Korra Gang X Geisha (LoK) Reader

Characters: Korra, Mako, Bolin and Asami Sato

Genre: Headcannons

Warnings: mentions of prostitution, Fluff, by Reader's profession, female pronouns will be used.

Geisha: Japanese girl who is dedicated to entertaining and keeping men company by dancing, singing, reciting poetry, serving tea, etc.; She is dressed in the traditional Japanese dress.

Korra

Most likely, she met you during Book 2, at the gathering in honor of Unalaq and the northern water tribe. Being a relatively important event there is also specialized entertainment, so you and some girls from your house were hired to make the meeting a little less tense. Korra found it endearing even if she had no idea what a Geisha was.

Sometime after the banquet, her curiosity got the better of hee and she decided to go ask you directly about it. You were shocked to say the least. The avatar was talking to you! So while the conversation and explanation flowed well, you were a constant nervous wreck.

As you explain them to Korra, her face lights up a bit more, it's interesting how something seemingly simple actually requires years of understanding, and she respects that a lot.

Suppose you stay in Republic City to independently improve your abilities, rest assured, Korra welcomes you with open arms and plenty of moral support.

Going straight to the dating stage, korra is someone who like I said not only supports your work but sees all the effort and training behind it, you're not smart but you can do things she could only dream of . play an instrument? do you dance? Poetry? DO YOU SING? DO YOU SING FOR HER?

Since she goes to important events from time to time, I think I would encourage you to go with her and promote your services, if you agree, she stays around to play it safe. You never know.

And if you decide not to, she'll probably talk about it a bit anyway (especially if the person she's talking to has money).

Now, in case someone gets confused with what you do (like the Oirán example) it is already there to prevent any advance, if it is something innocent (ignorance) it will only give a warning, but if it is an important physical advance, it will Sorry friend, say goodbye to your teeth.

Genuinely offended that someone could mistake you for something like that (no offense).

In short, she finds it very endearing and above all admirable, she respects hard work and you deserve all the respect (and love) in the world for her.

Asami

She goes to meetings often, so it is to be expected that there will be entertainment in those meetings, especially if it is about Barrik for example.

But was pleasantly surprised when you performed your act(dances), expecting something much more "Barrik" so it was a breath of fresh air.

Most likely she researches geishas after that and she becomes more interested in it, she wants to know more in a practical way. So she makes sure to subtly tell Barrik that Geisha training would be appropriate in the future, and he agrees.

The next few times you're hired for meetings, your main activity is striking up a conversation with Asami, and being both well-read and intelligent women, it's not difficult at all.

She's delighted with this, you're someone with above-the-average general knowledge, which makes her initial interest grow bigger and bigger the more times you see each other.

When they start a relationship, as I said, she investigates more about the profession and solves her doubts, maybe I asked you, but at the same time she wants to learn it herself.

She definitely enjoys her chats with you a lot, but if she chose another activity to do with you, it would be listening to you play the Shaimen, especially when she's stressed (Barrik's to blame in most cases).

I probably can't make it to all of your events, so I'd ask if you'd like to have something like a bodyguard in case my mother-in-law does something (including asking Bolin or Mako to be there for a while as a favor), and if you say no, it will want you to update it from time to time to be calm.

If it were to happen that someone mistakes you while she's around, she'll most likely glare at them before simply walking off with you. He doesn't tolerate that shit.

It is the best option if you want to take advantage of all your knowledge and artistic skills, she is your number one fan and in events your own personal guard.

Mako

You two met through Wu, obviously he was going to have expensive and extravagant entertainment, but to appear a bit more "sophisticated" he hired all the geisha in your house. It was a great opportunity that they could not pass up. .

Mako, being Mako, while he kept up with Wu, he stuck to the only entertainment that REALLY caught his eye. he has no idea what a Geisha is, but he definitely likes her acts a lot more than the ones Wu brought, and you catch on right away and make small talk to him(and later to Wu too, who by the way still doesn't pronounce "Geisha" appropriately).

From then on, Mako sticks like glue every time they go to an event, giving rise to their current relationship.

As you may have noticed, Mako finds it relaxing compared to all the acts Wu himself performs, it's much more entertaining for him at those times, whether it's a normal chat or just listening to some music (especially the Shaimen), even if is in a particularly good mood, he may join you in the dance.

If he didn't know what a Geisha was before, he didn't know what Oirán was, so the first few times you get mistaken for one, think it's part of a geisha hierarchy, other than you just ignore it. , then it does the same.

