Despite sakusa’s tone, i cant help but cradle my cheeks and gush about hinata as bo and i follow the other three inside. Trying my best not to also get flustered by miya and failing absolutely miserably.

“He’s so sweet, i like him!”

I whisper as i point at hinata excitedly and giggle when kou wraps his arm around me again to keep me close.

“Guess i like you too, koutarou— don’t get jealous already~”

a few months into your relationship with sakusa kiyoomi, he finally, begrudgingly introduces you to his MSBY teammates and when you hear atsumu and bokuto refer to him as omi-omi, something in your brain just clicks — like a light bulb just went off.

that's the cutest fucking nickname for your boyfriend, ever.

later that day, after you bid your goodbyes and kiyoomi quickly ushers you out of the gym and into his car, you're buckled in the front passenger seat while kiyoomi is starting the car, your phone immediately connecting to the bluetooth stereo.

"wow, your teammates seem like a handful, but they're pretty great — right, omi?"

and kiyoomi whips towards you worryingly fast, eyes immediately narrowing and conveying his many emotions without a single word: irritation, regret, betrayal. meanwhile you blink back at him with an innocent smile, though the MSBY outside hitter can very clearly see the mischievous twinkle in your eyes.

"don't call me that," he snaps without any malice, one hand reaching over to you and delivering a light flick to your forehead. kiyoomi can only sigh deeply when you burst into a flurry of amused giggles as he pulls out of the parking lot.

to his despair, you easily disregard his warning and start habitually calling him by his dreaded nickname.

it begins with you proudly showing him the new contact name he's listed under on your phone — omi 🖤 — at which he huffs bitterly and proceeds to lunge at you, pinning you down on your couch with one hand and the other beginning an onslaught of tickling to the spots he knows are your weakest. amidst all the squirming, laughing and tears in your eyes, you can barely make out him grumbling something about damn miya and bokuto and never should've let you meet them.

you don't learn anything from that incident, of course. in fact, it spurs you on even more.

the next several times you call him omi, there's a playful lilt in your tone and you're always looking at him, lips upturned into a sly smile and expectantly waiting for his reaction (and ready to run away, too, in case he decides you need to be punished). however, neither of you can seem to pinpoint a moment when you start to actually, unironically call him omi. it just happened so naturally, from the way you call out his name when you greet him on your dates to the softly whispered good nights through the phone when the two of you can't seem to press the red end call button and wind up waiting until one of you fall asleep. when you're trying to grab his attention during a match, your familiar voice shouting words of encouragement from the stands always comes through from among the crowds of volleyball enthusiasts. even when the both of you are alone, spending time that he cherishes the most in your shared apartment, and you ask him what he would like for dinner as he holds you close in the kitchen and swaying you gently while pressing butterfly kisses on your forehead.

hi, omi. good night, omi. good luck, omi! do you want chicken, omi?

every time the name rolls off your tongue, kiyoomi hates it a little less and grows to favor it over any other pet name. he even finds his heart will involuntarily pound uneasily whenever you start a conversation with his full first name, wondering if you were feeling alright or if he'd done something wrong.

a whole year after you start calling him by the teasing-turned-term-of-endearment name, you’re slipping under the covers with sakusa kiyoomi, nestling under the warm blankets and into his side as his arms promptly circling around you to pull you closer, and he hears the four simple words he treasures the most from you.

“i love you, omi.”

“i love you, too, y/n.”

Gojo is your high school enemy turned early thirties husband because it took that long for him to slowly creep his way into your life. He plays the long game, this man.

He’s a bratty high schooler. Pulls your pigtails even though you’re way too old for those kinds of games. Always crashing your dates with Shoko and Utahime. If you give anyone more attention than him, he bites - seriously. There’s a neat little row of perfect molar imprints on your arm from him taking a chomp out of you when you spent too long talking to Getou during training. He’s annoying, like a dog that hasn’t been walked enough to get all the energy out of his system.

But you get used to him the same way people get inoculated to deadly diseases. At some point you get used to him crashing your hang outs. You expect him to be waiting outside your door to walk you to class, sharing his crackers (which drop crumbs all over the floor) while he tells you about Digimon.

