She’s finally here.
Tumblr media
Notes:
- Was only able to make a version with traditional Chinese, didn’t want to take the risk of butchering Japanese text.
- The version depicted here is in the Go timeline. Like Yuuka, she would be attending high school now (around 17 years old here).
(Translation (more or less): Mysterious and scary delinquent young (school) girl, Jin Yasuko).
Version with just the full-body sprite.:

It was her house-a Goldilocks retelling
This is actually a second draft but I wanted to share. Please let me know if anything is unclear!
The thing is, Goldilocks thought it was her house. Not the bears' house. Not that it mattered when she saw the bears. Three, angry, large creatures with fangs and teeth looming over you. Terrifying, especially when you're an eleven year old child.
She didn't have the courage to fight them or confront them. So she ran back to the village, to find Prince Jayden, and tell him what happened.
Goldilocks didn't realize this, because she was young and only thinking about safety, but Prince Jayden was just telling a crowd about how they needed to kill the bears who'd killed poor orphan Goldilocks.
Prince Jayden pretended to be happy when the young, crying girl came into the crowd and hugged him. That the red on his face was happiness from being trusted, and not from anger and embarrassment at being proved wrong. At loosing face.
Once the crowd left he imprisoned her in a room. A nice one, so no one could say he'd been abusing poor orphan Goldilocks. But there were no toys, no books. Just a bunch of fancy pretty things Goldilocks was forbidden to touch.
The walls to that room were thick and heavy. So no one heard him yelling at Goldilocks. Accusing her of trying to humiliate him. Saying all sorts of obscenities, then berating her when she cried.
Then he left, and thought of what he needed to do. His people didn't trust him anymore! What could he do to fix it?
Jayden's advisors told him of a man-eating dragon.
Later, Jayden came to Goldilocks, pretending to be nice and apologetic. He told her he'd take her to her new house, and protect her from the evil bears. He even grabbed a bow and arrows to prove it.
Goldilocks didn't recognize the path. But she chalked it up to not knowing much of the city.
They stopped at a huge cavern. Goldilocks stood too close, looking at what was below.
Something shoved her. She fell, down, down, down. A scaly claw grabbed her. Goldilocks looked up to see a dragon. She screamed at Prince Jayden to save her, but saw him running away.
Goldilocks stopped screaming, then.
The dragon flew, with Goldilocks in his claw. Then it deposited her in its cave, because it wasn't hungry. Then it curled up to sleep.
Goldilocks also curled up. But not to sleep.
Plenty of time to think about what had happened. Prince Jayden giving her the map to the bears' house, yet berating her for surviving. Him running away instead of saving her. Maybe he'd been the one to push her?
No-Jayden was a kind, nice prince. He'd promised her a home, and family. It was the bears' fault, for breaking in and intruding.
Jayden would come and save her. At least, Goldilocks hoped so.
An hour passed. And an hour without anything to do often feels like a day, especially to children. Even a scared child.
Then two hours passed. Then three. Then four. Goldilocks gave up. Jayden wasn't coming. She'd have to save herself.
The dragon had slept forever. Goldilocks almost thought that the dragon would never wake up. That she could sneak out. She stood up.
The dragon woke up and glared at her. And then it started speaking in a raspy, high voice. "You think you can get away like you did with the bears?" It asked. "Oh, no, no no no no. Unlike them, I can fully make sure you face the consequences of your actions. No matter how fast you run, little human, I will still catch you." The dragon smiled.
Then it glared at her again.
The dragon grabbed Goldilocks by the ankle and hoisted her high into the air. "You spoiled brat! You think you can get away with breaking into someone else's house? Not only that, but eating their food, breaking their stuff!" "It was my house! The bears were just intruders!" Goldilocks said. She ignored the voice in her head, that sounded like Prince Jayden yelling at her for surviving.
The dragon shook Goldilocks, and berated her for lying. Goldilocks protested. Saying that the prince gave her the map to the house he'd gifted Goldilocks. That it was supposed to be her forever home. Goldilocks even stated that she'd double checked everything just to make sure that it was her home and not a stranger's.