That is until a guest tries to get too close and the other geishas jump on him and practically kick him out, then they explain in more detail the work of a Geisha and an Oirán, he is left confused. Who would be stupid enough to confuse you like that? Really? The only thing they have in common is white makeup! Has no sense!

From then on,You better hopes to have Mako near he almost always, it's not because he thinks that you can't take care of yourself or that the other geisha can't, but understand, he cares a lot about you and he I don't want you to have a bad time for some idiot being brainless.

He still keeps some distance if you ask him, it's your job after all, he doesn't want to get you in trouble with your teacher.

He likes to see you prepare your makeup, the hairstyles you put on and thinks that Kimonos are much more complex than they seem (and HEAVY), he admires the dedication you give to your work, he compares it to what it is to be a detective for him (yes, that important).

In general, he respects your profession a lot and supports it 100%, just make sure you take care of yourself and that he is calm 👍 and if not, he Will kicks they ass it himself.

Bolin

I honestly believe that they met when you were still training to be a Geisha, he would be the only one who has known what it is for a long time, he asked you many questions. Why is your face so white? Do you even eat? Where are those clothes from? Where do you come from? Are you a princess or something like that (you look like one)? Would you be her friend? etc..

You couldn't spend a lot of time with him because the training is very demanding, but he was always very friendly with you, you didn't have to say no, so your few days off you and Bolin would go for a walk around republic city, just do things of your own. age, go to pro-bending tournaments, drink some tea, etc.

It really makes you feel better about yourself thanks to those little moments, obviously being a Geisha was what you wanted, but it wasn't easy.

Luckily Bolin is there to give you moral support! Once he tried to get into the Okiwa house to cheer you up and they kicked him out, he learned his lesson, don't worry.

When you're FINALLY an official Geisha, expect Bolin to celebrate with you as if it's an achievement for both of you, he knows full well how much that title means to you so he's so glad.

Unfortunately it also made your already limited free time even more scarce, you had to learn in the field, so you constantly went to parties and events that left you exhausted.

Luckily Bolin, although a bit sad, fully understood, you worked so hard for this and he doesn't want you to lose it because of him.

However, on some occasions you escape from homework and go to do things like see him in his pro-control training, which seems to give him a very high energy rush, if you can't attend, dream of asking them to turn on the radio to listen to the game and the next day you congratulate him for winning or console him for losing. Before you know it, their apparently platonic relationship turned romantic, they don't know how it happened, but I don't know what they're complaining about

As far as you work, Bolin is THE BEST about it, he can even learn how to do your makeup and thus 1. Spend more time together and 2. give you a hand, he even does some really nice hairdos.

If someone confuses you with an Oirán, he react SO OFFENDED (even more than you). Really upset about something like that, I mean, even HE sees the difference. Is it really that hard to understand that they are not the same thing?

He definitely loves dancing above all else, he joins you and they even give him a fan to match.

Best boy ever, both as a boyfriend and as an assistant for the functions.

(Slow Burn Type Story)

Mako x Reader

Pt 6 Masterlist

Summary: Darkness is hovering over the city. Dae is one of many struggling to survive in the city without any control. Police have exhausted all efforts to save the city. The Avatar saves Dae after being captured by Bolin and Mako. Dae, a master swordswoman, then follows the group to save her spirit friends in the city.

Dae rolled over in the bed. She grumbled incoherent words in her sleep.

"Dae... it's time to get up." Asami nudged her.

"No, it's not." She grumbled again.

"Yes, it is." Asami nudged again.

Dae squinched her eyes and rubbed the sleep away. "I liked it better when I slept in. Good morning, Asami."

Asami giggled. "We did too, but we're almost there. We have to get ready for the waterbenders."

Asami left the room to help Mako with breakfast.

Dae got dressed and walked to the kitchen. "Good morning, everyone." She called out.

Bolin sat on the couch, feeding Pabu. "Good morning." Dae walked to the kitchen. "Can I help with something? I can make the tea."

"I got it." Mako said through gritted teeth. It was quite different from just the other night when his voice rang the same words in a caring way.

"Oh, okay. Is there anything else?" Dae asked. Asami eyed Mako from the side. He was normally an asshole but it was usually directed at her and Korra's PDA. Not at just anyone.

"You can do the dishes with Bolin after breakfast." Asami smiled at Dae.

"Alright." Dae said, walking back to Bolin and Pabu.

