Athos: I've only ever said I love you to two people: my ex-wife and a dying Aramis. One of those I regret
D'Artagnan: Which one?
Athos: Aramis
D'Artagnan:
Athos:
Athos: He survived the gunshot wound and now I look like an idiot

Athos and Milady could have been the ultimate power couple but it seems the writers were afraid of success

fans will see athos and milady completely hating each other and trying to kill each other multiple times yet say "they should have ended up together, they gelled better than athos x sylvie" meanwhile athos completely adores sylvie and nearly died when she was kidnapped by grimaud. he was HAPPY with her.

David (Lost Boys) is the son of Athos and Milady de Winter.
The only two media piece I'm considering for this post are "The Lost Boys" (1987) and "The three Musketeers" (1993). Any other book, comic, etc is not relevant.
This is internally based in the fact that Kiefer Sutherland plays both David and Athos.
• David was born around the 1630s, a few months after the end of Athos' and Milady's relationship. He didn't know she was pregnant and she left the baby in a basket at the door of an orphanage.
• Therefore, David is actually french. His name is actually pronounced "Davi", but people in America never got it right and he got tired of correcting them constantly and just goes with "David" (but he'll melt if you say it properly.)
• He was turned when he was 19 (in the 1650s) by Max.
• Max chose him because he was a young orphan man who nobody would miss, and you can't get bored when David is around, that little troublemaker.
• Max knows who are David's parents, and he was really shocked and surprised when Alexander Dumas decided to write a book about them.
• David really doesn't know much about his parents, Max only told him that his father was a musketeer and that his mother was a genius. He's not much of a bookworm, so he never actually read "The Three Musketeers" and he definitely doesn't know that's his parents story.
• They moved to America during the French Revolution, because Max was afraid David would says some shit and get them exposed or guillotined.
• Athos never discovers that he was a son.
• Bonus: Dwayne participated in the ✨ Boston Tea Party ✨. Not because he believed in the American dream or any of that. He didn't even know was happening, but throwing a bunch of big boxes into the water sounded fun, even more knowing that there was tea inside of them.

Watching the Three Musketeers Milady liveblog
So the woods scene of Athos and Milady makes me so emotional despite the fact that I don't understand the dialogue. Also the Greensleeves??? The kiss? The hug???? This altered my brain chemistry.

Athos and Milady de winter
I love these characters separately, and even though they are not married in the Sanjushi anime, but I was wondering if this version was like the one in the book, and well, when I watched the anime I kept hoping there would be some interaction between them, but there wasn't. Btw i loved this anime thanks to my sister

In his dreams she is there, and nothing will ever be simple again. Athos and Milady, in the still and distant night.
(Or: I realised I forgot to cross-post this onto here. Older Milathos fic that never saw the light of the internets at large, now on AO3. I spent part of my Xmas holiday uploading some of my older work onto there, as well as getting sucked into new things.)

rewatching the second season of The Musketeers (bc is my fave) and can I just say that this show was robbed of a fourth season, it definitely deserved one
(even after the STORYLINE HELL they made Milady go through)