The dragon laughed and asked if he was truly supposed to believe it. No adult would make a child go alone to find her house. They'd bring her there. To do otherwise would be cruel.
Goldilocks said that dragons must have different standards, because adults were mean to children all the time. That they hit children and turned them out into the streets and took their stuff.
And lied to them...tricking them...for their own gain. Goldilocks stopped talking. Anger washed over her as she realized that yes, Prince Jayden had lied to her and hurt her.
The dragon didn't believe her. Goldilocks glared told it about all the times adults had hurt her and beat her and yelled at her.
A loud noise was heard in the middle of one of Goldilocks's stories. The dragon dropped Goldilocks, then went to see the disturbance.
It was one of the bears. They ran into the room, yelling about how the prince was trying to trick the dragon (who turned out to be named Jade) into eating Goldilocks and then having the justification to kill it without dragon advocates getting angry.
The bear even brought out a map to her house, with Jayden's writing on it.
The dragon froze, going even more still than it'd been when sleeping. Then it roared-Goldilocks covered her ears-and stormed out of the cave.
Goldilocks and the bear stared at each other. But then a noise was heard. Yelling. Prince Jayden came in, along with a crowd holding pitchforks and swords.
They stopped when they saw Goldilocks. The bear then pushed Goldilocks towards the crowd. The crowd was angry. There was no dragon, just a bear. Jayden tried to speak up, saying that he'd been wrong about the bears and that they had freed her from the dragon.
The bear spoke up, talking about how it was all a trick by Jayden. Jayden started yelling back at the bear.
Goldilocks started yelling back at Jayden, saying that it was the truth, that he'd lied to her. The crowd started yelling, and then Jayden started yelling at them.
In the chaos, the bear left unnoticed.
Eventually Jayden realized that he wasn't going to win. He apologized. The crowd glared at him, then left, muttering the whole time.
Leaving Jayden and Goldilocks alone. Jayden glared at Goldilocks and tried to grab her.
Goldilocks used her escaping skills and dodged him. She ran out of the cave, Jayden hot on her heels.
But she was faster, and got away. She managed to get so far away that she couldn't see him anymore. Goldilocks stopped to rest. Suddenly an arrow shot towards her and hit her in the chest. Goldilocks stumbled and went down.
Jayden came into view, and grabbed Goldilocks. He yelled at her, and pulled out a knife. He was about to stab her when a scaly claw grabbed him.
It was the dragon. It threw Jayden in the air then ate him whole in one bite. Then it grabbed Goldilocks.
Goldilocks screamed. And someone else did too. "Put her down, Jade!"
Goldilocks and the dragon looked to see two of the bears, growling. The dragon sighed, dropped Goldilocks, then flew away.
Goldilocks stared at the bears, then apologized for breaking in and said she'd fix the chair and replace the porridge she'd eaten.
The bears agreed to it. Goldilocks fixed the chair and made porridge. She got ready to leave, but by the time she was finished it was raining there was a storm with a tornado. The bears insisted she stay, so she didn't die.
It was awkward at first. Goldilocks didn't know what to do. But then the little bear started talking to Goldilocks and asked her to play with him. He said he was lonely because there was no one his age to play with.
Goldilocks agreed.
The storm was still going strong when it was night, so Goldilocks ended up sleeping on the couch.
In the morning the storm was finished, so the bears said they'd escort Goldilocks to her house. Goldilocks frowned and said that she didn't have a family.
The bears paused, and went to the corner to talk a bit. The conversation looked pretty heated. When they came back they said that they'd be willing to take care of Goldilocks until a human family adopted her.
Goldilocks started crying and asking why they'd want to adopt her when she'd caused so much harm. The bears told her that they'd always wanted a child and knew it wasn't her fault. Plus, she'd made up for it by fixing the chair and making porridge.
Goldilocks didn't accept the deal at first. But one month later in the middle of a storm she asked them for shelter. They agreed.
It lasted for one day. But Goldilocks kept coming back, until one day she was staying with them permanently.
And she finally learned which bears were which, and later became best friends with Jade.

