 A collection of Alien Redesigns I did last year while working on Ben 10 Forever, a fan-project that is on hold for the foreseeable future. The idea we were aiming for was Ben a year or two after Omniverse, a little older - somewhere between the OG series’ uniforms and Omniverse’s uniforms. We didn’t notice I’d made a mistake making the Omnitrix’s background white until it was late into the designs so we decided to keep them as a unique detail. 

 The missing aliens include: Ghostfreak, Clockwork, Armadrillo, Big Chill, Humungasour, the other Upchuck, Wildvine, Eye Guy, Echo Echo, Jetray, Brainstorm, Goop, Lodestar, Ampfibian, Armodrillo, Chamalien, Shocksquatch, Eatle, Gravattack, Crashhopper, Ball Weevil, Walkatrout, The Worst, Toepick, Bullfrag, Atomix, and Gutrot were all done by my co-creators. How is Jim as Astrodactyl?

Jim unlocks Astrodactyl during his first fight with Canon!Strickler. Basically Recipe For Disaster 2 Electric Boogaloo where he and Trollhunter Jim switches places. C!Strickler had been very suspicious about the Young Atlas sitting before him.

The boy remained nonchalant despite the Changeling revealing his troll form. It became clear that this isn't the same Jim. Both boys switch places before the dinner visit ends albeit the fight only resumes once our Omnitrix Wielder is on his way back to Trollmarket.

Already knowing the jig was up, Jim goes to turn into Masquerade but gets Astrodactyl instead. His Astrodactyl is closer to an actual Pterodactyl in appearance such as the needle like beak to larger wings that run down his arms with a second set inside the jetpack.

Canon!Strickler didn't expect to the fight to become airborne especially from how fast Jim adapted to this new form. To our hero, Astrodactyl moves very similar to Masquerade so it made understanding the new transformation easier. C! Strickler retreats as it becomes he clear he is very outmatched.

The Changeling doesn't mention this development to anyone though. It seems greater forces are at work.

As for the Canonverse, Omnitrix Wielder Jim is stuck for the first half of Season 1 until Bular is beaten. Doesn't mean he won't keep in touch with his alternate self. This Jim needs some reassurance and advice so they communicate through a Grey Matter modified Plumber's Badge quite often.

You can say the Omnitrix Wielder is quite protective of his Trollhunter self. And boy shall it be ugly when finds out how far Merlin will actually go once Troll Jim happens.

Would Jetray in HT be more underpowered? Like he won't be able to go into hyperspace?

Absolutely no light speed travel. Dumbest ass-pull of the show. Like, at best it could’ve been an Ultimate ability, but I hate the idea of Jetray having space travel abilities generally. I see him as a primarily sea/air only.

If any flight-based alien could do it, it should be Astrodactyl, Ultimate or not. A space-related word is literally in his name. Granted, he wasn’t a thing yet, but still

rewatching b10 again skipped uaf etc etc we’re most of the way through omniverse and while i feel like i picked up more stuff i didnt care for this time around im also taking extra time to pay attention to the background art this time caus it rly is the stand out feature. still despite everything debut of rook ester zed blukic-driba and some of my fave omnitrix aliens atomix, FEEDBACK🏳️‍⚧️, whampire, bullfrag, bloxx, kickin hawk etc also realized on this rewatch that gutrot’s voice is a columbo impression LOL

 Abilities:  

Can unleash sonic screams.

Can create several clones of himself, which among all are very strong.

Can use his sonic screams to create sound barriers, soundboard, echolocation.

Can transmit his screams through speakers and phones.

With his backpack can fly at an incredibly fast, able to leave the stratosphere in just a minute.

Can shout energy beams from his mouth.

From his gauntlets can shows energy whips and stars.

Can survive in the vacuum of space.

 Weaknesses:

There is a limit to the number of duplicates than can make.

Has to be one again, otherwise, when some clone becomes returned to Ben or some other alien, each clone will develop different personalities.

If a clone is hurt, it does not recover again due to some transformations later.

Because the clones are made of silicone, they can easily be destroyed by a powerful beam.

If have a cold or sick, he and each clone have uncontrollable sonic sneezes.

If his backpack is damaged, it will be impossible fly.

Is vulnerable to electricity.

My Ben 10 Reboot

Fuck it if I ever *do* make the comic it's a long way off *so*

Here's how I'd reboot Ben 10

The Mission Objective is 'The Baddest Kid to ever save the day' and by that I mean, I want to recapture the 'punk kid' attitude that Ben had in the Original Series that was pretty much air-lifted and relocated to Kevin from Alien Force onwards - leaving Ben as a more goofball with a heart of gold characterization.

For the sake of this being a different format this would be a 10 episode season more in line with modern TV (most notably in my head, My Adventures With Superman)

So here's the broad strokes. The entire season is located in Bellwood, Ben is about 15-16 when he finds the Omnitrix on a school field trip at the end of the school year. The show takes place during the summer but Ben is in his home town and is balancing a more traditional teenage home life and 'I just got superpowers' drama.

When the Omnitrix lands it draws the attention of a secretive organization: The Forever Knights, who come to Bellwood in the classic hat & trench-coat get up as boogey-men looking for Ben. When he is first pursued by these attack Ben flees to his cousins house to hide, revealing to Gwen and her boyfriend Kevin.

The first season takes cues from Stranger Things as the trio try to juggle normal teenage lives, avoiding the Forever Knights, and using the Omnitrix to help out when other strange things start happening in Bellwood.

And now just some notable plot beats I'd want to cover

Animo is a kindly biology professor who Gwen trusts with Ben's secret to try and help them, in his efforts to remove it he is driven mad in an accident and driven mad by wanting to understand the Omnitrix's mastery of Genetic Manipulation.

Greater focus on the core setting of Bellwood and a ordinary supporting cast. They might get dragged into the adventures sometimes but a lot of the characters are just normal highschoolers/parents/etc

The Forever Knights are earth's replacement for the Plumbers and are why they're no longer active on earth.

Gwen does magic, no Anodite stuff yet if at all.

Kevin, as always, is still also a 'bad boy' but like in the OS, as time goes on it'll be revealed that deep down Ben is naturally good, and deep down Kevin isn't. He'll be kicked from the trio in S2 with hope for redemption down the line.

When Kevin is out of the trio, sometimes he'd be replaced with Max othertimes he'd be replaced with Cooper.

Grandpa Max exists but isn't made aware of the Omnitrix until the end of S1/start of S2 when Tetrax shows up and it's revealed they were partners in the Plumbers years ago. They could've helped if only Ben had known to trust them.

As for Ben's aliens I picked a selection from the previous shows but I'm not married to this selection nor do I think the core 10 should *only* be returning Aliens:

(I swear I have nothing against Omniverse I just don't like most of the alien additions and the ones I do like, eg Feedback, Gravattack, Astrodactyl, Bullfrag, Atomix, Gutrot, and Whampire, wouldn't be good 'core 10' additions.)
