Celestia Fic Recs
Adaptability by PekoIsBaby [CW for vague descriptions of canon main character death and detailed description of minor character death] is a roughly 3k character study fic about Celestia that takes place in a hell-esque (though there is no religious connotation) after life directly after her execution. Celeste meets death and, with her mastery of deception, tricks the being into playing a game. The story itself is fascinating and I believe it’s a good show of Celeste’s own personal values and perspective on her own trial. https://archiveofourown.org/works/28824069
From One Liar to Another by Midnightdemonht [CW for descriptions of murder and canon main character death] is a roughly 13k character study fic detailing the course of the first game’s third chapter as Celeste plans and executed her murder plot. While this fic is labeled as a Hiro character study I feel it throughly studies Celeste as well as it is entirely from her perspective. It’s perhaps the most in character Celeste I’ve read, acknowledging her selfish inclinations while still reliably making her human. I don’t get emotional over many fics but this one did make me tear up. The perspective on Hiro in this fic is also extremely interesting to me, as it’s a completely unique read on the way he goes about things and is a fascinating study on what Celeste and Hiro’s relationship could have been like. https://archiveofourown.org/works/32243209
Mirror, Mirror, on the Wall by downwithcisbus [CW for descriptions of gender dysphoria] is a roughly 600 word ficlet studying Celeste’s relationship with her body and her aesthetic. This fic is predominantly about Celeste being trans and as a trans person myself this headcanon means a lot to me. A House of Cards by Sunset_Green [CW for vague descriptions of canon main character death] is a roughly 2k character study fic detailing Celeste’s own fantasy and motivations at the end of the 3rd trial. This fics examination and subtle details as Celeste gets lost in her own head are utterly fantastic and it’s a lot of fun to pick out all the subtle clues put in. This fic has a very grandiose and almost poetic sort of tone to it which I think very much suits Celeste.