When he pulls back, it leaves you cold. It’s unfair. He was a constant in your life and now he’s not. You don’t understand until you finally can’t take it anymore and give chase. When you find yourself in his arms, he’s smiling down at you, and you know this was the plan all along.

hi moo! i saw a tweet about creators of online works (like fox writers, web comic artists, etc.) wanting to get feedback since it’s not very often they can go online and look for it outside of their platform so i just wanted to hop on and let you know how much i love your stuff!

you are the reason i even started reading fics! (technically it was my friend who was reading it that got me to but shh) i think i’ve actually told you the story before but it’s silly so i’ll say it again anyways! my friend was reading a lot of haikyuu stuff and i think this was before season 4 finished but like there had been a few episodes probably since you wrote about atsumu at that point but idk if you’ve read the manga so maybe i’m completely wrong about the timeline. ANYWAY, my friend had sent me a bunch of screenshots of different fics she was reading but she was telling me about this one where daichi was a bartender and him and oikawa were best friends (sound familiar?) so of course when she sent screenshots of that one i had to look for it. now at this point i had NO idea how ao3 worked and more specifically the searching (i have no idea how i managed to actually find it😭😭 i still can’t use the searching for anything but very broad stuff) but i spent HOURS typing in the same quote from that screenshot (pretty sure it was the homemade chocolate for valentine’s day scene) and narrowing down the word count to maybe like 500,000-600,000 words because she mentioned it was 500 something thousand and then with enough effort i found it!! i was so excited i read all of it in like two weeks in the middle of packing to move across the country😭😭(thinking back, definitely not the best use of my time but for the best🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️).

it’s kind of a stupid silly story, but without that amazing story i would’ve never found your work, let alone anyone else’s unless one of her silly screenshots caught my eye like that one and who knows if that would’ve happened🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ now i get so excited just thinking about what might happen next in your other stories and i’m your #1 biggest fan❤️❤️❤️

can’t wait for the next post you make, and maybe if you update open tab in the future i’ll have to make myself a mint julep🤔🤔 i hope you’re having the best time writing and doing whatever it is that you do in your free time and that you’re taking care of yourself!!!! sending so much love your way this summer!!!

i actually started writing Open Tab shortly after Atsumu's first appearance in the manga at that training camp with Kageyama, and had to base his personality off of those tiny itty bitty scenes we got of him, so when nationals rolled around and we got to see more of him (like that he is an identical twin, wowzas what a shock) i got to see how my interpretation of him was a little off. I wrote him more as a smooth asshole when in reality he's way more prickly and childish and goofy. In my big Open Tab edit, I'm trying to subtly alter his character to better suit that without completely changing him. in fact, i originally planned Atsumu to be this kinda... antagonist type character? but then i decided that i couldn't actually make any haikyuu characters be real bad guys and i had to make him sympathetic instead. rip

The miya twins fever is real!!! But ugh fracture will forever have a special place in my heart 🖤 i love how twisted samu is in that fic and I don’t know, i feel like that fic has a lot of potential in the horror category,,,just imagining osamu killing the ppl that hinders his relationship with y/n—friends, potential suitor, a staff from onigiri miya who just happened to stare at them a bit too long, or even family (i think atsumu’s a good guy here, but that’s just me). Also the fact that glitter and rot!osamu has the same vibes as fracture!osamu says a lot! There’s the manipulation, the gaslighting, and even the somewhat underhanded cheating allegations surrounding their character, but gosh you’re actually the one they’ve somehow been cheating with hahhaha

All in all, i just want to say how much i’ve enjoyed reading fracture and that’s probably my most favorite fic of yours 🖤🖤🖤🖤

You know I was thinking about this – Samu killed the reader’s sister in a split second moment of rage and panic. She’s threatening divorce, which puts her in the very precarious position of standing between Osamu and his obsession.

It isn’t something he planned, he just… snapped. Of course it all worked out well (for him) in the end, but it was never something he consciously considered – at least not seriously.

So off the bat I wouldn’t say he’s the ‘killer’ type. Not intentionally. Not to begin with. But let’s say someone truly pushed him, let’s say that someone became a threat, and Samu felt that same sense pulsing haze of white hot anger taking over,

Let’s say he snapped, and there’s another dead body on the floor.

And what do you know, sometimes violence is the answer, and removing the ‘problem’ entirely does wonders for his relationship <33