the only one who is at fault for this is, well... Him. For being a shit parent, for putting you through all of this bullshit and for forcing you into a caretaker role.
yes, your best doesn't necessarily mean perfect or even good, but you're trying. you're trying so hard and you deserve to be acknowledged and appreciated for that. sure, sometimes you fuck this up, but that doesn't mean that the times that you do a good job don't count...
((ooc: i want these idiots to appreciate themselves gdi. this shit is hard, and they deserve to feel proud of themselves))

U know that scene in season 3 when Matt goes out for the first time since the explosion? He confronts those guys in the street not being recovered and he basically asks them to kill him? Cause u know Catholic guilt and suicide and stuff..
Well I just had the image of Jane finding out Matt did this and was in this head space and PASTA THERE ARE TEARS
Tumblr media
I am sadly quite familiar with that heartbreaking scene unfortunately. It's the absolute lowest point he reaches, after being broken physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Gonna put the rest *waves* below a cut since it's dealing with a really heavy thing, but I'm down to talk about it a bit and about what Jane's reaction might be (since I'm planning to delve into S3 in TRT so I don't want to give things away).
So this point is basically the absolute, lowest of low points that Matt ever reaches in the show. He's been broken physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Everything he's worked for has seemingly failed - he couldn't save the law firm, he split with Foggy, he lost his relationship with Karen, he couldn't save Elektra. He's lost his friends, his abilities, and essentially his body. The people he cares about all seem better off now that he's 'gone' and dead, and he even asked Danny to look after the city for him. He is in unfathomable pain. All the work he's put into Hell's Kitchen, and crime has never stopped. And now the one thing he had left, the one thing he could do to help - fight for something - is gone. He's left with what seems like nothing and so... yeah. He sees no reason to keep living. He has no purpose, and he'd rather die there on the street as the Devil then go on living.
I think the fact that he's dangerously Catholic only illustrates where he's at, since this is considered a huge no-no.
And now enter Jane, who loves him fully, and who he loves desperately in return.
Enter Jane, who has previously considered turning a gun on herself (Flashback section of chapter 104) if she was about to be captured again by the Man in the White Coat. She is... dangerously familiar with feeling like you have no way out.
Let's set aside what's actually going to happen in TRT, since I can't tell you how it's going to go down. Let's just take this exactly as it happens in canon - Matt convinces himself that, like with everyone else, she's better off without him; that even if she loved both Matt and Devil, he's now neither - he can't fight, he can't be a lawyer, so he can't be either of the things she loved and needed. And so he still hands that pipe over and offers himself up to be killed. And she finds out.
Matt is the only person she's ever met who doesn't give up. He fights, over and over and over, even when things are hopeless. It's why she stayed and fought - because he convinced her that even when things seem hopeless, you fight. It's not how you hit the mat, it's how you get up. It doesn't make her angry that he, in that moment, gave up. Because she knows Matt. And she knows that the only reason he would ever, ever give up is because he's in the darkest place he's ever been, somewhere so very far away, cold and alone in shadows that are so much louder than the voices of those that love him.
Add to that idea that she's almost lost him - again - and...
This would break her. It would tear her right down the middle, grief and agony so strong her knees would hit the ground, so strong she'd retch. Matt is her person, a star by which she guides her ship. She wants to grow old with him, or as old as the Devil can get. She had plans for this life with him. To know he's in this much pain is something she feels in the very heart of her.
And she would wonder if... she failed, somewhere. If she failed to let him know he was loved. If she failed to let him know she would always love him, even if he wasn't Matt, even if he wasn't Daredevil, even if he was no one at all, because she's been no one, been a Jane Doe for years, and he loved her regardless.
Did she touch him gently enough? Was she there for him often enough? Did she miss the right moment to whisper in his ear as she held him that the shadows were wrong, that he made the world better, that he was a good man, that she was proud of him, and that it was ok if he wanted to let this hurt out because she'd be there to hold him through it?
And yet she'd also be struck by one urge most of all, one she gave into over and over even before they started a relationship:
Help him.
