[translation: “Well, I’d rather be the second in my village than the first in Rome.”] (written in portuguese bc honestly I’ve read these comics in portuguese my whole life so I’m just used to it)
This jerk (historically know as Julius Caesar) once said something in the lines of “I’d rather be the first in a village than the second in Rome”. So I thought this here would make for a cool scene
Some new fellows are going to join the village! Do you recognize them? They’re in to fight some romans! Would you join them? Or do you need first a bit of help with the magic potion?
But where is Panoramix? He should be done making it by now! How can Astérix fights romans without it?
superman's son's coming out as bisexual even made it to the german radio show my mom always listens to and they said how big a deal and how much of a first that was, but having grown up on european (belgian) comic books, I have to disagree.
because i always felt that spirou and fantasio are dating, i mean they live together and spend all their time together and never have girlfriends or other romantic entanglements (at least not in the franquin comics). similarly for asterix and obelix.
and isnt tintin canonically ace?
although this might of course be due to that good ol' misogyny, that they just didn't include female characters...
G was rescued from a roman camp by the village where they've been held prisoner for an indeterminate amount of time. The Gauls decided to adopt G into the village. G's quite secretive about their past, to the point where no one knows where they came from, what their gender is, or even their proper name. But G doesn't mind that.
