Hey! Just a quick update for this week! I'll be busy with Atomicon (selling merch with co-workers and friends), wrapping up current work deadlines and have a vet appointment all within the week so I'll be gone for a little bit as I take care of everything. 

 My Etsy store will be closed for a day during the convention I'll be selling, then it'll be reopened with the updated in stock items! 

I got a lot of beautiful gifts I promise to reply to as well (THANK YOU ALL!! You know who you are ;D <3 <3) and will continue to answer non-spoilery asks about Lone Emmet and Cub and finish off some commissions when I get back!

Another male OC with facial hair and a bit more beefier than in the picture.

His hair actually starts out as black then turns to a bluish indigo.

Yes. Those crystals do have something to do with his Quirk. He can grow them anywhere on his body, mainly his back. Also, they made him look pretty.

Personality: A man full of pride, Saizo is proud of both himself and his heritage. He takes great ease in knowing the impact that the Monster Wars franchise has had on both pop culture and the film industry and works hard to preserve his grandfather's legacy while also evolving and changing.

Due to his tall stature, muscular build, and often stoic face, Saizo is quite intimidating-- even if he truly means no harm. Not to mention that he's tough. Sometimes people will reject his help out of fear that he'll hurt them.

As much as he presents himself as a stoic tough guy, there are times where he breaks that-- especially with someone he likes. He becomes shy and soft spoken.

Primary Quirk: Space Gems

Saizo can grow crystals to charge for his psychic powers including telekinesis, telepathy, and mind control. When this happens, his crystals begin to glow. However, there is another unique ability the crystals have that Saizo keeps secret: they can absorb energy from any heavenly body (such as the sun).

Secondary Quirk: Kaiju

Saizo, much like most of his family, has the physiology of a kaiju. While not giant like one, he's still is taller than the average person-- being close in height to Hades (Kagehiko Ankokugai). This grants him abilities such as a supernatural condition-- endurance, durability, and strength--, natural weaponry, and the ability to detect other powers. He also has a mix of an alien and reptilian look, having a long tail coated in a crystalline substance as well as his curved horns.

If You Give a Frog a Cookie Review

When I typed the title it autocorrected to "Recipe", which I think was appropriate.

A lot of observations this time!

The first thing I noticed, before I even got past the first sentence, was how the Plantars have STILL NEVER HAD A PIZZA. Seriously guys. Pizza was teased in both Hop Luck and Lily Pad Thai, and you still haven't done anything with it this season, despite several interesting premises where it could have fit in quite well.

The second thing I noticed, still in the opening scene: Anne did get used to all the food in Amphibia having bugs in it by the end of Fort in the Road, but she never liked it. If you remember her dream in Night Drivers, "No bugs" was the most beautiful thing she'd ever heard. So it makes no sense why she would put cicadas in the cookies, presumably after she's been back to eating human food for a while.

Now, skipping ahead: when the Plantars enter the Brainasium, and Polly and Hop Pop both have lines, Sprig is just flapping his fingers in an "I want to touch everything in this place" kind of way. Great subtle continuity from Hop Till You Drop.

Now, on to Terri! (Yes, that is how it's spelled, according to the wiki). My first thought upon seeing her was "I recognize that voice from somewhere. It was kind of androgynous, but I'm pretty sure it was a girl. And I know she played a major role in a show I've seen recently. No, not that show, another one." Then I looked at the wiki and found out that her VA is Kate Micucci, and everything clicked. Suddenly I knew that that voice belonged to both Sara Murphy and Toby (the kid from the future in The Goulash Legacy). My next thought was "So... why does she have blue hair?" And my next thought was "A Milo Murphy's Law character just referenced Phineas and Ferb in Amphibia. What are the odds?"

Also, in a blink-and-miss-it gag, Frakes seriously used Terri's key card to get into her own lab. What's that all about?

Now, another reference that was lost even on the wiki is the whole scene where Frakes opens a portal to the wrong dimension, then says she can only hold the portal open for about 5 seconds. Both were problems faced by Phineas and Ferb in their first movie; when they tried to open a portal after being separated from Dr. D. and Other Dimension Dr. D., they opened it to the wrong dimension, and when they finally got a portal to their own dimension, it was so unstable it collapsed the moment Candace came through.