There's no way she wouldn't find her way to that church basement. Maybe Maggie calls her; maybe she gets there herself. But either way, she winds up in that basement. She would find him there where he's curled up in that corner, lost and hurting and convinced he's nothing. And there's no way she wouldn't crawl to him, take him into her arms as he breaks, as his voice cracks on a, 'it hurts, sweetheart, it hurts so much.' No way she wouldn't bury her face in his hair, crying just like him, and whisper back, 'I know, Matt. I know it does, D. It'll be ok. I love you so, so much, Matt. It'll be ok.'

Kim… We Have a Problem 🍫
Written by:
@heroes-villains-side-blog★@tratieisdabest★@just-a-space-rabbit
TW: Breaking and Entering, Attempted thievery, Destruction of property, Food (comfort eating implied), Fighting ❘〣❘〣❘ ✿ ❘〣❘〣❘
Hirra kicked open the front door of Kim’s apartment building. She seemed to be in a grumpy mood after failing to rob a jewelry store earlier that day, but was still looking forward to today's meeting.
While the "Sidekick Club" (the name stuck after Vulcan used it) didn't have much information to share on Shadow's and Alexandria's relationship, they had still chosen to meet.
Each member had their own reasons, but Hirra had told herself the free snacks and the look on Mender’s face when she lost at a board game was too good to give up. It would hopefully make her day a bit better…
But as the echo of the door finally subsided, she stopped as the open hallway was filled with strange clicking noises followed by annoyed grunts. They seemed to be coming from the floor above, which was concerning ‘what if someone was trying to steal something from Kim?’ and annoying ‘and why are they so loud about it?’.
Sneaking up the stairs to Kim’s floor, she looked around for the source of the sound. It was only then she got to Kim’s front door, she saw what it was.
“OI! MENDER!” she yelled, making Mender jump up in fear and drop the lock picking kit.
“Hirra! Why did you scare me like that?!” she yelled back. But Hirra was too busy going for the kit to reply, “Hey, that’s my lock picking kit!” Mender yelled as Hirra grabbed it before her.
“Why are you trying to break into Kim's place?”
“Well…” Mender looked at Hirra as her cheeks reddened. “I couldn't get through the window and I have already knocked, but Kim was not home, so I…”
“Tried to steal my thing?” Hirra sounded offended, “I’m the one that picks locks here and you- eh, wait… what did you mean you knocked?!”
“I knocked on the door and Kim isn't home, and I'm good at lock picking. But I think Kim replaced the lock with a better one, because it's really complex!” Mender refused to look Hirra in the eye when she said all this.
“Well, then,” Hirra's demeanor changed completely, “guess it’s time for you to learn from a lock picking master!” She said proudly and shoved Mender to the side. “Now look closely! This is how it is done, just take it like that, and there we go!” she said as the door clicked open.
“Wait now, hang on! You didn't tell me how to do it!” Even with her mask covering parts of her face, you could still see how the hero's… everything scrunched up in annoyance.
“Tough luck” Hirra smirked and walked into the small apartment, Mender quickly followed, but with a frown. It still felt strange being here when Kim was not home, but that never stopped the two from entering anyway.
After the ‘pockets incident’ as they called it, Kim had to move out of the other apartment (as the location was compromised now that Lady Alexandria knew where it was), and into somewhere new.
Earthly and natural, would be the words Mender thought of to describe it with its old and mismatched furniture. On the surface, nothing in the room matched anything else, and yet it still somehow worked together.
It wasn't a bad place per se, though it was a bit cramped.
There was a sudden thump, as Hirra lay down flat on the sofa, typing away on her phone.
“What are you doing?” Mender asked, looking down at her.
Hirra looked up at her for a moment before turning back to the phone, and kept typing. “I’m trying to find out why Kim's late, but they won't answer me.”
“Can you at least move, so I can have a seat? I’m tired from work,” Mender said. “Also, I want my lock picking kit back.” Hirra shoved the kit at Mender without looking up from her phone.
Mender just sighed and went to the kitchen in search of the hidden club snack storage. ‘Might as well prepare for the meeting’ she thought as her stomach made a loud growl.
“What was that?” Hirra snickered from the sofa.
“Not my fault. We had four villains all of who committed crimes during my lunch break today, so I haven't eaten since breakfast!” but Hirra only laughed at her, until her stomach made an equal sound, making Mender snicker.
