I do actually think that Tomie is Purva Bhadrapada coded.

The themes vehiculated through her character correlate so well with plenty of elements associated with Purva Bhadrapada.

The first being of course her Femme Fatale quality:

- Claire Nakti mentions on her PB video that PB women are commonly protrayed as femmes fatales in the films noirs of the 40's because PB is actually the end of the artificial world in a GOOD vs BAD sense, so here the individual is put in the desert: his purity and capacity to hold onto his dharma is tested.

Tomie actuallly represents the desert for men as she pushes them to their limits, forcing them to engage in morally grey acts but also by questioning their devotion to something or a person exactly like the femme fatale in the 40's film noir.

Purva Bhadrapada is associated with Rudra and Nagas : the angry god and the snake

Her snake side represent the raw seduction that eminates from Tomie, an ashlesha-like quality about her.

Her appearence being so appealing to the male gaze that it becomes almost uncanny, as if the danger slips through her perfect form and flashes in front of their face but she still manages to pull them in.

However the presence of Rudra here indicates big emotional outbursts like the ones that she frequently have or the ones that she instigates in men conducting in her violent deaths

PB represents the destruction of the material world as it is associated with the fiery dragon that destroys the material world, so because of that PB individuals like to collect materialistic things however, they will find themselves displeased by these material possessions as what they research truly is the true essence of things not just the visible qualities of these objects.

In the end, it will provoke anger connducting in the destruction of material possessions.

This destruction doesn't only concerns possession but that of the individual also. As PB nakshatra is associated with the sacrificial table on wich is performed rituals, Tomie is quite literrally a sacrifice as she is being destroyed by these men over and over again most of time with a weapon such as the knife traditionaly used in a sacrifice.

There are much others associations between her and PB nakshatra but i'm tired.

The fact that she needs to be burned to not multiply for example.

However, I can not help but to see the Hasta symbolism in her character

- she stays eternally a virgin as no men is able to truly possess her : her virginity is figurative as she can not be owned by them.

Anyways she is a Purva Bhadrapada icon

Vishakha, the star of purpose thus of dedication.

Vishaka translated from sanskrit means "the poison vessel", "forked" or "two-branched". Vishakha is "the power to achieve many fruits in life" this nakshatra is like pushya directed towards agriculture but I wanted to describe it's relation with fire in this moodboard.

The main deities are Indra and Agni who associate Vishakha with fire (Agni) and dedication and passion (Indra), Vishakha embodies the fire of dedication, it represents fixation. Indra is the one who create thunderbolt and thunderbolt create fire. The "poison vessel" refers also to the ability of fire to destroy indiscrimately and the "forked" refers to the duality of this nakshatra which is ruled by two deities also lies between two rashies: libra and scorpio, the separation of two individuals (I will elaborate on that later)

Devotion is also a proeminent theme of Vishakha: the burning passion that pushes an individual towards the achievement of his goal, not only that but also the burning passion between two individuals.

Vishakha is associated with Hestia, the goddess of the olympian fire who was charged by Zeus (thunder god and her boss) to keep the fire alive.

Who should I do next! Not all of the charaters have known birthdays and def not birth place! But like with Hatchi based on clues of where she was born and that she met Nana on the train--who is from a very snowy place. I was able to reseach what proveince this might be and get an idea of location. Let me know! This is a ton of fun!