Another fun blink-and-miss-it gag is that after Terri says "She's heading for the dissection lab!" a kid's foot is seen stomping on the floor, and on the wall behind the foot is written the Quadratic Formula. Obviously written by one of the actual scientists in the place and not by one of the kids. I just felt a compulsive urge to point that out.

Now moving on to the last scene. First, Terri apparently subscribes to Atomicon (a convention about atoms, I guess?) and STEM Weekly (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) magazines. And second, how is it possible that there was ALL that traffic going one way and only ONE vehicle going the other way?

And a few final thoughts: what is Dr. Jan going to think when she finds out about this whole thing? When will the new friends we've met so far finally come together and start actually working on the goal of returning the Plantars to Amphibia? Will Froggy Little Christmas be a one-off episode like The Shut-In, or will it be a secret plot episode like Hop Popular? The answers to some of these questions and a whole lot more, coming up next time!

Nichelle Nichols Embarks on Farewell Tour and Announces Documentary

Beloved Star Trek actress Nichelle Nichols has decided to call time on her touring and public appearance schedule. She will be embarking on a farewell tour which will culminate in a special farewell even next May. She is also working on a documentary about her life, which is currently crowdfunding.

Nichelle Nichols Farewell Tour And Convention

The original Uhura, Nichelle Nichols, has announced she will be making her final public appearances over the next 12 months, with her last being a special “Hailing Frequencies Open…One Last Time!” convention on the first weekend of May 2020. It was revealed last year that Nichols was diagnosed with moderate progressive dementia and she plans on moving in with her son Kyle, who has been acting as her proxy and is joining her on her farewell tour.

For her final appearances, Nichelle is doing photo opportunities and signings, but not panels.  According to a representative for Nichelle Nichols, she is confirmed for the following upcoming events:

May 16-19 – MegaCon – Orlando Flordia

May 23-26 – Phoenix Fan Fusion – Phoenix, Arizona

June 28-30 – Wisconsin Comic Convention – Milwaukee, WI

July 4-7 – Florida Supercon – Miami, Florida

July 12-14 – Shore Leave – Baltimore, Maryland

July 31-August 4 – Official Star Trek Convention – Las Vegas, Nevada

October 3-6 – New York Comic Con – New York, New York

May 1-3, 2020 – Nichelle Nichols Farewell Convention – Burbank, CA

For more info on Nichelle’s upcoming events see her schedule at uhura.com. A representative for Nichelle says more dates will be added to the list. Also, note some of the above events have yet to be added to the website as new dates have been just recently confirmed.

Guests are still being lined up for the Farewell Convention next May, but the lineup already includes Star Trek stars Walter Koenig, Tim Russ, and Marina Sirtis. There are also a number of TOS guest stars lined up including Gary Lockwood, Sally Kellerman, Michael Forest, Jack Donner, Charlie Brill, Tanya Lemani, BarBara Luna, and France Nuyen. Some behind-the-scenes people from TOS will also be there, including writer D.C. Fontana. The event will include a party and a banquet, which Nichelle will attend and there are plans for a final stage event with various TOS celebrities and Nichelle as well. The convention is being managed by AtomiCon (formerly PlanetXpo) who also produced James Doohan’s Farewell show in 2004 and Walter Koenig’s Hollywood Star Celebration in 2012.

Nichols documentary seeking crowdfunding

Nichelle Nichols has partnered up with the team behind Renegades who are seeking to produce a documentary about her life titled Breaking Barriers. The goal is to tell Nichols’ inspiration life story and how she has influenced others. “Nichelle’s story is so important – not only to our generation, but all generations,” said producer Sky Conway. The producers are hoping to develop a “sizzle reel” with Nichelle which will be shot on a replica of the USS Enterprise (the one formerly used by Star Trek: Continues). This reel will be used to pitch the doc to distributors to get the full documentary made. They are currently crowdfunding for the sizzle reel with a goal of $25,000. Pledges of $10 and more will get access to the sizzle reel itself along with more collectible perks based on the level. Pledges of $120 and more also include tickets to the Nichelle Nichols Farewell Convention.
