Last song: Los Angeles - The Midnight. Love their songs it makes u feel nostalgic for everything u never had 🥺🥲 and I've also been listening to this genshin lofi hiphop playlist endlessly while working 😌

Last show: My Liberation Notes and also Jujutsu Kaisen (I honestly suck at watching shows, I never have the time to really sit down and give my 100 while watching it so I always watch the trending ones ages after they're.... done trending)

Currently Watching: Spy x Family (been putting this off so I could watch the remaining 'new' eps with my sis but we both haven't had time yet 🤣)

Currently reading: Good Girl, Bad Blood (2nd book in a good girls guide to murder trilogy... reminds me of childhood Nancy drew days) and also Deep Work but I haven't made much progress on that yet!

#atruegift #christmasgifts One year I went home to Newfoundland for the holidays - and dear old Santa Claus gave me a ruptured appendix. So I spent most of that Christmas in hospital. My biggest claim to fame was that I lost 13lbs. About a month after I got back to Toronto I found this letter in my mailbox. My sister sent it to me from my nephew Stephen - who was no more than 10 or 11 at the time. You see while being at home I had attempted to teach my young nephew a lesson about the value of a dollar and that I couldn't buy him anything for a while because I was off work so long. But as you can see - it was I who was taught both the value of a dollar and the truest value of love. A gift given from the heart will always outweigh and outshine any other gift - because it truly is priceless. And though Stephen is no longer with us - isn't it amazing how his gift still shines bright and the love of a child once again teaches us how to be better grown ups. Drumline Cadences mean so much more to me, it's not just music. It's all around about how we incorporate our style and heritage into something that people can vibe out to. The music itself is a mere symbol of how much, and how often we as BLACK people forget that music has helped us out of so many times. I just want to be thankful that I even have the ear to hear and notice certain notes and melodies. Thankful for the gift of overall and all around good music.