"Did you sleep good, Bolin?" She asked, sitting next to him on the couch.

"Like a baby turtle duck." He flashed a toothy smile. "I'm super excited for you to meet Opal. We are almost there. Korra is out watching for land."

"I'm excited to meet her. What is she like?"

Bolin told her all about how incredible Opal was and how much she meant to him. Each word seethed into Mako. The vegetables he chopped became smaller and smaller. The sound of the cutting board became louder and louder. Mako slammed the knife into the board. Silence fell over the room. Mako walked to his room, slamming the door.

Dae stood up and walked to the kitchen timidly. "Can I help you, Asami? Did something happen?"

"I was about to ask you the same thing... he was fine until you came in." she trailed, trying to say it in the most polite tone possible. "Yeah, can you make the tea... and tell me what's going on with Mako?"

"I just talked to him last night." Dae said, turning on the stove and putting the pot of water over the stove.

"What did you say to him?" She asked.

"Respectfully Asami that stays between us. I can't tell anyone. That wouldn't be right." Dae said, steeping the tea in the warm water.

"Fair enough, but whatever it is, you both need to fix it. Remember, we are going against spirits that feed into their environment and the energy around them, " Asami warned.

"I'll see what I can do." Dae said.

Breakfast was made. Bolin went to get Mako, who had calmed down enough to sit and eat. Korra came down from her watch point and sat at the table. "We are almost there. We will be there in the next few hours."

Dae stayed quiet, fearing that anything she said would set Mako off again.

"Pabu is excited to be there, right Pabu." Pabu was wearing a cute little winter outfit.

Korra and Asami's gaze met each other, feeling the tension in the room. Asami smiled at Bolin. "I love Pabu's outfit. I have to get my winter clothes set out. Dae, do I need to get some ready for you?"

"Yes, if you dont mind. I have a long sleeve shirt. I'll have to double-check my bag for a jacket." Dae said, not lifting her eyes from the plate. She continued her silence for the rest of the time with the group.

Breakfast finished up. Mako started up the fireplace and retreated back to his room. Asami set out some winterized wardrobe for herself and Dae. Bolin and Dae cleaned up after breakfast.

Asami leaned against the doorway. "Dae, I'm getting the clothes ready for when we get there I have some pants, and have the shirt you gave me but I don't have a jacket did you find one when you double checked your bag?"

"No, I didn't." She washed the last dish, handing it to Bolin to dry and put away.

Asami chewed her lip. She already knew the answer but figured she would ask. "Bolin, do you have an extra jacket?"

"I can go check." He put the dish away and walked to his room.

Asami walked across the kitchen. "Are you okay? Did Mako say something to you? I'm sorry. I thought that you upset him, but I didn't even think about it. It could be the other way around until I saw you at the table."

"I'm fine. Like I said, this is between us. Don't worry about it. I'm sure we'll be fine." Dae took on a timid smile.

"Okay..." Asami trailed. Her eyes turned to Bolin as he stepped into the kitchen with a jacket in hand.

"Mako said he had one you could wear." Bolin flashed his toothy grin again. He handed it to Asami to put with the other clothes. Asami's brows lifted her eyes, widening towards Dae. "Okay. Then I have your clothes when you're ready to change. Thank you, Bolin. I'll have to thank Mako." Asami said, walking out and back to her room.

A few hours later, Korra called out that they were docking at the North Pole. Everyone had changed into their winter clothes. The door opened, revealing snow on the deck. Dae crossed her arms, trying her best to keep her heat in. The snow crunched under their feet. They made their way down into the village. "Opal!" Bolin yelled, disbanding from the group. He ran to her, and they held each other close. They kissed each other deeply. "I missed you so much," Opal said softly but loud enough the group could hear. "I missed you more." Bolin held her tighter.

Mako tensed. Dae never met his eyes but could feel the energy shifting around him. He looked away from the pair scowling at the ground.

"Dae, this is my girlfriend, Opal. Opal, this is our new friend, Dae." Opal and Bolin had made their way to the group. Opal giggled softly. "You're the crazy girl?"

"Yup, I'm the one. It's nice to meet you, Opal. You're just as gorgeous as Bolin said."

"Thank you. You're not as Crazy as Jinora said but just as pretty."

"Thanks," Dae giggled.

"Hey, Mako." Opal turned her attention to him. "Hey Opal, it's good to see you." Mako put on a half-hearted smile.

"It's good to see you too." Opal moved onto Korra and Asami, greeting them, leaving Mako and Dae to themselves.