After some looking she finally found it, the metal box labeled "candy"... she could feel Hirra’s eyes looking at it.
“Any word from Kim yet?” Mender asked as she grabbed the box and brought it to the table.
“Not yet,” Hirra sat up as she answered.
“Well, at least we can have some snacks!” Mender was trying to cheer up the mood a bit, so she placed the box on the table, plopped down on the couch, and opened it to find...
“WHY IS THERE ONLY ONE LEFT!!!!” They yelled, looking down at the sad lonely chocolate, surrounded by the red licorice Kim had mistaken for raspberry toffee some weeks earlier.
But before they let the thoughts of who had done this, and why, there was a more urgent matter to attend to
‘Who is going to eat it?’
They both stood up and looked at each other, clearly thinking the same thing.
“This chocolate bar ain't big enough for the two of us, pardner.” Hirra said as she moved to the side for a better fighting angle.
Mender confusedly moved in the opposite direction, though she made sure not to move too far away from the little candy box. “Why are you talking like that? Never mind, I’m starving and Kim’s out of snacks and food!”
“If you want food, best you mozy on down to the grocery store and get s'more then. Git.” Hirra snickered back at her.
“I won't be mozying anywhere! If anyone will be mozying, it's you! Pardner.” Mender said in a stereotypical "cowboy" accent matching Hirra back; clearly neither were backing down, which meant only one thing.
There was a loud crash, followed by an even more concerning bang! As red starts to spread everywhere from all the scattered licorice, Hirra and Mender lay bound together on top of the now broken coffee table. It seemed like they fired their weapons at the same time, and Hirra's net guns and Mender’s grappling glove clearly don't mix well in a tight space.
They were both stuck in a tangled mess of rope and… more rope, both from the net and grappling hook.
As they both twisted trying to get loose there was a snarky “Well… that was clever of you!” from Hirra.
Only for Mender who was currently on top of Hirra to yell back “Yes, REALLY clever of you to use a NET GUN INSIDE! Where did you even hide that thing?”
“Like I would tell you!” Hirra used her power to create a knife. “Now, please move! I need to cut the grappling rope.”
“What?! No, you can’t do that! Cut the net instead, that’s what's really trapping us.”
“No way I’m cutting my precious net!” Hirra yelled.
“Well, there is no way I’ll let you cut my rope!” Mender replied, laying down so that Hirra could not cut anything.
What followed was an “Ugh… FINE!” as Hirra relaxed as well.
The room almost fell into silence before Mender chimed in, “… so, will you cut the net then?”
“No.” Hirra answered with a straight face. “I’ll wait for Kim to come home, so that they can do it.”
“Fine! But don’t complain when Kim has to cut the net open!” Mender said.
They lay in silence for a while, before there was suddenly someone calling Hirra’s phone. Hirra tried to get up but was unable to, swinging the net uncomfortably for the two.
“Hirra! STOP! We can't reach it!” Mender yelled. The call stopped and a message began to play.
“Hey, sorry, Hirra, I’m going to be late!” said Kim’s voice from the phone. “You guys just go ahead and enjoy some snacks in the meantime, see ya when I get home in an hour!”
And then silence…
“A whole hour…” the two breathed out defeatedly.
It took one hour and thirty minutes before the sidekick duo heard the door open, and Kim finally rounded the corner of the small hallway.
"Sorry, I'm late,” they said, not fully looking at the duo, as they brought in several grocery bags. “Vulcan held me up in some dumb meeting, and then I also had to get groceries after... What are you two doing…?" Kim said as they finally looked at the two of them.
“IT WAS ALL MENDER!” the villain yelled.
“NO, IT WAS ALL HIRRA!” the hero yelled.
“I can’t believe you two!” Kim says in a defeated voice as they rub their forehead in annoyance.
There was a cheeky “Can you get us out?” From Hirra, but Kim just looked back at her before answering. “Nope.”
“WHAT?” they both yelled.
“I need to get this food in the fridge. In the meantime, you two can explain why you are bound together like this and apologize for breaking my coffee table.”
As Kim got to setting the food in place, the two begin talking.
