Nimsain exhausted herself past her limit, and died trying to beat Feuriah. It’s quite common to happen during these fights, although the goal isn’t to kill the other, many die giving it their all. Quitting a fight isn’t illegal, but could shame the loser can feel could also drive them to die in battle.