"It's pretty here. I just wish it wasn't as cold." Dae tried to break the ice with Mako. He was still stone cold to her. "It's freezing." Mako said quickly, then walked towards the center of the village. The group followed after him, still just catching Opal up on the plan.

The group all arrived where people were gathered. Opal and Jinora had already been there to inform everyone of the problems that they were all facing.

Korra stepped up in front of the village. She began her speech to get the waterbenders to board the ship with them to stop the spirits. Of course, adding the possible impact to both tribes if they didn't.

Dae stood next to Mako. It seemed this would be a regular thing now that Opal was with Bolin. Bolin was holding hands with Opal, and Asami was standing at the stairs waiting for Korra to finish her speech.

Dae looked up at Mako. She figured she should set things right, or they may be stuck together in an endless sea of couples sharing embraces on a ship where he hates her. "Thank you for letting me borrow your jacket."

"You would have been a block of ice out here without it."

"Yeah, it's so cold out here. I bet if you told someone to freeze before arresting them, they would."

Mako broke into a smile. "That's stupid."

"You had to stop yourself from laughing, so it's not that stupid." Dae looked back towards Korra, smirking.

He rolled his eyes, and his expression was more neutral and relaxed. "You were right." He spoke suddenly.

"What?" Dae's eyes lifted again.

"Don't make me say it again." He said his eyes were still trained on korra.

"No, I heard what you said. I just expected you to still be mad. You exploded this morning."

"I was mad at you until Bolin started talking about Opal. Then, I was mad that you were right."

"Oh." Dae looked back towards Korra, who was finishing her speech.

"I'm sorry." He spoke softly. His eyes traveled down to Dae. "I'm sorry I've been so harsh. I was going through a lot. You didn't deserve any of this."

"Don't worry about it." Dae shook her head.

"Thank you for not telling Asami about our conversation. I could hear you two in the kitchen." He admitted.

"I'm never going to tell someone your business. I got your back, remember." She lifted her eyes meeting Mako's gaze.

"Y-yeah. I remember." Mako stumbled over his words. Something about Dae standing there wrapped up in his jacket smiling up at him was shifting his confidence.

"Follow me." Korra called out to the group of waterbenders along with her friends. Everyone began boarding the ship.

The group all began settling in with the waterbenders. Kya helped guide everyone into rooms, setting them up to have a bunk to sleep in for the travel.

Writing contest: Stars in your mind

Hello!

(The application is at the bottom)

So I've decided to make a small writing contest, where you'll have to complete an application (ofc everyone is welcomed). I'm not sure yet of the prize, so if you have any suggestions, leave them down bellow.

Basically, this is a contest where you can let your creativity flow and have fun, there is no pressure. There is no commitment, if you just one to use the themes, you're more than welcomed.

There will be 5 themes and you can participate in at least 3 of them to win the contest (if you participate in all of them, even if you don't win, you’ll get a bonus prize).

You can join anytime you want, the contest will last until June. For example, if you want to participate in May, you will complete the application then and if you do 3 of the 5 themes, you can still win.

If anybody wants to be a judge with me, you can text me in private or in the comments. BUT, we won't give much negative feedback nor will we stress out the participants because the whole point of this writing contest is to help people get out of their writers' block and/or have fun.

You don't have to write only romance!!!

Romance is just one of my preferences, but any genre is welcomed.

You can participate in the contest with:

your own OCs (own characters)

it can be OC × any character from a show

Characters from any animated show (animes or cartoons)

I'd rather have you all chose between these shows, to make the grading objective:

But you can choose from any show you want.

Other things:

(be aware of the trigger warning that will be at the end)

You can add explicit content in your fiction

There will be a time limit, but if you're late, it's OK, you'll get 5 points off. If you're on time all of the contest, you'll get another special prize.

English is not my first language, so I will not take off points for grammatical mistakes or stuff like that.

Post it on AO3 or Wattpad with the title of the book: The Writing Contest: Stars in your mind. Each chapter should be a theme. For example, instead of chapter one, you will name it the theme name: (then you can add anything you want for a title) .

If you don't plan on publishing any books, I'll give you reviews and comments + repost any 8 pieces of writing you'll make (outside of the contest, of course).

or if you only have one, for the next two books you'll write, I'll comment on them, just @ me.

And for the third option, I'll give you reviews and comments + I'll repost any 4 pieces of writing you’ll make (outside of the contest, of course).
