI: Vengeful spirits. ↠ FAVES: Shutter, The Ring, Sinister Bonus points if it takes place in a haunted house. Hayami believes that the sole purpose, the very heart and soul, of watching horror movies is to get scared. So that's exactly the type of movies she seeks out when she's in the mood for horror. Rather than intensity and gore, she best enjoys horror movies when they're built on suspense and unease.

I wonder if you could make headcanons about Reader being Nagisa’s mother, unlike Hiromi, she’s wealthy, sweet, caring and doting towards her son Nagisa. She’s married to Nagisa’s father who’s the principal of a school. Before Nagisa’s birth, she was a former assassin before giving up Assassination when she married Nagisa’s father and giving birth to Nagisa.

Hmm, well I've never actually written any headcanons before, but I'm willing to give it a shot!

Where the reader is Mrs Shiota and the mother to the precious cinnamon roll Nagisa Shiota

Warnings: very brief mentions of weapons

I can totally see Y/N being like Yor once Nagisa's grown a bit

Children are children and children are curious

So naturally, they'll want to explore, Nagisa is no exception to this and he stumbled across your old weapons

Cue your panicked attempts to get him away

But dw after quite a bit of panicked screaming on your part, you lock your room, fully intending to lock those up somewhere a child can't reach

Nagisa's totally fine, he did laugh at you tho the little gremlin

As a mother, you really do try to not spoil Nagisa, but he's just too cute, that you can't say no, you do have to be firm sometimes, but you avoid it as much as possible

It doesn't help that you have a ton of money from your previous occupation, so you really don't mind spending it all on Nagisa just to make him happy

Husband does help a ton tho with controlling the finances so that it's not spent on just buying Nagisa new toys

Being a former assassin then being put in a nuclear family situation of your own volition was hard

Turns out the normal world is much more complicated

But, lucky for you, you have your hubby to help you through it all

He can be any anime character you want tbh

Gojo Satoru if you really want

This man loves you so much, he is so willing to help you integrate into normal society

He is just so supportive and patient, being an assassin meant that you missed out on 'normal' things, so he takes every chance he can get to do the most mundane every day things with you

It's honestly just really sweet

When you finally left that life to start a family with him, he was over the moon

He couldn't be any happier

The woman he loved was ready to invest in their future together? Ecstatic barely described his emotions

His occupation came in handy for when you finally had Nagisa

Interacting with the children at his school just brought you so much joy and really prepared you for when you were ready to have a child

So when Nagisa's born, you have enough experience under your belt to confidently care for him

You just weren't prepared for sleepless nights because let's be real, babies do not care what time it is or when you last slept they will cry if they are unhappy

Nagisa honestly just remains the same, because he just inherited all his natural abilities from you

Yes, he still gets mistaken for a girl, and Karma 100% still tries to get him in a maid dress

I just think Nagisa has a feminine face in the assassination classroom universe which means even with his short hair, some still think he's a girl💀

You are 100% supportive of whatever he chooses to do, whether that is growing his hair or keeping it short, it doesn't matter to you because he's still your sweet precious child

When his class has to assassinate Koro sensei, you started to give him little pointers to help him, as though you were just teaching him maths

But his small "No thanks, I'll be fine" and your husband's warning glare put an end to that really quickly

Besides, you used to be an assassin, not a teacher, just leave the teaching to your husband, an actual teacher

Is exactly what your husband told you

Cue some sulking in the corner moments

Nagisa did start to piece together some things after that incident

The kid is smart

He had his suspicions about your life before he came into the picture, but he doesn't delve any deeper than little theories

That's for you to tell him whenever you were ready and Nagisa understands the importance of privacy

Overall, the family dynamic is very wholesome and sweet and loving and caring

Which is what Nagisa totally deserved

However, you have your unusual moments together as a family

Like the time you knocked out several people who were trying to kidnap your son

But it's normal for the Shiota family

And you guys wouldn't have it any other way

I had this idea where Nagisa's mom and Gakushu's dad got together and then, one night they (the parents) decide to have a nice little dinner to tell their children about their love for each other. So Nagisa's mom tell him that some ppl are coming to his house and THEN.. when the Asano's are here, Gakushu and Nagisa are like "😦" (shocked, internally wants to throw themselves through the window)

Can you do a one shot about it? (Like- what is happening in the dinner 🍽 and how the parents are gonna tell the kids about their relationship ect ect)

Hi! I'm doing well!

I don't ship Hiromi and Gakuho and they are some of my least favorite characters next to Yanagisawa and Takaoka, but I'll do some headcanons of Nagisa and Asano's reaction if that ever happened!

I'll refer to Gakushu as Asano and his dad as Gakuho

● Nagisa and Asano would both think the exact same thing.

● Match made in hell!

● When his mom told him that they were having company over for dinner, the last thing Nagisa expected to who was visiting was his principal, and to his dismay Asano as well.

● Asano wasn't happy being there either but he didn't really have a say in it since his father made him go.

● Nagisa would try to hide away in his room to avoid having to talk to them but his mother wouldn't let him, making him sit down and talk to Asano while she got dinner ready.

● And what really confused the two boys was that Gakuho went to help her as well as hearing some laughing from time to time.

● But during dinner, the two students were shocked when Gakuho and Hiromi revealed that they started dating.

● At first they didn't know what to say.

● They both just wanted to throw themselves out the window at that moment.

● Nagisa and Asano may not like each other at all, but the two would try to find a way for the two adults to change their minds about it all.

● Nagisa would even ask Karma for help, much to Asano's annoyance.

● Karma was equally annoyed with the request, but he would eventually agree to helping out for Nagisa's sake since they were friends and classmates.

● They would stop at nothing until they get Gakuho and Hiromi to split up.

Here! I had done the first four seconds as a pretty barebone (but satisfying) edit a while back, but decided to make a longer version.

My perception of Sugaya as a non binary person using they/them pronouns kind of comes out (ha!) of nowhere, but I'm attached to it.

My headcanons tend to fluctuate, but the key thing is that they have no care in the world. Just like in canon, I'd dare say.

I'm really happy with the result, and I hope you too! It was very fun putting it together and having to hunt within the show for the little screentime they get...

For clarification, the transfem flag around Kurahashi and Kataoka is Sugaya feeling a 'trans feminine'-adjacent* gender envy towards them, not me headcanoning them as transfem specifically.

I had no idea how to communicate it better, but I hope it was still enjoyable! Sugaya do admire Megu's bodyline canonically, so it felt like a good choice for her to be someone they look up to.