And they began recapping their day, and everything that happened before the fight started.
“And I've been having a hard day since I haven't eaten anything since breakfast!” Mender piped up trying to support her argument “Just been one villain after another!”
“Like my day was any better!” Hirra interrupted. “I spent weeks planning that robbery of that jewelry store, but then after everything went PERFECTLY, guess what?”
“What?” Kim said, having left the remaining food to sit down on the sofa and listen to the two.
“IT WAS ALL FAKE! And because of me, they got arrested! And I was left with a bag of worthless junk!” Hirra yelled.
“Yikes…” Kim said, shocked.
“Yikes, indeed.” Hirra huffed. “And then I come here, and I can’t even successfully steal a single small piece of candy.”
“What do you mean by that?” Kim said, finally noticing all the red licorice, spread all over the floor.
“Hirra refused to share!” Mender grunted. “And I was so hungry!” she pouted while giving Kim her best puppy dog eyes.
While the hero didn't have any siblings, she did have older cousins, and most teachers liked her; she'd had many years to perfect the sad sad eyes. But before she could get Kim to feel bad for her, Hirra interrupted!
“WELL, SO WAS I!” Hirra yelled back. “But when we opened the box—”
“The Box!” Kim yelled and jumped up from the sofa. “I forgot about that!”
The two looked up at them in confusion, before Mender began to ask, “What do you mean 'you forgot'…? Kim…? Why was it filled with only licorice???”
But Kim was no longer keeping eye contact with the two. When they sat back down on the sofa did the duo notice Kim’s cheeks had reddened. “I… I ate it all…” they said in a defeated tone.
“YOU!!!” Hirra yelled.
“I mean it does make sense,” Mender said. “Who else would have? But what I want to know is WHY?”
Kim was not looking at the other two as they began talking sheepishly. “Well, the thing about adult life and living alone is that you have to remember things like how much there is left of stuff and all that, and then yesterday I had forgotten to buy more food, but I did not feel like going out so… I ate it. I had planned to refill it before the meeting! But I got caught up with work…''
“What happened yesterday?” Hirra asked sounding almost worried.
Kim looked like they would rather not answer. “I got stood up... on a date…”
“You went on a date?!” Mender suddenly asked. “With who? Do we know them? Are they a villain!? I can get them arrested if they are! Who are they!?”
But Mender’s questions were quickly downed out by Hirra yelling her own questions.
“WHO DID IT?! TELL ME KIM! AND I'LL BEAT THEIR SORRY ASS!!!”
“Who it was is for neither of you to know.” Kim finally answered once the two quieted down. “And, yes, I was supposed to go on a date yesterday. Would have been nice to know that they changed their mind, before paying TOO MUCH for a new dress and dinner reservation, and then letting me sit there for over an hour waiting, but hey, that's just how dating a villain is sometimes.”
“So it was a VILLAIN!” Hirra yelled, making Mender and Kim jump. “Mender, I think we got our next case! We need to find out who the villain is and beat them up!”
But before Mender could answer with her already forming plan, Kim had gotten up and brought out an old hidden knife that Hirra had made for them years ago.
This immediately took the duo’s focus.
Kim began to move and test the different parts of the bindings. “Looks like I need to cut both the net and grappling rope to get you loose. So let's make a deal.”
“A deal?”
“Since we're all a bit to blame and all of us seem to have had a bad day.” Kim began. “I’ll cut you loose and then fix your weapons after. In return, you two need to make dinner and help me either fix or get a new coffee table. Does that sound good?”
“Yes! Deal!” Mender and Hirra nodded in agreement, seeming very ready to get separated from each other.
Then, as Kim was about to begin cutting they stopped. “Oh, and one more thing… There will be no looking to find the person that stood me up, okay?”
The duo was silent for a moment, before Mender answered, “Yes, we won't do that!”. She didn't like it, but anything to be free of Hirra. After more silence, Kim then made full eye contact with Hirra who after some time gave a half enthusiastic “Fine…”
Turns out they were a bit more tangled together than any of them originally thought, but after fifteen minutes both Hirra and Mender were out of the mess.
"Soooo, what's for dinner, Kimball?" Hirra asked, looking curiously towards the kitchen and the half empty bags of groceries.
