Do you have any series that you really wanted to have in the crossover but couldn't becuase it would break too much lore? I think there's MHA which can't fit without breaking too much or changing a lot but do you have others?

Off the top of my head it really is like. Big series I like that take place either in a fantasy world and/or have their own incompatible Magic Systems but without any connection to being an alternate dimension.

So yeah. I would love to have put bnha into it. But that has so much of it's own system in place that I can't put them together.

ATLA is a series I enjoy but couldn't ever work in because it takes place in it's own fantasy world entirely with it's own world and magic system I can't fudge around with. Same with Legend of Zelda. RWBY as well.

Things like FMA and Fairy Tail also fall into the 'fantasy world' category, but do at least have some basis of inter-dimensional/timeline travel in their Canon(Fma has the Conqueror of Shamballa movie which, while part of 03 rather than Brotherhood, does feature him going to irl Earth. FT has the Edolas Arc for this though it's another fantasy world rather than Earth.) that I might be able to fuck around and find out.

There's the various things from the Mouse Cinematic Universe which I couldn't fit in because I can't justify a whole bunch of sapient animals living in a shadow society that mirrors Humans.

I have a low-key side crossover I jokingly call the 'furryverse' because it's series that have no Human characters, only sapient animals. Things like Zootopia, Sly Cooper, Ducktales, Darkwing Duck, Kung Fu Panda, etc. Could make this another planet I suppose but it's questionable.

Debating on Gregory Horror Show being involved or not. Not sure if that'd be furryverse or if they're just animal-like monsters and ghosts and the like.

That's off the top of my head and just. Yeah basically. That's kinda where I am on that.

It's all good.. that's just how I've always associated the difference between AUs and Crossover rps. Other people may interpret them differently -- but that's just the easiest way for me personally to separate them.

Especially when it comes to rping with characters from two different fandoms, but you don't know how to fit either character into one particular fandom. For example; Izuku interacting with Aang from ATLA.

But like I said at the end of the last ask... some of my favorite rp interactions were with Toph and the basic premise was just her "traveling after Aang beat Fire Lord Ozai". And as a result ... I just threw her at a few wrestling character muses, Greed from FMA, as well as Tamaki and Haruhi from Ouran.

If team Greedling were in ATLA, do you think any of them would be benders?

hmmm, I haven’t thought about it before!

i feel like ling would’ve been something originally but honestly idk what element would be most fitting - fire would parallel with prince zuko which would be funny but it almost seems too obviously aggressive which has me leaning towards water or air more. air would explain how the fuck ling can survive jumping out of buildings as much as he does. Actually fuck it i changed my mind ling’s a non-bender and just mastered the sword instead. 

Even if ling did have bending I feel like whatever bending he had would get sort of snuffed out when greed shows up - idk if any of the homunculi could be benders, i guess in the Atla universe they’d probably spirits of some sort? That feels like the closest parallel at least. So they could keep their weird abilities by virtue of being inhuman - that or they’re all weird bending subsets like the Red Lotus from s3 of korra. Greed would probably be some flavor of earthbender if that were the case given the carbon - maybe a metalbender?

Ed def has something going on and was probably born a bender. I feel like maybe instead of getting clapping alchemy he and al instead get access to some of the other elements - idk if they’d get all 4 but they might get at least one extra that they naturally shouldn’t have. 

Darius and Heinkle I don’t think would be benders since the military might not risk benders being turned into chimera, or whatever equivalent thing they are in this odd au. Can’t make wrangling the other children that easy for them otherwise what’s the fun in that~

fullmetal alchemist and ATLA taking place in the same setting is simultaneously very natural and really hard because on the one hand, FMA is kind of pseudo-european in a lot of places and therefore doesn’t gel well with the nature of ATLA as a pan-eastern Asian fantasy with elements from indigenous cultures and sources from all over the world, so its hard to figure out Amestris’ continent as just a place there

but on the other hand, given both settings emphasis on the flow of the world and the general philosophical approach they take, the themes feel so NATURAL that it practically demands a crossover, its just really hard to figure out a fusion

(my best suggestion so far is ‘Amestris and the general area being from an isolated region on the Western part of the Earth Kingdom, separated from a cultural context that would create bending but Energybending surviving as the inspiration for what became ancient alchemy in Xerxes’)
