Appearently GW is giving away free models each month in their stores, so I picked up this guy. making him my first primaris model.
I still prefer firstborn marines, especially for the multi part kit posable freedom, but the sculpt is nice.
Also nice digging up my green and gold paints again.

Ladies of the Flame
My next attempt at a Chapter/color scheme for lady space marines.
Orange is an unusual color for space marines so I was excited to give it a try. Came out very similar to my Shaltari for Dropzone Commander.
I made a lot of mistakes in execution and it came out very rough, but art doesn't need to be good to be worth doing. I did learn that it is important to do a test model first. Would have saved me time and trouble.
The lava bases are a new thing for me and I think they came out pretty well.
I picked up the models for cheap from a friend who wanted to exchange his primaris for 30k models. The build is not my work, except for the 3 heads I tore off with pliers and replaced.
I got alternative heads on Etsy because this is supposed to be an all-femme chapter. They seem a little small on primaris bodies but overall I like them.
I think the next chapter concept will be The Lavender Menace.

Yesterday I played a 2k game against a friend of mine :3
I was ultramarines (his models) and he was necrons (his own stuff)
my list comprised of
Guilliman
Marneus Calgar
Apothecary biologis
2x Librarian in Phobos (1x fire discipline)
Librarian in termie
Techmarine
Heavy intercessors
Eliminators
Infiltrators
Suppressors
Termie Ass. Squad
Mario kart (invader atv)
Kratos tank
Redemptor dread
Bringing it to a total of 1995 points B3
He brought a list of uhhhhh necrons loll
(Some proxies in there, with def not a dread and helbrecht)
The game itself was interesting because the rules were the deployment zones were split to the table corners with two per player with it alternating so I had bottom left and top right corner. You would designate one as alpha and the other omega, then when deploying the unit you roll a d6 (1-3 alpha, 4-6 omega).
So for deployment, PRETTY MUCH EVERYTHING WAS PUT ON ALPHA WITH GUILLIMAN ON OMEGA ALONE WITH SUPPRESSORS
luckily I had some units with infiltrate that I put on the side of guilliman to help him out a bit.
Meanwhile my friend had a good balance of units on each zone . ..
On turn 1 I ended up going first , which is what I wanted. I made the destroyers with dmg 6 my oath of moment target and ended up wiping it and the void dragon as my second oath target.
On his turn 1 he did some damage on my dread (6 wounds taken) and he moved his ctan void dragon and I overwatched the kratos and did 5 damage on him. And the void dragon did some damage on my ass. termies and I removed them in a way that made his charge a 12’ charge which he failed. On the other side he moved his warriors closer to guilliman.
On turn 2 I moved up more units to the objective near the alpha deployment zone for me. And had the void dragon killed through a bit of shooting and the void dragon exploded , which killed his doomsday ark and destroyed my dreadnought ;;
On the other side I went into the assault doctrine to advance and charge guilliman and the infiltrators and librarian into the warrior blob. I made the charge and spent a command point for precision on guilliman to kill the overlord. I used the emperors sword (14 a, 8, -2, 2) and ~11 attacks went through and 1 deb wound.
..THE OVERLORD SURVIVED !!
that guy is ANNOYING
He has a 4+ invuln, 4+ fnp, 6 wounds and for 1 com point he can come back to life after being killed 💀💀
(Guilliman and the warrior/overlord were tied in combat for 4 turns in total lmaoo)
By turn 3 we were trading units, with him taking more losses than me but in points it was going 9 for me and 17 for him. It was so over for me, or rather I thought it was lost.
However on turn 4 THINGS TURNED
At this point I was able to move most of my units from alpha deployment into 3 objectives and guilliman and his group killing enough to out compete the warrior oc for that obj. So in primaries I scored max and in secondaries I got investigate signals and assassinate, AND I SCORED MAX FOR THAT TOO BRINGING ME UP 30 POINTS
at that point it was going like 43 to 31 in my favor with him having less and less units on objs.
We stopped at the top of turn 5 with me having units on 4 in of the 5 objs, the overlord finally dying , and him having only 2 units left. It was a pretty fun game that I couldn’t have guessed to have ended with me winning pretty good at the start with it going like 60-something to 30-something in my favor.
I typically play black templar with heavy emphasis on melee so it was diff playing primarily shooting and using librarians for once loll.
(Hopefully I remember to actually take more pictures next time I decide to do this again loll :3 )

New year, new army, 2023
It's been... a year. And my Salamanders have been there with me along the way!
My first Salamander was painted up as part of my "mixed marine project," in late 2022, where I painted up members of a whole bunch of different space marine chapters to test my painting skills and all that.
Then, in January 2023, I officially decided on my New Year New Army project when Games Workshop announced the space marine specific battleboxes.
I took my first box of intercessors and tested out a few different color schemes, as well as some possible basing options
And I eventually tested out using a lighter base color and settled on my final core color, Vallejo Light Green.
In Late February, I finally officially painted the first unit of my army!
Adrax Agatone joined the fight, and I eventually kitbashed a Librarian for my chapter using my extra Agatone body (I bought two copies of the battlebox)
After that, I got distracted by some other projects - with my group starting up a Crusade and me running my chaos space marines, I spent some time painting up a couple additions to that army.
During this block of time, a whole bunch changed in my personal life. I started dating my longest relationship in years, I lost my job, my old roommate moved out... It has been an eventful year, for sure.
In November or so, I started thinking a little more about the lore surrounding my custom chapter (now officially called the Forges of the Divine Dragon, or just Forges for short).
Early in December, I really took back up working hard on the last push of getting this army together, as I'm planning on running it for my group's next Crusade. I made a custom Captain model to represent Chapter Master Calgrex, started to add some tanks to the army to play into the Firestorm Assault Force, and even got some Forge World terminators to add to my force. (When there was still a Forge World brand to buy from.)
I even tried out kitbashing some Scouts to add to my army so it's got a cheap objective holder. Overall generally feel a lot better with my kitbashing skills that I've built up through the year.
And finally we get to the finale. I have added, seen below, a custom Terminator Captain and Terminator Chaplain, as well as some other new terminators and one final unit of intercessors.
And finally, with the whole army together, this wild year of 2023 is coming to its end. These guys have been a great project to work on this year, and I'm very excited for what New Year New Army 2024 will bring (I've already got... plans)