“Kimball?” Mender whispered in confusion.
“I bought food for some Nortusen isle's style Tacos, though with some authentic spiciness.'' Kim said as they got up to look for a toolkit to fix the broken weapons.
Meanwhile, Hirra was walking over to the open kitchen throwing several fist bumps into the air in joy, clearly approving the choice.
Mender, on the other hand, looked down at the broken coffee table. “Sorry, for breaking it, it was stupid of us to fight like that.”
“Hey, don’t worry about it!” Kim said as they dropped all the needed stuff on the small dinner table. “I got it for free from some guy online, the only annoying part was carrying it here. But I think I can fix it. If not, then at least I got two people to carry the new one for me. And hey, got to say I’m impressed! With the weapons used, it is quite unbelievable that you two only manage to break the table and nothing else!” They laughed at the end of the sentence, making Mender smile.
In the end, it was a not so productive meeting, but at least it was a fun one. The trio ended up spending a lot of time chatting over good food and weapon repair.

She felt his hands on her shoulders, ostensibly to take her coat, but she spun around, furiously knocking his arms away, heedless of the gun he still carried on his person. “You brute,” she sobbed between set teeth, backing up a step. “How dare you bring me here!” “Paula—” he started, once again gently going for her coat, but she once again backed up. She pulled the collar close about her neck, as if doing so might offer some sort of protection. “Before I’d let you touch me, I’d kill myself!” she seethed, and with that, she made a mad lurch toward the window, as if to throw herself through it. Red caught her before she reached the glass, and for a moment they struggled violently, with Paula clawing and kicking and doing everything in her power to break free. They stumbled across the carpet, and then he pushed her against an upholstered chair, pinning her with his body while he fought to restrain her arms, eventually getting both of her wrists in one large hand. “Paula, please—” he started again, but she wasn’t having any of it, instead squirming in his grip and trying to jockey her trapped legs into a position that would allow her to bring a knee up in what she’d been led to believe was a very effective—if unladylike—attack. “You think you can hold me,” she panted, “but I’ll show you. I’ll—” “Be quiet,” he ordered, and his fingers briefly tightened around her wrists in warning. Paula gasped at the sensation, and it was enough to make her comply, despite herself. Red heaved a breath, and for a moment they just stared at each other, both a little flushed from the physical altercation. “I keep trying to tell you,” he said, willfully curbing his irritation, “you misunderstand. So long as you behave yourself, I promise no harm will come to you. It might comfort you to know we’re not alone. I have two servants who stayed with me when my dad’s establishment broke up.” Finally, he let go of her and stepped back. “Anyway, do you really think I’d risk ruining my well-laid plans for you—a girl? Even if you are beautiful,” he added, with a cursory glance over her form. He brought his hand up and, with an odd look, regarded a red mark her nails had left on it. “Some little fury, aren’t you?” He took another breath and pointed firmly across the room. “Leave your coat on if you truly prefer, but calm down, sit at that desk, and write what I dictate.”
Me, out here, just rewriting canon scenes so that they’re sexier. 👀

cant decide whether or not it's sad that cameron campbell an actual wanted criminal who's banned in 4 or more countries legitimately respected his break with his ex-fiance and didn't date nor hook up with anyone for 17 whole years

They say
“It’s
Okay not
To be
Okay”
But then when you
Admit
“I’m
Not okay”
They
Laugh and
Turn away,
Leaving you
Wondering how it is
Possible to feel like
You’re
Drowning
Without
Water.
Then when you’re in the
Hospital
Bed,
White
Sheets covering the
Machines keeping your
Heart
Going,
They
Cry,
Questioning why you never
Spoke
Up.
But
Maybe the
Only way
To be
Taken
Seriously,
Is to be in the
White
Sheets.
Later,
You
Begin
Looking
Better.
They
Stop
Caring,
Of course
They do.
Why would anyone
Care?
Then the
Cycle
Repeats.
“I
Thought you were
Doing
Better?”
Well
You never
Cared.
You never
Cared.
And I’m not even
Surprised,
Anymore.
Nobody
Cares.
